The invisible attack catches the guard and the spell is successful Des pours rightous power into his attacks against the Rakshasa and attacks. He connects once, know some of the power behind his strike is aborbed by some magic and a grunt of pain from Hmerrin tells where other magic maybe at work. Hmerrin Dmg 15 Hmerrin decides Des doesn't need to know and as righteous power fuels him, he attacks landing a blow. Hmerrin also knows a portion of the strike was absorbed by some magic and he fells his wounds as well. Hmerrin Dmg 19 Gaffer instructs the elementals to continue and they do so. Fire is quenched in hissing steam as they move. What the elementals cannot help with is the rafters and walkway. Gaffer shocks the charmed patron and the man goes limp.

The Backroom server moves forward and hits the invisible wall. Gaffer is running low on spells that are safe to use indoors, and it doesn't look like any of the uncharmed patrons are going to make a break for the door. He looks up to the rafters and figures those flames will have to be ok, they shouldn't effect the patrons at least.
Thinking it is at least worth trying, he attempts to meld one corner of the building into a hole large enough for a person to move through, straining against the size of the building itself.

Regardless, she recognises the Suggestion spell that the backroom server has cast. The Wall of Force has kinda made things difficult for her to get a clean shot so Nira invisibly flies around it to get line of sight at the rakshasa.

Des calls the Roulette Dealers bluff, a scowl crosses the Rakshasa's face. Des gashes him deeply in the shoulder and wasthat a flicker of panic on his face? Hmerrin Dmg 15 Hmerrin wasn't backing down now or ever against this monster and presses his own attack, landing a solid blow and feeling the pain of it. Hmerrin Dmg 20 Gaffer notes the fire acrosss the ceiling, there was little to do and the druid hopes the structure holds, bt in case it doesn't. He casts Warp Wood at the corner and is able to create a hole in the wall. The fresh air rushes in and teh patrons by the hole stir to look out and begin to move. Danko casts Web Nira DM apologies can still see the Guard. Nira Highlight to display spoiler: {He cast invisible and is at location N6} Ramirez can no longer see the guard and picks another target, the cashier. Throught the hole in the back wall, several patrons escape. The Water elementals extinguish the last of the flames on the floor area. The upper walkway has given way and parts have collapsed about the room, and none were harmed by the debris. But, he refuses to fall.
Glaring hatefully at the raka, he steps back, dropping his halberd. With an effort he reaches to his magical haversack, and a potion appears in his hand. The strain on his face is evident, but he keeps his eyes locked on the raka. With a grunt, he pops the stopper, and drains the vial.
"I was gonna say that," he coughs back at the creature.

Ramirez circles to his left and firs a shot acorss the room, striking the Cashier. Gaffer tries to encourage the other patrons in the far corner to make a break for the hole in the wall. They look at each other and at the hole hesitating. A beam cracks and jogs them into motion, though with some caution. The Roulette Dealer is dying and it looks as if he knows it. His eyes flick about the room, as if taking things in a final time before they settle back upon the foes at hand. Nira's invisibility spell ends and she becomes visible for all to see. Fortunately most of the enemy are down (or soon will be). She doesn't want to risk anything though, so turns herself invisible again.
She decides to try a different approach to protect Hmerrin. Nira casts Spell Immunity on Hmerrin to try and protect him a little.

Gaffer bears the follow up attacks for the time being. The civilians are almost out... but then he looks at the unconscious man on the floor behind him, probably should avoids spells hitting him he thinks to himself.
Hoping he has space, he wonders if he can get around their resistances as an untried creature. He drops to all fours as three horns sprout from his forehead and his entire body rapidly gains a leathery hide. A Triceratops appears in the gambling arena!

Nira becomes visible for a few seconds, before casting invisibility again upon herself and alos Spell Immunity on Hmerrin, protecting him from those Scorching Rays and Magic Missiles, and throwing in Enervation as well Hmerrin attacks with his pair of axes, an amazing display of strikes and counters. Only to be thwarted by the magical protections and reflexes of his foe. His last cut, the Roulette dealer shifts and slips past, but he did not see the under backhand of the battle ax and as his eyes widen, the Roulette Dealer's head leaves his shoulders. Hmerrin Dmg 8 Ramirez begins a new ballad and fires another volley at the Cashier. The first hits him in the lower chest, the second strikes just above the collar bone in the throat. With a gurgle, he falls dead. Gaffer shifts into a dinosaur! Filling, over filling the fron section of the Nymph Gaffer is Squeezed... –4 penalty on attack rolls and a –4 penalty to AC Des uses his Paladin blessings, to heal Hmerrin Danko sees the Cashier fall, leaving just the back room server. He opens his mouth and a bolt of Lightning issues forth and slams into him. The bolt catches ihim in the chest and bounces him off of the wall. He hist the floor, unmoving and smoking
The fire continues in the ceiling and rafters. There is but one opponent still moving, and that patron is trying to futiley grapple a Triceratops The other patrons were already on their way out and now escape through the hole in the wall created by Gaffer
Desdichado looks around at the destruction of the building, at the many patrons lying dead all around, and at all of the damage the group has taken, and begins to feel sick.
Steeling himself, he thinks back to Ja'Jalla's words about destruction following them and reflects about how right he was.
"Gather around, everyone, and I'll try to patch us up a bit," he wearily calls out to the team. Afterwards, he looks around to see if there's anything that might help them as relates to the High Priest's words.

Nira does a quick lap of the room to look for any survivors. She doubts there are any but she has to try. This building is going to come down and she doesn't want anyone left behind. If she is unable to find anyone alive she'll try to start dragging bodies outside. She keeps her eyes open for Tanner, Oakleaf and Baker.
Things went really bad here. To the town guard it will look like the party entered a gambling house, killed a bunch of civilians and burnt the building to the ground. They're going to have to do a lot of explaining.

"Gaffer, lose your dancing partner and see if you can get these elementals to keep things watered down."
"Dez, we need to get into the back rooms and see if we can find the point of all this. They weren't just stealing money from the locals."
Hmerrin heads for the hallway that guard was covering, and commences to poking about.

Ramirez helps Nira and Gaffer usher any remaining civilians outside. He also drags out the bodies of some of the rakshasa. That would help explain things to the guards. He hopes they find some evidence in one of the rooms, before the roof caves in. At least the elementals should be able to keep the fire from spreading beyond the gambling house.

There are no patrons or server in the main room, they all went through the hole or front door. Save the man who was under a Suggestion spell to hamper Gaffer. Now apparently free of it, he bolts out the door. The water elementals stand about and soak down most of the main room.
The group quickly gathers about Des and the paladin heals everyone 31 HP Gaffer's Reverse Gravity is keeping the debris against the ceiling as it burns. Know Engineering DC 20 Highlight to display spoiler: {The walkway was the main source of the fire at the ceiling, the supporting timbers seem to be holding well and might well outlast the fire, not that the fuel sources are nearly depleted.} The fight was quick, but with patrons running into the streets, the Watch is likely only 5 or 10 minutes from arriving. Hmerrin calls for Dez to check the back room as he moves to the side where the guard was posted Gaffer suggests meeting the Watch outside and drags out an unconscious man. Nira finds most of the bodies nearly unrecognizable as such. The Flame strike and massive electrical attack has all but reduced them to charred husks. If the three she sat with are among the dead, she may never know. Ramirez assist in pulling the dead Rakshasa, now in their true forms, outside. It would hopefully help mitigate issues with The Watch.
Hmerrin finds the door locked and a quick pocket check finds the key on the guard. Inside is a mall break room with a pair of nice chairs, weapon belt rack, and a low table with left overs. There is a cage wall of sorts with baskets of items and a journal hanging from a chain. Quickly giving it a glance and this ust be the confiscated goods area. Several items listed involve a magical boost to perception, such as Elixer of Vision and Eyes of the Eagle there are also scrolls, a hat and several other vials and crystals. Des heads into the back room and as he crosses the threshold, there is a black aura that pulsates from the area. Des Will save DC 24 Dmg 24 or 12 The paladin finds the back room is a second gaming hall and far more refined in decor than the main area. There are also 12 people standing near the back wall about a gaming table. 2 are dressed as servers, both elf females. The other 10 are a finely dressed, mix of elf, human and half elf. All look nervous and unsure.
Outside, as of this moment, there are no shouts of alarm.
Desdichado agrees with meeting the Watch outside and showing them the dead rakshasa. He suggests to Gaffer that they tell the Watch to get Ja'Jalla since these are the enemies they'd warned him about.
Walking into back, he's briefly overcome by a great sense of evil, but shrugs it off and continues into the room.
Seeing a room full of people, but unsure whether there are more rakshasa disguised here, he firmly says (Intimidate: 22) "Please no one move. The staff here are all dead, as are many of the patrons. If you value your lives, stand quietly until we've had a chance to determine whether you are disguised rakshasa. The Watch will be here soon and if you obey my order you will be safe."
Hmerrin removes his magical haversack, and tries the ol' one arm scoop of the magic looking stuff into it.
Then, he'll go look for Dez.

Hmerrin pulls out a Haversack and starts grabbing Scroll; Eyes of Eagle; 2x Ion Stones Clear Spindle; Goggles Minute Seeing; 4x Elixir of Vision A ladder leads up to what was the walkway, now destroyed by the fire. There is no way to get to the rafters which are burning low and or smoldering. The Roulette Dealer, both guard, the back room server, a Cashier and the Back room dealer are all Rakshasa and dead and are now outside. In Nira's pocket is a polymorphed Serving girl.
In the backroom the small crowd of 12 nod dumbly at Des as if they do not really understand what is going on or why he seems so stern and upset.

Sensing that Hmerrin has encountered the same evil presence, Desdichado calls out to Nira in the outer room. "Nira, there is...something...magical and evil in this back room. Could you come tell us what it is, and maybe get rid of it? Be careful not to step back here."
Turning to the people in the room, he continues to watch over them carefully. "Not sure what's going on with this group," he says to Hmerrin. "They seem pretty out of it, but better safe than sorry. I've told them not to move until we can get some order around here."
Hmerrin stumbles going through the door as he's assailed by magical energy. "Sweet Alemi," he breathes. "That's bad."
Once his gets his head clear, he looks up at the people Dez is talking about. "Probably possessed as well," he mutters.
"So how do we get them out of here?" Hmerrin is talking to both Dez and himself on this one. He tries to recall the layout of the building, and which of the walls in this room probably leads out, and whether a large magical axe might make a door.

Nira takes the mouse from her pocket and gently places it on the ground. She says the magic word to dismiss the polymorph spell and returns the server to her usual (boring) form. "Are you alright? You're safe now. It would be best you leave though. I suggest heading home, have a stiff drink and try and get some rest". She gives a smile to the girl and quickly looks her over for any further signs of harm before letting her go.
At Des's call she rushes to find him and see what the fuss is about. If directed to an area that he thinks is magical she will look it over to try and determine the effect in place. Since it seems to be causing some issues she tries to dispel it - though it isn't her greatest attempt.

In the back room the small crowd look at each other a bit and back to Hmerrin and Des. For now, they seem content on waiting on you.

Danko wait outside with Gaffer. Looking up towards the roof, Gaffer seem no flames and very little smoke. It does not appear the fire burned long enough to penetrate the roof. Inside there is a fairly large crash as the Reverse Gravity ceases and the bodies, chairs tables and burned up walkway and supports all come crashing back down. As the dust settles, it seems as if the roof is going to stay put.
Des wonders if they could have been being prepped for another farm. The high quality of dress suggests a decent amount of wealth these folks likely have access to. Hmerrin thinks it about time to leave and his axes slam into the wall, with very little effect. Cutting through the wall is going to take some time. Nira and Ramirez both attempt to Dispel the Forbiddance]/i] and neither is successful. Nira knows that to have any hope of removing the magic, one must be as powerful as the caster of the spell in the first place. It is also completely safe to leave a [i]Forbiddance, Hmerrin, Des and the civilians can exit with no danger at all
The party has certainly taken out the main operators of the Nymph, but have found no links to anywhere else or the two men who met outside of Inn. Or any offices, or the main cash reserves of the Gaming Hall

Gaffer suggests to Danko. Then has another thought.
"I'm going to fly around for a bit and see who has taken notice. There might be movement somewhere else in the city since we've made our presence clear."
He'll hustle off to a nearby alleyway, wildshape into the familiar form of a hawk and take to the skies. Flying in an increasingly wide spiral he focuses his attention on any rooftops that might have figures observing The Nymph, or any houses that look to be undergoing a sudden evacuation.

"Someone could have led with that," he observes sourly.
"All righty then! Everybody is going outside." Hmerrin has his weapons sheathed, but of course is a bloody mess. The young lad makes a shooing motion and advances on one side of the civilians much like a sheep dog herding its flock. "Let's go now, we're all leaving, tck tck tck, there you go, everybody out, c'mon now."

Desdichado follows closely behind the group. He's still suspicious that one of them might be a disguised rakshasa trying to make an escape.
"Does anyone know if the Watch has any mages who might be able to help us with keeping an eye on this crew? Plus, we probably need to search the rakshasa for any clues about why we were sent here."

Quite a few people were coming and going during that fight. Nira shares Des' concern. Did they miss any of the rakshasa in all the excitement? She holds her ground as the civilians file past and casts a Locate Creature spell while focusing on Rakshasa. If there are any still alive nearby she will point them out to the rest of the party.

Gaffer queries about checking under the Gaming hall, somehow. He then shifts into a hawk and takes to the skies. The damage does not look as bad from out here. Danko casts Locate Object and quickly feels the spell pulling him to enter the building and turn to right. the direction, he recalls, to the Cashier cages Hmerrin and Des, with Ramirez assisting once the group is out of the Forbiddance, bring the rest of the civilians outside and as they pass through the smoldering room of charred bodies and bloody pools, to the last they are terrified of what's to become of them. None dare speak, but several are trying to keep their crying sobs as hushed as they can. Nira, agreeing with Des that some in the group might be Rakshasa, casts Locate Creature None in the small group are revealed by the spell or within the area
Gaffer spies The Watch approaching quickly from 2 different directions. One of the groups, the further of the 2, has 3 others with them. He recognizes them as having been in The Nymph. Further off, gaffer sees another group of The Watch, entering the main barracks where The Tide met with JaJolla.

Hmerrin gets outside with the people who obviously think they're about to get slaughtered.
He sighs heavily. This is not what was supposed to happen.
"I don't suppose anyone has some of those 'clean you up' spells to make us look more presentable," he asks The Tide.
Regardless, time to pay the piper. He addresses the bystanders, and people who just came out, first waving a hand at the dead rakasha. "We came for them, not for you. The Watch is on their way, and we plan to do whatever they tell us to do. You are free to stay or leave as you will."
He looks back at the building, trying to find words. But none come.
"I'm really sorry," is all he can manage.

Since Nira doesn't detect that any of these people are actually rakshasa trying to sneak away, Desidichado tries to give them comfort.

Gaffer flies his way back to the rest of The Tide and continuous to circle the group from above until the watch arrive, at which points he finds a low roost for himself where he can listen to what is being said.

It's a lot to take in. Ramirez helps see to the needs of the people that were prisoners, checking for wounded or other ill effects. As he works, he hums a soothing tune.

Nira isn't quite sure what to say. Quite a few civilians died in that building. Innocent people that would still be alive if the group hadn't entered, or had acted differently, or any one of a hundred other things that could change the outcome.
She works with Ram to treat and care for as many wounded people as possible. Only when the civilians have been healed will she turn her attention to the party.

Danko does his best to loot the loot for lack of better words. He starts with gathering the gems, then the magical items and finaly the coins.
He makes his way back but before going out of the building he casts greater Invisibility on himself.
He walks to Nira and whispers.. " Easy, it's Danko, I found the loot. I can teleport myself and four of us out of here and back to our base. I just need everyone to make physical contact and we can be out of here."

Everyone is outside save Danko, who followed his spell. None of the civilians outside are physically hurt in anyway and after Des talks for a few minutes, he is able to calm them and it seems they are coming to realize The Tide does not intend to kill them. A couple are able to answer the questions asked, though their thoughts seem muddled and their speech is off a bit. Nira suspects they are all drugged in some way. She noticed the drinks and food offered to her earlier were laced with several mind numbing agents. Nira also suspects the goal of the drugging was the same, simply more deceitful and quick, as serving alcohol at a gambling house. 'Was gambling for maybe 3 hours tonight, doing pretty good too.' 'We have worked here for about 6 years, most under the current owner master Greenleaf' One elf looks at the rakshasa now revealed and speaks 'We all are part of the masters club of The Nymph, exclusive gaming tables, higher stakes. I was looking forward to petitioning the Chancer's Club later this year.'
Danko gets the money from the Cage, turns invisible and returns outside
Gaffer watches as a 4 member standard group of The Watch round that corner a few buildings down and come to an abrupt stop. Hands draw finely crafted elven curved blades and 2 of group starts coming forward, the others quickly turning and begin circling around at a run.
For the party at large, you see 2 members of The Watch, weapons drawn, moving at a battle ready pace. "This is The Watch, by the sovereign lands of The Emerald Kingdom, you are ordered to disarm and remain where you are!"

He respectfully says "We are hunting rakshasa for the WLA by request of a high priest of Wardd. Ja'Jalla knows of us and our task."

Nira only has two daggers by her side but she follows the orders of the Watch and drops them to the ground. She raises her hands slightly to show that she is now unarmed.
"Some of these people require medical attention. There are a number of cuts and wounds, and I believe several have also been drugged"

So long as know voices call up to him directly, Gaffer ignores the situation below, trusting that his companions will do what can be done to smooth everything over. He focuses his attention on their wider surroundings still, watching for anything eye catching.
