Gaffer ducks under the strike from the Mawcar and finishes his casting. Tracking the bird and planting his new companions directly next to the creature and ordering them whirlwind and harrass the bird, as they are likely unable to best it in a melee.
He can't shake a sense of unease at the situation, and takes a breath to scan the room for anything at odds while moving close to his allies.
The Tanaka is within the darkness and finally forces the Storm Giant to move after it, where it swings down a mighty blow.

With the bird above his head, des heads back towards the remaining Rakshasa I have Des with Speed of 20 and thus moved 40' Nira attempts to dispel the ice on Hmerrin, but once again the opposing magic proves to powerful. Ramirez is a bit puzzled by how fast the Maharaja was defeater, as he fires again at the Tanaka, hitting twice. Hmerrin adds Two more. Yrul then strikes and Dabz, much to Snickits horror, deals the killing blow. Dankpo flies south, but as the Tanka falls, he does not use his mighty breath weapon. Gaffer looks about, not convinced that something it amiss. A pair of Air elementals arrive and go after the last foe as whirlwinds. Neither are able to capture the elusive bird. The Storm giant has no foe and remains where it is.
The bird flies past and slashes Ae1 as it does so. Ae1 Hit AC 48 Dmg 11
The Hall then darkens, as if clouds were gathering within the very building adn a rumble of thunder rolls across the great chamber. This is followed by a burst of deep laughter as a rift tears down the central axis from floor to ceiling, nearly 20' wide to reveal an endless night sky of stars. Stepping forth is what appears to be the Maharaja and a great silver back gorilla. Standing just over 6’ and wearing a golden and crimson robe, the Maharaja has the head of a black jackal with silver pools for eyes. “You will now pay for this outlandish, fool hardy, and senseless display of bravado”. The pattern on the Maharaja's robes, like a great cherry orchard in bloom, swirls about as if a thing alive. Everyone can feel the power of this being flow across the room. The Tanaka seem to melt into nothing, becoming nearly invisible wisps of silvery energy.

He glances at his summons to see the Air Elementals each slowing from their tornado forms to cower before the Rakshasa, though at least the Storm Giant stands strong.
He calls to the Storm Giant to focus on killing the Gorilla and the giant obliges by moving north and getting closer.
"I knew it must be a trick! Gaffer exclaims, a moment of vindication quickly ruined by the wave of power that washes over the room. "I'm glad I saved some fire, just for you." And his hands move swiftly, once more summoning sheets of flames in a triangle, stretching over all their foes.

It would seem the actual Maharaja has now appeared and with him, the once dead Sasha has been revived and the 'souls' of the dead Tanaka have been born across the room to him.
Ramirez staves off the pair of spells and fires an arrow, striking true. Danko wheels about and roars mightily and sends a ray of Disintegration, but the beam misses. Des raises a fist and declares Domi's power against the Maharaja, moving toward his opponent. Nira flies a bit away and prepares to counter what the Maharaja might do next. Yrul, and her Dim Light sphere, move northward towards the Maharaja. Gaffer casts Fire Storm flooding nearly the entire north end of the chamber in superheated fire. The Air Elementals are cowed, but the Storm Giant strides off to trail in behind Yrul's darkness. Storm Giant is in Plate, Speed 30. Hmerrin moves to the north as well.
Sahsa gets caught by the Firestorm and is set on fire. The Gorilla and Mawcaw completely dodge the flames. The Maharaja is lightly singed.
Sasha spends a roujnd to put herself out. The Gorilla charges in on Gaffer and lands a powerful blow. Gaffer Hit AC 42 Dmg 21
The Maharaja points to Des, and the paladin vanishes in a small cloud of cherry blossom flowers. He then starts to cast a spell, when all about him goes quiet. He makes another gesture seeming to grasp the silvery mist that rose from the forms of the Tanaka and flinging it to the south. A metal grinding sound resonates through the chamber as the eyes glow within the two huge statues and they move north. The first closes on Hmerrin and strikes with a Falchion Hmerrin Hit AC 43 Dmg 30 +6Fire It then breathes out a blast of smoke and fire. Hmerrin Ramirez Reflex DC 25 Fire Dmg 15 Functions as Fog Cloud obscuring all sight beyond 5' The Second heads north towards the Storm Gian and breathes a similar cloud. Yrul again moved forward, away from the trouble behind and towards even greater trouble in the form of the Maharajah. This time though she did not use her full range of movement, She stopped, crouched low and swiftly called the shadows to her aid. Nira moves towards the trees. She feels pretty confident that the maharajah will be able to counter most of what she can cast, so needs something to hide behind before her invisibility runs out.
She can't do much to help the party while she can't see them, so create a Wind Wall to disperse some/all of the cloud. If that clears things up and she can see how hurt Hmerrin is, she casts the best cure spell she can from range.

Gaffer staggers a step back as the Gorilla slams into him, thankful he hadn't taken to many wounds before now. He worries as he sees Des disappear, and that worry only grows as the Majara slings spell after spell, but he has to focus on himself for a moment with the gorilla near.
Gaffer call for the giant to move out of the cloud and keep the nearest statue at bay, which the giant obliges. The air elementals appear to be out of the fight and Gaffer ignores them.
Then he casts a spell. The image of Vyrnix fixed in his mind, crimson scales and vast claws. The presence of fire. Gaffer's body tembles and warps, growing bigger, muscles growing stronger. Scales extend all over his form until what stands in his place, is a Huge Red Dragon.

Yrul and her Dim Light aura, moves forward and she conjures a Shadow Tiger to assist her to flank the Maharaja. His axe lands and opens a rent in the statue only to release a gout of molten bronze. Hmerrin Reflex DC 25 Dmg 28 and set on Fire Save for Half and not on fire Ramirez clears the cloud and fires at the Maharaja. Striking soundly again. With but a nod and flick of the wrist (well it was more Dabz making a hooking gesture), Yrul told the Celestial Dire Kitty to eat the gorilla. It duly charged and pounced upon its back. For all that he had imagined become a dragon and fighting a bold battle, Gaffer is appalled by the onslaught he receives from the Gorilla and can only pause to heal himself to ensure he doesn't fall seconds later, the spell removing all of his wounds so far.
Over to the side, his Giant companion manages to avoid some of the flames sent it's way, but takes heavy damage from the various attacks. Still, they are only a temporary companion and Gaffer doesn't change their command to keep attacking.

She still doesn't want to be in the maharajah's line of sight, so flies to the other side of Ram to take cover by the tree.
Now visible, she gives a whistle to get Ram's attention and pats her hands on her legs. "Ram! Over here. Come closer. Come here. Pss pss pss" When she feels he's within reach she puts her hand out to touch where his face might be.

Gaffer knows there is a lot going on, and his mind spins to figure out what should be a priority. He catches sight of Hmerrin, looking badly bloodied and burnt, and so close to the Majara.
Thankful for pause in attacks from the Gorilla, though saddened by the state of the friendly tiger, he uses the opportunity for another spell. He'd like to do more, but it's the only way he can cover his ally in this moment.
Meanwhile the Air Elementals remain entranced, but the Storm Giant isn't done yet and keeps up the attack, while stepping slightly away to try and avoid the gouts of flame. No longer shaken, it attacks at full strength with powerful blows.

Des escapes the Orchard and finds himself right back in the audience chamber. Danko takes to the air and sends a Disintegration[i]spell at one of the Statues. The statute appears undamaged by the spell. Nira appears and successfully places a [i]Heal on Ramirez, removing any of his wounds and more importantly, the Feeblemind Yrul attacks the gorilla and scores strike after strike after strike and when she is finished, the gorilla looks to be in as bad of shape as the tiger. The Tiger inflicts a near mortal wound, but does not quite finish off the Gorilla. Gaffer casts Fog Cloud at Hmerrin's position hoping to provide him some concealment. The Storm Giant continues its attacks and fells the bronze statue even as additional torrents of molten bronze spills forth. Giant Reflex DC 25/25/25 Dmg 21/30/37 Hmerrin keeps at the statue with his warhammer and rings another pair of blows. Hmerrin gets in a couple good blows when an arrow pierces the statue, sending a stream of lava at him. The fighter manage to shift out of the way (Reflex 31).
Then he enveloped in another one of those fire clouds. The fighter again dodges the really burny parts (Reflex 40)
And then the giant pastes him a good one. Hmerrin rolls with the blow, but this is getting bad.

Nira takes a quick peek around the tree to see what's going on. She wants to heal Hmerrin but has a few problems. First, between both the fog cloud and incendiary cloud she can't even see him. Second, at top speed she can't even get close to cast a heal spell on him. And third, she's pretty sure her spell is going to be countered if she runs out there. "Need you to withdraw back to me to help you, Hmerrin!"
She instead tries to help Gaffer, who looks to have been hit hard by the Dispels.
"We killed you once. We can again" she calls back to the Maharaja "So pick a god and make your peace with them"

Gaffer drops suddenly to the ground as his form is forcible reverted to that of human, stumbling as he all but deflates under the dispelling. He manages to push free of the writhing tentacles in that grab at him, and remains uninjured. The whisper to the north is concerning, but as long as the animals are out of the fight for the moment, he is glad to change focus.
The cloud giant takes down it's foes with a great effort, and finally succumbs to the molten heat that pours out from the statues wounds.
Wordlessly, he moves towards the center of the room and turns to face the throne, and moves his staff in an arc through the air, calling his last wave of fire to erupt from the earth, smothering the Majara and remaining statue.

Yrul slips free of the Black Tentacles and figures roughly where Sahsa and the Gorilla are to the north. Des heads towards the south and the Maharaja. Hmerrin continues to fight on, knowing the Incendiary Cloud will likely be his end even if the statue is not. He lands another blow from the warhammer. Ramirez begins his song anew and casts Haste, effecting Des, Danko and Hmerrin Nira calls for Hmerrin to fall back so she can heal him. She then attempts and succeeds at dispelling the Tentacles. She then casts Magic Circle vs Evil on Des. Gaffer is unceremoniously deposited on the floor, moving towards the center of the room, he castsFire Storm Once again the Maharaja remains unscathed. Danko soars to the south and casts Finger of Death. The jackal headed Rakashasa grins at the dragon.

There has to be a way to save Hmerrin. She just needs to act fast. Heroically fast. And it's that thought that gives her an idea that just might work.
Nira uses her quicken rod to make herself move even faster, and with that last charge used she tucks the rod back into her glove of storing. She tries to swoops in to where she last saw Hmmerin - or at least where she heard his last words. "No. They will NOT be her last words". She fumbles about to try and help him.
She knows the maharajah can see her when she's invisible, but perhaps the mist and incendiary cloud will give her cover, or at least enough to save Hmerrin.

Yrul and her Shadow Tiger head north with the Shadow Dancer stopping in the Silence zone. Hmerrin warns everyone about fire repairing the statue and then falls in a fountain of blood and lies very still. Ramirez calls out to Nira for help and while continuing his song, moves to a position to fire at the Maharaja. Des moves to make his way around one of the tables and reminds Danko that they are on the same side. Danko fends off the mental attack, flies back and casts Stoneskin upon himself. Nira flies down to Hmerrin after quickly casting Haste. The Incendiary Cloud burns as she enters. Nira Reflex DC 25 Dmg 16 and on Fire Despite the burning ash cloud, Nira invokes her powers over life and death to restore the fighter and then heroically casts Heal to put him back in the fight. The silence inhibited matters somewhat. She couldn't hear the inspiring song or any instructions shouted. Then again, she was equally immune to other vocalised magical effects and being in the gloom the silence only aided her stealth. She resolved to keep perfectly still and see what was kind enough to move within striking range. Both Snickit and Dabz had done extremely well against the Gorilla. It should, she felt, if it was being reasonable, have died from the bleed before being able to find healing. Then again, it was patently very capable, being able to spot a crouching and hidden tiger behind a tree. So, that meant she really shouldn't underestimate it at all!

He catches sight of the healed Gorilla coming from the trees behind them and turns to aim his spell there instead, a monstrous purple worm erupting forth beside the ape and immediately attacking the foe before it.
The fogs and fires are too much of a hazard, and Gaffer turns his mind to removing those. Casting again, drawing powerful winds to spread from himself and begin dispersing the clouds.

Crud. Nira finds herself still in the same place. "Hmm.. they're able to teleport though. That could be a problem". She's heard of certain spells that block planar travel depending on the person's heart, and deduces it could be one of those. Given her lack of success in dispelling the maharajah's spells so far she has little chance of removing it now.
She must go on the defensive. Nira swiftly bolsters her own defenses and prepares to be clubbed.

Yrul waits within the Dim Light and Silence as only a Shadow Dancer can. Ramirez staves off the Feeblemind spell and after a quick reposition, fires and strikes the Maharaja with an arrow. Hmerrin grabs his War Hammer and deftly gets to his feet. The Falchion comes down with terrible speed, barely missing. Nira tells Hmerrin that she cannot stay, offering a Dimension Door. The spell however fails, blocked by some power. Nira instead casts Stoneskin upon herself Gaffer spies the Gorilla and knows how dangerous that creature is and has a target for his new friend. A gargantuan Purple Worm appears and attacks, Stinging the gorilla. Gaffer then casts Control Winds and the Strong wind blows away the Incendiary Clouds, and Fog Clouds. The blast even extinguishes the fires upon the tables and starting on the well manicured sections of lawn. Danko Lands and casts Stoneskin upon himself

Yrul moved up stealthily behind the gorilla. Snickit and Dabz had almost slain it last time. She hoped that they could do so again. To that end, all she did was position herself She wanted the full advantage of surprise.

OOps! Natural 1 rolled. Yrul is not as sneaky as she wants to be. So must once again forego any sneak attack damage. Sigh. Perhaps it will suffice that the Purple Worm gives her flanking. It's the best she can hope for under the circumstances.

The wind having done it's job, Gaffer pushes through the mounting tiredness, it has been a long time since he's called upon so much magical energy in one day. He begins casting again, pulling more creatures from the world to fight on their side.
The purple worm battles with the Gorilla, attemping to bite and sting and the creature but fails to land a meaningfull blow. Hopefully it can at least provide an opening for Yrul.
With Nira beside him, Hmerrin's situation appears less dire, but it looks like Ram can't withstand the Majara's onslaught for long.

Nira was quite enjoying having the fog cloud between her and the maharajah, and with it gone he has a clear line of sight to counter her spells. What's worse is Ram needs help. Yrul, having had success against the Gorilla already, moves to close on him again. Des closes on the Maharaja. Gaffer begins another casting for more allies. The Purple Worm misses the Gorilla. Ramirez steps back from the Maharaja and attempts to Dimension Door, the spell fails. Hmerrin channels his inner Tiberius and destroys the Bronze Statue Nira makes for the trees to get out of sight from the Maharaja and still be able to help Ramirez. Casting Wall of Force. The statue falls, but Nira goes off to help Ramirez. And then its this blasted ice again. Hmerrin again avoids getting completely encased (Reflex 28) and the cold resistance helps a lot. But the ice makes it really hard to get anywhere or hit anybody. Which, he admits, is likely the point.

Nira had hoped the maharaja was out of spells and that was why he was resorting to martial combat. Apparently he still has a few spells up his sleeve.
She's glad she was able to spare Ram, but figures the rest of the party are in danger. She's having to triage who to help first. She'll need to have a think about how to help Danko.
Nira casts a heal spell on Ram and then ascends higher into the air. She's not comfortable being so low when Sasha is slinking about. For good measure, she also casts a quickened mirror image spell - just in case.

Gaffer summons the last of his allies for now and sends them towards Sasha, who he notices is prowling towards the other casters. The giants both fail to land a single blow, but hopefully their presence is enough to waylay the tiger.
The purple worm manages to land a powerful bite on the Gorilla and Gaffer is happy to see it trying to grab hold of the ape as well.
For himself, Gaffer runs over to Hmerrin. He's not as good a healer as Nira but he can provide a little respite once he catches his breath.

Yrul, Thanks to the inspiring song of Ramirez, lands a flurry of blows killing the Gorilla. Danko reels under the Stunning spell. 7/8 Rounds Des exchanges combat blows with the Maharaja and heals himself as well. The paladins blessed weapon stirkes unerringly and visciously. Ramirez moves to Nira. Hmerrin avoids the worst of the icy spell and drinks a flying potion, letting his hammer fall to the ground next to his axes. The Ice continues to entangle Nira casts Heal on Ramirez, quickly adds Mirror Image and flies upwards into the tree canopy. Gaffer's allies attack. Yrul heads south towards the Maharaja Gaffer casts CCW on Hmerrin and calls for his allies to head south as well. Though the Purple Worm cannot understand, the spell compels it to head towards Gaffer's enemies. Danko reels under the Stunning spell. 6/8 Rounds Hmerrin scoops up his axes and flyies along the follr to the Maharaja and Des. Ramirez fires an arrow that the Maharaja deflects just before it strikes. Des attacks and as he does so a surge of power pours from the Maharaja. The falchion moves faster than comprehension, as if the Maharaja was able to slow time itself and blocks 3 of the strikes. Yes the Vampiric Touch Damaged Des 35 Nira feels the surge as well as a gesture from the lord of the Rakasha catches her spell and counters it
The Maharaja is bleeding heavily, the silvery pools that are his eys are tinged with red, thier luster from just moments before has faded.

One giant charges over and manages to get in range of Sasha to last out an attack but fails to hit the quick moving tiger.
The other giant approaches the Majara and attempts to grab hold of the Rakshasa.

Gravity surrounding Sasha inverts, and he tries to send the big cat away before it can ravage Hmerrrin.

Hmerrin sways under the Sun attack 1/2 rounds Danko does as well. 5/8 rounds Yrul heads south. The Giants arrive, but neither can hit the quick cat, Sasha. The Purple Worm continues heading south. Gaffer casts Reverse Gravity under Sasha and send the cat to the ceiling Nira casts Blindness, but it has no affect. She then ends the conflict with Power Word Kill and though the Maharaja tries to counter it, he fails and drops to a knee.
Liquid silver pours from his eyes as he grasps for breath. He looks up at Hmerrin and over to Nira. No! Impossible! The Necklaces!" he spits "The Destroyers shall have your World! ALL OF IT!"
Silver continues to flow, an impossible amount pooling and spreading out, now in a 5' radius and growing. There is a final surge of power that hits the entire chamber with a silver glittering wall that seems to past directly through everything including you. The Giants and Purple Worm instantly wink out of existence as the wave hits, but other than that, you do not feel any different or notice anything.
Sasha roars and growls and then folds in on herself again and is gone.
Yrul again moved forward. There was a mighty table ahead and that was perfect for shadow dancers. Whereas most would go around or over it, she went under it. Hiding was instinctual to her. If the Maharajah returned, he wouldn't see her! Well, he wouldn't if Snickit and Dabz would keep quiet.

Gaffer feels as if he has been stunned as well. "Is it really done? What in the Wold was the last bit of magic?" and then he turns to the fallen body of Des and his shoulders slump.
They need to save Des, and figure out if the Majara is dead, and escape, and stop these destroyers.
And the pool is growing?
"I vote we carry Des and get moving. I'm not convinced that pool won't grow to cover this entire realm." and if nobody objects, he'll move forward to pick up Des, making sure to stow his weapon, and move him away from the pool.

Yrul closes up with the group as Ramirez congratulates Nira on the final blow, but the bard is concerned about the threat the Maharaja levelled. Who or what are the Destroyers? Gaffer too, wonders about the last bit of magic The Tide witnessed. Questions perhaps for later, thinking they should pick up Des's body and get going. Nira wants to get going, she can petition Gargul for Des, but it will take a minute and she does not want to stay put. Hmerrin recovers from being stunned and agrees with Nira, adding Gargul might not even be able to get to where they are. He puts Des up over his shoulder Half a minute later, Danko recovers from the stunning spell.
The pool of silver has stopped expanding and the room is eerily quiet save the pleasant sound of the waterfall at the far northern end of the grand room. Treasures of art, jewell encrusted figurines, loose gems, statuettes, serving ware and table decor is everywhere not too mention the finery worn by the maharaja and his guard.

She cast a worried look at Desdichado. It was a shock: he was dead and not her! That thought made her appreciate his sacrifice the more. That he'd perished had certainly spared her own life. If he could be returned to life, that was the priority.

She fishes about in her pack for the diamond dust they found earlier. "Perfect!"
Nira closes her eyes and reaches out to take Des's hand. "Lord Gargul, I hope you're watching."

Then you hear it, "Ah you see and feel it now dont you?" The voice of the Maharaja! They will never get you clear before I have your soul and with it rise again. Fools! Ha Ha Ha!" The group has a very quick conversation about getting out. Ramirez brings up the Dwarf mentioned that the palace has quite a number of slaves, what about them? Hmerrin counters with the fact that he also said the place was crawling with Rakshasa and the group is in no condition for another battle. There is time to scoop a treasure or two and Yrul only needs a moment or two and 'acquires' the Falchion used by the Maharaja. Nira then has an idea! A Miracle And with that she opens a portal to petition Gargul. Or at least she hopes to from this place....

A thought appears in each of our heroes minds.
"I HEAR YOU. I COME."
Then it is as if walls and structures are fading in substance. They are still there, but a warmth and a softly glowing light begins to grow in the distance with an intensity that something within you can feel.
It grows. It comes.
Then you see him. A figure dressed as a wrestler wearing no shirt, but but does wear a huge grin. His face is wide and earnest with close cropped black hair. His skin is oiled and ready for battle. His hands are massive, with fists the size of his head.
Courage swells within your hearts as you begin to guess who this being is.
Des of course recognizes him instantly.
As he walks towards you, ignoring walls and other barriers, he begins to take on a more divine appearance. And then there are no more worries or concerns within you.
A bright light that burns away the darkness and warms the heart and soul emanates from his presence.
Then as he approaches he changes form again into that of a human monk. His face is wide and earnest. His brow is wrinkled with concentration and his head is covered with close cropped black hair.
"HELLO. I AM DOMI. I AM HONORED TO MEET YOU FACE TO FACE."
He searches each of you faces and his smile sobers a bit.
He stares at a spot near Des' body and says, "DESDICHADO, IN YOUR PLEA YOU USED MY NAME FIRST. GARGUL MAY BE A BIT MIFFED AT THAT." (He is looking at where the spirit of Des stands.) His grin widens and he seems to be enjoying that quite a bit.
"SO I HAVE COME. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR. YOU HAVE DONE GREAT THINGS HERE AND...(he raises his voice to be heard by all around) YOU NOW HAVE THE PROTECTION OF THE GODS OF WOLD. SO BACK OFF. THESE HEROES ARE UNDER OUR PROTECTION."
He pauses looking around him at things unseen.
"ARE YOU READY TO TRAVEL, FRIENDS, OR DO YOU HAVE A FEW MORE THINGS TO DO OR PERHAPS....PICK UP?
"FOR MYSELF, I HAVE ONLY ONE BURDEN TO CARRY. "
He smiles warmly and gently picks up the body of Des with his powerful hands and holds it in his mighty hands, carrying it gently and with respect.
He turns to the spot he was looking at before.
"DES, YOU DID EXCEPTIONALLY WELL. I AM PROUD TO BE THE GOD YOU HONOR." He then bows.
He turns to the rest of our heroes.
"YOU ALL DID EXCEPTIONALLY WELL. YOU HONOR ALL THE GODS OF WOLD WITH YOUR DEEDS."
He then wait patiently until our heroes tell him they are ready to travel. There seems to be no urgency any longer.

Whether it's the light or the assurance that the group are under Domi's personal protection, Nira feels a sense of safety that she hasn't for quite some time.
She takes a knee. "Lord Domi, we weren't expecting you." Nira looks to the others and comes to the realisation that she may have cast the miracle too hastily. If they were to be fronting a god the least she could have done was clean the blood and grime from their faces and clothes first. They are quite a sight and not - in her view - suitably presented. She can only hope that Domi himself would see these as signs of a hard won and worthy battle.
Having already collected the maharajah's robe, Nira tucks it safely into her haversack. "It's ok Danko. I got it". There is more she would like to collect but it probably wouldn't be good form to keep a god waiting too long.
She makes note to rib Des later that he's 'a burden'.

She bowed, but it was only to cover a quick scurry under the table once more. Shadow Dancers liked shadows, not light.
"Now look what you did!" She reprimanded Snickit and Dabz. One, or more likely both, had done something to induce a GOD to turn up! Then again.....didn't Nira mention a 'mireacle'. This would be it then; not that she was sure. She'd never actually seen a miracle before, but this sure felt pretty miraculous.
"Now be quiet. We don't want to be interrupting the nice god's miracles, do we?" She encouraged her weapons to compliance so that she and little menagerie of friends didn't attract any attention.

Desdichado can hardly hold back a huge grin at seeing Domi in "person". Not just that he can to the rescue, but his jokes, his demeanor - everything is just as Desdichado always thought it would be! He stands respectfully, but confidently, before his Patron.
"Thank you, Domi!" he exclaims. Like a child proudly telling his father about one of his accomplishments, he asks Domi, "Did you see the fight? These things are tough - and boy are they no good!" The feeling of peace makes him eager and a little more talkative than usual. "Every one of the Tide really showed their mettle in this one! Oh, and Domi - there are many people here these rakshasa have as slaves. Is there anything we can do to save them? Have we saved them?"
Almost as if just realizing what he sees, he looks at Domi carrying his body and looks a little shocked and embarrased. "Oh, are we going to the Lands of Rest now?"

The concerns wash from Hmerrin like dirt in a bath.
The fighter takes a knee at the god's appearance, but rises shortly thereafter with the realization that Domi doesn't seem to care much about formalities.
"Thank you, Lord Domi," he replies to the praise given by the god.
He did seem to invite the group to gather stuff up, and as there is plenty lying around... Hmerrin scarfs up the loose lying gems. He then waits patiently for the others to finish and gives Domi a polite nod.

Domi grins at Danko and says, "MR PUREHEART, MY APOLOGIES. I NEEDED MY POWERS ON FULL TO GET HERE."
Domi's aura fades and it is just the monk standing before you looking very human and sounding very human.
"That's better."
He turns to Gaffer and says, "You are indeed welcome, sir. I came to help and I intend to."
He gives his hand to Nira and pulls her to her feet. "I don't think Gargul expected me to act so quickly either. I'll be hearing about this from him for quite some time I suspect."
Domi turns to Yrul. "I have removed my aura, Shadowdancer. Please come out and be at ease."
He looks at Dez and says, "I am perceiving the fight now, Dez. It indeed was epic in every way. You and your comrades define what it means to be an adventurer and a hero. I am honored to play my small part in this now. And yes, we will depart soon for the Lands of Rest to visit my comrade, the God of Life and Death."
"You are welcome, Hmerrin. I am sure that you make Bralin Stoneminder proud sir."
Domi nods to Ramirez. "When you compose this tale, be sure to emphasize the role that you and your comrades here played. All I'm doing is barging in and being sure that all the glory falls upon you! You took all the risks. The future will view this as your story. I am here just to aid you. There is little risk to me, while you risked everything!"
Domi turns back to Desdichado. "Son, tell me more about the slaves here and what the Rakshasa have been up to. What happens in this place doesn't always or immediately reach our ears."

Nira hesitantly accepts Domi's hand as he helps her rise. Even in such a simple act she can feel the strength of the God. She is a little concerned at the mention of Gargul though. "I hope we haven't caused any conflict". The Tide have been through many adventures, but causing a rift between two of the most powerful Gods of the Wold would be a new one.
She bows her head and that's when she notices it. Her hands are quite dirty from all the events of the day, and there's even some blood on them from when she healed the others' wounds. And Domi touched them. The color fades from her face as she worries about the implications. Has she rubbed dirt - or worse - into his hand? She swiftly clasps her hands behind her back where they can't be seen. What has she done?!

~Ugh!~ She'd been spotted. What sort of a shadow dancer was she if she couldn't even hide from a god? A good one, she decided. She crept out from under the table grateful for the significant diminution of light and as much as it rankled, negated the 'darkness that was cloaking Snickit. She'd been very much enjoying that gloom. It had saved her life. Still, if the nice god wasn't going to be painfully bright, she wasn't going to be selfishly dark.
"Don't complain, Snickit. It's rude." She admonished her pick. Its twin, Dabz duly gloated and made a raspberry sound at Snickit - or rather did so in Yrûl's head. !Shhh! Dabz! Don't be so childish! He'll notice - THEN you'll be sorry."
Yrûl was very certain that both of her weapons (picks) were actually sentient and fully capable of communication. That most of that communication was far from helpful was a decided handicap at times, but it was certainly useful to be able to instruct them in exactly what it was she wanted and to exhort them to greater effort. Belatedly, she realised that she was ignoring the god in the room.
"Ah....Yes... well....I'll just stand quietly over here then." She muttered apologetically as she sidled off to the side so as not to impede proceedings in any way.

Gaffer smiles in amusement as he watches the various reactions of his friends. He naturally holds the Gods in the high regards, and is greatful that Domi has answered the call in their time of need. Still, it is the garden he loves, not the gardeners.
He finishes searching through the treasure and chuckles to Ram, "And maybe we don't mention that the only enemies we couldn't defeat were a pair of birds."

Hmerrin actually turns red in embarrassment at the favorable comparison to his childhood hero, by a god no less. "Thank you, Sir," is all he can manage to respond.
Domi's question regarding this plane and the slaves therein is on point. Waiting politely for Dez to respond first, the fighter puts waterskin to lips for a much needed drink.
.."would you like a carrot?.."
Hmerrin's spit take is epic. He only has time to turn his head slightly away from the god before blowing a mouthful of water across the remains of a destroyed statue.
"I'm sorry," he snorts/sobs/chuckles. "Really sorry. But...I mean...seriously... [snort] .. you just...[snicker]...a carrot?!?"
Coming down from the fight and having met a god and then Danko...well its all the man can do to try and maintain his composure.
He stands there, taking slow breaths and trying very, very hard not to dissolve into laughter.

"Well, you see," responds Desdichado, "we came here to put a stop to these rakshasa from harrassing the Wold. They're slavers and worse...much, much worse."
He describes to Domi some of the truly horrific things they've seen the rakshasa do here and in the Wold. He briefly describes how the great dragon Vernyx sent them to find Baba Yaga's hut and how they used it to access the rakshasa's home.
"Killing the Maharaja was hopefully a good step toward stopping them finally, but we don't even know how many slaves are left in this...plane, or wherever we are. Hopefully we've disrupted their plans enough that many can escape."
"In fact, if they can find their way to Baba Yaga's hut," Desdichado describes where it was left in the jungle, "they might even get home from there. We saw a few others leave that way."
At Danko's offer of a carrot to his Patron, all Dez can do is bow is head and try to suppress a laugh.

Domi grins at NIra, but doesn't say anything and then turns to nod at Yrul.
When Danko offers him the carrot, he says, "Sure, Danko. I think I'll save the carrot for later if you don't mind." He puts it into a pocket in his robe.
Domi looks drolly at Hmerrin as the fighter laughs, but doesn't crack a smile.
Domi turns to Dez and listens carefully to all he has to say. "That matches my information as well...for the most part."
He looks at each in turn and says, "It seems, heroes, that our business here is now at a place where we can travel to the Lands of Rest to see what Desdichado's fate will be.
He changes into his divine form.
"STAY NEAR TO ME AT ALL TIMES, NO MATTER WHAT MAY HAPPEN."
He pointedly looks at Yrul.
"YRUL STAND BY ME. HERE!"
And with that command, Yrul moves against his will to stand directly beside Domi on his right hand."
"GOOD! "
With a shout, He commands, "GATEWAY!"
A magical gateway with opposing hammers carved into it at the top, flickers into view. He nods, satisfied.
"FOLLOW NOW!"
Domi takes a few steps forward and passes through the gate and disappears.

Yrûl swallowed nervously. She'd been commanded by a god! The next instant she found herself dutifully standing to the right of the celestial being. The thought did occur that perhaps Des wasn't the only one dead. Perhaps they all were and this is what happened when you died. But, Snickit and Dabz! Surely they couldn't be as easily dispatched?
'Hang in there, Guys.' She mentally told them. Naturally, they felt that this was all just a grand adventure and immediately set to arguing over who Domi liked best. Yrûl did her best to ignore the squabbling. She felt very vulnerable. She'd have much rather been behind the god than stood right up next to him. It was a Shadow Dancer thing - having the option to hide behind something. She consoled herself in the knowledge that no one would be looking at little her when there was a REAL 100% bona fide GOD stood before them!

As each of you emerge from the other side of the gate, you find yourself in a corridor of sorts. The walls and ceiling are made of flame.
"WE ARE WITHIN THE BORDER OF THIS REALM. THEY SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FIND US HERE. IF THEY DO, I'LL HAVE TO GET DIRECTLY INVOLVED AND THAT WOULD BE REGRETABLE.
"COME!"
Domi sets off within this fiery corridor at a fast rate.
"YOU DON'T ACTUALLY HAVE TO MOVE YOUR FEET. JUST "WILL" YOURSELF TO MOVE AND YOU WILL AT THE RATE OF SPEED YOUR MIND CAN IMAGINE. DO NOT LAG BEHIND OR RACE AHEAD. STAY TOGETHER."
Domi slowly increases his speed while not moving his feet. Time and distance is...."perceptive" in this place. It seems to last forever and also seems as if you are all stuck within a moment. And movement is with your mind.
As you move, the flames begin to have a purple hue. Then the flames begin to die out around you.
Domi commands, "GATE SHOW YOURSELF." a purplish marble gate forms. It is locked and closed.
"I MIGHT AS WELL LET YOU FIND THE KEY FOR THIS GATE."
He grins. "THINK OF IT AS A TEST TO SEE IF YOU TRULY ARE THE BEST ADVENTURING GROUP CURRENTLY ACTIVE IN THE WOLD! REMEMBER, MOST GATES OUT HERE IN THE PLANES HAVE AN EVERCHANGING KEY THAT MUST BE NEAR THE GATE. ONE SIMPLY HAS TO USE LOGIC, MAGIC AND INTUITION TO FIND IT."
..."WELL GET TO IT HEROES. IF YOU NEED SPELL RESTORED, ASK."
He pauses listening to something. He speaks.
"YES GARGUL WE ARE ON OUR WAY AND OUT OF THE RAKSHAZA REALM. WE SHALL BE THERE DIRECTLY BY THE LOGICAL ROUTE. NOW LEAVE ME TO IT AND JUDGE SOMETHING. YOU NEVER DO THINK THAT ANYONE ELSE CAN DO A JOB BETTER THAN YOU. GO AWAY."
He sits on a step in front of the gate and pulls out the carrot and takes a bite.

Moving without walking; that was odd. Still, Yrul tried. She jumped ahead, dropped back and almost went into a wall before she managed to emulate Domi's 'speed'. With the flames expired and upon seeing the door, she smiled. Opening doors was a shadow dancer thing. Sure keys were useful, but they were also optional. She looked around. Why waste her skills if this 'key' was simply going to present itself?
"Here key! Come on, there's a good little key!" She called to it. It made sense. After all, she always got the best out of Snickit and Dabz by talking to them; so perhaps the key too was sentient.

She held off attempting to pick the lock as sneaking into - whatever this unearthly place was - would likely be frowned upon. Then again, she had been invited to open the door. ~~~

Nira wills herself forwards, but never ahead of Domi.
This gateway puzzle could be a fun one. "Ok. We can do this."
Nira clears her throat and then in her best Domi impression calls "GATE. OPEN!" Expecting it not to work, she glances somewhat sheepishly to Domi and blushes "I thought it worth a try"
She turns away from the gateway and starts experimenting with the flames, seeing how her distance from them can affect their color and what it takes for them to die out. The purple hue of the flames may relate to the purple color of the gate. She then tries to see if she can 'will' them to do things much like she can move herself.
While testing out the flames she tries to start a conversation with Domi. "I do hope we haven't drawn you away from anything important. That's not to say, I mean, of course everything you do is important. I mean, well.. nevermind". Being around a god is making her quite flummoxed. "Ugh. Probably best to stay quiet now Nira".
Nira has cast many spells today and by her count it's been more than any day before and she's running very low. She'd like to have her spells restored by Domi, but it just feels like cheating to ask for them right away. She wants to at least appear to use her brain first.

Gaffer keeps to a composed drift forwards while they follow Domi through the corridor. Once the search for they key is presented however he begins to fly around with a slightly reckless abadon. He's used wings, become air itself, by flying in his own form is a rarity he greatly enjoys.
He doesn't forget to search through the flames as he does so, like Nira, imagining that the similarity of colour is likely a clue. Though part of his mind wonders if this is a more classic riddle, and Domi themselves is carrying the key.

Desdichado remembers back to the orchard maze he was just trapped in. Figuring out riddles like this isn't really his strong suit. But, he figures some more direct actions wouldn't hurt to try.
He knocks on the marble of the gate and calls out, "Hello, is anyone there? Can you please open the gate?" And for good measure he turns to Domi and says, "My Patron, is it possible that we might ask of the key from you?"

Hmerrin finds speeding up without walking to be an exciting experience. "Now leave me to it and judge something" elicits another involuntary chuckle. This is the first entity he's ever encountered who'd dream of addressing Gargul in that manner.
And then its test time.
The fighter considers options not yet taken by his friends. Shrugging, he activates the Brahmah Tattoo on his forearm, Invisibility Purge. Hmerrin scans walls, ceiling, floor, and door for anything key looking [Perception 42]

The key does not come to Yrul when she calls.
The gate does not open at Nira's request.
The key does not come to Ramirez when he tried to imagine it appearing into his hand.
The gate does not respond or open to Dez knocking on it. He does notice that his knock makes no noise as he is currently in spirit form and can't physically touch anything. He begins to wonder what keeps him from just falling through the floor of the corridor. When he calls at the gate, Domi smiles for a second watching him.
When Dez asks Domi if he will give him the key, Domi laughs softly and says, "I DO NOT POSSESS THE KEY."
Gaffer does a very successful perception check and notices the following things in the area near and on the gate.
--The flames outside the corridor they have been traveling within have died out. The walls of the corridor are translucent and the area beyond seems a purplish blue. As the party traveled through the corridor the color of the area beyond its walls have changed from red flames to purple flames to now just a purple hue.
--The gate is constructed with purple marble stones a bit brighter than the area behind the translucent walls of the corridor. On the left side of the gate is a indentation, easily ignored being the same color as the rest of the gate. The indentation is about 6 inches deep and also 6 inches on a side. The bottom of this indentation is curved as if it could hold a ball. A black arrow is painted into the indentation that points in a clockwise circle.
Hmerrin activates Brahmah's Tattoo and with his perception check also sees what Gaffer has found, but he notices something else as well. An invisible crystal ball is sitting to the right of the gate on the "floor" of the corridor.

Yrûl wasn't really adept at spotting invisible things; but then she didn't need to be as Hmerrin had helpfully purged the pesky condition from a little ball that would conveniently fit in a little hole with a little arrow above it, helpfully giving a little hint about which way to rotate said ball.
"Come on, you two, we can do this." She encouraged her weapons before stepping over to collect the orb. It looked like it was made of glass, so she tossed it in the air and caught it several times before pretending to fumble it. She grinned impishly at the concern exhibited by any that were troubled by her antics. Belatedly she remembered Dez needed hauling back from the realms of the dead and here she was being a frivolous shadow dancer, as usual. She chalked it down to the adverse influence of Snickit and Dabz. She'd have to have words with them later. For now, by way of apology, she endeavoured to open the door.
