Rolth gives in to the lure of the red rivulets of Woldsbloos, and his spirit is whisked away.
Wil is furious at the appearance of Nevras. He wills his spirit forward and swings. His sword and arm pass through the necromancer, and Wil can see him momentarily shiver from the effect (Nevras is at -1 on his next roll.) Wil is pretty sure it was any part of him moving through Nevras that causes this, not a sword strike.
Wil must make a DC 18 Will save to be able to move this round, but no more than 30’ total in a round. Wil must also make a DC 4 Will save to resist touching the pulsing red rivulets. —------------------------------------ In his blinded state, Elyas hears spellcasting and the crack of lightning. He hunkers back and begins casting a spell. (Note, per second DM post Elyas DID NOT take damage from the Chain Lightning.)
Mak lets fly several arrows, and they all hit their mark. Nevras takes 100 points of damage!
Falco dismisses the silence spell on Tsak, and gets ready to heal someone next.
Kiwina’s takes a lot of electrical damage, but still he heroically charges Nevras. That lighting must’ve affected him more than he thought and he stumbles at the last moment and his blow goes wide.
Tsak channels his sorrow into fury and charges the mage, drawing his weapon as he goes.
Ayotnom heroically saves against the lightning, but only barely. He moves to cover.
The muted sound of a battle you cannot see can be heard from inside that large room.
Nevras shrieks in rage as he defensively casts a spell and avoids provoking an attack from Kiwina. Mak must make a DC 19 Will save or be blinded. Then Nevras moves 5’ away from Kiwina.
At this point, after the lighting and after seeing Nevras filled full of arrows, that poor woman that was once chained to the wall bolts from the doorway. She screams as she runs out of sight behind a building. But you know where she went because she’s still screaming.

Mak took a step towards Nevras and grabbed the first of his next set of arrows. As he pulled the first two out to put into his bow his vision started to fade. Something was affecting him badly, but Mak tried to ignore the feeling and target the mage with his narrowing vision. Two arrows in the bow as the Archer concentrated on his target. His focus seemed to sharpen and vision clear as he released those arrows.
Five more arrows streaked out from Mak's bow, two at once, then three more in rapid succession and a fifth that clipped the side of the building and went wide. All but one found their mark, but Mak wasn't sure what they were dealing with here. Surely the necromancer had some kind of wizardry functioning that let him take that last round of arrows, much less this next set.

A huge earth elemental springs from the ground. No point in being subtle anymore, everyone around can see the lightning and hear the screaming woman.
The elemental moves to where it can reach Nevras (I am asusming without sight i wouldn't be able to summon it already close enough for a full attack, but wherever it is it moves then attacks once)

He was overjoyed the sorcerer was hit and was eager to meet him in this floating realm to slice him multiple times. The Petals have had about enough of this guy.
Mak lets fly a volley of arrows. Thwip, thwip, thwip, thwip - four arrows sink into Nevras. He jerks with each shot and falls dead.
Elyas summons a huge Earth Elemental and orders it to attack. You hear the grinding sounds of rock on rock as it moves. It raises a massive stone arm and slams the body of Nevras. Now it’s a mess.
Falco runs out of the house and calls down the Warper Sar’s holy fire on the body. Now it’s a burnt mess.
Not wanting to be left out, Tsak brings his Falchon down on the burnt mess. Tsak is comforted to know that Esmerelda would have approved. Now Nevras is two halves of a burnt mess.
Kiwina looks at the two halves of a burnt mess. Yech. He moves to the open door and looks into the cavernous room, and his nostrils are assaulted again by that awful stench. He sees two large Flesh Golems exchanging blows in the dim light. Y4 (which is actually in that other room) falls. Y2 turns around, enraged, looking for something else to destroy. It sees Kiwina.
Ayotnom casts Heroism on himself, and feels a bit recharged.
Kiwina can see that the once screaming woman is being tended to by a couple of people. The woman shakes and seems to be in shock.
Here and there, some townsfolk again peer around corners. One brave young lad ventures close to Rolth. He gently lifts the liontaur's head, brushing dirt from his mane, and slides a piece of cloth between his head and the ground. —------------------------------------ Wil’s spirit watches as a black spirit emerges from the two halves of a burnt mess that was Nevras Canthil. It is quickly swept away in a red rivulet of Woldsblood and is gone. This is mildly disappointing for Wil, and he was hoping to torment Nevras in the afterlife. This makes him think of the shriveled, twisted spirits in the room he left. They seemed to be consumed by a hatred of Nevras, and he certainly doesn’t want to end up like them.

Hearing the sounds of battle, Elyas feels his way along the house and moves that direction. Both the elemental and Mak inform Elyas that Nevras is dead. Fortunately, no one describes to Elyas just how dead Nevras is. Elyas tells the Elemental to stand guard at the door and smack anything that comes out.
Mak checks his arrows and positions himself where he can cover the doorway.
Falco calls for his friends to gather around so he can heal them, but that did not happen - yet.
Tsak gathers up the body of his cat. He looks at the two halves of a burnt mess that was Nevras. He can see there is a dagger, a crystal, and other bits of gear in the mess. He asks if anyone knows where Wil is, and says he’d like to get the bodies of the dead back to the Rose.
Ayotnom comes from behind the corner of the house, ready for battle.
Kiwina tells everyone there’s still a creature in there. He steps back from the doorway, ready to deal with this thing should it come out.
—------------------------------------ Wil’s spirit drifts back in, looking for those wretched spirits he saw. To his surprise, they seem to be touching the red rivulets one by one and disappearing! He would surmise that these things were tied here by their desire for vengeance, and with Nevras gone the spirits have no more reason to be here.

The DM assumes the elemental will go toe to toe with this thing, with Mak firing arrows and others helping as well. Soon the last flesh golem is dead. This place quiet. And stinky.
You can see Wil’s body a ways in there in the dim light.
The townsfolks there pull back with a huge earth elemental knocking around, but they don’t run. They just peer from behind the corners of buildings. Maybe we can do something about Esmerelda as well, if that's possible." Mak said as he tried to give Tsak some hope about the eventual outcome.
Mak squared his shoulders and set his weapons in neutral positions and turned to the townsfolk. Doing this without Rolth was going to be hard so he took a moment to get his thoughts in order before speaking.
"Everyone, it seems your neighbor was killing and using the body parts of your fellow townspeople to make evil constructs. Miss," Mak said directing his words towards the woman Nevras had held captive. "We heard you yelling for help, can you tell us more about what happened?"

Kiwina brings Wil's body out before any searching of the remainder of the place. "If there are authorities here who would arrest us, they should have arrested Nevras long ago. Anyone looking to avenge him will just attack."
Kiwina opens the other stone door, both to help air out Nevras's room and so people can see what's there. As they go through the place, he also opens the shutters on rooms after they have been searched.
Perception for searching = 29
Aside from enervation, the effects on Kiwina wear off within a few minutes.
Tsak puts his hand on Elyas' shoulder to help guide his friend. Hang on a sec, I've got a couple of potions in here that might help?

Mak asks Tsak and Kiwina to search Nevras’ place, and to put any bodies or things in the portable hole. Mak explains to the townsfolk there, “Everyone, it seems your neighbor was killing and using the body parts of your fellow townspeople to make evil constructs.” He asks the woman what she knows about what happened there.
Satisfied his elemental can handle things, Elyas asks Tsak to tell him what happened. He does not like the helpless feeling of being blinded.
guides Elyas and tells him Rolth, Esmerelda and Will were killed, and given Wil’s personalities it counts for many more.
Falco assures the mage that he can heal his blindness later, and heals his wounds for now (20 hit points back.)
Kiwina retrieves Wil’s body and brings it out. Then he goes back in to check the place. He opens the other large stone door and the window shutters to let in some light and air. But the place still stinks.
Ayotnom says he almost died too, if not for his monk abilities.
As Kiwina and Tsak (and perhaps others) search the place, they confirm it’s a mess. That kitchen is a mess and the pile of bodies and parts in the large workroom doesn’t help.
A search of the house will take a few minutes and will reveal a stack of papers you don’t have time to read through, a few books, a couple of spellbooks. A search of Nevras body revealed a dagger and crystal. He also has a couple of sturdy pouches with some things in them and some clothing and gear that someone may want to cast detect magic on.
The crowd responds to Mak. He will learn that the people here could smell bad smells coming from the place, but no one investigated. He seemed to be a person of means and had occasional visitors. He would receive strange parcels, some pretty big, at all hours of the day. Occasionally something would be loaded on a wagon and taken away. He kept to himself, and he made people around here nervous. They are disgusted with proof he used bodies, but not shocked.
The woman will tell Mak that she and her brother worked down by the docks, but avoids saying what kind of work they did. They were lured here by Nevras with promise of payment. Once inside, they were chained up. They got the impression that Nevras intended to use them in his work, in particular desiring their brains for his study. This nearly drove them mad with fear for each other. The women's name is Laren, and her brother was named Chilten. She will say that Chilten was possessed and was killed by lightning when the party came in. —------------------------------------ Wil finds he cannot affect physical things in the living world, but that when his spirit touches or passes through someone, he can give them a chill or warm feeling, and can grant them -1 or +1 on their next roll.
Wil can move up to 30’ in a round. Wil must also make a DC 9 Will save to resist touching the pulsing red rivulets.

Mak wasn't quite sure how to proceed, but this woman might be targeted by Nevras' associates so he decided he'd overlook whatever her profession was and try to set things right.
"Here, Take this." Mak said as he pressed his pouch into her hand. Inside was 14gp, 16sp, and 45cp. "It's all I have at the moment, but if you visit the Gillded Lily at the dock later I'd like to offer you more for your help back there. Whether you were aware of it or not, your actions made a large difference to us."
Even as Mak was speaking he started to wonder if the mage could have possessed this woman and still lived within her. In addition to the money pouch he handed her a dagger and then turn to head back into the house, but alert in case she might try to attack him....a test as it were.

Kiwina uses detect magic to help with the search, and puts what seems valuable or worth further investigation into the portable hole. (Perception = 34 but should only be 30 with the enervation) But he is not keen on staying here long with the bodies and the potential for Nevras to have had allies.
"Where to? Back to the harbor, or to find a cleric of Gargul?" Kiwina isn't sure he really trusts clerics of Gargul, what with the family members he travels with.

DM Mark - "Where to? Back to the harbor, or to find a cleric of Gargul?" Friday July 21st, 2023 2:44:12 AM
Tsak and Kiwina search the house. Kiwina uses Detect Magic to make sure no magic is left behind, and uses his sharp eye to note any other items of value. In addition to things you’ve collected previously, Kiwina’s Detect Magic shows several items on Nevras body, and while those items were dirty to start with they were made worse by the grizzly nature of his death - you’ll wanna clean those things up a bit.
The large, cavernous room is where Nevras does his taxidermy work and other experimentation. The place smells like chemicals and dead and decaying bodies, and indeed there are portions of bodies in various states of decay here as well as several bodies jumbled near the rear of the place. In fact, it is on this pile of dead bodies where Nevras’ lifeless body lay while he used Magic Jar to possess others.
Mak offers the Laren money, and given her profession she initially misunderstands and refuses. Mak assures her this is a kindness and for her help with Nevras, and that more will be provided later for her help. He also gives her a dagger to protect herself. She understands and is very grateful. She is still quite shaken up, and very upset about her brother Chilten’s death. She would like to see to his body. The Petals will pull out Chilten’s body for her. Laren will use Mak’s money to pay for a cart and an escort to the docks from among the townsfolk that have come out.
The search of the house takes several minutes. As Kiwina and Tsak search the house, Mak, Ayotnom and Falco notice some more townsfolk seem to be attracted to the scene and are asking others what happened and what’s going on. Ayotnom opens the portable hole and starts going through the items found, but this attracts a good deal of attention, so he thinks it might be best to wait until later. (Spellcraft requires careful study of each item for 3 rounds. I will list out the items and their properties later - Ayotnom had some good rolls. I will also list other wealth found here.)
As Kiwina finishes his search, he asks where the Petals want to go next and how they will find a cleric of Gargul. (Of course, any cleric of sufficiently high level can cast Raise Dead. Falco is of sufficiently high level.)

As the Petals are about to leave, six men and two women show up. They are dressed in black from head to toe and seem to be well armed, except for one that carries a dagger and holds a staff. As they do so, the townsfolk melt away. One man steps forward. He has a few scars on his face. He looks you over and any casual observer can see you have been through much. There are a few dead things here as well, which he seems to ignore.

Mak brushed some of the bloody grime from his chest and removed his glove to offer his hand to Yelzez. "It's a pleasure to meet a representative of the prince. "We lost some of our number and returning to the docks and our vessel would be best so that the Petals and their crew can mourn and make plans for the coming weeks. If it's ok with the Prince we shall call on him midafternoon tomorrow?" Mak asked. "We would appreciate an escort to the docks once we've collected our people and that which Nevras took from us." Mak finished.
After shaking the man's hand the duelist put his glove back on and assisted the group in collecting the last of the things they'd come for. (All Nevras tomes and documents.) he also kept an eye out for the scrap from the dragon the homonculus had taken.

Tsak lets the others do the talking. He's not sure what to do with the bodies of Rolth and Esmerelda. He figures some sort of pyre for Rolth, presumably there are priests of Domi in Dirt City who can help with that. He supposes the priests will object to treating Esmerelda in the same way as to them she's just an animal. He'd like to bury her in the Taur Isles, but there's no way to transport her body there. He won't just leave her in the street or throw her overboard in the harbor. When he gets a chance he'll talk to the petals to see if anyone has any suggestions.

Kiwina does not object to being escorted by Yelzez and his patrol, as long as they are allowed to pick the destination. (He assumes the Petals are in "protective custody," whether that is stated or not.)
"I know it's not our concern, but may we ask what will be done with the bodies that the owner of this house has collected?" Kiwina asks this to make sure that Yelzez is aware of the contents of the house as well as to confirm they won't just be abandoned. If Yelzez doesn't say they will be taken care of in some way, Kiwina suggests they head to a temple before returning to the ship.

DM Mark - "We would appreciate an escort to the docks." Monday July 24th, 2023 3:42:04 AM
I forgot about the homunculus, but when Nevras died, it decided it was the master here now. As Kiwina and Tsak searched the place it shrieked for them to leave it’s things alone and attacked the pair. With an AC of 14 and 11 HP, Kiwina and Tsak would have easily killed it. You will find the page you had handed to the homunculus when you first knocked on the door.
Mak greets this Master Yelzez respectfully. Neither he nor his eight guards wear any insignia - only all black leathers. He says the Petals will meet with the Prince at midafternoon tomorrow, and that they would appreciate an escort to the docks. Elyas echos this and adds that without his sight he will be slow going.
Falco channels energy once more and heals his friends. He offers to guide Elyas on the way back. Yelzez tells Falco, ”That will not be necessary.” He points to the woman in their company with the staff. ”Gelga, handle this.” The woman begins a summoning spell, and soon a horse with a saddle is conjured and Elyas is helped onto the magical steed. She hands the reins of the horse to Falco to lead.
Tsak ponders what to do with the bodies of Rolth, Wil and Esmerelda. He asks the Petals for suggestions on this.
Kiwina asks Yelzez what is to be done with the bodies in Nevras workroom. Yelzez frowns and directs two of his guards to check the house. A couple minutes later the two emerge, looking rather ill and pale. ”Ugh, that place is disgusting. But the centaur is right - there is a pile of bodies and parts.” He tells them to stay behind to secure the house for now.
Ayotnom finds it odd that there seems to be no presence of the Darts just now, though this is their territory. At least he doesn’t see any representatives from the Darts.
(The DM assumes you placed the three bodies in the portable hole for now.)
The Petals indicated they are returning to their ship. Master Yelzez will take the lead, and his now six guards will follow behind the Petals. He does not go in the most direct route. He winds your group up past the Temple of Wardd with their games of chance. He proceeds down through the Full Moon Market and over through Garrote Square.
At this point, a dwarf you’d seen before steps out of the shadows, flanked by a couple humans. He smiles as he says to the Petals, “Well, well, well. Looks like you’re back and wandering around. We’d like to have a word with you.” His tone carries a threat. But before you can reply, those Yelzez’ six guards move up as Master Yelzez responds in an even tone, ”Choose carefully Harroc. The Knives can address their concerns with these people through the Prince.” Harroc is not happy about this, but says nothing. He signals, and about 6 others step out of the shadows and follow Harroc as he leaves.
Yelzez now travels with three of his guards up with him and three behind the Petals.
Continuing on, you pass through the Midnight Bazaar and garner some looks. The usual hawkers seem to fall quiet. You get a lot of concerned looks as you pass. You march past the Prince’s Castle and on past Grubbertown. The grubbers melt away as your group passes, the usual beggars silent. The Petals get some looks of concern and some worry and sympathy mixed in as they pass. This is a bit puzzling, as the bodies of Rolth, Wil and Esmerelda are in the portable hole.
Eventually you reach the docks.
There, you see two guards clad in black that nod to Yelzez. You also see large chains alongside your mooring ropes that secure The Rose to the docs now.
Yelzez says, ”Until tomorrow then. Send work with one of the guards here so we may send an escort to the Prince’s Castle.” Unless you have questions for him, he and the six leave. Two guards clad in black remain. In a few hours they are replaced with new guards.
As noted before, Ayotnom can now identify the items found in Nevras’ house.

He is not entirely thrilled with what he hears about negotiating with Gargul and the problems (negative levels) some spells entail. He does remark, however, that they could reincarnate Wil as something more useful than a human, making sure he's in Mak's presence when he does.
He looks at the manner in which the ship is chained to the dock, unconcerned if it has resulted in no damage to the ship.
And he has a restless night. The lack of plans for how they will care for their companions disturbs him, and he is not willing to commit the bodies to this place. He decides that the next day he will seek out the Catacombs and look for means to preserve the bodies until they are back in the Taur Isles if they do not seek out a cleric able to restore their friends first. Assuming their friends want to be restored -- maybe Falco would be able to find that out.

He continues, "What do we do about bringing back those we've lost? We certainly have the diamonds to do it with we just need a cleric who can. Do you think if we inquired of the guards to send for a cleric of Gargul strong enough to cast the necessary spell post haste we could bring them back?"
DM Mark - "What do we do about bringing back those we've lost?" Tuesday July 25th, 2023 1:08:15 AM
The party returns with their escort to The Rose. Ramsey is a bit exercised when you get there. ”Oh, Cap’n Kiwina and the rest of you! You can see what they did to my ship. They just come aboard. They asked first, but when I said they oughta wait for you, they said they were boarding under the authority of the Prince of Thieves, which didn’t give me no assurances, I’ll say. Then they put them chains on The Rose. No real harm, but I don’t like having the ship chained here. And then they put two guards there, all dressed in black. And they don’t answer no questions about nothing. So, I’m sure glad you folks are back.”
Aboard, the Petals see to their things and rest. Tsak climbs into the crow’s nest for a bit before coming back down to drink a toast to companions that died.
Mak has a rough night. He kept going over the events of the day and walked the deck when he couldn’t sleep.
Elyas sleep is haunted by the vision of Tsak casting spells. He wakes a few times, and each time is unnerved to realize he still cannot see. He looks forward to having his blindness cured.
Kiwina looks at the large chains that hold The Rose fast to the docks. He can see they are not as tight as the mooring ropes, so they are not causing any damage. As he looks closer, he can see these chains are made of adamantine! He asks Falco about what can be done to restore their lost comrades. His sleep is restless. He does not look forward to what tales say may be a difficult meeting with Gargul, and he wonders if perhaps they will be reincarnated as something else?
Ayotnom wonders where the Petals might find a cleric that can bring fallen party members back to life.
The morning is cool with overcast skies. Falco wakes and prays for his spells (hopefully including a couple of Raise Dead spells.) He is able to restore Elyas sight, much to the mage’s relief. Kiwina is also relieved when late in the morning his lost levels return and he feels like his old self. Well, his old self that is still missing three companions.
Ayotnom takes some time to look over Nevras’ spellbook. He finds it contains the following spells.
8th—clenched fist, create greater undead, horrid wilting, mind blank, protection from spells 7th—banishment, control undead, ethereal jaunt, finger of death, force cage, insanity, spell turning, waves of exhaustion 6th—chain lightning, create undead, disintegrate , eyebite, flesh to stone, greater dispel magic, undeath to death 5th—baleful polymorph, blight, break enchantment, cloudkill, magic jar, sending, teleport, wall of force, waves of fatigue 4th—animate dead, arcane eye, bestow curse , dimension door, enervation, fear, fire shield, remove curse, shout, solid fog, wall of ice 3rd—blink, dispel magic, fireball, fly, gentle repose, lightning bolt, protection from energy, ray of exhaustion, secret page, shrink item, vampiric touch 2nd—blindness/deafness, command undead, darkvision, false life, glitterdust, obscure object, resist energy, scare, scorching ray, see invisibility 1st—alarm, burning hands, cause fear, detect undead, expeditious retreat, feather fall, grease, identify, mage armor, magic missile, obscuring mist, ray of enfeeblement, shocking grasp 0th —all
(The DM encourages you to cast Raise Dead before you meet with the Prince so we can include all the players in that.)

He would like to look through the spellbook his allies recovered in more detail, but there really isn't time right now. The Petals had an appointment with the Prince, and it seemed bad to keep him waiting any longer than needed. Thinking Elyas is the most pressing as he could fall overboard Falco finds him first to restore his sight.
That settles he gathers the rest together. "I can cast Raise Dead thrice but we need diamond dust. Quite a lot actually so we need to gather that quickly. I have twenty four hours from the time of the.... incident so we have some time. I also have a spell to heal some of the lasting effects of being resurrected."
(ooc: See email re reagents.}
With some financial wrangling the Petals can easily sort this out and Falco cast Raise Dead multiple times. The spells take a tool and the little bird man is clearly expending a lot of energy.

Ayotnom says to Elyas, "We can both benefit from the spellbook. Copying from it will leave the spells intact so we can each pull what we need and if there is any overlap neither of us will bother the other. I personally am going to copy 8 first level, 7 second level and 10 3rd level spells into my book. As I'm rather diversified in my skill list I can't really go above 3rd level spells so if there are any of those in there above third you are welcome to them. However I think we should get to moving on bring back our friends first."

Kiwina talks to their guards to see if an escort to the Catacombs can be arranged. He explains that it is for diamond dust so that they can try to raise their dead friends for the audience.
If the escort is arranged, Kiwina can afford 5000 gp worth of dust himself.
(OOC: The treasure contained 5,000 gp value diamonds -- if those are suitable, then Kiwina will use the trip to buy unguent of timelessness in case the spell goes awry.)

Overhearing Kiwina talk to the guards, Tsak has a chat with the captain about the timelessness idea and whether it could work for Esmerelda's corpse too. If so he would be keen to do that so that he could bury his companion in the Taur Isles.
Moving away from the guards so they don't overhear Tsak says Kiwina I have over 37,000 gp saved up. Whatever it costs I'll pay you back gladly if you could investigate and purchase some of this ointment so I can bury Esmerelda properly, not here, not like this.
Tsak then goes and cleans his clothes and equipment as best he can in preparation for meeting the prince.
DM Mark - "What do we do about bringing back those we've lost?" Wednesday July 26th, 2023 1:11:33 AM
The morning is grey and cool, which matches the somber mood of the party.
Elyas is glad to have his sight back. He considers perusing Nevras’ spellbook, but would rather wait until after this meeting with the Prince. Ayotnom lets Elyas know they can both benefit from the spell in that book.
Kiwina asks the Prince’s guards if they can arrange an escort to the Catacombs, but they say the cannot. However, Falco lets Kiwina know he actually has what he needs right now. Tsak discusses spells or effects that might preserve Esmerelda’s body so she can be buried on the Taur Isles. Then Tsak does his best to get cleaned up for a meeting with the Prince.
With Elyas’ sight restored, Falco turns his attention to the bodies of his fallen friends. Having prayed to the Warper-Sar for the ability to raise his friends, he looks over the diamonds found in Nevras lair. Hmm, there are three of them, and they look about right. Falco is not quite sure how this goes since he’s never cast this spell before.
Casting Raise Dead take one minute, and Falco will need to do one body at a time. He starts with Wil.
As Falco holds the diamond and intones the spell, the sounds fade until there is a deafening silence. Then the ship surrounding the Petals disappears and everything becomes grey nothingness around the Petals. For a moment, Elyas begins to think he blindness may be back, this time with deafness as well. But it doesn't stay this way for long.
And now, your DMs leave you in the kind, gentle, caring hands of Gargul (said no one ever.)
ACDM RobC Wednesday July 26th, 2023 3:40:25 AM
As your eyes gradually adapt to your new surroundings, you find yourselves standing in a queue within a mysterious foyer. Wil too is standing right next to the party. He looks completely himself again. No signs of any scratches at all. To any observer he looks to be in completely good health.
The room you're in is dimly lit, its atmosphere suffused with an air of anticipation. Red velvet adorns the walls and floors, creating an opulent and lavish ambiance. The walls reach dizzying heights, so high that you cannot see the ceiling (if there is one). At the front of the queue, you notice thick, rich red curtains, undoubtedly concealing the entrance to the next room.
Ahead of you, there are only two individuals in the queue, but as you glance over your shoulder, the line extends far beyond the limits of your sight, disappearing into the distance. People of all races, patiently waiting in line.
Before you stands a frail, elderly man, dressed in his bedclothes. He turns to you with a warm smile, radiating a sense of calmness and acceptance. "It won't be long now" he says with a sense of serenity. His hand gently rests on Wil's forearm, a gesture of kindness and connection. "You must be important if you've been moved up the queue this far. Are you famous?" he asks.
Ahead of him in the queue, and next in line to go in, your eyes fall upon a remarkably familiar figure. You recognize him instantly - it's Nevras! Whistling nonchalantly, he turns to the party and greets you with a wide grin. His demeanour is anything but worried; in fact, he appears quite smug and carefree, seemingly unfazed by the circumstances he finds himself in.

Elyas is not really surprised to see Nevras here, as obviously he was also dead, but he was certainly surprised that the man didn't seem bothered to see the Petals. especially after the particularly... messy way that they finished off the necromancer.

'Are you famous?' The thought takes Tsak by surprise, and gives him pause from the maudlin thoughts that had taken over him since the fight with Nevras. It's not something that had ever occured to him and the very idea gives him a little bit of a smile. No, he thinks to himself, no we're not famous. Just a bunch of happy dolts who are good at being in the wrong place at the wrong time. And if the petals spend the rest of their journey together in exactly the same way Tsak will be completely satisfied with that.
ACDM RobC Thursday July 27th, 2023 3:49:54 AM
Wil stands there puzzled about why his environment keeps shifting. Is that what the afterlife is?
Falco feels like he might pass out but keeps on his feet, wondering if he brought this on himself through over exertion.
The question about fame gives the heroes reason to pause.
Kiwina indicates that Wil is not famous, but perhaps he had a famous history the group don't know about.
Ayotnom is unsure about his fame and recalls Imod escorting him to this assignment.
Tsak just smiles. Fame isn't something he'd really considered before. It's just a happy consequence for all the adventures the Petals always seem to find themselves on.
Elyas is unsurprised to see Nevras, but puzzled by his lack of concern for the Petals. He instead focuses on the fellow in front of them, enquiring on what brought him here.
"Oh, it was an ailment beyond the reach of healers" the old man explains with a hint of nostalgia in his voice. "I knew my time had arrived, and I was at peace with it. My family surrounded me, and there was no pain, just a profound sense of serenity. Looking back, I can honestly say I had a wonderful life. It was truly lovely" he reminisces, a smile on his face and a tear forming in his eye.
Nevras catches wind of the conversation and decides to intervene. "Far be it from me to delay you from your journey to the afterlife," he politely addresses the elderly man. "Please, after you," he continues, gesturing for the man to take his place in the queue. The elderly man is appreciative of the gesture and steps forward eagerly. As he does, the thick, luscious red curtains gracefully part, revealing an abyss of darkness beyond. A commanding voice reverberates through the air, resounding with power and authority, as it proclaims, "NEXT!" The old man turns back, giving a warm smile to Nevras and the party, and then proceeds to step forward, gradually vanishing into the enigmatic darkness. As his figure disappears from view, the curtains gently close, concealing what lies beyond.
With Nevras now positioned directly in front of the party, he briefly turns his gaze towards you, offering a smile before releasing a soft, wistful sigh.

Since the older gentleman had obviously died a natural death and is content his life is over, Kiwina guesses this is a general purpose line. Which is to say the powers that be might be processing Nevras rather than his colleagues trying to revive him. As such, whoever is doing the task must be equipped to make the right determination. Nevras might be dead, but that doesn't stop Falco from driving a dagger to his heart by insulting the smell of his house.
Kiwina instead opts to give him the silent treatment. Is that worse?
Elyas wonders why Nevras's demeanor has changed so dramatically. The party did just kill him after all. Ayotnom is also interested. Is something going on?
"Even outnumbered I managed to take two of you down with me. Well, two and a half" he remarks with a smirk. Glancing at Tsak he taunts "Oh, I'm certain some of my acquaintances will relish the opportunity to lay their hands on that cat's lifeless body."

"NEXT!" The thunderous voice startles you, and the curtains in front of you part. "Mark my words, this won't be the last time the Wold witnesses my presence. I'm quite sure of it" Nevras asserts confidently. Taking a deep breath, he ventures forth. The party expresses their varied emotions and support for Wil as they prepare to face the mysterious journey ahead.
Mak endures a surreal dream-like experience, hoping to awaken soon.
Kiwina and Elyas offer encouragement, while Falco taunts Nevras once more.
Tsak remains stoic, feeling sympathy for Nevras but focused on supporting Wil.
Ayotnom questions Nevras's past actions, while also pledging support to Wil.
Wil, feeling humbled and resolute, confronts Nevras for his dishonourable deeds. He declares a new path in life (if there is a life for him), determined to hold evil sorcerers accountable for their actions. If this means no longer casting spells of his own, then so be it.
With a sense of ease and surprise, the party steps through the curtains and portal, finding the transition remarkably uneventful - akin to simply moving from one room to another. The seamless passage leaves them standing in a new realm without any jarring sensations or disorientation, as if the magical gateway effortlessly bridged the two spaces without a hitch.
This though is a chamber of unparalleled grandeur - a vast obsidian throne room. The space seems to stretch into eternity, with towering obsidian pillars lining the perimeter. The floor beneath your feet is a mirror-like expanse of polished black stone, creating an illusion of infinite depth. Every footstep echoes, creating an eerie ambiance
The ceiling above is an inky void, giving the impression of gazing into the endless depths of the cosmos. Glimmers of distant stars and celestial bodies twinkle amidst the darkness, casting a mesmerizing glow over the throne room.
At the far end of the chamber stands the centrepiece of this grand space – a colossal obsidian throne that rises high into the darkness. There, seated on the throne is Gargul himself, draped in a flowing black robe with a hood that conceals much of his countenance. Clutched in his hand, he holds a crooked staff that emits a radiant, pure white light. Beneath the robe, fleeting glimpses reveal hints of a crooked smile, although it could just as easily be perceived as a solemn grimace.
To your left stands Nevras, his demeanour noticeably uneasy amidst this solemn setting. He appears uncomfortable and does not acknowledge your arrival in any manner.
"As the events leading to your deaths were related, I deemed it appropriate to hold your judgment collectively" Gargul begins, leaning forward to focus his attention on Wil and then on Nevras. "Now, what transpired?" he inquires, his voice both composed and authoritative.
Nevras fidgets uncomfortably, struggling to meet Gargul's gaze. "Well, you see, I was simply at home, minding my own business" he starts to explain, his words tinged with defensiveness. "Then suddenly, these intruders barged into my house and launched an unprovoked attack. I had no choice but to defend myself. I'm the victim here." he asserts, his eyes frequently averting to the floor as he recounts the events leading to his demise.
After a thoughtful pause, Gargul turns his gaze towards the party. "Is this so?"

Nevras explanation of the events was accurate, Mak considered as he dreamt of the imposing audience with such a powerful entity as Gargul. In his meanderign dream Mak looked around for Rolth, surely his passing was related as well and his testimony would be helpful. If this Gargul was interested in such.
Mak continued to observe the proceedings silently. Surely as a dream his mind would pick out the relevant details from his mind and fill them in to answer the accusations aimed at Wil by Nevras. Technically though Mak had been the one to actually kill Nevras in the street after the man walked out and attacked them. He had only defended himself from the flesh automatons that attacked them in the wizards residence. Surely the Gargul that was now manifest in his mind would be omniscient enough to divine the true nature of events.

In his dreams, Mak observes the proceedings, hoping that Gargul will discern the truth behind the events leading to Nevras's demise.
Wil explains the necromancer's crimes, emphasizing how he dishonoured and raised the dead, and engaged in despicable acts. He clarifies that they initially attempted to talk to Nevras before resorting to force when confronted with his atrocities.
Elyas regrets the absence of Rolth, who would have been adept at handling such situations, but hesitates to request waiting for him to join.
Tsak recognized the need to stop Nevras immediately, as he had already caused harm and needed to be prevented from further harm.
Kiwina believes Wil's case should be separated from Nevras's, but acknowledges their decision to enter his residence when presented with the opportunity. He details their discovery of Nevras's necromantic practices, the golems they fought, and their ultimate rescue of a woman.
Ayotnom shares their motivation for investigating Nevras, having received a tip about his necromantic activities. He denounces the reanimated taxidermies found in Nevras's home and the affront to the concept of natural death.
Falco interjects, expressing his condemnation of Nevras's disrespect for life and death.
Gargul listens intently to each of the party members, his expression betraying little emotion, but those perceptive enough notice a tightening grip on his staff as he hears of Nevras's dark deeds. He remains silent until everyone has finished speaking, seemingly taking in all the information presented before him. The weight of the moment hangs heavy in the air.
Gargul's gaze intensifies as he fixates on Nevras, and an eerie stillness befalls the sorcerer's body. It seems as if the very essence of Nevras is momentarily held captive by the god's stare. Gargul's facial expression contorts with visible disgust as he continues to stare at Nevras. The god's features betray his revulsion at the sorcerer's despicable actions, and his eyes seem to pierce through Nevras, peering into the depths of his soul. Gargul's grip on his staff tightens further, a clear sign of his growing disapproval and readiness to deliver his verdict.
"I have seen your soul Nevras and it is dark." Gargul proclaims with an air of solemn authority. "For the grievous crimes committed, I pass judgment upon you. You shall be banished to the Tormented Lands, condemned to remain there, never to trouble the realm of the living again"
As Gargul pronounces his judgment upon Nevras, the ground beneath the condemned man transforms into a viscous, swirling liquid. In a terrifying display of supernatural force, Nevras is mercilessly drawn into the depths of the substance. His anguished screams reverberate through the chamber as the liquid engulfs him completely, leaving no trace of his presence as it settles back into a solid floor once more. The room falls into an eerie silence, punctuated only by the lingering echoes of Nevras's cries.
As the unsettling spectacle subsides, Gargul slowly pulls back his hood, revealing a face both serene and wise. His gaze shifts to the party, and a gentle smile graces his features. "You, Wil" he says warmly, "are most welcome in the Lands of Rest." The enigmatic glow from his staff bathes Wil in a soothing aura, assuring him of his rightful place in the realm of eternal peace and tranquillity.

Mak's dream played out before him much as he'd anticipated, but as the Gargul moved about he couldn't help but look for the vines and throbbing flower that would identify this imposter as a heartseeded. Surely this dream entity had been placed in his mind by all the talk of Gargul and Domi. Perhaps this was how this particular false god manifested to people, rather than being someone's personal escort across the Wold.
Still, Mak doubted as the dream played out in his mind and wondered if something similar had happened to all his friends and colleagues he'd lost in the war. The memories dredged up from those almost forgotten days caused the pain in his leg to twinge once more.

I have multiple curses, passed from family to family. My insanity follows me like an overbearing puppet master and I now realize that falls upon my shoulders in the form of casting spells. Wil Grimly as you see his form is dead and must pass. He must be allowed to pass to the Land of Rest..." "...but... Wilford... as I address myself in 3rd person.. that is never ok. Ugh.. As Mak's dream unfolds, he anticipates the scene but can't help searching for signs of an imposter, perhaps a heartseeded influence, in Gargul's manifestation.
Elyas observes as the necromancer, once smug, is swallowed by Gargul's judgment, his confidence shattered. He's curious about Wil's response, hoping for a chance at a second shot at life.
Falco is taken aback by Wil's words, grappling with the idea that his friend might be ready to move on.
Tsak stands stoically, weary from recent events, while Kiwina struggles to fully comprehend the situation. Ayotnom, relatively new to the group, acknowledges his role in the past events, reflecting on the missed opportunity to prevent the necromancer's devastating spells.
Wil's emotions are a mix of shock and acceptance as the necromancer vanishes, but he is surprised by Gargul's reveal and warm demeanour. He humbly expresses gratitude for the offer to join the Lands of Rest, acknowledging his inability to return to the Land of the Living due to his cursed state. He wrestles with his identity, addressing himself in third person and then as "Wilford," but ultimately beseeches Gargul to allow him to pass into the Land of Rest, overwhelmed by remorse and a sense of failure.
Gargul stands up from his imposing throne and strides towards Wil, his presence commanding attention. He lays a hand gently upon Wil's shoulder, his touch both reassuring and weighty. "Rolth's death weighs heavily on you. On all of you". His gaze sweeps across the group before returning to Wil.
With a solemn expression, Gargul's words convey a surprising revelation. "However, you must all understand that Rolth's journey has taken a different path. He has already been granted another chance at life in the realm of the living." As his fingers curl around Wil's arm, he assists him in rising from his kneeling position, his touch offering a mix of support and guidance.
Gargul's tone carries a sense of purpose as he unveils his intentions. "I have a task that requires the unique capabilities of a mortal, and it is Rolth whom I have chosen for this important role." The weight of this revelation lingers in the air, leaving the group to contemplate the implications of this unexpected turn of events.
"So you see, there is no need for regret, sorrow or blame" Gargul emphasizes "And if magic is the thread that tugs at your sanity, then its grasp can be readily cut". A luminous radiance materializes upon Wil's arm and flows, akin to a sparkling stream, into the awaiting palm of Gargul. Wil experiences a transformation, an alteration in his being, and yet a familiarity remains. A sense of clarity dispels the haze of spells that once muddled his thoughts. The burden of magical knowledge has lifted leaving behind a profound change in his essence. (OOC: Wil is no longer a cleric!)
Gargul withdraws his hand from Wil and shifts his gaze to the party. His eyes sweep over the group, acknowledging your experience and valor. "You stand here as seasoned adventurers, true heroes" he begins, his voice carrying a weight of wisdom. "Yet, such encounters as this are not commonplace. So, I ask you now: What have you learned today? What changes will you enact, ensuring that our paths shall not cross again until your journeys have reached their end?"

Mak's disturbing visions of Dream Gargul prompts an acknowledgment of his own bad habits.
Elyas acknowledges the need for improved teamwork and coordination within the group. He reflects on the recent battle and identifies areas where their synergy fell short. He resolves to enhance their collaborative efforts and make better use of dispel magic.
Falco adds to the discussion, emphasizing the party's limitations in confined spaces and the importance of refining their teamwork.
Ayotnom recognizes the need for improved situational awareness during combat and commits to staying focused and attentive. He suggests practical solutions like scrolls or potions to aid maneuverability.
Kiwina, though reluctant to directly respond to Gargul's question, reflects on a past error in judgment during combat. He acknowledges the consequences of his hasty decision-making and considers how to balance preparedness and resource management.
Tsak regrets not teaching Esmerelda to defend herself. He acknowledges her loyalty and wishes he had been more proactive in battle. He jokingly mentions to Mak that the most disturbing thing is not having had a drink yet.
Gargul's eyebrow raises slightly as he hears Tsak casually refer to him as "this bloke." Though no words are spoken, Gargul's gaze lingers on Tsak for more than a moment, his expression inscrutable, as if he's contemplating something beneath the surface.
Wil experiences a mixture of emotions as his magical essence is drawn away. He contemplates his renewed purpose in defending the innocent by confronting those who misuse their abilities, as a fighter!
With a solemn nod, Gargul acknowledges the party's reflections on their experiences and the lessons they've drawn. "Learning is an integral part of life's journey" he affirms "and your paths still hold much more to be discovered."
"For now, it's time to say farewell. May your paths be both winding and purposeful, and may the light of your courage guide others through the shadows. The world awaits your next chapter. Walk it well."
With a final, affirming gaze, Gargul raises his staff, and a gentle current of energy envelops the party. The surroundings blur momentarily, and a sense of weightlessness fills the air. Then, as the sensation dissipates, the party finds themselves back on their ship, the echoes of Gargul's wisdom lingering in your mind.
With a gasp, Wil inhales deeply, the sensation of life rushing back into his body. His eyes flutter open, adjusting to the surroundings.

Mak returns to his senses believing the previous events to be a disturbing dream. He is suprised to see Wilford at first but then remembers Falco's resurrection spell.
Wilford is delighted to be among the living again. He lets out an invigorating celebratory shout before the smell of himself causes him to return to reality.
Kiwina checks the portable hole and does not find Rolth's body among its contents. She then asks Tsak about his interest in resurrecting Esmerelda. She says that Falco maybe able to help but is unsure if raising an animal is different then raising a person.
Elyas is relieved to see Wilford back among the living, but quickly informs him that they have important business to attend too. He will then take the time to prepare his spells for the day.
Ayotnom is just relieved that the whole ordeal is dealt with and hopes the party has learned a valuable lesson.

A group of black guards follows Master Yelzez to the ship, "Glad to see you all on your feet, the Prince awaits you. Please follow." He turns and begins walking without a backward glance at the party. 2 of the guards follow closely behind him while the other 4 wait for the group to exit before bringing up the rear. As the group travels through the city, many of the towns people will whisper and point. Anyone on the path moves out of the way with quickness. You are brought to a massive stately mansion. Master Yelez has you stop a few feet from the doors and approaches, places his hand on the door which glows with an arcane sigil, and he recants something in a whispered voice. The door opens and he beckons the group to follow. The 6 black guards do not follow the party into the mansion. As you enter, the inside is immaculately kept and well decorated. The foyer is grand and shots off to several rooms on both sides. Master Yelzez continues forward up a grand staircase, assuming the group will follow. The staircase reaches the 2nd floor, where it branches off to hallways in both directions. Master Yelzez continues walking forward to giant set of wooden doors, he knocks, and pulls both doors open. Master Yelez ushers you into the room where the first half is lit with torches in sconces and the back of the room is shrouded in darkness.

Elyas follows calmly, trying not to stand out too much. He stays in his usual place in the center of the party. He assumes that casting spells of any kind would be a bad idea, so he keeps his hands empty and visible.
If they wanted to harm us, they certainly had their chance, we have to assume this is what they say, an audience with a prince. what could he want from us? He thinks

Mak kept his weapons hidden. The rapier was safely in his magic glove, his bow in the haversack, and miscellaneous weapons stashed in their proper places with the large elven curve blade securely tied into its sheath. If they were ambushed it would take him a bit to get fully up to speed, but with his magic glove he wouldn’t be unarmed.
In the meantime Mak maintained a relaxed posture, but ready for anything.

DM Dominik - Preparing to meet a Prince Thursday August 10th, 2023 12:01:38 AM
Tsak takes the lead, he hopes to fill in able during Rolth's absence. He steady's himself and presents a confident front. An odd taste is felt on his tongue when he thinks of the future trip to the pub.
Falco comments at how nice the place looks. {You successfully overhear what is said at the door. Give me a Knowledge: Arcana roll}
Kiwina waits patiently trying to pick up and hints about the darkness. He sees a table and some chairs but nothing more.
Wilford does his best to blend it and keeps a watchful eye on the guards.
Elyas does his best to calm and not do anything to warrant attention. He questions what the meeting is really about.
Mak reviews his inventory in his head, prepared for anything.
Ayotnom questions why the room is lit as such, maybe symbolism.
After everyone has entered the room, he stands in the doorway. "Attention, there are points of clarification that I need to make you aware of. One, the Prince is a very important person and, as such, precautions must be taken. The room you stand in will be enveloped in an antimagic field. There will be an invisible barrier placed between your party and the presiding council. Please do not do anything that would be deemed hostile, it will not be dealt with lightly. Two, once the protections have been put in place the council will take their seats, followed by Prince Fexel. Three, please address all questions towards the prince with a formal greeting of Prince Fexel. Four, once the meeting has ended and assuming you are allowed to leave, you will wait for all of the council to exit before the invisible barrier and the antimagic field are released. Have I made myself understood?" He will stare at the party awaiting confirmation.

Mak listened carefully, understanding exactly what the implications of an antimagic field were. He'd experienced it with the beholder forcing his sword into his hand. "Apologies," Mak started. "I took a few precautions on the way here and to not surprise anyone I need to put my weapon away."
Mak summoned the rapier from his glove and sheathed it. Of course he realized that with his bow and quiver in his pack he'd only have the non magical properties of his weapons to rely on. Fortunately the adamantine the sword was made of wasn't magical and it was still a masterwork item should an ambush be in the making.
Once Mak had situated himself he said. "Please proceed." he said using the proper means of response he'd learned in Aisildur.

That would not be a good thing, as I have recently returned from Gargul and do not want to go back.. this soon.. that is.. give me a few months at least." "Have I met the Prince before.. ugh.. Ayotnom salutes with his rapier before putting it in his scabbard. He wasn't completely useless without magic as much of his training was martial so this is more of a temporary inconvenience.
DM Dominik - Preparing to meet a Prince Thursday August 10th, 2023 10:47:37 PM
Mak makes the necessary preperations before signaling that he was ready. He was, however, not prepared for how the field would affect him physically.
Elyas understands the need for such protections and patiently waits.
Falco feels these precautions are a bit pretintious and over the top. {Master Yelzez had cast a 'Knock' spell on the door. As you saw no visible key hole, you would assume the door has an 'Arcane Lock' spell on it. You would also know that a 'Knock' spell does not dismiss an 'Arcane Lock' spell, it only supressing it for 10 minutes.}
Kiwina nods in understandment but then hesitates, but the chance to change anything has passed.
Wil begrudgingly stows his crossbow. He has mixed emotions about what is about to happen but is very interested.
Tsak agrees, as he would figures fighting probably isn't in the agenda as they likely would not be here if that was the case.
Ayotnom sheathes his weapon but comforts himself that he has ample weapon training that the loss of magic could be overcome if necessary.
Master Yelez receives confirmation from all the party members and pulls the doors close behind him. A moment later the party can feel the antimagic field affect them. A door is heard opening from the dark side of the room and 4 figures can be seen lighting the sconces. You see a half circle table with 7 chairs. A moment later, 3 doors on each side of the room open and 6 figures approach and stand in front of the chairs. You see 3 humans, a dwarf, a halfling, and a half-elf around the table, each wearing a symbol of their appropriate houses. Finally a figure emerges from a door directly in the center, a medium humanoid with a blank white mask draped in black clothing. He approaches the ornate chair in the middle, nods to each side of the table and then sits. The other members at the table follow suite. The person in the white mask takes a moment to orient himself before their gaze falls upon the party. The voice that follows is unexpected and does nothing to help you narrow any details about the Prince. "Welcome, Petals. Lets get right down to business. I have heard various stories of your actions since you entered Dirt City. I will allow you to give your side of the story. Know that I do not take kindly to lying." They will fold their hands together and wait patiently for the party's answer.

Mak wasn’t surprised at the turn of events. He wanted to leave ever since the discovery that Nevras wasn’t going to talk. That they now seemed to be in some sort of trial only confirmed his feeling that they should have left. Still, aside from their questionable entry into Nevras’ home he felt they were on solid ground.
”Your majesty,” Mak started, with perhaps an elevated honorific, ”Thank you for this opportunity to express our appreciation for the safe escort to our ship on yesterday. Since we arrived in your fine community we’ve felt welcomed by your people and sought to work within the laws made aware to us. As for our purpose here, we come with the authority of the Taur leadership regarding a threat to the people’s of the isles. As their representatives we have been investigating a connection that this Nevras had with an evil dragon that was attacking the residents of Liontaur island. In the dragons horde we found documents connecting Nevras to the dragon and sought to question the reclusive necromancer. Unfortunately one misunderstanding lead to another and Nevras attacked us. In the series of events that proceeded we discovered he was collecting body parts from both the living and the dead here in your city. Nevras never really gave us the chance to negotiate, choosing deadly force both physical and magical. Even once we withdrew he pursued us into the streets of your fair city as some kind of retribution for our actions. We can only assume he was seeking to silence us so that we wouldn’t bring his connection the evil dragon that terrorized the isles to your esteemed attention. Throughout the ordeal in which two of our members were slain we were unfortunately force to defend ourselves. The result as you see has not been beneficial to either party and our knowledge of Nevras involvement in our home has yet to be determined. We can make some assumptions, but we have no hard facts other than the necromancers attempt on our lives.”

But the gist of it is that we came to Dirt City looking for Nevras Canthil to ask him some questions, and were forced to defend ourselves first from his creations and then from him after his servant admitted us to his house. We had recently fought Grovas, son of Vurm, on Liontaur Island. Among this dragon's posessions, in a book of necromancy, was a letter telling him to contact Nevras to get in touch with the previous owner of the book. We were looking for information on who was helping Grovas. With Nevras dead, we have no further leads."
So much for their most recent troubles. There was another matter the prince probably heard about. "While we were looking for Nevras we were directed to a warehouse that in fact housed a beholder. The spell we used to enter while investigating the warehouse should have caused no damage to the place, and the beholder attacked us before we saw it."

Falco asks if they are on trial.
Elyas expexts to be regaled by Rolth with their exploits but is left only with pain as he remembers that Rolth is no longer with them.
Wilford is happy to let other take the lead here.
Mak had a suspicion that their actions were going to lead them here. Despite that, he felt their actions were justified and he presents them to the council as such.
Kiwina backs up Mak's details and adds their own account of the adventures, including a few new ones.
Tsak listens the stories of his party members and approves of their retellings.
Ayotnom stands there quietly.
The Prince sits stoically, barely moving listening to the party's stories. Other members of the council, however, were not so stoic. The half-elf representative from the Darts seemed very uncomfortable, shifting in his seat often. The human resprestative from the Teeth stood up to say something after the reveal of the beholder but quickly thought better of it and sat back down. The dwarf representative of the Knives sat there mumbling under his breath and shooting the party daggers with his eyes. The other 3 representatives sat there listening to the party, you could tell some of the were suprised by the details but did their best not to be too expressive. After the party finishes their side of the story, the Prince will stand, "Thank you for your cooperation, your details have aligned with the various reports that I have received. Your actions, despite its merits, have caused a disrubtion within the city. Reperations are going to have to be made to the various affected groups." The prince stops and looks around the council, all nodding in agreement.

Ayotnom says, "and what of the estate of the necromancer sir? Had he not been a practitioner of the dark art of necromancy with some unknown recommending him to an evil dragon we slew that was tormenting the Taur Isles we never would have been here. I acknowledge perhaps we were a little exuberant in our investigation but we saved a woman's life and surely the removal of one who practices such things that are abhorrent to Gargul must merit some consideration."
