The party accept the inevitable. Across land it shall be. Working as a team, and pooling resources Snark Riverstone, Teddy Treeborn and Gore’Thum, Isaac Harper, Onesimos, Khord Briarmark and Jasper establish a plan and put it into action.
From 5 Mile to Frost Lake, on to Wayfayer, and then along the Shimmerwood Trail the party make their way. Surprisingly they meet few individuals - a few hunters more intent on hunting game, and collecting meat and pelts. Nothing threatens, except a spate of bad weather for a few days at the midpoint of their travels. After what seems like forever, footsore and a little underweight after having depleted their food stores and hunted to supplement over the 13 days - the party staggers out of the woods - the abbey within view on their left, and the easternmost gate of Heranmar beyond.
Precious cargo intact, a different set of ’Luck Makers’ than those who set out, approach the community. For some the walls and town beyond are a familiar sight, but for others…

Teddy is glad to be home and wants to rush to the inn to enjoy good bedding again but no doubt the party will have to meet with people and turn over the payment.

Since we weren't able to get horses, Snark will conjure 5 of them for about 6 hours each day, assuming the druid does not need one. This greatly reduces how much walking his little legs have to do, and makes the journey a bit easier for all.
He's not much of a hunter, so he's glad others that bring down some game. He uses his survival (+8) and herbalist (+10) skills as we go to identify edible plants, and more importantly which plants to avoid.
Each night, he will cast a spell to make a clean, dry, warm shelter (Tiny Hut.) He uses Prestidigitation to keep folks clean - partly so Snark doesn't have to smell all these folks in the small are of the spell.
As the town comes into sight, Snark breathes a sigh of relief. He runs his fingers through his sky blue hair and picks the twigs and leaves from his beard. "It still a weird little town, but it looks pretty good right now, eh? Thanks all of you for helping a little gnome make such a rough trek. I like you guys."
"Now, let's go get something to drink!"

Onesimos has two more weeks to learn how much of a city-boy vs country-boy he is... and he smiles at the sight of the ruined Abbey and the walls of Heranmar!
Sore in foot and back, the cleric was also able to help the team by daily casting a spell to create food and drink enough to feed all of them. The taste was bland and thoroughly uninteresting, but it enabled the Luck Makers (LM) to push hard. He was also grateful beyond words at Snark's magical shelter and cleaning techniques, but even with all that, it was still no pleasure outing!
"First things first, especially with all these platinum bars! We can push and get to the Quendock Mansion and the Councilors before sunset. We need to hand over the beer payment, and ensure everyone knows who are Luck Makers now. Then to the Blue Cat Tavern to get good food, a good bath, and good rooms for everyone. Then tomorrow, we start seeing people we need to speak with. We can introduce Jasper and Khord to the WLA and Catacombs folks, and then whichever way their interests lay. I myself will visit the Sanctuary of the Sea tomorrow afternoon and see my fellow clerics."
Benni tries hard to get to the Mansion and turn over the Spirit Woad Beer Payment from Hook City.

OOC Notes for DMs: 1. Ralphus (the Bartender) had re-named his "Bottom Feeder Inn" the "Blue Cat Tavern" because the familiar of a former LM was a fire elemental that looked like a blue cat and liked to play in the fireplace.
2. Quendock Mansion (See Woldipedia: Geography: Heranmar) is used by the Town Council. I can't really remember any of them: only met once or twice. Benni thinks they are locals who change out from time-to-time anyways. (Why "Quendock" is older history the CoC DM [me] can tell the DMs later).
3. WLA had a booth (not a big presence) in the Trade House and was run by Khol Akoka (See Woldipedia: Current Games: Heranmar). Just before the trip to Hook City, we were told Akoka was the only survivor of an adventuring party into the Abbey and she was cursed to be perpetually unable to organize anything. No matter how much we helped, the WLA paperwork was always a mess! :-)
4. Catacombs. I think they also had a booth in the Trade House.
5. Sanctuary of the Sea (Chapel). Described in 'Geography" and "Current Games", Benni knew 2 other clerics in the Sanctuary: Reshakka the old liontaur caretaker, and Roland the acolyte of Wardd. Benni has not asked for one of the alcoves to be dedicated to Flower. Benni hasn't seen Honora (the Crones priestess and on the Council) in the Sanctuary; thinking she prefers the Standing Stones south of town, which Benni avoids.

Isaac didn't have much to contribute as they made their way back to the Heranmar. He mostly told stories of the gods to try and keep their spirits up. After the long 13 day hike back to the town he was never so glad to see the gates of civilization."Thank the gods and thank Heranmar were back! After we go see the payment off first thing I'm gonna do is go get a pile of pancakes, take a bath and lie down in my bed for the rest of the day." Isaac could already imagine sitting down at the Blue Cat Tavern and eating his fill. He would need to go see the sheriff and Reshakka later and get caught up on what had been going on but right now all he wanted to do was relax.
Isaac will accompany Bennie to deliver the platinum bars.

It’s not far now! Through the gate and down the middle of town…
Reflecting on his efforts to ensure his companions comfort during the past fortnight, Snark is satisfied with his efforts, but not too proud to acknowledge the contributions of his friends. Likewise, Bennie is dismissive of his own not insignificant contribution to the welfare of his comrades. The fastidious elf feels somewhat humbled by his experience in the wild. Little did Isaac know how much his tales helped pass the time, and keep his friends from the dismals.
Jasper is quiet, possibly feeling like a stranger in a strange land? Having been instrumental in figuring out the way to Herenmar and supplementing the group’s diet with his hunting, Khord keeps his thoughts to himself. Teddy is simply grateful to be back, with the possibility of a soft mattress, and clean sheets - once the party’s business is done.
Deputy Ned Green waves six weary travellers through the gate. ”You’re alive! he shouts, continuing: “after Captain Rio showed up without you, and some crazy tale about bandits, we thought you were goners.”. The man touches the amulet hanging from a cord around his neck and in a lower voice asks: ”have you got the…”
Ned doesn’t wait for an answer, and gestures to a little girl - one of the Bottim triplets - telling her to go fetch her dad. ”We’ll have to get the council together…Sheriff’s at the Port Gate…you’ve got a little time to dump your stuff and freshen up…”
Down the street that runs through the centre of town and past the clear water of the pool in the middle of it, you can see the Quendock Mansion just ahead. There are people too. Some folks you recognize. They stop what they are doing and stare, twiddling talismans or making warding signs with their hands - before a great cheer breaks the quiet.
You have a little time (maybe an hour?) before the council members can be assembled

Back to play: Jasper is seized by an anxiety attack. All she wants is to protect the wild and a place in the world. She hopes she might have that place with the Luck Makers, but who knows how these things go? She's a stranger to this town. So, she smiles at the team, bows, and says "I'll be watching, and I'll rejoin you when you're ready." She beckons to Snark.
"If there be a chance to resupply, could you get me some rope and rations? Here's coin. Whistle like this when you want me." She mimics a chickadee. Enjoy your homecoming, my friend. With that, she fades back into the wilderness.

As they return to Heranmar, Khord and Niko feel energized by the journey. It was actually the most comfortable journey he has taken overland with thanks to the conjured horses, tiny hut, and magical food. He has gone through about half of his own stores, but would have depleted them entirely had it not been for his friends and the occasional roots and game he was able to scrounge up.
He will make sure the funds are delivered safely and then will seek out his Twilight Rangers companions who made the journey to the southern continent with him. He practically went straight from one ship to the other when he arrived and joined the Luck Makers on the Sea Witch. He hopes that Lars and Wren have found them some sort of accommodations and have made some headway on establishing the Twilight Rangers in Heranmar.
OOC: Lars and Wren are higher ranking Twilight Rangers that I will flesh out as we continue, but they are part of his mission to find the missing midshipman.

Onesimos greets Ned warmly. "Thank the seven loves! Having a practical purpose is a key to perseverance, and we certainly wanted to ensure the town would thrive!" The elf is caught off-guard by the sudden withdrawl of Jasper. but... but... Inspiration strikes.
"Jasper, I have a favor to ask. We had a companion, Tae-Che, who had been growing a wild garden behind the Blue Cat Tavern. She was a sorcerer, but of the Fey, and it comforted her to blend wild and useful. Now that she is gone, there is no one to really use it to show the townsfolk how to take care of natural plants. Could... could you?"
Whichever way things turn out, with an hour to freshen up, Benni lights out for the Blue Cat Tavern with whoever wants to come. He ensures everyone gets a room to securely drop most of their stuff, grabs his best change of clothes, and heads to the public bath with a trencher bread stuffed with cheese, olives, and peppers. He is sure he can finish it before his turn to steam away the road ache!

Khord travels to the Blue Cat Tavern, following Benni's lead, he stows some of his less needed items in his newly rented room, orders the cheese and pepper sandwich, and treads along to the baths. He inquires about getting Niko cleaned up also and offers a premium to any of the bath workers that can clean him up while Khord washes the weight of the road off his back.
Once done he will dress and make himself look as presentable as possible for the council meeting.

Snark is surprised how glad he was to be back in Heranmar. Sure the people in town were a little odd what with all their superstitions and stuff, but he was kinda getting used to them.
The little gnome will get a quick bath and change into some fresh clothes. Then he'll see to some real food and replenish his supply of tobacco.
Once we're back together, he says, "Oooo, it's good to have some real food again. That stuff Benni conjured on the road was alright for holding body and soul together, but it had all the appeal of wet carboard. No offence there Benni.
"You know Benni, I'd almost forgotten about Tae Che. She was swell, and I was sad to see her go.
"I was glad you agreed to check in on her garden Jasper, and even gladder that Benni didn't ask me. I tell ya, once people think you're a Garden Gnome - you don't shake that label once you get it.
"Ever meet a Garden Gnome? They're weird. They just stand around mostly, always staring with this dopey look on their face. And they all seem to wear the same red hat - what's up with that? No sir, I don't trust 'em. They seem shifty. You never know what their thinking. They give me the willies."

Faced with the press of townsfolk, a traumatized Jasper panics. Since banishment from the Culverwood, life has been one horror after another for the half-elf, whose inclination is to disappear into the nearest woodland. Then Benni asks a favour. Might the druid take a look at a secret garden created by a dear friend?
Teddy makes a bee line for the Bottom Feeder Inn where he is handed a key to his old room by a smiling Ginifred Bottim.
Benni follows, and makes arrangements for the ‘Luck Makers’. More keys are handed out, including one for Khord. ”Charges waived for tonight” announces the innkeeper in her pretty soprano voice. She looks up at her husband, Ralphus, as he sets down a large tray piled high with sandwiches before turning back looking at Snark and asking:”you’ve got the…” She doesn’t finish the sentence, but bends down to whisper in the ear of a little girl, before addressing Jasper. “Gini, here, will show you the garden.”
While Teddy, Benni, Khord (with Niko) and Snark head off to clean up, eat, nap, or all three, Gini leads Jasper through the inn, past the tavern kitchens, and out a back door.
The half elf recognizes the riot of plants and herbs commonly used for cooking and medicinals that have spilled beyond their original confines. Seeds borne by air, birds, or small mammals must have found good soil, for the space is a chaotic rainbow of wildflowers and other plants. Buzzing pollinators attracted by the colours and scents, and the occasional chirping of birds from nests hidden behind wild roses, purple clematis, and dark green ivy running rampant up the walls - are the only sounds that break the quiet. This is not a shady woodland grove, but there is the same sense of a gift of divine favour one feels in special places, resting peacefully upon the secret garden.
Gini sits on the ground near the open door, and plays quietly with a little grey cat - leaving the half-elf in peace.

Exactly one hour later, Ralphus Bottim, the hairiest red-headed man you’ve ever seen, calls for the party. ”Council’s assemble. Quick march to the mansion!”

Teddy is a tiny bearfolk with soft brown fur who always wears simple clothing. If not for him moving and talking he might be confused for a stuffed animal. Gore'Thum, his companion (and now technically DM NPC) is a giant frog, much larger then Teddy though not so large as to be medium sized. He has dark brown pebbly skin on top and smooth white on bottom and is often very short and grumpy with people.
Teddy usually follows Gore'Thum's lead and has a nervous air about him. Today he seems to be feeling a little more confident, walking beside his friends instead of hiding in the back.

Snark hurries to keep up with his taller companions. He puffs on his long pipe as he goes.
The little gnome is just over 3' tall, with tan skin with pale blue hair and beard. Dressed in a long, green coat that goes to his knees over brown pants, he carriers a small staff made of smooth driftwood and capped by a smooth, blue river stone. Did the swirl in that stone just move? Looking at it directly it's clearly just an opaque stone - but you could have sworn you saw a swirling motion to it.
He scans the crowd, looking for trouble. Or strangers. If the Luck Makers were being pursued for the town's wealth in Hook City, the thieves may have made their way here.

Isaac used the hour to take a bath and freshen up before returning. Still looking tired but with fresh clothes and no longer smelling like a 13 day hike in the woods he follows the group up to the mansion to meet with the council. He ponders his reflection in a puddle as he waits outside of the mansion. A half elf just shy of 6 foot dressed in a simple dark blue hooded linen shirt, brown linen pants and brown leather boots.Blue eyes and a dirty blonde mop of hair. Scar from a knife wound on his right cheek. Right now he looked exhausted but he knew a few days rest would help with that.

Jasper is a wiry half-elf woman with leaf-green eyes and long, silvery hair. Her expression is usually soft and kind, albeit a little sad. Something about her feels feline.
She wears tall, soft boots and a long tunic subtly embroidered with leaves. A sturdy quarterstaff is strapped to her back.
Her heart swells upon seeing the garden. "Thank you for bringing me here, Ginni. It's wonderful."
She gets to work taking inventory. Feverfew, chamomile, yarrow, coneflower....

Onesimos, sandwich in hand, takes a look-see to the 'garden'. A busy and smiling Jasper is all the satisfaction the cleric needs.
Benni gets his usual stunned face at the wall of questions and topics that come out of his gnome friend's mouth: he isn't sure where to begin (as usual!), so settles on a nod and smile. "We all part eventually, but we never forget those who have travelled together, be it remain but a feeling."
Ralphus calls for the Luck Makers, and the brown-haired elf hurries to place his final touches and his blue eyes gaze into a mirror. His pale and narrow face is framed by long brown hair and untidily bound by a fragile but faintly glowing diadem. His simple clothes with elaborately embroidered flower motif is all but hidden with his magical armor: breast plate, buckler, and topped by a sleeveless calf-length coat. His everpresent morningstar and starknife at his side, the image is topped off with a woven ivy-and-willow pendant that looks like the High Woldian symbol for 'Flower'. Yes, he is ready.
He joins the group going to the Quendock Mansion.

Revived as much as one can be within one hour of arriving home (after nearly two months living out of a pack!) Teddy, Snark, Benni and Isaac set off towards Quendock Mansion and their audience with the Herenmar city councillors. Not to be left behind, Jasper and Khord pelt after the group when they hear Ralphus’ summons.
Gore’Thum stops near the pool at the Center of town. ”You do this, Teddy. After, we talk.” The enormous frog’s pupils dilate and his thin lipped mouth seems to stretch a little wider and tip up slightly at the edges.
Crossing the threshold of the mansion you see the council members have assembled in seats behind a table. Benni, Snark, Isaac and Teddy will recognize:
Rap Goodfellow, rep. - trades/merchants Honora, rep. - faith and gifted Fileal, rep. - fishers/hunters, and also the current mayor Sheriff Eugene, rep. - law Ilthemar the Minotaur, rep. at large (and also the town butcher)
Chairs are set out in five rows of six. Interested parties sit behind an empty front row. Owing to it being the dinner hour, and a deputy at the door discouraging lookie-Lou’s, most townsfolk have kept away. The Luck Makers may or may not recognize:
Patch, Quartermaster of the Sea Witch and Captain Rio’s right hand man Percivan, the sole surviving Woad hunter Gwenlian, the Port Master …and of course Ralphus.
An outside seat in the last row is occupied by an unknown individual. A male elf with light hair is bent over a book and scribbling furiously. He looks up, and you see intelligent dark eyes under thick dark brows. He scans the party, then returns to his scribbling.
”Come in! Come in!” The mayor jumps to his feet, slapping his hands on the table in front of him. Gesturing at the empty seats he continues: ”Captain Rio told us what happened in Hook City, but what happened afterwards!…and, more importantly, have you got the proceeds from the sale of the Woad Beer!”

Onesimos leaves it to the other Luck Makers to tell about what has happened since Jasper sent the message to Captain Rio. He also lets Snark catch Jasper and Khord up on the 'whos-who' in Heranmar. The elf wants to get the really important part: the end of their mission!
Not taking a seat, Benni walks up to the table. "Councilors, we do, and here it is!" Only then does he pull the non-descript bag of holding from his belt pouch and lay it, opened, on the table. Then he reaches a hand in to pull out a platinum trade bar. And another. And... Until all of them are neatly stacked in front of the Council. "Our mission fulfilled, we thank the seven loves that our company could help our community of Heranmar."
Then he sits down in an empty seat in the front row.

As Snark sees Benni start to open the bag of holding, he jumps out of his seat as he shouts, "BENNI! NO!"
Satisfied he stopped the cleric in the nick of time, he steps forward. "Whew, that coulda' ended badly. Ya see, when we got this thing, we were told that only Ralfus had the password to open this thing, and if anyone else but him tried, everything inside would be lost forever."
"Sorry about that Benni - we been on the road for a while, so that kinda stuff's easy to forget."
Disaster averted, the little gnome returns to his seat.
"Anyway, you was asking about what happened after Hook City. Well, we went to Five Mile lookin' for somebody named Zenia the Dark so's I could become a Greenmage. We found her outside town. She was helpful, taught me what I needed to know, and we dealt with an ogre and stuff. Luckily, Isaac's dad lives in Hook City, and he sent word there was bandits waiting to steal the beer payment, so we had to hoof it back overland instead. It was a long hike back, but we come part way back with a trading caravan. Teddy knows his way around the woods, Khord and Jasper caught some food on the way, and Benni made some magical gruel we could eat, so we done OK.
"Now, you met Khord before we left, but I don't think you folks know Jasper. This here's Jasper. She's swell. She's a druid, an' I think she's a great addition to our little group so I figure you'll extend the same kindness to her that you do to us."

There’s a collective intake of breath, and someone screams when the cleric of Flower tugs at the bag. The nondescript cloth sack is tougher than it looks, and doesn’t give way to a little manhandling!
Snark jumps to his feet, and shouts a warning to his friend, and a white faced Ralphus steps in and gently removes the password protected Bag of Holding from Benni’s hands.
”I’ll take that, thank you very much!” says the hairy tavern keeper. Ralphus wastes no time speaking the words that loosen the magic on the bag. ”Looks like it’s all here!” he announces to a collective cheer from councillors and onlookers.
Snark outlines the trip home from Five Mile, and Jasper blushes when the blue haired gnome singles her out. A brave Teddy watches and listens from his front row seat beside Isaac and Khord.
The mayor beckons to two guardsmen, who stagger forward with a heavy chest. Time to disperse the funds! Don’t go anywhere you six. There’s a reward! Silver, Gold, or Platinum?”. The experience is far removed from that of the Hook City bureaucracy. Sheriff Eugene points to a line on a page in a book, and tells you to ‘make your mark.’ There are six identical lines that say:
1000GP delivery of WB and transport of funds…..
and after each one is a name: Snark Riverstone, Teddy Treeborn, Isaac Harker, Onesimos Elpis, Khord Briarmark and Jasper.

Khord spent some time getting dressed and groomed, being the first official representative of the Twilight Rangers to meet the Mayor and Council. He freshly shaves the sides of his head, leaving his crop of thick black hair on top that he ties back (not in a bun) and trims his beard. He dons a black cloak over grey and green overcoat, and fine chain can be seen underneath. He has finely crafted boots and two pommels of short swords rest at his waist, which Khord rests his hands on while he walks.
Niko is all cleaned up and fed. He follows at Khord's heels and sniffs at things that come within his range. Otherwise he is looking about and giving his best happy dog face as he enters the council room to surprised looks of some of those in the room.
Khord starts at the commotion over the opening of the bag, and is relieved that all turned out well.
As Khord steps forward to sign for his reward, he says, "It was my great honor to help Heranmar with this delicate mission. I hope the funds will be well spent for the betterment of your town." He immediately feels that he sounded kind of pompous and starts to blush slightly. He then adds, "I will take my reward in gold if there is a choice, it will spend easier in the shops than platinum i think."
Khord notes the Elf scribbling furiously in the corner, and wonders if he is some sort of secretary taking minutes, a historian, or some sort of bard.
DM Bob and Carla - Just reward… Sunday June 25th, 2023 10:26:23 PM Isaac signs his name and collects 1000GP - dreaming of how it might be spent! Khord collects his gold, and introduces himself to the council - an obedient Niko at his side studies the half-orc’s face for cues of his next movements. Khord watches the elf talking to Benni and speculates on his profession.
Benni waits for Teddy, Jasper and Snark to collect their shares before collecting his own. Whilst waiting his turn, he speaks to the scribbler.
” Maethor Mahtor” volunteers the elf as he closes his notebook and stuffs it into a leather satchel with the motif of a battlemented tower with some High Woldian symbols on it. “Woldian League of Adventurers. Sent by headquarters to relieve journeywoman Akoka.”. The elf offers his hand., and you spot the WLA badge pinned to his grey tunic. ”Better call me ‘Miles’. The townsfolk do. Have trouble with the elven names.”.
The folks with a vested interest in the distribution of the Woad Beer money have collected their payment. Patch, the quartermaster of the Sea Witch and Captain Rio’s right hand man is seen making some disbursements to a few people you recognize as suppliers of comestibles for the ships that sail in and out of the port. Everyone else has left for home, or the Blue Cat.
Gore’Thum waits for Teddy by the pool. There is an occasional flash of reflected torchlight off the golden scales of the lone fish that lazily circles the pond.
It’s late, and the party has had a long day. (OOC: please describe how you spend the night and the following morning. )

The following day a multi-masted sailing ship is spotted off the port. Row boats head out from Herenmar. Their mission: to tow the boat into port and the special docks reserved for the big vessels that come in from Plateau City. It will be several hours before their work is done, but what are those hours compared to the months already spent at sea?

Onesimos clasps the offered hand and skakes human-style. "Nice to meet you, Miles. I am Onesimos Elpis, and like you, they all call me Benni. We have several members of the WLA in our group, but with Akoka's paperwork skills, I would be surprised if you had us all." The elf shifts his surcoat to show that he too is wearing the Badge. "I would like to call on you tomorrow, and say farewell to Akoka if she is still here. But this evening has run its course and it has been a long, long day."
Benni collects his reward in platinum and retires to his room at the Blue Cat. Undressed with clothes, armor, and weapons neatly placed, he falls into a well-earned slumber.
An early riser, the cleric still isn't faster than the kitchen staff. Besides, he likes to waken to the good smells! A quick ablution, he comes to break his fast in a rust tunic and khaki trews, both hemed with delicate flower motifs, only his Starknife at his side. So much better than his conjured food!
He hears about the incoming ship, but knows he has time before knowing anything of substance. So he returns to his room for his meditations; empties his pack and does basic maintenance on metal, leather, and cloth; then puts everything back. He then checks if any of his fellow Luck Makers would like to visit the WLA booth at Trade House before making his own way there to see Miles (and maybe Akoka).

Beatrix finds a nice spot out of the way on deck to lay her horse half on and wait patiently for docking to proceed with a nice book in hand. She spent the months at sea reading and learning about the sailors art, always happy to learn new information.
Her familiar is less patient and flies to land to explore their destination before the ship finishes docking. She makes a general nuisance of herself fluttering about town and around people, squeaking her interest and just generally getting in the way.

Jasper makes her mark: A "J" in common script, twining around a quick rendering of a culverclover leaf. She clears her throat. "My thanks. Gold pieces, if that please you."
She accepts the bag of coins gratefully. Her eyes flick to Khord and Niko as they enter the room. "Hullo, sweet boy! And hi to you, Khord."
She bends to lay her hand between Niko's ears while Khord accepts his reward. Mid-pet, she catches a glimpse of the busily scribbling elf in the corner. Curious.
She waits for her friends to conclude their business, buys a mug of cider, and then engages a room and a bath. She falls into a deep sleep.
The next morning, she buys a hunk of good brown bread and soft cheese for breakfast, then wanders toward the garden; she'd spotted some knotweed the day before that she wants to eradicate. On her way, she sees Gore'thum and Teddy in earnest conversation.
"Teddy! Oh Teddy. I wish you well. Be happy, both of you, and have many fine adventures."
She thinks about Snark's question regarding the Bag of Holding. "Those can be wonderous useful. Aren't they rather rare? Maybe we should keep it-- unless one of us already has one?"

Khord hears Jasper as he is signing his name in a well practiced common script. "If you keep sweet boying him he is never gonna be of any use in combat, he'll go all soft." Khord says in a playful tone. He notices Benni talking to the elf in the corner and figures the cleric will let everyone know if he needs our attention.
After the disbursement, He heads back to the Blue Cat. Once there, he asks for a messenger and buys a tankard of beer. He asks the messenger to track down or otherwise discover the whereabouts of two other Twilight Rangers who go by the names Lars and Wren. If found they are to be told where he is staying, if not he is to put the word out that he is back in town so that they might find him on their own.
He and Niko head to their room, and the dog tries and fails to claim the feather bed for himself. Khord falls into a deep slumber, snoring loudly until morning.
In the morning, he is greeted with the news of Teddiy's departure and says his goodbye's. [b]"It was an honor sharing the road with you friends, May your actions be pleasing to Domi and he smile on you during your journey across the ocean."
OOC: I think the bag of holding and quiver Snark is talking about is from the Sea Drake. and unless I am mistaken, we all received a type II bag of holding along with the coins for our reward. I would be fine selling it unless someone wants a second bag.

Isaac after signing his name and wondering for a bit about how he will spend his wealth looks over and recognizes Patch. When things have calmed down Isaac goes over to Patch and asks " That note sure gave us a surprise can you send my thanks and gratitude to everyone on the ship? It was a good fortune Rio learned of that plot." Isaac stays and chats with Patch for a few minutes before leaving for the Blue Cat. Walking in he greets the Innkeeper couple that run it and asks for dinner if they are still serving. He pays his rent and goes upstairs to his room and crawls under the covers and falls asleep.
Come Dawn Isaac wakes up and walks down stairs ready for the day He orders pancakes and bacon savoring the sweet breakfast. After that he heads over to the Sheriffs office or the guard house to ask if any thing new has happened in town while the Luck Makers were away.
Ooc: We ALL got a Lvl2 Bag of holding? I thought we got 1 that the whole party would share. If we all got one I'll be keeping mine. I have a habit of hoarding bits and bobs.

A roguish looking mage with an athletic, slender build, Malhynn wears a high-quality cloak with well-made travel clothes and fine elven boots. The elven wizard wears a masterwork rapier on one hip, and a duo of sheathed wands upon the other.
Glancing around, the mage spots the only centaur on board, and with a smile, he walks over to where Beatrix rests, reading. "Good morning to you, Miss Beatrix. I trust you slept well?"Tis a fine day to settle our feet back on solid ground, eh?" He pauses a moment, then grins and adds, "Or hooves, I suppose."

Isaac chats with Patch, who volunteers that he’ll be in town until Captain Rio and the Sea Witch return to port. He adds that the good folk of Heranmar provisioned the ship on credit, and Rio left her quartermaster behind to settle up once the Luck Makers delivered the ready.
Jasper and Khord bond over a very big ‘boy’, while Niko pushes his head against Jasper’s hand, hoping for more pats and scritches.
Miles tells Benni he’s seen his name in the Heranmar membership book, as well as some of the elf’s companions - though he admits being unable to put a face to a name.
After collecting his reward, Snark makes a mental inventory of his possessions.
Teddy has a serious conversation with Gore’Thum before following his friends in adventuring into the Blue Cat. There’s a tray of cold meats and cheeses, a basket of sliced breads and buns, and a bowl of nuts and dried fruit for those who are peckish, and orders are taken for celebratory nightcaps before folks head off for home, or rooms above stairs in the inn.
Next morning…
At breakfast Teddy announces his intentions to depart Heranmar, seeing as Gore’Thum says it’s time.
In the morning Jasper realizes she was given a room at the back of the inn overlooking the secret garden. She grabs her breakfast and escapes into the space, where she spends the morning uninterrupted.
Khord manages to snag a youth who might be up to the task of finding his friends, if they are in Heranmar. He has to describe them to the boy - twice, and write their names on a scrap of paper - but with the advancement of a coin, and a promise of another if successful - he sends the boy off.
Benni visits the WLA office, which is tidier than he has ever seen it. Papers are stacked in neat piles, books shelved, a row of recently sharpened pencils lay side by side on the desk. Miles greets the Cleric of Flower, then sits on the edge of the desk. He volunteers Akoka is still in Heranmar and works a few hours per week for the WLA doing outreach.
Isaac looks for Sheriff Eugene, and is advised that he’s down at the Sea Gate entry.
Early afternoon…
Onboard the Next Horizon an elf and centaur look forward to being on dry land, they watch as the ship is pulled to its station on the pier, and a large double wide gangway is lowered into position. As they make their way towards the gangplank, they are brushed past by the Captain, who storms across and down to the Harbour Master’s office where he engages in animated conversation with an official.
Six dwarves bustle across immediately afterwards, their attention focused squarely on the four carts of equipment being lowered from the hold onto the pier. When Beatrix and Malhynn finally get their turn, the dwarves have already collected their gear and are heading away from the docks through town.
The ramp creaks under the combined weight of the centaur and the elf as they make their way down the gangplank and onto the dock. They are greeted briefly by the ship’s steward, thanking them for voyaging with Horizons Shipping Line, and directed to the Blue Cat Tavern and Bottom Feeder Inn to find rooms, a meal, and perhaps a drink. Their luggage, if any, will be sent along later.

Onesimos listens to Teddy's sudden announcement, and sighs: Teddy has been a valued companion and a good friend. "I wish you well, my friend, and understand. If my temple recalled me, I would have to be on the next ship north. I see the callings of a Blood Witch are not dissimilar. Remember the story of Agape, although scared found courage in her concern for the well-being of all good creatures. You have that courage, Teddy."
The brown-haired elf is happy to see the WLA is tidy (finally!), and playfully cautions Miles from letting Akoka anywhere near the stall. "A good person, but not good on neatness!"
Leaving the Trade House, Benni takes a step back to not get run over by a party of dwarfs who seem to be going somewhere in a great hurry. Ah! So the ship must be docked. He walks unhurriedly to and through Port Gate to meet up with any Luck Makers on the docks and watch the busiest place in Heranmar.

As people come off of the ship, onlookers notice a library walking down the gangplank , pulling a smaller library in a handcart. No, wait, they see a horse covered in books led by a dark skinned wom- no, wait, a dark skinned centaur walks down the gangplank. Wearing a simple red outfit she is covered in pockets, pouches, satchels, and saddlebags all stuffed with books, tomes, parchment, scrolls, and quills. Her bleached-blonde hair is in a ponytail and matches her horse tail, standing out against her dark brown skin and dappled grey pelt. She pulls a small handcart equally as stuffed with documents as her clothing behind her and smiles as she look’s around the dock through a pair of reading glasses.
As she walks down the gangplank and through town towards the inn she chats pleasantly to her companion, the elf. They seem to have gotten to know each other during the long trip. "I considered messaging ahead to ask the town if they needed the services of a teacher. For all I know they have several good ones already. With the travel times though it would have taken years to negotiate any sort of deal or job so I decided to just come and find out in person. Save everyone a lot of time. Hopefully my talents are useful one way or another."

Khord spends most of the morning waiting for the boy to return with news of his companions. As the morning goes on he gets restless and sensing this, Niko starts to wag his tail and move to the door. Khord steps outside and wanders around the inn, seeing Jasper working in a small garden. He says hello and takes Niko to the green behind the inn and throws a small rawhide ball stuffed with cork and feathers that the Wolfhound eagerly retrieves.
After doing this for a short while he sees an Elf and Centaur coming from the direction of the docks. Now what can these two be about he wonders to himself.

Over breakfast, the party say their good-byes to Teddy and Gore’Thum.
Afterwards Benni calls on the new representative of the WLA at the stall in the Trade House. Later, while making his way along the main street towards the Port Gate, he is nearly run over by a party of dwarves on their way towards the East Gate.
Khord stays near the inn, hoping the youth charged with the errand of finding Lars and Wren won’t be too long. Either the half-orc’s friends are hard to find, or the boy has forgot his task - because he hasn’t showed up by the time Khord checks on Jasper busy at work in the garden.
Benni, Khord and Jasper take an interest in the folks coming up through the Port Gate.
Having disembarked from the ship, Beatrix and Malhynn pass the captain as he talks heatedly and loudly with the Harbour Master and someone called Sheriff Eugene. Captain Hugo, the newly gazetted captain of the Next Horizon describes the precarious situation of the previous evening, when he and his crew nearly lost the ship on the rocky shoals east of Heranmar. He describes mysterious lights that lured them close to shore. “Their resemblance was just like those of this harbour and port. We would have been lost! - shipwrecked! - had it not been for a stiffening breeze that cleared the fog and revealed the danger.” Satisfied that his complaints had been registered, the captain heads for the Blue Cat where, over a tot of rum, he will repeat his tale of “mysterious lights in the night” to any who will listen.

Snark is early to bed and early to rise. He studies his spells and walks out past Jasper's garden as he waves hello to the druid. He makes his way down to the docks.
He sees a ship has come in as he comes up beside Benni. "Oh, hey Benni. How's the loves doing today? I see we got a new ship in - reminds me of when I first got here not knowing anyone. Wonder what visitors we'll have?"
He sees the centaur and the elf walking into town. "Hey! Welcome here to Heranmar. I'm Snark Riverstone. An' this here's Benni. Where you two headed?"
The little gnome is just over 3' tall. He has tan skin with pale blue hair and beard. Dressed in a long, green coat trimmed in yellow that goes to his knees over brown pants, he carriers a small staff made of smooth driftwood and capped by a smooth, blue river stone. Did the swirl in that stone just move? Looking at it directly it's clearly just an opaque stone - but you could have sworn you saw a swirling motion to it.

Right now I'm heading to the inn to get a room and put down some of my stuff. Then probably to the tavern to get a hot meal and learn more about the town."
Suddenly a small brown bat drops out of the air and onto Benni's head. It squeaks once or twice and tries to make itself comfortable. "Tinkerbell!" Bea admonishes.

Onesimos waves Snark over while watching the port bustle. "I was feeling akin to Agape until you arrived with Philia", he says fondly. The cleric is not surprised at all that Snark takes the initiative to speak with the unfamiliar sight of an elf walking with a centaur carrying an absolute barrel-full of books! He inclines his head and then laughs aloud at the centaur's familiar.
"I am oh-NESS-ee-muss EL-piss, says the pleasant tenor, more commonly called 'Benni', and as representative of Flower's Seven Loves, well come to our temporary time together in the Wold."
"I think your 'Tinkerbell' may sense Snark's own 'Luna', also a bat."
"Hot meal and town knowledge: Pragma is now with Snark and I, for we can escort you to both! Having each been strangers here in Heranmar ourselves, we know how to help the newcomer."
Benni will take a slow pace to bring the recently arrived strangers to the "Blue Cat Tavern", counting on Snark to point out all the interesting parts of the town along the way.
As they near, he waves to Khord and Jasper (and Isaac if spotted), inviting them to welcome the two newcomers themselves.

Khord will take his cue from Benni and approach the newcomers. "Hail and well met friends, I hope your voyage across the ocean was a safe one. Having just recently made the trip myself i know how long and tedious it can become."
He falls in and escorts the gathering crew to the inn and enters the tavern so the newcomers can get settled. It is there over a beer that hears this Captain Hugo going on about strange lights up the coast. Sounds like something a daring group of adventurers should check out for the safety of trade coming to the town.

Well met. I'm Jasper, a druid, though you could hardly tell based on my progress in yonder garden. I could command this knotweed to entangle and fearsome it would be, but I cannot command it to kindly uproot itself."
She stops, apparently surprised at her own loquaciousness. "Forgive me; I was rambling."
Just then a wee brown bat nestles into Benni's hair. Jasper grins, garden battles forgotten.

Isaac had headed down to the docks on the way spying Snark introducing himself to two new arrivals in town. He first makes his way down to the docks and talks to the sheriff. After hearing about the ghost lights he heads to the Blue Cat Tavern to hear the story from the Captain himself. He finally catches up with Snark, Bennie and the new comers as they reach the Blue Cat Tavern.

A bit surprised by the small entourage of greeters, Mal raises a hand in greeting, allowing Beatrix to handle the opening salvo of welcoming comments. The elf chuckles good-naturedly when Tinkerbell lands on Onesimos's head, having gone through that same initiation with the bat once himself.
When there's a pause in conversation while the group is moving, the elven mage says, "Well met, indeed, all. Beatrix speaks true when she says we seek shelter and food, though not necessarily in that order." To Benni he adds, "I am unfamiliar with the Flowers of Seven Loves. Is that, perhaps, another tavern nearby?"
A pause, then the magic-user blinks almost comically and states, "Oh. Where are my manners? I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Malhynn Saendithas, Mage and Treasure Hunter, recently of Plateau City. Looking for freedom and adventure, for whatever that's worth." Mal then gives Jasper a small wink and adds, "See there? Now we're both rambling. No shame in that. Quite fun, actually."
Arriving at the tavern, Malhynn shrugs to Khord as the group enters the building. "Our voyage was safe enough, I suppose. Mostly uneventful even, if you discount those odd lights in the fog last night..."
