The party decides to head directly to the warehouse district and Gaffer masterfully turns the wagon down Front street. The street runs along the outer wall of Karri with smaller streets shooting in towards the heart of the Emerald Kingdom capital. There is one other wagon in front of you, nearly 200' and the next wagon that might come up behind you is going to be at least 10 minutes back. The merchants without wagons all stayed on Main Fair Lane, which leads directly into the market square.
Perception DC 20 Highlight to display spoiler: {The wall seems to have patrols of 2's moving along, though they rarely if ever are looking into the city, but they would surely react to a commotion}
Front street makes a slight angle and soon empties through a double wagon wide natural tree like walled area. the opening is unmanned and gives you the impression is to hide the more unsightly utilitarian buildings of the warehouses within over anything else.
The warehouse area looks to consist of nearly 20 low wide rectangular buildings. As you make the first turn to head towards he specific building Parsons directed you at, you can easily see that not all of the buildings have guard. In fact most do not. Parsons clearly stated the writ was needed at the building and so it is a certainty that the warehouse you are headed towards does. The wagon will be making the final corner in less than 5 minutes...
Desdichado stays alert as they enter the square. "Patrols up top," he mutters, "they aren't paying attention down here right now, but those could be trouble once the fighting starts."
He really wishes the group had a plan other than "whack at the bad guys" right now.

Ramirez nods to Des' comment about the patrols without looking up. There's not much we can do about it except show proof after. We just need to be cautious to limit the damage to the enemy and not hit any bystanders or charmed help. On the plus side, we should have a chance to take them by surprise.

Gaffer keeps his eyes on the road, though with Hmerrin in front the wagon doesn't require too much from him. He speaks gently to the others "If someone does want to invisibly look ahead, we have space on the road to slow the carts roll."

The group rolls up on the warehouse and can see 4 elf in half plate standing, for the most part, at attention about 5' from a large set of double doors designed to allow a large wagon to enter.
Gaffer pulls the wagon to a stop and 2 of the elf guard approach, the first stopping about 5' back and to the side of the horse team and the other walking up to Gaffer's side. He asks for, and Gaffer supplies the writ. The guard takes 2 steps back and begins examining the document. About 2 minutes later he looks up and steps forward to hand the writ back to Gaffer. "Hold here while we get the doors open."
He turns and points his hand towards the main doors and gives a nod to the 2 men furthest back, who turn and step through a small door inset to the main ones.
About 1 minute later the main doors open, by sliding on rails to the left and right. The area beyond appears to be a loading and unloading area. Barrels, crates, horse tack and saddlery equipment is stacked and lined up. The two elf reappear and wave Gaffer and rest in.

Once inside, he climbs down and takes a moment to still the horses, patting Hmerrihorse and saying as if calming the creature, "Just remember boy, if you want to move about, stamp your feet a little instead."
He'll then move towards the back of the wagon to start unloading, looking to his companions for any leads to act otherwise.

Desdichado feels a bit uneasy as the group enters the warehouse. Completely surrounded, and in unknown territory, this seems like a perfect way for the rakshasa to ambush the group.

Gaffer pulls the the wagon through and sees a table and 8 chairs off to the right side and two more elf guard heading over Des looks about and spies an interior door about 35' to the right, past the table. Danko climbs off the wagon and starts looking about for hiding places and there are scores of them among the crates and gear. Right now, the guard are very much directly watching him The Veil spell remains in place.
The guard are not wearing the city watch uniform, which is not surprising as the city watch would not usually be deployed for a private business. The pair that opened the door to let you in start to close it.
The original pair, remain outside and don't seem to be paying attention to the interior of the building.
Two more elf get up from the table inside and start walking over towards the wagon. Their demenor seems more sour than any of the others. Perhaps it is just that they are not looking forward to unloading several thousand pounds of goods, or perhaps it is more.

Hmerrin makes the door and sees the elf moving through another door just to the left. The larger room Hmerrin is in, is a long 25' wide passage. A 10' wide path goes down the center out of sight into the darkness. Ramirez hists the area near the Rakshasa's last position with a GlitterDust spell. The Rakshasa is outlined. Des is alos caught in the spell and has no issue overcoming the blindness Danko casts Mirror Image "Two Down."
The Rakshasa replies to Danko, "Oh worry not there are plenty of more innocents under our influence for you to kill!"
Gaffer casts Finger of Death and the spell tears into the evil creature, stealing its bravado Hmerrin steps back through the doorway Cannot diagonal through a door space, halbred at the ready from what might be coming Nira flies up and scans the area.
Waiting on the creature to be made visible, Des steps up and strikes. Giving Des a readied attack to step and strike. Please roll and assure you hit AC 31.

Last Round... Des strikes the retreating Rakshasa but is unable to kill him. The creature steps back and casts Slow. THe spell dimisses the Haste spell on Nira, Danko, Gaffer and Ramirez. Des overcomes the spell and is not slowed.
Round 4... Danko waits on the next group of attackers Nira casts Ray of Frost, but misses Gaffer heads over to Hmerrin in case the fighter wants to go deeper Hmerrin calls out that so far the building is clear Ramirez draws his bow and fires an arrow, striking the Rakshasa, but the shaft inflicts no damage
With nowhere to go the Rakshasa draws a Kukri blade and defends itself to the best of its ability

Des manages to get past the Rakshasa's defences, but the blow does not seem to harm the creature, like Ramirez's arrow from seconds ago. Danko moves out and around from the back side of the wagon and sends what seems to be an impossible number of scorching rays, but even more impossible, is that all of them miss Nira Casts a Magic Circle from Evil anticipating more opponents soon Hmerrin also now closes on the Rakshasa with his Halbred, specifically built to kill them, but misses Ramirez shifts tactics himself and starts an inspiring tale, lending magical courage to his companions
The Rakshasa is hard pressed, but maintians his completely defensive nature. Spinning, twisting and parrying to keep inches ahead of the blades and magic aimed at it
Suddenly across the room, firey rays erupt as a small contingent of Rakshasa appears out of nowhere. A total of 8, lance in at Ramirez. This appears to be a small, white-washed Entry Room with a closet to the left and right. The closets have a dozen cloaks, some more worn than others, and pegs for several more.

Desdichado is ready to move to the next door, but Danko wants to ensure whatever they are doing can take longer than 10 minutes. Mister Pureheart is also... suspicious. He casts detect magic on the room, but the only things that light up are The Tide themselves: not even a tingle on his Roguey-Sense.
Hmerrin is also suspicious of this room. He ensures Danko has the time to cast, and also retrieves a crowbar from his haversack, and jams it into the door so as to keep it open. (ooc: nice fix!) To ensure it is a good fit, it takes a minute to look it over and set the crowbar properly. (OOC: 10 rounds pass [1 minute])
Ramirez observes that another spell would open it if it does take too long.

Spiked door and a set of detection spells make the room as reasonably safe as The Tide can think of to manage. There is really nothing else to do than to open the next door, and since Desdichado was all ready to make that move anyways...
The inner door opens with no problems, and reveals what appears to be a common living area. A sofa and a couple of chairs are upholstered in leather of a dubious nature, and accented with a Liontaur throw-rug and trophies of Minotaur heads lining the walls. There is a table-setting for two, and a burgundy liquid in a crystal decanter, unstoppered. There doesn't appear to be anything else in the room.
There are three other doors from this room, all looking the same: two on the opposite wall and one to the right.

Nira, Danko, and Desdichado note the smells of the room as well. The unstoppered decanter, perhaps surprisingly, holds a fruity elvish wine and not something vile. Of the two doors in the far wall, the left one has obvious meal preparation smells nearby, and the one on the right has an odor of chamomile and incense.
No one can detect any other presence in the room.

The lingering odor of chamomile and incense perfume what is obviously a Rakshasa boudoir (i.e. bedroom). There is a (real) stuffed unicorn as lounge pillow, with assorted other pillows and rugs, but nothing else and no one else here. (Sense Motive DC24 Highlight to display spoiler: { There are not even any prized possessions or items of wealth in the room as The Tide have seen in past Rakshasa lairs. Either this is the lair of a most unusual Rakshasa, or there is a treasure vault somewhere else. Perhaps the third door? }
With nothing of interest in the boudoir, Gaffer can satisfy his curiosity by opening the kitchen door. Here is, in fact, a kitchen, and there is an open larder in the back. Yeah… don’t ask… it’s awful. The only good news is the druid has confirmed there is nothing still living in the room.
Both far-side doors explored, and no tingles of a Secret or Concealed door, the only obvious way for the heroes is the door without smells to the right.

He cannot target throught the Wall of Force Until the wall comes down there is little to do. Des does not use his Aura of Justice Gaffer moves into the room, though he cannot target the Rakshasas through the Wall of Force. He manages to stave off the worst of the spell wrapped about this place. Gaffer Dmg 41 you saved so 20

" So, I have a little spell called Dimensional Anchor, that would stop one of them from poofing away. Next time we get into this kind of situation... how about I try to anchor one down and then seal off the passage way again... if they poof out... one of their buddies gets whacked. If it works, we do the same again at the next stage.... rinse and repeat as needed... or at least as long as the spells last.

Wounding the Raksahsa deeply Danko casts Wall of Force and cuts off the large and 2 other Rakshasa Hmerrin joins Des and attacks the other Rakshasa killing him Nira falls back and Heals herself Ramirez casts Haste on the group except Gaffer as the druid is too far fomr Hmerrin and Des Gaffer starts to Summon additional allies, but the spell is shut down even as it starts. The Forbiddance preventing it from succeeding.
Facing off against Des and Hmerrin, the Rakshasa panics and casts a spell and vanishes, again.

His axe clips the Rakshasa Nira obligues Des and casts Glitterdust The invisble Rakshasa appears and the reaction from him and another (e7) reveal they are blind as well Danko create a Wall of Fire across the short gap. The opaque wall cuts off all sight Gaffer, left with only 1 target, casts Baleful Polymorph but does not overcome the creatures resistance to magic.
The Rakshsa do not leap through the wall, nor do they cry out from the sudden eruption of flame.
The blind Rakshasa on your side has little in the way of options. With Kukri in one hand, his other raises before him and he appears to be sweeping the room. Des Will Save 21

Ram jumps in to heal Dez, but it means Nira can't get to him with one of her uber-heals. She instead moves to get in position to cure Hmerrin's blindness.

The Large Rakshasa strikes hard at Des. The first punch cracks ribs, the second spins the paladin about with a spray of blood from a torn jaw. A third sends a nother loud crack through the room and the paladins spine breaks. The Rakshasa appears to plan to finish him comepletely with his fangs, but instead pauses with a smile, "So much for the vaunted might of Domi. Pretender to power." Des falls away and hits the floor hard. Hmerrin sees none of this, but his ears tell the story of what just happened. He backs off and drinks a potion Danko puts up another Wall of Force breaking combat Ramirez rushes up to Des and casts a curing spell. Des is still inconscious Des fell to -18 HP, healed for 8 by Ramirez. Des is stable Nira moves to get a line of sight on Hmerrin and Casts Dispel Magic and succeeds and dispelling the Blindness

On the bright side, we killed 5 Raks and from what we can tell, there's three left, including the big ugly one. My big battle spells won't do much against their spell resistence. But, I'm always up for shenanigans, even the suicidal ones.

Ramirez begins inspiring the others and lets several shots fly at the Larger Rakshasa Nira Casts a couple of Dispel Magic at the Large Rakshasa. Des moves in and attacks, hitting hard. Des has a Stoneskin spell Hmerrin launches into the air and goes after the big Rakshasa, Gaffer casts a spell at the Large Rakshasa, but it appears to have had no effect Danko breathes fortha blast of Lightning, trying to catch the large Rakshasa and he is able to, because the Rakshasa is large, otherwise Des or Hmerrin would be in way. The Rakshasa pivots and most of it goes past and what strikes, does not seem to have any affect. The Rakshasa somehow still fights himself to a sitting position. Mortal wounds pouring out his lifeblood about him. "A temporary set back for me, but with this failure." The Rakshsa's last words trouble some and confuse others. Golden Eyes, the bane of the CMTC and up to now, the head of the Rakshasa threat, may actually not be the leader. But one thing is clear, The Rakshsa portraying himself as Greenleaf, who held his own against the entire group, is almost certainly not as powerful as Golden Eyes. The Rakshasa operate through the concept of Power is position. Danko takes a few moments and liberates the valuables: Gaffer checks the door again, but still hears no commotion

The inner door is examined and found not to be trapped but it is very much locked. The door itself appears to be made of bone, or rather a multitude of bone that has been masterfully fused together to seem as if it were a single piece. Lines of silver, lead and mithril can be seen not only traced through the door, but also through the surrounding wood and stone. To Nira, the entire place crawls with very potent abjurational magic. It will require some sort of command word, or possibly a Knock, but she is quite confident physical force nor dimensional magic will get inside.

What does greet you is a room that redefines lavish. Silk curtains and wall hangings, burning incense, gilded furnishings and elegant marble and crystal mosaics. Behind one set of curtains is a Crystal Ball. An exquisitely crafted bookshelf holds works on toruture and other horrible dark and perverse material. A mural of bones and preserved body parts adorns a wall. One of the tables is decorated in loose sapphires and rubies, too numerous to count. A silver bucket is full of diamond dust to allow cigars to be extinguished. A small fire steams water and upon a rack above sits a set of black opals. A large amoire of cherry holds a magnificent set of dinnerware for up to 50 people and the lower shelves hold ledgers and logs
The small room, now clearly larger inside than it was on the outside is a massive treasure trove of information and actual treasure. The center of all within the entire Emerald Kingdom

Also, I think we should hold off on destroying the evidence until we report this rakshasa cell to the authorities? As for the loot, better we take and use it to finish them off than allow them to get it back and use it to hurt more people. The group is a bit uncomfortable in the extra dimensional space that is obviously the main living quarters of the Rakshasa formerly known as Greenleaf.

As Gaffer moves to cover the Crystal Ball an exchange takes place. Within its surface, Gaffer spies A sun lit room on early morning rays, ornately furnished and to his shock, the scent of rose and lavender can be detected through the devise. A great window can be seen, the sun Felt through which Gaffer spies a beautiful river and just beyond an island with a magnificent cathedral. Local Knowledge DC 15 Highlight to display spoiler: {It can only be the Cathedral of Light in Plateau City!} Gaffer describes what he sees out loud and then the ball goes black, a large hand, sapphire in color, sweeps across and the druid is staggered by a magical blast which even from across the room, the rest of the Tide feel like a thunderclap.
The all clear on the treasure is given.

Gaffer does his best to memorise exactly what he saw, particularly the position of the sun and path of the river, to help find the location again later.
"A blue hand..." Gaffer ponders for a moment before shrugging his shoulders. "Doesn't mean much to me but might be worth bearing in mind."
With the others gathering the loot, Gaffer takes out his map and starts judging the distance and paths between their location and Plateau City.

Desdichado and Danko look to start off immediately to Plateau City, but Hmerrin calls for caution: it took all the magic they had to even touch Greenleaf and they're gonna need an upgrade.
Nira and Desdichado want to destroy the foul 'art' and accoutrement, and the paladin isn't even comfortable with the regular treasure. Ramierez wants to keep it to show the local authorities, but gets out-voted: it is destruction, and the sooner the better. Desdichado is also out-voted on sealing up everything: first, magic detection determines most of it is not cursed or evil, and second is Hmerrin's point.
It takes the rest of the day to sort the good treasure and cleanse the inter-planar space from the foulness of Greenleaf and his ilk. Yet finally, finally, the heroes are able to emerge and once again breath the relatively fresh air of the Wold! With them is enough money to prepare for the fight to come, the one where they hope at last to trap Golden Eyes (and Blue Hand?) and end it plans once and for all!
But our heroes have been away from Dirt City for quite some time…
