DM Jeremy Battle Map Monday November 16th, 2020 5:27:18 AM OOC... I can't lie, Atlas' reunion, and the way you role-played that brought a huge smile to my face, and maybe a bit of moisture in my eyes. I love being your DM, you guys made my weekend! Everyone gets a hero point for making the DM tear up.
After a very warm, and apparently, in the case of Elyngael, a bit violent reunion, Eberyon is dumb founded as to how to proceed for a moment, after all it's not everyday that he sees a she-elf tackling a human, and then laying one one him. The king of the fey quickly regains his composure and breaks out in a hearty laugh, "Welcome home heroes of the Wold, your efforts, though a secret, have saved the Wold much suffering, and for that I thank you. please join the Tree Wardens and I at this lovely banquet. Oh and Atlas, I believe you probably better sit with the Wardens, if you don't, I think their may be rioting." With that Eberyon lets out another hearty laugh and then address the room, "Eat, laugh and be merry my friends, both heroes and guests, for today is a day of celebration for multiple reasons. The Tree Wardens have saved the Wold's Cradle from a grave threat, saving it from facing certain war, the Woldian heroes did what they did to save the Wold, from future suffering, and now a grand reunion of friends, or based upon the looks of things, I guess I should say family. Can anyone give me a better reason to celebrate?" Eberyon appeared to want to say more, but is interrupted by a loud cracking sound, that appears to have come from outside the palace. The fey King runs to the window, and after looking out, he turns and says, "Wardens, you better come with me!" He then races out the back door, towards the garden. When the Wardens reach the door and look out towards the garden, they see a 40ft tree standing where the seed was planted. Like Guyrent, the former tree who stood in that location, this tree looks identical to the tree carved on the signet emeralds that each of the Warden's wear, as a prize from the conquest, of the dragon at fire mountain.

He returns everyone's affection as warmly as it is given and for the slightest of moments he forgets the grumble from his tummy and all the amazing food laid out. However, as is the way of The Wardens, another surprise interrupts their merry making.
One thing is for certain, he didn't lose a step while off galivanting around with others. At the sound Atlas looks about to see if there is reason to be worried. When he catches sight of the King's reaction he springs to his feet and draws out his sword to prepare. Running to the King he straps on his shield, but then quickly comes to a halt next to the King outside. He follow's everyone's eyes and sees the tree, but cannot contain himself, "So, that's a nice tree, but by the looks on your faces I am missing something. An invisible lich? An evil Ent? Come on, don't leave me standing here looking stupid."

"Yesterday we planted Deeproot's seed here.", he responds as he moves closer to the tree. "There is much more."
He moves as close to the tree as he is permitted, before speaking in Sylvan, "We have flown, and swam, and taken many forms together, and we were asked to bring you here to flourish. If you can speak, what would you have us call you?"
DM Jeremy Battle Map Tuesday November 17th, 2020 5:26:33 AM
Everyone is a bit dumbfounded as to how a seed can become a 40 ft tree in but a moment, though Owen has no problem expecting the unexpected here in the Wold's Cradle, especially when dealing with a child of Deeproot. Elyngael asks Eberyon if this is his doing, but the fey king simply shakes his head and says, "No, I am as amazed as you all. My guess is we are dealing with a combination of 3 things. First we have the latent magic found in the very fabric of the Cradle, or in this case, the soil, second we are dealing with a child of Deeproot, and that is deep magic of it's own kind, and third our good Druid here did cast plant growth on the seed. All together that is a major cocktail of magic. Of course I could be wrong and if so your guess is as good as mine. What amazes me the most is how she is the spitting image of Guyrent, who used to stand in her place!" Meanwhile poor Atlas, not privy to the events that led up to this moment, is searching for a foe, until Osul informs him that the tree he sees before him was the seed of Deeproot (the Tree) but yesterday.
Vamir tries communicating with the tree via speak with plants, and Osul tries the old fashion method of just using his voice. The new tree, speaking Sylvan, answers much like her brother Longbranch, verbally, though with a slight feminine voice. "Of course I'm here, where else would I be? I have no name yet, since my roots haven't reached into the Wold to connect with my father yet, as such he hasn't given me a name yet. I've been watching you Wardens of the Tree in my infant state, or as you would call it my seed form, for a long time, and for reasons I can't explain I can remember much of what I saw in my infancy. In those memories one thing stands out, and that is that my father Deeproot, trusts you, and so I too trust you and I ask that you present me with a name." Eberyon smiles and says, "You have been given a great honor, as the naming of a tree, especially one of Deeproot's people, is something I don't believe I've ever heard done by a short lived mortal before. A true honor indeed, and one worthy of the Wardens of the Tree!"

"I do so love the idea of finding a proper name for the offspring of Deeproot and brother of Longbranch, it is such an honor" He quickly starts going through names in his head and jumps when he hears Armand mention one he was just thinking. "I like that Armand, it gives a sense of hope. I was first thinking Sunleaf, but I was also considering Brightleaf. It seems to me that the other obvious parts of a tree are taken, so why not focus on the part that exemplifies life; the leaf. And how does a leaf grow? Many names are thrown out, as the daughter of Deeproot listens patiently. When Elyngeal apologizes, the tree chuckles and says, "Think nothing of it, I would be a pathetic tree indeed if a little push was enough to uproot me, I understand your need for assurance. I, myself, have no understanding of why I had such a growth spurt." The tree says to everyone, "I don't believe my name has to follow in my father's and brother's footsteps, however, I do like the family connection. and you have come up with some great ideas, even those that don't follow in my family tradition are names one can be proud of. As of now their are two who feel Brightleaf is a good name, and due to the conditions here in the Cradle, like the rest of the plants here, my leaves are more vibrant then they probably would be in the Wold, making it a fitting name, but considering my location, Greatcrown would also be a logical choice. What do the rest of you Wardens say, I have no preference so name me what seems right."
OOC... Really, name the tree whatever you like. There will probably be a quick mention added, of the names and locations of Deeproot's offspring, in the Tree of Parting geography/history page that Jerry, Robert, myself and a few others worked on a few months ago. Armand begins to think that maybe the tree should name herself, as Neshi abstains from participating, apparently trusting his friends to pick the right name, but Osul comes up with a compromise between Armand's and Owen's ideas, and suggests Brightcrown. Every one seems to agree that the name is fitting, based on her family's history of descriptive names. With her bright green canopy, or crown, plus her location in the court of the fey king, there is no doubt that the name describes her, and it kinda has a ring to it. When they ask the tree what she thinks about the name, she pauses for a moment, then says, "Hmm, Brightcrown, Brightcrown, yes I like it, I think it suits me fine, so I will claim the name Brightcrown. Thank you Wardens of the Tree, I understand now why my father trusts you so. It must be the quick growth spurt, which thankfully has stopped, otherwise I'd be an old tree, on my way to death, in an hour or so, but I'm feeling tired and in need of much rest. If you don't mind I need to hibernate, for awhile.".
Eberyon quickly chimes in, "You have done well, Bright crown is a splendid name for a child of Deeproot, and the fact that she likes it makes it all the better. Brightcrown, take your rest, a good hibernation will make you feel like a new tree. Well, technically you are a new tree, but you know what I mean. Now my friends, let us leave our tired friend to her rest as we adjourn back to the feast in your honor. your fighter looks as though he is going to faint away from lack of nourishment."
