Mak knew very little about magic and it's various schools of thought. He did know about divination magic, summoning magic, and healing magic or whatever those things were called. He assumed it was all godly stuff. His religion classes told him a little about it, but he would have to leave the decision making to those better versed in those matters.
For himself he stood quietly and invisibly off to one side as he peered into the dim light of the room. When Rolth mentioned that the floor might be illusory Mak tried to see if it was indeed such as he looked for faults in the flagstones construction that might give such away.

There are two things in this room looks like some abjuration magic that is used as a trigger of sorts, probably an alarm or other sensor. it's through the whole room, so it has either already detected our presence or it is keyed to trigger off of a specific action or person.
this sarcophagus has some transmutation magic in it. from what I can sense of it, it is meant to increase sensitivity to something. You all see the Earth Elemental meld into the stone, for a few moments, then burst out the Sarcophagus with a silver circlet held aloft.
There's a dull creaking sound and a portcullis slams shut over the doorway leading to the tunnel you are all in. The wall with the holes in it lets out a distinctive screech of stone on stone as spikes emerge from all the wholes, and the wall begins to move forward with an inexorable slowness.
Also, the door that was an etching in the wall on the far side, where the trap is, shimmers for a moment and becomes a door...
However, there is a portcullis between you and the room, and the Earth Elemental cannot fit through the bars in the portcullis, nor can the circlet...

Rolth and Tsak look at the shadowy forms, and almost like a bad dream the forms evaporate into nothing. (Just to be clear, there are no shadows there in that central room. They did not reappear at this time.) Falco thinks quickly and remembers he has a crowbar in his Efficent Quiver. He grabs it and shoves it in to jam the portcullis from closing further. Mak makes sure the dagger is jammed in as well and pulls out another to help.
The portcullis is effectively held. Between two daggers, a crowbar, and your efforts it stays held about 5 feet off the floor. (It takes a DC 25 strength check to open it and to hold it, but it seems like these implements held in place would be effective. You think you could pound them in place to keep them there.)
As the spiked wall grates across the room, you see it move through the wooden sarcophagus, shattering it to pieces. You can also see there was a minotaur skeleton in the thing, which is also broken up as the pieces are pushed toward the now trapped Elyas.
To those in the hallway, as it moves past the entry Elays disappears from sight and it appears as if the wall is part of a rather large block of stone that now grates past them.
Elyas floats in the air above a pit. He sees the room where he is go dark as the spiked stone wall cuts off the light from the hallway. He still hears the grating sound and the last he saw, the spike wall was pressing toward him, moving about 10’ per round. Does he have another light source?
The Earth Elemental stands in the hallway for now, holding a silver circlet. I moved him to Elyas, for reasons outlined below.
----------------------------------- A minor clarification - the Earth Elemental will only obey the one that summoned it. Summoned creatures are not happy to be there, and while they will obey the summoner they do so under duress. Also, a summoned creature will follow the summoner and attack their opponents. Instructing it to take actions byond this, including telling it not to attack your opponents, requires that you speak its language. So in the future, unless Elyas knows Terran, a summoned Earth Elemental will simply stay with him and defend him.

Rolth chuffs in relief when the shadows fade back into nothingness. Then he realizes that the sound of stone grinding has changed, and moves around the corner to see what has become of the rest of the party. He groans in dismay to see that Elyas has not returned, and mutters a quick prayer to Domi the protector. He doesn't know what to do other than wait, so wait he does, ready to pitch in with brawn or wit if someone comes up with a bright idea.

Elyas shakes his head, seeing that the fake door turned into... another fake door. He saw how fast the wall was moving and thinks he has time for one more turn to investigate before it's too late. he casts light on his headband, then presses against the illusion of a door to see if he can go through it at all.
Will save to disbelieve the door illusion if needed: 28, natural 20

The shouts of alarm from the other end of the corridor cause Kiwina some concern until he hears it was a false alarm. Now all there is to do is wait until Elyas returns. After that, he supposes they'll wait until the wall stops moving, and maybe a bit longer to see if it returns.
"And if it doesn't go back into position, then we may have effectively sealed off this avenue from exploration."

Tsak keeps his crossbow trained on the door behin wich he thought he saw something. He waits patiently, ready to shoot anything real that comes thru the door.

Wil watches Elyas disappear. He is disappointed there is nothing much else he can do. "Your spells are sapped, partner," he says with a twang. "Well, I guess I'm gonna have to strap up my boots and figur' some'ting out." He joins the others in the other room, with the hope, that they found a way out of the maze they got themselves in. "We lost Elyas behind the stone wall," he says when he reaches the others. "We have to figure out something? What if we just run across the floor in that other room. Zip past those golums and into the roon on the other side?"

Falco sighs as he sees that tis whole thing has not played our in any way they would have hoped. At best the room will reset itself at some point. At worst they are going to have a heck of a time getting to Elyas.

Mak didn't want to abandon Elyas and was content to sit a while and wait on the crafty mage. He suspected the man had a way out of the room, or a plan to get out of the room. There was also the pit that he himself would have used to escape the crushing wall. Elyas in flight would be able to hover over the floor of that pit without touching the bottom and whatever was down there that the wall would have pushed them into.
"Elyas has got this." Mak said. "We just need to give him a minute." and then he was visible again.
The Wooden Sarcophagus (DM Mark) MAP d20+6=25 ; Wednesday September 8th, 2021 12:39:27 PM Rolth returns to the others, worried that Elays is missing. Elyas casts light and carefully studies the wooden door that appeared before him. Kiwina waits. Tsak remains on guard. Wil wanders around for a bit, worried that Elays is gone. Falco waits, hoping the trap before them will reset at some point. Mak waits, confident that Elyas will be alright.
For Elays: Highlight to display spoiler: {As Elyas floats above the pit, his insight pierces the illusion and he sees the wispy appearance of a wood door overlain on the carved stone of the wall. Looking below him, he can see the pit has spikes at the bottom 30 feet down. There are metal spikes behind him too, protruding from the wall, grinding inexorably toward him.
The Earth Elemental stands near Elyas holding the silver circlet. As the wall advances, the Earth Elemental simply stands there as the wall envelopes him, ignoring the wall as it rolled past him. Maybe this was advanced earth gliding.
Elyas is confident that his teleportation will work in here. I mean, it should, right?}
For the others, the metal portcullis is being held up - as long as you hold the daggers and crowbar jammed into it. You might be able to pound them in to make it permanent, but you know that if you let go of your tools right now the portcullis will fall.
And the stone face continues to grind past the entryway as the stone advances another 10'.

Kiwina's interest now is in seeing if Elyas appears or if the trap resets in a little while.

Rolth doesn't have a hammer, but offer to try to use his morningstar bang in the daggers and crowbar if needed. Otherwise, he listens for screams, sickening crunchy sounds, and other signs of Elyas' demise.
