Náro privately thinks that last fight could have gone better had more folks not gotten themselves transformed into animals. He says nothing and follows Zazu.
Beech asks for healing.
Niall agrees with Zazu finding a camp site so they can be fresh for the ruins.
Naithi explains she doesn’t have healing spells prepared but can have some in the morning. She also brings up the prospect of good berries if she can find berries.

It’s about midafternoon so the party can bed early or go on for a couple of hours before a break. Regardless, they eventually get some sleep and head through the forest again. It remains magical and mysterious, though perhaps less so now that it’s almost killed some of you.
After another half-day’s travel the party must be closing in on their destination. At least that’s what Zazu says - it’s hard to really tell in this place if you’ve been heading the right direction the entire time (that tree started following you again for one thing). So it’s probably a relief when the thick woods start to clear a little and signs of old ruins become apparent - ancient overgrown stones left over from collapsed buildings and small patches of moss-covered stone roads.
With signs of what used to be here being so faint it’d probably be a hard search to find any sort of underground dungeon except that something a bit more recent draws the party's attention to it. Someone or something got in a fight here. Trees are scored and damaged with broken arrows embedded in various places. Two corpses, old enough to have been all but consumed by scavengers, lay near an overgrown staircase leading down.

Beech thanks Ash for the healing, and shivers as he mentions the monkeys... The signs of battle Intrigue him, he carefully makes his way to it, and will remove the arrows from the trees, knowing the Woods are always watching, before determining if there is anything magical about it.

As the group finally makes camp, Ash takes the opportunity to cast her last two healing spells of the day on Zazu. She's still got a couple of cuts and scrapes herself, but nothing that a good night's sleep won't fix.
In the morning she checks over the rest of the party. It looks like they're back to full strength. Some even look stronger. "Must be the power of the forest" she reasons.
She takes a look at the corpses, specifically looking for any weapons, equipment or clues as to who they may have been. "Chances are they were here to loot the ruins. It would have been very brave - or foolish - for them to have come alone. Perhaps these were the lookouts and others went below?"
It's all just guesswork at this stage. It would seem the answers will be found down the staircase.

Zazu thanks Ash most kindly for the healing and takes the early morning watch, enjoying the dawn pouring through the leaves of the living Culverwood. Zazu helps find berries, granting a +2 to Naithi's check (auto seeing as hitting a DC10 is no problem).
