Elyas tries his best to enjoy the time in this place, but he knows they will go back to a harsh reality very soon. He tries to find some time to prepare a few more spells as he only prepared an abbreviated list this morning. knowing that fire will be effective is good to know, and may be worth the risk if things look dire...
Queen Maab - (DM Mark) d8=6 ; Sunday January 2nd, 2022 8:50:05 PM
The evening and the meal continue for, well, for a lot longer than you would’ve thought.
Between the onlooking trees, the flitting faeries, and the raucous and conniving fey it seems like it should be exhausting. Between the ambrosial food and the nectar-like beverage, there’s something sustaining to the meal that seems to invigorate you all.
(Everyone benefits from a casting of Heroes’ Feast cast at 10th level. This means everyone gets 11 temporary hit points. Also, you all get a +1 morale bonus on attack rolls and Will saves and a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against poison and fear effects for 12 hours. Also, as noted before everyone was healed of all their injuries.)
Some fey begin to gracefully take their leave from the good Queen Maab. Maab once again addresses the Petals, [b]“Very soon my dears I will return you to your ship and the battle that awaits you there.
“I hope this time has rejuvenated you. And do not worry about the fey folk here. It is you Petals that are Heroes of the Wold. You affect the fate of the Wold more than any here. Trust your abilities and rely on your friends, for they are the real source of your strength.
“There is still a bit of help I will send you off with. Each of you is granted a hero point reflecting your valiant efforts before I brought you here. And take these tokens of my favor to call on in a time of need.”
In addition to everyone getting a hero point, she gives each of you a large acorn. (This acorn is a unique fate item. I can be used at any time and will have the same effect as using a hero point. It cannot be sold, but it can be given to another person for them to use. This acorn will not count as part of your hero points, and does not affect the maximum number of hero points you may have.)
You will have one round to prepare before Maab sends you back. You can do what you like in that time. In addition, you may fill any unused spell slots - Maab is able to allow that as well.
Rolth Niheow (BatMark) (81+11 temp/81HP | AC: 20; Touch: 14; CMD: 25) | Sunday January 2nd, 2022 9:18:05 PM "Thank you for your hospitality, generosity, and advice, Queen Maab. (Inspire Courage +1 competence bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls to all party members)
When once upon the Rose did set, Slithery demons up from the depths, Striking down our heroes, Even unto their deaths.

(I think G3 is behind something on the ship) The croc tries to attack the creature but misses. "It's ok, Croc. It happens," Wil shouts through gritted teeth. He searches for the lantern archon, he summoned prior to being pulled away and finds it floating behind him. Wil asks the archon to hover over G5 and G2, causing them to be affected by her natural charm (or Aura of Menace) She fires two light rays at G5 but misses.
Wil searches for boxes around 50 pounds that he can have the archon drop over the creatures to damage them. Wil moves behind Son Imod and casts Resist Energy for him. "Too bad we couldn't teleport some of the team to the other side of the boat," he says.

Mak arrives in the crows nest and lands two arrows on G2. (Since your post was in two parts, due to confusion as to whether or not you could act right away, I allowed the first post to be the place marker.)
Elyas casts stinking cloud on the galvos. 1, 2, and 4 made their saves and avoid the nausea, but 3, 5, and 6 are nauseated. I would describe the scene, but I'm not sure what a mass of nauseated eels would look like. :)
Kiwina makes ready to attack with his Glaive.
Son Imod gets ready to get down with his Kama
Rolth makes a full round attack on G2, but only manages to land the first hit, with his glaive, as he continues his song.
Tsak would like to attack, but is stuck behind his larger friends. (FYI, the rules say you can pass through a friends square while moving, as long as you finish your move in an unoccupied square. Of course that would put you in Elyas's stinking cloud.)
Wilford has his croc attack, but it misses. The croc will have to make the DC 21 fort save, since it is in Elyas's cloud. hopefully we don't have a seasick crocodile. Since the Archon is above the cloud, it won't have to make a save, but it will have to deal with the 20% miss chance. The Archon misses with both light attacks, and the 2 affected galvos overcome its aura.
G2 attacks the only enemy they can see, Son Imod. G2 misses it's bite attack, but lands both it's slams, for a total of 14 damage, plus 15 electricity.
G1 moves forward and attempts to bite Kiwina, landing a hit for 6 damage plus 8 electricity
G4 makes a full round attack on the croc, hitting AC 21 for 7 damage plus 11 electical, 26 for 8 plus 6 electrical damage plus, and 21 for 6 damage plus 8 electrical.
Even though they are nauseated, G5, G3, and G6 all retreat out of the stinking cloud. G5 will trigger an AoO from Son Imod.

Elyas begins a summons spell, as his Black Tentacles flail about. the Tentacles fail to overcome the Galvo's CDB.
Son Imod attempts a Flurry of Blows, but only the first one hits, thanks to Wil's True Strike. He lands 11 damage on G2
With the Crocodile gone, G4 moves towards the sound of combat, and discovers Kiwina. it attempts to bite, and just barely manages to land the hit. The bite inflicts 7 damage plus 11 electrical. G4 overcomes the nausea

Falco hooks his friends up with some healing.
Wil summons a second Lantern Archon, and asks it, as well as, the first one to start dropping things on the galvos. The first archon misses with its light rays. A quick look around the deck, at least that which isn't shrouded by the Stinking Cloud, doesn't reveal anything 50lbs or under that the Archons can use for bombarding. Well, nothing with any damage producing ability anyway. (Since Lantern Archons have a strength of 1, they would have to use their greater teleport ability, with a max carrying weight of 50lbs. I gave a 50% chance of finding things on deck, and rolled a 20)
Elyas summons a fire elemental, which attacks G4. However, the ELemntal barely misses the AC 23 galvo. The black tentacles continue to flail about harmlessly, as Elyas casts fly on himself. (FYI because the fire elemental is in the stinking cloud, it will have to make a fort save to avoid being nauseated.)
Rolth keeps singing, but asks Wil if Wardd hates him as he seems to have no luck in landing blows.
Mak switches targets to G2, and manages to stick some arrows into the writhing mass of eels.
Kiwina goes full round attack on G4 landing 2 blows.
Son Imod goes for another flurry of blows, landing one hit on G2.
Tsak asks how much longer the stinking cloud will last. as he offers up some more electricity resistance.
G2 attempts another full round attack on Son Imod, landing both slams, ans well as it's bite. Son Imod takes 15 damage plus 13 electrical.
G4 decides to continue attacking Kiwina, with a full round attack. Both Slams, as well as the bite hit home for 22 damage, plus 23 electrical.

Wil and his Archon's seem to not be having any luck. Is the follower of Wardd out of favor with his deity, or is the un-named god of the dice roller just being a butt?
Elyas fires a scorching ray at G2, and the writhing mass of eels falls to the deck of the rose, nothing but a pile of dead eels. (Thanks for the reminder on the Stinking Cloud saves. I forgot to roll yesterday, so I rolled twice for both the galvos in the cloud still. sadly they made all their saves.)
Mak, from his birds eye view, in the crow's nest spots the galvos taking to the water, and warns his friends. He unloads on G4.
Rolth goes all hacky/slashy on G4.

Kiwina seems to be plagued by the god of the dice roller.
Son Imod is also plagued by the dice roller god. Perhaps if we gave him a name, that would appease him.

G6 and G3 are still unaccounted for, but G5 shoots out of the water, landing on the deck right next to Wil. The galvo proceeds to try to bite the cleric, hitting for 6 damage, and 8 electrical.

Falco fires an arrow at G5 and manages to hit with two out of three arrows, however, one arrow seems to harmlessly pass throught he writhing mass of eels, and the other barely grazes the mass as it passes though (DR)
Wil cast touch of idiocy on G5, though it doesn't seem to affect the creature. He is sure that the spell hit home, but realizes that since all it's abilities are physical, the lowered mental functions, probably won't be of much benefit, at least not yet. His archons hit 3 out of 4 of their light rays, as he misses with his spiritual weapon.
Elyas lands two scorching rays on G5 as his fire elemental is overcome by G4 and returns to wherever it was summoned from.
Rolth leaves a pile of dead eels on the deck of the rose, as he finishes of G4.
Mak turns his attention to G5, and skewers several of the eels withing the writhing mass.
Kiwina goes to attack G4, but finds nothing but a pile of dead eels.
Tsak finally get his chance to engage the enemy, and he wastes no time putting his weapon to good use.
G4 makes his save against the stinking cloud, just in time to be cut down.
G5 makes a full round attack against Tsak, hitting all three blows for 22 total damage
G3 shoots out of the water, and lands on the right side of the ship, right next to Rolth. It bites the liontaur for 6 damage.

Wil jumped up and down and screamed like a crazy man. "That was awesome!" "You did so well team." He attempted to shake the hands of the archons but each one growled at him and avoided any contact. "You know, I'm not unfriendly." He said hurt. "I'm just a little crazy. You could be nicer." "Anyways, I will move on like the adult I am." Wil approaches Ramsey to help properly address the dead. "I know," he says suddenly. "What if we use the archon to help clean this up. What do you say? or maybe help with the funerals?" Wil seems to of forgotten the hurt and returns to the normal crazy of usual.

Mak leaned back in the crows nest and methodically pulled arrows from his pack to replenish those from his quiver. He'd not fired at the fleeing creature since it seemed minimally injured and even had he hit it his efforts would have been minimal as well. Best to save his arrows on attacking beasts, not ones running away.

Falco is relieved that all the enemies have been taken out. Disappointed that one got away but he was in no mood to chase after it. Something just didn't feel right but he couldn't pin down the source. He just felt a little twinge of someone important wasn't feeling ok. "It couldn't be anyone he knew", he thought? "Or someone that knew him?."

Rolth lets out a whoosh of breath as the last of the galvo flees, and stops his raging song. He grins tiredly at his fellow Petals, before looking sorrowfully at the remains of the dead crew. He kneels down before the fallen, and says a prayer to Domi before rising to proclaim, "Let us always remember these fallen comrades, who took up arms against terrible beasts to defend their fellow crew and the Rose! Truly, they will sit at the right hand of Domi the Defender, and bask in his glory in the afterlife!" Turning to the Petals, he thanks Falco for his healing and Elyas for the timely fires of arcane retribution. Mak for his outstanding marksmanship, and Son Imod and Tsak for their flashing blades. Wil and Cicero brought celestial friends to the fight, along with weapons of divine spirit. And as always brave Captain Kiwina and his aumakua brought a variety of timely skills to the fight. "We are the Eight Petaled Rose, hear our roar!!!" he shouts across the ocean.
"Should we split the party more evenly as we proceed to Centaur Isle? I doubt this is the last obstacle that our foes will put in our path. I am loath to lose either the Rose or our newfound centaur allies, after all."

Elyas dismisses his black tentacles and looks around. He asks Ramsey who they lost. Ramsey looks around with a look of concentration on his face, than answers, "It looks like we lost 4 crew members. It's weird, but they were all new hires. Their names were Stan half-elven, along with his brother Fred, a human named Karl, and another human named Joe. this is tragic, to say the least, but without you Petals, things would have been much worse."
Wil congratulates his archons, as well as his teammates. He considers putting his archons to work cleaning the deck, a task they are willing to do, however, as soon as they begin, it becomes clear that they are ill equipped to the task at hand, and Wil realizes that a broom, in the hands of someone with a little more strength, would be more efficient.
Mak replenishes is arrow supply, and as he decides to let the fleeing Galvo go unmolested.
Falco is relieved that the fight is over, but a bit disappointed that one of the galvos escaped. he has a nagging feeling that someone important isn't feeling well.
Rolth honors the fallen crew members, and praises the skills and contributions of his comrades. He asks whether they should more evenly split their numbers among the 2 ships, so as to hopefully avoid any more loss of life.
Kiwina tends to the wounds of any injured crew members, than suggests they clear the deck of the filth. He adds the prayers of his homeland to honor the fallen. And suggests burial at sea.
Tsak considers making a meal out of some of the roasted eels, but decides against it. He wants the deck cleared of this bad memory, so he pitches in to help clean the deck.
With the support of the Petals, Ramsey starts barking orders to clear the deck of the eels. With shovels and brooms, the crew members as well as any petals who wish to pitch get to work. in the meanwhile, the centaurs board the petal and offer both their condolences, as well as, their aid in cleaning the Rose. You see Pholus hand Ramsey a small sack, and hear him say, "Please distribute this among the families of the fallen". Ramsey nods and you hear him say, "It will be done, thank you for your consideration!"
With the Rose cleared of the dead eels, and the blood washed from the decking, Ramsey nods his head, towards a crewman, and the bodies, of the fallen, are brought forth. They have been wrapped in sail cloth, as is common for nautical burials, and placed on planks. Four men carry a plank to the side of the ship, and when the victim's name is called, a bell is rang, in their honor, and a bosun's whistle is blown, singling the carriers to dump the body into the sea. After all the fallen have been interned, Ramsey says a few words, and then offers others a chance to honor the departed.

Elyas spends some time studying a section of the deck very intently, and marks it off with some rope. If i need to bring us back to this ship, it will be inside this circle. please keep it clear!

Mak limped to the rail and looked out over the water after the crewmen undergo their burial at sea. He's not happy since he knows they'd all have been slain had it not been for some timely divine intervention. So though he just recently started to believe in the powers of the divine through Pantheon he is still coming to grips with the other powers in the heavens He can't help but be a little frustrated that they needed that aid to survive. Yes, a second chance was fortuitous but that meant their tactics had been flawed and they had been taken unaware.
"I'll not remove my armor at night any longer," Mak said quietly to his friend Tsak. "Rolth's encouraging words aside, those four men paid for our negligence."
Upon seeing Pholus offer gold to the dead men's families Mak thought too he should do something as well, but didn't want his own contribution to be so public. After the ship was back on course and everything had quieted Mak approached Ramsey and handed him 400gp for the men's families. "I wish I could do more." he admitted to the shipmaster as he turned to leave.

When the time comes, he says a few more words in honor of the fallen Stan, Fred, Karl, and Joe, entrusting their departed spirits to Domi's guidance. Rolth also thanks Pholus for his generosity.
Once the memorial is over, Rolth calls for a strategy session. "I see no reason to change our destination. We still have to see Pholus and his companions safely to Centaur Isle. From there, perhaps we can continue our work of reuniting taurkind, allowing them to rejoin the ranks of the noble races. And sort out these mysterious mirrors. We seem to be making some progress in our quest, and I would see it through! In the meantime, how should we split our forces? I see that Elyas is preparing the way to be able to bring reinforcements from the Fury to the Rose. I'd be fine moving over to the Fury with him. We could probably use a priest over there, and maybe one more warrior-type. What are your thoughts?"

Not knowing the fallen, Elyas doesn't have anything to say, so he honors them in his silence. He than prepares a landing place for teleportation.
Wil channels, and than helps out where ever he can during the funeral. After the funeral He honors his god by joining a game of bones with some crew members.
Falco also channels energy, as he ponders the idea of installing some sort of protective barrier on rhe sides of the Rose.
Mak realizes that the reason they won was due to Maab's timely intervention, and that bothers him, because he knows that their strategy is flawed. He tells Tsak that he is never taking his armor off at night again, and makes it clear that he feels the reason the four men are dead is because of their negligence. Seeing Pholus offer something for the families of the fallen, Mak hands Ramsey his own contribution, wishing he could do more. Ramsey pats the human on the shoulder and says, "You Petals do so much, everyone who joins this crew knows they are in service of an adventuring party, and we are proud to do our part. We know the risk, and are prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice. If the Rose was just an ordinary ship, carrying ordinary cargo, we would have all been killed, but this is the Rose, we ferry the 8 Petal Rose adventuring group, and we consider it an honor to do so!"
Rolth says a few words to honor the fallen, and than thanks Pholus for his generosity. The aged centaur simply replies, "It is the least I could do to honor those who fell trying to get us home." Rolth offers some suggestions for group placement among the two ships, and than asks for the others thoughts.
Tsak honors the fallen with silence. He than suggests to Mak that his aim with his arrows is far more beneficial than him being in the fray, and that armor isn't a necessity for his survival, under those circumstances. The ranger wants to purchase a magic sword, and he knows it won't be cheap, but he offers some funds to add to the sack for the fallen's families.
Kiwina reminisces a bit on the history of his party, and than later, he talks with Ramsey. He can tell the brambletaur is a bit distraught, most likely due to the loss of his new crewman, but overall he seems to be in relatively good humor. He makes it clear that they still have a job to finish, and that they will see it done.
Son Imod shares Kiwina's sentiment about seeing the job done, but somehow missed his DC 0 perception check, as he wonders if the centaurs are still in the row boat, and asks if they should guide them back to the Pounding Fury.
Pholus, leaning heavily on Barbale, clears his throat, and says, "With the loss of these 4 good men, I can tell that you are going to be short staffed aboard the Rose, and the Pounding Fury is already short manned, may I suggest that we send a few men back to the Fury and prepare her to be towed. If her rudder is tied, and sails stowed, the Rose should have no problem towing her, as if she was a derelict. This way the crewman from both ships can work together, aboard the Rose, making the rest of the trip far less stressful on them, and defending the ships less stressful a task for you Petals. This of course is just a suggestion. What say you?"
Matt covering for Falco (Ryan) Friday January 14th, 2022 12:43:21 PM

Mak suggested that they come alongside periodically during the tow to place sentries aboard the Pounding Fury. Perhaps even light torches on her deck so that he in the crows nest could rain arrows down on anyone on deck. He also suggested they use the anchor lines from each ship to set up the tow and to attach them to the mooring brackets at the stern of the Rose. They would want the lines to rest just above the waterline to act as a shock absorber and if the weather got bad be prepared to cut it loose or they'd damage the Rose.

there are enough seasoned sailors on board to help with the attaching of the ships, so Elyas focuses on helping move the mirrors. he can teleport twice with his current spells, which should be enough to bring over all of the mirrors with the assistance of some allies to hold the mirrors while he transports them back to his outlined section of deck.

Falco likes the idea of towing the Pounding Fury, but worries whether or not the weather will be conducive for such an endeavor.
Wil wonders how far from their destination they are, and also wonders about the weather. Highlight to display spoiler: {You have access to your purchase now}
Elyas likes the idea of towing the Pounding Fury, and begins to come up with the logistics involved. He determines that they will want at least 100ft of distance between the two ships for safety, as well as a means to drop the anchor on the Pounding Fury to slow it down. with the rudder tied, it should follow where ever it is towed.
Kiwina determines that they should be having smooth sailing for the next day or so. He comes up with the same conclusions Elyas did on the logistics, but his biggest concern is for the Noble Centaurs, and their cargo.
Mak offers some suggestions regarding protecting the Pounding Fury, and also makes suggestions as to how to tie the tow ropes.
Rolth is also onboard with the merging and towing, though he feels that the mirrors should be transported to the Rose for safe keeping. He jumps in, helping rig the tow lines.
Tsak also likes the idea, and asks permission to head to the Pounding Fury to retrieve his belongings, as well as Esmeralda. He pitches in, helping make the rigging secure, and than helps with the transport of the mirrors.
Son Imod offers to help move the mirrors.
Elyas with the assistance of Son Imod, and Tsak, teleports the mirrors to a safe spot on the Rose.
It takes a few hours, but the two ships are linked by enough rope to keep as safe 100ft distance between them. The mirrors are safely stowed in the haul of the Rose, and things are under way. The captain of the Pounding Fury volunteers to stay onboard his ship to drop anchor when needed, as well as be available to make any evasive maneuvers if needs must. He mentions that he has a helm of teleportation, and if things get dicey, he will teleport to the Rose for safety.
With the logistics settled, the ships weight anchor, and continue the trip home, a trip which Ramsey estimates will be another two days. During the remains of the trip it is clear that though Barbale and Timapius are recovering from their ordeal, Pholus, if anything is getting worse. However, the noble centaur refuses any special treatment. It turns out the seasoned skipper's estimate was dead on, and the two ships approach the harbor at dusk.
Do our intrepid Heroes wish to wait tell morning, or do they wish to begin the task of releasing the Pounding Fury, and bring both ships into their moorings, in the dark?

Falco tries to treat Pholus, but the old centaur refuses treatment. He refuses to join Wil in his foolish game, and rushes to the side of the ship, when the crazy man falls, relieved to find him treading water, with no signs of injury.
Rolth will allow the captains to decide what is best, but points out that they are more vulnerable out in the harbor, than on Terra Firma. If they choose to go for a night mooring, he will offer Magical assistance.
Mak joins Wil in the ocean, as he two fails to make the tight rope walk. He manages to turn his fall into a dive, and he slices through the water unscathed.
Kiwina would rather wait until morning, but will defer to the captain of the Pounding Fury, as this is his home port. He wonders if it would be possible to get the 3 noble centaurs to shore, and into the hands of a healer, possibly via magical means.
Tsak prefers to move the centaur nobles to safety than wait til morning to moor the ships, though he realizes his darkvision would be a great asset, if they choose to harbor the ships now.
Son Imod continues to try his herbal treatments, and they seem to be working well for Barbale, and Timapius, but alas, Pholus has decided to refuse treatment. The herbalist realizes the herbs weren't having any effect on the aged centaur anyway. He wonders if they can get Pholus to Queen Ma'ab somehow.

Of course you don't know for sure, you are only speculating.}
Ramsey and the capain of the Pounding Fury both agree that bringing the ships into harbor would be best done during the day. The Pounding Fury's captain even suggests that the Harbor Master is probably at the local tavern, and won't be available to see them safely moored anyway. He agrees that getting the three nobles to shore would be wise, and if no one is able to teleport them there, he offers to row them there himself. Either way, both he and Ramsey bark some orders, and the crews get to work dropping anchor on both ships, and removing the rigging connecting the two ships. The crew of the Pounding Fury will return to their ship in the morning, to sail her into port.
Just because the ships are staying out in deep water for the night, doesn't mean that the Petals have to, What do out intrepid heroes wish to do now, and where do they plan on spending the night?

Rolth holds off on casting his spells since the ships are not going into port. He laughs as helps the bedraggled Wil and Mak back on board. When talk turns to using other means to send the centaurs ashore, he reminds all involved that things on the isle were quite unsettled when we left, and much time has passed. It may not be that we and Pholus' party will be welcomed, if there are new political arrangements on the isle. Perhaps it is best to wait on the morning and see what the situation is in the light of day. Rolth will take his turn on watch, quietly prowling the deck of the Rose while watching for threats.

Elyas is happy to spend the night aboard the Rose. Since he has no safe point of reference, he is unable to teleport Pholus, Barbale, and Timapius to shore, and suggests they wait till morning or send for a healer to come aboard the Rose.
Mak recommends using the row boat. He is not keen on leaving the ships unguarded over night.
Falco offers to help get the centaurs to shore, and than pitches in back at the Rose.
Wil finds great pleasure in his encounter with the tight rope, and suggests he need to do that more often, even though he failed. He says he will stay on board the Rose to dry off and spend some time in prayer, and spell prep.
Kiwina asks the spirits to give them warning, should something decides to go bump in the night. he reminds everyone of the folding boat and suggest using that to get the centaurs to shore.
Rolth suggests that, due to the rocky political nature, on Centaur Island, it may be best to wait until morning to make any move.
Tsak spends thee night on the Pounding Fury, so as to help out, the short staffed crew. He wants to look for a magical sword and asks Mak for assistance in finding one.
Son Ismod tries, and fails to assist Falco.
Mak lets Tsak know that he will find his magic sword at the Catacombs. Barbale over hears this conversation, and says, "I don't mean to stick my hooves where they are not welcome, but there is a Catacombs entrance on the island. I would be glad to give you directions. To be honest, Mak is correct, that is the only place you will find any magical item, for sale, at least here on Centaur Island."
************************************
As discussion on what to do with the centaur's continues, Pholus stands up and matter-of-factly says, "Thanks for your concern, but we will stay on the Rose tonight." You have learned from your time with the old Centaur, when he uses such a tone, that he will brook no refusals.
The night passes without incident, and in the morning, the two ships are brought safely to their moorings. A small crowd has gathered at the sight of the Pounding Fury returning to port, and there is much tension in the air, as the occupants begin to disembark. There is great joy for some, to see the three centaurs who have returned, and great sorrow from others, as the rest of the party that sent out with Pholus is obviously lost. Pelonius and everyone else present are shocked to see the weakened state of their leader, and there is much sadness at the loss of Agarime, Brygape, and Sebochus. As everyone looks to Pholus for an explanation, The old centaur stands before everyone, leaning heavily on Timaius and gives a speech. "Good people of Centaur Island, today is a day for change. We have been fools and have allowed our foolish pride to lead us, and that needs to end. Barbale, Timaius and myself have learned this, in our journey, and Agarime, Brygape, and Sebochus, paid the ultimate price as we discovered our folly. We centaurs need to embrace our fellow taurs and seek to once again act as one people. I fear I am not the one to make this change, and you need to elect a new leader, one who can help usher in this new change. I feel it is time for a new type of leader, a mare. It has always been legal, but tradition has never allowed a female to lead the corral, and I say it is time to do away with such foolish traditions. I have two suggestions, though the choice is yours, I suggest that you either elect Barbale, who went through the same trials as myself, and learned the same lessons , or my daughter Pelonius, who, though young, is wise beyond her years, and has been trying, for years, to get me to see a change was needed."
Pholus then walks away, towards his home, with the aid of Pelonius, who rushed in to take Timaius's place as her father's crutch. The Petals are invited to join them at Pholus's home for a bite to eat, and Pholus suggests he wishes to award them for their bravery and service.
What do our intrepid heroes wish to do?

"You taurs always have the best dinners," he says with a smile but that smile quickly turns when he begins to hear the whispers again. Wil ignores the voices and pretends, as well as he can, they are not there. "So this hand over of power," he begins through grit teeth. "How does that work? Do you expect any opposition? Elyas listens in on a few conversations. most of them follow the same line as this, "He asks a lot, and it will be tough, but I feel he is right. He does overhear a few conversations of people who flat out think Pholus is a fool, but those seem to be in a strong minority.
Wil tries to get a feel for the crowd. He estimates that most people are onboard with what Pholus has said, but he does sense a small percentage of dissatisfaction. He, and his voices follow Pholus and Pelonius to the aged centaurs home, and is treated with hospitality, being offered a drink and a snack, as they wait for the meal to be prepared, and the rest of the petals to arrive.
Falco stands with Elyas, trying to get a feel for the conversations, and overhears the same conversations.
Mak has Elmer transferred from the rose to the local stables, and he makes sure to deal with all the logistics involved. He arranges to meet the other, at Pholus's home, and asks Tsak to join him for a trip to the Catacombs. (Feel free to head over to the catacombs board and make your purchase. all magical Items are required to be bought and sold there. Only mundane Items can be purchased on the game boards."
Kiwina understands that this transition will be difficult, but he has faith that it will work out. He decides to ask his grandma he thoughts of a matriarch in his dreams tonight. He decides to get cleaned up before heading to Pholus's house.
Rolth gives his full support of Pholus's speech, even vocalizing his agreement. He gets much the same feel for the crowd as the rest of the petals, though his Mark of Domi does seem to get some attention, and he receives several nods of respect as he passes through the crowd. He goes with the other Petals at the appointed time, to Pholus's house.
Son Imod gathers some Lifewood, than goes to Pholus's place.
Tsak isn't big on the politics, but does note that this is a step in the right direction. He tells Mak that he won't be able to join him at the Catacombs at this time, since he feels staying with the group and getting the vibe of the crowd is more important.
OOC...Since the majority of you have mentioned heading to Pholus's house, after whatever task was accomplished, I will assume everyone is on board with that, and move ahead. There is plenty of time to do whatever you want before the meal, even placing an order at the Catacombs.
When everyone else arrives at the appointed time, the Petals are ushered to a lovely dining table filled with all sorts of yummy dishes. Hollyhocks is attending to Pholus, while Pelonius sits next to her father. Barebale and Timapius are the only other guests, apparently, Pholus wants this to be a private affair.`
After the meal Hollyhocks makes an announcement. She says, "It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you all that Pholus is dyeing. He has lived a good life, and is coming to the natural end of it, Pholus asked that I reveal this to none but those present in this room, though, I fear, he only has a handful of days left."
Before she can say anything else Pholus cuts her off, "Tut, tut, Hollyhocks, this is supposed to be a joyous gathering, everyone, and everything dies eventually, let's not dwell on that now, and instead lets try to remain hopeful. Hopeful that the sacrifices that were made, were not made in vain, hopeful that the lessons learned will be put into practice, and hopeful for better times ahead. No we are here to honor the Eight Petaled Rose, and honor them we shall.
With that, Pelonius opens a small chest. inside are 8 carved pieces of jade, carved beautifully into the image of a leaf. She hands one to each of the Petals and says, "These my friends are luckstones, please take them with our thanks!" She than sets down the empty box and picks up a larger one. she opens it and inside it is filled with gold, platinum, and gems valued at 20,000 gp. She sets the chest down before the Petals and say, "Thank you for you service, please take this as a token of appreciation."

There is much you want to do with so little time left. how can we help you with your transition of power in the time you have left? it is one of our goals to help bridge the divides between races, and ensuring that the ones who follow you will learn from your own experiences is a big deal.

Wil then asks kindly if someone can repeat the news. "I'm sorry, that is not good news. Can I help prepare some of your end-of-life care? A prepared death is an honor to Gargul, but to die a warrior is a higher honor..." He stopped abruptly and quietly argued with himself. "Seriously, I apologize again. I have a guest that is rude." Falco does his best to help out at Pholus's home, and is polite when Hollyhocks arrives. He is saddened by Hollyhock's announcement, and bummed he was unable to help him from getting sick on the way home. He is thankful for the gift, and asks Pholus if there is anything they should take away from his long life, something they could share, The old taur smiles and says, "I've lived many years, and though some were bad the majority were grand. If you can learn anything, or wish to share anything, then remember and share what I have learned here at the end of my life. If only I had learned this lesson sooner."
Cicero has some unsettling ideas about death, and is shushed by Wil. Wil apologizes for Cicero's ideas, and reminds everyone he has company inside his head.
Kiwina is saddened but not surprised by the announcement. He shares the same feels his friends have already expressed.
Rolth is overwhelmed by the generosity of the gifts, and suggests they are thrice blessed by 3 gods. He's saddened by the announcement, and asks for guidance for there quest. Pholus answers, "I'm only one being, and I have no right to tell you Petals what to do, but I feel if you keep moving forward, as you have been doing, playing the hero, and earning the respect of all taurs, than you will be in a position to help make a change."
Tsak heads to the catacombs, than heads to Pholus's house to join the others. He feels that this should be a celebration of a life well lived, and not a time for mourning. Tsak is pleased with his gift, and is excited to put his share of the wealth to good use.
Son Imod isn't sure how to take the bad news. He asks if perhaps the wasting disease is partially to blame, and asks if there may be a way to go before Queen Ma'ab to ask for healing. Pholus answers, "Noble Minotaur, I appreciate your words, and your desire to seek my healing. While it may, or may not be true that the wasting may have accelerated my condition, but I am an old taur. I have out lived many a centaur, and I have lived a blessed life. I am ready to join Domi, and my ancestors. I look forward to being reunited with my wife, Pelonuis's mother, and look forward to my eternal rest. It is my time, and I have no regrets.
Due to the weakened state of her father, Pelonius asks to adjourn this gathering. She asks the Petals to stay at Centaur Island for a while, and offers The Petals the Guest house in Pholus's backyard.

Elyas agrees with Pelonius that anything further can be dealt with after her father is rested. he asks her if she needs anything else from the Petals for now.
if not, Elyas will help make sure that the mirrors are offloaded from the Rose safely. where will those be kept now?
Kiwina (Steve M) 94/94 HP | AC:20 (normal) or 21 (using 2 weapons) +4 vs AoO | HeP: 7 | Status: none Friday January 21st, 2022 5:35:08 PM
Kiwina is polite and complies with Pelonius's request to leave without fuss, and even accepts the use of the guest house for the night to be polite. (His connection to the spirits are stronger when he is on the water, and on later nights he will return to the Rose.)
With the other Petals, though, he worries that staying long may land them at a state funeral. He also wonders how the centaurs will answer the offer from the liontaurs in a time such as this.
Wilford Grimly (HP:53/53- AC: 19; Touch: 12; Flat: 16; CMD: 21) Friday January 21st, 2022 6:31:11 PM
Wil steps away, smiles a bit. He finishes his conversation away from the crowd and curious onlookers. “Ok… ok… we need a vial of holy water, 25gp of silver dust and more groceries. To be finished later.”
Rolth Niheow (BatMark) (87/87HP | AC: 20; Touch: 14; CMD: 26) | Friday January 21st, 2022 9:39:41 PM
Rolth accepts Pholus' advice, as well as the offer to stay at the guest house. He invites Hollyhocks to join the group for continued conversation, if willing. If said worthy is willing, Rolth will ask for any insights into the nature of the mirrors, as well as whether there is anyone hereabouts who can offer WLA training.
Tsak Rezar (Damien) AC17 (T15/F12) 92/86 HP| Falchion +4 2D4+3|Crossbow +1 1D8+1|Status: Electrically Resistant! Friday January 21st, 2022 10:52:31 PM
Tsak quietly joins the others as a guest and spends a few hours in contemplation of the stars.
He also studies his spells, goes for a long walk with Esmerelda (and anyone else who may be interested) and then gives his cat a thorough brush that leaves her fur knot-free and gleaming.
