All is well, there are no problems, and everything has been resolved satisfactorily The people are not hungry or thirsty, everybody is in good health, and morale is high. Your recent interventions have had the desired results, and you can rest assured that your good works are bearing the best fruit that can be expected.
More generally, you find yourselves in a delightful period of peace and prosperity here at home as well. Life is good. It is an excellent time to work on hobbies and crafts, train and volunteer and start a business, relax and take in a good play.

He spends some time out checking on the progress of the arboretum while he has the luxury. He catches up with other residents, feeling much more at home than he did on their initial return. He makes a specific point of checking up on Wizbang and Liliput. He pitches in where he can - seeking out opportunities. He takes flight in wide arcs around The Tree surveying The Tree itself, surrounding land and sky, etc.

Trellus gets to know the people in the community by donating manual labor. One old lady needs help cleaning out her house, moving furniture, and lifting. A team of carpenters are glad to have a strong back helping to take down the bleachers and temporary structures after the tournament.
Elyngael and Brawn show Trellus the sights.
Armand spends his time in scholarly pursuits. A cute librarian is very helpful and invites Armand to lunch.
'Osul pursues spiritual pursuits. He finds his meditations returning, again and again, to the Culverwood that he reveres.
He also checks on Wizbang and Liliput. [OOC: remind your poor new DMs who those are? Wasn't Wizbang an awakened tarsier?]
'Osul wants to try out assuming dragon shape. Where does he do so, and with what witnesses / spotters?
Moridark studies and spends time with the local kids for breaks. The word spreads, and he finds a gang of pre-teens hanging outside his windows, singing songs when they are tired of waiting. "Who can take a rainbow ..."
Neshi delves into his spiritual and fey leanings. He too has thoughts about forests, even when that wasn't exactly what he had imagined.
Moridark secludes himself with arcane research.

(Wiz-Bang is indeed an Awakened Tarsier. I introduced him as an NPC, in the first module I wrote (monkey business), back when I was DMing in Tree. Personally I fell in love with the little guy, and so decided to use him as my Catacombs salesperson, when I joined the staff there. He lives in what looks like a fairy house way up on top of the Tree, at the peak of it's canopy. Wiz-Bang is a Druid/Green Mage.)
Grindar takes to walking about the Tree, getting to know his new home, and his new neighbors. He finds himself particularly interested in the Tree itself, and prepares Speak with Plants so he can have a conversation with Deeproot.

Elyngael tells Trellus, "Not long. I guess, well I've been here for a few of their adventures. We met up going to Plateau City to take care of a criminal that was assassinated in jail. Then things sort of got all weird and we were whisked into the Sargrass and had to work with a bunch of other heroes. We saw the birth of a god." She will otherwise start patrolling the caravan routes to make sure there's no pitfalls, or lurking thieves.

He lets The Wood guide him (as an air elemental) to a suitable place, at which point he scans for why this particular location. I've heard that an ent grove dwells in the heart of the Culverwood, and that is where you are from, and I was wondering if these two amazing groves are related in anyway?"

'Osul goes out on his own, alone and without back-up, into a magical forest. He finds a wooden cage hanging from a tree, high above the ground. Inside the cage is a male half-orc, looking to be in bad health.
Neshi finds that the Tree of Parting community is, at least for now, enjoying a bout of prosperity. No controversies, no dangers, and most everybody is prospering. After recent events, most people are happy to be enjoying a bit of peace.
Grindar speaks with a well-known tree. But it is ... for want of any better way to put it, sleeping. The only communications he can receive are disjointed. Something about "going deeper" and "the heart of the forest." This is definitely unusual.
Rica is pleased to hear that the books Armand seeks are ones that she has connections to obtain. She explains that she is a great reader, and would be very pleased to help. "I know some people who know some people," she says. "And I always enjoy getting to know people." She suggests that she will have news ... maybe over dinner tomorrow night?
Elyngael works hard to make sure that travellers are safe in the area, but really, the environs of the Tree are safer than they have been for years, one of the merchants tells her. "No doubt do to all the good works of you and your friends here."
Moridark learns more and more about the area. Indeed, with the refreshed and newfound lore he packs into his head, he gains a one-time boon from the DM: A nat 20 on any one Knowledge Local check, if you make it before you depart on the next module.
All this peace and prosperity makes Trellus think about a hobby. Maybe weaving. Well, there are definitely weavers in the community.

If it is clear then he introduces himself as a Warden of The Tree of Parting and Druid of The Culverwood. After another closer check on his health, demeanour and appearance, with forewarning he casts Heal on the half-orc{Heal(assess):42, Sense Motive:50, Perception:53}.
He hopes to get their name, but either way he asks how he ended up here. If the story is suitably intriguing he will offer to take him back to The Tree.

'Osul heals the half-orc and interrogate's him. This person turns out to be a brigand and thief. He claims he never murdered anybody. "A Gentleman Robber, I am, sir. Karl Marimy, at your service." He was captured by druids dressed in black, who left him high up suspended as a sacrifice. He is so grateful to be saved. What does 'Osul do with him?
Grindar is confused, and reports back to his friends. But in his heart, he feels that something of those ramblings resonates with ... with ... mostl;y forgotten dreams that he can't remember, now.
Armand finds that Rica is a wonderful dinner conversationalist, not only fascinated by tales of the Wardens, but also ready with her own funny stories of her time spent in Plateau City. Mostly those poke gentle fun at herself, country girl in the big city. Whether that's true or not, it seems that her bookseller contacts in Plat City are legit, and she can help arrange the sale of all but the most rare manuscripts.
Elyngael tells Grindar some of her own tales of Deeproot. They point to the possibility that when he sleeps, he is communing with the Wood.
Trellus takes weaving lessons.
Neshi makes a quick trip to the capital of the Emerald Kingdom. He hears rumors of trouble with the local Thieves Guild acting out. And his old friend confides in him that he has been sleeping poorly, plagued by nightmares. Otherwise it is a nice visit.
Moridark continues his outreach, hoping to be a part of this community. As people warm to him, he hears rumors of people having nightmares.

'Osul senses that the half-orc is sincere in his thanks, but that he is trying to put as nice a gloss on his thiefly activities as possible. He does not get the sense that the fellow is a murderer, but he certainly specializes in taking things away from nice people who do not want to part with their goods.
"Oh, please, I have no desire to stay in these woods," he says. "I'm happy to tell my story and then be on my way. I would have died but for you, good sir."
Grindar puzzles over the sleepy words of the sleepy seer. How odd that he was barely awake. Is the fellow ill? Cursed? Hung over? Grindar shares his reservations Elyngael.
But she seems too busy checking on Miles to spend any time on the issue.
Armand reassures the book specialist that his needs are not out of the ordinary. "Well in that case," Rica says, "I'm happy to help out. What's your budget and timetable, oh patron of the literate arts?" She winks and smiles.
Elyngael determines that the training is going just fine.
Trellus continues his study of the textile arts. He is definitely getting better!
Moridark finds that many people are having strange dreams about the forest. Those who sleep in the Tree of Parting itself are most likely to report vague nightmares. Wandering in dark woods. A danger coming.
Yurr'Neshi finds that the Tree community is doing fine. People are happy. Workers are busy, Commerce is prosperous. But a few people seem run down, tired, as if they are not sleeping well.

With the rest of the Wardens assembled, Grindar listens with concern to the reports of nightmares and such, and shares his findings. "I wonder if Deeproot is suffering from a similar ailment, or perhaps he is somehow causing the bad dreams. Not on purpose obviously, but he mumbled "going deeper" and "the heart of the forest.", and I can't seem to get this out of my head. Now this Karl fellow is saying that he was left to die, in a cage, by some dark druids? Normally I would consider someone who has spent his life robbing others, nothing but a whitehand, with no shade to them at all, and dismiss them outright, but somehow I feel his words weave true, and we should listen to his story."

Grindar shares his puzzlement with the party.
'Osul suggests to him that dinner tonight will be a good time for everyone to get together and talk.

Armand gets everything ready for building that library, and he fees confident that leaving the project in Rica's hands is the right thing to do. She kisses Armand on the cheek for a fare well and says, "Don't worry, this will be great." Armand returns to the Tree for the party dinner.
A little adrift, Elyngael is hanging at HQ and is the first to get an invite to the party dinner.
Yurr'Neshi dismisses these slightly odd omens as nothing to worry about. Will he think the same after everyomne compares notes at the party tonight?
Trellus joins the dinner party and keeps his own council.
Moridark too shares his findings at the dinner.
At the dinner, you share your portends. The troubled dreams. The hints that something is up. A lesser group would not have caught these hints, much less connected the dots. Perhaps a few avenues of exploration will suggest themselves.
Certainly the half-orc's take is troubling. Druids dressed in black, kidnapping a thief, hanging him in a tree to die of exposure and thirst, as a sacrifice. Are these related -- the dreams and the intended sacrificial murder?
What do you do with the half-orc? He is definitely a thief, though likely not a murderer.
A bit more disturbed and even more perplexed by the relevations of comrades, Neshi thinks for a bit and as Armand speaks of a dream place, something tweaks a bit of knowledge that has Neshi's nerves on end. subconciously his tail starts twitching from side to side just a bit as he pours over this tidbit of knowledge.
Armand? There is a place? I wouldn't necessarily say a place dreams though. More like a place of nightmares. It was originally created by ... some god or other, I cant remember (religion DC5). And I can't remember why.... (knowledge history DC15). It's not really part of the Wold though, more of a realm or pockent universe, so I don't know...
His tail is now almost working into a frenzy.
I remember my father going on about the place and how bad the place was. Apparently he had a number of friends who died there. I had never seen my father soshaken and terrified by anything....

Moridark ponders the "criminal", "If no laws have been broken, then I do not know if we can hold him. Although, if he does break any laws we can certainly hunt him down and turn him over to the authorities. We should not be judge, jury, and executioner." The mage takes a few minutes to run down his knowledge on dreams, planes, and creatures in an attempt to discern what may be causing the nightmares.
