DM James: Homecoming Map

Tad offered to give the heroes a ride back, but Olostim stopped them and said. "It's too dangerous right here. Leave your boat and walk back with us."

Along the trail back to town Olostim was quiet about what he thought was causing all tis strife and when he learned that the Woad Beer was due to be sent on to Hook City he wiped his face with a cloth and told them it would be for the best. He and Burne would have to enchant a charm to hang in the town square (Outside the Trade House where the fish pond is) in order to counteract the magic shenanigans.

The journey back consisted of each person keeping a close eye on Isaiah as he kept wanting to wander from the trail to see or that interesting thing he'd found "last" time. Keeping the boy on task also allowed them to make the return journey in under half a day, so they were walking in through the west gate at midafternoon.

The children's parents were there waiting as well as the sheriff called for the council. Soon a crowd had gathered at the gate as people looked in or the children and the heroes were congratulated for yet another life saving action on the part of the town. Before long there was a celebration right there in the street as people turned out from all around bringing in tables, chairs, beverages, and food. All before the heroes had walked more than 20 yards beyond the gates.

Isaiah was especially happy as somewhere in the crowd of people he'd found a pie and was elbow deep into it when the music started.

As the afternoon turned to evening the celebration continued and even the fog that typically rolled into the town each night failed to show up. Everyone called it a good sign as they continued to dance beneath the stars on this rare and clear night. Off in a corner the two children, fed and tired, had fallen asleep as they lay upon a bench and covered in a few of the townsfolks bright green cloaks.

Onesimos tries to keep the children’s attention by telling stories of Storge and Philia, having a contest if family or friendship was better. Or Philautia discovering how her own self-worth was worth living for. Or Pragme’s adventure with people he really didn’t like but all wanted the same thing. The elf feels he had a masterful performance, but only for an audience of a few. Typical!

At town, he joins the celebration, but modestly and keeping his wits. He keeps an eye on Snark, Teddy, and Corym, all of who know the most about strange magic and what they think of the wizard’s solution.

Snark starts to walk back with the others, and then realizes he has a spell for that. He casts his Mount spell, and creates a riding pony. He offers to let Kylie ride with him, but Isiah can walk with the others. "You were the older one, and you shoulda known better. You nearly got you and your sister here killed. Think about that while we're walking back."

Once the Luck Makers return to town, Snark is glad to be back where he can get a warm bath and a comfy bead. He lights up his pipe and enjoys an ale as he pulls his fancy new cloak around him. He'll dismiss the pony.

As he sees Isiah elbow deep in a pie, the grumpy little gnome shakes his head. "If I'd a' pulled the stunt he did, I'd be grounded and doing chores for a tenday. But - not my monkeys, not my circus."

Corym takes the cloak, thanking Olostim. (27 spellcraft). Corym will then head over and pick up a blow dart and the darts themselves. (Unless anybody wants any of them, Corym intends to take all 27 darts.) On the journey home he wraps the cloak around himself, shadows seeming to deepen around his form. Once back in town he enjoys the celebration but tries to stay out of the spotlight himself.

Snark will head to the Catacombs tomorrow to sell stuff. Here's what he plans to sell:

13020 GP - 10 x +1 Blowgun (1302 GP Each)
4482 GP - 27 x +1 Bane Darts (166 GP Each)

If Corym, or anyone else, wants to keep some, let me know. But bear in mind, keeping stuff will be part of your share. Corym would not be able to keep all the darts, but certainly some could be part of his share.

Tykeas observes the arrival of the "heros" and out of curiosity wanders over where he can hear their report. After spitting, carefully, over his shoulder to ward away the possibility of jinxing the return, he seeks out some wine. Every celebration should have wine.

Isaac mumbles "Gods give us patience" as they chase the children back on to the path for the twelfth time. As Snark conjures a steed he echoes his opinion.. "We got really lucky that your both safe. We and the rest of the town was worried sick"
Back at the town Isaac takes part in festivities telling as best he can of their fight with the frogmen of the beach."..They came out of the mists like ghosts croaking and waving around those mornistars ready to bash us but be banded together wi spell sword and arrows we went at the lot.."

Gore'Thum plays the scary frog babysitter card to try to keep the kid from wandering off (intimidate 12). Teddy is just happy the kids are safe and thrilled at their reception back home. He parties hard with the kids and ends up passed out right next to them with Gore'Thum standing watch over them all.

Onesimos accepts as many drinks as he gives away. Stories come and go, and he emphasizes the frog-men, the Boggards of Spirit Swamp dogging their trail, croaking to unnerve their victims, and storming the beach to attack two defenseless children. The Luck Makers threw themselves against these monsters to defend and protect. Glad we could.
