DM(James M) - Map - Surrounded! Sunday January 3rd, 2021 11:34:45 AM
Just as the celebration started, so too did it end as loved ones and friends backed away from the table and into a fog that closed in at the edges of the area. Even as the fog encompassed each of you a feeling of warmth and wellbeing infused your body. Weightlessness....white light... and slowly the feeling of gravity returned as you found yourself upon the battlefield once more as you watched yourselves move in slow motion as time rewound and retook the exact positions you had days ago.
There you were frozen in that instant of victory as the events you witnessed replay in reverse order until everything comes to a complete stop. Like a taunt bow string that once released vibrates so too did time for an instant as it changed course to once more move in the direction most were familiar with.....forward.
Those creatures that were defeated fell to the ground to crash through the grasses to land with a rebounding thump as their life's blood seeped out onto the plain. In silence you remain frozen in the moment as the natives start to move before your eyes. It is as if you were never gone as a loud cracking explosion fills your ears as you break through the barrier of time between yourselves and those already here. With a stumble each of you find yourselves once more on the plains of the Sargrass.
The wardens had helped the nomads, but they also demonstrated how dangerous they were. After all this small group of adventurers did by themselves what all their warriors struggled to do. The nomads stand around with weapons drawn as they circle the wardens as if they expect round two of the battle. As they do so they exchange looks with each other.
Sense Motive DC 15 Highlight to display spoiler: {It's clear that the junior members of the nomads are afraid of the wardens, but the senior members seem to be a little harder to read. }
Sense Motive DC 30 Highlight to display spoiler: { Dharwyn and the unit commanders of the nomads seem impressed but still wary of the wardens as they hold their weapons loosely in their hands.}
Dharwyn turned away from the wardens as he appeared uninterested in them at present and with a motion he directed a few of the nomads to scout the perimeter. As he walked away the remaining nomads closed in around the wardens with weapons drawn and bows ready...
'Osul leans on his staff. Apparently they wouldn't have needed our assistance if 80% of them hadn't valiantly hidden themselves away. Also, they don't appear at all phased for having moved past, into or through some of the four swarms of insects {Creeping Doom - now round 5/15 - were on the original map (three near 'Osul and one near Atlas)}. This seems odd behaviour for the newly appeared nomads (not that 'Osul can see half of them), and 'Osul suspects most of them are illusory - aside from Dharwyn, the archers he saw defending the camp, and the guards he has already interacted with. If he was utterly paranoid he would recall that while he was rushed by the guards with weapons drawn, he wasn't touched by them - much like these now - until they rushed away to deal with the attack. So, maybe this is all just Dharwyn - who would be a what exactly?
He looks at the nomadic forces, grins and says, "Well, that was interesting - where were you all?", and looks to gauge the various responses, how distinct individuals are, etc..
OOC: I'm unclear of the mechanism to check/disbelieve.

Up in the air, Neshi (the air elemental) looks down at the situation and rises to about 120 feet.
DM(James M) - Map - Surrounded! d20=17 ; Monday January 4th, 2021 2:20:01 PM
As perception of the surrounding environment solidified the wardens noticed that the compound was much larger than they had anticipated and the fighting force the nomads mustered up on short notice was only a fraction of their true potential. Each smaller structure within the nomads clearing would accommodate up to 4 people and the structure at the center upwards of 30.
Int DC 15 Highlight to display spoiler: {About 400 people could live here based on the estimates above and since you haven't seen that many yet it's likely more are hiding.}
Additionally what at first appeared to be infantry now seemed like a mix of women, children, and men. They were all armed, but as a fighting force they'd likely not be very effective. As they watched the wardens carefully you could see several of them whispering to each other.
Meanwhile the actual warriors in the group didn't waste any time as they formed a loose circle around the wardens.
Whether any heard Osul's question wasn't apparent as each of the wardens found themselves with at least 4 bows pointed at them. Neshi being the one that avoided that since he was out of the warriors line of sight as his body swirled high above the crowd below. It soon became clear that Neshi was thought to be a wizard's spell effect.
"Lower your weapons!" One of the men ordered the wardens. "and dismiss that storm over us as well or we kill your wizard." he said as several bowmen changed targets to point at Owen.
Perception DC 15, Neshi DC 27 Highlight to display spoiler: {A couple of men in the back with ornate headgear chant and wave their arms as they cast Bless upon their warriors. Another commands the wardens to Drop their weapons.}
Perception DC 21, Neshi DC 33 Highlight to display spoiler: {"You see that mum, he was bleedin' for a sec, now he's all healed.", another said "What of those clouds of bugs? They just vanished. I feel the gods are at work here." }
Armand and Altas DC 19 Will Save Highlight to display spoiler: {You drop your weapons and cannot pick them or anything up this round. Check each round DC 19 to shake off this spell.}
DM James: There are going to be random penalties to Perception due to distance, but Neshi is the one exception due to altitude since there is a +12 to the DC for the 120' distance in the air. Also, the map only includes about a quarter of the inside of the compound.
Last, I typically post early morning before noon EST if that information is helpful. Today is an exception and I'll allow back posting if you haven't posted before this DM post.
Seeing the two in headgear Perception DC 29doing their things, Neshi quickly casts invisibility on himself, making it appear as if the storm has been cancelled and then makes his way toward the rear of the two in headgear. Move 100 feet

Owen does a rough count of the buildings and figures there are more people in the encampment than the Wardens see here. He takes note of people in ornate headgear as well. Looking up, he sees Neshi disappear, and is glad that he won't immediately be shot full of arrows.
Owen raises his hands in the classic gesture of surrender, but readies himself to Teleport to the other end of camp should the archers fire upon him.

He feels the command spell wash over him and turns to address the casters. "Just give me a minute, all this is going quite quickly." He slowly shoves his glaive into the efficient quiver.

Atlas grows visibly frustrated and speaks up for the Warden's to hear, "For heaven's sake, Wardens, calm down. Based on our actions when they speak to us, I wouldn't trust a hair on our heads either. Now unless you want me to do the talking, and I will mind you, one of you level headed folks better speak up quickly and get this straightened out. I do not want to kill 200 innocent people today in self defense."
At that moment he feels a tug on his mind, most likely from those magicky folks in the back, but he shrugs it off. However, he still gently places his sword and shield at his feet as a sign of peace and puts his hands on his hips while grumbling to himself, "When did we all get so prickly?"

Owen gives the universal sign of surrender.
Armand puts his weapon away and tries to talk some sense into the gathered peoples.
Atlas places his weapon at his feet.
Vamir tries to move but the nomads close ranks and don't allow him to do so.
Melzat tries to move as well, but is stopped.
Elyngael lowers her weapon and also tries to move but is blocked.
Osul remarks that Dharwyn seemed impressed at least.
Twitchy bow fingers relaxed as Armand tried to talk some sense into everyone and calm those present and though Atlas' comments worried some it seemed they also assure others. A moment later the ranks of the nomads opened and allowed the wardens to gather together as the two men in headdresses stepped forward. Before they could act however a heavily muscled, white-haired half-orc appears in the group, apparently out of thin air, (He teleported in) and begins walking towards the Wardens. The half-orc isn’t equipped like the villagers, instead he is wearing a mithril breastplate, a holy symbol that appears to be composed of all the Woldian god’s symbols mixed into one, and has a large sized adamantine dwarven war ax strapped to his back, and yet the villagers seem to know him and show signs of great respect, even though he is obviously an outsider himself. As the half-orc gets closer, you see that his hair color is due to age, and not necessarily something he was born with, as he is clearly much older than his muscular frame would indicate. The half-orc tells the inhabitants to put away their weapons, telling them that the Wardens are obviously adventurers, and based on their actions versus the red reavers, heroic ones. The half-orc looks over the Wardens and adds that he believes, based on their attire, that they are from the northern continent. Finally he introduces himself as Brangorn, Pantheon Devotee (A cleric who reveres all the Woldian gods). Brangorn offers to take the Wardens to the council of three in the circle of judgement, and on the way, he says:
“The harvesters are a good people, or at least this community is, however, they are a bit on edge, as threats they have never had to deal with have seemingly popped up out of nowhere lately. For example, these creatures that you helped defeat, are something I have never seen here in the plains before, and I have been here for quite some time. As you can see I’m not a harvester, but these people have adopted me as an honorary member, even though I come and go, traveling the Sargrass Plains as the gods lead. In fact, I wasn’t planning on coming here today, but I was communing with the gods, not ten minutes ago, and felt a prompting to come, so I teleported here, just in time to see you finishing off the last of this new threat. I don’t believe you are here by chance, but you were sent here as the ones that can bring peace back to this part of the plains, well perhaps there will never be true peace, this is the Sargrass Plains after all, and there will always be something that wants to eat you, or kill you just for the fun of it, but at least a sense of normalcy.
The words of Brangorn seemed to calm those present and all could see everyone visibly relax. Dharwyn who had never vanished from sight turned and caught the eye of those that could see him and shrugged as if to say, oh well, you are on your own. He then moved beyond the wall of grass with two men. A moment later a chant arose near him as the grasses along the perimeter rewove by their own accord to once more form a barrier to what lay outside the compound.
Brangorn waves a hand ahead of him as he indicates the Wardens should move to the large tent at the center of camp.

Elyngael checked Brawn to make certain he was uninjured.
Osul added to the conversation.
"You are being taken to stand in the Circle of Judgement before the Council of Three." Brangorn replied to Armand. "They will decide on your fate."
Brangorn leads the Wardens to the entrance of a wigwam. This wigwam is substantially bigger than the rest, as you could easily fit 6 or 7 of the other wigwams into this one. Based on the size, it’s easy to surmise that this wigwam doubles as a great hall.
Along the way the Wardens noticed grass mats set out in a clear section with beetle carapaces laid out upon them in varying stages of dismantlement. A few workers looked up from their tasks as the wardens passed by. They were in the process of forming the shells into objects of indeterminate use.
KS: Engineering DC 15 Highlight to display spoiler: {The items look like the beginning of crude tools, weapons, and armor. You look around and see that many of the warriors here are wearing similar items in a more finished state. }

The guards opened the door for Brangorn, and didn’t give the Wardens a second thought. It’s almost as if they had the idea that a friend of Brangorn was a friend of theirs. As your eyes adjusted to the dim light of the interior of the wigwam, you saw 9 humans, 3 elderly male, and 3 elderly female and 3 armored warriors sitting in a circle in groups of 3. At the center of the circle was a grass mat with a red diagram inscribed upon the grass.
KS: Religion/Arcana DC 20 Highlight to display spoiler: {The diagram has little significance to you. It is likely a representation of some kind of totem. You can confirm however it is not magical or intended to capture anyone. }
Brangorn steps forward and says, “Honored Elders of the council of three, allow me to introduce to you the Tree Wardens from the northern continent. They are here, I believe, by the will of the gods, and I also believe they are the ones to return the plains to a sense of normalcy”.
As he spoke nomads filed in to line the walls of the wigwam to watch the proceedings. Most of these seemed to be middle aged members of the Harvesters. Workers and warriors alike. Even a few mothers that held children to their breast.
Each group of three had a single person at it's head. The first was a man of such advanced years that his eyes had glazed over and were almost completely white. To either side of him and behind were two slightly younger men whispering quietly in his ears as they described the wardens to him. The second group, that of women were set up the same way with a grey haired woman in the fore position and two younger women behind them. The elderly old woman seemed inattentive and distracted. The last group of warriors were alert and confident. The wardens recognized the fore person as he that commanded the warriors at the wall.
The lead warrior stands and commands. "Enter the circle and be judged!"
Once everyone was gathered in the circle the eldest woman stood and reached out for one of the others behind her to help her stand. "As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, there is an order to the way. The eldest sit in judgement and determine the path of the younger. The wisdom of age combined with the ability of youth from our aids guide us in these decisions while our hunters preside over the circle to maintain order."
Once the old woman finished her say she walked the perimeter of the circle with her two companions following behind her. Though she refused any help from the two afterwards she did produce a cane to help her walk as she stopped at intervals around the circle to peer at the Wardens.
Quick as a whip she smacked Atlas on the back of the head with her cane and said "I see nothing special about them. Why would they succeed where our warriors have failed. Send them away!" she spat out vehemently. As the cane impacted the man's head it stung, but caused no damage other than the possible humiliation at being struck in such a manner.
Perception DC 23 Highlight to display spoiler: {Several people in the audience smiled at the old woman's antics.}
The three warriors stood almost immediately but one of the younger women held out her hand and yelled. "Kroika, be at ease!" she said as she addressed the hunter as the old woman took up a standing position to the Warden's right.
The old man was helped to his feet and he too walked around the circle with the aid of his lessers as he was clearly blind. When he came opposite to the position of the old woman he sniffed loudly. "They smell bad!" he announced. "They should be banned."
Sense Motive DC 34 Highlight to display spoiler: {You notice that Brangorn is barely keeping it under control. It seems like the council of 3 are making sport of the heroes.}

The old man spat upon the mat and the old woman grumbled her ascent.
"Have you come to steal our children?" she demanded.
"Have you come to take our women?" grouched the old man.
Perception DC 15 Highlight to display spoiler: {The line of questioning appears to be confusing the audience. It seems they expected something else from the proceedings.}
Perception DC 25 Highlight to display spoiler: {The younger woman behind the eldest Whispered in the old woman's ear. "Enough Mother."}
Silence reigned for several awkward moments as they waited on an answer before all in the circle started to laugh. The old woman embraced Atlas and rubbed the back of his head as she whispered in his ear. "My daughter is an old maid, but she would make you a good wife if you so chose."
She pushed Atlas back to arms length and said. "I am Araneida. Leader of the Red Shell Harvesters. Welcome to our home heroes of the Tree of Parting. These are our leaders. That blind fool is Oswell and his two sons, Orwell, and Otwell. These are my daughters Araness and Aranisha. Araness is unmarried and desires a husband."
Araness was easily in her fifty's and threw her mother a look that scared even the mighty Armand. Besides she was easily twice the age of any of the Wardens.
Araneida ignored everyone as she grabbed Atlas' hand and pulled him over to the mat where she was seated before. "Help an old woman. Would you?" she said as she lowered herself to a seated position and pulled him down to sit next to her.
Moments later trays of food arrived as the conversation started in earnest as questions about the Warden's origins and how they came to be here came from all sides.
DM James: No need to go into any detail about how you are here. I don't think we need to rehash the mission from god aspect of this adventure. :) It is time for you to ask questions however.

"Apologies Armand," Araneida said as she overheard the man talking to his fellow wardens. "It seems you were not the only ones to be the focus of jesting this day."
Araneida laid a gentle hand on Vamir's arm and looked him in the eye. "Take the time you need but I see no reason to delay giving you the information you requested. No matter where we camp for the last several months strange creatures have been arriving at our gates with malcontent. These, as Brangorn has probably already told you, are creatures unfamiliar to us on the plains. At first the attacks came about once every other week, and if it wasn’t for the fact that they were foreign creatures, we wouldn’t have thought much about it, such is life in the plains, but with the unique attackers we took note. The attacks became more and more common, until now we are dealing with an attack almost every other day. We haven’t lost many warriors, thank the gods, but I know not how much longer we can hold out, especially now that they managed to breach our walls. A few weeks ago we decided to send a small band of warriors out to track the enemy, as all the attacks seem to have come from the same direction. We have heard nothing from those warriors, and we assume they were killed."
"Think it over and if you wish to help, and I pray you will, assuming you have a tracker among you, you should have no problem finding the path. Please investigate the problem and if you can deal with it yourselves very good, otherwise return and we will see what we can accomplish."
"As for tonight, please stay with us we have a couple empty wigwams that haven't been packed up as yet since their owners did not survive the last few attacks. Armand thanks the council and will depart to investigate the camp. "Neshi, I think Gargul has more than enough creatures to process without your needless adding to the list. No what these people may need is a geas spell or two. But again that is not our call to make, we are not their judge and jury. Let's be about our business and see what's what. Oh and I for one won't be using their wigwams when we have a perfectly good tree fort ready to go." He taps his gloved hands together to remind them of his magical tree and tree house.
Armand will then cast Detect Magic and wander around the village. After much snooping around. "Confound it, there doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary here. I guess we'd best get some rest. I'm for setting our normal watch as well. And from the tree we'll have a little height advantage."
OOC, there appears to be a clearance around the central wigwam on the map, I need a 20 foot square to activate the tree house. So that's where I will erect it unless you say otherwise.
SEED GLOVE (legacy item for Armand in Tree of Parting - short version): On command, a seed appears in the palm of this glove. When planted, a tree grows, exactly like a Tree Feather Token. The tree can only be grown if there is 60 ft of open space into which it can grow, and if there is 20 ft of solid surface beneath it in which to root. Over the course of the next ten minutes, a treehouse grows organically in the branches of the tree, 15 ft up, which acts like a Secure Shelter. A rope ladder falls down from the treehouse: It is a DC5 climb check to ascend the ladder as a full round action (faster if you have a climb speed). The ladder can be pulled up into the house. Several hammocks also appear in the tree, outside the shelter.

The warden's gather at the tree the next morning as they prepare to track down the monsters that attacked the Harvesters. Everyone was refreshed and ready to go. The tree however was still attracting some attention from the nomads as they took turns feeling the bark on the trunk and talking about it.
The reavers had wings and likely were flying so to track them through the air will be difficult, however they did have a unique odor that Brawn could follow. After some discussion the wardens also concluded that the reavers might not be able to fly for long periods so they might find spots in the grass where they settled. One thing is certain, the reavers aren't known for wandering very far afield. Whereever they came from would be close.

Before the Wardens head out of the encampment, Brangorn meets them at the north gate (Where the battle with the red reavers took place) and offers up a prayer for your protection, and he also apologizes for the way things went the previous day before at the council. "Though a goodly sort, Harvesters have a tendency to act a bit childish at times, well I should say they appear childish to outsiders. In reality, they are devoted, and honorable, though you have to get past their exteriors to realize that at times. Good luck on your mission, and may the gods be with you."
When you are away from the encampment, Osul has little problem following the scent on the ground, and with his help, Brawn is able to assist. Armand offers wind walking, and it seems as though as long as everyone can stay together, the crew seems OK with that. (Please let me know if you are wind walking, walking on the ground, or using some other form of transportation.)
The path of the reavers is like a zig-zaging poke-a-dot pattern, that seems to head relativity strait north. every now and then the two noses come upon the faint scents of something other than the red reavers, that seem to be coming from the same place of origin, as the reavers. Due to the faintness of the scent, it would be hard, if not impossible to identify the sources, but you are able to determine that the odd scents are from a variety of creatures, and it is easy to surmise that they are from the previous attackers on the Harvesters. The sun was just starting to climb into the sky above the tall grasses such that the shadows cast by them were short. The wind, sun, and waving grass created a strobing effect to those on the ground as they looked about in the efforts to clean the area of the harvesters equipment, presumably to return it to their families.

Elyngael shakes her head at the mess. She is not sure what that creature is so really has no ideas to add to what 'Osul said. She nods at Armands idea. "I will see if there is any kind of sign of passage from the monster." Perception d20+21=32, Survival (tracking) d20+25=29/

As two of the wardens took to the air the others set about preparing the dead for their final rest. At Armands instruction they started the process of weaving the stalks of grass around the bodies until a tight cocoon was formed about them. it took about an hour for each of the bodies, but between the four Wardens working at it they finished by midafternoon. Once the task of burying the dead was accomplished the Wardens continued their journey north with two of their number in the air. Osul gets Melzat to lift him up so he can see over the wall.
Armand is taken aback by the swift movement of the animals.
Elyngael hovers in the air and waits.
Vamir continues his flight.
DM James: Only one standard action was available. Osul was able to get into the air, but not cast his spell until after the beasts struck the wall.
Atlas and Armand were the only two Wardens on the ground, the others were flying in one way or another and hopefully out of reach of the rampaging animals. The charging animals were fast, but Osul was a split second too late.
The first of the creatures burst through the wall but in so doing was damaged by the cold of the wall as it passed through to the other side. It's momentum was also stopped as it thrashed about in the general direction of Atlas. Still the second one behind it rushed through the opening and struck Armand and it continued as it rushed past with Armand impaled upon it's horn.
The third one struck the wall and nearly broke through but the wall held and kept it on the other side. A moment later the fourth behind it smashed through the wall and opened it up for both of them. It attempted to run Atlas through but the warrior easily stepped to one side to avoid the charging beast.
The fifth and last beast struck the wall full force and ran right through it as it shook off the cold the wall inflicted upon it.
Given the new location of the beasts I'm guessing Osul might choose to use his spell differently or use another spell entirely.

Neshi tries to grab Armand and Dimension Door away
Atlas took to the air (Provoking AoO from WR3 and WR4) and tried to help Armand.
Osul rises into the air to see what might be driving the creatures.
Brawn was tough as he bit at the huge creature and tried to trip it up, but it was just too massive for him to succeed. Still he was able to hurt it and it bled from multiple wounds as a result.
Elyngael fired her bow and while only one of the arrows hit it's target the effect was massive as the arrow buried itself deep into a sensitive part of the rhino's hide.
Vamir cast his spell but the creature was just too focused on it's anger and the spell failed.
Owen had somewhat better luck as his freezing sphere exploded and damaged two of the creatures though they seemed to shake it off easily.
Neshi flew down out of the sky and tried to dimension door Armand away from the fight.

Atlas arrived to help Armand and as he did so the beast lashed out at him as it thrashed about.

One of the beasts lashed out at Brawn and hit him. The other lashed out at Atlas who was proving to be quite the slippery opponent. A third rushed forward to strike out at Atlas, but he was out of reach as it danced about and thrust it's head upward. Lastly another rushed forward to strike out at Brawn and it too struck the companion.

The fire washed over them and caught them all on fire. As a result they bolted as they tried to get as far from the fire as possible. After defeating the Elasmotheriums a thick smoky haze encompassed the area, and a male manfri walked out of the haze. Mahyawu asked them to follow him, then turned around and walked back into the smoke. As the Wardens followed, at first they didn’t see anything, as the smoke was too thick, but then, a moment or two later, the haze cleared and the Wardens found themselves in a manfri village. Mahyawu lead them to what appeared to be a council fire, where they saw a wemic? No, on closer look it’s a sphinx, and not only that but one they sort of recognize. “It has been many decades since we last met, though to you it has only been a few years. The Sargrass Plains that returned to the Wold is much older than the one you visited, while it was still in the other dimension. Which explains why I have greyed a bit since we last conversed. Of course our friend Mahyawu here is as ageless as ever. That said it is clear that your return is the work of the gods, as there is a new threat to the plains that we hope you have the strength to challenge, and conquer."
"Since you are following the trail, left by the monsters, towards the source, it is clear that you already are aware of something being amiss, but what you don’t know is the source. Some new evil has been dragging creatures from other parts of the Wold, or maybe places outside of the Wold, we aren’t exactly certain, nor are we certain, what is doing the dragging, but we do know where the source of the problem currently is, and we believe that their goal is to terrorize the inhabitants of the plains, so that when they choose to reveal themselves, they will strike such terror that they will easily conquer the plains, and who knows where else after the Sargrass Plains have bent the knee to them.”
Mahyawu then suggested you spend the night in the manfri village, and offered to transport you to the source of the evil, making sure to keep a good distance away, so everyone can approach it safely. DM James: Please reset your HP totals to Max.
Mahyawu responds to Armand. "My friend. It is a powerful evil and our scrying shows that a madness is involved with whatever seeks to dominate the Sargrass. As for travelling craft, we have none to offer you, but will be able to get you very close to the source in the morning. So there should be no need for such."
To Elyngael Mahyawu answered. "The evil resists our attempts to discover it's true form or identity. All we've been able to discern is that it's an old evil and been corrupted or driven insane. It is crafty however as it's attempts to remain hidden have been very effective. Still, we know exactly where it's summoning has happened. We hope that you will find it there."
Mahyawu finds Osul moments after the weather magic is used. "Thank you my friend. Good weather will aid our hunters and workers."

If there is nothing to help with the casting Vamir will encourage Melzat to drop his roots in the soil, and attempt to relax before the next battle begins.

As the evening wears on, Owen speaks with Cheops: "Can we share tales of our adventures with you in exchange for knowledge of your language, as we once agreed?"
DM Jeremy Monday February 1st, 2021 7:28:18 AM
Mahyawu answers Armand, ”It has been many centuries since we have heard from the Baron and his men, and for that everyone on the plains breath a sigh of relief. They were thrown down, and the Baron himself was destroyed. Without a leader, his men, those that survived anyway, wandered the plains and eventually interspersed with some of the others such as the survivors of Rattledam as well as the farmers, and they became the Harvesters. As you have met, the Harvesters are made up of several nomadic groups that wander the plains looking to harvest things of value. They are a goodly sort and very industrious, in their way, nothing like the Baron’s men of old.”
To Vamir, the Manfi answers, ”Sadly no, though we have been able to pinpoint the location that the strange invaders seem to be originating from, we have not been able to decern its identity. I will bring you Wardens to said location in the same manner I brought you to this village, but before I do, let us breakfast together, and if their are anymore questions, now is the time to ask.
Mahyawu concentrates and begins to cast a spell, moments later a large feast is before you, and it is clear he just cast Heroes Feast. (Mahyawu is a level 18 caster)
Cheops answers Owen, ”I will with great pleasure hear your tales, and studiously fulfilled my end of the bargain, but I fear now isn’t the time, though if you meet me at the Harvesters encampment, after this threat has been neutralized, we will have all the time we need to share with one another.”
Heroes Feast You bring forth a great feast, including a magnificent table, chairs, service, and food and drink. The feast takes 1 hour to consume, and the beneficial effects do not set in until this hour is over. Every creature partaking of the feast is cured of all sickness and nausea, receives the benefits of both neutralize poison and remove disease, and gains 1d8 temporary hit points + 1 point per two caster levels (maximum +10) after imbibing the nectar-like beverage that is part of the feast. The ambrosial food grants each creature that partakes a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and Will saves and a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against poison and fear effects for 12 hours.

Atlas rubs his belly, very content after the meal, but also ready to deal with this problem. He stands up, stretches, and bids farewell to Mahyawu and Cheops. "Tales it is, on our return. Thank you for your hospitality and for your help as we try to solve this issue. Until next time." Atlas gives a little bow, almost trips over his sword, and turns to leave with the group.

Armand is amazed at Manfi's words. He nods wisely at what Manfi has said, but silently contemplates how Manfi has remained living if centuries have passed. He resolves that it must be that in some way Manfi is tied to the land, or that he is some instrument of higher powers.
Before going to sleep that night, Armand makes sure that everyone is healed up. In the morning he prays to Gargul, hoping his god has granted him the best spells for the day.
Armand nods to Atlas. "I too am ready to depart."
