Elyngael wanders over to the Triple T for a cold cider. She sits down and casually observes the other patrons as she savors her drink. It's nice to relax, but it would be even nicer if she could strike up a conversation with a fellow Ranger.

Vamir almost snaps out of tree form when the new voice touches his ears, "Your voice is strange, and I do not know you. Normally when I reach out Queen Maab answers, but lately there has been more and more quiet. I do not understand, and honestly the lack of understanding is a bit frightening. You say you are from the south. How does my voice reach you?"
Melzat senses Vamir's uneasiness, and slowly walks around the tree formed witch looking for a way to comfort Vamir.
DM Jeremy Monday August 17th, 2020 6:16:03 AM Neshi After returning with the cash from the loot sale, Neshi wanders off on his own for a while with a desire to commune with the elements for a few days, and clear his head. On the second day of his sabbatical, Neshi is wandering about, and comes upon a man sitting next to a campfire roasting a brace of rabbits. As he approaches the fire, Neshi sees what appears to a human male though a closer look reveals wings similar to a dragon fly's on his back, though they are folded up at the moment. The man with the dragon fly wings beckons Neshi join him and hands him a skewered and perfectly roasted rabbit. As the man takes the second rabbit for himself, he says to the liontaur, "I've been expecting you!"
Osul The druid finds himself chipping in at various places as he is working, to help right as many wrongs as possible, that were caused by the evil duo of Francisco and Otaktay. In his efforts, he runs upon a unexpected sight. He sees Wiz-Bang helping out in the rebuilding of a home. The diminutive Greenmage himself is of little help obviously, but he seems to have some friends. He has half a dozen dire apes, that he most likely summoned hauling lumber up to the roof and pitching in anywhere heavy lifting is required. Wiz-Bang also seems to have gained a plant friend, that resembles a birch tree, who is also helping out. when Wiz-Bang sees Osul he scampers over to his friend and says "Wiz-Bang glad Wardens are home, and glad to see druid friend. Wiz-Bang not much help, but tree friend and summoning magic make up for Wiz-Bang's small size."
Armand "We completely understand", Grenad replies, " I was simply instructed to offer the position to you, and if you declined than I am to take the position. In truth, I was told that you would probably decline due to the important work you do with the Tree Wardens, but out of courtesy I was to offer the position anyway, and to inform you that at anytime you changed your mind, the position is still yours." When Armand offers the use off the Warden's library, Folbre says, "That may be a better accommodations than the triple t, it will only be for a few months, Let me know what the other Wardens say, as without a consensus, we won't barge in on your home."
Elyngael As Elyngael scans the tavern, she spies a familiar face. Caleb Amethyst, ranger, and chief aid to Lord Protector Hiram Tubalcain, of Owen's homeland, Caleb sees the elven ranger, and lifts his drink, both as a means of recognition, and as a invitation to join him.
Vamir Lady Watcher chuckles a bit as she says, "Oh there is very little my ear misses. I understand your frustration, not being able to commune with your patron must be difficult. That said, my sisters and I can offer you something that it appears you desire, understanding, well the means to obtain it anyway. While we can't give you insight on Maab's silence we can give you the ability to understand with but a touch. If that sounds interesting, all one needs to do is break your contract with Maab, by signing a new one with us."

Armand smiles and nods. "Well good that's settled then. As soon as I can I will see to rounding up the Wardens and getting a consensus. In the meantime, would you care to come and see what's what. Our stewart James has been seeing to buying any books off caravans that pass through." Armand will lead the three Sages up to the head quarters and introduce them to James and show them the library.
When they get to the tree house, "Oh James. We have some visitors. This is Madam Fleceil Waterslipper, Master Grenad Blueshrub, and Master Lew Fernleaf from the Sages guild."
"As you can see the library is on the second floor and overlooks the front of the building."

Elyngael sees Caleb raise his tankard and accepts his invitation by walking over to him. "Greetings, Caleb! I was wishing for some company. What brings you to the Triple T?" She sits ready to listen to someone else's adventures.

Don't get me wrong, you still have and always had free will, I just gave you those gentle nudges that lead you here"
Osul and Owen Osul realizes that the large-sized birch tree looking creature is a Greenmage's plant companion, and is able to surmise that Wiz-Bang must have decided to create his. Owen arrives, and sees the wee primate pitching in, with his summoned apes and plant companion. Wiz-Bang is excited to see Owen an scampers over to give the mage a hug. Wiz-Bang asks Owen and Osul, "Wiz-Bang not name tree friend yet, does Druid friend, or Wizard friend know what to call him?"
Armand As Armand invites the three sages to view the Warden's Library, the three excitedly except, and Folbre takes his leave. "The pleasure is mine" James says as Armand introduces the three sages, "Would anyone like a cup of tea while you peruse the library? The three sages graciously accept James's offer, so the butler heads to the kitchen to heat the tea. "What a diverse collection", Felceil exclaims as the sages scan the titles. "Very diverse indeed" Lew adds, "Would these be added to the branch library? If so I fear some of these titles wouldn't be able to be made available to the public, I don't think a guide to becoming a Lich is something we would want to let the general public read, though it was wise of you to hold onto such a book, for research means as well as to keep it from falling into the wrong hands."
Elyngael "And to you friend Elyngael." Caleb returns the greeting. "In truth I am here because the Lord Protector heard of the attack on our friends and allies here at the Tree of Parting, and he sent me to see if aid of any kind was needed. I delivered some financial aid, with orders to return post-haste if more was needed, including a detachment of the Lord Protectors army if there was need. He even equipped me with a pair of boots of teleportation, as he felt that speed was of the essence, but upon arrival, I learned that you and your friends had repelled the attack, and were going on the offense. So after sending my lord an animal messenger, I decided to stay around to chip in and help clean up and do some repairs. Today is my last day at the Tree of Parting, as I must return home tomorrow. By Domi it is good to see you though! Am I correct in assuming the threat has been dealt with"
Vamir "Oh, I wouldn't doubt that Maab would be upset, but I think she'll understand, and after all if you chose to sign a contract with us, we will be there to help. besides, we don't ask that you forsake Maab completely, you are still welcome to revere her, for that matter you can revere any god or power you wish, as long as we are the ones who receive your devotion, and of course your rituals" Lady Watcher explains. "You wish to better understand what we have to offer?", she continues, "We can give you the ability to identify and gain knowledge of anyone with simply a touch, we can also give you the ability to see or hear from great distances. To sign a contract all you must due is offer us a few drops of your blood, and swear your devotion, and we will handle the rest."

Armand sort of shrugs. "I'd think that the how to become a lich book and the works of the surface Drow named Drachen: he was experimenting with crossing animal life with plant life, should be put someplace very safe. I'm not sure the Tree is the best place for them. Which library branch would you consider the most secure?

Once he has their reponses, he walks slowly and deliberately to the house, advises James, and asks if there is anything he needs towards dinner. On his way out, he cannot miss Armand and the sages, and goes through introductions before heading back around to Owen and Wiz-Bang.

Vamir listens to the Lady's voice contemplating his choice. The witch wanders through various memories with his mother, and her reverence for Queen Maab. A fragment of a memory flits through his mind, "...Maab is my choice, it does not have to be yours....choices have consequences....Maab is just..." Vamir exhales almost violently causing his limbs to shake, and causing Melzat to race around his trunk again. "I accept your offer, knowledge is what I seek, and what you offer. However, with the understanding we enter this as equals, with both of us gaining from this. Do I need to drop out of tree form to complete our pact?"

It was very generous of the Lord Protector to supply you with boots of teleportation. It's good to hear a Ranger valued as you obviously are. It's been a pleasure to sit and visit awhile. Since you don't have to leave immediately, you should join the Wardens for a bit of supper. They will never forgive me if I don't bring you round, plus there's a rumor of barbecue!" Elyngael ushers Caleb out of the Triple T to join the others.

When Armand see's 'Osul he broaches the idea of allowing the Sages to use the Library as a base of operations until a more permanent sages hall can be built at the tree.
When James returns he has some tea with the Sages and discusses their thoughts on the building they wish to build.

What the gods and powers consider gentle, or sometimes not so gentle nudges, may be seen as fate, or a lack of free will. That said, one can always ignore the nudges, which is free will, but bad things tend to happen when people make those decisions, thus the debate of the ages continues. Anyway, enough philosophy for one day, I have something for you, a gift for your devotion, and consistent heroism, as you will." With that, the man offers Neshi a pair of gauntlets made from red dragon scales. "I feel you are going to need these in the days to come!" Then in a blink of an eye, the man, and the campfire are gone, and Neshi is left standing alone holding the gifted gauntlets, a leg of roasted rabbit, and a feeling that his sabbatical has accomplished what it was supposed to do.
Osul and Owen Osul asks what to have for dinner, and Owen when suggests BBQ, runs off to deliver the message to James. Osul introduces himself to Grenad Blueshrub, Fleceil Waterslipper, and Lew Fernleaf. They both agree that Wiz-Bang will find the right name for his companion eventually.
Armand "Well," Grenad begins, "The safest place would be in the vault at the main branch at The Floating City, and we can certainly send it there via our book deposit, for safe keeping, if that seems good to you." Both Fleceil and Lew nod their agreement.
Elyngael "That sounds grand I would love to see the rest of the Wardens, and I love BBQ! Caleb answers as he follows Elyngael to Tree Warden HQ.
Vamir "In your current state, it would be hard to make the blood offering", Lady Watcher answers, "And of course we all gain equally from this. My Sisters and I lend you our power in exchange for your devotion, and the power we gain from that and your rituals." Vamir ends his Tree Shape spell, draws his dagger, and pricks his finger, allowing the requisite three drops of blood to fall to the ground. As he does so, his cauldron begins to vibrate violently. Melzat, ever the faithful companion, runs to his masters side, grabs the cauldron and begins to run away, fearing it may harm Vamir. When Melzat is about 30ft away, the cauldron explodes, raining down what looks like gold dust on the plant companion. The gold dust coats Melzat from head to roots, and as he tries to shake it off, instead of falling off, Melzat's body begins to absorb it. As his body absorbs the gold dust, the small sized plant companion begins to grow at an alarming pace, until he is the size of an ogre, at which point the growth spurt stops.

Before he could even give thanks to Eberyon, The king is departed leaving the fancy new gauntlets/gloves behind and Neshi's sense of having followed the right path, at least this time.
Slipping them on his hands, they fit like they were made for him, and he guesses that is the point. He heads back to the tree and arrives just in time to apparently join a BBQ.

Vamir watches the blood drip from his finger, barely noticing the shaking cauldron initially. As Melzat run off the witch yells after him to stop. As he sees the explosion, and sudden growth of his companion, "what has happened? Melzat, are you ok?" Vamir turns back to the blood on the ground, "Was this you? A gift from you?"

'Osul works through the afternoon, with Owen and Wiz-Bang - they seem to make an effective team. He puts some time into fixing things (several Lenna's Greater Mending spells, plus Mending Orizon on tap, and contributing to Wiz-Bang's laborers) and consults widely (people pass by, and he asks them to ask specific people, etc.) about what to do about the ground where the battle and lead up took place. His idea is to get some earth elements to scour it back to rock and maybe set up an amphitheatre and/or return the space to open fields, or similar. If the residents are going to have to see this space everyday, then let it be something they can feel better about it being. That's for tomorrow.
Come an appropriate hour, he makes sure he, Owen and Wiz-Bang are headed for dinner.
