DM Mitch/The Twins 16/43 STR at 13, drops to 3 if no poison cure available. Thursday January 13th, 2022 7:24:24 AM Honor is blind and not happy about it. Elron offers the stone. It doesn’t restore Honor’s sight. Mundhildur says they’ll find a way and does a search for loot. Zeoll sends the lurker in light back home. Asimov doesn’t have anything that will help.
While the matriarch carries no further magic items she is carrying a large amount of jewelry, gems, and crystals. Much of it is too small for her and must have belonged to the child sacrifices. On the altar there is a dagger that seems magical, and an old rusty looking warhammer inscribed “Crusty Jim” is found in a dark corner.
The party’s rest and recovery is interrupted by the arrival of newcomers. “What happened?!?” the voice of Zulok causes the party to turn around. He has a small troop of men with him, and Nilyndryl is in manacles. Before the party can answer he puffs out his chest and loudly declares “I claim this site and its possessions in the name of House Tzzukah. I order you to leave immediately!”

"I have one vial of antitoxin left, siblings. Can you share it between you? I don't fully get how things work for you - but, well, here you are." The Jotun carefully unstoppers the vial, and hands it to them. [If you drink a vial of antitoxin, you get a +5 alchemical bonus on Fortitude Saving Throws against Poison for 1 hour. "Also, there is something else I can do to help rid you of the toxin." She uses her healing skill to try to deal with the poison. Using her skill, and the +5 bonus from the antitoxin, gives her a DC25 roll against the poison's DC (or a DC20 if she can't add the antitoxin bonus). With the healing applied, and the antitoxin in their veins, the Twins get a +4 from the healing and +5 from the potion for a +9 on their saving throw versus the poison.
[DM Mitch - can you add a link to the Twins character sheet? If they have the self-sufficient feat, they get a bonus on Heal checks]
Just then the Bozo shows up.
Mundhildur steps away from the Twins, grows to her full height, and says, "SHUT UP Zulok! We've spent the last several days clearing this place. You talk to us with respect, and maybe we will listen. I am Mundhildur, of the Jotun, as you know. We came at your bidding, and, up to now, have treated YOU with respect." She spits. "You will reciprocate, and then we can talk."
She takes a rock and throws it against the wall off to one side, where it makes a considerable thud. "Now, let us talk peaceably, right?" She does not take another rock out for now. But she does count up the number of people the treacherous drow and their former guide has brought with him. "We just killed the Matriarch, the one who slew countless children upon this altar, the colossal spider and many other large and medium spiders she summoned against us.
"You yourself were in on the agreement made with us. Are you ready to discuss, drow? You're an honorable person, right?"
Then she speaks up into the air, and says, "Hidden Children of Sacrifice, you have seen what we have done to bring justice against her who harmed you in life and tormented you in death. We value your trust in us. Now, observe those who just arrived." She lowers her eyes back to the intruders. "Observe with us." She concludes quietly, "We call you to witness." Her eyes narrow, awaiting Zulok's response. There is no shift in her stance, but, inwardly, mentally, she prepares to pull her longspear and hurl it at Zulok's chest should he choose violence at this moment.

The words fall on Honor like hammer blows. Others had resisted; she could not. She is unworthy. Weak. She has failed her god, and this is the consequence. No wonder there is no one to help her. Why should the gods provide healing magic to one so undeserving? A simple spell had rendered her useless.
Dimly, she hear some sort of commotion and rises to her feet, turning this way and that to try to figure out what is happening and where.

Elron looks at his friends. Several of them are clearly injured to some degree. And he isn't sure of the size of the troop of drow.
"Honor, if you focus on Zulok's voice can you tell if his intent is evil?" Elron asks quietly while trying to figure out how to hide that she's doing something. Near as he can tell, detecting evil is just something Honor does, not something she sees.
"Zulok, did I ever tell you th' story of Mya and her friends? I can't figure out the endin' just now. Oh, but I do remember you sang us a sad chant 'bout th' desolation o' th' survivors after th' mountains collapsed on your people. You said it would make us fall asleep, but I only got drow-sy."

She tries to intimidate the drow when they show up. Honor feels great shame Elron asks Honor for a detect evil and talks about Mya’s story before making a terrible pun. Zeoll identifies the items real quick (+2 cold iron dagger with a bleed and poison effect, +2 warhammer with an acid burst effect, clear spindle ioun stone). He casts suggestion on Zulok Asimov points out it’s within the parties rights to render a place safe to explore. The Twins recover.
(Yes the party has a few minutes for things like curing poison and identifying items)
Rather then being cowed, Zulok seems absolutely outraged by Mundhildur’s outburst. Elron’s bad pun doesn’t help. ”You are common hirlings hired to do a job not fit to watch my ascent to greatness. Hous D’gul is weak and with Nilyndry’s death and the power of this alter we shall bring her followers into our own house and return the drow to their rightful place! Now leave!”
Then Zeoll casts his spell. Zulok starts to calm down and seem ready to be reasonable, but the drow soldiers behind him roar in outrage and draw weapons. His second quickly tells him in drow that he’s been enchanted and his pure fury overrides any sense of fair play the spell might have engendered. ”KILL THEM ALL!” he roars.
Mya appears behind the drow looking equally outraged. ”No! There will be no more sacrifices for power!” she yells, and her ghostly compatriots appear with her, literally glowing red in anger.
Zulok and his men seem surprised at the ghosts’ appearance but too outraged to stop. Several of them make gestures and envelope the back of the room in Darkness, covering everyone but Mundhildur. Zulok and the front rank rush Mundhildur, Drawing AoOs from her (Up to 3 if she has the ability to make more then one) They hit Mundhildur twice and bring her down ( 10 damage)
The back row of drow try to fight the ghosts but their weapons are mere masterwork and have no effect. Then Mya and the ghost children walk right into the drow and do… something. 5 of the six instantly drop dead, leaving only 1 horrified survivor.
DM Mitch/The Twins 16/43 STR at 13, d20=5 ; Friday January 14th, 2022 7:24:56 AM
The Twins rush out of the darkness and right into the middle of the drow. They address them with scathing scorn. "Fools." "Cowards." "The dark goddess that rules this place won't save you." "Nor will your so called racial superiority." They strike at the nearest warrior with their greatsword, who only barely gets out of the way (missed by 2)
Over ten feet tall, Mundhildur's fair freckled skin is set over high cheekbones. A handsome, formidable women, her twin braids show off hair of auburn and lighter red with a few dark blond highlights. Her deep dark green dress, now marred by rips and stains, has hitherto provided modest yet form-fitting cover, with florid embroidery a bit above the bottom, and echoed on each side of the bodice. The bodice is backed with a white woolen blouse marked with blood and spidery ichor yellow splotches. The formerly clean line of narrow embroidery flowing from waist to the bottom, and matching the colors above and below, now shows pulled stitching in four or five places. A metal linked belt sits at her waist and holds a pouch just in front of her left hip. A bag and a quiver are slung across her back.
As stated, she had an attack prepared, and she hurls her normal longspear toward Zulok's second who stands beside him urging him to violence, but it clatters off to one side (AC10).
Then drow warriors close in. As each one draws within ten feet she slams in attacks of opportunity. The first (AC25) takes 14 hp damage, the second (AC20) takes 11 hp damage, the third she misses.
Then they close to five feet. In the midst of their attacks, if she is able, she gets off one last slam (not AoO, and only one of the 3 standard slams she gets) vs AC26 for 11 hp damage - against the one she originally hit for 14hp - so he should have 25hp damage total. [DM Mitch - feel free to allow or disallow this final slam - but I envisioned her pretty much falling upon this antagonist. -Kim]
She falls to the ground, her life-flow further staining dark her clothing and spreading over the stone floor.

"Th' thing about that story is, it could'a had a happy-ish endin' but one blamed fool decided t' make it at best bittersweet."
Elron attacks his drow with a strike meant to hobble him, not kill him (non-lethal, scorpion style). Seeing the line of bodies in the back of the room, Elron figures any killing is well in hand.
Hits AC 25 for 4 points of non-lethal damage and the target must make a DC 17 fortitude save or be reduced to 5' movement for 4 rounds.

===== A Choice Is Offered ===== "Tell you what, ma'am," Mundhildur says to Nilyndryl. "You have a choice. We promised to go through and clean out the place, and help make it habitable. And also leave you the cultural relics. We'll keep our end of the bargain - but, as you now can tell, there are these lovely, forlorn spirits of the victims of this drow-spider lady still entrapped here until yon altar is smashed to bits, never to be used again, never to be rebuilt. That altar, cultural relic or not, is an abomination, and soaked in the blood of evil sacrifices.
"So, either you agree to help us out by taking up the warhammer called 'Crusty Jim' to take the first three swings to begin breaking it down, or if you won't do that, then we let you remain in the manacles and watch us until we finish the work. Because we also promised these kindly spirits - they have been kindly to us, at least - we promised to free them if we could.
"Keep in mind - and sorry for the lecture - keep in mind that Mya and her sisters in death just managed to free you from losing your blood upon this very altar. I am glad that Zulok is dead. Never thought I'd say that.
"By your joining in with us, that will be a sign that you disavow what this matriarch did, and that you vow never to institute such a system of sacrifice yourself, and you will endeavor to ensure that none of your house, nor of House Tzzukah, nor, if you can prevent it, any Drow house, shall ever build an altar with the purpose set for this one.
"So, Nilyndryl of House D'gul, will you swing the hammer? Or just watch us do it?" she concludes.
If she will not help, then Mundhildur takes up Crusty Jim, and strikes it three blows of the hammer, then passes it on to the next person in the party who wants to strike it. If Nilyndryl will help, Mundhildur instead takes up the hammer, approaches the altar to stand next to it, waits for someone to unshackle the drow matriarch, holds Crusty Jim horizontally, and offers it to the head of House D'gul.
[And, on the off chance Crusty Jim is not up to the task, Mundhi will pull a hammer and a pickax from out of her bag, and let everyone use those.]

DM Mitch/The Twins 16/43 STR at 13, Friday January 21st, 2022 7:01:46 AM Mundhildur gives a long speech about choice and proposes people take turns smacking the alter with a hammer. Honor isn’t sure if her detect evil worked (sorry forgot to include it). She dispels the darkness Asimov lays on about how the ghosts have been helpful and others might succumb to temptation.
Honor can detect evil in the room but while blind cannot tell it’s source. It may be the altar, the ghosts, one of the items they found, Nilyndryl, or literally anything else in the immediate area.
Nilyndryl looks a little incredulous at Mundhildur’s proposal. ”You’re a giant. Just smash it. We are interested in pieces of our history, but that’s an artifact of old hatreds and grudges, from before we returned to the surface and built a new place in the Wold for our race. I agree it will only bring more misery intact but it can still serve as a lesson to our people with it’s power broken.”

"So, you will allow, but not take a direct hand in its destruction, when it was you about to be bled to death upon it?" the tall woman asks, left eyebrow raised. "Frankly, I am puzzled at your reluctance, and refusal to land even a blow. Yet, you see the wisdom in its destruction."
She sees the hopeful smile of their ghostly friend. "And, with your approval, Mya. I will take the first swing."
With Crusty Jim in hand, she steps to the other side of the altar, closest to the chamber's spider head. She places the head of the hammer a few inches above the stone, breathes deeply in and out three times, then says, "For the forsaking of evil, to remember the deaths of the innocent, and to set them free of their bondage."
Mundhildur lifts the head of the hammer up over her back, rises on her toes as she inhales once again, then swings over her head and down upon the stone, bringing nearly her full weight to the force of the blow as the head of the weapon cracks down.
Nat 20, crit threat. If 18 is enough to ratify the crit... I don't know how much damage Crusty Jim typically does, so will ask our trusty DM to roll that for her.
After seeing what damage that did, if no cracks formed, she will strike twice more (to lesser effect w/AC12 and AC14, unless we are in an automatic hit situation). If the impact had greater effect, and broke the altar, she will step back. "All of us who can should help. After all have had a chance, I am willing to reduce it to rubble."
She hands the hammer to whoever wants to try it next.
She turns again to the drow. "Nilyndryl of House D'gul, if not for yourself, if not for your house, will you join in for at least one strike for the sake of the children?"
SteveM - Elron | AC 21 (19 if raging), HP 6/49 Friday January 21st, 2022 5:24:50 PM
Hearing mention of only one source of evil, Elron is happy to assume it's the altar and relieved that it's not the ghosts.
Elron fishes out the vial of holy water he acquired for this adventure. It may not have been needed to deal with undead, but maybe it will be useful. If Mundhildur has cracked the altar, he pours it into the cracks to help the thing crumble. If the altar has resisted attempts to harm it, he spreads the water out in hopes that it will make the next attempts more successful.
Obviously, a bitty flask of water isn't going to un-desecrate a huge altar, but every little bit helps.
DM Mitch/The Twins 16/43 STR at 13, Friday January 21st, 2022 6:54:16 PM
Mundhildur smashes the alter with the first swing. It collapses and crumbles like you'd expect from something hundreds of years old with no maintenance. It probably only lasted due to its magic which now disperses.
Mya and the other ghosts fade out looking peaceful. Nilyndryl comments, "it's not a question of willingness as much as redundancy."

Astonished, Mundhildur takes in a sharp breath and steps back... and after a long moment breathes out,* rather in awe of what just happened. She looks at the hammer with respect, then glances up just in time to watch the up-until-now trapped ghosts fading away, released - to the lands of rest? That is her hope.
She smiles at Nilyndryl's comment. "Elron, giving the rubble a light sprinkle could not hurt. After you do that, would you be so kind as to release Lady Nilyndryl from her bonds?"
"Asimov, thank you for that libation. It smells of lavender and metal, but you used it to heal me, no?" She was unconscious when he gave her the medihaler, but she has benefitted from them before.
"Twins - you were all over the place. I sensed you rushing forward bravely shouting things against the traitors just before a couple of them managed to drop me to the floor. You are a bold pair."
"Zeoll, you asked something of Nilyndryl, did you not?" She walks over to Honor. "Your heart is most stout, aasimar. I owe you a debt of gratitude. We will ensure that you see again."

Asimov starts turning his attention to Irony.
He starts to the 10 minute process to restore his minion with his rapid repair nanobot capsule for 15 hp healed or maybe more.
Asimov says, "Sometimes the best I can do is heal the rest of you guys and rely on Irony to deal damage. It could sure use a tune up." (OOC: is make whole like normal healing where you reroll 1s or not?)
DM Mitch/The Twins 16/43 STR at 13, Monday January 24th, 2022 7:16:55 AM Zeoll tells Mundi to do the honors. Mundhildur is confused by Nilyndryl’s reluctance and proceeds. She is shocked at her swift success and gives compliments all around. Elron gets some holy water out. Honor wants to know if they’re done. Asimov starts repairs (healing is healing so reroll those 1s)
Nilyndryl is able to cast remove blindness on Honor, restoring her sight. She then retrieves one of the weapons the dead drow used and starts trying to cut off Zulok’s head with it. It’s a rapier and not really built for the job but she gets it done. ”This will be needed to make the rest of his forces stand down.” she says, grimacing at all the blood she’s gotten on herself.
After quickly confirming that this is in fact the end of the dungeon the party presumably heads back. Partway there they meet a contingent of soldiers on the way to rescue Nalyndryl. She thanks them and there’s a discussion in Drow about the state of things back near the surface.

I decided to bring extra healing items for us nonconstructs this time and considering how Mundhi and Bill the camel both went down in that last fight it was certainly necessary."
DM Mitch/The Twins 16/43 STR at 13, Tuesday January 25th, 2022 6:25:45 AM Elron asks about which tunnels are safe now. Mundhildur asks about burning the corpse. No one raises objections so she does. The drow seem to be speaking their native tongue not due to trying to keep secrets, but because they’re too busy/concerned to be polite to speak a language the PC’s know. Honor decides not to lend her blade for the gruesome task. Zeoll tries to get a read on the situation. It’s tense and professional. The party did gather all the loot. He suggest a consecration. Asimov comments on how the extra healing was useful.
One of the drow briefly replies that they’ve cleared the dungeon of danger up to the party's current position. Since there is really only one way to go with no side paths that seems to indicate they’ll be safe getting back to where they were.
Mundhildur’s listening in lets her know that there currently isn’t any fighting in the section of tunnels the PC’s stayed at. Zulok arranged a meeting with Nilyndryl before surprising her with his attack and dragging her below before her people realized what was happening. Those of his clan who remained barricaded themselves in a section of cave to await his return with the power of the temple so he could force Nilyndryl’s clan to swear fealty to him after her death. It was decided saving her was more important than assaulting the barricaded group.
The drow and the party make their way back to the cave system right under the surface. Nilyndryl tells someone to escort them to their rooms. If any PC argues about helping with Zulok’s people she says, ”This is an internal drow matter, and you’re all clearly in rough shape from the dungeon. Rest, recover, and let us handle this. You’d done more than enough.”

Elron will do his best to recover, but he stays alert for trouble coming through the doors to the room. (Perception = 32)

"Yes, it might be that, Elron," she responds.
And gets to work on helping to heal her friends - a worthy group to travel with. Heal skill check: 20 (15 needed for long-term care). This will handle 20 hp of healing for a full day's rest. Mundhildur herself will not benefit from the care she gives others, so some other means of restoring her will be needed.
If by chance, we have made it to 6th level, then that will be 24 hp of healing, rather than 20.

Mundhildur enjoys Elron's stories, though she does not always fully understand them.
She takes the time to observe Asimov as he puts together his concoctions and little machines. Occasionally she asks questions as to ingredients, and how he figures all these things out.
After the days of healing, Mundhildur's aches and pains have largely disappeared. She expresses gratitude for Honor's ministrations, and what her friends have done for her and each other.
She considers the carnage they have dealt out, and the wounds they received over the past several days. Spiders, a deceitful but irritatingly charming troll, the false friends - dopplegangers? - who almost defeated them. The deadly crystal cavern. The wicked drow spider matriarch, murderer of many, and the spiders - including one colossal - she had summoned. And finally the rebellious Zulok and his followers.
She also thinks over the riddles and puzzles they had to work through.
"That was rather a nasty place to go through, Ma'am," she tells Nilyndryl. "Glad we made it. Could not have done it without these, my worthy, resourceful friends."
She pauses, then asks, "Is it safe to ask how things fare for you on the, uh, diplomatic front?"

With Asimov's help, Elron needs only an overnight rest before he's raring to go. He doesn't trust the drow now, but recognizes that they would have attacked when his friends were weak if that were their intent.

Nilyndryl nods at Mundhildur’s comment on needing her friends. ”From what I saw while being dragged down there you faced truly fierce opponents. For all of his treachery Zulok was wise to hire you, though perhaps too smart for his own good for you proved his downfall.”
“His clan has been trying to claim that mine betrayed them. That we sought to claim the power of the temple and Zulok went to stop us before we became too powerful to resist. A clever ploy, but with the altar broken not an effective one. Those in his clan who are trustworthy have seen the broken altar and convinced the remainder of the truth. Those that plotted and lied to support Zulok are dead or have fled. With the leadership scattered it is likely our clans will merge, with my remaining matriarch of both.
She seems somewhat pleased at the outcome and her growing power. ”The job is indeed done, and more besides. I have much to thank you for. The deal ways you could keep anything you found that wasn’t culturally important as treasure to pay for your service. Are you satisfied with your payment? With the reward settled and the party fully healed it is presumably time to go. There are many goodbyes and thanks offered and given before the party is guided back to the surface.
Mundhildur Karadottir, Jotun singing giant (7'4" atm) (Kim) AC 17 Touch 13 FF15 HP 11/41 Tuesday February 1st, 2022 1:49:23 PM
Mundhildur takes in her friend's elaboration of his resources as Zeoll goes over them, and will listen to any others who likewise share. She will add her own list to the discussion.
She is quite pleased to see that her two mules, Sled and Rockhead, have been well tended to. She hitches the cart to the mounts.
As they ready to set off, she tells their hostess, "Thank you, Lady, for your hospitality, your trust in us, giving us room to recover where needed, and the honoring of our agreement. I am pleased that you were able to halt the coup, and that we, and our friends the ghosts, were able to assist in that direction. I pray you govern with wisdom your people. Never build anything like that blasted altar, and may it rest in pieces forevermore. Farewell, Nilyndryl of House D'gul."
And she sets off happily with her now-closer friends, whether directly to return to Lowestoft and report in to Marquis Horatio and to see how Daniella fares, or to attend to other adventuring business as it arises.
[OOC: Busy week for me, starting a new job plus other items. I rolled Mundhi's hp in the LnB (6) a few days ago. I likely won't have her character sheet update settled until sometime this weekend. Oh, also, I think that, in addition to the hero point for the end of the module, there may be room for additional hit point awards. Finally, thanks for DMing, Mitch (you've been DMing *both* of my games), and to Cayzle for picking up the next thread. -Kim]
Honor Bright [AC 19; HP 37/42] (Kathy) d10+2=8 ; Tuesday February 1st, 2022 5:29:40 PM
[Hit points.]
SteveM - Elron | AC 21 (19 if raging), HP 49/49 Tuesday February 1st, 2022 7:22:14 PM "What goes through towns, up hills, and down hills but never moves?"
Elron considers the possibilities of purchasing a horn of fog.
"The road!"
Zeoll the Greensinger | AC18 (touch 11), 34 of 34hp | Cayzle Tuesday February 1st, 2022 11:33:01 PM
Zeoll bids farewell to the drow, glad to have been able to help them.
He enjoys being above ground and in nature on the road home.
Asimov and Irony | Hugh | AC 17/13/15 HP 53/53 | AC 20/11/19 HP 35/35 Hardness 2 Wednesday February 2nd, 2022 1:11:32 AM
Asimov says to Elron, "Aye and it seems like the road goes ever on and on, doesn't it?" (OOC: I finished leveling yesterday if that wasn't clear)
DM Mitch/The Twins 33/43 Wednesday February 2nd, 2022 8:55:35 AM
The trip back is pretty uneventful the first day. The party passes through the wilderness area where they ran across monkeys and cats but manage to make it through unmolested by wildlife. Watches are set and though a few animals approach none really threaten the party.
Honor Bright (Kathy) Wednesday February 2nd, 2022 3:50:27 PM
Honor is able to heal herself the rest of the way.
"It feels good to be out in the fresh air again," she says.
[Honor is leveled up.]
Zeoll the Greensinger | AC18 (touch 11), 34 of 34hp | Cayzle Wednesday February 2nd, 2022 5:34:13 PM
Zeoll enjoys his new loot, showing off his headband especially.
"I think it makes me look quite distinguished!"
(It is a headband of charisma.)
The liontaur also reminds the party of how his Peaceball spell works. "After I cast it, I have to concentrrate. I'll point out the affected enemies, and then you do NOT attack them until afterr all the otherr foes arre vanquished!"
SteveM - Elron | AC 21 (19 if raging), HP 49/49 Wednesday February 2nd, 2022 6:30:12 PM "How much holy water fits in a flask -- about a cup? A pint? Supposin' I get a hundred gallons of holy water, that's what -- like four hundred flasks? What sort'a undead monster do you think we could face with that?"
Asimov and Irony | Hugh | AC 17/13/15 HP 53/53 | AC 20/11/19 HP 35/35 Hardness 2 Thursday February 3rd, 2022 1:02:27 AM
Asimov shows off his new acquisitions too.
He says, "I got Irony a better pair of bracers and I got a headband of my own. Of course mine somehow makes me smarter. though I examined it and cannot for the life of me figure out mechanically why it should work. I wonder if it is merely the placebo effect."
Mundhildur Karadottir, Jotun singing giant (7'4" atm) (Kim) AC 17 Touch 13 FF15 HP 11/41 Thursday February 3rd, 2022 3:28:17 AM
The giantess laughs aloud at Elron's riddle and answer, after which, she says, "Surely the Lord of Laughter would be amused, my big bird friend!"
After Honor remarks on the fresh air a few minutes on the road away from the entrance to the underwold, Mundhildur stops for a moment to take several large breaths. She inhales and exhales loudly. "Outside air is so much better!" she proclaims. "You are right, Honor!"
Looking at the liontaur as he remarks about his new headband, she looks around his mane. "It looks like you are standing in a breeze, Zeoll!" She nods as he explains the working of the Peaceball.
"What is a pla-see-bow effect, Asimov? I have never heard of such."
She attends to the occasional needs of the mules as they travel the road. She takes a watch at night. Two if necessary. She collects firewood in the jungle to use as they travel in places with little or no wood. She wonders if the pass they barely seemed to make it through will be blocked, or cleared by someone by now. Well, there's still a few days until the pass.
"Twins, so, what do you think about all we just went through?" she asks around the campsite.
[Again, should have CS updated fully by weekend - have done some work on it.]
DM Mitch/The Twins 33/43 Thursday February 3rd, 2022 7:57:33 AM "Stupidity." "The spider matriarch was a fool." "Of course her followers would turn on her." "Zulok as well." "If he couldn't clear the temple," "what made him think he could beat us when we did?"
DM Mitch/The Twins 33/43 Thursday February 3rd, 2022 8:00:13 AM
The party has a good nights rest. They continue onward through the jungle and the plains before having to advance up to the mountain pass where they were almost crushed by rocks. When they get there they find some rubble blocking the road. Either from the slide when they passed through or from a slide since. It'll have to be cleared for them to continue.
Mundhildur Karadottir, Jotun singing giant 10'5" atm) (Kim) AC 17 Touch 13 FF15 HP 58/58 d20+7=17 ; d20+7=21 ; Thursday February 3rd, 2022 9:02:55 AM
Mundhildur, who has been traveling mainly at her shorter height, now grows from 7'4" up to 10'5". She is developing a fondness for throwing stones, and gets to work immediately on this project. Before she gets too far, though, she takes out of the cart a few crowbars and pickaxes to offer to others so they can get to work as well. She sings songs as she works. Some from her upbringing, some she has heard others sing. A few that Zeoll has sung. The first few are sung adequately. But as she warms up, she gets better. ============= Performance, Singing: 17, 21. ------ Edit: Fixed hit point total. Found out I was listing her hit points at 41 at 5th level, rather than the 48 it was supposed to be. Now 58 (6+Con)
Zeoll the Greensinger | AC18 (touch 11), 34 of 34hp | Cayzle Thursday February 3rd, 2022 3:28:36 PM
Zeoll cheers Mundhi on, but apologizes for not helping physically.
"My lumbago, my dearr. Seems to be not so bad as I rrememberr, but I can't chance it. You'rre doing a splendid job, though, my young frriend."
Honor Bright (Kathy) Thursday February 3rd, 2022 7:32:11 PM
Honor helps clear the rocks out of the road, using the tools available and doing her best to stay out of Mundhildur's way.
SteveM - Elron | AC 21 (19 if raging), HP 49/49 Thursday February 3rd, 2022 8:28:23 PM
Elron also helps clear the road, although it's likely to be long, slow work. "Zeoll, at least join in th' singin'."
Asimov and Irony | Hugh | AC 17/13/15 HP 53/53 | AC 20/11/19 HP 35/35 Hardness 2 d20+10=24 ; Thursday February 3rd, 2022 11:36:05 PM
Asimov says to Irony, "Do be a dear and help Munhildur clean the debris."
While his mechanical minion is being a mechanical minion he keeps a sharp eye out for any potential threats.
Mundhildur Karadottir, Jotun singing giant 10'5" atm) (Kim) AC 17 Touch 13 FF15 HP 58/58 Friday February 4th, 2022 6:15:20 AM
The tall lass smiles as her friends join in. She handles the larger rocks and boulders, perhaps occasionally grabbing a crowbar for the really big ones, and she lets her friends take up the smaller ones. "Hi, Irony! Glad to work by your side, too."
DM Mitch/The Twins 33/43 Friday February 4th, 2022 7:08:56 AM
With about an hour’s concentrated effort the party manages to clear the pass again. It’s hard work and makes the march afterwards somewhat miserable but the party's luck holds and that’s the last real difficulty on the road back. They make good progress, get to say hi to the bear again in the plains, and eventually find themselves in familiar ground a few hours walk to town.
SteveM - Elron | AC 21 (19 if raging), HP 49/49 Friday February 4th, 2022 4:10:47 PM
Elron's mood improves as they get closer to Lowestoft. Of course, it probably would have improved with time and distance away from that hideous altar, but he's willing to let Lowestoft have the credit.
"Say, did I ever tell you 'bout th' time I attended a weddin' where th' groom was left at th' altar? Best one I ever saw -- it went off without a hitch."
Honor Bright (Kathy) Friday February 4th, 2022 10:24:55 PM
Honor giggles a little at Elron's joke. She, too, will be glad to be home again.
Zeoll the Greensinger | AC18 (touch 11), 34 of 34hp | Cayzle Friday February 4th, 2022 11:46:51 PM
Zeoll laughs, heart lightened by the merriment and the joy of being home.
Mundhildur Karadottir, Jotun singing giant 10'5" atm) (Kim) AC 17 Touch 13 FF15 HP 58/58 Saturday February 5th, 2022 2:57:22 AM
"I look forward to giving Danielle a big hug. And I want to sing with the barber - he sings good songs with a fine voice. Zeoll - maybe you can join us, and we'll have a barbershop trio." Mundhildur's steps seem easier to her as they draw near the town.
Though she does pause for a moment where they had found the remains of the sprites. "I wish we knew who had murdered the poor things," she says quietly.
Any somber thoughts disappear as they cross the bridge.
