Falco slides into the room.

"Yes, clearly we should lay them to rest. If someone wants to put them back I can ask for the Warper-sar's blessing. Being a new power I am not sure how much good it will do though."

As he talks he looks about the room, slowly scanning with detect magic.

Wil seems particularly excited by the mummies' remains. He moves into the room touching nothing. He looks for traps, but finds none yet.
Mak suggests the remains of the minotaur mummies should be respectfully returned to their sarcophagi and blessed.
Kiwina suggests that Wil may be the expert here on handling these remains.
Rolth moves in and wonders aloud about the Tauric proverb on the back wall.
Tzak moves in with a wary eye and a ready sword.
Falco moves into the room and offers to bless the dead here. He casts Detect Magic and in the first round only detects that there is magic here in general, but no point sources yet.

There is dried blood on the floor here, and the bloated centaur body lies in a pool of dried blood. The mummy remains seem to be a bit torn up.

With his bow at ready Mak moved into the room to stand next to the Centaur. As he did so he walked as close to the sarcophagus as he could and peered down into it and did a visual inspection. When he arrived at the centaur he did a visual examination of it as well.

He also looks for me clues,

Then added quietly, “also, I’m a bit superstitious with mummies…. there has to be another door.”

The Petals speculate about the writing on the wall.

Mak moves to the leftmost sarcophagus and carefully looks it over. He sees nothing out of order - a little dust in there, not much. There is a large stone lid beside each. Looking at the dead centaur and the floor he can see that there are a number of hoofprints in the blood, two different kinds in fact.
Elyas looks at the other sarcophagus and he sees nothing amiss there. He also casts Detect Magic and senses that there is magic in the room in the first round of his spell.
Kiwina looks at the floor, and with his survival roll is free to read the spoiler below.
Rolth looks for secret doors, but does not find any. Nor does he see prints suggesting otherwise.
Wil wonders about the mummies, thinking there must be another door in addition to the three doors that he can see.
Falco continues searching for magic. In this second round, he senses several faint and moderate magical auras, and one strong one.

(Sorry for playing out the three rounds on the Detect Magic spells, but there is a reason. The next round will be the third round of Falco’s spell and he will know what there is to know. What is his spellcraft?)

There are three doors in this room, one you came in through and two that remain closed.

Looking at the floor, Survival (Tracking) DC 17: Highlight to display spoiler: {There are a number of hoof prints in the blood and minimal dust here. There are centaur prints and larger wrapped minotaur prints. The minotaur prints are mostly near the centaur body, though both destroyed mummies have wrapped minotaur prints near them. Tsak's ears twitch with the mention of all the magic. He carefully makes his way thru the room to stand near the southern door. He heeds Elyas' advice and touches nothing.

Mak knelt next to the centaur as Kiwina explained the tracks he'd also spotted in the blood. Though he'd suspected one to be centaur and the other minotaur it was good to get confirmation from the ranger. He also saw Falco and Elyas move about the room checking with their spells. Something about this place felt off, the cleanliness of the corridor just outside, the message on the wall, several things added up to the noble archer that just set him on edge.

Mak didn't like doing it, but he put his back to the south side of the room and the majority of the group and faced the door on the northern wall as he listened for hoof beats in the underground complex.

Elyas warns the others there is magic here and not to touch anything. Highlight to display spoiler: {}He can sense the party’s magic items and auras. But in addition, he senses strong magic in the sarcophagus to the south.
Wil casts Speak with Dead on the mummy to the north. Nothing happens - the damaged mummy has an intact mouth, but it does not respond.
Tzak and Esmerelda both find this room distasteful and move through carefully.
Rolth looks carefully at the dead centaur. It’s been dead about a week or more. It appears to have been killed by bludgeoning, though some of those blows fell hard enough to cause it to bleed.
Kiwina reveals what she can tell from the tracks in here.
Mak positions himself and listens for approaching hooves.
Falco setecs magic here, but is unable to determine the schools involved.

As the party mills around this room they learn a few more things.

Suddenly you notice two dark, silent, wraith-like forms rise up from the two prone mummy remains. While they are medium in size, they resemble a minotaur in form. They pause for a moment and tiny beads of malevolent light where eyes should be take in the room.

One lashes with a cold, shadowy claw at Rolth, hitting touch AC 22 and draining 7 points of strength. The other claws Tsak, hitting touch AC 21 and draining 3 points of strength. Hatred seethes from them as they sink into the stone floor. (This strength drain is not cold damage, it’s negative energy damage.)

Rolth and Tsak may take an attack of opportunity against each incorporeal creature. Since these are incorporeal creatures please let me know the nature of the weapon you attack with.

(Just to be clear, you are dealing with two incorporeal creatures. They have sunk into the stone floor. I placed an (S) where they last were. The rose colored squares represent Difficult Terrain from the centaur and mummy bodies, and require double movement and no 5’ moves.)

Wil casts a Consecrate spell. It’s an area spell, so he centers it in the room. It will cover both Mummy remains. It does not quite reach the north and south doors or the corners of the room.
Mak drops his bow and leaps over the sarcophagus with sword in hand.
Elyas readies an action to hit one with a spell should it reappear.
Kiwina is still warded by Wil’s Hide from Undead spell and heads north to open the door there.
Rolth curses the fact that the shadow seemed to have seen through his Hide from Undead protection. Even in his weakened state, he strikes the thing as it left. He readies an action for its return.
Tzak feels a bit weaker than he should be, but has no trouble opening the door to the south.
Falco casts Protection from Evil on himself. He identifies these creatures as Greater Shadows. He knows they are undead, incorporeal (only affected by magic weapons and spells, 50% miss chance, 50% damage, force effects do full damage), and pretty sneaky. He knows they create a new shadow when they damage a victim down to zero strength.

All the doors in this room are now open.

Kiwina can just make out in the dim light that the north corridor extends 40’ before it turns right/east.

Tsak has no trouble seeing the same on is end - this south corridor extends 40’ before it turns left/east.

The characters wait in tense anticipation for their foes to return. They do.

One emerges from the floor and attacks Rolth again, this time affected by the Consecrate spell in the area. Rolth misses with his readied attack. Elyas shoots some Magic Missiles at the thing, inflicting 16 damage.

The shadow hits touch AC 22, sapping Rolth for 4 more strength damage. It disappears back into the floor, provoking an AOO from Rolth (50% miss chance.) His arms feel like lead weights now. He is very weak.

The second creature pops up to attack Tsak, but fails to hit. It also sinks back into the floor, provoking an AOO from Tsak (50% miss chance.)

Readied actions do seem to be effective if they are close enough to effect.

Tsak and Esmerelda head south. He wants to get away from the things as fast as possible and running all the way thru the room to go north doesn't seem like an option.
Tsak sheathes his sword as he goes, it doesn't seem to be of much value against these things.

Tsak plans to take out his crossbow next turn and come back into the fight with something that might actually scratch them.

Mak grabs shoulders his bow and stands his ground, sword in hand, suggesting a retreat may be in order.
Elyas readies another Magic Missile spell.
Wil casts Protection from Evil on Rolth and urges him to leave the room.
Kiwina readies an action to attack a shadow.
Rolth moves north out of the room, and Tzak moves south out of the room with Esmerelda.
Falco readies an action to Channel energy if a shadow shows up. (The DM assumes a readied action here as there is no opponent. In the future kindly specify if you are readying an action if that is your intent.)

Again, two Greater Shadows partially emerge from the floor near Elyas and Mak, provoking readied actions from Elays and Falco. (The DM assumes Elyas would attack the one in his face, but feel free to redirect the damage to the other one if you wish.) Elays Magic Missles lance into the one in front of him. Then Falco’s energy causes both to shudder for a moment.

Kiwina can attack with a readied action if her trident is a magic weapon.

One of the Shadows attacks Elyas with a touch attack of 20, inflicting 5 points of strength damage to the mage. The other focuses on Mak, but misses with a touch attack of 18. They both sink back into the floor, provoking an AOO against AC 20 (cover from not fully emerging from the floor this time) from anyone within reach and holding a magic weapon (Mak, Kiwina, Elyas?) (S) indicates where the Shadow sank into the floor.

Kiwina's trident is a +1 weapon. The previous readied attack went off, and for an AOO he hits AC 28 -- that's a natural 20 with a 13 to confirm -- for 6 points or 15 if confirmed...

Wil recalls when he once wished he were undead. Then he readies an action to blast them.
Kiwina finds the Shadow is too far away for the centaur to attack, so he readies an action from the next round in case something is close. (Kiwina only has a 5’ reach with a trident - sorry, I thought a trident was a reach weapon and that Kiwiana hit farther with it.)
Mak misses the thing as it emerges.
Tzak readies an action to hit anything that emerges.
Rolth lets go of his rage and is able to restore some of his strength.
Falco readies an action to damage the shadows should they emerge.
Elyas readies a Scorching Ray against the things.

Two Greater Shadows partially emerge from the floor granting them cover (actually adds +4 to AC, so AC 22), this time near Mak and Falco, provoking readied actions from Wil, Tsak, Falco and Elays.

Wil and Falco release holy energy, blasting the two. (The Consecrate spell in the area increases the DC of their channeled energy by 3 and decreases the shadows save by 1.) They both jerk a bit as the energy lances through them.

Tsak fires his crossbow but misses. Elyas fires two scorching rays but both miss.

One Shadow attacks Falco with a touch attack of 13, missing the little owlman. The other strikes at Mak and hits him with a touch attack of 27, inflicting 7 points of strength damage. They both sink back into the floor, provoking an AOO against AC 24 (cover from not fully emerging from the floor) from anyone within reach and holding a magic weapon (Mak, Falco?) Mak fell off Kiwina and then used his bow as a crutch as he pulled himself up onto his feet. He took half steps as he hobbled down the corridor after Rolth. As soon as Falco's spell completed the young nobleman took a deep breath as if the weight of his armor had been preventing him from breathing. Although he was still greatly weakened, Mak was no longer dragging himself from one place to another. In fact had he been in such a state much longer he'd have had to remove most of his equipment in order to function at all. As it was Mak wouldn't be able to draw his bow as effectly, but his swordplay would be unimpeded.

Mak feels weak. His haversack seems really heavy, and his sword seems to weigh a ton.
Kiwina tries to carry him, but Mak decides to walk, using his bow as a support.
Rolth congratulates on surviving the shadows. He suggest the Petals should rest in the hallway instead of going outside. He advances into the north corridor, keeping a sharp eye out.
Wil agrees and goes with Rolth.
Elyas is ready to proceed if Mak can be helped. He still has Detect Magic running from before, and focuses on it as he follows Rolth and Wil. (As a reminder, Elyas had detected some magical auras in one of the sarcoughai.)
Falco takes a few rounds to Mak of 3 points of his strength damage.

This room still smells of death. The remains of two large minotaur mummy bodies lie scattered on the floor. The dead, bloated centaur body is there amidst a good deal of dried blood. There are prints in the blood, most leading to the north corridor, and just a few prints leading to the south doorway. Two empty sarcoughai sit silently in the room, large stone lids on the floor beside them.

Rolth’s light provides dim illumination far ahead to his sharp eyes. There is a large room ahead of him. He can almost make out something in the middle of the room in the darkness, but he’s not sure. It’s deathly quiet here.

Elyas asks Rolth to wait while he checks out the room with the sarcophagi.
Tzak moves through the mummy room, looking in the southern sarcougas as he goes. He sees nothing in particular. He also votes for waiting as he considers a potion he has.
Kiwina agrees it would be better to rest and set a watch than go exploring. Falco agrees.
Wil is willing to rest and explore.
Mak suggests more exploration and rest.

Elyas wants to go back to the room with the sarcouphagi and Detect Magic, and when he does he will find that the southern most one radiates strong magic. But right now I see he is still in the hallway.

Tsak yells some encouragement as he stands with Elyas between the sarcophagi.
Kiwina stays in the room as well, his longspear at the ready.

Things are quiet as the Petals rest.

Elyas is there in the room, along with Tsak and Kiwina. There is nothing remarkable about the southern sarcophagus from where they stand. The mage can sense magic emanating from the base of the thing, though it seems empty. It appears to be made of plain stone, sized to hold a large creature, presumably one of the minotaur mummies. It is not decorated.

The bloated body of the dead centaur lays to the north in this room, and the remains of two mummified minotaurs lay scattered here as well. They do not detect as magic.

Tsak has a good look around the sarcophagus that he and Elyas are near. He doesn't share any magical abilities, but he knows something of traps. He checks for any buttons, levers or some kind of mechanism. He checks for changes in the materials like discoloration. He takes half a step back and looks for anything out of the ordinary. He uses his dagger to poke around on the inside, moving any collected dust or detritus. He leans on it, pushes it, pulls it and curses at it.

Elyas uses Detect Magic to study the magical auras associated with the sarcophagus. He also examines the sarcophagus. Falco recommends leaving the magic alone until everyone’s rested.

(Light spell provides normal illumination to 20’ and dim illumination out another 20’.)
Rolth hopes to camp here in peace.
Mak rests.
Kiwina suggests that someone, perhaps Wil, should do something fitting for the dead centaur.
Tsak makes a careful search of the sarcophagus Elyas is looking in. Highlight to display spoiler: {Tsak suspects a trap! He can see that there is some sort of false bottom to the thing, and that it’s resting on some sort of pressure plate or trigger mechanism.}

There wasn't much the archer could do but sit and wait while the others completed their investigation. He looked into the darkness with his enhanced vision while he took measured breaths that were weighted beneath the chain links of his armored shirt. Though the pressure on his chest wasn't as severe as it had been, he felt sluggish and was loathe to stand or exert himself.

If this went on much longer he'd have to abandon most of his equipment since it was simply too heavy for him to cart around. He was also concerned about his bow. Mak had tried to draw it a few moments after the healing spell and he couldn't pull it back all the way. That was going to affect his aim and how effective he'd be able to be with it.

So Mak watched his companions and hoped they didn't open a box of crawling death or kick a pile of mummy's in the next room.

Tsak tells the others he fears a trap associated with the false bottom on the sarcophagus, and suggests waiting until everyone is healed.
Wil moves away from the large, new room as he grumbles about something taking over his body.
Mak waits, hoping his friends don’t get into trouble before he feels better.
Elyas tries to determine which aura is associated with the trap Tsak thinks he has found.

Elays sees the auras he saw before, and there are three sources of magic there, but he cannot tell which might be a trap. The strong one has enchantment, necromancy, evocation, and transmutation. One moderate one emanates transmutation, and the other emanates enchantment. (Identifying an item requires that the item be in your possession and that you thoroughly examine the item.)

Still he casts Dispel Magic on one of them, which would undo a spell or temporarily suppress a magic item with a caster level up to level 5. His detect magic shows no change in the sources he detects from the sarcophagus.

The party rests for at least 8 hours.

You will have rested enough to regain spells, though the clerics will need to wait until the particular time of day when they usually pray for those spell. This is a unique time you choose for your cleric - midnight, dawn, noon, etc. No need to over complicate this, but you should consider noting this time on your character sheet if you have not done so. The default is usually dawn.

Nothing bothers you as you wait.

Perception DC 15:Highlight to display spoiler: {You will note as you rest here that there is a lingering smell of death in the large, unexplored room as well as from the sarcophagus room. This was not noted before because it was easy to confuse with the room you came from.}

Rolth rises with the dawn, sniffing to note the death in the air from both directions before spending some time in prayer to Domi. That completed, he waits to see what Falco and Wil be able to do about the strength loss before asking what the Petals should do about the trap and magic in the room with the mummies. Is Wil willing to see what he can do re the trap? Does Elyas think the two working together could do more? As far as the slain minotaur, rites would be fine, but we can deal with the remains on the way out.

Kiwina hears Rolth's comments about dealing with the dead centaur. He finds it a bit foolish not to deal with the body before it is as undead as those shadows, but by the smell of things there may be another in the next room that should be laid to rest at the same time.

If the clerics cannot restore the party well enough to continue, Kiwina can try to provide long term care over the course of the next day. (Not that the need seems likely.)

Tsak moves to the corrodor for the evening and enjoys the laydown and rest, particularly with the warm, soft body of Esmerelda curled up beside him. He wakes feeling a bit more like his normal self after the exertions of yesterday.

He digs into his bag of holding for some dried meats, adding a few gulps of water, both of which he shares with Esmerelda.

I vote we go on to the next room and sort out whatever is there before toying with the magic in the sarcophagus. That is if everyone feels up to it?
He pointedly looks at Mak, giving him the opportunity to update the team on how he feels.

Mak's bedroll was outside on Elmer so he settled in for the night as best he could with a waterskin under his head and his cloak across his body. With the heavy armor pressing down on him he slept fitfully and neglected his turn at watch as a result.

When Mak did wake it came in stages. First there was the smell of death that slowly entered his consciousnesses until his mind started to rouse. Next was the shear pain he could feel in every muscle of his body from sleeping on the flagstones of the crypt and the overall weakness from the shadows attacks. Last, it was dark. Pitch black with no light at all since his potion had worn off.

With a huge effort Mak sat up and leaned against the wall as he had the night before while waiting on the others to finish their investigations. This time as he waited he reached into his magic pack for rations. The magic in the container helped him find them without having to actually see the rations.

There he sat in the darkness, weakened, and eating with his arm shaking from the exertion with each bite he brought to his mouth.

Once he heard movement from the others he thought to ask. "Is it morning already?"

"It wasn't my fault," he shouted into the heavens. "It wasn't."
Wil then realized where he was and the commotion that he potentially caused.
"Oh my.. I'm sorry." Wil said. "Let me get to work here. We want some strength sap spells, right. I usually do this after breakfast but I don't know if we have anything.... I need a good place to sit.." He says, very quickly.
Wil then sits, spreads out a mat and several lucky coins and begins to pray.

DM Mark - Dead Shadows? - Map
Thursday July 29th, 2021 7:47:12 PM

Rolth notes the smell of death from seemingly everywhere now. He waits for healing.
Kiwina wakes and is ready to provide long-term care if the group continues to rest.
Tsak votes for moving into the large unexplored room once everyone’s ready.
Mak wakes still feeling weakened (even more so if he slept in his armor.)
Falco prays for spells.
Wil prays for spells.

The Petals wake at what would be dawn outside. Hard to tell in here though. Everything is dark as your light spells have expired. Other spells have likewise expired. You break your fast in the cold darkness after waking, several of you waiting to see what the healers will do. Those with strength damage have healed one point from the rest, as noted below.

Arcane casters memorize spells for the day, clerics pray for spells at the appropriate time. Please note your spells for the day and cast what you wish - no need to go round by round on this. Please note all the spells you cast.

-------------------------------------------------
OOC: In general, I will assume you always pray for/recover spells - no need to spend a post turn, you can assume you can go ahead and cast what you can. Technically, clerics do not need to rest to get their spells back. They are available at the time that cleric has prescribed for their characters, and clerics always know when that time has arrived. Of course, not sleeping leaves you fatigued.

Speaking of which, Mak noted the weight of his armor as he slept. Without the Endurance Feat, sleeping in light or medium armor results in you being fatigued for the day (–2 penalty to Strength and Dexterity.) Sleeping in heavy armor always leaves you fatigued. I generally assume everyone removes their armor before they lay down to sleep unless you specify otherwise. I will assume Mak did this as well.

I’m also not keeping careful track of food, and generally assume a careful adventurer carries a few day’s rations with them at all times. :)

He then prepares for the day, studying his spell book. Today he prepares more magic missiles and only one protection from evil. He casts mage armor on himself

The magic of the Warper-sar infused Mak with it's healing energies and once more he felt better than he had before. He was still weak and when he tested his bow was unable to draw it to it's full length. He'd still be somewhat effective with the bow, but he'd get no advantage from the pounds of it's draw. He also felt a bit sluggish as well and moved a little slower under the load of his equipment. Carrying his pack or not didn't seem to make much difference as each step was more of an effort than before.

Elyas thinks he is having a nightmare and then realizes he’s already awake. He casts Light on a dagger to see his surroundings and his spellbook.
Kiwina also lights things up as he prays and meditates on his spells.
Falco casts five Lesser Restoration spells, healing Rolth of 6 strength damage and Mak of 5.
Rolth wakes and is grateful for the healing. He asks if the Petals want to deal with the magic and the trap behind them or explore ahead.
Mak is also grateful for the healing, but realizes he needs a bit more to be effective with his bow.
Wil casts two Lesser Restoration spells, healing Tsak of 2 strength damage and Mak of 3. He asks how else he can be of help. (Including recent email on this.)
Tsak suggests some options, and creeps forward to look in the new room. Kiwina cautions against this.

Most of the Petals seem to be back in the room with the two sarcophagi, seeming to answer Rolth’s question. There are three open doors in this room. The south sarcophagus lays there, it’s open top and magic mocking the Petals. Or maybe that last part was just Cicero - hard to know.

Tsak looks out with his darkvision into a very large, roughly circular room - though he cannot see the far wall. He can sense the domed ceiling rises to the center of the room, maybe 40 feet high. The tiled ceiling seems to show some scenes of liontaurs and maybe some writing, but it’s hard to make much out from where he is. There are a number of large stylized stone statues of liontaurs that all face the center of this room. In the middle of the room is some sort of table or altar, and there are some pieces of pottery or shell or something on the table.

There is a smell of death in this room as well.

Elyas places a light spell on Rolth’s belt, and casts Detect Magic as he moves up.
Kiwina readies his weapon and remains in the corridor.
Mak is glad to be back to feeling like his old self, and moves down the corridor to cover his friends.
Falco casts Protection from Evil Rolth and moves up.
Wil moves up as well.

Standing in the room, Roth (and perhaps others) can see this is a large, roughly circular room about 60’ in diameter. It contains several large alcoves which have 10 large stylized stone statues of liontaurs. Your eyes are drawn upward to a large domed ceiling 40 feet above you. It is tiled with scenes of liontaurs frolicking, fighting hellhounds, and resting in their traditional homes. There is also a message in the tiles in archaic Taur. In the middle of the room is a wooden table with some curved pieces of broken metal, almost like it was some big eggshell or such.

There is a smell of death here as well. On the floor near the far doorway is the decaying body of a centaur.

If someone reads Taur, they may make a DC 12 Knowledge or Linguistics Check to read, Highlight to display spoiler: {“Music can soothe the soul. The music of the sphere can do more.”}

Elyas casts Detect Magic and scans the room. It reaches 60’ from where he is, so it catches most of the room. He detects no magic here other than the magic Rolth wears.

"One immediate thought, " Wil began. "Have you ever seen anyone kill this many centaur? Whoever did this has to be big, or skilled with big weapons. Maybe another taur?"
He is just outside the door, plans to circle the room and search for clues but...
Wil stops for several moments to pray to Gargul and hopes to get some guidance on what to do with the corpses. "I know," he adds. "I am no longer a cleric under you, my lord... but please send me some notes on the proper customs for these victims. I don't believe we left on bad terms... I was just looking to go a different direction.." Wil begins to babble on and on.. till abruptly stopping.

"Do you think I should cast Hide from Undead again?"

Tsak Rezar keeps his wits about him as he fears the statues may leap to life.
Elyas looks further into the room but still looking for magic.
Rolth Niheow approaches the table and gets right up on it
Kiwina remains in the corridor but gets in a bit closer
Falco Ambersier tries to see what killed the poor other centaur
Mak keeps his distance for now, keeping a watchful eye over the Petals
Wil discusses if killing this many centaur is normal, and prays to Gargul.

Elyas - Highlight to display spoiler: {There is still no magic, other than what you'd expect from your party}

Rolth - Highlight to display spoiler: {The metal pieces look like they had an ornate design on the outside surface.}

Falco - Highlight to display spoiler: {It's Sebochus, and it appears he was bludgeoned to death.}

As Rolth approaches the centre wooden table, to look more closely at the metal pieces. However once he reaches the middle of the room, at the same time some of you enter the room, or go about your business, five of the Statues creak, and immediately begin to move, they quickly move up to Rolth and Tsak, while one blocks the door.

One swings at Falco, striking him with it's massive stone arms, and doing 14 damage

Two swing at Rolth who takes 27 damage as they pummel into and lay into him.

One swings at Tsak doing a total of 19 points of damage.

The move with more grace than you might expect, and in total, utter silence, it's unnerving to watch...

Angered by the stony creatures' insolent reply to his fine singing, Rolth flies into a rage and full attacks the one to his southwest.

Mak wasn't surprised when the statues came to life. He didn't think anyone was really. They all suspected some kind of trap because centaurs didn't generally smash themselves to bits...typically they had help with that sort of thing. So when the statue moved from around the corner and stood there in the hallway Mak grimaced and brought his bow up in one smooth motion to shoot at the construct.

While the light in the hallway was bright, the statue was in an area of dimmer light but Mak was confident he'd be ok with that. He loosed his first arrow and it went wide as he had to avoid hitting Kiwina when the centaur surged forward into the battle. His second arrow looked like it hit the stone creature but Mak couldn't tell if it was damaged by his arrow. Mak's last arrow was a dud and snapped in two as soon as he released the bow string.

Mak thought to reposition himself before firing again, but he needed to see exactly what these creatures were capable of first. Mak also tried to remember if he'd heard any legends about stone creatures on the island that were used in tombs.

(Knowledge (any) = 13, success to aid Elyas for a +2 to his knowledge checks)

Tsak Rezar manages to just about get out.
Elyas makes the point that you cannot fight them head on very easily.
Rolth Niheow lets himself be healed.
Kiwina tries to attack, only one seems to have possibly done damage, but even that seems to have slipped off of the golem.
Falco Ambersier continues to try to heal the party.
Mak attempts to attack the Golem, but it raises it's arm to defend and blocks the attack.
Wil teleports himself again... it seems there was an odd flare of magical power, allowing him to teleport more than one person last time... whatever that magical effect was it seems to have waned.

Elyas realises very quickly they are Stone Golems. A few details he recalls is they are immune to nearly all magics, nad have resistance to all damage done with non-adamantium weapons.

However, the Golems have not pursued you into the corridors, they are waiting in the room, to see what you do. You are all safe in the corridors as it stands. The Golems stand stock still, it almost feels like their eyes follow you wherever you go...

Rolth is still digging Wil's idea to use his teleporting celestial friend to nab the metal pieces. He quietly suggests a modification to the plan. "What if the archon was invisible, teleported from around the corner behind us where the golems couldn't see him, grabbed the stuff invisibly, then teleported back around the corner? They would have no idea what happened or where the pieces went. Either way, why don't we back up a little, and heal up? That way, if it comes to a fight, we're in better shape. We could only have to fight one at a time in the corridor too, so that might help. It would be slow going, but we might actually prevail, unlike when all of them could gang up on us at once."

Rolth will back up his thought with a channel of Domi's healing power for the party.

(Channel energy = 5hp of healing for each party member.)

Kiwina agrees with Rolth's plan, and if the others make him some room will back up to leave space for Mak.

If Wil's friend doesn't get the pieces, Kiwina figures he's probably the fastest of the group, but not the best at squeezing. Or they could retreat and try the other exit from the room where the shadows were. He's willing to try it either way.

I recognize these things. I believe they are a type of golem. very sturdy against anything but adamantine, and my magic is completely useless against them. we can still use magic to help us, though. if someone is going to make a run for it I can make them faster. or i can run in and teleport myself back out. but maybe let's let Wil's friend try first.

I'll help with the moving further away down the corridor bit
He and Esmerelda make their way around the bend and into the darker part of the corridor where he again rests.

If someone wants to invisible me I'll try the sneaky thing, otherwise not really a fan of facing them again, even 7v1. Err 8v1, sorry he responds to a look from Esmerelda.

“Cicero,” Wil said to the bright ball of light.
“Can you reduce your light to a candle size, sweep into the center of the room and collect those metal pieces?”
“I’m not Cicero,” the archon whispered but agreed to slip into the room.
“I see, not Cicero… sorry. Can you teleport the pieces back here?”
The archon agreed. It appeared as a candle light and headed into the bigger room.

Mak's arm had come back into a classic fencing position as he sidestepped to the right(BB6) and came at the golem again. He lunged forward and his adamantine weapon bit deeply into the golem. He immediately stepped back and swiped at the creature as he did so, but the sweeping attack just missed.
