The Explorers
Strange Welcome

D.M.
Sunday July 18th, 1999 9:45:59 PM

As your racked ship floats into the strange harbor you all bask in the first sunshine you have seen in days. The small town comes into view. The walls of the city look old and well worn, but formidable. There is a bustle of activity all around as the townspeople scurry about doing whatever they do to make ends meet. Everyone seem overly happy for some reason, and the valley in which the town sits seems unusually lush and green. Wild flowers seem to be blooming everywhere, and your senses are assaulted with color and smell as your sad ship pulls alongside the dock and is moored tight to the posts.

A dock worker hails you and the crew. "'Allo there; Welcome to Heranmar! From where do you hail, and what cargo do you bring?"

Trace
Monday July 19th, 1999 6:09:59 AM

(Charisma check +1) Trace steps up and throws him the rope to tie off the boat, and when on the dock while gathering his equipment he says, "Hello," back to the dock hand. Trace calls for his dog, Luke, to follow and turns back to the hand and says, "I don't suppose you can tell me where a good inn is. As you can see we had a rough go out on the sea, and I would like to get cleaned up and a bite to eat." Trace looks back to see if the others want to join. (Trace is an Elven Ranger with his guard dog.)

Gniffle
Monday July 19th, 1999 6:35:59 AM

Still a bit seasick from the horrors of sea travel, Gniffle approaches the bold Elf. "Your dog, is he tame? He looks big enough for me to throw a saddle on and ride through the town." Chuckling at his own suggestion, he waits until the dockhand has got the craft close enough to the dock that he won't risk falling in.

Guardian Solomar
Monday July 19th, 1999 8:26:59 AM

Guardian steps onto the dock and takes a look at his surroundings. "Heranmar . . ." He takes a deep breath and whispers a prayer to Alemi. Then, Guardian speaks to the dock worker. "We've come from New Elenna. Our tired bodies are the only cargo, friend."

D.M.
Monday July 19th, 1999 8:01:59 PM

As the dock hand lowers a plank across to the boat he shouts, "New Elenna? Aawwwww no, I've never heard of it! Has the shuffle started already?" With that he darts off, leaving you all alone on the deck of the ship.

Alec Rackshie (Human Mage)
Monday July 19th, 1999 8:15:59 PM

Alec turns to his travelling companions. "That was quite the three hour cruise. I'll be glad to set my feet on dry land again." Gesturing to the fleeing dockhand, he asks, "Who in the Wold has not heard of New Elenna, anyway? We should go into town and find out just where we are."

Gniffle
Monday July 19th, 1999 9:02:59 PM

A slightly disturbed look crosses Gniffle's face. "Yes, we should discover where we are as soon as possible. I don't like not knowing where in the Wold I am. What was that that simpleton said about the Shuffle? Be wary my friends, this place has the stink of fear about it." With that he leaps to the dock, pausing only long enough for the others to follow, and sets off in the direction the dockhand scurried off in.

Guardian Solomar  d20=15
Monday July 19th, 1999 11:47:59 PM

Guardian leaps out of the boat to chase after the dock worker. As he starts running after the man, Guardian begins to feel dizzy. He falls on the dock. Looking up at the sky, Guardian chuckles to himself. "I guess this is Alemi's way of telling me to rest first."

Lithasarin
Tuesday July 20th, 1999 1:44:59 AM

Standing and stretching his legs, the grey-cloaked elf chuckles to himself in a half wheezing manner. "Of course there are people who have never heard of New Elenna; it might be assumed if there is we who know not the name of the city whose docks we stand in. I might suggest not making it too obvious that we are from a place these people are not familiar with, or they might react as did our friend the dock worker."

Trace and his dog Luke
Tuesday July 20th, 1999 4:49:59 AM

Why don't we make ourselves less noticeable and find another way into town? If that guy is going to go and get someone let's not take the same way in, as he is surely going to come back the same way. Let's just walk into town like we already own the town, without drawing attention. As far as we know, the whole town hates newcomers. (Trace readies his equipment and wepons in case of an emergency).

Korvan (Human Fighter)
Tuesday July 20th, 1999 5:15:59 AM

I agree with Trace and Lithasarin; I think we should try not to draw attention to ourselves. I wouldn't want to cause any unnecessary commotion. (I gather my gear and hop off the boat onto the dock.)

Neko
Tuesday July 20th, 1999 5:30:59 AM

Neko shifts his cloak and nods. "So, we walk into the town, act like we know what we're doing, and all is well." He adjusts his pack on his shoulder. He looks at Solomar. "I hope that in our roaming through the town, we stumble across an inn. I think some of us could use some rest."

D.M. (Anthony)
Tuesday July 20th, 1999 8:40:59 PM

The townspeople at the docks have begun to turn and stare as the dock worker pushes his way up the street, mumbling about the shuffle and New Elenna. The town's attention attention is now entirely on you.

Alec Rackshie (Human Mage)
Tuesday July 20th, 1999 9:00:59 PM

Alec casts his Shield spell. He then turns to Lithasarin and Trace. "So much for a quiet entrance. Maybe these people have been attacked by warring neighbors, and think we have come to do battle. We have to let them know that we mean no harm."

Guardian Solomar
Tuesday July 20th, 1999 11:26:59 PM

Guardian smiles at the townspeople, trying to hide his apprehension. On a whisper, he says to Gniffle, "Maybe we should've stayed on the boat."

Sir Thomas
Wednesday July 21st, 1999 12:02:59 AM

After spending the last few minutes throwing up over the other side of the boat, Sir Thomas manages to make his way onto the dock. He heard some of the conversation between throws, and so knows the situation without much detail. "I see no reason that they should mean us any harm; we have done nothing to them. Let's just show them that we are friendly; maybe they'll warm to us."

Fully hoping that the townsmen would be friendly to strangers, Sir Thomas (wearing armor, carrying his backpack in the same arm that he wears his shield at the "ready", and keeping his wits sharp for signs of hostility) walks toward the crowd, placing himself between his fellow adventurers and those that he addresses. (reaction adjustment +7) "Hello there. We have just completed a very long journey and would kindly request directions to one of your local inns. We are in need of rest and good company."

Gniffle
Wednesday July 21st, 1999 2:04:59 AM

Shaking his head at the warrior's straight-forwardness, he turns to Guardian and says in a whisper, "So much for us being inconspicuous. I guess that all people are friendly where old metalchest comes from." He indicates the bold warrior. "Watch your back; simple folk are the most likely to turn on you as rumors begin to fly." Grimacing, he keeps his right hand near the haft of his handaxe while attempting to look inconspicuous.

Korvan (Human Fighter)
Wednesday July 21st, 1999 2:51:59 AM

Korvan whispers to the group, "Well, there went the idea of drawing little attention to ourselves. I just hope the rest of the crowd doesn't react the way the dockhand did."

Trace and his dog Luke
Wednesday July 21st, 1999 6:20:59 AM

Trace just drops his chin to his chest, watching the paladin march up front. But as knowing him better than the townspeople, Trace stands with the warrior to let him know that he is with him. He has his shield on his arm, and is ready at the moment's notice to draw his sword.

Turning back to the rest of the group, he says, "The good thing is that my dog Luke isn't barking or growling yet, and he has a good sense of people."

DM (S)
Wednesday July 21st, 1999 8:12:59 AM

The townspeople start to mutter to each other and point at the newcomers. Trace and Sir Thomas can overhear them saying something about more strangers coming into town. They don't look happy to see you, but make no move to stop you from entering the town.

Neko
Wednesday July 21st, 1999 10:45:59 AM

He sighs and takes a step forward to Trace's and Sir Thomas' side. He mumbles a prayer under his breath to Jancassis. He leans to Trace and says, "Maybe we should just watch our back and make our way through them. Standing here waiting for them to make a move doesn't seem to be working."

D.M. (A)
Wednesday July 21st, 1999 7:54:59 PM

It is interesting, as you are able to think back over the past few minutes. The townspeople did not start looking upset until the party went into a defensive posture; now they seem quite defensive.

Gniffle
Wednesday July 21st, 1999 9:15:59 PM

Sighing at his own stupidity, the little gnome releases his hold on the haft of his weapon. He speaks loudly to the other., "It is obvious that these people mean us no harm."

Singling out one of the people in the front of the crowd, he says, "You sir, I apologize for our rudeness. Surely you must realize that not all ports are friendly ports. It is apparent that this is a friendly port and so we have nothing to fear from you honest folk. My name is Gniffle."

Trace and his dog Luke
Wednesday July 21st, 1999 9:32:59 PM

Trace, taking the advice given, steps past Sir Thomas, making his way through the crowd headed to the town. Smiling a gentle smile and nodding every so often, he taps the back of his leg for Luke to follow. Trace thinks to himself, Like I said, nice and easy like we own the town.

Guardian Solomar
Wednesday July 21st, 1999 10:13:59 PM

Guardian, having kept his eye on the dock worker, walks faster to catch up with the man. "Sir," says Guardian, "it's considered impolite to walk away from a conversation."

Alec Rackshie
Wednesday July 21st, 1999 10:42:59 PM

Alec advances with his party down the dock, doing the best he can not to look menacing. After all, he has only a dagger for weapon, and the shield is invisible.

Sir Thomas
Wednesday July 21st, 1999 11:33:59 PM

Sir Thomas sighs with only a little discouragement at not getting a reply to his polite request for directions to a nearby inn. Then, thinking to himself about the reaction of his friends, he smiles broadly and mutters something about, "See, most people are nice if you are nice first." He then continues forward with the group as they proceed toward town and through the crowd.

As he passes through the crowd (still a little wobbly as he hasn't gotten his "land legs" back yet), he is curious about these people. "You, sir, I am Sir Thomas Hurley, and I would like to buy you a drink at the local inn if you would simply take us there. What say you, my good friend?" He smiles and even chuckles a little to let the man know he means no harm as he extends his hand in greeting, meaning to shake hands with the man.

Korvan (Human Fighter)
Thursday July 22nd, 1999 1:48:59 AM

Korvan follows Sir Thomas through the crowd, trying not to look threating in anyway. When Sir Thomas asks for directions, Korvan stands behind Sir Thomas and waits to see if the man will give us directions to the inn.

DM (S)
Thursday July 22nd, 1999 2:17:59 AM

Solomar walks after the deck hand, while everyone else starts to make their way into town. Solomar catches up with the deck hand, but all the man will say is that there are too many strangers in town.

The man that Sir Thomas spoke to responds, "Just walk down the road here; you can't miss it. But I dont want anything from you. Just leave us alone." He walks off into the crowd.

Gniffle
Thursday July 22nd, 1999 2:56:59 AM

"Not exactly the response I was hoping for, but thank you anyway." Getting a firm grip on his pack, he follows the group towards the location of the inn.

Trace and his dog Luke
Thursday July 22nd, 1999 5:12:59 AM

Trace turns to Sir Thomas and says, "I have a feeling that there are strangers already here. And by the way they are acting, they are not friendly."

Sir Thomas
Thursday July 22nd, 1999 7:25:59 AM

"Thank you very much, kind sir," Sir Thomas replies into the crowd, in the direction the man had gone.

Sir Thomas then turns to Trace. "I'm getting that sinking feeling, too." Then he puts his arm around his friend and points in the direction they need to go to get to the inn, as if prompting his friend to walk with him and begins walking to the inn. "I say, let's go get some dinner and some rooms, maybe ask some questions at the inn, and hopefully keep from rubbing anyone the wrong way. Perhaps we can even find out exactly where we are." Sir Thomas smiles knowing that he just said what everyone else was thinking, and breaks from Trace to walk next to him.

Neko
Thursday July 22nd, 1999 11:34:59 AM

Neko steps quickly in front of the dockhand. "Excuse me, sir. I couldn't help but notice that you're preparing for the shuffle. I was wondering how my friends and I should prepare." Neko folds his arms across his chest, waiting for the dockhand's response.

Guardian Solomar
Thursday July 22nd, 1999 12:01:59 PM

Guardian hangs his head, almost hurt by the comments from the dock worker. "I am sorry we came and spoiled your shores, friend. In the future, when the gods take us back to our home, I will try earnestly to forget this reception."

Guardian glances back at Sir Thomas, having heard the bellowing of his suggestions, and shakes his head. "These other strangers, I wonder where they came from. And if they too behaved like we are."

DM (S)
Thursday July 22nd, 1999 4:49:59 PM

The dock worker looks at Neko, dumbfounded. "You know, the shuffle of people from our neighbor towns that always come down this way around this time, trading their goods. What, did you think it was a dance or something? HAHAHAHAHA! This New Elenia place must be filled with some really simple people." The harbormaster calls to him, so he leaves Neko standing there.

D.M. (A)
Thursday July 22nd, 1999 7:51:59 PM

When you mention the shuffle again, some of the people around you make signs to ward off evil, while others shake their heads and smile like you are all children. Then a thunderclap is heard in the distance, and all heads turn skyward searching the heavens for something. The smiles stop, and the people go quiet as they search. Eventually, not finding what they were looking, for the people go back to their jovial day.

Sir Thomas
Thursday July 22nd, 1999 8:12:59 PM

I walk quietly the rest of the way to the inn, taking time to thank Alemi for watching over us at sea and seeing that we had a safe journey.

Alec Rackshie
Friday July 23rd, 1999 1:15:59 AM

This is beginning to be even more of an adventure than Alec had even hoped for. When he left Plateau City in search of adventure, he had only had in mind a simple quest for gold, such as Dwarf Island. He never imagined he would go to ends of the Wold, where his home would not even be recognized.

Turning to his companions, he says, "We should decide what to do from here on. Do we want to stay here and explore, or try to find passage back to our home? Perhaps we should see the mayor to declare our business, and get some answers. The local inn is only likely to provide gossip and half truths."

Korvan (Human Fighter)
Friday July 23rd, 1999 4:11:59 AM

"I think we should go to the inn for now and get some rest. And who knows? Maybe we might get more than half truths and rumors, and if that's all we get, then we can go to the mayor and talk to him."

Trace and his dog Luke
Friday July 23rd, 1999 5:37:59 AM

"I agree; let's go to the inn first and get some rest and decent food in my stomach. I don't want to see another fish for a good while." Trace and his dog make their way into town behind Sir Thomas.

Neko
Friday July 23rd, 1999 7:49:59 AM

Neko shakes his head and heads in the direction of the inn. He looks over his shoulder at Guardian Solomar. "Wanna check out the inn?"

DM (S)
Saturday July 24th, 1999 7:30:59 AM

As the party approaches the inn, they spy the dock worker and some of his co-workers entering the inn. Above the inn is a picture of a man walking along a path, whistling a tune.

Overhead, dark clouds are begining to gather together. It looks like a big storm is about to hit. Everyone else on the streets begins to disperse and head for their homes.

Gniffle
Saturday July 24th, 1999 10:23:59 AM

With a wary eye upon the darkening skies, Gniffle follows along towards the inn. Before reaching the doors of the inn, he turns towards the party. "That dockworker may have a good heart, but like I said before, 'Rumors fly fast and furious among the common folk'. Let us be on our guard as we go about our business. Maybe I am paranoid, but I have a bad feeling about some elements of this villiage." Making the sign of Wardd, he waits for the party to enter the inn then follows behind quietly.

Neko
Sunday July 25th, 1999 8:18:59 AM

Neko nods in agreement as he passes Gniffle. He steps into the lobby of the inn, and looks around.

Guardian Solomar
Sunday July 25th, 1999 8:22:59 AM

Guardian steps into the inn. He sighs, somewhat tired, himself.

Alec
Sunday July 25th, 1999 6:15:59 PM

Alec walks into the inn and orders himself a meal, as well as a large ale.

D.M. (A)
Sunday July 25th, 1999 9:51:59 PM

The moment the party steps into the inn, thunder crashes outside, and it begins to rain. The party hears sad and angry mumbles.

Mumbles
Sunday July 25th, 1999 9:53:59 PM

". . . sun season . . . over . . ."

"Dark strangers bring dark storms."

"Short season this year."

"Didn't have time to plant all my fields . . ."

"Now we'll go hungry half the winter again . . ."

Sir Thomas
Sunday July 25th, 1999 10:49:59 PM

Sir Thomas walks up to the owner, receptionist, bartender, or barmaid (whoever is around, listed in order of preference). "Hello, it's not a very nice night out." He chuckles a little. "I am Sir Thomas, and you are?" He waits for answer. "It is good to meet you (his or her name). What is the name of this place; it is a very nice inn." Again, he waits for an answer. "That's a good name, and rivals the quality I see. I was wondering if you could help me. I need a room, and am wondering if you had any vacancies, and if so what the price of a room might be? I was also curious about having dinner if you are still serving." He listens to the answers offered, which are hopefully a little more warm than the previous encounter.

Korvan (Human Fighter)
Monday July 26th, 1999 3:00:59 AM

"Wow, we made it just in time! I hope the weather is not like this when we head back out." He heads towards Sir Thomas to see if there are any vacancies in the inn, and to see if they are still serving dinner.

Neko
Monday July 26th, 1999 5:43:59 AM

Neko goes to a window and looks out: sheets of rain pelting the streets. He sets his bag down and glances about the room, hearing the various mumbles coming for the occupants. He asks himself questions: why a town of people are forced to go half a winter without food, and how they survive. And he can't help but catch the comment about strangers bringing bad weather. He looks to the other members of the group, waiting for word on rooms.

Trace and his dog Luke
Monday July 26th, 1999 6:29:59 AM

Trace walks up next to Sir Thomas and looks to the innkeeper. "I would like a room and some food, also. And perhaps a nice bottle of wine, too." Trace reaches in his money pouch to pay for the room and food.

Trace leans on the bar with his elbow and scans the room to see if anyone is watching intently on what they are doing. All the while, he wears a smile.

Gniffle
Monday July 26th, 1999 7:15:59 AM

As the group settles in within the common room and begins asking questions of the patrons, the small gnome finds a quiet area from which to view his surroundings. He searches the faces of those within the inn, and notes all possible exits from the building.

D.M. (A)
Monday July 26th, 1999 8:20:59 PM

There is one exit out of the Inn: the front door. The bartender says that Max owns the bar, and he's not here. They bed down travellers in the common room at night, and it's 1 gold a night, or 3 if you want a bed roll and blanket.

The rain continues to poor harder. The people begin to look depressed and sullen.

Guardian Solomar  d20=17
Tuesday July 27th, 1999 4:41:59 AM

Finding a corner to himself, Guardian slumps to the ground and mumble, "Alemi did not bring us here to hail in the rain season." He looks around for someone who might be a local cleric, (failed check) but he can't tell a bard from a king, the way these people dress.

He looks for Neko, and no matter if he's within earshot or not, he says, "Someone got here before we did and ruined our welcome. I say we find THOSE people. You in, Neko?" Guardian looks at Gniffle. "What about you?"

Trace and his dog Luke
Tuesday July 27th, 1999 6:14:59 AM

Trace hands over one gold piece. He whispers into Sir Thomas' ear, "We need to have someone on watch; that way, none of these fine, upset people walk up and slit our throats. My dog is a guard, but even better that we have a pair of eyes that can protect everyone."

Not getting any type of food from the barkeep, Trace makes his way over to a corner and pulls out some rations for him and his dog.

Gniffle
Tuesday July 27th, 1999 8:20:59 AM

Nodding towards Guardian and Neko, Gniffle makes his way through the inn to one of the tables with a grumbling farmer. "Hello. No, down here. That's better. My name is Gniffle. I couldn't help but hear about your bad season and other woes. What has happened here? Is there anything that I might be able to help with? Maybe a drink might show my good will."

Smiling, he calls for the patron. "Please give this man another round on me."

Turning back to the farmer, he says, "There now, that's much better, isn't it?"

Neko
Tuesday July 27th, 1999 9:09:59 AM

Neko goes to Solomar's corner. "I don't know if the problem with this town is previous visitors, or not. But something does seem to be going on. And if finding out is what you want to do, I'd be interested." He looks around the room. "But where do we start? This place isn't exactly full of people in any particular hurry to talk to us."

Sir Thomas
Tuesday July 27th, 1999 11:36:59 AM

"Thank you kindly for your help, sir. I hope that we will not be too much of a bother." Sir Thomas pays him one gold piece to be able to stay the night.

He then walks to Trace. "I agree about the watch. Let's get together as a group and figure things out." On the way over, he quietly, but loudly enough to be heard by Trace, adds, "Peronally, I think watch in groups of two will not only help keep us awake, but give us a chance to get to know one another better. Also, I think Gniffle has the right idea."

He then walks to where Guardian and Neko sit. "Guardian, Neko, Trace has a good idea about setting up a watch. I'll go first, since I need to clean my armor and weapons and get things back into proper condition, but that will come later. I don't mean to be rude, and I know you have good intentions Guardian, but maybe being loud and obnoxious is not the way to show these people that we are not to blame. Let's all follow Gniffle's lead and go talk to someone to try to figure out what we can. Be patient and EXTRA polite and courteous with these people. Obviously, they don't want us here, so they will all be rude at first, but maybe they have a good reason for this reaction to strangers. If you hit a dead end go a different direction. DON'T get discouraged or angry; surely someone will tell us something. Oh, and generosity is never a bad way to make friends. What do you guys think?"

Farmer
Tuesday July 27th, 1999 7:54:59 PM

The farmer accepts Gniffle's drink, and begins to talk. "The sun season has ended early. You see, we only get about two weeks of sunshine a year here, and . . ." With that he stops talking, as he is being glared at by four dockworkers sitting in the corner.

Alec
Tuesday July 27th, 1999 9:43:59 PM

Alec sits with Guardian, Neko and Sir Thomas. "They don't seem very friendly to strangers in these parts. I'm with you; I think we should keep some sort of watch here, at least for tonight. In the morning we definately should go to the mayor to formally introduce ourselves and state our mission, just so that there is no misunderstanding. Maybe we can get some information about the short growing season out of him too; I suspect some evil magic at work here."

Sitting down he tastes his ale, and frowns. "They may need some help with their brewing skills as well."

Neko
Tuesday July 27th, 1999 9:57:59 PM

Neko listens to the things that are being said by the other people in his party. "Well, going to the Mayor might be a good idea, but what exactly are we going to tell him our 'mission' is? If this town doesn't like stangers poking their noses around, I don't think the Mayor is going to give us the friendliest welcome. As far as talking to people in the town, the dockhands would probably be best bet. They would know all of the comings and goings of this town."

Guardian Solomar
Wednesday July 28th, 1999 1:39:59 AM

Guardian Solomar smiles politely at Sir Thomas. "You're suggestion is a good one. I'll stand watch outside in a moment." He gets up from his corner, and walks to where Gniffle is talking to the farmer.

Gniffle
Wednesday July 28th, 1999 2:37:59 AM

Giving a hard eye to the dockworkers, Gniffle turns back to the farmer. "Good sir, I understand your reluctance to talk, and wouldn't presume to have you do anything that could be construed by your friends over there as wrong. Perhaps you can give me some general information about this area, if that would not make them uncomfortable."

Turning a winning smile upon the farmer, Gniffle orders an ale for himself.

Sir Thomas
Wednesday July 28th, 1999 3:08:59 AM

"Good suggestion about the dock workers, but I have a feeling that they are the least friendly. Who wants to give it a go with me?"

Sir Thomas waits a second, possibly for a reply from a friend, and goes to a table of dockworkers. "Hello!" He pulls up a seat and sets his backpack next to the leg of his chair. "May I offer a friendly drink to any of you? I am Sir Thomas, by the way, and I just thought I could make a friend or two tonight since I won't be in town long."

Farmer
Wednesday July 28th, 1999 8:34:59 PM

"Wouldn't mess with that bunch if I were you; they're a bunch of mean drunks. They said that you all come from someplace new, which means the Shuffle has started. Them types are always the worst hit with shipping disrupted. You best tell your friend to back off, 'less he wants to eat his own teeth for dinner."

D.M. (A)
Wednesday July 28th, 1999 8:35:59 PM

As Sir Thomas pulls a chair up, the dockworkers go silent and stare at him with hostile intent in their faces and eyes.

Trace
Wednesday July 28th, 1999 8:54:59 PM

Watching Sir Thomas walk into an unfriendly situation, Trace draws a dagger out, dragging it on the sheath so as to make noise as it's drawn, to let the dockworkers know that it is not just Sir Thomas by himself. Keeping an eye on the workers, he starts to clean out from under his fingernails, leaning with his back against the far wall.

DM (S)
Wednesday July 28th, 1999 10:39:59 PM

A young-looking blonde woman, who has been lounging in a dark corner of the bar, walks over to Gniffle. "You better go and watch over your friend. He doesn't seem to know how things work over here." Gniffle can see that she is dressed in hunting leathers, with a scimitar strapped to her back. "I dont want any bloodshed in here."

One of the dockworkers, who looks a little bigger than the others, stands up, glaring at Sir Thomas first, then his gaze falls on the others. "Get away from me! I don't want to talk to your kind."

Guardian Solomar
Thursday July 29th, 1999 12:58:59 AM

Upon seeing the dock workers' reactions to Sir Thomas, he looks at the paladin. "Tom, better leave them alone."

Then he addresses the young woman. "Forgive our boy, ma'am. We've been at sea for a while now, and you're the first faces we've seen in months. We're all just a little giddy. Ma'am, is there a temple close by?"

Sir Thomas
Thursday July 29th, 1999 3:02:59 AM

When the man stands blubbering out his threat, Sir Thomas stands quickly and throws his hands up in an I-didn't-do-it, harmless sort of way, saying, "I'm sorry, big guy; I didn't intend to step on any toes, I just thought that since you guys helped dock our boat that I have been on for so long, I would thank you properly with a drink. Apparently you don't want one. That's all you had to say. I'll move on."

He grabs his bag and backs away with an apologetic look. "Maybe I'll just go with Guardian to a temple. I can't possibly get in trouble there," he says to himself as he walks toward Guardian.

"Would you care to find a temple with me Guardian? I wonder if they worshop Alemi around here." He speaks up. "Excuse me, barkeep, could you direct me to a temple of Alemi, please?"

Lithasarin
Thursday July 29th, 1999 3:06:59 AM

The youthful elf pulls his hood from his head, and pushes his light hair back, leaving traces of rainwater in his hands from having walked in as the rain began. He looks to the two knights 'conversing' with the dockworkers, and to Trace against the wall. His eyes show intense interest in the situation, but little in the way of worry. He walks to the bar and sits, pulling his loose cloak around him, and watching the life in the inn.

Alec
Thursday July 29th, 1999 4:18:59 AM

Alec speaks to Sir Thomas and the Guardian. "Finding a temple sounds like a good idea. A local cleric would be a more friendly source of information than we seem to have met here. Perhaps they could direct us to some maps of the local area and books of local lore. I, myself, am well versed in navigation, as well as reading and writing. Maybe I could take time at a temple to pour over my spell book, or perhaps learn a new spell."

Neko
Thursday July 29th, 1999 9:14:59 AM

Neko steps to Guardian and whispers, "Don't you find it odd how this rain has affected the people around us?" He looks, noting the saddened faces. "These people -- there's soemthing wrong with them." He chuckles. "And I don't think we're going to find out by asking the dockhands, but --" He looks at the woman that talked to Gniffle. "What about her?"

Gniffle
Friday July 30th, 1999 12:12:59 AM

Turning towards the woman in leathers, he says, "Thank you for your sage advice. You have perhaps spared my friend a night of pain and misery. Your help was much appreciated. You seem slightly out of place here amongst the locals. My name is Gniffle. If you wouldn't mind, perhaps I may buy you a drink, and we could talk a bit?"

DM (S)
Friday July 30th, 1999 1:37:59 AM

The woman turns to Gniffle. "I don't drink, but thanks anyway. You are in a strange land, my friend. I have heard of your land, this New Elenna. And iIwill tell you this: no one else here has ever heard of it. If I were you, I wouldn't tell anyone else where you are from. People from these parts don't trust anyone from somewhere they haven't heard of.

"They also don't take kindly to anyone who isn't human." She pulls back her hair and reveales slightly pointed ears. "It's not like that everywhere, but in these rural towns, there is a lot of mistrust."

She turns to Solomar. "There isn't a temple of any kind in this town. The townspeople rely more on local healers and travelling priests more than anything. There are not many big cities in this part of the Wold." She looks at the party's clerics' dress and symbols. "Religon is practiced, but it is much more informal than you are probably used to."

As he is talking to the strange woman, Guardian Solomar notices something vaguely familiar hanging from her neck. (Make a perception check, roll under you Int or Wis.)

The bartender turns to Sir Thomas. "There isn't any temple in town. What do you want to drink?"

The dockworker that talked to Sir Thomas sits back down with his friends. They huddle a little closer together and resume their whispering.

The storm outside seems to be getting rougher, with claps of thunder being heard every other minute.

Guardian Solomar  d20=2
Friday July 30th, 1999 4:26:59 AM

(perception check successful) "Are you a priestess?" Guardian looks at the woman, recognizing the symbol she wears.

Sir Thomas
Friday July 30th, 1999 5:22:59 AM

"OH! . . . No temple?" He blurts, rather dumbfounded. Sir Thomas takes a minute to consider his options then says, "I would simply like some warm dinner at this point. Would you happen to have any of that, sir? What about somewhere that I could clean up a little, like a bath house, a bathing spring, or something of that matter that I could visit after it stops raining? By the way, I would like to apologize to you for my oafish behavior. I really meant nothing by it."

Neko
Friday July 30th, 1999 11:18:59 AM

He walks to the counter and pulls out a gold piece. "I don't know about my friends, but I won't be going out in this weather." He sets the gold piece down. "I'd like a room."

Trace
Friday July 30th, 1999 8:36:59 PM

Seeing the woman in leather reveal her ears, Trace decides to walk over and pay a visit. "Hello, my name is Trace. As you probably know, we are not familiar with this land, but seeing that you are close to my race, I was hoping you could give me and my friend here some answers about this place. Like what is it with the rain, and everyone's attitude? And why is there, as you say, a mistrust with anyone that is not human?"

DM (S)
Saturday July 31st, 1999 1:05:59 AM

Solomar notices that the symbol that the woman is wearing it the symbol of the goddess Mittiri. "No, I'm not," she replies. "My mentor gave this to me." She turns to Trace. "That's just the way it's always been. As for the rain, it's always raining at this time of the month. Nothing unusual about that."

The innkeeper looks at Sir Thomas. "We have stew tonight. Go sit down and the serving wench will bring you some shortly." Then he turns to Neko. "Do you want a private room, or a common room?"

Gniffle
Saturday July 31st, 1999 1:36:59 AM

Reacting to the womans words with a slightly puzzled expression he says, "Pardon my abrupt manner but if these lands are unhospitable to those not of humankind what then, praytell, are you doing hereabouts. I hope i have not impinged upon your personal life but your words make me curious. You also seem to know a bit about the surrounding area. Would you impart some of your knowledge to us? The more we know of this land the better off we are. As our earlier behavior clearly showed these simple folk we have no clue about this lands or its environs." As the little gnome finishes his questions he glances about the room to see if any more interest is being paid to himself and his fellow travellers. After having done so his eyes again rest, somewhat apprehensive, upon the woman awaiting her reply.

Neko
Saturday July 31st, 1999 11:22:59 AM

Neko points to the others in his party..."If I can get a common room for those men alone...then I'll take a common room. If not...private will do nicely."

Alec
Saturday July 31st, 1999 8:12:59 PM

Alec removes himself to a quiet corner of the room and takes his travelling spell book out of his backpack, which he then begins to study intently. (memorizing a detect magic spell)

DM (S)
Sunday August 1st, 1999 1:05:59 AM

the young woman looks at Gniffle "I was born here, so they know me. They are generally good people. Its just that there are a lot of isolated towns, and they are weary of any strangers. If those strangers dont look like them, that just adds to their mistrust. To answer your other question, I have traveled all over the Wold, so just ask me what you want to know, and ill try to tell you what you want to know."

DM (S)

the innkeeper replies to Neko's questions "Sure, that is no problem."

Neko
Sunday August 1st, 1999 10:39:59 AM

Neko nods, "Then I'd like a common room for my friends and myself." He slides the gold coin across the counter...

Guardian Solomar
Sunday August 1st, 1999 7:04:59 PM

"All over the wold?" I say to the elven woman. "How about a place called New Elenna, have you been there?"

Gniffle
Sunday August 1st, 1999 11:25:59 PM

Pondering the womans words Gniffle glances at those residents who remain. Returning to the woman he says, "As you no doubt already know we are not from this area. Your assistance in gaining information would be invaluable to our effort. I was hoping to obtain a local map of the surrounding areas. Do you have a map of the like i seek? if not where could we procure one."

Sir Thomas
Monday August 2nd, 1999 12:35:59 AM

"Thank you sir." I go sit at the table with my friends and take some water from my backpack and begin to drink sparingly until my stew comes. I say nothing for now convinced to stay out of trouble.

Alec  d100=10
Monday August 2nd, 1999 4:58:59 AM

Alec puts his spell book away in his backpack and walks outside into the rain. He searches the skies, eyeing the storm with a keen eye. He then finds a pool of the newly fallen rain and examines it thoughtfully. (He is casting the detect magic spell on the rainwater in the pool, and falling from the sky. Passed check for magic type as well, if the rain is of magic origin.)

DM (S)
Monday August 2nd, 1999 7:36:59 AM

Alec's spell come up with nothing. The rain appears to be normal rain. The innkeeper takes the gold coin "Your are in room #2. Here is your key."

DM (S)
Monday August 2nd, 1999 7:40:59 AM

she turns to Solomar. "No, i have never been there. But i have heard of it." turns to Gniffle "No, i dont have a map. In these parts, stuff like that is hard to come by. People mostly hire out scouts or guides."

Neko
Monday August 2nd, 1999 8:22:59 AM

He nods, "Thank you." Neko passes and leans to Solomar. "Tell the rest of the group that if they want a place to sleep...I've got room #2. It's a common room." Neko goes up the stairs to his room. He walks down the hall...looking from door to door until he finds #2...he unlocks it...and opens the door...

Lithasarin
Monday August 2nd, 1999 9:17:59 AM

The elf follows Neko up to room #2. "So this is our room is it? Mind if I come inside?" He stands in the doorway.

Guardian Solomar
Monday August 2nd, 1999 9:24:59 PM

Hearing Neko's message, I turn to our table and say (quietly), "Neko's gotten a room for everyone. It's #2. Tom and I stand watch for now, so if you want rest, go now." I turn back to the elven woman. "Are you a scout or a guide. If so, can you take us to someplace friendlier than this?" I look over my shoulder at the dock workers, then I slightly shake my head. "I don't know how much longer we should stay."

Gniffle
Monday August 2nd, 1999 9:57:59 PM

Nodding at guardian, "Yes there must be a friendlier place than this. If you would be our guide i am sure we could pay you. what would you charge for your services if you were interested?"

Trace
Wednesday August 4th, 1999 6:22:59 AM

Trace gathers his things and says goodnight to the female elf. He then makes his way upstairs to room #2 along with his dog Luke. Trace puts down his pack and lies with his head on it like a pillow. His dog luke curls up next to him and lays down.

Neko
Wednesday August 4th, 1999 8:30:59 AM

He steps into the room and looks around. He sighs throwing his bag down. He takes out his blanket and kneels on it...whispering a prayer...

Sir Thomas
Wednesday August 4th, 1999 6:40:59 PM

I wait for my stew to come, then pay the girl and eat listening interestedly to what is going on with this stranger. I look her over as I eat noting anything interesting about her attire. (What is different from the locals, does she look like a warrior/thief/etc.) I continue to emit jovial vibes dispite my personal unhappiness about the way things have gone in this town thus far.

Alec
Wednesday August 4th, 1999 10:23:59 PM

Alec walks back into the Inn, soaked in rain. He sits down at the table by Gniffle and the Guardian, "I think I've had enough for one day," wiping the water from his face with the sleeve of his robe,"Where were we going to sleep tonight?"

Guardian Solomar  d20=5
Wednesday August 4th, 1999 10:24:00 PM

While I wait for the elven lady to respond, I take a quick look around for other strangers like us (passed int/wis check).

DM(s)
Thursday August 5th, 1999 1:04:59 AM

the woman looks at Solomar. "I guess you can say im a guide. Ive been all over this continent. As far as a "friendly" place, i would guess Hook city is where you want to go. But its a very long journey from here, and we have to pass through some very unfriendly territory. I can take you there, but my price will be named when we get there. Think it over, but i can promise you will not find anyone else that knows the ways of the land like I do."

DM(s)
Thursday August 5th, 1999 1:06:59 AM

Solomar looks around, but doesnt notice any more strangers. He does see the dockworkers still staring at the companions, though

Guardian Solomar
Thursday August 5th, 1999 7:01:59 PM

I smile at the elven woman. "You're offer is very generous. I can't speak for the whole group, but I'll ask them if they want you to take us to Hook City." Feeling the stares of the dockworkers, I turn my back to them. I whisper, "Personally, I can't wait to leave. And I'm sure our new 'friends' feel the same way. Will you wait while I discuss this with my (not sure how to describe the group yet) traveling companions?"

Lithasarin
Thursday August 5th, 1999 10:03:59 PM

In room #2 the cloaked elf sits against a wall, his hood pulled back over his face but strands of very light colored hair still fall out onto the damp grey cloth. Quietly measuring out his supply of what appears to be yellow sand, chucklong to himself occasionally for no obvious reason.

Sir Thomas
Friday August 6th, 1999 1:05:59 AM

After swallowing another bite of stew I look up from my bowl and say "I would like to go to Hook City, especially if it means a more friendly atmosphere. I'm sorry maam, I missed your name and I've impolitely failed to give mine. I am sir Thomas and I hope you are not offended."

Holly(DM S)
Saturday August 7th, 1999 6:27:59 AM

"My name is Holly. Its not so bad here, you just got on their bad side. But it is probably best that you leave soon. With all the strangers in town, everyone is on edge."

Neko
Saturday August 7th, 1999 10:13:59 PM

After saying his prayers Neko leaves the room and heads back to Solomar and Gniffle. "Alright...so what are we going to do? Do we stay here tonight or does someone else have another idea." He looks up seeing Holly, he nods a greeting.

Sir Thomas
Sunday August 8th, 1999 3:30:59 AM

"I certainly can't speak for anyone else, but I am in favor of staying here tonight in the room upstairs." I lower my voice and lean into the table, "I think we should also keep a watch if we do that as well." Then returning my voice to normal and leaning back into my chair, "Then I think we should leave town as soon as the sun comes up. We can figure the rest out on the road."

Alec
Sunday August 8th, 1999 8:00:59 PM

"I'm with Sir Thomas, I think we all could use a rest before making any long term plans."

Gniffle
Sunday August 8th, 1999 10:15:59 PM

Nodding at Holly's words he turns towards Guardian. "I am in agreement with you. If the rest agree I would, too, like to have you be our guide Holly. I would like to know, however, if you could be counted on in a fight. No offense intended but one must know who he is surrounded by."

Sir Thomas
Monday August 9th, 1999 12:18:59 AM

I would like to study Holly's face this turn as she replys to Giffle's question. I want to know if she is evil. (Detect Evil in Holly's direction)

Guardian Solomar
Monday August 9th, 1999 1:15:59 AM

I turn to Neko. "You've been kind enough to buy as all a room. Why not rest before we begin our travels?" Looking back at Holly, I say to Neko, "I don't know if she has her own room, but I think we should at least offer ours."

Neko
Monday August 9th, 1999 1:35:59 AM

Neko nods at Solomar, "Offer her some a place to stay. As for me...our journeys have left me very weary. Good night." With that Neko returns to his room

Holly(DM S)
Monday August 9th, 1999 2:57:59 AM

"Thanks for the offer, but i hve my own place to stay. In fact, i need to get back to it and make some arrangements, since i wont be back here for a while. Ill meet you here tommrow." then turns to Solomar "I think these will answer your question." she pulls out a string with a bunch of green ears attached to them. "I caught these guys burning down my forest. Here, you can have them." and with that, she tosses them towards Solomar. "Goodnight everyone" she says as she walks out of the in and into the storm.

D.M. (A)
Monday August 9th, 1999 6:53:59 AM

A short, bald dwarf who whears a rag over the lower half of his face and smells of baby powder taps Sir Thomas upon the shoulder. He carrys the bigest two bladed axe you have ever seen. Hi seems to hold the wisdom of the ages in his face and eyes. When you see him you can't help but think 'When I have seen everything those eyes have seen, will I look so kind?" and then he speaks. . .

Donk (D.M. A)
Monday August 9th, 1999 6:55:59 AM

"It not considered polite to spy in people souls here, no mater where you come from!" "I think you owe Holly apology"

Sir Thomas
Monday August 9th, 1999 7:38:59 AM

I double-take with surprise at the dwarf's comment. Then stand and bow out of respect, "You are very right sir, that was impolite of me and I will apologize to Holly first thing in the morning, you have my word on it. And I also apologize to you. I didn't mean to offend anyone. Would you care to join us? You may have my seat. (If he chooses to sit I wait for him to get settled while getting myself another chair, if he doesn't but is not threatening I quickly ask some questions) Do you know Holly? . . . (If so) How?" I am very curtious and sincere both with my tone and my actions and I allow the aged dwarf to reply before asking more questions.

Guardian Solomar
Monday August 9th, 1999 10:12:59 PM

I take the string of ears. An odd gift, I think. "Until tomorrow, Holly. Good night." I say goodnight to Neko, then I follow Neko up to the room and stand guard outside the door.

Alec
Monday August 9th, 1999 11:43:59 PM

Alec nods goodnight to Holly and the old dwarf and follows the Guardian up to the group's sleeping quarters.

Donk (D.M. A)
Tuesday August 10th, 1999 1:41:59 AM

"Donk know Holly well. Donk and Holly been friends long time. Donk watch out for Holly, holly watch out for Donk.

Trace
Tuesday August 10th, 1999 6:56:59 AM

Trace wakes up from his breif sleep. I grab my belongings and make my way back down stairs to releave the group that is on watch. Luke yawns and stretches then slowly follows Trace down stairs. I reach in to my pack and give luke some water and some of my rations. I see Sir Thomas talking to a new stranger and make my way over and introduce myself.

Neko
Tuesday August 10th, 1999 8:50:59 AM

Neko lays on his back in the middle of the night. Thinking of his church back in Elenna and the road ahead. No longer able to sleep he quietly gathers his things, making sure he doesn't wake anyone, makes his way downstairs.

Sir Thomas
Tuesday August 10th, 1999 9:31:59 AM

"Well, I reiterate my apology sir, I am terribly sorry. Will you be joining us on our trip to Hook City? We leave in the morning and Holly will be showing us the way." Seeing Trace approaching "Oh, hello Trace, this is . . . well I don't believe I know who this is." I turn toward the dwarf, "I didn't catch your name sir. I am Sir Thomas, messenger of Alemi's word and protector of Domi's honor, and you are?" I sit so that I am facing the hallway that leads to the stairs that go up so that I may be conscious of who is coming and going that way.

Guardian Solomar
Tuesday August 10th, 1999 6:14:59 PM

I managed to stay awake at my "post" when Trace and Luke walked out, but when Neko opens the door, I jerk my nodding head up instantly. "Who what who?" I'm tense until my eyes focus and I realize it's Neko. I relax. "Umm, carry on . . ." I yawn and nestle into my post again. Some guardian I am, I think.

Gniffle
Tuesday August 10th, 1999 10:03:59 PM

After watching Holly make her way out of the inn the little gnome packs up his meager belongings and heads up to the room which Neko has secured for the night. As he enters a small smile creeps its way across his features as he surveys the sleeping guardian. Moving to the corner away from the door he gently sets down his pack and lays his back against it. He draws his handaxe from his belt and lays it on the floor next to his hand and closes his eyes in anticipation of sleep.

Alec
Wednesday August 11th, 1999 2:07:59 AM

Alec takes his blanket from his pack and rolls up against a wall for some much needed rest. He falls asleep while dreams of home fill his head.

Donk (D.M. A)
Wednesday August 11th, 1999 3:26:59 AM

"You know Alemi? Shhh you not say that to loud, come with Donk!" He begins to walk out side, but as he dose he brings a holy symbol of Domi to his lips.

Sir Thomas
Wednesday August 11th, 1999 7:09:59 AM

Moments ago I had been entertaining ideas of heading for some much needed rest, but the dwarf's reaction cause my eyes to open wide as if they possessed minds of their own. I look around the table with a 'What have I done?' look then stand and grab my pack to follow the dwarf, who's name I still don't know. I say a silent prayer of thanks and hope to both of the gods I worship and rub my own symbol that dangles from my neck.

DM S
Wednesday August 11th, 1999 10:57:59 AM

with Sir Thomas following the dwarf outsind into the rain, the only ones left in the inn are Neko, Trace, and the dockworkers. After glaring at the two companions for a few minuets, they all get up and approach them. "You need to leave right now." one of the dockworkers says to the 2 companions. The ones behind them are clenching their fists in anticipation

Guardian Solomar
Thursday August 12th, 1999 12:34:59 AM

My hold on my quarterstaff loosens as I fall asleep. Finally, the staff falls out of my hand and bangs against the floor. Not much of a racket, but enough to wake me up. I yawn and retrieve the staff. "Anybody gonna give me a break?" I whisper. I set back into my defensive posture, asleep in moments.

Donk (D.M. A)
Thursday August 12th, 1999 1:44:59 AM

The dwarf crosses out into the rain and turns to Sir Thomas. "You from the North?" "How you get here?" "You steal that symbol?" (pointing to the symbol of Alemi).

Neko
Thursday August 12th, 1999 2:56:59 AM

Neko is somewhat taken back...he takes a step back putting some distance between him and the approaching group. "Gentlemen, is there a problem? My friends and I are just looking for some much needed rest...at the first sign of sunlight we will be on our way." He shifts his bag on shoulder, touching his hand to his mace. He speaks over his shoulder, still keeping his eyes on the men. "Solomar! Wake up!" he says in forceful manner....

Trace
Thursday August 12th, 1999 7:00:59 AM

Trace redies his shield and draws his sword. Backing up a few steps his dog Luke starts to growl at the agressors. "Sir I think you need to back off and rethink what you are saying. We are not causeing a problem here and as soon as the sun comes up and the rain stops we are on our merry way. But please do not force me to defend myself."

DM S
Thursday August 12th, 1999 7:15:59 AM

at seeing Trace draw his sword, the dockworkers take a few steps back, but they continue to glare at the two companions, with more hatred in their eyes, if that is possible. one of them picks up a chair, and another one draws a knife from his boot. suddenly the innkeeper rushes out yelling, "No violence, no violence!" he points at one of the dockworkers "Crispen, get you men out of here night now or ill no longer allow you in here! You two". he points at Neko and Trace ,"Get in your room right now, or ill call the watch and throw you out of my tavern!"

Sir Thomas
Thursday August 12th, 1999 7:19:59 AM

"No sir, I did not steal this symbol. I am a knight of Alemi, and Domi for that matter too, and I cherish this symbol as well as their word." Now a little less offended sounding "To answer your other questions, yes I am from the north." I lower my voice a little remembering the advice of someone, "New Elenna to be exact. And we came by boat. It wasn't a pleasant trip I'll tell you that for sure. At the risk of sounding long winded, I was wondering, where are we going because it is VERY late and we are leaving VERY early tommorrow and I need some sleep." (I wonder if it's late) "And how do you know about Alemi and Domi? Are you from the north?" I keep an eye on where we are going so that I might be able to find my way back to the inn tonight." I shoulder my pack onto my left shoulder.

Neko
Thursday August 12th, 1999 7:39:59 AM

The tension begins to ease itself in Neko as he looks to Trace and back to the dispersing group. Neko takes several steps back towards the stairs. He looks to Trace, "Come on, let's get upstairs..."

Guardian Solomar  d20=2

Neko's yell startles me. I jerk out of my sleep and rush toward the bar, staff in hand.

Donk (D.M. A)
Friday August 13th, 1999 1:58:59 AM

Donk turns into a small alley and checks to make sure they were not followed. "You bad omen for town, you brought rain week early, now people go hungry this year, no time to plant food. If they know you have strange Gods then they think you bring devils. Hide that, till you leave town. (pointing to the holy symbol) Alemi, Domi, they not here like they are there. Donk know of north cause Donk stuck in place called Loft of Ravens for long time. Donk have vision from Domi and Domi explain everything. Donk have vision of you and friends last night. You going to cause BIG trouble, but also help the struggle in BIG way too. Donk don't know if he should kill you or hug you. Holly trust you so Donk wait. Try not to get self killed OK!"

Sir Thomas
Friday August 13th, 1999 3:49:59 AM

"O.K. Donk, I am to assume your name is Donk, right? Let's try not talking in riddles if we could please. We are not ging to get into any big trouble. If this is a peaceful town then we want nothing more than to leave it peacful. If there is a problem here I would like to be among the first to help solve it, but you're going to have to explain to me the BIG struggle a little better if you would please. And why does Holly trust us? She doesn't even know us." I say this while hiding my holy symbol even though it goes against my wholoe being. I'll cooperate to stay out of trouble. "Also, I'll do my best to not get killed if you do your best to not kill me . . . deal?"

Trace
Friday August 13th, 1999 7:25:59 AM

Thanking the Gods for the intervention of the inn keeper Trace backs his way up the stairs and returning his Long Sword back to its place. Once up the stairs Trace calls his dog Luke to follow and makes his way back to the room. Once inside the room Trace lets the rest of the group know what happened and that they should leave at first light. Rain or no rain.

Neko stops to see the "brave" Solomar bounding to their rescue. Neko mumbles to Solomar as he heads back to the room..."Thanks for the backup..."

As Neko and Trace make their way into the room the little gnome props himself up on his pack. "They certainly don't like us here do they. Speaking of unmitigated hatred...where is our knight in shining armor? I havent seen nor heard from him in a while."

Neko stops and glances about the room. "Good question...where is Thomas?" He looks out into the hallway and steps back into the room. "Have any of you seen him? Those dockworkers won't be too happy to find him running around."

Guardian Solomar

"I thought Thomas was supposed to help me guard." I yawn. "Not that I need help, of course . . ." I take a quick look downstairs, trying not to disturb the bartender, and then I rejoin the group. "I didn't see him at the bar . . . (sighs) I'm going to go look for him--who knows what kind of trouble he may stir up if left to himself. Anybody coming with me?"

Alec
Sunday August 15th, 1999 7:12:59 PM

Roused from his slumber by the commotion, Alec looks around, then at Guardian, "I will go with you. I don't see how we will get any sleep tonight until we are all safe together here." With that Alec stands, and prepares to walk out into the night with Guardian Solomar, in search of Sir Thomas.
