Pompous sets up a watch at the rear and looks around. He hears the water crashing along, as it has always been doing, through the gully under the bridge. There is a very light breeze that rustles some trees off in the distance. He doesn’t see anything else that appears out of place or wrong, as far as he can tell.
Trayvin passes out some healing as the Agents tromp into the entranceway, throwing various light forms in front of them: Nikolai uses his torch to get rid of the spider webs as Pru sends a few magical dancing lights into the space. Michael and Anna push their way past as Michael tries to make a joke and walks right in as Anna tries to look around. There is so much light now that Anna really can’t tell if there’s anything unnatural, but the fact that the torch and the dancing lights are providing so much light lead her to suspect there’s just no natural source inside the building.
Inside Michael finds he is in a small entryway. The space is about twenty feet deep and almost thirty wide. There are two old wooden doors that don’t look to be in quite as good shape as the outside door. These look a little older and slightly warped. One door is in the far wall and the other is in a diagonal wall. The space here looks like it was meant as a sitting area as there are a couple very old and dried out benches along the wall here. As he steps into the room and disturbs the dust, a puff goes right up his nose (Fort save DC 10 or sneeze).

Michael has been a snake eater for many years, and as such has been in more dusty situations than he cares to remember, being as he isn't that far into the structure, he pinches his nose and lets the urge to sneeze pass. but knowing that he has only bought himself a few minutes until he has to sneeze again. he pulls out a hanky and quietly blows his nose. he then takes a bandanna , wets it and ties it across his nose and mouth to keep out some of the dust. He then keeps on scouting ahead. as long as the path is simple and straight he keeps on but if the path starts splitting he takes out his chalk and puts arrows on the walls pointing back they way they came and marking off corridores they have explored. it's basic dungon craft. and probably overkill, but it pays dividendes to be thorough.

Sigvar steps into the room as Michael covers his mouth with a bandana. He moves ahead and draws a chalk arrow on the ground a couple feet in front of the watching Sigvar. It points at the door two feet beyond. Trayvin asks if they should look around as Michael draws another arrow on the wall. Pru’s dancing lights dance ahead and bounce off the wall as Anna considers climbing the interior walls all the way to the top of the ten foot tall room. Nikolai asks Michael to check for traps while Pompous makes spooky noises just outside the door, still keeping up the rear guard.
OOC: Sorry, did I explain this room wrong? It’s a tiny room. It’s so small I’m not sure everyone can actually fit in there at once. And there’s doors there. So there’s nowhere to go until you go through one of them…

first off Michael listens at each door intently with all the noisey members of the party a good distance away. then He tries each door to see if they are locked or unlocked. If locked he makes a determination as to the method by which the door is secured. he then comes up with a way of defeating the lock. pick it if it's a tumbler, wire lift if it's a bar. spiked? flex the door and the spike will fall. many different ways to secure a door and an almost infinite number of ways to unsecure it.

Sigvar, Pru, Anna, and Nikolai stand by and keep watch while Michael checks out the doors. He listens carefully at each door but hears nothing other than the party members. Neither door appears locked, but based on his careful examination, the doors appear stuck. They look as if they haven’t been opened in a very, very long time and the wood has expanded to fill the space of the doorframe. Unless there is something barring the doors from behind, both look like they could be forced with a little effort (strength check DC 15), but that would likely break the doors.

The group ponders which door to open. After a little discussion, Nikolai points at the door to the right. Sigvar attacks the door. The door is damp and swollen, but not very thick. The door easily smashes and crumbles into smaller pieces under Sigvar’s assault.
Beyond the door is a larger space that is also enveloped in darkness. (Assuming torches and dancing lights are moved there): The space beyond the door looks like it might have once been a sitting room. This area is also completely covered in dust, though there are very few cobwebs here. Along the far wall are what look like wide, low couches that are rotting and appear that they could not hold the weight of a flea today. There are a couple tables at the sides of that couch as well. There is a strange fireplace without a chimney next to the east wall of the room. In the corners of the room there are jet black suits of armor that are also covered with dust. You don’t see any other exits from this room and it appears that it takes up the entire space of the castle (based on what you observed from the outside of the castle).

OOC: Combat rounds start now. Nikolai is in the doorway to the room and Michael is right behind him. There are five suits of armor, one in each natural corner of the room, and another just to the right of the door. More detailed map coming, but feel free to start out with combat plans and actions. Note: since one is just inside the doorway, if anyone moves past or through the doorway, you're going to draw an AOO. Also, Nikolai is standing there, too, so you have to shove past him.

OOC That is a critical threat Michael, were you going to roll to confirm? IC Sigvar sees the armor moving now and his single eye widens. Those are either undead or animated armor. Either way they are an abomination in Gargul's eyes. He feels Haste wash over him and he puts his thoughts into action. He steps closer to the door at an angle so that he can swing into the room better. He aims for the suit closest to the door and tests whether or not that black metal is adamantite or not.

In a flash, the agents start moving!
Trayvin requests tea and biscuits, but prepares for battle. Nikolai steps into the room and to the side to free up the doorway. He holds and studies the suits of armor. Pru quickly casts haste, catching the entire party. Anna quickly fires a web in the direction of the armor she can see. The entire corner of the room is now covered in massive, sticky webs. Michael dives and dodges into the room, moving for the rear of one of the suits of armor. The armor takes a swing at him as he moves, but misses him completely. Michael strikes with his rapier, but his arm rings with the blow as he hits solid metal, appearing not to damage it.
Pompous, standing so that he could see in the room, can spot the suit of armor on the far side of the room that was just encased in the magical webs. With the light from the dancing lights, he looks, but it is difficult to see the figure in the webs. He launches a few arrows and hears some strike metal. Sigvar's eyes get wide at the movement and he wonders if they are undead. They do not move like undead, but he steps forward anyway. None of the suits of armor are in range of the doorway.
The first suit of armor steps up and swings a long sword at Sigvar, but it clangs against the remains of the doorway. The knight between Michael and Nikolai swings it's longsword at Nikolai. One blow is easily dodged, but the backswing strikes him hard. Nikolai feels a little swirling in his mind as the sword hits him that sets him on edge (Nikolai takes 13 damage plus 7 chaotic damage). The armor in the web throws off the strands and takes a step forward.
The remaining two suits of armor lean back and a stream of black energy streams forth! One hits Nikolai and Michael, enveloping them in momentary darkness. The other hits Sigvar and Nikolai again! The darkness fades after a moment, but everyone caught in the energy feels the negative energy around them.

Web requires anchoring, so firing at a thing would not have any effect. Clearly Anna would know that, so I'm thinking that she has a clear shot across the room at X5 and fires to use the walls there as anchors, hoping to pin X5 in the corner with the webs. It has a 20' radius, but since it needs the anchors, part of it collapsed. What remains is on the map in gold. Also, the web
Note: Michael's acrobatics was enough to avoid the AOO, so it was just flavor text because I picture the thing taking a swing anyway! Since the suits of armor are against the wall, he can't quite get the flanking bonus just yet (because Nikolai had to move out of the way to allow others in). And yes, that does look like a critical threat with that d20+21=40 roll!
Sigvar's action was before the armor moved, so they were all in corners. X1 moved up so if Sigvar has reach, he can take an AOO against X1.

Sigvar steps back and bellows, providing extra power to all of the Agents from Gargul! He steps around and attacks around the door at one of the monsters. His strikes land true and he feels his power slamming into the creature. Pru fires blasting rays into a number of the suits of armor, then does so again! Then she looks at her finger, surprised it isn’t smoking. Trayvin steps up to the doorway and with the support of Sigvar’s aura, attacks the creature there, striking true. Michael continues attacking the monster near him, but in his weakened state, he has trouble breaking through the armor of the beast. Nikolai switches up weapons while Pompous fires arrows through the doorway and the combat towards the one creature he can spot from his location. Despite the fighting and the web, some of his arrows make contact with the beast emerging from the webs. The suit of armor stops in the webs and is no longer trying to escape!
Very suddenly, a massive wall of ice appears in the doorway! It blocks Sigvar and the doorway, leaving Trayvin, Michael, and Nikolai inside the room with the creatures and everyone else outside the room! Another blast of negative energy appears and encompasses Trayvin, Michael, Nikolai, and the creature between them. That creature swings its sword at Nikolai, but does not manage to make contact with him. But at the same time, a giant creature appears in the corner of the room! This is some kind of thing with a long, snake-like body and a woman’s torso. It has six arms and each of the arms hold a long sword in it! When it appears, it immediately attacks Michael, swords flying everywhere. The multiple swords catch Michael completely by surprise, and they cut deeply into him again and again (ouch: 2 critical hits, total damage: 73 to Michael)
OOC Notes: Saves required by Nikolai, Michael, and Trayvin: Reflex DC 20 or take 8 strength damage (-4 to attacks, damage, and other strength-related activities).
Pru: yes, I’d say the smite applies to spells like that, however you do have to select one single target for the smite and all the bonuses only apply to that single target. Also, the targets do have spell resistance so you’ll need to roll to overcome that (23). It looks like even without the bonus to hit, all those attacks will hit the touch AC of 14, but the bonus +26 to damage only applies to the first of each of the attacks. No need to back up, if you can just roll the spell resistance six times I will apply the damage next round (presuming X2 as designated target: X2: 75, X3: 32, X4: 23).
I really want to allow the Anna-tiger to charge attack, but I can’t see any way to get from that starting location at B3 to get through the doorway where Sigvar and Trayvin are both standing and to get a “clear path to your opponent” that “move[s] at least 10 feet.” And with the tiger being size large, I don’t have any idea how to get through that doorway with the combat in the way: at the moment, both Sigvar and Trayvin are really standing and fighting through a 5 foot wide doorway!
Nikolai, I’m not sure what was meant by “positions behind Michael.” That sounds like a move to H6, but that will certainly draw an AOO, so I didn’t move Nikolai on the map. Also note that Nikolai took 20 damage last round that I don’t see in the header.
P.S. Why did Pompous and Nikolai suddenly switch to cold iron? Just felt like switching things up?

OOC @#%%$@!Q$^#@ I did it again and posted a whole round then went to work without submitting it. I had been much clearer in my first, unposted description of the aura of justice, and if you smite like the paladin that gives you the aura, it is a free action, or swift, either way it is fast. Hugh, you can move through allies. You can move through opponents with an acrobatics roll. But you can't CHARGE through anyone. Charges require a clear straight path, tough to do indoors, while large, with other large people in front of you, sorry. OK so now to my post, I'll try to recreate it but some of those numbers no longer apply.
IC Sigvar sees the Marlith pop into the room and winces as she becomes a storm of slashing blades around Michael. One thing at a time Sigvar he reminds himself. when the big four armed badded appeared and hit michael it ruined his timing for the dodge of the darkness the blackness envelops him and his strenght drops, it drops so far in fact that his heart cannot strain hard enough to pump blood throughout his body. The pain of his wounds fades and he finds himself standing in a corner of the ceiling waching the despreate battle waged against his friends. He looks at his body, he looks awful small with all the giants battling around him.
He smiles at that. That one so small could be as deadly as he has been gives him comfort. still he hopes his comrades can carry on without him.

Pru quickly reacts and dispels the wall of ice as it appears. The ground is dry as every drop disappears without a trace! Anna turns into a hawk and prepares to move up for another attack. Trayvin yells at Michael and quickly attacks the creature near them again and again until it collapses with a crash into the ground. Nikolai feels energized and accelerates his attacks against one of the creatures, easily chopping into it. Pieces of armor break off, but it does not fall. Sigvar renews his attack through the doorway and manages to strike the monster enough that it, too, collapses in a heap of crashing armor. Pompous takes aim through the small space of the doorway and the combat all around and tries to hit the many-armed creature on the far side of the room that he can just spot between all the action. He’s pretty sure one of his arrows flew true, but couldn’t really see the results of his actions through the melee.
In the corner of the room, Michael’s small body falls to the ground. The massive six-armed creature ignores the body and steps forward. The arms and swords flash again, this time targeting Nikolai! But instead of attacking him, the creature moves and the massive tail flies out, slamming into Nikolai, then with incredible speed, wrapping around him, tightly squeezing the life out of him! It shifts around him, leaving him caught in the huge tail! Two drops of magic come from the room, from the direction of the suits of armor and suddenly the outer room is filled with flames and heat!
OOC: Nikolai is grappled, CMD 42 to escape! Damage from tail slap 11, damage from constriction: 18

Man, I hate trying to post battles while traveling. Perhaps I should travel less. Ah, no matter, I hope to get this in and posted before the next plane. Hello anyone near Atlanta!
Also, I am sorry about any confusion on actions, spells, and so on. I know some of you DM and these higher level battles always lead to, well, lots of stuff! Combat for these games usually has me with dozens of tabs open on browsers as I look up all sorts of pages, rules, character sheets, and so on. I promise I try and run everything fairly for the characters – if I miss something, it’s simply me not knowing everything about the rules, despite having played for dozens of years. I do apologize if something I interpret or rule makes things bad for your character or your actions! I almost think that these higher level battles need two days for each round just to clarify and determine everything. I might try to find a good way to do that in the future, but for now I’m doing the best I can to hopefully make it enjoyable for everyone. Also, I guess that should have been an email…

Pru manages to dodge the worst of the fireballs, and her affinity for fire means she only takes a tiny bit of damage from the biggest one.
Her primary concern is for her teammates. Michael is down, Nikolai is grappled, and Trayvin may have a hard time helping Michael in all that scrum. Pru scooches past Trayvin to F-6, possibly soaking up an AoO on the way. She grabs the unconscious Michael with one hand and the grappled Nikolai with another. "Let's get out of here!" she says. She nods to Trayvin, hoping he'll take the hint and grab her arm or something; she only has two hands. She casts defensively, trusting Trayvin to remember their team training and give her a hand.
[As a swift action, use the Mailed Fist Team Tactics feature to give Trayvin the Shielded Caster feat for 1 round. Casts Dimension Door defensively. Succeeds with a 29.]
Pru casts her spell, and hops to D-2, bringing her companions with her. Note: the spell specifies the caster can bring willing creatures, so Nikolai doesn't have to come if he doesn't want to. I assume Michael wants to, and that Trayvin wants to go with Michael. :)

Trayvin doesn't need to be told twice, he reaches out and places a hand on Pru's shoulder as she whisks the team out of the room.
I'll try and give us some breathing room. Trayvin reaches down and touches the floor casting a spell as he does so. Casting stone shape, he wills a portion of the floor, walls, and ceiling to create a crude stone wall blocking the doorway and the creatures now on the other side. I don't think that will hold them for long. Get ready. Trayvin looks at Michael, and hopes it isn't too late.

Pru runs into the room and heads for her allies. As she does so, she tries to dodge the whirling blades, but is unable to do so as one slices her deeply in the guy (Pru 26 damage). She manages to grab Michael and Nikolai. Trayvin reaches out to touch her and she whisks the group into the other room. As soon as they appear, Trayvin is already reaching to the ground to shape the stone. Stone from the floor slides and moves, closing the space that was a doorway. Nikolai checks on Michael and finds he is simply too weak too move and not in need of the stabilize. He slides back against the wall, even that movement taking all his strength. He feels a pull of darkness and momentarily feels shadowy.
Tiny Anna Hawk heads for the battle, but is stymied when the large mass or rock appears where there was a doorway a moment ago! Sigvar heals himself and prepares to step forward, but stops at the sudden appearance of the stone wall. There is a momentary, sudden silence as the Agents catch their breath and the wall of stone does not immediately disappear.

Nikolai makes a suggestion based on the wall disappearing. Trayvin notes that the stone was moved, so it’s not a simple matter of just dismissing the stone. Michael looks around, still in a daze. Pompous quickly offers a potion to Michael (1d4 strength restored). Sigvar heals himself up and prepares to head back into battle.

Pru casts a spell on Sigvar. Pompous holds onto a potion to see who needs it. Michael drinks the potion and finds that he can move, but is still tired. Anna turns into a tiger and fills a good portion of the small room. Trayvin starts casting a spell to help Michael. Nikolai starts counting down to breaking down the newly created stone wall. Sigvar starts casting a spell as well.
Pompous stands and waits, but does not have long to wait. The air in the room shimmers and reality appears to shift. Very suddenly the room is crammed full with bodies! The many-armed woman and the two suits of armor quite suddenly appear in the room with the Agents!
OOC: Trayvin could start casting greater restoration on Michael. Note that this takes 5000 gp of diamond dust, but more importantly, takes 3 rounds to cast! One round has passed. It will be lost if you stop casting it before it is completed. The same goes for Sigvar and the lesser restoration. Pompous has a potion in hand, not a weapon.
Note the tight spaces in the room now. If you’re going to make much movement, you may need to map out a path so everyone can see where everyone else had moved. Please pay attention to those who post before you in case they move in your way or into your intended space. Yes, you can move through spaces occupied by your allies. Beware of AOOs as you move!

OOC- Trayvin was casting the mid-tier restoration on Michael, that one should take care of the ability damage and costs 100gp worth of diamond dust for that verision. (I forgot about the casting time on those, been awhile since I used them in combat rounds) The lesser restoration was not used yet since we are in combat rounds.
Trayvin hopes to maintain his concentration as the creatures show up for another round. At least he was able to get a little healing out first.

OOC OK, so apparently we are just starting a new round. IC Sigvar see's Prudence change forms to protect Michael and he acts while the Marlith may be distracted. He steps forward 5 feet and Smites her. That added to the spellcasting while in the tiny room means she is about to be sorry that those suits of armor called her for help.

If that first blow kills her the rest of the attacks are on x2 I believe long creatures were 3.5 d&d. Also most animals don't have reach when large. But that is off the top of my head, and as you are practically in his armor doesn't apply. I thought teleport took any of your remaining actions away and kinda left you stunned, but I think that was 3.5 too because I couldn't find it anywhere.

Michael isn't used to being in the back rank, he's also not used to being weak as a kitten. He pulls out an a potion of Achemists fire and throws it on the she demon, he then throws a flask of oil on her to feed the flames. sure she has DR 10 but fire makes most things flinch.

Trayvin concentrates, trying to restore Michael to full strength. Pru’s eyes widen in shock at the sudden appearance of the bad guys right next to her! She carefully considers the swords as she casts a spell to turn into a water elemental. She can tell this is an outsider, it needs cold iron or good to hurt it (DR 10/cold iron and good), and it is immune to two types of elemental damage (Electricity, poison; DR for acid, cold, fire). Sigvar stops casting his spell (spell is lost), takes a step forward and tries to attack the many-armed woman, but cannot get past the others next to her. Instead, he takes his wrath out on the suit of armor and it falls to the ground with a clatter and a splat. From his seated position, Michael pulls out and throws a small potion of alchemical fire at the woman. It explodes and fire splashes about her side and a little hits water-elemental Pru (1 point of fire damage).
Pompous turns, drops the potion in his hand, and unloads with his bow. The potion crashes to the ground and shatters. He just barely dodges the swing of one of the swords from the creature. The weaving arms and snake-like body dodge the shots and his arrows crash into the wall behind it. Anna-tiger finally gets involved in the battle, quickly biting and slashing the remaining suit of armor. She climbs on top of it to grapple it, but then realizes that she has a limp suit of armor in her claws. Nikolai starts to strike at the suit of armor, but it has fallen to the ground.
The whirling blades of the six-armed woman start flying. One sword in one arm attacks Pompous repeatedly and one finds his flesh (Pompous: 15 damage). The other arms also swing at nearby targets, water elemental Pru (Pru: 31 damage) and Trayvin (Trayvin: 14 damage). At the last moment, the tail of the monster swings around, slams into Trayvin, and starts wrapping around him (Trayvin: 9 damage; grappled) and squeezing!
OOC: On the aura of justice, I thought you had one round to use it and then you were allowed to keep those smiting bonuses until the target was killed, like a regular smite. Looking it up now, I was close. You do indeed have to start using the ability within one round. Then it lasts for 1 minute. So sorry, no smite for Tiger-Anna (thanks for all the details in the post!)
Sigvar, it’s too crowded to get all the way to the woman, so I redirected the attacks on X2. Sigvar can move through a space occupied by an ally, but cannot end movement filling that space. For Michael, taking out a potion is a move action, then throwing it is a standard action. That’s all he can get done on this turn, though he can do the same again next turn. With everyone there, that’s a ranged attack into combat, so -4 to the attack. That’s a 19, but it still hits. Pompous I don’t know if you have a way to avoid AOO, so if you do let me know. Otherwise, the monster gets an AOO for you attacking it with a ranged weapon while standing next to it. It missed.
Trayvin: Whew! Okay, so it hit with a sword for 14 damage and the tail did 9 damage. In order for that to not interrupt the casting, you need a concentration check, DC 37 or lose the spell. The creature’s tail is going for a grapple. I don’t see a CMD on your character sheet, so I calculated one: 10 + BAB (9) + Str Mod (4) + Dex Mod (0) = 23. Its grapple attack exceeded 23, so Trayvin is grappled. To continue concentrating, if you succeeded with the above check, you need a second concentration check, DC 42! If you make that one (which I don’t think you can with a +15 concentration that I see on the sheet), you can complete the spell this round.

Everyone: Please do pay close attention to the map and the actions of the other Agents! These are very tight quarters and there are only so many things you can do. If you get in one another’s way and don’t notice it, things are going to get ugly quickly! Only one person can occupy any space at one time. You can move through a space with an ally, but cannot end movement there. You can use the space occupied by the defeated armors, I’ll remove them next round. I did look up the space for the tiger, and there’s an example with Large (Long), and that creature takes up the four 5 foot boxes. Sorry!

Anna steps up and takes a dive at the edge of the monster. She manages to damage it when she hits, but feels a horrible draining from an aura of the creature! She tries to grab the huge thing in her claws, but the snake-like body slithers out of her reach. Trayvin tries to shake off the blows from the swirling swords and activates the ability to ensure the beast cannot squeeze him again, at least for a time. Pru yells at Nikolai and the team members quickly swap places, carefully trying to not trip over the still seated and weakened Michael on the ground. He tries to take a swipe at the monster, but his balance is off and sparks fly as he hits the wall instead. Pompous tries to fire some arrows, but they all fly wide. When he does, another sword slashes at him and strikes true (Pompous 29 damage). Michael yells at the creature, but his voice is completely drowned out by the combat around him.
The visage on the face of the creature sneers or smiles, you’re not quite sure, as it looks as the number of targets it has in range. You can almost see it counting that it can reach six different targets and it has six different arms. Swords and arms start flying around, filling the air. Only small Michael, down and below, avoids attacks from the swords (Pompous 17 damage; Trayvin 11 damage; Pru 17 damage; Nikolai 17 damage). The tail tries to close around Trayvin again, but his magic keeps it from grasping him. The creature is starting to look injured, but does not look like it will fall soon.
OOC: Sorry, Sigvar, I don’t think I knew that you had reach! I don’t know how I didn’t know that, but I don’t think it’s ever come up before now that I can think of. I am sorry about that. After that, after searching all kinds of rules trying to decide what to do with Pompous still there, I think the best I can come up with is that Pompous would allow Sigvar to attack through his space, but I think Pompous would give the beast cover: “When making a melee attack against a target that isn’t adjacent to you (such as with a reach weapon), use the rules for determining cover from ranged attacks.” So for Sigvar, the creature’s AC is +4, or 36. Since you didn’t get an attack in this round, please add two (full) rounds of attacks on your next post, if you desire!

OOC Sigvar has been large for 13 levels. He has had reach the entire time. The fact that Pompous is at best 6 feet tall and Sigvar is 10 feet tall makes that whole statement about cover absurd. That being said, you're the DM and I'll play by whatever Nonpathfinder rules you throw in to make this challenging, but my AC should be 4 higher for every opponent that attacks ME with reach too. See how hard to remember this gets really fast?

It removes your penalty to hit while firing into melee. It does nthing to stop them from beating you up while you shoot and are IN melee.

WaterPru spins and tries to cast a spell, but the spell fails. Sigvar launches into the creature repeatedly. Black blood spurts all around, splashing nearly everyone as Sigvar nearly takes off an arm of the monster. It now has his attention, but the black aura reaches out to hit Sigvar as well (Sigvar strength damage: 6). Trayvin turns and tries to block those around him and avoiding the swirling blades.
Nikolai calls out to the others suggestions about working together in this combat. He then jabs and pokes, trying to help open up a spot for Sigvar to hit (Sigvar: +2 to hit next round). Anna-Tiger keeps up her attacks, striking again and again, but she can tell her attacks aren’t quite getting through the magic surrounding the creature and the unholy aura blasts out again and again at her. Pompous continues firing his arrows and hits the creature twice. The creature lashes out at him again with a sword as he shoots, but he quickly dodges the sword. Michael sits in his corner and weakly drinks a potion to heal his wounds.
The massive creature has been severely damaged by Sigvar and he now has her attention. However, Pompous is between them, so she turns and swords start swinging all over the place, flashing around Pompous and Sigvar. One of the sword concentrates on Pompous, reaching past his defenses (Pompous 34 damage). The other arms all swing around him and towards Sigvar, but none get through his armor! She is now bleeding from many wounds and one arm looks like it will become detached very soon.
OOC: Notes: Yes, the cover AC bonus is working for the Agents as well as against them. So yes, Pru and Sigvar are getting the +4 AC when the creature attacks them (as would Michael). As a note, that’s not non-standard rules. I’m pulling them from the Pathfinder SRD and from the way I read that any time a creature or character with reach attacks through a space with another creature or space, the target has cover. I will seek more clarification and detail on that rule.
On the unholy aura it says, “succeeds on a melee attack,” so I assume that’s per hit.
Anna needs three fort saves DC 25 or take 3, 1, or 1 strength damage.

Still, now that he's a bit more survivable he peeks around Pru and uses his rapier to try and deflect some of the blows from her.

Sigvar continues his attacks, reaching over and around Pompous. The nimble creature avoids each blow. WaterPru carefully casts a spell. She watches as the arrow made of acid flies through the air. It looks like it hits the creature. It starts to sizzle. But the creature doesn’t seem to notice it (resist acid 10). Trayvin attacks and manages to stab the tail that keeps swinging around him, unable to get a grip on him. Anna continues her attacks and with a final bite, manages to bring down the massive creature! In a moment, it fades away from existence and the space is empty. The room is quiet except for the heavy breathing of the Agents, exhausted from the incredible battle.
There are two mostly destroyed sets of black dented armor on the floor beside two shiny long swords the creatures were using.
OOC: Notes: Anna: It is just the DR in the flavor text. The damage applied is the damage you’re doing minus the 10 DR, nothing more on the monster’s defense. As I’m calculating it for this round: hit 1 was 11+4 holy. DR absorbs 10 of the 11 and none of the holy for a total of 5 damage. Second hit of 10 damage, DR absorbs all 10.

the healing magic feels good against the huge gashes that have crusted over from the last healing, this one tastes like orange cream, His pants, his backpack...shoot even his sword weigh almost too much to bear. The thought of walking back to the village with all this is...daunting. so this secure shelter, can you cast it here? I might be able to walk outside the building, might. and I don't think Sigvar can even stand with his armor on. Man, we got to find something to counteract this kind of stuff. I don't think I've ever been as concerned about our chances as I was for this one. of course, part of that could have been me being as useless as Dwarven Shaving soap, but I was really worried. is there a potion or a scroll I can get that'll ward that stuff off?

OOC: Yes, you DO reroll 1's when rolling for healing, that's why we make each die roll separately. This only works for healing from spells. It does not work for healing from potions or scrolls. Correct me if I'm wrong on the potion/scroll thing.
IC: It doesn't take a genius of a leader to see that continuing on would be suicide. "I agree we best take a break and recoup our strength, no pun there. Or, actually, there is." The stress seemed almost overwhelming and perhaps Nikolai's reaction wasn't quite the best.

Sigvar crashes into the wall, exhausted. He is ready to recover, as are the rest of the Agents, after this incredible battle with evil. WaterPru suggests using the secure shelter spell to help not draw evil towards the town. Trayvin agrees and works to heal the injuries he can see for everyone. Michael is still horribly drained and can’t imagine making it all the way back to town. He really wants to find a way to avoid feeling like that ever again. Anna talks about her different shapes and then morphs into one of the strange orcs. She thinks about what could have alerted the armor to their presence, then remember that the group had to force the door to get into that room, and that certainly wasn’t quite. The other door out of the room appears just as stuck as the first one, too.
Nikolai asks Pru about the details behind the secure shelter spell. Pru mentions that she could put it up anywhere, but doesn’t think that the others will make it too far. Pompous talks about heading out and mentions the loot. The armor there seems pretty ruined, but the swords look very shiny. He also remembers that they didn’t look for anything after the giant blue woman attacked them outside. Pompous, standing near the door, offers to scout and peeks out the door. The outside appears just as they left it. There is plenty of room between the castle door and the bridge for a shelter. There is also space to the side, away from the castle, but off the direct pathway from the castle to the bridge. On the far side of the bridge, there is plenty of space just before the town starts as well, that is clear and open.
OOC: I honestly don’t know of a way to prevent ability drain. The only protections against it I can imagine are raising saving throws and stocking up on restoration/lesser restoration potions/scrolls?
The strange orcs were simple orcs with physical mutations.
Ability damage: Those who have received damage from the various magics, this is ability damage. Since it is damage, there’s no set duration. The damage will heal naturally, like hit points, but at the rate of 1 point per day, or 2 points with bed rest. I would think the secure shelter can count as bed rest, so 2 points for 1 night of rest there. Lesser restoration can restore 1d4 points. Restoration appears to restore all ability damage, so that would restore everything for one character.

hey Anna, instead of turning into a messed up orc and scouting, how about you turn into something that can carry me, Sigvar and all of our stuff. Because I'm not really keen on spending my recovery in the Demon infested castle and since Sigvar and I cannot walk out of here and we are both not keen on leaving all our crap behind large really strong 4 legged broad-backed beasts would be good.
Groaning with the effort, Michael starts policing the battlefield. he uses his hoopak to push all the shiny swords into a pile and poke through all the armor to see if he can assemble a full set from all the ruined pieces.
can someone cast detect magic and see if there are any curses on these things before I start touching them.

Michael checks out the battlefield. The armor is just a wreck, it’s going to take a smith and a forge to make something useful out of that. And there’s still some kind of goo on the inside, as if the creatures within were attached to the armor. Pru casts the detect magic as requested and reveals that the swords are indeed quite magical (two anarchic longswords).
The group discusses how to get everyone outside. Trayvin offers a heal, but Michael suggests he heal Sigvar. Nikolai heads outside to find a place to rest. Pru suggests placing the shelter off to the side.
After some additional discussion, Pru pulls out her scroll and points to where Nikolai suggested, a short distance from the castle, off to the side of the pathway towards the bridge and the town. It takes her some time to read the scroll, but as she reads, rocks start moving and appearing in the shape of a foundation in a 20-foot square. The nearby trees rustle as logs appear, quickly building into the shape of a lodge. The roof fills in with wood and straw, completing the structure. There are two open windows with wooden shutters on the front and a tall stone chimney. The door opens and you can see the inside that holds a number of bunks, a long table, stools, and even a desk in the corner.
The Agents now have a secure shelter, but some are still ailing and injured…
OOC: Hope you don’t mind me moving things along, I think I can see the direction the group wants to go here…

depending on what Trayvin does Michael either rides on Sigvars back to the secure shelter or if he is healed he makes several trips back, emptying his pants of plenty and his handy haversack to get his big minotaur friends stuff back to the resting place.
once he's done with that he surveys the defencive situation at this camping location. he considers them to be in enemy territory and plans his defence accordingly he scatters caltrops in front of the door and in front of every window, he makes sure the door will close securely and that they have enough water and firewood for a few days. he stiring line to create alarms in case anyone approaches and lastly he goes and explores the river where the big blue lady lived. if he finds nothing...

If it will be longer he prays for all 4 that he can cast So Michael regains either 7 or 10 strength.

The shelter appears and the group collectively breathes a sigh of relief. Pompous heals himself a bit as Pru suggests making a space for Sigvar to rest. Trayvin heals up Sigvar and works to help as many of the injured agents as he can. Sigvar gathers some wood and the invisible servant inside takes care of tending a fire in the fireplace. Anna ponders obtaining more scrolls to help the group out if they meet more of the same in the castle. Michael checks out the security around the shelter and Pru can tell him about the standard magical security that’s already in place so it’s more secure than it looks from the outside.
Eventually a group is formed up to check for the lair of the blue woman. The area under the bridge is a fast-moving, but small stream. There is the rush of water and you can hear the water crashing over and through the rocks. The water is about twenty feet below the bottom of the white bridge. Along the sides of the water are large and small rocks lining the edges of the water and the area below. The edges are a bit steep, so anyone traversing them would have to move carefully and step carefully so they don’t slip and tumble and so they don’t dislodge any rocks as they move through, but it is clearly passable.
Pompous steps up as others call for detect magic. With his knowledge of nature in the area, he moves and can see an area of eddys that appears in the shadows under the bridge. Examining a little more, he can see the area is actually quite large and looks like it contains what could be a deep section of water that looks still from where he stands. The area he points out is large enough that the large blue creature could easily fit inside it, if the water is deep enough there. He can’t see any tracks across the stone that might lead down there, but there may be more along the edge of the water closer to the eddy and pool.
OOC: No need for rolling out all the healings: if you’ve got ‘em, use ‘em!
Walking down thorough the rocks will take a climb check, DC 10. Failure by 5 or more means you’re going to slip and fall in rocks and maybe the water. Two climb checks would get you to the location under the bridge where the water pools.

He takes his 50' rope and hand and calls over to Trayvin, "Hey, I need that armored bulk of yours to anchor this end of the rope!" One way or another, Nikolai anchors the rope, ties the other end around his waist, and climbs down.

Pru stays in the shelter while the other group explores. She accepts some healing from Trayvin, then tries to get the Unseen Servant to make some kind of meal with the provisions on hand.

In the Lodge, Sigvar lies down in the middle of the floor, just exhausted. A moment later the sounds of the giant taur snoring can be heard even outside the building. Trayvin stays inside with him and provides a little more healing while Sigvar rests to ensure he’s up to par. He also stops Michael from some exploration, ensuring he is healed completely as well. He also heals up Pru who directs the unseen servant to prepare some food. She finds that while the servant is very efficient at following instructions, it really can’t do anything else on its own, so it actually takes quite an effort from Pru to direct its every action. Eventually she manages to get it to prepare a meal for the group.
Meanwhile, outside under the bridge, Pompous heads down the rocks to the pool. He stops and looks around, but a gust of wind blows some of the loose sand in his eyes. Nikolai watches Pompous head down, then calls out to Trayvin, only to find that Trayvin headed inside to take care of injuries. He quickly ties the rope off around the end of the bridge and uses the rope to help himself down over the rocks. He heads to the pool and eyes the water there. Anna turns into a small rat and quickly scampers over the rocks and down with the others. She looks around and into the water and notes that there appear to be some quite shiny things down in the water on the bottom.
OOC: On the drains, I believe that the heal was used on Sigvar, so restorations would be needed for Michael. I’m not sure how many points he was down at the end.
The water in the pool is in an eddy, so there’s not an issue with the current pulling characters away if they decide to explore the pool. The pool is about twenty feet deep and about twenty feet in diameter. Swimming: swim DC 10 once per round while in the water. Success means you can move up to half your speed. Failure by 4 or less, you make no progress. While underwater, you can hold your breath for a number of rounds equal to twice your constitution score. With those rules and the size of the pit, it should be relatively easy to swim in and explore the area without running out of breath. For each attempt to swim in and explore, you will need two successful swim checks (one going in and one going out) and a perception check to look around the area underwater.

Trayvin helps Pru with the meal, so the Agents have something warm to eat after swimming around in the river.
Trayvin casts a few spells to help Michael, with Sigvar's help this should get him back to fighting shape.

OOC- spells to be cast after the group rests. This should save Sigvar a few spells.

Pru glances at Sigvar, sprawled asleep on the floor, and decides he needs rest more than food. She makes sure that dinner is keeping warm by the fireplace, and moves to sit on one of the bunks.
"Hey, Trayvin? Can you do that cantrip that makes water? Um...orison, I mean. Not cantrip. Sorry. But we could heat some water so people could wash up if they wanted."

Octopus Anna takes a 5 foot step into the water where her 20 foot swim speed checks in. (Pretty sure her octopus form paired with the swim speed means she can explore at leisure without have to worrying about drowing)

Inside the lodge Trayvin helps Pru prepare some food for the others while he helps Michael restore damage. Sigvar snores on the ground while Pru ponders waking him up for food. She decides to let him continue to rest while she asks Trayvin for water.
Meanwhile, down under the bridge: Nikolai jumps in to explore underwater. He quickly spots a very shiny set of chainmail armor on the bottom and a very dark black longsword. They are both in excellent shape, so clearly they are magical or else they have only been underwater for a short time. He can manage to grab them and make it back to the shore. Anna turns into octopus Anna and starts wandering around under the water. She quickly spots all the shiny places in the soft sand at the bottom of the water: gold, gold, and more gold. As she looks, she realizes that most of the bottom of the pool here is covered with gold pieces. She can start grabbing them, eight at a time, but it is going to take a long time to get all that gold up from the bottom. As she pulls out one piece, she can see it is layers deep (there are a total of 10,000 individual gold pieces layered on the bottom of this pool).
Pompous watches the others slip into the water while he takes off his gear. When he’s ready, he does a cannonball into the water. He laughs to himself as he swims around and explores. The experienced ranger can clearly see the telltale signs of a lair. He spots the indentations along the floor of the pool here where the blue woman clearly lived. As he explores around he sees Anna and the gold pieces, but his keen eyes also pick up a few additional shiny spots! Swimming over to check them out, he first finds a number of white emeralds. When he touches one of those, he sees there are also some green emeralds scattered about as well. Now that he’s looking for gems, he sees a blue one as well and notices some blue star sapphires here and there (total of 10 white emeralds, 10 green emeralds, and 5 blue star sapphires).

There should be plenty now for cooking, drinking, and cleaning up. Cantrips or orisons, they seem pretty similar to me. I guess the difference is in the style, and how the magic is accessed. I have wondered sometimes, if it would be possible for those who practice magic to study outside traditional discipline. Imagine a cleric casting fireballs, and a sorcerer casting healing spells. It would certainly make things interesting.

Nikolai deposits his find onto the rocks and when he hears there is a lot of coins, decides it best to gather them up in backpacks.
"Let's make a relay. I'll gather up our backpacks and empty them and bring them here. Pompous and Ana will fill them up. Bring them up and tie them to my rope, I'll hoist them up."

Back on top he unties the rope around his waste and runs back to their secure lodge and gathers up several backpacks, telling the others what they've found. Back to the edge with the backpacks, he hands them to Pompous and Ana and the loot gathering starts.

Pompous assists in the loot recovery. He starts with the gems and then helps with the coins.
For some unknown reasons his sings a little tune to himself during the recovery mission " Hi Ho, hi ho, it's off to the mines we go!"
" Hey, my armor also allows me to fly... maybe I can use that to help ferry the loot back up?" And after he climbs back to his armor, he does.

While Sigvar snores, Trayvin and Pru prepare the lodge for the night. There are pots of water for every need ready. Pru has to raise her voice to be heard over the snoring of Sigvar at times. They wonder how they’re going to sleep with that noise going on all night.
Meanwhile, back under the bridge, Anna brings up some gold and tells the others about it. Nikolai runs back to the magical lodge and grabs some bags, quickly returning to the water. Pompous starts singing to himself as he makes many trips up and down with Anna. After quite some time, the group is able to bring all the gems, gold, armor, and sword up from the depths of the former lair. As the sun heads towards the horizon, the group manages to get all the stuff up from the lair, through the rocks, and to the magical lodge.

After they have successfully salvaged everything from the lair and worked with the others to get all the loot up to Pru's shelter Anna goes from Octopus to Dire Rat to her normal self on her way back to the shelter using the form that is most advantageous to her in each scenario.
She is actually going to rest this night considering she had need to recover the strength she lost from the woman with the blades blasted aura.
