Son Imod says to the others, "Do you think straw is a good enough material to provide padding for the mirrors? If not does anyone have any other suggestions?"
Son Imod either measures the mirrors himself using his silk rope and chalk or finds someone else with better tools to do it so as to have an accurate dimension as to the size of box needed.
He then finds the boxmaker, describes what he needs, asks if the boxmaker has 3 suitable sized crates already or if new crates need to be made what kind of time and cost committment they are looking at.
Once he is assured he has either the boxes he needs being made or purchased and that they can fit the mirror plus padding he goes to the straw vendor and purchases enough straw to provide padding for all three mirrors assuming that none of his party came up with a better padding material, otherwise he would go to secure it.

Wil contemplates a bath till he took in a whiff and recalled being stranded on a pirate ship for a couple of years. "I know!" He says loudly responding to himself. He then purchased a bath and some flowers for a persistent scent.. "something pleasant but not too feminine, please." he says. ... but.. he waits to enjoy the bath after a few drinks were finished. The drinking actually helped Wil become, quite charming. (Diplomacy: 16 - to socialize) .. and possibly find some information, if there is any... on anyone that knew of this curse the Petals were chasing. After being thoroughly drunk, Wil jumped in the bath and fell asleep, within the tub.

The Fishing Village - (DM Mark) Thursday December 2nd, 2021 11:02:45 PM Mak asks about some new clothing, but there are none. Still, he gets a bath and feels much better. There will be a sort of robe he can wear for the evening if he likes, and it will be clean and warm enough. He can have his clothes cleaned and mended, and they will be ready for him the following day. Rolth enjoys the evening and asks Pholus about the mirrors. He works with Elyas to examine the mirrors, as well as the rod and the staff. Kiwina talks with Ramsey and Seolas. Tsak is also interested in any rumors or news Ramsey may have. Like Mak, he also sees to a bath and tends to his clothing and armor. Son Imod takes some measurements of the mirrors and asks about a box maker. Mak offers his thought as well. Wil asks around about local info as well as a bath. He finds the falling asleep in a large tub of water means he wakes up shivering as the water has cooled. But he is otherwise fine and fresh smelling. Falco gets himself clean as well.
When Mak asks about buying some clothes the gruff liontaur innkeeper informs him, ”Yer not gonna find any ready made clothes for humans on Bridge Island. Most here are taurs, an’ most taurs wear little clothing, though minotaurs more than most. Ya might be able to barter for some from a local, maybe near the docks, but they would be used. Yer is best bet is to have some made. Would you like me to put you in touch with a clothier? I can send word out for down near the docks to see what somebody may have ready made, but I’m not sure it’ll be to your liking.”
“Now, packaging something up for shipping? You’d best see about that with the Tenneth. He a centaur with a warehouse down near the docks. But he’s a real craftsman when it comes to what you’re lookin’ for. Straw? Maybe, but I’d just let ol’ Tenneth handle that. Tell him what you want and he’ll fix you up. His prices are fair.”
Ramsey is asked about rumors of threats at sea. ”Rumors? We, I think most of the rumors here have come from us. Merrow are bad enough, but folk are pretty spooked about new of a Kraken. Now we never seen one, but we rescued that crow fella and the boy, and twas them that said there was a Kraken. I sure wouldn’t want to encounter a beast like that! The locals have tales of mermaids and harpies. And even some mermaids that’ll sing you onto the rocks. Still, travelling with you folk I think we’ll be pretty safe.
“As for the locals, not much to tell really. Seems to be a lot of different Tarus here, and it’s nice to see ‘em all together like that. There are a few elven merchants, and some dwarven shipswrights. A few folk like me as well. All pretty normal stuff.”
Night falls, and some locals filter into the now crowded common room of the inn. The staff are hopping and the usually gruff proprietor seems rather pleased.
The next day, the two ships are being provisioned, and should be ready to sail soon.

Son Imod sees Tenneth about securely packaging the mirrors for travel. He arranges with Pholus to secure payment for Tenneth after explaining they need to securely pack the mirrors for transport and they don't want them getting damaged by the journey so they'll need some type of padding in whatever packaging the warehouse Taur thinks would be best.
He also makes another herbal healing tonic of cure serious wounds. The next day he inquires about a nearby tree he could harvest some lifewood from for a new flask for the tonic of cure serious wounds he is planning to make that day.

Rolth will seek out Nyloth at the upstairs residence where we talked to him earlier, asking the fisherwoman for his whereabouts if he is not there when sought. Other than that, he'd like to visit the catacombs once Elyas has a chance to look at these magic items.
Mak(JamesM)(64/64)HP|AC:29(AO)/25/17T/19FF|CMD 29| Rapier,+1(Agile,,Adman)|15/10/-/-/-|(FA,WFin,PS, WFs)**|1d6 + 6(x2) Friday December 3rd, 2021 8:36:07 AM
Mak had an extra set of clothes and his old military uniform, but was still disappointed that the economy here was so taur centric as to exclude humanoid races. He took his old tattered, acid burned, and torn clothing and washed it as best he could before packing it up.
To Tsak he said. "If we are on these islands much longer I think I'm going to be wearing a loin cloth and little else. It seems at every turn I'm reminded that humans and humanoids aren't welcome here. Even here in a port town it seems the taur races are so insular there's no room for those unlike them."
So while Mak was generally a happy fellow he was a bit soured by that news. He did leave to seek out some of the elven merchants he'd heard about. Perhaps he'd find what he was looking for among them.

Then tries to find someone that is not freaked out by his outburst... "Excuse me, is there a temple of Wardd nearby. Something close? I think the only place I know of is on the Floating Island. I need some time to reflect and get some guidance.. maybe just a quiet place for me and my friends in my head?"

Kiwina relaxes a bit, if the only rumors at port are the ones they brought themselves. He takes some time to go examine the ship. Although he knows Ramsey takes excellent care of it, it is important to verify the trust they place in the crew. (for the inspection: profession sailor = 24, craft ships = 18, accidentally clicked twice on the last roll) He would never have trusted a captain that didn't verify certain things himself, and the crew's trust in the Petals should not be taken for granted.
After that, it's a matter of deciding where they're going. Once Elyas and Rolth have examined the mirrors, Kiwina figures that Pholus will explain what help he would like from the Petals -- whether that's going with him to Centaur Isle, running an errand for him elsewhere, or dismissing them. Still, while the ships are prepared Kiwina assumes they will be returning to Centaur Isle.
The Fishing Village - (DM Mark) Friday December 3rd, 2021 8:15:01 PM Son Imod wakes in the morning. He goes to see this Tenneth person. Later, he harvests and creates a lifewood flask and crafts a couple of healing tonics. Rolth goes to visit Nyloth. Then he heads to the Catacombs once the innkeeper directs him to the elven merchant who’s shop has an entrance. Mak is annoyed that clothes not are available for him, and decides this must mean humanoids are not welcome on Bridge Island. He chooses not to seek out the recommended taur clothier, preferring instead to instead seek out the elven merchants, and the gruff innkeeper will direct him to where one might be found, which happens to be the same one Rolth is headed to. Wil is glad for the privacy of the room of the bathing tub. He asks about a temple to Wardd in town. He will be directed to a small shrine on the outskirts of the village. It is unattended, but it has a quiet courtyard. Elyas examines the mirrors, but finds that he cannot identify them. The other items are a Staff of Stone and Earth and a Rod of Lordly Might. The three identify spells cost him three pearls. Kiwina return to The Rose with Ramsey and finds everything ship shape. Ramsey has called back the few sailors that were ashore.
Rolth goes to where Nyloth had been living above the home of the liontaur that made and sold fishing supplies. She informs him that Nyloth left a few days ago, probably on a departing ship.
Seolas bids the Petals and the centaurs goodbye, assuring them that he will be fine returning alone. ”Erdinan means well, but he worries too much.” He again thanks Pholus for his generous payment before he goes.
Son Imod is happy to seek out this person Tenneth. Pholus asks if Timapius may accompany him to arrange for payment. They two wind their way down to the warehouse area, and soon find Tenneth. He is happy to arrange what is needed, and sends a wagon to pick up the mirrors, and should be able to have them boxed up by the next morning. He will also arrange to have them transferred aboard The Pounding Fury. Timapius accompanies the mirrors, while Son Imod returns to work on his tonics.
For Son Imod: Highlight to display spoiler: {Son Imod finds the task of making his tonics is unusually tiring, and he just feels a little off (-1 Constitution Drain.)}
As Mak goes to seek out one of the elven merchants, he is directed to head to a shop near the waterfront along with Rolth. As Mak goes, he finds that what the innkeeper told him is true - most taurs he sees wear relatively little clothing in the way that the humanoid races do, and it tends to be more for effect than a need for warmth or protection. And while he can see that there are relatively few humanoids on Bridge Island he gets no sense that they are not welcome here.
Reaching the merchant, Mak will be told that the man has has a couple of cloaks that would fit him, but no other clothing for sale. The elf says he could arrange for such as he knows an excellent taur clothier in town.
Pholus proposes that the ships leave toe following day and travel together for safety on the way back to Centaur Isle.

When Nyloth is nowhere to be found, Rolth heads back to Pholus and company to continue discussions. "Pholus, are you or any of your companions members of the WLA? If so, would you be willing to help me continue my training while we travel, for the usual fee? If not, is there someone on Centaur Isle who could do so?"
Rolth also asks that any companions active in the port area inquire about Nyloth's destination upon leaving Bridge Isle. Also, what are we to do with the captured pirate ship, which seems in finer fettle now?
With all that accomplished, he is fine with heading out together to Centaur Isle the following morning.

Mak is thoroughly put out. Last he heard Pholus was wanting to depart the next day and that wouldn’t be enough time to have an explorers outfit made. He decided he’d just use his extra set and hope one of these ports of call had what he needed or they’d be there long enough for a custom fit. He always considered those fancy clothiers for the privileged like his family. He’d never had much use for them in spite of his tendency to throw around money.

Does the party sell things here at the Catacombs access on Bridge Island? Does anyone purchase anything?
During the day, a taur couple that the Petals brought here from Centaur Island pay the Petals a visit. The centaur is Caliphon and the liontauress is Yuria. They ask how the Petals have been, and are both very respectful and deferential in meeting Pholus, Brygape and Timapius. Pholus is disappointed they felt they had to leave Centaur Island to seek out a life together, but he understands. While he agrees they were smart to come to Bridge Island, he expresses his hope that things are changing in the future that would not make this necessary. He gives hard glances at Brygape and Timapius as he says this, and the two seem to take his meaning and agree that things need to change.
Assuming everyone is ready, the centaurs board The Pounding Fury early the next morning. Do all the Petals board The Rose? The ships sail unless we need to wait for some reason.

He raises the question of how we should divide our forces on the return trip to Centaur Isle. It might be wise to have some extra help on board the Pounding Fury, although another option is to just make ready to leap or teleport across if needed. The latter requires resources, of course. What do his fellow Petals and Pholus think? Rolth will go along with the group consensus, and is happy to be aboard either vessel.

"Shut up," he curses as quietly as he can. "Gambling is a fool's game," he says as Cicero. "Oh, and don't bother trying to hold in the demons. This human has demons," he says directly to Ursovial. His voice gravelly and different. "I'm so sorry," Wil's voice returns. "What did you do that for? Uncalled for. What is wrong with you" He began to shout as he argued with himself. Before the rest Falco offers to clear up Son Imod's condition if he can find a vendor to purchase diamon dust. He would also like to purchase two additional portions for later castings of Restoration.
In the morning Falco meditates on the power of change brought about by the Warper-Sar and asks for spells more in line with water travel. Once set, and after grabbing a bite to eat, he will seek out Rolth and Kiwina. "Some of should be on the other ship I suppose. I do not mind being one of those on the Fury if you think that is wise. If nothing else I could heal and hide from trouble."

Two Ships - which one are you on? - (DM Mark) Tuesday December 7th, 2021 4:39:02 PM Mak grumbles about fancy rich people and their fancy clothes as he visits the Catacombs to buy some armbands. Rolth visits the Catacombs as well. He greets Yuria and Caliphon and discusses them with Pholus. Wil plays cards and comes out ahead. Ursovial makes a hasty departure. Kiwina will remain on The Rose, but thinks some of the Petals should sail on The Pounding Fury. Son Imod wonders if his fatigue may be the same thing affecting Pholus, and asks the Lead Stallion about this. He considers casting Restoration on himself in the morning before the Petals depart. He also tries to make some herbal healings that might help the weakened centaurs. Tsak and Esmerelda board The Pounding Fury. Elyas says he will sail aboard The Pounding Fury. He figures he can always teleport people back to The Rose if needed. (Elyas will need to be aware of the limitations on Dimension Door or Teleport.) Falco offers to cast Restoration on Son Imod to see if it will remedy his situation. He is able to purchase the requisite diamond dust for the spell from the elven merchant in town. (How much does he buy?)
(Timing wise, there was (1) the evening at Seolas’ farmstead when the Fey Woman was summoned. Then there was (2) a day of mostly travel to the fishing village near the ships, and a stay in the inn. There was (3) one full day in the fishing village as everyone prepared to leave. Then the following morning (4) everyone boards the ships to leave. The centaurs are anxious to return, but can likely have some down time once you reach Centaur Isle.)
Pholus is not surprised by the opposition they faced on Centaur Isle. ”Centaur society values freedom and knowledge, but do not assume we are not just as prone to being stuck in our old ways as any people can be. Minotaurs are thought to be stubborn, but I have seen great stubbornness to change in my people. Liontaurs are rumored to be rash and impulsive, but I assure you centaurs can be very rash and reactive if they think someone is forcing them to do something they disagree with. No, I hope that greater coordination among the isles will foster the more open society we see here on Bridge Island - Domi created this island to provide that example.
“This is why who is chosen as Lead Stallion among the centaurs matters, but even so centaur herds and herd leaders are very independent. Sometimes our strength is also our weakness. Change will happen, but it will take time.”
Son Imod lets Falco cast Restoration on him, since Falco has some diamond dust. (If Son Imod wants to cast Restoration, he can run and buy diamond dust before the ships leave.) He finds that it does restore his constitution. He does his best to use his herbalism skills to help the centaurs. (Pathfinder doesn’t really provide a way to use herbalism to effect any healing, but we can kinda wing it.) He finds that Timapius and Barbale begin to respond to this, but it takes time. He’s not sure Pholus is getting better though. (I assume this means Son Imod will board The Pounding Fury for the voyage to continue this?)
Pholus says that Son Imod could not have contracted the wasting effect the centaurs seem to have from their time trapped in the mirrors. Pholus assumes that he is weaker than the others because he is older.
The ships set sail. Elyas, Tsak, and Esmerelda are aboard The Pounding Fury, and maybe Son Imod and Falco too? Kiwina is on The Rose. Where are Rolth, Mak, Son Imod and Falco on the voyage?
Tsak makes the rounds meeting the crew. Captain Kira will introduce everyone, and you find there are a couple of new centaurs that signed on to the crew from Bridge Island, but they’re still a bit shorthanded. Pholus, Barbale and Timapius are still a bit weak. The Petals on The Pounding Fury find their help aboard ship is appreciated if they are willing.
The day passes without event - any activities that day? You will sail through the night and for most of the next day before reaching Centaur Isle.

(ProfSailor=17) Tsak is grateful for Captain Kira's introductions and notices the Fury has less hands aboard than is ideal. He takes every opportunity he can to assist as the vessel makes its way to Centaur Isle. He takes his normal watch in the evening when his night vision is an asset.
Esmerelda spends her days in the sun and her nights curled up somewhere near Tsak.
Dawn on the morning after they set out finds the two of them at the stern of the boat with a fishing line dangling in the ship's wake. Tsak enjoys the peace and quiet for an hour or so before he gets back to work helping the other sailors.

Mak was ready to board the Rose when the time came before then he took his leave and ventured into the nearby woods for some private meditation with Pantheon. When he returned his sour mood had faded and he walked with a spring in his step. He also had found a way to adjust his ill fitting shirt with a couple of copper sleeve garters that kept the cuffs from covering his palms or getting in the way of his bow string.
Once aboard the Rose Mak climbed into the crows nest and deposited his bow for safe keeping and then descended to perform his duties in getting the ship ready to sail as the tide turned.

He has many questions. Tsak does his best to help out sailing aboard the The Pounding Fury. Son Imod spends his time aboard The Pounding Fury tending to Pholus, Barbale and Timapius. He also spends some time by himself working on some tonics, using his crystal flask to do so. (I know those roles did not include using that crystal flask, but Son Imod really can’t imagine making his tonics without it, so he does use it and gets that +4.) Kiwina keeps a sharp eye out as The Rose sails to Centaur Isle. (I sent an email about the use of your Spirit Bond/Aukuma.) Rolth distributes recent treasure, and then boards The Rose to keep a look out for trouble. Mak boards The Rose with a spring in his step. He puts his bow in the crow’s nest and lends a hand as the ship gets underway. Elyas puts most of his things on The Rose but sails on the centaur’s ship, lending some magical mending to things there. Falco helps aboard The Pounding Fury where he can and takes his turn at the ship’s watch.
Son Imod is popular aboard The Pounding Fury for his tending to the centaurs. (Not sure how many tonics you have made because I’m not tracking those rules. But feel free to infer from the days listed in the previous post as well as this day aboard The Pounding Fury.) Son Imod’s work somehow leaves him tired again (1 point of CON drain.)
Likewise, Tsak, Elyas and Falco are most welcome as those who helped save Pholus, Barbale and Timapius.
The day goes well. The skies are mostly overcast, but there is no rain. Night falls as the ships continue to sail.
Late at night Rolth is part of the watch on the The Rose when he hears one of the crewmen cry out. He looks over and in the dim torch light he sees a bright electrical arc as the crewman falls dead on the deck. Cries are raised aboard The Rose, and Rolth can see there are several figures, weird figures, that move onto the stern of the ship. The crew runs away from them. Rolth can see that these are medium sized creatures, made up of some sort of wet slithering mass that resolves into a vaguely humanoid shape. They are dripping water. They also occasionally crackle with blue energy, but not enough to see them well in this dim light.
Kiwina, Wil and Mak aboard The Rose: Perception DC 10 to hear the cries on deck. It will then take a full round to rise and get up to the main deck. (I assume Mak would bring his bow with him below decks before he goes to sleep.)
Falco on the The Pounding Fury: Perception DC 12 to hear the cries from the The Rose sailing about 200 feet away.
Tsak, Elyas and Son Imod on The Pounding Fury - you are asleep until someone raises an alarm on The Pounding Fury.
All on the The Rose - you’re dealing with dim lighting on the ship (concealment, 20% miss chance.) No concealment or miss chance if you have dark vision or low light vision.
All on The Pounding Fury - you are too far away to effectively see figures well on the deck of The Rose. But you can see where the ship is from the dim light on the deck.

Son Imod seeks out Falco. He says, "I think I have a problem. I am plagued by some effect that keeps draining my vitality. I can attest it is not related to the wasting sickness I am treating the centaurs for. There is no way it could be related to my shiny new flask that fey gave me either. Can you cast restoration on me again and help me to get to the bottom of this mystery?"
Later that evening
Son Imod goes above deck to learn what the commotion is. With his ring of sustenance he doesn't need that much sleep anyway so odds are he was up. All he can see however is the dim lighting on the other ship from the distance the Fury is at.
He peers through the darkness trying to get a better look. (Perception: 29)

Mak's snores were loud enough to wake the dead and likely the reason these monsters on deck found them. He'd likely disturbed their rest, but with that first crack of electricity and the dying scream of the crewman Mak woke with a start.
On the road Mak had taken to sleeping in his light armor, but here on the ship he'd taken to removing it at night. When the alarm went up Mak rolled out of his hammock and grabbed both his bow and quiver (move action) and then grabbed his sword as well.(second move action)
It would be another few seconds before he'd be on deck.

During the night, he wasn’t really sleeping on the centaur ship and he looks across to the other ship to see what the ruckus is. Falco hears what is happening and raises the alarm. Tsak and Esmerlda wake and head up to the main deck. Elyas does likewise.
Son Imod, Falco, Tsak, Esmerelda and Elyas are all on deck now.
Pholus, Barbale and Timapius hear the alarm and move to the main deck. Pholus barks orders. ”Corvus - activate a feather boat. Kira, bring the ship around.” One of the crew responds and opens a nearby box. He pulls out a strangely folded feather and moves to the port side of the ship. ”This will provide a faster transport to your ship. I hope we will be in time.”
Those on this ship can see movement on the other vessel, along with occasional flashes of blue light. But with the darkness and distance you cannot see enough to target anything.
Profession Sailor DC 10:Highlight to display spoiler: {Once the feather token boat is deployed, it will still take a few rounds to reach the other ship. It will be several minutes before the ships come close to each other.}
The Rose ---------------------- Rolth flies into a rage and charges the nearest creature. He pounces on the thing, but only three of his attacks have effect. Two actually - his bite fails to cause damage (damage reduction 10/slashing.) Wil hears the crew hollering and runs out on the deck to see what the problem is. ( Wil cannot cast a spell this round.) Kiwina does the same. Mak rolls out of bed, grabs his things, and moves up to the main deck. (I figured that full round included grabbing your stuff.)
Will, Kiwina and Mak show up on deck but without armor. They are met with a strange sight - Rolth seems to be battling a few creatures composed of a mass of slithering eels. They see occasional flashes of blue energy dancing across them.
One of the crew sees Rolth engaged in combat. He charges one of them but misses. These creatures are tricky to actually damage. The eel creature attacks the sailor back, killing him.
Rolth finds this thing is just gross. It seems to be composed of dozens of undulating eels tightly knotted into a slithering, humanoid shape. He soon finds these are electric eels as the three creatures converge on Rolth.
Two of the creatures converge on Rolth. One strikes him twice and bites him as well. He takes: 8 damage plus 6 electricity. 8 damage plus 6 electricity. 8 damage plus 10 electricity. 8 damage plus 4 electricity.
One of the crew shouts, ”Look! There are more in the water!”
Indeed, there are three more. Two begin crawling up the stern of the ship. The third peels off an eel and throws it at the crewman. It hits the man and he falls to the deck.
A few more crew shoot crossbow bolts to no effect. Ramsey shows up as well. ”Strike the sail and steer us toward the other ship.” But it’s clear no one is at the helm in the rear of the ship, though you can see the wheel is tied off. One of the sail lines is struck, slowing the ship a bit. Profession Sailor DC 10:Highlight to display spoiler: {You know they only struck one sail to slow the ship. Upon hearing that there are more creatures in the water, Kiwina wants to keep them from boarding. His fan feather token is in his haversack, though, down below. Where it does no good.
Instead of moving the ship, Kiwina intones, "Tugann an chosaint seo cosaint neamhtheoranta do rud beo ó dhamáiste gach ceann de na cúig fhoinse fuinnimh a roghnaíonn tú: aigéad, fuar, leictreachas, tine nó fuaim," to gain some protection from the creatures' shocks (casts resist energy), and moves towards the fight while his rod becomes a longspear.

Mak attacks one of the creatures. The thin blade glides into the thing, but finds no purchase. Rolth steps back a bit and casts Mirror Image, bringing up three additional Rolths. Letting go of his rage he is fatigued as he draws his glave. Kiwina casts Resist Energy, Electricity on himself as he alters his weapon. (Is altering his weapon a move action or a standard action?) Wil casts entropic shield on himself, which is good because he isn’t wearing his armor. Falco casts Resist Energy, Electricity on Son Imod. He jumps into the magical boat. Son Imod takes to the air and casts a spell. He is 120 feet from The Rose. His ability to see what is going on is limited to the distance of his darkvision. He considers casting fire onto a wooden ship next round. Tsak tells Esmerela to stay behind as he also jumps into the magical boat.
It will take the rest of the round for Pholus, Timapius and Barbale to get down into the boat with the Petals. It will start moving next round. It will move at 60’ per round, taking 4 rounds to reach The Rose.
Those on The Rose notice these creatures are made up of many creatures and lack any discernible anatomy, so they are immune to crits and being flanked.
The crew of The Rose continue to shoot crossbows at the things to no effect.
One of the creatures move 5’ to attack Rolth, removing all three images which saves the liontaur from three hits.
One attacks Mak three times, hitting: AC 24 for 8 damage and 7 electricity damage AC 33 for 6 damage and 9 electricity damage AC 35 for 4 damage and 6 electricity damage
A second one moves up to Mak, hitting AC 34 for 9 damage and 7 electricity damage
Two more in the back are on the ship. They throw eel darts at Rolth, hitting AC 35 for 8 damage and 6 electricity damage, and AC 32 for 5 damage and 4 electricity damage. —----------------------------------------------------- The SHIPBOARD BATTLE is here.

he visualizes the distance between the two objects shrinking, then steps off of the railing of the Fury, appearing in the middle of the deck of the Rose.

The strikes and electrical charges ripped through the young nobleman like a hot knife through butter. He knew he wouldn't be able to sustain another round of attacks where he was so he leapt back and somersaulted away and sprung on his hands away from slithering creatures. When he stopped his withdrawal Mak's sword was lying on the ground at his feet where he'd dropped it and his bow was in his hands.
Mak fired a single arrow into the one in front of him and luckily he nicked one of it's appendages, but it was too little, too late.

Calling on Domi, he channels energy to restore a small amount of health, knowing that it will aid not only himself and his friends, but also the nearby monsters. Rolth Niheow (BatMark) (20/81HP | AC: 18; Touch: 12; CMD: 23) | Saturday December 11th, 2021 10:45:49 PM
Rolth knows that the Petals are in trouble, and prays to Domi the protector for a moment of grace. One hand in his pocket, he feels the blue gem that we got from the Council and crushes it in his fist. A large air elemental appears in front of him and Mak. Rolth points at G1 and G2 to make clear which foes to prioritize.
(Burn a Hero point to gain an additional action, used to activate the elemental gem. Hoping for a whirlwind to mess with both G1 and G2, but of course defer to the DM as to what the elemental actually does, since Rolth does not speak Auran.)

What was a distant conflict is now a scary battle up close. Mak jumps back out of battle and shoots, hitting one of the creatures. Kiwina attacks and then changes his weapon to a slashing glave. He warns of using fireballs on the ship. Rolth staggers back and then channels some healing. All within 30’ of Rolth are healed for 5 hit points. Rolth reaches into his pocket and heroically pulls out a gem to bring forth a large air elemental! Wil heals Mak for 16 points (2d8+6 - not sure where you got 52 - also should roll each d8 separately because you reroll 1’s). Son Imod casts Bear’s Endurance on himself and continues forward. He is 60 feet from The Rose, and from here he can see the battle in the dim light (concealment, 20% miss chance.) Tsak hops on the Swan Boat. Falco does as well, and casts a spell.
The Swan Boat begins to speed forward carrying Tsak, Falco, Pholus, Timapius and Barbale. It moves 60 feet, and is 140 feet from The Rose. The centaurs ready bows and swords, grim looks on their faces.
Tsak and Falco - Sense Motive or Heal Check DC 12: Highlight to display spoiler: {You can see that these centaurs are still too weak to fight, and may be easily killed.}
The air elemental knows what to do. It uses a standard action to transform into a whirlwind, and then uses it’s movement to move over each of the eel things. I roams the deck, even trying to capture the one clinging to the side of the ship. Incredibly, none are damaged and only one (G5) is picked up by the whirlwind (no damage due to damage reduction.) It ends it’s move where it started, defending Rolth.
The suspended G5 attacks the air elemental, hitting it twice and inflicting 10 damage and 14 electrical damage.
The others bear down on the Petals, and you find they have a 10’ reach.
One attacks Rolth, hitting him twice for 8 and 6 physical damage as well as 8 and 7 electrical damage. Rolth falls to the deck with (-9 HP.)
Two attack Kiwina, each one hitting him twice each for 6, 7, 4 and 4 physical damage along with 9, 7, 4, and 6 electrical damage. The two in the back throw eel darts at Kiwina, hitting him for 7 and 7 physical damage and 1 and 1 electrical damage.
(Whew, that’s a lot of rolls The 2d6+3 rolls were wrong - ignore those.)
The crew continue to shoot crossbows at the things, not sure what else to do. They’re pretty scared.

Kiwina is a bit surprised to see that these things have a reach equal to his with the glaive, but they don't seem to be quite like anything he's seen or heard of. One can only guess what surprise they will show next. He doubts he can damage them with his hooves, so he might as well remain at this distance. Luckily, none of their electrical attacks overcame his spell. Unluckily, they do enough physical damage that it won't take long anyway.

OOC: Noticed in Wil's post he healed Rolth, but the DM post said Mak. Until I hear otherwise I'm thinking Rolth was healed and the DM made a mistake. :)
Mak took another step back in the hope of increasing his distance from the silthering figures to aft. He drew out two arrows, nocked them and fired at the first of the eel-like creatures. Both arrows skittered off to one side deflected by the air elementals vicious winds. Another arrow loaded into the bow and he fired with better results, but again the arrow only grazed the creature as it passed through and out the other side. With Mak's next arrow he aimed carefully and fired once more. Again his arrow grazed the creature.

(I adjusted the area of the effect based - it’s not actually a square. Feel free to recenter it.) Wil casts Protection from Energy, electricity on Rolth. He then calls on his heroic reserves to heal the liontaur for 22 points. Tsak worries that the centaur leaders may not be recovered enough for this fight. Son Imod charges the creature facing Rolth, but misses in his attack. (Not sure where you are. I placed you as best I could. If you’re flying near the air elemental you could be in trouble. If you land in the tentacles you could be in trouble. If you’re hovering you need to make a DC 15 Fly check. If you’re not hovering and did not land, you need to move half or all of your movement next round. See the rules on the Fly skill.) Kiwina attacks a creature (G2), slashing into the thing. Rolth rises from the deck, provoking an AOO. He lunges to hit the nearest creature, damaging it twice. The creature hits Rolth for 5 physical damage. Mak steps back and shoots, hitting the creature in front of Rolth for 5 points as his arrows are swallowed by the writhing mass of eels. (yep - it was Rolth that was healed last round.) Falco rides in the magical boat.
The tentacles fail to affect the creatures (CMD 33).
The Swan Boat begins to speed forward carrying Tsak, Falco, Pholus, Timapius and Barbale. It moves 60 feet, and is 80 feet from The Rose.

The crew continue to shoot crossbows at the things, not sure what else to do. They’re pretty scared.
The creature (G5) that was caught up in the air elemental escapes, landing on the deck. The air elemental again sweeps over the creatures, unaffected by the tentacles in its whirlwind form. It manages to pick up G5 and G6 inflicting a bit of damage in the process. These two creatures attack the elemental, inflicting a fair amount of damage in spite of the elemental’s damage reduction. It ends it’s turn again near Rolth. The whirlwind is 40 feet high and 20 feet across at the top. It has destroyed the aft sail on The Rose.
Then, the creatures move up. G1 moves 5’ and attacks Rolth, hitting him for 6, 8 and 6 physical damage. Again, Rolth falls on the deck. (-12 hit points)
G2 advances on Mak, provoking an AOO from Kiwina. He hits the archer for 9 physical damage and 8 electrical. Mak falls on the deck. (-4 hit points)
G3 moves up to Kiwina, hitting him for 6 physical damage. Then G4 strikes the centaur for 4 physical damage.
For those on The Rose, Perception DC 15: Highlight to display spoiler: {A warm breeze blows across the deck of The Rose. Oddly, you notice there seem to be a few tree leaves in the wind, though you are not near any land. Some are quickly caught up in the whirlwind’s effect.}

The swarming eels rush forward and over Rolth as he went down in front of Mak. The young archer could see what was coming and twisted to avoid the incoming assault from the charging eel swarm. Shiny black eel headed creatures from within the swirling mass bit at him as he jerked back only to have the electrical charge these creatures exuded cause him to convulse and drop to the deck.
Mak's eyes rolled into the back of his head as he went down with an unceremonious thump.

He takes a 5’ step back and begins summoning a creature. (Backing up further would be a move action and your summoning spell is a full round action.) Mak is able to stabilize his decline. He lies on the deck unconscious but alive. Falco casts a spell, and tries to tell the centaurs to leave this fight to the Petals. Elyas begins a summoning spell. Kiwina continues to fight. Rolth heroically ensures that he stabalizes. Son Imod hovers over the sea and strikes at G1, slashing the creature. Tsak waits for the boat to get closer.
The Swan Boat speeds on carrying Tsak, Falco, Pholus, Timapius and Barbale. It moves 60 feet, and is just 20 feet from The Rose. The centaurs release a volley of arrows, and while one of them hits, it does no actual damage. The centaurs grimly draw their swords, hoping their blades will be more effective. Falco and Tsak know that the Petals will need to either protect or dissuade (Diplomacy or Intimidate DC 15) the centaurs from fighting or they will likely die.
The two creatures in the whirlwind try to escape. One (G5) does, falling on the deck near Mak, and one does not. G5 provokes an AOO from Kiwina as it stands.
Again, the air elemental moves over the creatures. Carrying G6, it also manages to pick up G3 and G5. As it returns to its place near Rolth, the three entrained creatures attack it. The air elemental is killed and these three fall, two on the deck and one down in the water.
G4 moves up 5’ and attacks Kiwina three times, hitting the centaur for 7, 6 and 8 physical damage and 2 and 4 electrical. Then G2 attacks Kiwina also hitting for 5, 5, and 8 damage and 1 electrical.
Then G1 moves 5’ and strike Kiwina twice for 4 and 4 damage, and 7 and 2 electrical damage.
That’s a total of 63 damage to Kiwina and accounts for -5 electricity resistance. Kiwina falls at -8 hit points.
In contrast to the cold ocean air, everyone can now feel a warm breeze blowing through the area. But even more oddly, the breeze seems to carry a few tree leaves as well - some green others in yellows and reds. There is also a faint earthy smell - and, is that a hint of jasmine, rose and musk?

As the Rose comes into view Tsak sees less petals standing and fighting than he ought. That's a bit of a concern. He takes another look at the skinny taurs in the boat.
You lot stay in this boat and try harassing them with arrows. There's enough bodies up there already, don't need no more, hear! He gives them a stare that brooks no argument.
For a second he thinks he can hear voices carried on the wind, but he can't see where they might have come from. His attention is drawn back to Rose. Where's Rolth, where's Kiwina, where's Mak? Shouting will do no good, he draws his falchion and prepares to retrieve his boat and his mates from whoever or whatever is on that deck.

Arrows arced through the sky and Mak's found purchase in his target just as a wall of horses and lances hit the front lines, his archers, and the commanders at his back. Suddenly they were hand to hand as he watched his men get cut down by the mounted soldiers. Mak ducked, fired, and when his arrows were spent he drew his sword and fought. It seemed to him as if hours passed on the battlefield as he moved from one fight to another as they grouped up and fought against their foes. Son Imod Heals Rolth, urging him to withdraw. Rolth is prone and knows he cannot safely withdraw from combat. So he instead decides to inspire his friends.
Son Imod tries to hover where he is, but cannot maintain this (Fly 3). He falls. He also tries to grab the rails as he falls, and this doesn’t work either (Tried Reflex DC 15, rolled 14. Tried Acrobatics DC 10, rolled 6.) He falls in the water near one of the creatures.
At Tsak’s words the centaurs look both offended and cowed at the same time. Even so, Pholus seems to understand and extends a calming hand to Timapius and Barbale to interrupt their objections. They put away their swords and draw their bows and fire at the nearest creature. Their shots are ineffective.
The creatures attack. Strangely, the one near Kiwina ignores the Hound Archon and instead moves up 5’ to attack Kiwina. He is hit three times for a total of 21 points of physical damage.
Rolth now faces three opponents! G1 attacks the liontaur also hitting him three times for a total of 21 pointsm of physical damage and 2 points of electricity that get past his energy resistance, leaving him at -18 hit points. He falls to the deck dead, his inspiring song cut short.
With Rolth down, G2 and G5 move up to Wil and attack once each, hitting him for 10 and 10 physical damage and 3 and 6 electrical damage (unless he also has energy resistance on him.) Strangely they ignore the crocodile, which allows the croc an AOO against G2.
G3 moves up, peels an eel off himself, and throws it at Elyas, hitting the mage for 11 points of physical damage.
The creature G6 climbs the ship past Son Imod, provoking an AOO from the minotaur.
The black tentacles writhe on the deck, grasping the mast and the gunwales and trying to grapple the creatures. They are no match for these creatures composed of a mass of eels, and are largely ignored by them.
—-------------------------------------- The warm, mild breeze suddenly picks up! There are many more leaves now and they seem to blow around the The Rose. As the Petals look on, time seems to slow on the ship. Even the centaurs on the Swan Boat look like they are moving slower and slower. Tsak watches in wonder as Barbale shoots an arrow and it almost seems to hang in the air.
And then the Petals can see nothing as blowing leaves surround them, obscuring their sight. In this blinded state, they suddenly feel some motion and their stomachs seem to flip-flop a bit. Wil’s summoning spell is interrupted. Rolth’s disembodied spirit sees this scene on the deck, and is sucked…somewhere. And then the leaves are gone.
You all find yourselves seated at a large dining table in the middle of a forest. Lights twinkle in the boughs and candles glow on the table in the wan twilight that illuminates this glade. The table before you is laid out with a resplendent selection of various meats, cheeses, fruits and vegetables. There is cool water and some lovely red wine in goblets before each of you. You find you are quite hungry - more than you realized.
Except for Rolth. He’s not hungry because he’s dead. Still his spirit floats above the scene, feeling a pull to depart. He thinks he can see rivulets of Woldsblood pulsing through this place. Weird.
Looking around, there are fawn attendants, the gentler cousins to satyrs, clad in some rather garish livery serving food and pouring various liquids. Fairies and pixies seem to flit about through the trees and above the table, occasionally darting in to take some morsel of food. You notice amongst the surrounding forest are some trees that seem to have faces and are able to move on their own as they watch this gathering. A group of fairyfolk off to the left seem to be playing harps, flutes and drums providing pleasant music.
At the head of this table is a woman, neither young nor old with a commanding presence. She has the upswept ears of the fey and her auburn locks are drawn up into a complicated style, interwoven with holly leaves and bright red berries so that they look like a crown. She is dressed in a rich gown of greens and golds. Standing behind her is a figure you recognize - it’s Wemore the Buckyan.
Rolth, Kiwina and Mak are there, slumped over at the table. The woman at the head looks at them and says, ”Oh, wake up my dears. You cannot enjoy the feast if you are asleep.” She gestures and Kiwina and Mak awake, seemingly in good health.
Rolth is a different story. His spirit sees this woman look at it where it hovers in the air. “Oh, I hadn’t noticed you there. Come now, you belong in here, don’t you think?” She gestures and Rolth’s spirit is suddenly back in his body and he jerks up and gasps in air!
Wil, as a cleric of Gargul realizes this woman just restored Rolth to life, usually the purview of only his God.
At the table with you is an odd assortment of creatures. There are a couple of centaurs, some Satyrs, and what almost seem like elves - but not quite. Some are dressed in great finery, some in feather garments, and others nearly naked - though somehow just as properly attired in this place. One you recognize - Ailleann, her bright red hair drawn up in a tight coif, dressed this time in silver and azure blue. She smiles slightly, a smile that does not quite reach her eyes, and inclines her head to the Petals in recognition. Great sapphires dangle from her upswept ears.
This woman at the head of the table says to the Petals, ”Welcome. You were in a terrible predicament. Be at peace in this place. Eat and drink and be well. For we are entering Yuletide, and it seemed like you could perhaps use a bit of rest and merriment. Be at ease in this place, heroes of the Tauric Isles.”
If any of the Petals try to rise to bow she waves it away as she says, ”Oh sit down, sit down. I get quite enough of that.”
Several at the table echo this welcome, nodding in your direction as they raise their glasses to the Petals.

Except for the possible loss of his equipment Mak was extremely pleased to away from the fight on the deck of the Rose. That Rolth had gotten himself into that dire circumstance was a shock to him, but all seemed well when he was asked to wake and he did so. He'd no idea that Rolth had died as he'd been unconscious at the time.
The experience here was somewhat new to him so he didn't even consider what might come next. As far as he knew they'd all been whisked away by some benevolent being.
Mak recognized none of the newcomers so thought to ask. "Who do we have to thank for this timely intervention?"

Will is completely focused on trying to figure out how to defeat these creatures. When brought over to the new place he stands and stares for a long time. He watches as the fey raises Rolth from the dead. This snaps him from his stare and he immediately attempts to stand but obeys and sits back down. He is completely fascinated with the fey and watches her intently. "I'm a cleric of Wardd now but Gargul is so fascinating.... umm... Where are the voices? Cicero? Where are you?" Tsak's stomach flips, his mind whirls and his wold slips askew, like falling sideways out of the crows nest and disappearing into the sky. A most unpleasant experience. He plants his feet, feeling firm soil beneath them and waits for the rest of his senses to catch up. He sees colour, he hears laughter, he smells... he smells... roast boar? And a nice merlot!
He takes the nice lady at her word and digs in; ooh roast potatoes, and pumkin, and peas and, and, he starts where he is and heads toward the sound of Petals filling a plate as he goes.
Maab? - (DM Mark) Friday December 17th, 2021 12:51:13 PM Elyas asks, ”What is this place? What is happening back on our ship? Is our crew safe?” Mak thinks he recognizes none of these people, but in fact there are two of these fey that you’ve seen before recently. He asks, "Who do we have to thank for this timely intervention?" Wil mentions Wardd. Mak laments the loss of his equipment, but something catches his eye. Behind each of the Petals is all of their gear they left behind - armor, weapons, everything. Given his recent concerns he does note that these beings have some really nice clothing, some overly ostentatious and some carefully understated. But all seemingly well made.
Surprisingly, the rest of the Petals are silent. Perhaps they’re still reeling from the experience.
A dryad in a diaphanous gown of pale green that leaves little to the imagination regards Elyas. She smiles as she replies, "What is this place? Why this is the Twilight Vales. It can be a place of terrifying horrors and exquisite delights. This particular part of the Vales though is relatively safe for folk such as yourselves. The better question in the Vales is not what is this place, but rather what do you want it to be?” Elyas is pretty sure this is more an invitation than a question.
The regal woman at the head of the table answers Elyas’ other questions. ”Nothing is happening back on your ship for the moment. Your crew is safe for now and will hardly know you’re gone. You have been pulled out of that space, and from your perspective also out of time there. Alas, you will need to return, but perhaps in a better state - if you wish it. But we have plenty of time before that happens.”
“Whom do you have to thank? You should probably thank Wemore here. We generally try to be aware of the Heroes of the Wold but I was not aware of your dire situation, so it was rather fortuitous that Wemore came to my attention and thought to mention you to me. Perhaps you should thank Ailleann -I understand you’ve met. And perhaps you should thank your cleric of Wardd as well, for it’s rather lucky that circumstance conspired causing me to look in on you when I did.”
Conversation commences at the table, with some there asking questions of the Petals. They ask who you are, why you are called Petals, do you worship Flower, what’s it like to be a mortal, what was going on that you were drawn here, how do you know that little Buckyan? You soon hear them refer to the woman at the head of the table as Queen Maab as if you knew this all along.
One Sense Motive roll will apply to both.

Kiwina admits that he would like to know some weakness of the creatures they were fighting. "As they were aquatic, I assume it may be fire or dryness. I do not want to see the Rose burned, though I would rather see that than the death of our crew. They treat us well and loyally -- we owe them the same. If we are indeed to return to the fight as we left it, we have to make sure The Pounding Fury can rescue Ramsey and the others."
When it comes to the questions the fey put to them, Kiwina is willing to be honest. He explains that they are the Petals because {i]the Eight-Petaled Rose[/i] was the name the hastily-formed group that competed in the Taurnament of Roses chose when they learned that they needed one. The ship is the Rose because it's the home for the group. Although many of the members of the group have changed, they still refer to themselves as the Petals.
Kiwina himself honors Pantheon, but is not sure that he worships anyone. By that he means that in the small community where he grew up, there were no temples. He has found Pantheon most agreeable with his outlook, he was not taught his outlook because his family or community followed Pantheon.
The buckyan's story is the buckyan's to tell. Kiwina is glad to see that he appears to be doing well, though.

Son Imod is able to pick up on the social queues being put down by the fairies in this court.
He says, "My lady Queen Ma'ab what do you know of curses? I feel like I am drained of vitality and when Rolth cast a spell to restore it the drain was only temporarily relieved. I have recently started treating the Centaurs who were stuck in mirrors with herbs of a wasting illness they have been afflicted with but I do not think my condition is related."
Queen Maab - (DM Mark) Wednesday December 22nd, 2021 2:53:05 PM Elyas wonders about the Fey and about Queen Maab. He also ponders the weird eel creatures the Petals fought, and with Rolth’s help he recalls a bit of lore. Wil is glad for the meal. He looks forward to a bit of peace here, especially from the constant voices in his head. Falco thanks Weymore for interceding on the Petals’ behalf, wondering if perhaps the Petals can help him. Rolth says little, but says he is grateful to Weymore and Queen Maab and the others for the hospitality. Oh, and for bringing him back to life. Tsak listens and watches the fey. Kiwina answers the questions about the Petals and their background. This geneates more questions, seemingly polite conversation. In turn, Kiwina asks what those here know about the creatures the Petals faced on the ship. Son Imod says, "My lady Queen Ma'ab what do you know of curses? I feel like I am drained of vitality and when Rolth cast a spell to restore it the drain was only temporarily relieved. I have recently started treating the Centaurs who were stuck in mirrors with herbs of a wasting illness they have been afflicted with but I do not think my condition is related." Mak (and others) thinks this might be an interesting place to acquire the clothing he sought on Bridge Island.
For Elyas - Highlight to display spoiler: {Feel free to read the Woldipedia info about Maab and about the Twilight Vales. He knows the fey can be tricky, and that one should always be careful about entering into any agreement or accepting gifts or favors from the fey.
As for the eel creatures, Elyas knows they are called Galvo. He recalls they are thought to be evil creatures, bred in the depths of the sea. They are composed of dozens of undulating electric eels tightly knotted into a slithering, humanoid shape. As such, they are immune to electricity, flanking and critical hits.}
Weymore nods acknowledgement to the Petals, but remains silent. Sense Motive DC 12:Highlight to display spoiler: { It’s clear that Weymore is a bit fidgety and uncomfortable here and his seemingly formal attire is not to his liking. He occasionally steals a glance at Ailleann.}
In response to Falco, Ailleann will say, "Weymore has a debt to repay my little owlman. However if you - or any of the Petals for that matter - wish to substitute yourselves for his service, I am willing to consider such a trade." She smiles but there is no warmth there.
Queen Maab replies to Rolth: "Ordinarily, life and death is the purview of Lord Gargul. However, the souls of the dead pass through the Twilight Vales on their way to either the Lands of Rest or Unrest. Because of this, Lord Gargul grants me a bit of leeway at times and I chose to exercise that here. But rest assured, he is quite aware you died. He may bring it up when you stand before him again one day."
In response to Kiwiana, one bespeckled Satyr replies, "Ahh, you speak of the galvo.
"Curious creatures really. They’re made of a writhing mass of electric eels, but they somehow have a low level of intelligence as kind of a hive mind. They can be difficult to harm as a result. Did you know, they can actually peel off an eel and fling it like a dart? Fascinating.
"They were bred in sunless ocean trenches of the Wold by fleshcrafters to serve as soldiers in wars against the sahuagin and skum. Since those days, galvos have moved beyond their darkened trenches, breeding and expanding into shallower, warmer waters. They are amphibious creatures, surprisingly able to survive out of water. They see in the dark, and are rumored to attack at night. They dislike sunlight, but it seems not to do any actual harm. Fire can damage them quite a bit though.
"They can survive on fish, but they seem to have an appetite for terror, taking great delight in the screams of those they consume as their eels tear at a victim’s body. A death of a thousand bites you might say."
The Satyr laughs at his own joke, and plies the Petals with questions about their experience with the galvo. The other fey quickly tire of this talk of the galvo and press the Petals with other questions as the feast goes on.
Queen Maab pauses for a moment before responding to Son Imod's query. She addresses Ailleann as she does so: "Feeling drained of vitality? We really should treat the Wold's heroes better that giving them cursed items, don't you think Ailleann?"
The regal redhead in the silver and azure dress smiles as she replies cooly, "My Queen, I was delighted to find a mortal so skilled and merely offered him a gift to aid him. A gift which he accepted. This has benefited us both as I have been able to enjoy and share in his successes. However, I will end this mutually beneficial relationship if you wish it. Pity, really."
She turns to Son Imod, "I will miss our little connection child. You may keep the crystal cup, but it will no longer benefit you in your crafting. Perhaps our paths will cross again one day."
The revelry and feasting continue. The Petals are popular and the focus of much attention. Later as the feast winds down, you are offered shelter and rest. As this is a “G Rated” game, suffice to say that no one will lack companionship if they so desire.
