[Everybody take 300 XP for the previous scene.]

Ash's spell tells her that this is the real Ena and not some kind of fake. You examine the elf woman, and find that she is alive, but unconscious. You do not see any wounds.

Zazu casts Detect Magic, and detects the presence of magical auras.

Panzer realizes that this room is stone! Sound will echo and carry! He is giving his DM way too much credit, by the way, but he rushes up to try to shake Ena awake. She does not awaken.

Lothlo looks around the room for signs that anything is off. Your eye is drawn to the tunnel entrance behind you. Something is off about it, but you can't put your finger on what.

Then the door at the other end of the room bursts open and a woman strides through. You recognize her as Silken. Three half-elves with bows, and two halflings with short swords, follow her into the room.

Even as they enter, the entrance to the tunnel collapses. Dirt, rock, and debris pour down, completely filling the entrance and making it impassible. Dust filters into the room.

"You are trapped," Silken says with a triumphant smile. "You can't get out the way you came in, and every thief in the Guild stands between you and the exit to the Den of Thieves. You have nowhere to go."

She glances at Ena on the pallet. "The emissary is fine, by the way. We just wanted her to miss the meeting. We'll let her go later. You will receive no such offer, though if you surrender now, you have a chance to get out of this with your lives."

Beech begins leading the way into the backyard, where the group can conceal themselves behind an illusion. Before you get too far, however, you, Sahabiel, and Nightingale hear a faint rumbling from below, and feel the ground tremble a little beneath your feet. A fine dust begins sifting up through the open trap door.

[We are in combat rounds. I'll try to have a map tomorrow.]

Zazu casts a color spray spell before combat is joined, so that he can be sure not to hit friends. Will Save DC17. If needed, Zazu takes a five ft step forward to get as many in the spray as possible, focusing on the minions, since Silken likely has a good save.

Then the illusion of the halfling chef draws a cleaver and rushes Silken. (Will save 18 to sense it is an illusion, once interaction takes place). (The illusion lasts three rounds after Zazu stops concentrating on it.) The "chef" swings and misses. If the chef is "hit," Zazu will add blood realistically.

"Drop the illusions", Sahabiel urges Beech. "that rumbling is going to make people want to check on the cellar, and the hatch better not be magicked over when they do. Hiding it is over, now's the time for creating pretext as to why people going down there to check should include us."

With that she starts marching urgently towards the connecting door to the pub commons.

(ooc: if we are also in combat time, that is all the actions and moving she could do in one round, but just to clarify what she is doing I'll post the rest of the intended scene so for 'mood' purposes you'll know what she is in the middle of if an npc spots her at this time.)

Sahabiel makes a beeline for the barkeep, and alerts him in hushed tone, "Oi, I was on my way to the privvies when there was this rumbling underfoot, so I looked around and saw dust rising in yer kitchen. That's dust, in yer kitchen. What's going on in there?"

( Not sure where Panzer's blades are right now after all the stuff posted last time. I am going to say they are sheathed as he was about to scoop up Ena and skedaddle.)
Panzer freezes mid crouch and listens to the gloating monologue behind him as the door opens. This can only be Silken, no intro by name needed. He looks Ash dead in the eyes as he uses his body to conceal his actions. He summons from seemingly nowhere (wrist sheathe) a CLW wand and drops it in front of Ash mouthing the words 'healing wand'. As far as he knows she is the only one in the room who can 100% activate it to heal, his chances are closer to 50% and his hands are going to be very busy soon.
As he straightens he casts a spell (57% passing Spell failure chance) and encases himself in a shield spell (Now AC 24/18/21). He draws his blades and turns, stepping 5 feet closer to the enemies and addresses them just as Zazu lights up the room.
" Hi, I'm new. Haven't met you yet Silken, but you are not half as terrifying as I had been led to believe. I'll tell you what. Here's my counter offer. Let us go or I'll just have to kill every Thieves Guild member between here and the door. Sure it'll take a little time, but I am so bored from all this hide and seek all day that I can sure use the exercise." ( I think I am out of actions but I'll toss an intimidate check in just in case to demoralize opponents. If the check is allowed ( It is a standard action and like I said, I think I am out of actions), I want to add a proactive hero point to the roll, making the total +9, go big or go home!)

Ash nods to Panzer. Right now there are bigger threats though and Ena doesn't look to be their target.

"What, no children to abduct this time?" She casts a Blindness spell at Silken and just holds the wand for a moment.

Something about that tunnel entrance was off. Where did all this dirt come from, you don't typically build a basement with 8 feet of dirt between you and the first floor. Even to trap people in a room like this you would typically use iron bars or something like that... if this some sort of illusion? And just as importantly, is there any other way out of this room?

Perception = 21

For the moment Lothlo waits on attacking, not wanting to attack first when they were the ones who broke in, but he readies an action to let his arrows to fly at the weakest looking opponent should Silken make good on her promise of violence

Zazu steps up and casts a Color Spray, catching Silken, one archer, and one halfling. All three fail their saves. Silken and the halfling are stunned; the archer is blinded and stunned.

Panzer pulls out a wand (move action), then drops it in front of Ash (free action). Then he casts a spell (standard action). Unless I've miscounted, he's now out of actions unless he wants to spend a Hero Point.

Ash picks up the wand and casts Blindness at Silken, but the rogue makes her save.

Lothlo holds his action for the moment.

One of the non-blinded archers fires at Zazu. He hits, and Zazu takes 7 damage.

The other non-blinded archer fires at Lothlo. He also hits, doing 3 nonlethal damage. Lothlo must make a DC 11 Will save or fall asleep.

This, of course, sets off Lothlo's readied action. The weakest-looking opponent is the blind archer, so Lothlo fires at him, hitting and doing damage.

The non-stunned halfling pulls out a hand crossbow and fires it at Zazu, scoring a critical hit! Zazu takes 2 damage! Ha! Fear the mighty halfling hand crossbow!

And the map.

Meanwhile, Sahabiel urges Beech to drop the illusion. Beech does so, wondering about possible alternate entrances.

Sahabiel starts for the common room, but somebody comes into the kitchen. You recognize one of the bouncers. "Hal?" he asks. "Everything all right?" He sees you and stops, frowning. "Who are you?" he asks. "And where's Hal?"

Sahabiel greets the bouncer as anyone would welcome support. "S'habiel", she quickly blurts and slightly distorts her name with the haste of someone who has a point to get to; "I was goin' round the back for the privies when I felt that tremor. Thought the same thing ya did and looked back for what was happening, then saw that plume of dust rising in yer kitchen. If yer man Hal is supposed to be here somewhere, I haven't seen anyone - but haven't been in here long enough to see much of anything besides that the dust's coming from yon hatch over there. I figured I'd go tell the owner. That's the hatch to yer keg cellar I presume? Since whatever moved there could be felt through the darn floorboards, I was thinking a stack of barrels may have gone over. Wasn't going to touch that before checking with the owner and seeing if there'd be something in it for me if he needed some hands, but if yer man might be trapped under, I guess I can lift first and ask later..."

Panzer could have still managed that 5' step though, I adjusted him closer, but it really isn't going to matter. What did Silken drop BTW? {A stunned creature drops everything held, can’t take actions, takes a –2 penalty to AC, and loses its Dexterity bonus to AC (if any).}
Panzer draws his right hand Kukri and steps around the reeling minions to Silken's side. He swiftly imbues it with a fraction of his power, making it magical, and then slashes at her as hard as he can (Main hand only, Power attack, arcane strike)

Main hand Kukri hits Ac 23 for 13 damage( slashing, magical and adamantite)

Ash uses the wand to give Ena some healing. If the noise of the tunnel collapse and the fight hasn't woken her, then she isn't just sleeping. The healing isn't much, but hopefully enough to stir her. "Let's get you out of the way a bit".

If the healing works then Ash guides Ena to the back of the room. If she's still unconscious, then Ash will simply drag her off the bed and across the ground. Things are about to get stabby and Ena might get in the way.

Beech stays behind the illusion at the edge of the yard.... Too many people rushing to help, would look strange, at least until someone called out for assistance.
He stays ready to either attack or cast as needed in a pinch. He can barely find a door in his mom's castle, let alone find a concealed one out here somewhere...
He whispers, "Are there any building other than the privy out here somewhat close? There might be another entrance that way..."

Naithi uses a hero point to cast both Cat's Grace and Bark Skin on both herself and Camalayas.

(Lost Child had the share spell ability. Each spell effects both Camalayas and Naithi, but the duration is cut in half)

CAMALAYAS charges forwards and attacks the enemy Panzer is fighting.

Lothlo pulls out two more arrows and fires them at the same target, or the closes one should they fall. There are a lot of targets, so he tries to make his aim on the target little more deadly (deadly aim).

Zazu casts Scorching Ray. Not at Silken; that would be firing into a melee. Instead, at the blinded archer, seeing as a blinded foe loses his dex bonus, so he can be sneak attacked, and no one is meleeing him.

Zazu hits touch AC 10. Add in the +2 attack bonus to hit a foe who cannot see you, and that's a 12. Since the archer has lost his dex bonus, I hope that hits.

Damage is 4d6 +1d6 sneak attack. That's 17 fire damage.

Not as brave (or sturdy or buffed) as Camalayas, Boyo stands back.

The illusion of the halfling chef moves over to "engage" an archer.

Panzer steps up and slashes at Silken. He hits, and does damage. [Silken had not yet drawn her weapons, and so didn't drop anything. The archer dropped his bow and the halfling dropped his sword.]

Lothlo resists the sleep arrow and fires twice more at the archer, dropping him.

Ash has the healing wand, but has already realized that Ena is not injured. Whatever ails her, a cure spell isn't going to help it. She remains unconscious. She stirs and mumbles a bit as you drag her off, but she does not wake up.

Making a heroic effort, Naithi casts two spells, sharing them both with Camalayas. Meanwhile, Camalayas charges Silken, hitting and doing damage. [On the map, the archers are the ones holding bows. The halflings are the small ones. Silken is the woman in red boots.]

Zazu casts Scorching Ray, but his intended target is already down. Would you like a different target?

Silken snaps out of her stun. She draws her rapier, but does not attack with it. Instead, she begins a graceful, sinuous dance, using the rapier almost as a prop. Her companions seem to take heart from this. [Bardic Performance]

The stunned halfling also snaps out of it, and steps to flank Panzer with Silken. Of course, this does him no good without a weapon, so he picks up his short sword, provoking an attack of opportunity from Panzer. Assuming he survives that process, he attacks Panzer, his short sword sliding between the badgerkin's ribs. Panzer takes 15 damage, and cannot take attacks of opportunity for the next round.

The other halfling moves to flank Naithi and Camalayas with Silken. He has the speed to move without provoking an attack of opportunity, so that's what he does. He attacks Naithi with his short sword, buT cannot hit.

The archer takes a 5-foot step away from the "chef", and then the two remaining archers shoot at Lothlo, but both shots are terrible.

And the map.

Topside, Sahabiel introduces herself--kind of--then begins weaving a tale of tremors and kegs. The bouncer frowns, holding up a hand to cut you off. "Hal wouldn't be messing around with kegs," he says. Looking at you and Beech, he adds, "This area is employees only. I have to ask you both to leave."

Meanwhile, Nightingale races around to come in the front door, and reports the ground shaking. "It's fine," the barkeep says. "Our people are on it. What can I get you?"

It dawns on Ash that Ena is probably drugged. That would explain why she hadn't made any attempt to escape or any noise. She casts a spectral hand spell to help deliver some spells from a distance.

Panzer steps around Silken to flank with Camalayas and draws his second blade. He swiftly makes his blades magical and then unloads everything he has on Silken

So last round, maybe the stunned halfling got scorched.

This round, Zazu takes out his bow and shoots at an archer who is not in melee ... or else at someone else not in melee ... or at Silken if everybody is in melee.

The rogue hits AC19 for 1 point of nonlethal damage.

Grunting with effort, the illusion of the chef moves and slashes at Silken, missing.

With the passing of every second without footsteps or any other sound from below, it is becoming more clear that nobody is making their way back through the cellar. Whatever the cause of that rumbling and shaking was, it should have given the scout group enough reason to come back out by now if they were able to. Which implies that right now, they were not able to.

Sahabiel shrugs at the bouncer's assertion that Hal wouldn't mess around with kegs. "If ya say so. Either way I feel someone should go check the cellar, because something made that noise and you've got a guy missing. Need me to pass any message to yer boss on my way back to my table?"

If the halfling between Lothlo and Naithi is the one that Zazu scorched, then Lothlo takes his bow and with deadly aim fires two arrows at him (no penalty shooting into melee). Otherwise he sends his arrows flying at the archer Zazu is now targeting.

Last round, Zazu aimed his ray at the stunned halfling, and hit. Panzer's AOO did more damage, but the halfling is still standing.

Ash realizes that Ena is probably drugged. She casts Spectral Hand.

This round, Panzer takes a five-foot step, draws his blade (move action), imbues his blades with magic (swift action?), then attacks. However, since he already took a move action, he can't take a full attack action, which means he can only attack once. His main kukri hits and does damage. [OOC: You can draw a weapon as part of a move, but a 5-foot step is not a move.]

Naithi and Camalayas attempt to grapple Silken. They succeed, and Silken is now grappled and in Naithi's square.

Zazu fires a shot at the rightmost archer, hitting for a small amount of damage. Lothlo follows up with two more shots and the archer goes down.

Silken tries to squirm out of Camalayas's grapple, but is unsuccessful.

The injured halfling moves to flank Zazu with his companion, and then both halflings attack. Neither halfling hits.

The lone remaining archer takes a 5-foot step and opens the door.

And the map.

Nightingale asks for mulled cider to go. "I got reg'lar cider I could heat up," the barkeep says. "It'll take a while."

Beech remains in the back yard.

Sahabiel realizes that something is probably amiss downstairs. She offers to pass along a message, but the bouncer shakes his head. "Just leave, please," he says. "Let us handle it."

Flanked, Zazu can't cast or shoot without provoking an AoO. He calls Boyo over to the fight. The bunny hops over and bites at one of the foes flanking Zazu, so that the master and familiar are flanking him.

Zazu draws a dager and pokes at the one Boyo has moved to flank.

Boyo attacks AC16 for 3 damage.
Zazu attacks AC 20 for 2 plus 6 sneak attack damage for 8 total.

Panzer wants to slash at the archer when he moves to try and get help but finds he is not able to. Instead he attacks with all he has to stop the archer from fleeing.

He yells out "Stop the runner!!"

Although the thought has occurred to Sahabiel that she could probably knock this man out if she had to, it does not feel like a meaningful option as this has stopped being a quick in and out, and for how much time she'd need now, someone else would be around to soon after this one. If her companions are stuck in the den of thieves, then it would not help them if she got herself in trouble with the authorities.

So instead she returns to the bar, and even without the bouncer giving her a message to pass on, she softly speaks to the barkeep; "I ran into one of yer men checking up on the kitchen after that tremor. There was dust filtering up from the cellar and he was calling for yer other guy Hal that's apparently nowhere to be seen? If there's been an accident - I'm trained to treat field injuries."

She hangs around near the bar to make sure she'll catch anything the bouncer gone to check in the kitchen might have to say when he comes back.

Zazu calls Boyo over, and together they attack the wounded halfling, doing a bit more damage. [Can you please find a Boyo token and add him to the map?]

Panzer kills the archer with two blows, then yells for somebody to stop him, which--you know--mission accomplished.

Ash casts Touch of Fatigue, and uses the spectral hand to deliver it to Silken. She fails her save.

Lothlo fires two shots at the unwounded halfling, hitting once.

Naithi and Camalayas take advantage of the grapple to damage Silken. The bardic rogue is bloody but still moving.

This time, Silken is able to wiggle out of Camalayas's grasp [Escape Artist 22]. She takes a 5-foot step back.

The two halflings shift their position a bit and resume their attacks on Zazu. One of them hits, and Zazu takes 17 damage.

In the common room, Nightingale says that a cold cider would be fine, and the barkeep turns to get it.

Beech stays alert behind the tavern.

Sahabiel returns to the bar and gives a report to the barkeep. "Thank you, Miss, I'll keep it in mind," he says, without a lot of enthusiasm. "What can I get you?"

Seeing Zazu drop, Naithi quickly casts stabilize on him. Unfortunately she has no having spells on her, so this will have to do.

As Silken backs up Camalayas charges in for another attack and grapples the booted girl again. Camalayas, Naithi, and even the little guard dog look down at her, making their feelings clear.

Nightingale will see if she can get Sahabiel's attention, and that of Beech as she walks out with her cider in hand. She knows around the area that Ena was located. She wants to look at the lay of the land and try to figure out where the entrance from the "other" side might be, if one entrance was under the tavern. Once the other girls are close, she'll tell them her idea, "There's got to be an entrance or exit to where our friends are, maybe we can find it and help them from this end."

Sahabiel will join the others shortly, but first will wait to hear if and how the bouncer that went to check on the cellar is going to report to the owner. She orders one of the lighter ales the pub stocks, as it will be her second mug tonight and with the kitchen in disarray, she can't order food with it -- and this is not the time to allow herself to get light-headed.

(If the bouncer does not return and nobody delays her by holding her to her earlier arm wrestling challenge, Sahabiel eventually leaves the pub through the front door and makes her rendezvous with Beech and Nightingale)

Boyo tries to act intimidating. He does not succeed. Zazu drops, unconscious, from his injuries.

Naithi casts Stabilize, then Camalayas attacks again. [Please remember to move your token on the map when your character moves.] Silken is again grappled.

Ash uses her Spectral Hand to cast a cure spell on Zazu.

Panzer attacks one of the halflings. Only the bite attack hits, but the halfling is starting to look hurt.

Lothlo fires two shots at the other halfling, hitting twice. Now that halfling is also looking hurt.

Silken again wriggles free of the grapple and takes a step back.

The halflings each take a 5-foot step out of melee. Each one then pulls out a potion and drinks it. Some of their wounds close up a little.

[OOC: The actions of the group underground are in combat rounds. I've been trying to keep the actions of the group above in combat rounds, too, but I've realized that's unrealistic. You guys shouldn't be limited to six-second slices of time. So, the group above is going to be moving faster than the group below. I need everyone to remember that the two groups are no longer on the same timeline. I'll do the best I can to try to match things up at key moments. I finally saw Dunkirk the other day, and if Christopher Nolan can manage three different timelines, surely I can manage two.]

Nightingale gets her cider. "If you're gonna take it out back," the barkeep says, "I gotta charge you for the mug. You bring it back, you get the money back." Assuming that is acceptable, Nightingale can go around back and meet up with Beech.

Beech reports that Panzer had already checked out here for another entrance without finding one. Just at that moment, the back door of the tavern opens, and the bouncer steps out. He looks around with a frown. "Hey!" he calls. "Have you seen anything of a halfling guy?"

Sahabiel, for now, stays in the common room, hoping to overhear the bouncer's report when he returns. She orders a lighter ale, and receives it.

Zazu fires a Scorching Ray at Silken. It hits, and does damage, but the Probability Gods are in a whimsical mood, so it doesn't do much. She is looking pretty hurt, though.

Panzer renews his assault on the halfling. The halfling had healed himself, but not enough. Panzer takes him down. As he falls, Ash tries to attack him with Touch of Fatigue, but misses, what with him being on the ground and all.

Lothlo fires twice at the other halfling, hitting once.

Camalayas again moves without moving, and she and Naithi attack. [You should have the correct permissions to move your token on the map. Please let me know if you do not have permission, or if you are unsure how to move your token on the map.] Camalayas succeeds at the grapple.

Silken again breaks free, but this time Naithi is there to grab her again.

The remaining halfling moves toward the open door. He uses Acrobatics to avoid an Attack of Opportunity from Camalayas. [Naithi is grappling and therefore can't take AoOs]

Naithi struggles to keep Silken pinned down, so Camalayas uses her claws to help pin the shoulders. If the check succeeds Naithi will pin Silken.

Naithi grapple check beats CMD 18... Unless Zazu or Boyo can be considered as flanking. If they are Naithi's check would be 20. It would also mean their grapple checks got a flanking bonus making her final grapple check beating CMD 24.

Grapple check = 18 or 24 to pin Silken.

Beech, while the guard is down the path, brushes out the lone he drew behind the illusion and brushes over most of the tracks, a lot of them his own. He'll then quietly suggest they head off towards the nearest building "behind" the bar and see if it's where the reserve entrance is to the rogue's den.

Ash attempts another Touch of Fatigue, but her aim is off.

Panzer attacks the fleeing halfling, killing him.

Between Zazu, Naithi, Camalayas, and Boyo, Silken is pinned. Lothlo is ready with an arrow should she wriggle free, but that seems unlikely.

We are out of combat.

Behind the tavern, Beech takes advantage of the bouncer's absence to erase his tracks. He heads toward the nearest buildings--which honestly aren't that close by. On the way, he stumbles across an area where the ground seems to have sunk quite recently. It's perhaps not quite deep enough to be called a sinkhole, but there is definitely a marked depression here.

In the common room, Sahabiel's patience is at last rewarded when the bouncer comes back in, beckons to the barkeep/owner and speaks to him in a low voice.

Scattered grumbles greet this announcement. At the door, a group just coming in turns and goes out again. Many people begin gathering their things and leaving; a few come to the bar to order one last round before departing.

Beech, examines the fresh sink hole, and if he figures its like only a couple minutes fresh, he'll put two and two together and come up with where the dust from the trap door came from. He will then guesstimate the direction back to the tavern, and head further away, keeping a lookout for building or a cave or anything that could conceal an entrance.
Here's hoping a Liontaur counts as cavalry when things get desperate....

Ash brings out the CLW wand and starts tapping the party like a woodpecker against a tree.

Once done she turns her attention back to Ena to see if the girl had stirred at all from the sound of the combat. "I think she's either drugged or enchanted in some way" She lets the party know.

Zazu cast Message to have a private conversation with the people in the party (Not Silken).

"The first question we gotta ask is this: Do we have to go to the local constabulary? Surely kidnapping and drugging people serving the Council is against the law. The second question is whether we want to take Silken somewhere and use charm spells to make her friendly enough to talk. Is that ethical? Do we care?"

"Does this town even HAVE a police force? Courts? Laws? I'm afraid I do not even know! But one thing I do know -- as managers of a new community, we can't be doing illegal stuff ourselves."

Naithi takes her time young Silken up (Take 20) to ensure the job is done well. She is every through in her examination of captive, removing all weapons, tools, etc as well as anything that could be a makeshift weapon or tool. This includes jewelry, hair pins, suspicious buckles or buttons, etc. She even removes the woman's boots to help slow her down. Naithi uses both rope and chain to tie Silken up and makes sure the ties are out of reach of her fingers and that the chain and rope are secured on opposite sides of her body (making it harder to hide trying to undo them ).

(ooc: trying to stay as close to combat time as possible. I think Beech's illusory hiding spot near the privies is still up?)

Once she has left the pub in the flow of other departing clientele, Sahabiel makes her way around the pub and looks around for Beech along the path behind it where she last saw him. They are going to have to improvise a plan while their companions underground have a chance to benefit from it. If only they knew of any other entrances into what lay beneath their feet...

If there is another way out of here, it's a safe bet that as soon as the people upstairs see that the main door is blocked they will head for the other door. It would be best if we found a way out before anyone else comes looking for us.

Ash pulls out a Wand of Cure Light Wounds and gets to tapping. You let the party know that Ena has been drugged. You find that, with persistence, you can rouse her to a groggy semi-conscious state, but you have to keep after her or she falls back asleep.

At Panzer's urging, Naithi ties up Silken. She is very, very tied up. She will not be escaping.

Zazu asks the group what to do next.

Lothlo begins looking for an alternate exit, so let's review the geography.

You got here through a secret passage in the basement of the Blue Shutters. The passage led directly into this room, through a doorway, but with no door. Once you were in here, the doorway collapsed. You do not know how far back down the passage the collapsed area goes. It seems pretty well blocked, though.

Opposite that collapsed doorway is a closed door. This is the door the archer tried to escape through. He had opened it; you guys closed it again. Nobody asked, but I will tell you that the door leads to a short hallway with another door at the other end.

Lothlo's explorations do not turn up another door. There were two ways into and out of this room; now there is only one--and that route is unexplored. Silken did say that every thief in the Guild was between you and the exit.

Up above, Nightingale denies knowing where Hal went. The bouncer seems to believe you, and after a cursory search, he goes back inside.

Beech realizes what he's looking at--a collapse, and probably the source of the noise and dust. It does seem to be in a straight line from the building. You begin looking for a possible exit location. You see a few lights a few hundred feet ahead. It looks like a group of small houses, though it's hard to be sure in the dark.

Sahabiel and Nightingale catch up with Beech, so now the three of you are together.

"You all need use of you hands more than I do should we find trouble. Well, WHEN we find trouble. I'll keep Ena propped up if you want to lead the way". Ash will position Ena by her side and sling one of Ena's arms around her neck. In this manner, Ash doesn't have a hand free to do anything, but should have a good way to help steer the groggy woman.

Zazu says, "Wait! There must be a better answer. We need to connect with Sahabiel and Nightingale and Beech! We need to get Ena to the healers. We need to bring Silken to the constables. Is there no way back? How far underground are we? Can we dig out?"

"We can barricade the doors, rest, and summon a wolverine or two tomorrow. They are great at digging."

Panzer actually made a 21 (natural 20) perception check and looked out the door before he closed it.

Panzer hears Zazu, then the others, whispering and he whispers back.
" Though the thieves guild has no morals, we do. We will maintain them so that we do not become like the guild."
He then says " This IS survival though. I am perfectly willing to use Silken as a hostage to get us all out of here. This is a fairly large settlement, with a ruling council. Surely they have a constabulary force. Finally, if you think a couple of wolverines, or even earth elementals, are going to dig THAT out in half a minute then you are very mistaken with how fast they can dig. We need to go out the doorway and follow the hall to its conclusion. Besides, that is loose dirt, it will continue to collapse in as we dig and I have no timber on me to keep it from doing so."
He looks at Silken and asks her, " If I remove your gag are you going to answer some questions or are we doing this the hard way? I wasn't kidding about killing every guild member I encounter. You can save them or condemn them. Which will it be?"

Once the three are together, Nightingale will mention, "Our friends are under us somewhere. There must be an exit or entrance point this way. Beech do you happen to know what part of town we are heading towards?"

Beech almost laughs.... "It's the so called city, I was here for all of a few hours once before, so, nope, not a clue. That shallow spot, was a fresh collapse, so I expect it was planned. That being said, those buildings over there might have probably have a few ways into the tunnels, most of them, I doubt have ever been used.
So, just keep an eye out for people being worried about us wandering in the area, and listen for our friends, they may being a lot of noise."

He will then lead the way towards the group of buildings, looking for anything strange... Like a lot of people going in or out of a not so big building....

"It is vexing", Sahabiel concedes softly as she tries to keep up with the other two, "We have proof now that the Emissary is held underground right here in town, and we have confirmed the existence of a passage into this rumored Den of Thieves.. and yet with all that, nobody comes to mind who might be of any use to bring those findings to, and that I'd know where to find at this hour."

If we bring Ena to where the vote is being held I think it will prevent the problems with the vote.
I'm not sure we have a lot of choices here. We can either head through the door ourselves, or wait for someone to come to us... and the longer we wait it's safe to say the more people will be coming to find us.
I'm not sure I would even trust Silken as a human shield, it might be best if we just grab any extra weapons we can and make a run for it.

Ash prepares to drag Ena along in the time-honored "my friend here had too much to drink" method. Because you are human, and Ena is an elf, you find that you can support her weight pretty easily.

Zazu is anxious to reach the others, and the constables, and wonders about digging out of here. He also asks about healing, perhaps unaware that Ash already healed him with her wand.

Panzer is not optimistic, and points out that the loose soil will just collapse again. He favors going out the door, and possibly using Silken as a bargaining chip.

Naithi isn't sure whether it's possible to dig out, but she knows it isn't possible to dig out in a hurry.

Lothlo points out that you really ought to try to bring Ena to the vote. Your DM reminds you that the vote is less than 12 hours away; you really don't have time to dig out.

Up above, Nightingale, Beech, and Sahabiel head for the cluster of buildings. Sahabiel laments that you don't have anybody to bring this information to at this hour. Will there be time in the morning? It's hard to say.

You arrive at the cluster of buildings. They are small, nondescript houses. All appear to be residences; you don't see any businesses. Most houses still have lights on inside, although it is getting late.

Ash is in agreement with Lothlo. "Perhaps we should push on. They could be bringing in reinforcements to block our escape, and we don't have much time before the vote." Ash shuffles around a bit to get a better grip of Ena. "I'm not sure what sort of shape she'll be in, but even if the council just see her they might delay the vote"

Ash nods towards the bodies and equipment. "Were there any clues in their gear? Any items we should take with us?"

Panzer starts asking questions of Silken. He is not normally very perceptive, and to hide this and any expressions he may make at her responses, He casts detect magic and starts looting the bodies.
46% so OK on spell failure
Magic or not he takes all 3 quivers from the bowmen and hands them to Lothlo. The marksman is going to need them Panzer is afraid. Besides that he takes anything that shows up as magical.
On to Silken
" Why kidnap the proxy to the councilor? What vote did you want swayed?"
"What lies down the hallway here? How many of your guildmates will I need to kill to exit your underground sanctuary?"
"Do you have any value to them or do I free up my off hand now by killing you instead of dragging you along behind me? Seriously, you planned on there being a fight here, so I assume that you aren't an idiot and that you brought your best fighters along with you. They are all dead now so what chance does the rest of your guild have against us?"
Panzer assumes no such thing. He is well aware that she is a very calculating and ruthless opponent and that she probably has quite a number of skilled fighters between here and the door, he wants to see what she says though. He knows this because of what the others have said about her and the fact that Galen is afraid of her and the guild. The Galen he knows isn't fearless, but he stood against the Green Tyrant and isn't a fool.
" What did you give to Ena and when will it wear off?"
" Anyone else have any questions?"

If Silken stops being cooperative, Panzer just puts the gag back in her mouth and prepares to run the gauntlet.
Unless someone else has a better plan, Panzer plans to drag Silken behind him. They will likely need to open every door and at least look into the room beyond to find the way out. He figures as long as they can keep the fights quiet and small they stand a chance of fighting their way out. It'll likely burn up his healing wand as they will need a fair bit of healing, but that's a small price to pay for survival.

If every thief in the Guild is between us and the exit, they may not be in the hallway. After all, we didn't see anyone and nobody came to assist during the fight. It's possible that we are going to pop out inside wherever the thieves guild calls home. If the bar was associated with the guild, it would make sense if they had a passage they could use to secretly meet up with people. Not that it makes a huge difference where we face them, if they are waiting for us we are in for a rough time either way.

Lothlo tries to remember if he's heard rumors of where the actual Thieves Guild members would be found, and if so try to determine what kind of place they might be exiting the hall into.

Sahabiel is also paying close attention... "We have one thing on our side at least", she says to Beech and Nightingale. "If the Den of Thieves is underground and they more or less sealed the entrance under the pub just earlier, then they need at least some access or at least a ventilation shaft for fresh air around here. With night falling we might see it by a plume of condensed vapour.. or a chimney giving the smoke of more fires than one of these houses should have."
