OOC: woa! Pru at 17th level? I thought we were just moved up to 16th. Nikolai was at 15th, was he still a level behind?

Recharging Staves: Each morning, when a spellcaster prepares spells, or regains spell slots, he can also imbue one staff with a portion of his power so long as one or more of the spells cast by the staff is on his spell list and is capable of casting at least one of the spells.

SO all I need is Cure Serious Wounds spell energy imbued into the staff to get one charge back per slot.

Do I misunderstand how it works?
However it works, if you got any spell energy of that slot left before we rest, please use it to recharge the staff of healing.

IC: Before Nikolai goes to bed, he tries on the Monk Robe he picked up. He feels extraordinarily more monkish than when he takes it off. It is of some comfort that those dwarven monks weren't all that much better than he without those monk robes and those belts of giant strength.

"There's bound to be sentries, but let's see if we can get Michael up close, invisible, to sniff them out. Any other ideas on how best to tackle the cave entrance?"

Anna prays for her at will SLA to be Alter Self for the day

She says to her fistmates, "If you guys think Eidnith is burned then I'll turn into someone who doesn't look like one of us and go in alone as a potential convert to their cult. If Pru casts telepathic bond, then I think we are ok."

Yes you do it seems. We cannot recharge it at the end of the day with 'leftover' spells. So no " If you have spells left over add a charge". The recharge needs to be deliberate and done when memorizing spells in the morning and thus sacrificing that spell slot for the day. Especially for Sigvar since he can not just turn any 3rd level spell (4th level spell for him) into a cure serious like a cleric, he actually needs to memorize the spell. Trayvin would need to recharge it with his memorized spells in the morning, not leftover spells at the end of the day. Also I believe we can each only restore one charge per day.

"On taking the cave we need to be a bit ruthless. No runners, no calls for help, I almost think we might want a silence spell on us as long as we can maintain it. Our strength here is that we overwhelm each group we meet quickly and not let them summon aid and draw out the fight."
" My main question is do we go in primed for the dragon or do we save those defensive spells until we see if he is there. My defensive spells will last almost three hours, but is that long enough to secure the cave and find the dragon?"

Yep, looking at that last bit of the paragraph, it's just 1 charge per day, and must be specifically set aside for that from the beginning of the day, or when you pray to regain your spells.

The divine casters hash out how to properly recharge the staff with Nikolai while preparing for the day ahead.

Pru acknowledges her struggles with math. Good thing her power comes from the force of her personality rather than book learnin.

Sigvar finishes his inventory of his gear (yea, finish up your orders) and Pompous makes sure that he's familiar with his new sword.

Anna and Nikolai finalize plans to get some intel, but Michael seems extra sleepy and may need some coffee before he's ready to spy.

They've been scoping out the entrance, and have seen nobody going in or out. However they're proceeding, they just need to pull the trigger.

Michael slept as hard as he has ever slept, when he hit the hay he didn't even think to set his traps or sleep beneath the bed as is his habit. when he awakens he has been sleeping so deep he does not know where he is for a moment.

He gets out of bed, grabs some coffee and breakfast.
boy that fight really took it out of me, I've not rested that hard in ages. Yeah turn me invisible and cast silence on a rock. that I can carry with me. (YAWN!) Oh my...anyway since I'm going to be silenced do we have some form of telepathy we can use so I can communicate with yall while I scout? scratch that...I'm not leading an assault, I'm looking over the territory so Nikolai and Anna can enter and know what's going on. Sorry still a bit muzzy from the sleep. can Pru teleport us in to where Nikolai and Anna are once they call for us? or are we going to have to assault to their location? .

So it sounds like we've got an Altered Anna, Hatted Nikolai, and invisible/silenced Michael, all telepathically linked to Pru. Please give me stealth, perform, bluff, perception, or whatever rolls relevant to your approach to the cave.

All others, where are you staying? The mansion will be around all day if you're staying inside, or give me stealth, perception, etc if you're observing the others.

Pru casts extended Mage Armor on herself and Nikolai.

She casts Telepathic Bond to include...wow, everybody. There's six of us, right? Pru can get herself plus five, so yeah--everybody.

She casts Invisibility on Michael.

"I have the spell slots," she says. "How about I make everybody else invisible, too? I mean, not the ones in disguise, obviously. But me and Sigvar and Pompous and Trayvin. We could follow along invisibly at a distance."

Anna says, "Being that those Dwarven monks were with the cult they obviously have Dwarves among their ranks; therefore I'm going to adopt for my disguise the form of a male dwarf with a big red bushy beard."

Anna uses her Alter Self At Will SLA to adapt the form of a dwarf gaining +2 to her Strength and Darkvisio but reducing her base speed to 20 feet. She also gains the +10 bonus polymorph adds to her disguise

Her armor adapts to her slightly smaller form and she keeps the buckler she just acquired and the bow strapped to her back.

"I'm thinking I'm still an out of towner and somewhat wealthy and eccentric, hence my possessions and interest in the dragon cult."

As she goes on ahead with her invisible backup; she keeps a sharp eye out for her surroundings and tests the ability of the telepathy with all her fist mates

The Agents begin their infiltration with a few furious rounds of casting from Pru. She armors up herself and Nik for the day, provides all but one a psychic link (who's left out?), and makes a certain small man invisible to the naked eye.

Sigvar has cast his enchantments for the day, ready for battle. Trayvin is ready to follow, either invisibly or not. Pompous also likes the idea of sneaking up on his enemies unseen.

Nik has his new gear ready to go, then camouflages it all beneath his hat. Anna shrinks down to dwarfy stature and tries to get used to seeing the world from this angle. She and Nikolai proceed to the cave entrance, and after a few deep breaths, step inside.

An eccentric dwarf and a elven cookware merchant look around a dark corridor, alert for any danger. The tunnel entrance is narrow, but opens up to about 10 feet wide after a dozen strides. Down the corridor they can hear some sounds. There is someone here, and they're not trying to keep quiet. The tunnel opens up about 30 feet in front of you, and there is a glow akin to some torches that may be spread around the space.

Sigvar tries to be quiet, he really does. He stays still where he is and waits to hear what the scouts encounter. If he was to move up he might step on the other invisible people too, so he stays still until told it is clear ahead and he can move up some.

Trayvin knows he's not stealthy, so he stays back until he hears the call to enter. Luckily for Sigvar and the others, being invisible makes up for a lot of things. Any other noise is handily covered up by Anna's playing as she and Nikolai stroll confidently into the cave.

Pompous and Michael are stealthy enough to come right up with the front crew. At the sounds of feet and music, the noise from the cavern stops for a moment.

You can bet that there are only lights in here for the sake of potential converts, as none of the folks in here need them. You see a group of seven dwarfs scattered about a fair sized cavern. They seem normal, except for their skin is an ashy gray colour.

The one holding the guitar speaks up as you enter. "Who's this that comes to us in our home? New converts? Or intruders?"

"Aye lad, now seeing as how I was raised by gnomes, I've had to learn about things a dwarf should know. Did you know that like Halflings there are different types of dwarves? hill Dwarves, Mountain Dwarves, and then the Dreaded Dugar.'

when the memory finishes, Michael sends a message to Pru via the link. "I think these are Dugar, Pru, bad evil dwarves. and the fact they are asking if we are converts...well I think they have pretty much admitted they are part of the group that attacked us.".

Sigvar slowly reaches out around himself, looking for the others that stayed back. When he finds an armored shoulder he is sure that must be Trayvin. The squishy shoulder must be Prudence. It'll hinder his ability to draw his weapons and fight quickly, but he keeps a hand on each of their shoulders.
When Michael gives the word that there are Grey Dwarves ahead Sigvar very quietly whispers this to Trayvin, so that the Half orc has some clue what is going on up ahead.
Aside from that he stands still and waits for instructions to move up.

Trayvin does some brainstorming about protocols for invisible group movement. They would come in handy if they have more of these infiltration style missions. Sigvar makes sure he knows where his companions are, and fills in Trayvin quietly on what's going on.

Pru hangs out and makes sure that her spells are still functioning properly.

Nikolai "plays" along with Anna, though it works better as a disguise for any extra noises his invisible teammates may make. It may even be intentional.

Anna shows off her gear and wishes she could join the camaraderie of this group.

Anna as Rimli says, "Oh yes Eidnith. She gave us quite the sermon with respect to Ma'ab and friendship with living things and keeping an open mind and true forms. It was very impressive. A paladin of another deity who happened to be present for the sermon even was swayed by her arguments concerning true forms and wanted to seek out the truth for himself. The whole sermon started when a green humanoid plant woman who claimed to be a 'champion of the queen' (her words) showed up and started asking a bunch of questions. The two women got into somewhat of a heated philosophical argument. We weren't sure how long their debate would last so Cegolas and I thought we'd check things out for ourselves and now we are here. You don't think that humanoid plant woman meant Eidnith any harm do you?"

With Nikolai's playin now stopped, he makes sure there are enough rattles with his pots and pans hanging from his backpack to provide a decent background noise to mask his friends. The echoes in the caves help too.

The loud invisibles form a chain. Pru lets out a little telepathic 'oof' to remind Sigvar how strong he is. Michael gives him some stealth pointers too, and comes just short of physically holding up his foot to help him place it more gently on the ground.

Nikolai and Pompous look around the room, but see no place they could think of to hide. The tunnel "Rimli" and "Cegolas" are being beckoned towards has a matching one on the west side, but there are no convenient ledges for snipers or hideyholes for surprise ambushes to help either party.

Aratorn chats easily enough with you as he walks towards the eastern tunnel mouth, idling playing his guitar while he walks. You can tell he's quite proficient with it. He's picked up on Anna's melody and has embellished and refined it already. There's no light coming from the tunnel, and you can't see much past the opening. You can tell though that it's dwarf sized, and anyone taller or wider will have limited mobility. Are you following?

Sigvar stays out here. we go inside. when things look to be heading south in the deception sigvar starts a rukus out here, everybody in there turns their attention toward the entrance and we catch them in a pincher movement...the ultimate flank. Pru can stay out here with him...that way if the combat starts in the place we are going she can 'port the both of them to where the action is.

Aratorn cocks his eye at Niko.... Cegolas. Hmmn, could have sworn I could see some elfin features about you, but if your eyes aren't up to the task, you can take a light. Your friend can hold your hand of course, but it would be a shame to stop that music!

He leads you down the dark tunnel, which bends to the north and back around west to a much larger cavern. This one has rows of benches and an altar at the far end. Aratorn directs you to sit at the back and heads off, ostensibly to find the high priest he mentioned.

Anna and Nikolai continue their performance while seated at the back of the large hall. They can see a few people coming and going at the far end, but the duties don't seem to be anything out of the ordinary for a place of worship. Tending candles, cleaning pews and altars, and the like.

Their host seems gone a long time, and their eyes occasionally start to lose focus, as if from boredom or drowsiness.

Anna, Nikolai, and anyone that joined them - will save 22 (mind-affecting) as the smoke from your torch seems to coalesce around you.

Michael leaves Sigvar, Pompous, and Pru at the other end of the tunnel as he follows Nikolai and Anna into the "temple. he finds a place to observe that is hidden, even without invisibility, and sets to watch whats going on. he suspects a trap, then again he always suspects a trap so he tries to focus on what may be signs that this is a trap. it's boring, and as always staying awake on a watch is a challenge, but it's a challenge Michael knows well.

Pru, Sigvar, and Trayvin hold themselves alert, waiting for the notice to come assist if necessary. Pompous keeps his eyes on the visible group members.

Nikolai's keen senses is the only one to pick up on the possible dangers. He quickly ascertains that it's not his party invisibly around them. Or at least it's more than just Michael. He can't read exactly where people may be, but he can tell there's at least a few of them.

As they're worrying about being burned, Aratorn comes back in the room. I hope you didn't get too bored waiting, the high priest will see you now. Come right this way! He beckons them towards a door in the back of the room that they hadn't quite noticed before. It appears to be a door to an office, presumably belonging to the high priest.

Anna thinks at the others I can get blind sense but it will totally blow my cover, a dragon, a mobat, a direbat or a dark mantle suddenly popping up where a dwarf was is anything but subtle. If we are doing this , should I just go dragon or save it?

Michael cannot pinpoint any of the invisible figures. It seems that they are standing as still as he, waiting for the shoe to drop. The rest of the Agents are holding themselves ready, not wanting to spoil the ruse if it's still working, but not wanting to leave their insiders in the lurch if things go south.

I don't know if Nikolai resisted it too or not. If he didn't I'm going with him and I'll play along like I didn't resist until I perceive a threat at which case I'l react accordingly. It may finally be time for me to Dragon depending on how this shakes out. The rest of the Fist might want to be ready - things might be about to Get Real

Anna will see what happens with Nikolai. If he fails to resists or plays along she will go with him with a readied action use Queen's Shape as soon as she perceives a threat.

If the jig is up and Nikolai reacts now as if it is up then she will activate her barkskin SLA

With anna's admission that something was tried upon them, conditions for an attack were satisfied for Michael.

Pru as soon as they get to the place he is taking them I'm going to need you to get yourself, Trayvin, Sigvar and Pompous to them. I am going to hang back and en place a few surprises for our invisible friends. Come out swinging, there's some bad juju going on.

Michael downs a potion of darkvision. he puts the bottle back in his pocket to prevent detection.

he creeps ever so carefully over to where Nikolai and Anna went with the Durgar. since he cannot set pitons to attach string to, he looks for places to tie sting to. it's dark in the tunnel so the dark vision comes in handy.

he sets up trip lines 3 in all. the first one drags a taglefoot bag underfoot, the second one busts a bottle of acid and the third just trips them. he has fine wire, fishing hooks and glue. something can be done.

Nikolai - Continued:

Nikolai shrugs off the seemingly innocent command but had a pull on his mind that was definitely an attempt to force him to follow. What must have saved him was his mindset to be inquisitive as much as possible to buy his Team some time, and the fact that he was aware of some invisible lurkers.

Nikolai's hair on the back of his neck stood out as he sensed danger closing in. If they didn't play along, those invisible ones would probably strike!

"Ah indeed. Every experience is different. But wait a moment. Let me divest of all these clanking pots and pans before we go in. I want to be presentable and I'm sure I'll need to remove them anyway. No point in making the High Priestess wait and suffer all this clanking."

Nikolai starts plucking off pots and pans strapped to his backpack and belt and jacket and laying them, rather noisily, in a pile at his feet. While doing so he mentally signals the group, "This is it folks. We need to catch all these in here while the area favors us. Strike NOW!"

At the signal, Nikolai takes his last pot and flings it mightily at Aratorn:

Aratorn casually leans out of the way of the thrown pot. Bad choice my friend. We would have gone easy on you, but now you'll join Rimli with the other dwarf slaves! His music turns sinister, and all of you cannot resist being shaken to your core All are shaken unless you're immune to fear (-2 to most rolls) - no save as far as I can tell.

being invisible Michael's attack will catch Aratorn flat footed, at least it should. He steps in front of the bard and being careful not to get caught in his own trip wire, lets loose on the evil Drugar. He plants the first blow right through the sound hole of that foul guitar he's playing.

Yes please on the SR rolls. The flying rocks were magic for overcoming DR

Aratorn has probably never seen true combat, used to letting his words overwhelm and control people. He looks briefly surprised as sword wounds crisscross his body before falling over. As easy as that, his music has ended. moved Michael on the map to where he said he was.

Sigvar steps up, appearing out of nowhere to cut down the duergar trying to stab Nikolai. Even Nikolai is surprised a bit at the sudden replacement of gray dwarf with red mist.

Since Aratorn has already fallen, Pompous can easily switch targets to one of the rock throwers, who is cut down just as quickly.

Nikolai is able to step up to the second melee combatant, deliver a solid punch to the face and then knock him on his back. He is now staring up at an angry monk and a black dragon head.

The last one standing holds his hands to his head and screams. The closest Agents (Nikolai, Anna, Michael) feel a horrific pressure behind their temples. Will Save DC18 or be stunned for 2 rounds Then he runs back into the corridor behind him, the echoes of the scream fading behind him.

It would appear that the runner was frightened enough to not worry about his downed companion and caught him with the blast full on. He lolls in Nikolai's grip as he folds him into a shape not unlike a pretzel to hold him down.

Most of the Agents wonder if they expended too much power on these few. Aratorn obviously thought that his covert group could take the 2 converts with not many problems. Instead, he and 4 of his allies now lie dead on the floor, and another is wandering through some infernal maze. He thought he had found the exit for a second, but it led to another dead end. int check 19

Still, it is simple to tell that these quickly killed duergar aren't the ones from the entry cavern, and the size of this cavern would indicate that they have quite a few people that regularly attend services. If you plan to question the one here, you'll have to wait around a few seconds while he comes back to his senses.

Sigvar looks around at the walls and ceiling. The caverns are carved directly from the rock - you don't see any other supports.

Trayvin starts compiling a list of questions and plans to keep them from being surprised by reinforcements. Michael spends a few moments catching up. He'd like to move some furniture to impede reinforcements, but it's much too heavy for him alone. Filling up a tunnel with ice or causing a cave-in is floated.

The dwarf looks like he's been listening the whole time. His ears and eyes seem to have kept working though he wasn't able to do anything else. He doesn't bother struggling against his bonds, instead choosing to spit on his captors.

You will all join that old woman in a cell soon enough! At least until the master decides to make you his dinner!

Michael is in awe of how the big Minotaur operates. getting info from him with noble arrogance as if he were a fly not worth his time.

Michael thinks of tormenting the dwarf some more but decides that his time will be better spent setting up and ambush on the oncoming reinforcements.

how high is the ceiling? is there wall above the entrance to this tunnel where the guard ran out? if there is Michael spends a bit of time getting up on the wall, the better to jump down behind them once they enter. he even takes time to drive a piton into the rock to give himself something to hold onto.

Maze does say banished to an extra-dimensional space. So he'll pop in either after 10 minutes or once he rolls a pretty dang high INT check. Which is now.

Nikolai opens the door, but rather than the office space he was expecting, it's another corridor leading off into the darkness. It's as cramped as the one that they walked through to get here and bends off to the west after 30 feet or so.

Michael might be a little jealous of Anna as he climbs the wall to find a vantage point. He tries to position himself above the corridor, where there is indeed room to maneuver. This space is well vaulted (20 feet high).

Pompous keeps ever vigilant, while Sigvar goads the small man, and Pru turns on the charm.

Those others were just chattel, there to die for the cause. He looks like he's going to answer Pru when the mazed Duergar pops back into the room. He shouts to him instead. Alert the barracks! Go!

Sigvar was ready for the reappearance and gets a solid hit in. It's not quite enough to down him though, as he wipes away some blood, casts a spell, and disappears. defensive casting successfull, no aoo

I was going to place me ambush positon above the door that they left out of. if that is the northern door I may be in position to get him when he passes through. but if the other dwarf left out of another door then I would be either above the east or west door. (So I get the impression that people other than me on the map may not be where they really are, which makes it tough to decide what to do. Sigvar has dust of Appearance, but without a decent idea of where the guy went or who if anyone is between him and freedom he can't really use it. Of course if he can get it off likely Pompous will staple the guy to the wall. This leaves me with a bunch of 'if then' statements for you, sorry)
IF Sigvar is given an approximate whereabouts of the Deurgar he will move that way and either bump into the guy or get close enough to dose him with dust of appearance (10' radius burst). If he bumps into him he will dose him with the dust as well and hope for Pompous to murder him.
If no one can make that perception roll (Gods know Sigvar can't) and guide Sigvar he will have to stand there looking for the blood trail and try to follow it.

Nikolai takes a gamble. He calculates that the duegar will run towards the exit the other one ran through. Michael, where he is positioned cannot meaningfully effect where the north dwarf is going, so He just hopes that the attack comes from his door instead of the north door. thinking about it a bit he figures he might need to suggest some things just in case they don't catch him.

Pru identifies the spell, but keeps her focus on the interrogation. She seems to be getting through to him too. I'm pretty new here, and not super into the whole Maab thing anyway. The others, they're more diehard. Let me go, I can get my buddies from the entry hall to shove off. Back in the barracks though, they will fight to the death for the dragon, and they won't be the pushovers we were.

Sigvar and Anna can't make hide nor hair about where the dwarf went, but they prepare for responding if they find him.

Michael and Trayvin keep at their posts, making sure that no one will be able to surprise them coming in from the entry corridors.

All things considered though, the duergar wasn't that stealthy to begin with, and Nikolai and Pompous's keen senses pick up his footfalls. He's quickly limned by ghostly light from Nikolai's tattoo.

He isn't sticking around to get caught though, and sprints directly east to head out the northeast corridor.

Sigvar hears Trayvin's words and pauses. These guys were evil, but like the dwarf had said, pushovers. There was no honor in killing fodder that would flee given the chance. Besides, the goal here was the commander, not stamping out pissant little evildoers. He sees Trayvin's look of 'if the others agree...' and speaks up.
" I can live with them getting out of here, provided that layout gets us to the commander on the double. I would add that they try to do good in the Wold or things like us will happen to them but I doubt it would do much good. So what I will say is don't come back and don't cross us. Second chances are for taking, not squandering."

Hampered as he is by lack of knowledge of magic, the dwarf can't contest Pru's arcane ability. That explains how you got your big friend in here.

Nikolai hears the duergar start reciting some arcane words then gurgles up some blood as an arrow pierces him and he goes limp. Well, Nikolai can't complain too much about not having another prisoner to question. At least there's another reason for the remaining duergar pawns to abandon ship, uhm, cave.

He drags the dead invisible sparkly duergar back to the temple room and plops him down with the other dead.

Nikolai wonders about the sincerity of this duergar. He knows little about this offshoot of the dwarves, except they were willing to partner up with an evil dragon and falsely parade around as worshipers of a distorted version of Maab. He remembers having found some gnolls that were willing to put away their evil nature, so maybe a duergar can too.

"You just don't really know how lucky you are to be alive at this moment. That sparkly friend of yours thought he could get away and I had all intentions of bringing him back here alive. Well, you see how well that worked. And yet, here you stand, a bit bruised but otherwise in good shape. And it isn't because whomever you serve prevented your death. When Pompous puts his arrow in the "ten ring" on the invisible dwarf, Michae pulls up. so much for the mad dash to the barracks to slaughter the troops. still now that he is down he tries to get Sigvar to help him move some pews over in front of some fo the entrances. the room feels too exposed to Michael.

Anna-darkmantle flies back to her post on the ceiling and takes a full round to turn into a mobat. She tries to turn her blindsense down towards the floor so that any invisible reinforcement coming down the passageway will be detected by it.

If she detects anything coming down the path towards her group she will sound the alarm before flying from the ceiling to attack with a vital striking bite.

@Sigvar - I've been trying to keep things going in combat rounds, so probably 5-6 additional rounds passed by now. Since there's not any more imminent threats, we can drop from round tracking now.

Trayvin and Pru continue to play good constable, providing their captive with ink and paper and loosening the bonds on his hands to put down what he knows about the layout.

Michael request some burly assistance to use some pews to block off some of the entrances to the cavern while Pompous and Anna keep vigilant on their watch. Pompous worries about taking down the other duergar, but has a feeling that he had plenty of tricks to try to escape, and is better off taken down.

Nikolai makes sure their captive knows what's what, with a stern lecture on decisions he should make in the future.

The duergar sketches out what he can (map is updated to show the full complex). There are two large barracks' on the east and west where teams like mine are garrisoned. There's 3 eleven man teams still in each side, but from how you handled us, they won't be much of a problem, and you could probably convince them to leave.

The back room though guards the entryway to the prisoner cells. The team back there calls the shots. Any one of them is worth our team on his own, and I don't think you'll have much luck convincing them to give up this cult idea.


You all came in the large entrance in the south, and the two side tunnels there lead off to other hidden exits in the cliff face. There are no traps that he knows of - their defense relied on numbers and small tunnels.

If the barracks are full of weak fighters like this that we can convince to leave, why not bypass them with magic and block the passage behind us? Prudence, This will be alot of casting on your part, but can you make the silent folks invisible, dimension door them in and then come back for us louder people? We would be able to prep for the room with all of our combat spells and then just bypass their fodder. What do you guys think? It gets us within striking distance of the Commander and doesn't waste our surprise or spells on their lower followers. If we get rid of this guy we can talk about it and include Trayvin in the conversation.

Trayvin isn't too worried about setting defenses here, it looks like the Agents would be moving out soon. Once the prisoner completes the drawing it will be time to continue the assault on the dragon's lair.

Nikolai assumes that the barracks where the screamer went will be warned and know some of what has transpired, however the other barracks may not know what's going on, so, "Thank you for your help. We will keep our word that those of you who reject the dragon we won't harm. Go to those barracks over there", pointing to the one the screamer went to, "and get them out of here. And don't turn back. If those in the other barracks don't resist, we will spare them too. We give our word we will give them a chance to surrender. Now go on. If we find any lingering behind, we will pile their corpses here and you can claim them in a few days or so."

Once the duergar leaves, Nikolai directs a quick search of the dead duergar for any valuables and then heads to the barracks opposite the captured one goes to. If any duergar come passing through from the other barracks while they are still in here, the Fist will be more than ready for them if they give any trouble, but otherwise will let them escape.

Anna flies after the others remaining a mobat so that her 60 foot blindsense will hopefully give them a heads up as to any invisible Dueger exiting the barracks they are headed for.

Hmm, even if you tip the break in, you would be back on site with myself and Trayvin in 2 rounds. Think our quiet boys can stay hidden until then? I am just keen on avoiding the massacre we had here and the possibility that one or two of the weak guys in the barracks is committed and flees to warn the tougher guards. Not so much a problem that we would end up killing the guards, they are evil and had a hand in taking Commander Palance, they can die in a fire, slowly, for that, but it will weaken and delay us to face them and I don't want her whisked away again.
On that note we also need to remember she may not be herself. She is, from what I recall, a talented swordswoman and I have no desire to face her if she is being controlled by the dragon. We need to get and extended protection from evil on her ASAP or to knock her out so we can deal with her later.

woops - the day got away from me

With danger managed for the moment, the Agents take a few breaths to plan. As far as they can tell, there were 3 shifts of mooks, one of which has been dispatched or fled, one is probably asleep in the barracks, and the other barracks may be awake, but not on duty.

No enemies got out that way to warn them, so Pru may be able to block them off while they handle the real threat.

Still, Pompous wonders why they're taking time now for loot, and whether they can really trust a duergar. They do easily notice several sets of shortswords, crossbows, an amulet and headband, and several potions. There's also a quite nice guitar if someone can repair the damage Michael did to it.

Anna says, "Someone take the remains of the guitar too. Shouldn't mending work to repair the damage? I think I can pull a bunch of scrolls of that from my bag of tricks. Actually I think I can pull up to a 6th Caster Level spell of Make Whole from my bag of tricks. If we need a higher caster level than that I can buy a scroll of pretty much any level from the catacombs and use that to repair the guitar. If it isn't magical mending or a normal scroll of make whole should work. If it is magical we will have to figure out the caster level of the the magic guitar in order to figure what caster level we need for a make whole spell to repair it."
