[I returned the Hound Archon to where it was. It is grappled and cannot move until it breaks the grapple. That may change depending on Elyas' CMB roll this round.]

Mak was still in place and could see the rust monster in the room. He nocked another two arrows and let fly, striking the creature with his manyshots. The other shots simply glanced off of the door jam or harmlessly hit the tentacles.

He's feeling really hemmed in in this confining madhouse, and beginning to think a good fire is what the place needs, whether the city would like it or not. With all the fighting going through one doorway, there's not much for him to do but watch, though, so that's what he does.

If the rapier won't sustain damage he'll use his hand of the apprentice ability to launch the rapier at the rust monster and have it return.

Tsak doesn't see the point in moving forward, at this point there are plenty of missiles passing thru the doorway into the other room. He stays put with his sword ready.

Rolth breaks into song, inspiring his friends!
Even with Rolth’s rousing encouragement, Falco laments the cramped quarters. He readies an action to shoot any enemy that presents itself.
Wil casts Magic Weapon on one of Kiwina’s weapons, but it has no effect since it’s already +1. The spell is used. (Matt - you indicated this spell increases the damage dice rolled. What would make this spell increase the number of dice?) Also, Wil moves into Kiwina’s space. He can move through a friendly occupied space, but cannot stop there. I moved him back.
The Hound Archon is grappled (-2 to hit), but Rolth’s song helps. It swings twice, and though one attack hits, that attack fails to exceed the wolf’s DR of 5. Then the Hound Archon tries to move, but it has already attacked twice so it cannot also move or try to break free of the grapple this round.
Rolth pleads for Wil to keep the Hound Archon where it is to hold those monsters where they are.
Mak can see the rust monster in the room and he shoots, though the Hound Archon does provide soft cover for Mak’s bow attacks. The first attack hits with two arrows and the creature takes 35 points of damage.
Kiwina yelps as Wil pushes into him. He and Falco watch and wait.
Ayotnom wonders if simply hitting the rust monster will damage a weapon. He thinks it’s the creature’s antennae that causes the damaging corrosion, but he’s not completely sure. He takes a risk and uses magic to strike the thing with his rapier, but it misses.
The Black Tentacles attack (CMB 32, Dam 5).
The Hound Archon is grappled and take 5 more damage.
The wolves seem to shrug off the effects of the tentacles (CMD 38). One of them attacks the Archon, and it takes 21 points of damage, less its DR.
The rust monster is not so stout and is grappled by the tentacles. It is squeezed for 5 points of damage. —------------------------------------ Here is your map. Please move yourselves accordingly. Bear in mind, that the Hound Archon provides soft cover to the creatures in this room, adding +4 to their AC. Any grappled creature takes a -4 to DEX and a -2 to its attack. Mak was starting to worry about the rust monster. He didn't recall anything that would cause them to be so tough. If the creature was enhanced by necromancy to such an extent, what of the other creatures? He was glad Elyas had managed to entrap them as he did. Enhanced himself by Rolth's song, Mak took aim once more and fired at the Rust Monster. His twin shot passed between all the intervening allies and creature to strike the deadly insect like animal, as did his next quick shot. The other two arrows missed as they hit the floor or went harmlessly into the room and struck the far wall.
"That's a rousing song old bean! Inspiring even!" Mak shouted out to his friend as he admired his aim and reloaded, perhaps for the last time. He'd need to take a moment to restock his quiver if this kept up.

Tsak moves up to the table where Esmerelda sits and puts away his sword. He peers thru the door to see if he has a target amongst the flailing limbs, heads and weapons that move wildly thru the space. That wolf looks like bad news, I'll have a shot at that when I can
(OOC I doubt Tsak can see the rust monster from where he is, Ayotnom would have to somehow move somewhere so Tsak could move there to shoot it.)

Mak worries that this rust monster seems so tough. Still, he shoots the thing. Even so, his aim is true as he fills it full of arrows. The last shot hits it squarely in the head and it sinks to the floor even as the black tentacles envelope it.
As the rust monster goes down, Elyas summons more Magic Missiles and shoots them at the wolf. They unerringly hit their target but the wolf neither reacts nor seems hurt by them. (Sorry that I put CMD 25. That was their AC. Their CMD is actually 38.)
As Falco calls on the power of the Warper-Sar, Rolth is healed for 21 points. The liontaur thanks him and continues his inspiring song. Rolth suggest some tactical moves for his friends.
Kiwina laments the cramped quarters, and moves back to let others with ranged weapons shoot.
Ayotnom uses his Hand of the Apprentice to strike with his rapier. He hits, but the tough hide of the wolf only lets 2 points of the damage through.
Tsak moves back toward where Esmerelda sits in the kitchen. He sees a few things on the table where she sits, including a grimy spoon.
The tentacles continue to writhe about wildly (36 vs CMD of the affected creatures and 9 damage.) The Hound Archon remains grappled and you can see the tentacle squeezing it, but it fights on. It attacks the wolf before it, but misses twice.
The wolf seems stronger than the tentacles - they seem to wrap around the wolf, but the wolf is somehow stronger. It snarls at the Archon and attacks. It hits for 18 damage, and though the Archon’s damage reduction mitigates this it is still enough to kill the Archon.
As this happens, the other wolf sees its chance and moves up, dodging tentacles as it goes. It moves to the first space that does not have tentacles and snaps at Elyas, biting him for 18 points of damage.
As the dead summoned Hound Archon fades away, the wolf that killed it also moves out of the tentacles, though it cannot attack again this round.
At the same time, a strange thing is happening. Since Kiwina was in combat, his three ghostly ancestors were present as wispy forms. The Petals can see that they have moved to where Wil is. They seems to be speaking with him, and though none of you can hear it, Wil replies, ”What? Oh, my! Yes. Yes, I understand. Wardd? That is important. I see. But will you watch over them?”
Wil moves to Rolth and cast Cure Critical Wounds, healing him for 34 points.

(Sorry for any confusion on the AC. Rest assured, I generally look at the rolls too and would correct any blows where you should hit.)
What appeared to be taxidermied wolves menace the party in this disheveled and cramped space. Beyond, in what was a sort of trophy room, oily black tentacles dance mindlessly as they latch onto anything there.
Hurt badly, Elyas uses Dimensional Steps to move out of harm’s way.
Squeezing in this room, Rolth moves to defend his friends, but his blow goes wide. Like Rolth, Kiwina squeezes in to attack, hitting the thing twice, inflicting 7 and 3 points.
With adversaries in his face, Mak instantly switches weapons and slashes at one with his rapier. His damage is devastating, inflicting 90 points!
Wil grasps his holy symbol as he casts Divine Favor on Kiwina. Too late, he realizes Divine Favor is a personal range spell so it affects Wil instead of Kiwina. He looks on to see his Spiritual Weapon pass harmlessly through the wolf.
Falco casts Blindness on the creature nearest him, but it has no effect.
Ayotnom again uses his a supernatural ability to cause his rapier to strike the creature. Though the blade is magical, it still seems limited by the creature’s damage resistance and it inflicts 4 points of damage.
The wolf before Mak looks haggard and badly damaged. Still it fights on. It savagely bites Mak for 23 points of damage. The other wolf lashes out at Kiwina, inflicting 20 points with a bite.

Rolth finally gets in position to make his full attack. He focuses his rage on the nearest wolf, ripping it to shreds. (Damage 24+28+10+22+10=94)
Mak sunk his blade into the wolf in front of him. The thing arches its back and falls dead.
Falco channels energy to his friends, healing them for 18 points. Will then moves up to cure Elyas for 26 points. Elyas is grateful for all the healing, even though he doesn’t need it all. Fully healed, he begins summoning help.
Kiwina attacks as the ghostly spirits of his ancestors look on. The beast’s hide turns away his blow. Ayotnom uses magic to strike at the thing from a distance, but his blow also misses.
Tsak steps forward and has a bit more success, hitting the creature for 3 points.
The one remaining wolf lashes out at Rolth, biting him for 21 points of damage.
The frightening tentacles continue to thump and thrash about in the distance.

With one wolf down, the party focuses on the remaining one.
Falco admonishes Rolth for getting all bloody as the little cleric heals him. Not to be outdone, Wil moves up to heal Kiwina. Wil notices that even as his spiritual weapons continues to strike at the wolf, it seems to do no damage.
Elyas finishes his summons, and a Hound Archon pops into existence, flanking the wolf with Tsak. The Archon strikes at the thing with its greatsword with two blows and it falls to the floor lifeless.
Roth is ready to lay into the thing, but breathes a sigh of relief as it falls. He thanks Falco for his healing. Ayotnom and Tsak also belay their attacks not that the thing is down.
Kiwina keeps a sharp eye out for more trouble. He can see that this large kitchen contains many pots, pans, and a large fireplace. There are some food stuffs here, but most are spoiled or soon will be. The large wooden table looks like it has had meat chopped on it recently and it smells badly here, but you’re getting somewhat used to the bad smell of this place. There is quite a bit of debris and refuse strewn about here.
Ugh - who would even prepare food in a place like this? Ayotnom noticed a stitched together rat moving among the debris, but it’s nowhere to be seen now.
The room is quiet. Well, except for the ungodly racket of those tentacles thrashing about in the other room.

Mak is pleased to see their foes lie still on the floor. He replenishes his arrows and switches weapons, bow at hand, as he thanks Falco for the healing.
The tentacles continue to thrash about until Elyas mutters a few arcane words, and the tentacles sink back into the floor. But they sure did a number on that trophy room. The statues that once stood, are now just a cluttered mess! After dismissing the tentacles, Elyas moves into the room to search for the weapons that he detected as magic, bringing the summoned Hound Archon with him. After 4 rounds, he finds the dagger and the short sword.
As he does this, Elyas suggests someone open the door. While it is presumed that Elays means the door nearest him, there are actually two doors the party can see that remain unopened.
Wil channels positive energy, healing his friends for 16 points.
Falco admonishes Rolth for not taking better care of the clothes the wolves tore into. Roth takes the jibe in stride as he thanks Wil for the healing. Rolth lets his rage subside and cures his fatigue. He looks to make sure the creatures they killed do not begin to stir, but they do not seem to move or change that he can tell.

DM Mark - There's a Rat in the Kitchen, what am I gonna do? d20=12 ; Friday June 23rd, 2023 2:14:06 AM
Elyas manages to sort though the mess left behind by the tentacles, and he finds the dagger and short sword he previously detected as being magic. Not wanting to spend more time on them, he wraps them in some debris so they don’t pierce his pace - they’re pretty sharp and look to be in good shape. (Elyas may recall that he spotted something magical in the kitchen as well.)
Falco looks at what is left of the trophy room and decides the Petals have certainly announced their presences. Mak keeps a wary eye out. Kiwina thanks Falco for the healing and stands ready.
Wil moves to the nearest unchecked door and looks to see if it has any traps. He announces that he finds none, and Rolth asks others to stand back as he opens the door. With the others out of the way, Rolth opens the door.
This is a garderobe (toilet), and it is fairly is large for it’s purpose. It is a stone bench with a hole that goes down into darkness - at least 20 down. It smells badly, as you might expect such a thing might. There are flies and spiders in here. Various coats and cloaks hang here on pegs in the wall.
Ayotnom is able to spot the rat. It is stitched together, like the cat that ran from here and now lies dead in the trophy room. The rat seems somewhat unconcerned that Ahyontom towers over it, and moves slowly away once discovered.

He does not try to check or go through the door, waiting until the others are ready to plan its opening.
DM Mark - "What sort of wombat puts a dunny next to the kitchen?" Monday June 26th, 2023 1:52:36 AM
With the door to the privy open, an unpleasant smell of human waste emanates from the place competing with the smell of rotting food that seems more prevalent in the kitchen. Tsak wonders why you would even put such a place right next to a kitchen.
Falco jokingly suggests Mak drop down in the privy hole to check things out. Mak is not amused, and asks Wil to check the door in the room the tentacles destroyed. Rolth agrees that Wil should check that door for traps and such, and the liontaur keeps an protective eye on Elyas as he checks for magic.
Elyas casts Detect Magic in the privy, checking the room and down in the hole. He finds no magic in the hole, but does in the room in general. After concentrating for 3 rounds he notes that of the garments hanging there, a cloak seems to be magical. In the kitchen area, he retrieves the spoon that detected as magic before.
Ayotnom notes the rat, pointing it out to the others, and then asks what to check next.
Kiwina moves into what was a trophy room. While the tentacles are gone, the effect they had on the place is evident. The taxidermied figures there have been torn apart and the stuffed heads on the walls are knocked down. He can see the unopened door in that room, but does not approach it.

DM Mark - A Voice in the Fog Tuesday June 27th, 2023 2:17:15 AM
Wil picks his way through the debris in the trophy room as he makes his way to the door. He looks for traps, but doesn’t find any. He does find that the door is locked, and the DM presumes he would also try to pick that lock, which he does successfully.
Mak moves up through the mess, as does Falco.
Elyas grabs the magical cloak and the spoon. He hustles into the trophy room with the others along with the Hound Archon. (The spoon he already knew was magical, but in the privy he had to concentrate for three rounds to determine that it was a cloak that emanated magic there. This puts his Hound Archon is down to 8 rounds more.)
Rolth will defer to Ayotnom in opening the next door. Kiwina peeks out of the shuttered window next to him. The shutters are angled down, giving him a view of the ground but not much else. He thought he saw someone's shadow move past in the daylight outside.
Ayotnom shuffles through the debris as he moves to the door. He opens it.
The first thing you notice is that the area beyond the door is shrouded in a thick fog, which obscures all sight beyond 5 feet. The next thing you notice is the smell. It’s worse here, a smell of decaying meat and death, along with the acrid smell of chemicals.
A voice from somewhere in the fog says, ”Who are you, that you break into my house and destroy my things? Are you with another house…or something else?”
Also in the distance you hear a woman crying. She faintly says between sobs, ”What - what’s happening?”
If you enter the room: Highlight to display spoiler: {You will find that this fog is very dense - so much so that it slows anything that tries to move through it. You can move through it, but at half speed.}

Kiwina suspects this is a fog spell and casts Gust of Wind. To his surprise, it has no effect on the fog.
Elyas looks at the fog, trying to puzzle out the nature of it. He listens, trying to pinpoint the location of the voice and the sobbing woman, but he’s not sure - it’s maybe 80-100 feet away?

"It's a Solid Fog spell. It limits our sight but it also will slow our movement and stop most projectiles. We need to get it out of the way.
Someone is trapped in there, we should definitely save her
Elyas is surprised to see the fog stay when Kiwina hits it with a gust spell, that would have been his first instinct as well if he had one prepared. If Wil's spell doesn't dispel it, Elyas will use his dagger to cast his own dispel magic against it. Mak considered Nevras words. "Truer words were never spoken. I too believe Gargul and all the "gods" to be imposters and just entities with immense power. Same as the Ga'al and the heartseeded. Our purpose here however isn't to debate the status of deities but or to exact any retribution for one house or another, or even to punish you. We are simply here to discover what it is the dragon wanted or might want from or if you might have information about any contact with him. We do however hope that you aren't holding anyone against their will."
DM Mark - He Foiled my Fog! Wednesday June 28th, 2023 11:31:14 AM
(D'oh! The DM messed up. I misread how solid the Solid Fog is. Thanks Ben!)
As Kiwina conjured the Gust of Wind, the fog is dispersed at the end of the round. This also means Wil and Elyas didn't need to use Dispel Magic.
From where you stand, you can see most of this large, cavernous room. The place smells like chemicals and dead and decaying bodies, and indeed there are portions of bodies in various states of decay here.
I showed most of the room for simplicity. The man in the far corner is actually just beyond Ayotnom's darkvision range. For others, you can only see as far as the light you have, starting at your lightsource - generally 20' of normal light and another 20' of dim light from your source. I'll let you judge how far you can see accordingly.

The person you believe is Nevras dismisses Gargul. Wil says that insulting Gargul is going too far, and feels a need to defend the God’s honor. Mak actually agrees with Nevras, but adds, ”We are simply here to discover what it is the dragon wanted or might want from or if you might have information about any contact with him. We do however hope that you aren't holding anyone against their will."
Wil, Falco and Elyas initially intended to dispel the Solid Fog here, but they find that Kiwina’s Gust of Wind took care of this. (DM apologies again for missing that Gust of Wind gets rid of Solid Fog.)
Elyas is likewise concerned if anyone is being held against their will. At Elyas’ direction the Hound Archon moves into the room.
Ayotnom casts Shield on himself and moves into the room, though he finds the difficult terrain slows him so he is only able to move 15’.
Kiwina activates his tattoo. Rolth does likewise, directing Nevras to keep talking.
The hulking humanoid nearest the Hound Archon attacks him with two mighty fists. The Archon is hit twice, though his damage reduction mitigates this and he only takes 10 and 4 damage from the two attacks.
The one by Ayotnom pummels the minotaur, hitting AC 35 and 37 for 17 and 23 damage (10’ reach.) He can see it is stitched together like the wolves and the rat.
The figure in the far corner remains unseen my all but Ayotnom and the Archon. Cowering beside him is a woman chained to the wall.
He sneers, ”Dragon? I care not for dragons, though animating one would be entertaining. Animating you will be entertaining, and you will be less painful if you are dead first.
The figure gestures and casts Scorching Ray at the Archon, overcoming the Archon’s spell resistance. One ray misses, but two hit inflicting 17 and 16 damage.

(Now, as far as I can tell, you have no light sources beyond some dim light filtering in from the shuttered windows, and that big room is dark. Ayotnom, Tsak, Elyas all have 60’ darkvision. Those with low light vision can see OK in the room with the shutters, but can't see much in that big room. How are the rest of you able to see? Did someone maybe cast a light spell?)
Boy it stinks in here. There is a pile of bodies, body parts, and skins in the north-east part of the room, which would explain the smell. But most of you can’t see it.
As for those large humanoids, let’s call them hulks for simplicity because they are large, hulking, stitched together figures, pieced back together from who knows what.
Wil is eager for a fight. He moves up as he directs his Spiritual Weapon forward to strike one of the large humanoids. It seems to have no effect. For Wil: Highlight to display spoiler: {(I need Wil to make a DC22 Will save.)}
Mak moves in. The floor where he stops is covered in debris, and he’s really not sure what he stepped in, but it can’t be good. He ignores the goo on his boot and shoots, but his arrow bounces off his target (AC 29). Mak’s shot provokes an AOO from the closest hulk, but it misses the archer.
Falco moves up a bit, hampered by the mess in the trophy room.
Elyas moves into the room. He casts a quicked Haste spell and is able to speed up all of his friends. Then he gestures and speaks words of power, and there is a blinding flash as electricity arcs from the farthest hulk to two others, as well as to Nevras! The electricity dances on the hulks, but it certainly doesn’t seem to bother them. Nevras on the other hand arches his back as the bolt hits him and he falls still as far as you know. (I assume Elyas intended to miss the chained woman.)
Badly damaged, Ayotnom withdraws from the stinky room.
Tsak and Esmerelda move up. He yells for Mak to move back.
Kiwina studies the fight and prepares to cast Sleet Storm if anything moves to attack Elyas.
First, the hulk1 strikes the Hound Archon, killing it. The Archon disappears as it falls. Then hulk1 takes a second swing at Mak, missing him.
Hulk2 moves south to attack Elyas, and (depending on the light) Kiwina can barely make out this movement before it strikes. He casts his readied Sleet Storm into the room. Fortunately, Kiwina does not need line of sight, only line of effect to where he centers the spell, and he does his best to center it where it won’t affect Elyas. (It covers most of the room, but misses just the eastern portion as noted by the dashed like. Trust me, I tried to place it to your best advantage while missing your friends. 40’ radius is pretty big.)
With the Sleet Storm there, hulk2 makes it’s acrobatic check and moves a bit east to swing at Elyas. While it’s mostly in the Sleet Storm, it is partly out, so it attacks at -10. Still, it manages to slam the wizard for 17 points of damage.
Mak sees the hulk1 nearest him fall prone. You hear the woman deep in the room scream.
Finally, I need Elyas and Mak to make a DC 15 fortitude save or be sickened from the smell in this room.

Falco moves out of the room to heal Ayotnom for 19 points. But as he moves, the prone creature smacks him (AOO), hitting the little owlman for 21 points of damage.
Mak quickly switches weapons and strikes at the prone creature. However, since Sleet Storm blocks all sight, he has to strike blindly from where he is into the square he can reach, so he has a 50% miss chance with his attacks. The first two miss, but the third hits for 13 damage, and the fourth attack was a miss already. (For Mak: Highlight to display spoiler: {Perception DC 15 tells Mak that there is another hulking creature that had moved in front of him and between these Y1 and Y2, but it remains hidden in the Sleet Storm.}

As Rolth sings to inspire his friends, Kiwina offers to drop his spell if someone has a plan for that. (I don’t think Kiwina can dismiss the Sleet Storm, as it is not dismissable.)
As his wounds close, Ayotnom uses Hand of the Apprentice. He is barely able to see the visible part of Y1, just enough to send his rapier at the prone creature. He stabs the thing for 5 damage.
Y1 rises from the floor. It strikes once at Mak, hitting him (AC 32) for 21 damage. Since Mak can see a part of the creature as it stands, he knows it is standing up. He can make an AOO against the part he can reach, but with a 50% miss chance because the square he actually threatens is in the Sleet Storm.

After getting hit, Elyas withdraws from combat so Y2 does not strike. However, in doing so he passes through a space threatened by Y1, and the thing makes an AOO. It strikes the wizard for 23 points of damage as he moves to the other room. Elyas asks Kiwina to bring down the Sleet Storm, and says that he plans to Dimension Door to where Nevas was.
Rolth continues his inspiring song, and offers to go with Elyas when he Dimension Doors into the room.
Falco channels energy to heal his friends for 19 points.
Wil offers to sneak around and heads into the Sleet Storm, but he doesn’t get very far. As he moves, he bumps into a large creature in the storm. Attempting to move into that creature’s space provokes an attack, but the thing is blinded and misses. Wil’s acrobatic skill is such that he does not risk falling down in the sleet and ice.
Mak steps back and readies an attack against anything that emerges from the storm. (Minor correction, Mak’s rapier is adamantine so it bypassed the hulking creature’s damage reduction.)
Kiwina says that he cannot dismiss the Sleet Storm, but that it will be gone in a few rounds.
Ayotnom uses another of his abilities to send his rapier into the room to attack. He again hits Y1, inflicting 5 points of damage.
Y4 attacks Wil, but since it cannot see it misses twice.
Y1 can see Mak, and Mak is within the creature's 10 reach so it attacks twice. Mak is hit once for 18 damage.
Y2 attempts to move forward, but fails it’s acrobatics roll and stays where it is. Still, it can attack Mak once for 20 damage.
(I rolled Tsak’s will save against a DC 22 and he rolled a 15, which failed.)
Tsak says, ”Hold on, I’m gonna try something.” He takes a 5’ step back and with a gesture and some arcane words, he unleashes Chain Lightning on Elyas. This lightning arcs to all of the Petals except for Wil, and inflicts 51 points of electrical damage. Elyas must make a DC 21 reflex save for half damage, and everyone else must make a DC 19 reflex save for half damage.
Then this new version of Tsak casts a quickened lightning bolt. From where he is he sends a line of electricity through Elyas, Falco, Ayotnom and Rolth which inflicts 42 points of electrical damage, DC 22 reflex save for half damage. Tsak’s face sneers, ”I should be able to buff out these electrical burns when I make you my servants. Or perhaps you want to kneel before me now and simply accept your fate.”
For Tsak:Highlight to display spoiler: {Tsak is not aware of any of this. In fact, he is not aware of anything - everything is peaceful and grey.}

The series of attacks made Mak wince. Bruises and electrical burns everywhere as he stood open to attack from the long reach of those hulking constructs. Stepping back into the room would expose him to whatever was happening in there and staying in here he’d have the sleet to contend with.
Moving tactically in this mess wouldn’t work, the floor had too much debris on it, so Mak had to choose his path carefully. Looking to his right he saw in the dim light that the hulk was moving in and out of the blinding sleet, so he moved closer. He wouldn’t be as exposed to the second Hulk and might actually be able to whittle away at the first one.

[Do these things have a 15 ft reach? to withdraw i moved from AF3 to AE8 then AD9. I don't see how that could have gotten a AoO from the further hulk.
Also, Tsak is right next to me and in reach of Kiwina, would we get AoOs against him to try to disrupt that spell?]
Elyas is shocked to see Tsak turn on the group, and more surprised to see him casting high level lightning spells! however he is able to dodge at least some of the damage reflex save vs chain lightning = 26 reflex save vs lightning bolt = 31, natural 20! (I've been playing too much 2E. A 20 doesn't actually prevent the damage entirely in 1E right?)
With those hits, Elyas is still in a rough spot. He steps back from Tsak to avoid another hit and casts Protection From Evil on his companion, to try to break off whatever made him do that. Tsak gets another saving throw against the mind control and is protected from further attempts
then Elyas uses another use of his Rod to quickly cast a scorching ray at the Hulk that is the most visible (Y1) with 3 rays (All vs touch AC) 16 to hit for 13 fire damage 31 to hit for 19 fire damage 25 to hit for 14 fire damage

(Responding to Ben:
PF1 doesn't have special saves on a 20.
Regarding the AOO against Elyas, these hulking monstrosities have a 10' reach. But you cannot move diagonally past a hard corner. Elyas would have to pass through AF8, which is what provoked the AOO from Y1. Technically, I could have had Y2 make an AOO since the withdraw action only protects you from the square you started in and it too can attack into AF8, but I decided to cut you some slack.
Regarding the AOOs against Tsak, I assumed you would not attack a party member until you knew what was really going on. It is highly unusual for Tsak to try to cast a spell, but that's why he said he was going to "try something". You guys do unusual stuff all the time. Also, you have to already be holding a weapon to make an AOO. I didn't recall Elyas drawing a weapon before this, but I could have missed that. That said, if Elyas has a drawn weapon and you think he'd attack Tsak, go ahead and make that AOO.
Kiwina is not holding a reach weapon, so he does not threaten Tsak's square.)

Mak moves in the difficult terrain, which provokes an AOO from Y1. But even as it swings, Mak dances gracefully and the thing misses him. Mak then stabs at it, hitting it for 21 damage.
Wil needs to get away. He tries to take a 5’ step, but moving into that mess of body parts is difficult terrain, so he has to just move. However, since neither creature could see him in the sleet he is not subject to any AOOs. As he moves, he stumbles a bit and is noticed (the creature beat your stealth roll.) Also, Wil needs to make a DC 15 fortitude save or be sickened from the smell in this room. Wil casts Confusion, which does provoke an AOO though, and its a crit for a total of 39 damage!
Bruised and battered, Elyas decides his friend is under some sort of control. He defensively casts Protection from Evil and touches Tsak, calling on his heroic reserves to do so. Tsak can make a DC 22 Will save. Then he takes a step back, and uses his Quicken rod to fire three Scorching Rays at the portion of Y1 that is visible. The rays hit, but seem to have no effect nor does the creature react to them.
Kiwina steps forward, but in this debris laden room (difficult terrain) this counts as a move action. Still, he strikes once trying to inflict nonlethal damage but misses. (Doing nonlethal damage with a lethal weapon is at -4 to hit.)
Falco channels divine power, and healing washes over the party (14 points - I assume he omitted Tsak this time.)
Rolth wonders what could have seized control of Tsak, but he’s not sure. He squeezes through the doorway to get in position to attack, channeling his rage. This provokes an AOO from Y1, and the liontaur is hit for 24 points of damage.
(Tsak’s mind blissfully wanders about in his current state of nothingness, the battle rages on.)
Thanks to Elyas, Tsak can makes another save. Unfortunately, Tsak rolls and 18, failing the save. This time Tsak defensively (DC 21, rolled 31) casts Fireball on the doorway. 27 damage to all the Petals, DC 18 Reflex save for half. Tsak voluntarily fails this save. Then this version of Tsak casts a quickened Blindness spell on Elyas - DC 23 Fortitude save negates.
It seems I forgot about Esmerelda because someone removed her from the map. The cat was also affected by the arcing electricity and takes 51 points of electrical damage, DC 19 Reflex save for half. If she stayed in that room after the lightning, she will also be affected by this fireball.
In the other room, there’s a storm and a battle.
Y1 continues attacking Mak, but it misses the wiley duelist twice!
Y2 slams Wil twice, hitting him once for 15 damage, and the second blow is a crit for 32 points of damage.
Y4 is shrouded in the storm. It manages to make its acrobatic roll and moves forward. However, it needs to squeeze to fit next to Rolth. This movement provokes an AOO from both Rolth and Wil. It managed to hit AC 20 while squeezing, inflicting 14 points of damage to Rolth.

I don't argue with the 5' being a move action in the debris. As long as it is a move action, though, Kiwina would like to have drawn his short sword while he was moving, so that he is using trident and short sword. It's a sword of subtlety, and does not improve his attack in the current situation.
Reflex = 21, saves vs fireball and loses 13 HP -- which with the 14 HP healing from Falco last round leaves Kiwina with 107 current HP
This round, Kiwina tries a full attack on Tsak, again for nonlethal damage. (This time the inspiration bonus from Rolth is in the rolls.) He does not manage higher than AC 21 this round, which would not have hit last round, so I'm hoping the 9 points (nonlethal) from last round made it through.

Mak was hurt but he wasn't down so he switched tactics, preferring a more defensive stance as he lunged, reposted, and parried his way through the battle. Twice his rapier swept across the hulk as it's blade left a deep gash and piercing stab through the tough undead flesh.

(As noted on 6/30, there is dim light in the trophy room where most folks are, and this big room is still in darkness. I’m not going to go back and undo things, but going forward please act accordingly.)
Falco yells for someone to deal with Tsak as the cleric tries to keep everyone alive by channeling energy again for 19 points.
Elyas does his best to resist the fireball, but fails and falls. (Note - Elyas still needs to roll a DC 23 Fortitude save or be blinded as well.)
Ayotnom fires a scorching ray at the creature he had been attacking, but it seems to have no effect. (Why did Ayotnom not save from the fireball last round?)
Kiwina strikes at Tsak, seeking to do nonlethal damage, and while his attacks miss he knows his hit from last round hit (noted below - thanks.)
Between the fireball and the earlier chain lightning, Esmerelda’s feline body lies still in this room and even the DM weeps a little. (I hate killing animal companions even more than PCs!)
Rolth sings and rages as he lays into his foes. He attacks Y4 for 22 points. Then he attacks Y1, and though two attacks miss he inflicts 19+22+4+7=52. With Rolth’s last blow, the hulking creature falls still. (Thanks for catching that the AOO from last round didn’t happen to Rolth.)
Wil is in a tight spot. He had hoped the fireball would affect these hulking, stitched together monstrosities, but they seem to have not been affected. He tries to hit Y4 with his hand crossbow, but using a ranged weapon from a threatened square provokes two attacks of opportunity. Y2 strikes the shadowdancer for 21 points of damage, but Y4 misses with his attack. Wil tries to take a 5’ step back, but as noted last round this area is difficult terrain and you cannot take a 5’ step in difficult terrain. He uses the dim light in this place to try to disappear, and this time he can sense that the creatures have lost sight of him.
Wil’s spiritual weapon continues to pass harmlessly through these creatures.
An ugly smile crosses Tsak’s face. He tries to cast a spell, but that smile turns to a grimace as he fails his concentration check, and the Waves of Exhaustion spell he was casting is lost! ”Arghhhhh!”. He’s not quite done though, and he casts a quickened Ray of Enfeeblement on Kiwina. Kiwina loses 7 STR, DC 22 Fort save for half (round down.)
Mak can sense that the creature before him lies still, but he cannot see in this darkness.
Y4 strikes at Rolth, though it is squeezing and a little awkward. Still, it hits Rolth twice for 16 and 25 damage.
Y2 does something strange at this point. It attacks Y4, hitting it twice.
With Y1 down, another step onto its body. It hits Mak in the darkness, and since Mak cannot see in the dark, his AC is 35-8=27, so it hits AC 30 for 21 points of damage.
Somewhere, the spirit of Tsak is blissfully unaware of all this. But his separation begins to weigh on him. He’s sure his friends are in trouble, but not sure what to do about it.

If Mak has been neutralized please let me know, otherwise all he'll be able to do is stand and get pummeled to death.
Mak had for a moment been hopeful as Falco's healing washed over him, easing bruises, smoothing abrasions, and making movement easier. He stepped back against the wall and set up a defensive posture as he tried to bat away the devastating attacks of the hulks in the darkness.

[sorry, with trying to save against the fireball I forgot to also save for blindness...]
Elyas comes to with the feeling of magical healing washing over him. he wakes up, expecting to see a Petal above him. Instead he sees nothing at all. but he can still hear the sounds of battle going on around him.
He crawls back, trying to stay out of the way of everything, drawing his bonded dagger as he moves. He isn't much good in a fight without being able to see his target, so he focuses on trying to protect himself for right now. He casts mirror image on himself using his dagger to recall the spell, creating 5 additional copies of a blind and confused wizard
He tries to recall anything he can about mind control or possession that would work like what has happened with Tsak, making him turn on his allies but also giving him spells! Knowledge Arcana = 24
the protection from evil spell clearly didn't work, even with the bonuses it gives to save against mind control, and Tsak still hadn't been able to get rid of the compulsion even though it was forcing him to attack allies. it must be something quite unique or powerful, and Elyas tries to think of other options to save them from Tsak without killing him.

DM Mark - Lighting Friday July 7th, 2023 1:16:30 AM
There seems to be some confusion about lighting in this place, and I haven’t been strictly enforcing it. I’m sensing there is some frustration from this as well, which is not my goal. Looking back, I see Kiwina cast a light spell on the doorway into the kitchen area on 6/8. So the kitchen is lit in normal light.
The trophy room has dim light that filters through the shutters.
The large workroom is in darkness.
Normal light functions just like bright light, but characters with light sensitivity and light blindness do not take penalties. Areas of normal light include underneath a forest canopy during the day, within 20 feet of a torch, and inside the area of a light spell.
In an area of dim light, a character can see somewhat. Creatures within this area have concealment (20% miss chance in combat) from those without darkvision or the ability to see in darkness. A creature within an area of dim light can make a Stealth check to conceal itself. Areas of dim light include outside at night with a moon in the sky, bright starlight, and the area between 20 and 40 feet from a torch.
In areas of darkness, creatures without darkvision are effectively blinded. In addition to the obvious effects, a blinded creature has a 50% miss chance in combat (all opponents have total concealment), loses any Dexterity bonus to AC, takes a –2 penalty to AC, and takes a –4 penalty on Perception checks that rely on sight and most Strength- and Dexterity-based skill checks. Areas of darkness include an unlit dungeon chamber, most caverns, and outside on a cloudy, moonless night.
Characters with low-light vision (elves, gnomes, and half-elves) can see objects twice as far away as the given radius. Double the effective radius of bright light, normal light, and dim light for such characters.
Characters with darkvision (dwarves and half-orcs) can see lit areas normally as well as dark areas within 60 feet. A creature can't hide within 60 feet of a character with darkvision unless it is invisible or has cover.
All the bad guys can see in the darkness. No one can see in the Sleet Storm.
Ayotnom, Tsak, and Rolth have darkvision. Elyas has darkvision, but is currently blinded. Kiwina and Falco have low light vision. For future attacks, they will have a 20% miss chance. Mak and Wil have normal vision, but are in an area of darkness, which is like being blinded unless someone brings light into the area.

Mak is frustrated by the darkness. His senses tell him about where his opponent is, and he knows where the door he entered is. He steps back to the wall and readies an attack to defend himself if he gets attacked. (Mak was not neutralized - those percentage rolls were not for Mak, except for the time he attacked into a square in the Sleet Storm. Those percentage rolls were for something else.)
Rolth continues singing as he focuses his attack on the portion of Y3 that is not in the Sleet Storm. He hits twice for 27 and 28 damage. He suggests someone try to grapple and pin Tsak.
Wil is in darkness, but he thinks he knows where the creature is in front of him. With this darkness he has a 50% miss chance. He rolls a 51. The room is briefly lit by his spell, and to his dismay he sees the searing light hit the thing and have no effect. Which is consistent with every other spell he has hit these things with, including his spiritual weapon which continues to strike with no effect. He also notices in that brief instant that the creature can now see him.
Rolth and Mak also see Wil’s spell strike the creature with no effect. Which has been the case with other spells. Interestingly though, they seem to be affected by the physical effects of the Sleet Storm.
Falco heals Elyas for 29 points.
Elyas is blinded. He crawls away and casts Mirror Image as 5 images appear around him. Elyas wracks his brain for what spell Nevras might be using to control Tsak. He suspects Nevras might be using Magic Jar. His decision to use Protection from Evil was a good one, but if this is indeed Magic Jar he knows Nevras would just try to possess someone else next. (Someone deleted Elyas from the map. Normally you can only crawl 5’, but I just put him back on the map in the closest square.)
Kiwina doggedly continues his nonlethal attacks against Tsak. He hits the ranger turned necromancer for 8+15+6 nonlethal damage. (Going forward, in this dim light he has a 20% miss chance unless he has something that give him darkvision.)
Ayotnom moves up, but has to squeeze to do so. His grapple attempt against Tsak fails though. (Be sure to use the squeezing rules if you cannot occupy your full space.)
Tsak’s soul remains in it’s grey state, which is beginning to feel like a prison.
Tsak/Nevras again tries to concentrate to avoid being hit as he casts Insanity, hoping to perhaps turn Kiwina into less of a threat. Unbelievably for him he fails and loses that spell too (concentration 25.) In his rage he casts a Quickened Enervation against Kiwina, and a black ray striked the centaur causing him to lose 4 levels!
In the other room, Y2 can now see Wil since he cast his spell. In its berserk state it randomly decides between Wil and Y2. This time it pummels Wil twice, one of which is a crit. Wil takes 18 and 33 damage.
Y4 is still squeezing. It hits Rolth twice, and the first is a crit! He takes 34 and 19 damage. Then Y3 strikes at Rolth, hitting him for 23 and 17 damage.

Although he feels suddenly uninspired, Kiwina does not know what has happened in the other room. He is also suddenly weakened, and feeling a bit desperate.
He might be able to do something about the darkness of the room (he has low light vision), as he targets the shutters with his hoof attacks. (Attacking the shutters he hits AC 17 and 16 for 8 and 7 damage -- if he suffers the 20% miss chance on these attacks, then only one hits.) Maybe that will let some light in. Rolth collapses next to Mak, and his song of inspiration ends. At the same time Wil collapses in the darkness somewhere.
Mak sees Rolth fall and yells, ”Retreat!” He hopes the liontaur is not dead. He calls on his heroic reserves and reaches into his pocket to grab his goblin seal, breaking it to heal Rolth’s body for 9 points. Then he grabs onto Rolth as he activates his Cape of the Mountebank to Dimension Door outside. (Trying to resolve this the best I can - pull out goblin seal (move action), activate goblin seal (standard action), activate Cape (standard action/hero point.)
But something went wrong! Mak finds himself in foyer where the party first entered this house. (Something blocked his teleportation, so I moved Mak and Rolth’s body as far as I could.) The jarring sensation of being blocked by … something inflicts 5 points of damage to Mak. Unfortunately, it does not damage Rolth because he’s dead.
Falco was ready to cast Breath of Life, but Rolth disappeared before he could do so. He grabs Elyas arm to guide the blind mage out, telling him it’s time to go.
Elyas says, "We have to get out of here and regroup! He's used a Magic Jar spell on Tsak. there's a gem or something with Tsak inside of it somewhere close, and the wizard is in Tsak's body. We need to move out of range of the gem so one of us doesn't get nabbed next. Get close to me, I can jump us outside." Elyas casts a quickened (last charge?) Protection from Evil on himself. He asks if anyone can restore his sight, but he does not leave. Instead, he begins casting a spell.
Kiwina kicks the window and shatters the wooden shutters. Light streams into the trophy room, causing motes of dust and debris to suddenly light up as they dance in the air! This in turn allows dim light into the entry of the larger workroom, though most of the cavernous workroom remains cast in darkness.
Then Kiwina attacks Tsak, hitting him once for 8 nonlethal damage.
Ayotnom is no longer squeezing. He calls on his heroic reserves and reaches his burly minotaur arms forward and grapples Tsak. In doing so, Ayotnom pulls Tsak next to him. Now, both Ayotnom and Tsak have the grappled condition.
Tsak/Nevras tries to cast a spell. This requires two concentration checks, one for the grapple and another to avoid an AOO. Though he manages to cast in the grapple (39) he then fails his second roll (24). As a result, Ayotnom does NOT need to save against Baleful Polymorph. This proves to be a bit of a disappointment to Tsak/Nevras. ”Arghhhhh! Let go of me!”
In the other room, hulk Y2 has gone a little nuts. He strikes Y4 next to him, hitting him once for 15 damage.
Y4 snarls at Y2, but he has his orders. He no longer needs to squeeze, and he strikes at Ayotnom, hitting him twice for 14 and 16 damage.
Y3 moves up a bit toward the door, but cannot do much.
Tsak begins to panic a bit. He can tell he’s trapped somewhere, and he doesn’t like it.
For Rolth and Wil, a strange thing happens. Highlight to display spoiler: { The awful stench of this place vanishes and they feel a sort of lightness as they drift up toward the ceiling of the room. They realize they are in the workroom, but everything is an odd sort of twilight - grey and washed out and evenly lit. Even the Sleet Storm is hazy here, but still hard to see through.
In stark contrast to the grayness, they see the area is shot through with red rivulets, almost like small veins of some vast organism. Rolth and Wil can see each other, or rather they sense each other but they don’t look like themselves in their gray, wispy forms. And there are other things here as well, dark things. There are many dark, swirling forms in the air here. There is a malevolence in their eyes, but it is not directed at Wil or Rolth. In fact, they almost feel accepted by these things, or maybe pittied. Looking down, they see three large hulking stitched together creatures, and they are fighting.
Below, they can see Wil’s broken body laying atop a mound of bodies and body parts. They know this is Wil, but somehow no longer Wil. There is no sign of Rolth’s body here. Which is just as well, because the sight of Wil’s body there makes them a little sad. It seems so small and helpless next to these hulking forms.}

[OOC: yes that last round was the final use of the quicken rod for today. as noted in my spells and items list below.]
Elyas finishes casting his spell. another hound archon appears, standing behind the two larger petals. It is not in range to actually attack anyone this turn, but possibly more importantly it spreads an aura of 'magic circle against evil' around itself, protecting the petals nearby from any more domination or possession effects. if you don't have a greater deflection bonus already, +2 deflection AC vs evil in addition to the mental protections. [OOC: and I believe should give Tsak another will save to shunt off the possession?]

The house of Nevras Canthil is a bit of a mess. Not that it was ever a tidy place, but it will probably never be the same.
Falco looks around and considers his options. He casts Silence on Tsak. Everything within 20’ of Tsak falls quiet, and this blocks any sound coming from the battle. Mak calls out from the front of the house, but only Elyas and Falco can hear him.
Mak then drags Rolth out of the house. This causes some shocked stares from the townsfolk that had gathered in curiosity outside Nevras house. They want no part of all this, and they run! (I placed Mak and Rolth away from the house - correct?)
Kiwina tries to speak but makes no sound. He attacks the grappled (AC 22) Tsak, trying to subdue his possessed friend. He hits twice for 7 and 5 nonlethal damage. (You quoted part of the flanking rules, but this still applies - “you get a +2 flanking bonus if your opponent is threatened by another enemy character or creature on its opposite border or opposite corner.”)
Tsak suddenly finds himself back in his body, and wow - his body really hurts. What the heck happened while he was gone? To his surprise, Kiwina seems to be whaling on him, and and Ayotnom is trying to wrestle with him. Tsak tries to ask his friends what the heck they’re doing. It’s about this time that he notices that Esmerelda lays crumpled and burned in the corner of the room.
Ayotnom says something, but Tsak can’t hear. He can’t really even think as he absorbs the loss of his long time companion. Momentarily stunned by the loss of his cat, he offers no resistance as Ayotnom drags him from the room. How could Esmerelda be dead?
This provokes an AOO from the hulking thing in the doorway, but it misses. (Ayotnom took damage last round - just a reminder.)
For Ayotnom: Highlight to display spoiler: {I need Ayotnom to make a DC22 Will save.}
Now, this suddenly become a bit of a problem for Elyas. Everything falls silent around the mage. He cannot complete his spell and it is lost.
Y4 sees Aytonom vacate the space in front of him, and he squeezes through the door. This gives Kiwina an AOO at AC 25. Once through, it attacks the Hound Archon (random roll to decide opponent.) It hits the AC 19 Archon (not evil) for 18 and 19 damage.
The Archon attacks back, missing twice.
Y2 is just mad. It makes an AOO at Y4 as it leaves, hitting it for 25-5 damage. It’s still pissed about something, so it moves up and attacks Y3, hitting it for 27-5 damage.
And while orders are orders, when somebody’s just smacking you for no reason, you smack back. Y3 smacks Y2, hitting the berserk hulk twice for 16 and 17 damage.
And now we have a monster mash. —------------------------------------ Meanwhile, Rolth and Wil float in the air, light and no longer encumbered by physical bodies. Wil speaks, or tries to, but nothing really comes out. At least not in a way Rolth can hear. It comes across as more of an emotion of sadness and regret.
As the two look around, the rivulets in the air pulse a dull red. And these things around Rolth and Wil - spirits of some kind you would guess. They are twisted and sullen and angry. Is this what Rolth and Wil will become?
These spirits seem to be whispering something at the two, just beyond hearing, yet Rolth and Wil still understand the intent. They crowd around, obscuring all else, beckoning the pair to join them. It seems so easy, easy to join them in their hate, their thirst for revenge, their desire to inflict pain. Join them….
Do Rolth and/or Wil resist this call?

Mak stood over Rolth's body with sword in hand and ready to fight off anything that came out of the building. Meanwhile he pulled out a potion and drank it down. Bruises and abrasions eased somewhat, but he still felt battered and defeated.
That the locals were running made him feel better at least. All that was left was to catch his breath and hope his friends exited soon or else he might have to go back in.

Elyas finds his spell cut short as he can't speak now! Great. no sight, no voice... am I dead? I don't know how i would even tell. I can't even call out for a hand to guide me...
He starts slowly walking, hoping that he remembers which way the door is, reaching out to feel for the doorframe to the foyer.
He doesn't go far before his voice returns. He had a plan to deal with the necromancer, but that silence aura is going to cause issues. He can't tell his companions not to come closer with the silence, so he can't really risk using his last summon spell of the day. and can't see anything for other spells... so he sits back and waits, hoping the others will help him out fo here when it is time. maybe someone has a way to remove his blindness.
Meanwhile the archon attacks the creatures coming through the door. it doesn't do much to the sturdy creatures. at least it is preventing possession near itself. if the Petals just stay near it.

The sight of Esmerelda's limp body hurts Tsak more than any bruise or broken bone. At last able to breathe he lets out a sob of pure anguish. No-one is speaking and the ranger doesn't really understand whats been happening for the last few minutes.
What happened to Esmerelda? Where's Rolth? Where's Mak? Where's Wil? What happened in there?
Rolth Niheow (BatMark) (-60/114) HP | AC: 19; Touch: 12; CMD: 30 Tuesday July 11th, 2023 6:58:53 PM
Rolth scoffs inwardly at these cowardly spirits. "I worship Domi the Defender, not JankyAssassin or whatever that vengeful beast is called." He tries to channel positive energy to drive them off, not knowing whether death has severed his divinely magical connection to Domi or not. Rolth is also saddened that he is no longer there to protect his friends, or sing them exciting songs, or generally be all speechifying. He is gratified that at least Tsak has shaken off the evil wizard's spell, although he worries what else might come next to harm his friends. And poor Elyas, blind and lost in the necromancer's lair. What tragedy will come next?

Mak stands guard over his fallen friend as he drinks a healing potion.
Elyas is having a bad day. First he can’t see, now he can’t talk. I mean, his day is not as bad as Wil and Rolth, but it’s certainly annoying for a wizard. He fumbles his way blindly to the doorway, hoping someone will lend a guiding hand.
The summoned Archon valiantly holds the door. It attacks the hulking thing before it, but does not hit.
Falco moves in the silence, trying to find where Mak is. For Falco: Highlight to display spoiler: {I need Falco to make a DC22 Will save.}
Crushed by the loss of Esmerelda, Tsak offers no resistance to Ayotnom’s dragging him out of the house. He calls out, but cannot even hear his own voice in the silence. Ayotnom silently moves toward the doorway with Tsak, as the minotaur heroically makes his saving throw.
Kiwina calls on his heroic reserves as he strikes back at the hulking creature that moved in. He hits for 5 damage. Then he grabs Esmerelda’s body and squeezes his way out.
Y4 strikes at the Archon, hitting it for 16 and 25 damage.
Y2 thrashes about and strikes Y3, hitting once for 21-5 damage. Y3 is not putting up this this and strikes back at Y2, hitting him back for 21-5 damage.
Strangely, no one knows the fate of Wil. Last the party heard he was venturing into the larger room and disappeared in the darkness, but the party does not know what happened to him after that. —------------------------------------ The spirits of Rolth and Wil float amidst the greyness and the malevolent spirits about them. They can see that they are also wispy spirits like these, but a bit lighter, not grey and black and twisted. Not yet.
Wil is still filled with his own sadness. He rejects their call to hatred and vengeance, seeking only to go on to an afterlife.
Rolth likewise rejects the offer of these spirits, admonishing him though they cannot hear. He reaches for the divine to channel energy, but he grasps nothing in the process.
As the two float with these spirits and resist their call, these tortured spirits move away. Still these creatures call to them “Join us” they wordlessly whisper. “Give in to the hate, Embrace vengeance. Join us…”
These spirits move, but you’re not sure how. (Make a DC 24 Will save to be able to move each round. It will be DC 23 the following round and so on.)
In the greyness of this place, the only color is the pulsing red rivulets. They seem to go from a dark red to a brighter red, and are a strong call on your souls, beaconing Rolth and Wil, offering release. It would be an act of will to stay with his friends. (Make a DC 1 Will save if you want to to resist being drawn to the Woldsblood rivulets. It will be DC 2 the next round, and so on.)

Mak steps to the doorway and calls to his friends. He holds the door open as he looks and listens. Mak’s voice doesn’t carry though, and he finds that while he sees his friends move, he cannot hear their movements. And there is something wrong with Elyas - Mak realizes the mage cannot see!
Everyone within 20' of Tsak cannot hear or be heard.
Kiwina makes his way toward the door carrying Esmerelda’s body and guiding Elyas. Elyas moves with Kiwina, trusting the centaur to be his eyes for now. (How long will Kiwina's Sleet Storm last?)
Falco resists … something. He rebukes whatever he was resisting.
Ayotnom warns against trying another frontal assault as he moves forward, pushing Tsak ahead of him.
The Hound Archon attacks the hulking beast for 12-5 damage and then moves 5’.
Y4 attacks the Hound Archon, hitting it twice for 26 and 25 damage. (On odd thing with there these two are - Y4 has cover (-4 AC) from the Archon, but the Archon does not have cover from Y4 because of it’s reach and location.)
Back in the other room, there some whomping going on. Y2 continues his berserk fury against Y3, hitting him twice, one of which is a crit, for 39-5 and 20-5. Y2 falls before he can strike back.

And they see below as a body sits up from the pile of bodies. It looks around, assessing things. Then it moves past the battling hulks and unlocks the great stone doors. With him is a tiny flying figure. It unlocks and opens the stone door.

A gaunt, pale figure steps out into the light and yells. His face is twisted into a grimace of rage. ”ARGHHH. YOU’VE SPOILED EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING! AND FOR WHAT? FOR WHAT?”

Elyas somehow avoids some of the lightning blast, probably just by being close to the wall (Reflex = 24).
[ooc Is the dang silence spell dismissed yet? assuming we would have had time for that in the extra round it took Nevras to open the door and come outside. I'm going to act as if it is, if it isn't there isn't much i can do anyways.]
Elyas is still badly hurt, and can't see to directly fight so he pulls back inside the doorway and begins casting a spell, hopefully from safety.

Mak still had his bow in his left hand and putting the sword away in his glove was easy and effortless, so when the wizard walked out into the street and cast his lightning attack Mak yelled out in pain. Burned and singed as he was Mak drew his bow and fired at the wizard. Five arrows streaked across the distance between them in glorious retribution for what he had done to Mak's friends, but Mak was too blinded by hatred to pay attention to the results of his attacks as he drew and prepared to fire again.

Falco sees the lightning arch and dismisses the silence spell. {ooc: Sorry, I thought I did that but reading back did not.} "Hold on Elyas, I can heal you in a moment."

Kiwina (Steve M) below/131 HP | Current AC:22 or 26 vs AoO | HeP: 2 | Status: awake ! Swim 60' d20+11=13 ; d20+21=22 ; Friday July 14th, 2023 11:43:37 AM
Kiwina tries to dodge the lightning, but in his weakened state does not even come close. Sheathing his sword, he charges the mad magician. As he moves, his weapon remains a trident -- he is frustrated that it's not a lance, but this is a consequence of him drawing the sword earlier in battle.
He's angry, and he really wants this blow to land (spending last hero point, since one won't be enough to put off a fatal blow).
And with all that, he misses (natural 1 on the roll), stumbling to a stop in front of Nevras.
Current HP 28/111

In fairness and to address the email thread, we'll let things stand as far as where people are, but only Ayotnom and Kiwina are affected by the Chain Lightning. Tsak, Mak and Elyas are not affected.
