Gaffer steps clear of the Gate as Yrul moves forward to place the orb in back in it's resting place. He does indeed believe for a moment she has dropped it and recoils as he expects to hear it clatter to the... ground? But thankful she catches it a moment later and he untenses.
He looks to Domi for some sign of approval that this is indeed the correct key.

Gaffer is quite distracted by the freedom of movement as his disposal and takes a moment to refocus as Domi's words jolt him back. He drifts forwards to be beside Yrul and shows where the sphere is meant to go, and once placed he gently turns it clockwise until the gate reacts.

When the sphere has been replaced into the circular "divot" in the recessed part of the wall, and the sphere twisted clockwise, there is an instant shimmering and the gate silently opens.
"WELL DONE. KNOW HEROES THAT THIS IS HOW MOST IF NOT ALL GATEWAYS IN THE PLANES WORK. THE KEY CHANGES AFTER EACH USE. KEYS MAY BE HIDDEN, INVISIBLE, DISGUISED, ETC. ONCE I SAW A GATE TO MAAB'S TABLE ON THE WOLD PROPER THAT HAD 100 REAL DIAMONDS IN A BAG BURIED NEARBY AND ONLY ONE WAS THE KEY. I HAVE TO THINK THERE WAS A WAY TO IDENTIFY WHICH ONE WAS THE KEY, BUT THIS GROUP HAD TO TRY ABOUT 70 OF THE DIAMONDS BEFORE THEY FOUND THE ONE THAT WAS THE KEY.
"MORE LIKELY THAN NOT, IT WILL TAKE SKILLS, SPELLS, AND LOGIC TO FIGURE IT OUT. THIS ONE WAS A BIT EASIER THAN MOST SINCE THE KEY WAS ALREADY IN THE "SLOT." BUT WHO WOULD LOOK FOR THE KEY WHERE IT IS NEEDED?"
Domi, then take a look and motions saying, "AFTER YOU. I'M ASSUMING YOU'VE BEEN TO THE SHADOWLANDS BEFORE?"
The area ahead of you has a bluish violet hue but there is no discernible source for the "twilight" scene around you. It is chilly and there is a slight breeze. There is no smell. At least not here.
"JUST AS YOU CAN ADJUST YOUR SPEED IN THE FEY CORRIDOR, YOU MAY ADJUST YOUR VISION HERE, BUT NOT YOUR SPEED. IF YOU CONCENTRATE, YOU CAN SEE COMPLETELY ACROSS THE PLANE.
"CONCENTRATE TO YOUR LEFT AND YOU'LL SEE LESS LIGHT AND WITHIN THE DARKNESS A BLACK ORNATE GATE. THAT LEADS TO KOSHE-MARR, CREATED BY MARTEAUS, FORMERLY ONE OF THE TWIN PUNISHERS OF GARGUL, CREATED TO DO HIS WILL IN THE FIRST AGE. IT IS SORT OF A CREATION WITHIN A CREATION, DONE BY MARTEAUS WHEN HE REALIZED THAT THE CREATOR WAS GOING TO LET THE WOLD DIE TO DEFEAT HIM AT THE END OF THE 3RD AGE. HE SURVIVED BY USING ONE OF THE ITEMS OF CREATION. SO KOSHE MARR REFLECTS THE MIND OF MARTEAUS."
He waits for a bit to let the group concentrate and look at the Black Gate.
"CONCENTRATE AHEAD AND TO YOUR RIGHT AND YOU'LL SEE THE SKY TURNS RED AND IF YOU FOCUS ON THAT, YOU CAN SEE RED STREAMS LEADING TO THE RIVER OF BLOOD THAT CARRIES ALL SOULS TO THE LANDS OF REST.
"DEZ, YOU MAY ALREADY BE FEEING THE PULL NOW THAT YOU ARE HERE. IT'S OK. DON'T FIGHT IT. LET IT TAKE YOU AND IT WILL UNERRINGLY GUIDE YOU TO THE LANDS OF REST AND GARGUL'S THRONE. WE'LL MEET YOU THERE. YOU WILL BE SAFE. FAREWELL FOR A SHORT TIME, MY NEW FRIEND."
"GO AHEAD, DEZ. SAY YOUR TEMPORARY GOODBYES. WE WILL FOLLOW AND MEET YOU THERE. IT IS BEST NOT TO FIGHT IT AS THAT BECOMES VERY UNPLEASANT, I UNDERSTAND. TRUST ME."
As he speaks several souls flit past towards the River of Blood. One looks at Domi in his divine form and whispers, "Oh wow" as he passes.

"See you in a bit, Dez." she said quietly and again looking over at the dark gate. Why couldn't they go that way? It looked so much more inviting than the red thing? She turned back to face the way ahead.
"Yep, ready. All ready. Ready as a ready thing that's ready. Even Snickit and Dabz are ready, Your Godliness."

He allows himself to be carried along by the pull, somewhat anxious to be standing before Gargul soon.

As Dez floats off, the man decides 'take care' was a pretty stupid thing to say.
Seeking to distract himself, he concentrates to the left. The black gate stands ominously, he thinks. He makes a mental note to stay out of it. Reflects the mind of Marteaus. Doesn't sound pleasant at all.
He's not sure what to think about the red streams on the right leading to the Lands of Rest. He supposes they're all taking that trip eventually. He'd just like some more time in the Wold first.

Nira tries extending her vision as far as she can to the right and then to the left. Doing it quickly makes her feel a little dizzy though. Curious what will happen, she then tries looking straight up.
When it comes time to say some parting words to Des, she tries to make light of the situation. "Just try not to be a 'burden' for Gargul, you hear?" She says, forcing a grin. The smile fades as she adds in all seriousness "We'll be right behind you".

Dez slowly floats out of site picking up speed as he moves towards the River of Blood that carries the souls of the dead to the Lands of Rest and Gargul's judgment.
Gargul, seeing that our heroes are ready if not anxious to get on with it, begins walking forwards, but he looks to Nira. You cast the Miracle spell, Nira, and we are now in the Shadowlands proper...so any moment now...
In a few seconds, magic envelopes the party and they too begin to fly towards the Lands of Rest.
"THIS IS NOT POPULARLY KNOWN, BUT WHEN IN THE WOLD PROPER OR IN THE SHADOWLANDS, AND A FEW OTHER PLACES, GARGUL GRANTS A BOON FOR ADVENTURERS COMING TO SPEAK FOR AND ASK FOR A RETURN TO LIFE. THIS BOON IS TO GRANT QUICK AND SAFE PASSAGE TO HIS THRONE.
"YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO CHANGE DIRECTION SOMEWHAT TO THE LEFT AND THE RIGHT. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SPEED UP AND SLOW DOWN A BIT, BUT ONCE THE SPELL IS CAST YOU WILL INDEED TRAVEL TO GARGUL'S THRONEROOM. YOU CAN'T DECIDE NOT TO GO.
Our heroes, wanting now just to "get there," speed up and angle to the right towards the River of Blood. For a while, you keep Dez in sight, but as he approaches the river and sinks into it, you lose sight of him. You float or fly at a decent rate of speed beside the river, but not over it. You can smell its earthy magic and it is both sweet and somehow unsettling, brimming with power. Not blood, but Woldsblood, the stuff of creation.
The River of Blood flows into a lake making the afterlife lands look like a continent on the far side of a brownish red sea. It seems divided into three parts.
The left is dark, looks partly destroyed, and you find yourself not wanting to look at it. If you force it, you begin to hear cries of torment and screams of anguish.
The center is a mountainous area with a palace as its gateway, obviously Maab's Palace and within Maab's Table. If you concentrate you can hear elvish music playing from that direction.
To the right, is a paradise of rivers, lakes, trees and low hills. Near the shore of the lake of Woldsblood is a Black Amphitheatre or "half dome." Gargul's seat of judgment. A small crowd can be seen within and a line of souls lined up to the left of the throne waiting for judgment.
Miles and more behind Gargul's Throne is a Palace with uncountable columns of what looks to be marble. This is where any Conclave of the Gods is held. Beyond that and to the left is a simple ancient house or cottage. The Oshirr House where the Wold was created.
You begin to slow down as you approach Gargul's Throne and softly land on the grass. The first thing you notice is that you can feel a prickly feeling as you walk here through your boots. It is if the grass is needle sharp in some magical way. It seems.....more real. Everything here excites your eyes and looks brighter, clearer, bolder....more real.
Of course if you've been here before to Gargul's Throne, you remember this, though the memory of some of these details may have faded.
Ahead of you and to the left side you see Desdichado in the line of those to be judged.
Domi looks up at the throne in the distance and says, "THEY ARE HERE. I LEAVE THEM TO YOUR TENDER MERCIES."
He then turns to our heroes and said, "IT TRULY WAS A PLEASURE TO MEET YOU. FARE WELL AND LIVE WELL." He bows slightly and walks away.

"Um, yes, thank your, Your Godliness. We Shadow Dancers are good at that...mostly" Yrûl answered nervously. There were, by her reckoning, far too many gods around here. The sooner they got back to some decent shadows, the better. Plus, it was, she was sure, just a matter of time before Snickit and Dabz came out with something truly inappropriate. Then she'd be in trouble! She fidgeted nervously willing Dez to the front of the queue.

Nira averts her eyes from Gargul's gaze. She cast the miracle, which means she's responsible for getting his attention and that's a big deal. It's the first time she's ever had to seek an audience with him and she isn't sure what to expect.
She smiles and nods her head to Domi as he departs. "The pleasure was ours, I'm sure"
As Nira stands and waits for Des to make it to the front of the queue she has a realisation. All her life she practised spells that would impair a foe rather than kill them, but in recent times she has used spells like Suffocation and in the last fight even Power Word Kill. It makes her wonder. Has she crossed a line? She can rationalise that her foes were evil, and that killing them with a spell was no different to killing them with a sword. But still, has she changed? Is she still 'good'? It's a troubling thought and something she will dwell upon later.

The blood of the wold is an enthralling thing to be near and he is lost for a time in the flow of sensations that follows as they touch to grass more real than all the fields he has walked through. When he looks up, Domi has already left and they are waiting as Des waits.
It's a long line of people before them and it occurs to Gaffer that there is even a chance of seeing a familiar face within the crowd. He averts his gaze. There are thoughts and questions about life best left for when the adventure is done.
He expands his senses and allows his mind to drift, wandering what it would be like to call upon his magic here.

You hear the voice of Gargul. He is not happy. An old lady spirit with a very pointed and hooked nose stands before him. He takes another look at the book in front of him as a quill pen writes by itself into the book. Gargul reads and thinks for a moment.
"THAYADORA ABLETEN, YOU MURDERED YOUR SISTER WHEN YOU WERE 17 AND WERE NOT CAUGHT. BECAUSE THE WITCH YOU WERE APPRENTICED TO PREFERRED HER BECAUSE SHE STUDIED HARDER. YOU HAD THE BETTER GIFT AND SQUANDERED IT. FEELING CONFIDENT, YOU PROCEEDED TO MURDER FOUR MORE THAT GOT IN YOUR WAY DURING YOUR LIFE. I DON'T HAVE THE SMALLEST SYMPATHY FOR YOUR PLEAS.
"I SENTENCE YOU TO THE ESTATES OF UNREST FOR 100 YEARS TO BE PUNISHED FOR YOUR EVIL DEEDS. YOU THEN YOU WILL COME BEFORE ME AGAIN TO TELL ME WHAT YOU HAVE LEARNED. IF AT THAT TIME, YOU CANNOT SHOW ME YOU ARE WORTHY FOR A REINCARNATED LIFE, YOUR EXISTENCE WILL BE FORFEITED.
"BEGONE!"
A demon appears, grabs her, and both disappear.
Gargul takes a sip of Klah and turns the page in his book. But the book, with a mind of its own begins to glow and many pages turn. The quill pen begins furiously writing on this new page as a strange voice says, "A miracle has been cast on this one's behalf."
He watches our heroes, very carefully observing every movement. Gargul snorts, then speaks.
"FERRIN AVELOSE, ALSO KNOWN AS DESDICHADO, COME FORWARD. I'M BUMPING YOU TO THE FRONT OF THE LINE. ONE OF YOUR ADVENTURING COMRADES, ONE NIRA WYNVYRE, HAS CAST A MIRACLE SPELL ON YOUR BEHALF.
"ADVENTURERS YOU MAY APPROACH TO STAND WITH YOUR COMRADE."

"Approaching. Yes, we can do Approaching, Your Godliness." Yrûl confirmed with an enthusiastic skip forward. 'Just be nice and don't do anything to draw attention.' She warned her weapons, hoping that for once they were actually paying attention. That didn't seem very likely as there were a myriad distractions to fascinate the visitor here. Still, here she was, stood before a God. That wasn't something that happened every day. It was just the sort of thing that tended to consume one's attention and demand a great deal of focus. She had told Snickit and Dabz that this was a God, hadn't she? She felt sure that she had, but then wondered whether gods made you forget stuff. She decided that such was extremely probable as both Snickit and Dabz, mere picks both, were quite adept at making her forget stuff.
Smile. She remembered to smile. It was always good to look friendly when talking to a God.

Nira has never heard anyone call Des by his full name. It doesn't sound right to her. This is Des.
The 'one Nira Wynvyre' also doesn't sound great. It's like the way her mother would call her to admonish her when she'd done something wrong. She knows in her heart that she hasn't done anything wrong in casting that miracle spell. All she has to do is be respectful and truthful. "Also like I was to mother".
She steps forward and gives a low bow. "My lord. Thankyou for granting us this audience."

You hear gasps and whispering in the crowd of onlookers and in the line of those in waiting.
"I hear they are the most powerful current adventuring group active today."
"Boy did they mess up. Maybe they are foolish or dumb."
"Nope, these guys have saved Dirt City from itself over and over again."
"They don't look that powerful."
"Didn't you hear Gargul that one of them cast a high level Miracle spell to resurrect their comrade?"
"And Domi brought them here IN person."
Gargul looks and examines each of our heroes in turn. A wry grin almost escapes his face with the comments of the onlookers. However, he stands, slams his huge walking stick onto the podium and shouts in such a way it echoes off of the Amphitheater and thunder echoes throughout the Lands of Rest:
"SILENCE OR I WILL CLEAR EVERYONE OUT!"
He thinks a bit more and then turns to Dez and speaks directly to him.
"I HAVE REVIEWED WHAT HAPPENED IN YOUR LAST COMBAT, BUT I WANT TO HEAR IT FROM YOU. HAVE NO FEAR. JUST TELL ME WHAT HAPPENED--IN YOUR OWN WORDS."
He turns to Nira. "THEN YOU MAY FORMALLY ASK ME FOR WHAT YOU WISH TO HAPPEN."
"AFTER THEY FINISH, ANY OF THE REST OF YOU MAY SPEAK AS YOU WISH OR NOT. JUST DON'T WASTE MY TIME WITH SOMETHING FRIVOLOUS."
As he speaks that last sentence, he looks at Yrul for a long second. Then at Danko. Then back to Dez, nodding to him to begin.

Yrul jumped when the staff slammed into the ground. She did her best thereafter to 'look normal'. that was never a very easy task for the Wolds' most colourful Shadow Dancer. Looking at Gargul she decided that he too could do with a bit more colour in his life. he probably wouldn't feel the need to be so shouty then. She was about to venture just such an idea when he appended the warning about being 'frivolous'. That was disappointing. Frivolous was fun. She swallowed nervously and looked for someone's shadow to slip into. She was sorely tempted, but decided that even that move might be deemed 'frivolous'.
'Keep still!' She thought, sending that message to Snickit and Dabz. 'If we don't move, he'll forget all about us.' It seemed like a good plan to her. She made like a statue as she waited to hear what Dez had to say. She hoped for his sake that whatebver he said, it wasn't deemed 'frivolous'. Really, what was so wrong with a bit of frivolity now and again?

"Yes, sir," Desdichado begins. "Well, we came to fight the rakshasa Maharaja. He had several of his bodyguards in the room with him. We each picked our targets and I ran forward to confront them in melee. I first fought the Maharaja's tiger - or more properly, I think it was one of them in the form of a tiger. That creature was tough, but by channeling Domi's fury against such evil, I was able to defeat her (or so I thought).
The real Maharaja appeared soon after - what we'd fought had only been some kind of magical copy! He sent me into some far-away maze. In the minute or so I was gone my comrades here fought valiantly. Upon my return, I saw Hmerrin downed by one of the bodyguards, but thankfully Nira was able to revive him shortly after. That made me more determined to end the Maharaja's evil influence, and so the two of us fought one another in fierce battle. I saw Sasha - the tiger - begin to prowl our way as well. I had a feeling that even we downed the Maharaja, that tiger would do me in, but I felt that making such a sacrifice was worth it. As it turned out, a vicious attack from the Maharaja downed me although in my dying breath I saw my friends end him as well at the same time. That seemed to have done in the tiger as well.
In my death, my spirit heard the Maharaja say he would use my soul to return to the Wold. I called out to Domi, you, Alemi and the Woldian Gods in that moment to help me. Apparently Nira was casting her Miracle at the same time! That is when Domi appeared and sent the rakshasa spirits away.
After that, Domi brought us here so that I might stand in judgement before you, oh great one."

From the reactions of the people here, and some of those from there journey, he knows that their adventures are known and talked of by many. This might still be the first time one has been recounted in front of him, by one of their own no less. There is some pride to be felt in what they have done.

Nira does her best not to tremble and waits for Des to finish before she speaks. That will give her a few moments to think. When Des concludes, she takes a half-step forward to state her request.
"My Lord. Put simply, we've come to petition you for the return of Desdichado's soul to the living Wold. He is a faithful and righteous man, and while I'm sure his soul is worthy of the Lands of Rest, there is still more for him to do. More good for him to put in the Wold." She emphasises the word 'good' and then looks to Des. "I am truly fortunate to call him friend, and I'm sure if he were to be allowed to return that he would continue to bring honor to yourself, Lord Domi, and the other Gods of the Wold"
Emboldened, Nira takes another step forward. "If it is Des' time, then my Lord, I humbly ask that you take me as well. We have all of us become as a family, and none travel alone. Even now. I would proudly stay by his side no matter the adventure than to leave Des behind"
"Should payment be due to return him, then I would give half of what remains of the rest of my life to Des to allow his return to the living Wold"

"IT IS INDEED FORTUNATE THAT YOU CALLED OUT FOR DOMI AT THE SAME TIME THAT MISS WYNVYRE CAST HER MIRACLE SPELL. YOUR LOCATION IS NOT ONE WE...MONITOR REGULARLY. IT WOULD HAVE CAUSED A DELAY WHICH COULD HAVE HAD SEVERE CONSEQUENCES. I BELIEVE YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN HEARD...EVENTUALLY."
Then he turns to Nira and frowns.
"DO YOU HONESTLY BELIEVE I WOULD ACCEPT A SACRIFICE, BRIBE OR ANY OTHER OFFER IF I JUDGE DESCHADO TO NOT BE WORTHY OF RESURRECTION? IF SO, YOU STILL HAVE MUCH TO LEARN. HOWEVER, MORTALS ARE MANY TIMES EMOTIONAL ABOUT THEIR CLOSE FRIENDS. AND I APPRECIATE THE SENTIMENT. YOUR OFFER WAS UNNECESSARY."
He pauses and looks at each of you as if determining worth, character, strength of will, and worthiness. He nods.
"DESDICHADO, YOU OBVIOUSLY ARE DESERVING AS YOUR COMRADES ARE HEROIC AND CONTINUE TO DO GREAT THINGS. THESE GREAT THINGS MUST CONTINUE."
I COMMAND YOU TO REJOIN THE LIVING....NOW."
And with that, Des' spirit is forced into the dead body. And it takes a ragged breath as if he had been holding it all this time.
"CONGRATULATIONS SON. AND TO OUR HEROES, I SAY WELL DONE."
He pauses for a moment and then adds.
"I NOW SEND YOU WHERE YOU NEED TO BE."
With a loud popping sound, our heroes disappear from The Lands of Rest and quickly are in flight back to the Shadowlands and....

This would not be a good time for them to go 'wandering off'. She was all smiles contemplating recent events. She'd met two gods and seen Dez returned to life! That was a pretty big day in anyone's book. She was willing to bet that not many colourful Shadow Dancers had days like that.

Hmerrin's words remind him that there's probably still much work to do - the Maharaja was defeated, but what's left of the rest of the rakshasa's domain. And where will they end up from leaving Gargul? Back at Tide House? Maybe somewhere they've never been before?

The Shadowlands vanish and the party finds themselves where they started, in the great palace chamber. Dez slowly gets up from the floor, instinctively grabbing his great axe as he does so. He's alive, but his body aches from head to toe. Places he didn't even know about hurt and he very much looks like a man risen from the dead after being run through the chest.
The room is much like it looked before, save a few differences. Standing about are a dozen human, elf and halfling slaves. By their bewildered expressions and talk, they were alone with the body of Des until very recently. 'He's alive!' 'Alemi's ghost, they're back!' ''Told you they would not leave us to die!'
The group crowds in around The Tide, A voice spoke into their minds and told them to gather and so they did. Once they arrived to find the Body of Des and the rest of the Tide gone, despair set in from some, thinking the Rakashasa had once again cruelly tricked them. The Tide has been gone for at least 2 hours.
The pool of silver, that was the Maharaja is still there, now nearly 20' in diameter and under your perceptive gaze, still spreading, albeit slowly. The statues are destroyed, the Tanaka are slain and the large gorilla lies where he was felled. Sasha and the birds are nowhere to be found.

Ramirez looks at the pool of 'silver' that is still spreading. Is this something we need to worry about? kn check was for info regarding the silver. Ramirez has another thought about the Maharaja. Won't they just elect another to take his place? We may need to negotiate a deal at some point.
There's too many questions, and perhaps, not much time.
Ok, let's gather up some loot. Ramirez encourages the former slaves to do so as well. You can use it for a fresh start once we get out of here. Are there more slaves nearby? We may not have much time to get them.
As far as getting moving, Ramirez offers a shadow walk spell. It may be a little dangerous but it should get us back near the hut, and unless we pick up a lot more refugees it can take all of us.

Nira checks Hmerrin over, but his wounds look pretty well treated (Post on June 7th had Nira heal his wounds, as well as Danko's and Yrul's)
She considers Danko's idea. "Plane Shift might work, but perhaps not from this room. They've done something to block that sort of travel. It might work from outside though. Worth a shot?" She also wonders whether the hut is where they left it. That might also be the ticket home.
Nira offers her haversack to carry whatever loot the group collect.

The Tide get their bearings and exchange a plethora of questions and ideas. High on the list are more Rakshasa and how to prevent, if possible, another from simply taking the Maharaja's place. As well as gathering trinkets and baubles, bags, pockets and pouches are soon stuffed.
As the group talks, a trio of Tanaka appear in the far west door, one of them holding another Rakshasa by the throat. "See?" it croaks looking upward at the Tanaka One of the others yells in despair. "The Maharaja is Dead! Flee!" the speaker turns and runs with one of his companions. The last, squeezes the Rakshasa mightily, breaking the things neck and dropping him to the floor. A silver whisp escapes the body and follows the fleeing Tanaka. A look of astonishment upon its face, it whispers, "It is true then." The Tanaka turns and leaves.
Through another door 2 more former slaves arrive. One of them is reddened from fire, the other appears to have bathed in blood. Both look to be in shock. "Prince Argbond and his party have left your..." he trails off as he takes in the scene before him.
The silver pool begins to slowly swirl as it continues to expand.
The total number of former slaves is 15 and save the last 2 who just entered, they followed Ramirez's encouragement and scooped up some gemstones and pieces of jewelry.

Desdichado looks at the swirling silver mass to see if he can see anything in it (e.g. is the swirl widening and showing anything on the other side, or anything shown in the silver). (Perception: 41) The silver wisp that escapes from the other rakshasa makes him think this might be something like the Maharaja's spirit (Know Religion: 16)
Stepping back, he agrees that heading to the hut is probably the best way to go. He recommends corralling the slaves and letting them know that the Tide is going to try and get them home.

Gaffer realises he is still reeling a little from there recent trip when he simply stands and watches as various figures enter and exit the room.
He takes a moment to calm himself properly before continuing.
To Danko he mentions, "I was thinking more about how we get back to the hut safely. I'm worried about foes along the way, but with this many people we will likely have to walk and just be careful."
As for the silver pool, "Is there a risk of the Majara reforming from the pool? My instinct is to use dispelling magic on it but I'm concerned about 'feeding' it too. Actually my instinct is to use fire, but I can't conjure any more of that today."

"I could bring a shadowy fireball down on it." Offered Yrul. Normally the bad guys got a chance to ignore some of her shadow weaving, but as the silvery pool wasn't really in any position to do that - she hoped - perhaps the fiery part would do some serious damage.
With regards to 'stuff', she was not going to be laden down. Moving fast was what a shadow dancer did and she couldn't do that whilst carrying a ton of stuff.

The one covered in blood shakes his head at Nira, "I am not physically hurt." He adds another thought in answer to Ramirez's second question, "Not anymore"
The pool of silver thins and starts to dissolve as it very slowly swirls and the stone beneath it begins to break up.
A tremor rolls through the palace, or rather radiates out from it, the epicenter, being the silver pool

He moves to the door they came in through, waving his hand urging the slaves to leave. "Stick with a Tide buddy. We'll help you get to safety."

Not physically hurt. Nira can only imagine the horrors the man has seen and been through. She can heal physical wounds, but his mental ones may never heal.
She tries to keep pace alongside the slaves as they leave. If any struggle to move or are hurt she wants to be close by to assist them.

The Tide head out the way they entered, ushering the former slaves with them, who are all more than cooperative in the escape. Once outside, Danko transforms into a dragon and takes to the air. What he immediately notices is that the massive flying Manta ray from earlier is nowhere to be seen. Danko must climb above the canopy to have a good option of flight. Once high enough, he see hundreds of birds from large macaws to small parrots, flying at full speed away from the palace in all directions.
Gaffer takes the point with Hmerrin and the druid quickly gets his bearings and feels strongly he can lead the party directly to the Hut, instead of the round about paths taken to get here, about 4 miles. Inside the 'gardens' is a cacophony of activity. All of it on the verge of panic and heading away from the party and the palace.
The party rushes along and passing by one of the fountains you spy a pair of Rakshasa, naked in a kneeling position and apparently praying to the statue at the center in the likeness of the Maharaja. Neither give you notice as you hurry past.
Another tremor rolls out from the palace and you now know definitively that the palace is going to be the epicenter of whatever is coming. The party rushes onward, there is little else to do.
Another Tremor rolls under you, even now nearly 1 mile from the palace, this tremor actually rolls the ground under your feet like a series of great waves. Acrobatics DC 15 or fall prone

It didn't take long for Hmerrin to realize nothing was going to try and surprise the group, and he stowed his axes to keep his hands free.
After a mile, a violent ground tremor struck. The fighter rode out the unexpected wave [Acrobatics 31], and then pulled up the nearest two ex-slaves who had fallen.
Waiting a beat to ensure no one is seriously hurt, Hmerrin turns and follows Gaffer.

The keeps their feet by and large. Hmerrin and Nira hoist some of the slaves who fell and Gaffer rolls up quickly to his feet as well. A glance behind you confirms the destruction of the once glorious palace, as the grand spire, nearly 800' high lurches to the left and topples in slow motion. The impact seems to have passed through the ground and a great molten geyser erupts from where it struck.
The ground beneath your running feet hums and vibrates as Des shouts encouragement to all to keep moving.
Another violent pitch of the ground rocks the area as an Oasis several hundred feet in front of you and to your right explodes in a great gout of molten rock. Fiery rock and trees are hurtled hundreds of yards into the air and a chasm begins to split and fall away, looking to cut directly across your path.

Gaffer feels a moment of panic but it is swiftly alleviated as Nira casts her spell. He is glad she still has spells left, as he didn't have any quick options past this. He doesn't take up one of the transformations, but will shift himself into an air elemental again, and make sure to help carry forward anyone who hasn't become an eagle.
He continues to guide them forward.

Ahead of the fleeing group a gorge opens up, earth falling way to a swirling lava field below. Danko is already airborne as a dragon and Gaffer transforms into an Air elemental and that leaves 20 on the ground and Nira's spell Animal Shapes transforms the rest into eagles as they gather around the Bloodwitch.
The new host of eagles take to the air and with Gaffer leading are able to make much fast time than on the rocking ground.
In the distance to the group's left, the party spies a herd of stampeding elephants with a great bull in the lead blasting through the trees like rice paper.
Another ground explosion sends fiery missiles soaring into the air and behind the party, back towards the palace. The very land itself seems to be warping in upon itself. The surrounding jungle looks as if it is being pulled inward to a center point, a ravenous black maw hovering in the air above where the palace was. A Sphere of Annihilation nearly 100' across!
Swiftly the eagles fly onward. The heat and humid air seem to push against you, as if it were trying to entrap you so that you might die with the land.
After several more minutes of flight, nearly half of the freed slaves, 7 in all, spiral in for a landing, tired and fatigued from the efforts of the last mile. The Hut lies maybe 200' from where they land. The others continue, heedless of the plight of those who cannot make it, and land at the door. Beginning to revery to their true forms.
Another Quake sends them from their feet.

Seven eagles break off early and spiral in for a landing short of the Hut.
"For Wardd's Sake!" Hmerrin growls.
The fighter swoops in and reverts to human form. "It's right there!" he cries angrily, waving an arm in the direction of the Hut. "Run or die!"
The man scoops up the two most tired looking ones and throws each over a shoulder [Use hero point for extra action]
"Move! Move! Move!"

Gaffer lands down as well. Picking up or allowing those who can to climb atop his enlarged frame before flying them to the door.
He feels a hint of satisfaction that he was right about the realm being consumed. For all of the ways in which the situation is dire, it's also a scene he doubts almost any others have experienced before, and he takes it all in.
At the hut, his priorities are to get the freed slaves inside first, then to make sure all of the party are inside, and then to close the door for good.

With exhaustion taking nearly half of the now freed prisoners, several of The Tide spring into action. Gaffer swings back and picks up 2 of them and heads back to the Hut. Hmerrin lands and reverts back, a process that takes an eternity with the destruction of the actual world occurring all around. Ramirez lands as well to assist Hmerrin in getting people to safety. Dez the eagle lets out a mighty screech. Nira returns the cry as an eagle herself Danko keeps watch hovering between the Hut and the downed eagles.
The landed slaves are all transforming and the land rocks and pitches about. A flaming boulder nearly the size of a house, slams into the ground just over 30' from Hmerrin and Ramirez with deafening impact.
Danko sees nothing but destruction in nearly every direction and the Black Sphere grows as it hungrily 'eats' the world about it. The pull now, even from several miles away, the airborne dragon can 'feel'. He is in no danger, yet.
Now back to human, the slaves stagger towards the hut, panting and completely off of breath. they fall, they rise, the fall and struggle to their feet again. 5 of them in all. One woman, in her fifties perhaps, is trying to help a younger man. The other 4 too occupied with their own hardship.
40' to the rear, where the group was moments ago, another great boulder lands and the area bursts into flame.
Gaffer arrives at the Hut, where now 10 slaves are trying to get the 'door' open The druid is able to command it open and they press through to escape.

"This is so not good," the fighter mutters as molten rocks pound the jungle around them.
Hmerrin has grasped the shirts of two of the slaves, one in each hand. The man half carries/half shove each of them as fast as he can run toward the hut.
If/when he gets there, he unceremoniously shoves the pair through the open doorway. Then he glances over his shoulder to see if anyone is left out there.

It might be years of dealing with Rakshasa, but Glthe thought comes to Gaffer that they don't know those they are rescuing, and the door is their only escape.
Rather than go back to help the others, he paused by the door, one elemental arm keeping it open, as he carefully watches those inside.
If another of the tide makes it in, he'll fly back out to help, focusing on the woman helping, and the man she is supporting, first.

"Eww, this is not very nice." Yrûl commented as she arrived at the door. "But you guys did really well. Yes, especially you, little guys. I mean, it's easy for Aggerz, what with him being a dragonfly and all, but little butterflies - wow, you sure flapped good." She took the time to compliment her ioun stones for their hard work in keeping up, even as she helped those clambering to enter the doorway. Shadow Dancers were good at keeping their footing especially in dim light and it seemed that the light was fading fast.

As the Black Sphere grows, the land continues to both explode and implode. Geysers of molten rocks and super-heated gases stream up and out as if trying to escape, but everything, everything is inexorably being pulled into the obsidian nothingness.
Chivvied and carried, the last of the so recently enslaved peoples are shoved into the Hut, with the heroes on their heels. Danko and Ramirez. Gaffer rushes back out to collect the last 2 ex-slaves and return. Desdichado with a load followed by Hmerrin who shoves his in and looks back. Yrul nimbly skips inside with supernatural grace. And it is only Nira and Hmerrin outside.
Above them, the reminder that this is a pocket-realm become obviously clear: clouds and stars are falling! The first star crashes like 10 meteor swarm spells, the destruction obscured by gray impenetrable mists. There is nothing more the heroes can do than go inside and shut the door.

When Nira shuts the door, the cacophony of the apocalypse cuts off so suddenly, it takes a moment for the former slaves and heroes to begin hearing their breathing, sobbing, and a growing wave of belief and relief that they have done it!
Looking about the Hut, everyone finds themselves in the Red Room, the foyer, with the bric-a-brac against the walls. Somehow, the room is bigger, easily big enough now for everyone to stand comfortably.

"The last place we entered from was Tide House in Dirt City." Desdichado tries to remember how they got it to work last time. They needed to find the right knick-knack and then fight all the animated objects in the hut. Will they need to do that again, he wonders?
He also asks the slaves where they are each from and how long they think they've been away so that the group can try to get them back to their respective places.

In the quiet, the heroes discuss the magical merits of the Hut. Is it currently on the Rakshasa plane and moments from utter destruction? Is it in the Sargrass, Dirt City, or in its own pocket dimension that merely accesses other locations. Frankly, the heroes don’t know.
It really falls to whether they feel it is safe enough to heal now or do they feel they need to attune immediately? Not only is it the heroes lives but all the former slaves that saved that is in the balance.
And even more, since Nira was the one who actually did the ritual, she is the ultimate decision to heal or attune.
The Fates prepare to cut….
