Taking the Edge Off

Olana
Wednesday January 5th, 2000 6:44:27 PM

::slurping on a flaming green gnomish and watching Fig take care of Ingrge:: "Magic really takes it out on a person, doesn't it," she says, master of the obvious statement.

Flueterflam
Wednesday January 5th, 2000 7:05:50 PM

At Figment's comment, "Actually, now that you mention it, I could use the dagger as well. In fact, that's probably the most suitable item for me. So let me reiterate, I'm up for the ring of warmth, wand, or dagger. Or any combination of the three ::evil grin::" Fluet twiddles his thumbs a bit more, waiting for something else to happen, something worthy of his attention.

Ingrge
Wednesday January 5th, 2000 7:54:08 PM

Ingrge revives enough to get some food and drink in him and stagger with Figments aid to a bed. the next morning when he awakens he will start copying spell from the spellbook (can someone let me know what spells are there?) when done he reenters the company of the group and tells the group that the bandolier of daggers when thrown, return to the bandolier after hitting their target(or the ground or whatever). also if they are split up, their magic doesnt work, and their magic bonuses are only in effect when they are thrown. thats all there is to know about them. he will state that he really is interested in the bandoleir amongst all of the other items, but will bow to the necessity of the groups needs and safety.

as everyone talks, people seem to be getting a good idea what everyone should have

As K'Nara toils over who should get what the mage suggests "K'Nara, why not give everyone an item, and then let's see what's left and choose again?"

The priest shrugged. "Doesn't matter to me."

Olana
Friday January 7th, 2000 4:16:51 PM

Olana whispers to Ingrge that the bandolier would look good on him, nods at Fig's suggestion, and then looks at her drink on the table. "Okay Milo - down in one after a count of three." And then - taking a deep breath - "Three -two - one -!" she pours the remainder of the drink down her throat. "Oh my......" she then croaks, looking a bit green.

Milo
Saturday January 8th, 2000 1:19:32 PM

Dropping the flaming green gnomish down the hatch, Milo comes up with a somewhat forced grin... His ears begin turning red and his eyes are watering. Wiping a hand across his eyes Milo croaks, "Not bad... let's try that again."

"Oh no, no drinking for me. Not til I forget the taste from the last time..." Shad waved to his comrades, before departing. Roaming about in the city, he looked for one of those famous 'magic shops' to pick up some extra Potions of Extra Healing.

K'nara
Monday January 10th, 2000 7:04:10 AM

K'nara consumes a prodigious amount of food with quick but clean efficiency, keeping an indulgent eye upon Milo and Olana as they amuse themselves with their little drinking contest. "Oh, come now, ranger," she teases her fellow female fighter, "You don't mean to tell me that a sip of yon emerald brew fusses your tummy a little? You should thank your lucky stars you aren't having to down that Salamander potion that the barbarians had called for!" The human bladesinger rolled her hazel eyes expressively. "I STILL have the echoes of a hangover from THAT stuff!" The Talons at the table laugh, with K'nara laughing loudest of all. Once the entire troupe is assembled at the table, however, the tall woman warrior grows somewhat somber. "My friends, I'm very glad that we are together once more, for I must relate to you what happened during our involuntary breakup..." Thus did K'nara launch into her story of how Parnoth tried to have her killed...

frowns as the warrior woman tells her story. "The more I learn of Parnoth the less I like him. Even though he does hold off the Dark Lord from taking over the Emerald Kingdom area I would think he would stand to benefit from showing kindness to the citiznes there. Perhaps we will be in a position to defeat him some day.". The mage takes the wand and bracers and arms himself with them. "I think I'm going to like this...".

The Beginning(DM Sam)  d8=7
Monday January 10th, 2000 8:58:20 PM

its been a few weeks since the heros have returned from Madam Colsum's mansion. wounds have been healed, and has gotter some much needed rest. even though there are a few remaining questions about Madam Colsum and her mansion, they can wait for another time. as everyone relaxes in the Red Wyrm Inn, Olana notices a familiar face in the crowd : Maredrew of the Tines. he seems to be seaching the crowd for someone, and hasnt noticed any of you yet

The mage relaxes and enjoys the ambiance. Thinking about what to do next. He considers his equipment and supplies. He also thinks about his decisions on magic acquired and tries to make sure his arsenal is as good as it can be. He also studies and prctices his new spells daily at the guild - trying to make contacts and be seen.

Olana
Tuesday January 11th, 2000 11:46:54 AM

"Oh my..." croaks the elf to Milo. "I don't think I could handle another. This drink seems to have hit me like a brick wall. What a wimp I am, eh?" She chuckles along with K'Nara at the mention of the previous drinking contest, and then listens to the bladesinger's tale. "That horrid dragon," she says quietly at the end, and lapses into sorrowful silence. Then, as her eyes scan the Inn, in an attempt to distract herself, she notices someone. "Oh look," she whispers. "Someone from the Tines. I wonder who he's looking for?" And with that she tries discreetly to get Maredrew's attention with a small wave.

K'nara
Tuesday January 11th, 2000 1:11:26 PM

"One of the--" K'nara looks around, then recognizes Maredrew herself. "My, my...this is fortuitous...and just when I was going to propose my...ah, well...let's see what Maredrew has to say."

Milo
Tuesday January 11th, 2000 2:54:23 PM

Milo sits silently at the table with a distinct frown on his face as K'nara recounts her tale. When she is finished he pipes up, "I wonder what broiled dragon tastes like...?" Then smiles at Olana's remark regarding the Flaming Green Gnomish... On the inside he is thinking... ooff... I think I've had enough for now as well.

Figment
Tuesday January 11th, 2000 4:22:04 PM

As the time has passed, the mage chats with Ingrge about magic and ways of casting. During the course of those conversations, Figment makes a suggestion. "You know, Ingrge, it has occured to me in our conversations that it is very possible that you have knowledge of spells that I do not, and that I have knowledge of spells that you do not. I have a proposal: I will allow you to peruse a list of spells I have in my books if you will allow me the same honour. If one of us has knowledge the other lacks, then the other will share it. That way we will be potentially much more prepared to survive in our adventures together. As a token of good faith, I offer you this list of spells I copied from the library of the Gold Dragons and notes I made on the construction methods they used on their books. They were quite impressive as you will see. The list - according to Joe Hand - is a complete description of all known spells in the Wold of the first three levels of magic. It will tell you what is out there that you don't have. I think that to be of great value. t has been to me. My only request is that you return this when you are finished.". The mage hands Ingrge a tome of impressive construction which contains all the notes and spell lists. He shows Ingrge how to bypass his Wizard Lock and Leomund's Trap so they do not spring as he uses it.

Cover up(DM Sam)
Tuesday January 11th, 2000 9:28:40 PM

after a few moments of trying to get Maredrew's attention, Olana finally gets his attention. with a big smile on his face, he comes over to the Talon's table, but before anyone can greet him he puts his finger on his lips, indicating that everyone should be quiet. then he reaches into one of his pouches on his belt and produces 8 silver scarves, one for each of you and one for him. he puts his on over his face, then says, "Please, put these on. Then we can talk without any unwanted ears listening in on us."

Ingrge
Tuesday January 11th, 2000 9:28:41 PM

Having shopped and restocked his personal supplies and added a few new things as well, Ingrge finally starts to relax a bit and even manages to knock back a drink or two as he chats with Figment and listens to K'nara's story. Agreeing totally with Figment Ingrge agrees to a sharing of knowledge but frankly tells Figment that He, Ingrge was getting by far the better end of the deal. As Maredrew approaches and Ingrge recognizes him, a snarl apears on Ingrge's face and a dagger leaps to his hand as he stands to face the Tine. "FALSE ONE AND BETRAYER, TELL ME WHY YOU SHOULD NOT DIE!

Shadrach
Wednesday January 12th, 2000 12:26:12 AM

Shad had just walked into the Inn when he saw his best buddies kicking back. The group had been pretty lazy these last two weeks. Shad decided he liked Plateau City, but he was restless. He waved, then noticed some guy they were talking to put a scarf on his face. ::Huh?:: Shad walked up and suddenly Ingrge jumped up. Shad had a 'I was about to say hello, but have lost my train of thought' look and said, "What?"

K'nara
Wednesday January 12th, 2000 7:41:06 AM

K'nara blinked in surprise, then eyed the sudden interest of Dis Gruntle--the Red Wyrm Inn's half-ogre bouncer--and immediately placed herself between Ingrge and Maredrew. "My friend--" she addressed Ingrge directly, "--the last time I saw Maredrew, he was Tine, as am I...but I obviously have missed somthing during our separation..." Here the female fighter turns to face Maredrew. "I trust Ingrge's judgement--but I know that yon bouncer will toss all of out most painfully if a fight begins in this place...answer Ingrge's question if you wish for us to follow you, Maredrew."

Figment
Wednesday January 12th, 2000 10:43:37 AM

the mage starts at Ingrge's reaction to the man. As a fight does not break out immediately he holds and sees what is about to happen. But is ready to cast should the need arise.

Olana
Wednesday January 12th, 2000 1:25:27 PM

Momentarily shocked, Olana rises to her feet quickly at the quick tempered wood elf's reaction. Shaking off the effects of the green gnomish, she goes to Ingrge's side. "Easy," she whispers, aware of the bouncer. "Not here like this." And then to K'Nara - "Maybe this is to do with a question of Tines support, or the lack of it. Remember when we were exiled by Parnoth? On pain of death?" With a sigh she looks back at Ingrge. "Is that what this is about? Or is it something else?"

Confrontation(DM Sam)
Wednesday January 12th, 2000 8:06:51 PM

surprised by Ingrge's challenge, Maredrew freezes up while K'anra gets between him and Ingrge. while all of this is going on, Milo, Olana, and Figment notice that all other conversations have ceased in the inn, and Shadrach and Flueterflam notice that barkeep motions to three very big men and point at your table.

Milo
Wednesday January 12th, 2000 8:06:52 PM

Turning casually to Olana the halfling remarks glibly, "Sometimes its the uncomfortable silences that say everything." He grins, and then ducks under the table, in preparation for a ruckus.

Ingrge
Wednesday January 12th, 2000 8:06:53 PM

Stopping at K'narra's bequest and at Olanna's question, Ingrge stops replaces his dagger and suddenly goes absolutely stil, almost trancelike, then in a voice you all recall as Red's the leader of the Tines, you hear. "If you join the "Tines" we can offer you protection from Parnoth, for instance this will be the last "favor" you are ever asked to do for him. there is a slight pause and then again in Red's voice. "This is the oath that you must take, as all Tines do. 'I swear to aid the people of the emrald kingdom in anyway so long as I breathe. I swear to protect and defend my brother tines for the good of the kingdom. I swear not to aid the dragon in any manner. another brief pause and then. All you must do is simply stand before the fire, look into the eyes of the portrait of the chossen one, and say 'I so do swear by, what ever god you choose. It is a magicaly binding oath, the magic will let others of the tines know that you are loyal, to be aided and if you ever break your oath, just as you will know them. As each member speakes the oath a light breeze carrys through the enclosed room smelling of roses. A voice from nowhere comes." "Thank ye my friends, thou shall never again serve the Dragon as long as thou remain loyal to thine brothers and sisters. At then end of this speech the pause is greater and then Ingrge shakes his head and looks back at Maredew. "So False One what have you to say about those promises that were made to us." "We more than carried out our end of the deal, only to find ourselves in Parnoth's dungeons, once again doing his bidding and now exiled from our homes under sentence of death, should we dare to return." "Why should we hear, let alone believe anything you now have to say?" "Speak now while you can, for I have found I have a distinct dislike for rodent all of a sudden."

Shadrach
Thursday January 13th, 2000 12:38:57 AM

"We took that oath, too, Ingrge. How come you're the only one with this special knowledge that the Tines betrayed us? If the Tines were as powerful as they HOPE to be, Parnath'd be out already."

Disgruntal
Thursday January 13th, 2000 11:25:41 AM

The huge giant-like being leans against the wall holding a block of granite in one hand that must weigh at least 500 to 750 pounds. He appears to be carving a face in it with his fingers - easily - while keeping one eye on the tavern at all times. The ever vigilant bouncer slowly places the granite down on the floor and ceases leaning against the wall. The timbers creak as he stands fully erect. As his arm muscles begin to flex he is heard under his breath to whisper/grumble "Come on... come on... just a little more... Come on... fight...". The patrons in his vicinty brace themselves. You know, when he gets like this, he sure looks bigger and much stronger than any half-ogre you've seen. In fact a lot stronger...

Figment
Thursday January 13th, 2000 11:32:59 AM

as the mage notices the attention from the tavern staff, he stands and puts a hand on Ingrge's shoulder. "My friend, perhaps a 'non-violent' resolution would be a healthier approach at this time. Any attempt at attack in this place would be futile - and painful I think. You've demanded and explanation. It would only be fair to let him give one. Please... sit.".

Flueterflam
Thursday January 13th, 2000 2:40:47 PM

Fluet, having just soaked up most of what was going on so that he may learn more of what he didn't yet understand, suddenly becomes much more on edge when he sees Disgruntal stand up tall. "uuhh..whoa.." After several moments, he catches his breathl. "If you two are just going to talk, let's just stay here, but if you both feel the strong obligation to fight, I strongly suggest you both take it outside. Else you may not be walking without help for a long while." He waits to see which option they take. Then, if they stay inside and talk, Fluet unstraps his lute from his back and begins to play the happiest upbeat song he can think of. Hopefully this will help get the rest of the inn minding their own business again.

Talking It Out(DM Sam)
Thursday January 13th, 2000 8:11:59 PM

Once he sees that Ingrge has calmed down a bit, Maredrew seems to come to his senses. "You feel we have betrayed you? I can understand your feelings. Your not the only ones this has happened too. We dont understand why its happening." then he pulls out the silver scarves again. "If you please, can we continue this converstation with these on? They prevent scrying on the wearer. Here is one for each of you." he says and hands one to everyone who will take on. as Figment starts to play, the crowd begins to go back to their conversations. and seeing that there isnt going to be a all out brawl, the bouncers continue to work their way to the table a little more slowly. when they get there, one of them walks up to Ingrge. "If you feel you must use a weapon here, go down to the Maw, or leave. We have a strict policy here : no fighting." then he and his men back off a bit, but stay within about 50 ft of the table in case there is more trouble.

Shadrach
Thursday January 13th, 2000 11:11:58 PM

Shad nodded to the bouncers. He inspected the silver hankie with disgust, much the way he felt about Fluet's 'Come on, get happy' song. "Very pretty. You know, I like the sad songs best, Fluet." He put on the pretty scarf.

Figment  d20=6

bows to the bouncers and offers an almost charming response (Made Cha by plenty) "Kind sirs, we apologize for testing your policy. We are currently boarders here and do not wish to cause trouble. I can assure you there will be no fighting here. If necessary it will be taken outside.". As the bouncers move away he takes a scarf and puts it on. "I have nothing to hide, but I have no desire to be spied upon either. We have not met. I am Figmentary. My friends call me Figment. And you are Maredrew I take it - from the Emerald Kingdom perhaps?"

Olana
Friday January 14th, 2000 12:42:20 AM

The elf breaks into a grin as Fluet starts to play, hoping it will lighten things up a bit. She understood Ingrge's feelings toward being banished from the Kingdom. After all, it meant that technically she'd never be able to go home either. She underpins Figment's diffusion of the tense situation by giving the bouncers one of her bright, cheery smiles. Then, donning the scarf, she settles to listen to Maredrew.

Ingrge
Friday January 14th, 2000 6:38:57 AM

Not yet mollified but having already put away his dagger, Ingrge still awaits Maredew's answer. As the bouncer approaches Ingrge Shows his empty hands and rights his overturned chair, sit and waits for an answer. When the scarf is proffered, he will reluctantly take it, place it on his head and await maredew's response.

Milo
Friday January 14th, 2000 12:28:21 PM

Seeing that there isn't going to be a fight, Milo pops back up from underneath the table. He looks momentarily disappointed, but when Fleuterflam begins his song, his face brightens, and he dances a quick jig. Then with little jump, he lands in front of Maredrew, "Well met... I'm Milo... Milo Thistledown, and these are MY friends." One hand gestures out to the group while the other quickly snatches a scarf. "Cool, magic stuff." Milo puts the scarf on like everyone else, but also begins to play with it, pulling it down over his face and then lifting it up, "Boo!"

K'nara
Friday January 14th, 2000 1:19:00 PM

The warrior woman nods, understanding Ingrge's feelings. "Ahhh...you have a point, Ingrge...but so does Olana. The Tines are lucky they still exist at all, given that Parnoth claimed to know the location of the contact I'd introduced you to..." K'nara frowns, then takes up a silver scarf. "Protection from scrying..? Prudent--especially when I distinctly recall that reptile's way of monitoring our progress." She grimaces at the memory of Parnoth's eavesdropping medallion and then ties the scarf loosely around her left wrist. "Sit, then, Maredrew--these scarves and the distance from the other patrons should serve well enough to keep unwanted ears from listening...then you should be able to explain all."

Talking It Out(DM Sam)
Saturday January 15th, 2000 3:10:51 AM

taking the offered seat from K'nara, Maredrew puts his face in his hads for a minuete, then he sits back up. "Look, Im sorry all of you were forced out of your home. But you have to understand, there wasnt anything any of us could do. We would of revealed who we were and Parnoth would of easily wiped us out to a man. And then what would of happened?" he pauses for a moment, staring off in space, then he continues. "Look, no one in the Tines liked what happened. We try to take care of our own, but sometimes that isnt possible. You have to understand that!" he says, sorrow and fustration clearly heard in his voice. he quickly regains his composure and says. "These scarves are a gift for you all. They prevent Parnoth from locating your presense and scrying on you, even in the Emerald Kindome." then he pauses again, then he says "I hope you want to go back home, because in the elvin community of Titania hundreds of elves are dieing!"

listens with interest. He does not respond other than to smile a bit. He watches the others trying to learn more about these Tines. As he listens he struggles with his thoughts "Tines... Tines... I vaguely remember hearing of them - but that's it (Failed Int). Hmmm. Some of us appear to be one of them though. Better learn all I can and fast.".

Flueterflam
Sunday January 16th, 2000 10:19:59 AM

"Are those the elves we saw when we were on the boat? You know, that living thing." Fluet also takes a scarf. He puts in on in the most stylish way he can. Then remembering what Shad said, "You know I was just trying to get everyone off our backs. But I'll start working on new 'sad' one. Just after I finish the one about Joe and his wife. It isn't yet completely finished."

Olana
Sunday January 16th, 2000 2:29:59 PM

Olana nods as Maredrew speaks. "It is never easy when the enemy is so great, and we are so few. The scarf is a great gift, we can now operate under Parnoth's snout and he will be unaware of it. Thankyou Maredrew." Then - as he goes on to talk of the elves, she leaps to her feet in horror. "Dying?? Oh no!! But we must help them - we must!!" she exclaims, her voice almost a high-pitched squeak at the thought of such devastation.

K'nara
Monday January 17th, 2000 6:30:05 AM

The frown on the female fighter's face is akin to a snarl, but her voice as she addresses Maredrew--while harsh--is low and measured. "Titania...I can't quite place it, as geography isn't my long suit, but DO tell us what that puke-colored reptile is responsible for NOW." Then K'nara gestures to Olana to try to get a grip on herself and sit down to listen to their fellow Tine's story.

Milo
Monday January 17th, 2000 5:11:49 PM

Standing there with an extremely pale look on his face, "Were in over our heads..." Milo trails off and then forces himself to swallow.

Ingrge
Monday January 17th, 2000 6:57:16 PM

Turning paler than you ever thought you could see an elf turn, Ingrge, with barely controled rage, turns to Maredew and says, If - I - ever - find - out - that - ANY - Tine could have stopped what is happening to my people, I personally will hunt down and exterminate every last member, if I have to come back from the dead to do it. So I swear upon the Gods of the Wold. Now quickly, before more of my people die, tell us what you know and what you want of us and why you think we can help.

Talking It Out(DM Sam)
Tuesday January 18th, 2000 1:45:36 AM

turns an angry glare on Ingrge, and says in a low voice "I understand your anger, but dont you dare threaten me or my friends ever again. "Your people" are my people too!" his hand falls to the hilt of his longsword, and for a minuet it seems like he might actually draw it, but after about a minuet he slowly removes his hand from it. "Maybe I made a mistake seeking you all out." he says, shaking his head sadly. "Maybe I should go find someone else." then he rises from his chair, looking like he is preparing to leave

K'nara
Tuesday January 18th, 2000 7:26:30 AM

"Maredrew, you take one more step and even Dis Gruntle will not be able to pry my fingers from your throat." K'nara says firmly, then looks from Ingrge back to the messenger from the Emerald Kingdom. "Now, sit down and TELL us what's happening--because all of us aren't happy with the basic news about Titania, and we need to know ALL the details."

Shadrach
Tuesday January 18th, 2000 3:16:34 PM

Shad glared at Ingrge. "There is no point in playing the friend, if you are determined to behave like a brainless thug. Go, break your oath, take him outside and beat information out of him! I have had enough of your murderousness!"

Disgruntal
Tuesday January 18th, 2000 3:52:54 PM

Once again taking note at the activity at the Talons' table the huge being bellows "Either fight or don't! You're interrupting my carving! Make up your mind!".

Olana
Tuesday January 18th, 2000 5:25:36 PM

Blinking for a moment, the elf then leaps into action. With a rather forced cheery smile she says to Disgruntle "Everything's alright...really it is," before standing alongside Ingrge. There she whispers to him. "You must control your anger. Close your eyes, take a good long, deep breath. As you exhale - let the anger flow out with it. We must be calm now, then we can think clearly, and help our fellows. Okay?"

Flueterflam
Tuesday January 18th, 2000 7:56:29 PM

Fluet gets a sudden idea. Whispering to his companions, "Someone needs to fill me in after this is all through." He winks then stands up. He proceeds to casually walk past Disgruntal. As he is walking near, he looks at the carving Disgruntal is working on. Fluet then walks up to the hulking brute, "Doing that is o.k., but how bout if you trying doing it more like this..." Fluet tries showing him a different 'style' of carving. Hopefully drawing his attention away from the group for awhile.

Milo
Tuesday January 18th, 2000 8:26:38 PM

Milo sits motionless and listens very intently, then lapses momentarily mentioning off hand to no one in particular... "I love it when everyone is all worked up... especially when I'm not the one they're all worked up about." He smiles wistfully, then returns to silence.

Yelling It Out(DM Sam)
Wednesday January 19th, 2000 1:35:30 AM

Maredrew turns his glare from Ingrge to K'nara, but doesnt say anything. after a long pause, he sits back down. "There is a disease running rampent throughout the kindome, though it is mostly near Culverwood. Parnoth didnt create it, but hes quarenteened that part of the kindome off, allowing everyone there to die. We have already found a cure, but need someone to deliver it. We were hoping that all of you would do it, but now im not sure i should of ever told you about it." then he pulls out a scroll. "There isnt any time to waste. Either you do this, or you dont. If you decide to, I have some more info for you. If you dont, then I need to find someone who will. But I need your decision now."

K'nara
Wednesday January 19th, 2000 5:07:46 AM

K'nara's scowl deepens as Maredrew speaks, her animosity for the dragon holding her homeland in his evil clutches increasing exponentially as the elf from the Tines gives the details. "_Thank_ you, Maredrew." she says tightly. "If the Emerald Kingdom is in such need, then those of us sworn to the cause of the Tines will come to its aid. Ingrge here is just holding a bit of a grudge because of Parnoth's ill-treatment of us as a group...he is correct in that the Tines HAD promised to keep us from having to work for that miserable bag of moldy scales, but it's obvious that we need to build up more of a power base against the dragon. Meanwhile..." here the warrior woman holds out her hand for the scroll in question, "...Titania needs help, and the Emerald Talons will do whatever they can to give that aid."

Milo
Wednesday January 19th, 2000 10:38:55 AM

His grin turning to a look of extreme dubiousness, "Good Maredrew... how do we avoid catching their bug while we're saving them? I'd like to help as much as any of my comrades, but a dead... um scout... or elf or priest or wizard... if we die in transit, what is the point." Milo clears his throat, then, "Do you have any suggestions on how we avoid catching the disease... you can't fight that enemy with steel, or wits for that matter."

Disgruntal
Wednesday January 19th, 2000 10:39:56 AM

ignores the distractions and focuses on the bar. To Fluet he says gruffly "Show me when my shift is over. But I doubt you can teach me anything.". Looking at the carving you can tell this guy is a master - at least by human standards. You also notice (if your listening) that the bouncer has quite a diverse and rich vocabulary. Strange for a bouncer...

The mage looks on with interest and mentions his feelings. "I have no tie to the Tines - other than my compatriots apparently are members - but I would welcome an adventure. We've been here too long and the cause seems quite worthy.".

Wednesday January 19th, 2000 1:57:08 PM

Glaring back at Shad, I have no intentions of breaking any of the oaths I have taken. My latest oath is in fact very much in line with the oath I took with the Tines. I will give up my life and more in the protection and defense of the people of the Emerald Forest and I will destroy ALL who cause those same people injury or death. Perhaps you should take a look at the oath you yourself swore before judging others. Watching Maredew for a momnet and hearing what he has to say, Ingrge comes to a decision, sighs and and then to Maredew he asks, "So what exactly is this disease? Where did it come from and what are its symptoms? Does it affect only elves? And as my friend here so tactfully put it, How are we to avoid catching this disease ourselves?

Olana
Wednesday January 19th, 2000 6:25:08 PM

Still in a bit of a muddle, at her fellows having a verbal skirmish, Olana exclaims - "Oooh - well if we have the cure, then it wont matter if we're susceptible to the disease or not will it?"

Shadrach

Shad stared coldly and murmured, "I know who is to blame for the elves' plight. I do not seek easy scapegoats."

seeing that everyone has calmed down a bit, Maredrew sits back down at the table. "The disease is called the Goblin's wasting, because it causes elves to turn into goblins, and killing any other humanoid that catches it. As i said before, we already have the cure. A alchemist named Drahdi has made it, but unfortunatly he sucummed to the disease and became a goblin himself. The cure itself is a bitter tasting tea. If you take it before you go, you will be immune to the disease. All I need you to do is take them to them to the village of Perpaguil in the tamed lands, and then take the rest to Titania. I have the stuff all loaded in a wagon ready to go. This", he says, passing the scroll to K'nara "Is a map that shows the road to Perpaguil. Once there look for elves wearing the same scarves that i gave you. They are Tine agents and will distribute the cure. But i must tell you, in Titania is where its the worst. Parnoth knows this and has 'volunteers', which are members of the Tines and their families. Some of your family members might be there, but i dont know for sure. Also, one of our leaders has been imprisoned, but thats not important right now. You need to get that cure to Titania."

After listening to the story the mage speaks. "I have some questions and comments. You say you have the tea here? If so, does the anicdote only work for a time or is it permanent? If it's permanent I'd say we should take it now. Also, for those who have already succumbed to the disease, can it be reversed? Do those who turn into goblins become a goblin in every way or is it just their bodies? Does this Drahdi still have his mind? Is he now evil or still good?"

Fluet, realizing his plan might not work so well, says, "Actually, after your shift, you might be able to teach me a thing or two. Sorry for bothering you." He smiles then returns to the group. Hearing about the 'disease', Fluet asks, "I'm not trying to doubt you, but if this is as serious as you say, you must understand how much trouble we all have in doubting you. Especially those of us who were exiled. Don't misunderstand though, I'm in. I'll do it. But I hope you know, that if anything is different, and at least one of us lives, you may be in worse condition than anything that happens to us." Fluet is completely honest the whole time. Not once does he sound threatening. "I don't mean it as a threat though...by the way, what will you be doing while we travel there to hopefully spread the cure? And also, I'm not saying we exactly kept our whereabouts hidden, but how did you find us?" During these questions, Fluet does sound a bit suspicious. No harsh intentions obviously.

Thursday January 20th, 2000 8:11:13 PM

The female fighter's face is a stone mask as she absorbs the fact that Parnoth has likely rounded up and deposited all known Tine members and their families in the affected area. "Sounds just like him." she says with a snort. "Well, then, Maredrew, thank you for the news...is there a wagon with the supplies to make this cure or do we gather those up ourselves?" K'nara carefully tucks the scroll away in her belt pouch as Maredrew answers her question. "We must go purchase decent mounts, then," she tells the group, "and then we can make for the Kingdom...after partaking of that tea preventative first, of course."

I think he got into some posion or something. then he turns to Shadrach. "We've known about it for about 3 months, but we contacted Drahdi when we first found out about it. Glancing at Maredrew momentarily, "Yeah..." then looking up and away from the table Milo shouts to the barmaid..."Hey Sweetie... could we get a kettle of boiling hot water over here... we're gonna have tea... The mage smiles broadly at the thought of getting mounts. "I will be glad to lend my equestrian expertise to this effort. I am somewhat of an expert on that.". At Maredrew's prompting for more questions the mage asks "You know, Fluet did ask an interesting question: How did you find us? Are others capable of or interested in doing the same - Parnoth perhaps?". After a moment of thought the mage turns to K'Nara and asks a second question: "K'Nara, this may just be a technicality - but it sounds like they are important to Parnoth. You actually are not banished from the Emerald Kingdom like your comrades here. You were sent on a different mission which you completed. Even though you were intended to die you were not commanded to. Therefore you would not be breaking the law - such as it is - by reentering the Emerald Kingdom would you? It may be nothing but it might be useful some time.".

Shadrach

"It wouldn't be too hard for Parnath to find us. We've been staying at the Red Wyrm Inn for two weeks, and had a fairly high profile banquet and dress-up party just before that. We must be cautious of spies, even if the scarves protect us from old Greenie's scrying. But I hope you don't contemplate K'Nara's entering openly! He'd only try to kill her again. Maredrew, DOES the oath of the Tines actually allow one to know who is a traitor to the Tines?"

Olana
Friday January 21st, 2000 10:09:27 PM

Olana will help prepare the tea when the water arrives. Wrinkling her nose she says to Milo - "You know, I hope this tea tastes better than what we drank earlier. Made me feel rather weird, that did."

Sweetie Pie
Saturday January 22nd, 2000 11:59:53 AM

A whistling sound is heard from the direction of the kitchen. Moments later, a strawberry blonde half elf brings a fair-sized pot of water in a dark turqoise ceramic pot. Steam emanates from the nicely curved spout. On a tray she holds in the other hand are enough cups and spoons for all at the table. The cups form a circle 'round the sugar bowl, cream pitcher, and matching turqoise small tea pot. "The cups are hot." She pulls an indented delicate metallic mesh screen attached to a handle. Indicating the small tea pot, she suggests to Olana, "If you can fill this about 3/4 full of the tea leaves, hold it and I'll pour the hot water over it." She waits for Olana to do so, then pours. "Fine. Now let that sit for a few minutes. Then pour a little into the bottom of each cup," she says, holding the mesh screen over a cup by way of demonstration, "maybe an ounce or two. On top of that, pour more hot water. And of course, here is sugar and cream, if you'd like either." She excuses herself, and returns a few moments later with a large tray, half filled with pastries, the other half with assorted sliced fruit. Sweetie Pie flashes a warm smile to those at the table. "Enjoy! Let me know if I can get you anything else." She gives Milo a wink, and goes to wait on another table.

Milo returns the wink and turns back to the party with a smug look on his face, "Pastry anyone... I hear the rasberry filled are perfectly delicious... You might as well, a spoon full of sugar and all that... " Milo helps himself to one of the larger delicacies.

Ingrge
Saturday January 22nd, 2000 3:24:59 PM

Listening to all the other chatter, Ingrge is silent for awhile and seems to be lost in thought. As the tea is made he takes a cup as it is handed out and lifts it to his mouth only to spit it out violently with a muttered curse as it burns his lips. Now aware of his surroundings again, Ingrge looks aroud at the group and asks. "What if we were to reenter the Emerald Kingdom already disguised as a diseased group already looking like goblins. Perhaps we could have the scarves on as part of our disguise trying to shield our diseased appearence from others. Parnoth might not be looking for a group of ill travellers. Maredew, when Parnoth banishes a group or family to the infected area do they have some sort of mark or letter that identifies them as being sent there?. And if so how can we get some forged ones?

"Well, you could disguise yourself as goblins, but everyone in the kindome has orders to kill them on sight and burn the bodies in order to prevent the disease. As far as getting orders to get you in there, I can get them, but it will take time. And time is something we dont have. And dont worry about Parnoth scrying you too much. Like I said, the scarves protect you from that, and some of our fellow Tines are going to cause some trouble in the northern part of the kindome, so that Parnoth's attention is diverted away from you. And as far how I found you, there were rumors that you were here. Im surprised Parnoth didnt send someone after you." then he pulls out a small pouch. "Heres the tea. It tastes like crap, but it will protect you."

That was bad - but managable. Maredrew, will you be traveling with us? Also, are there any groups that would be opposed to us getting the medicine to the elves? I would think even Parnoth would not benefit from this. How can he increase his hoard if his subjects are all dead or goblins? Strange..."

K'nara
Monday January 24th, 2000 12:21:40 PM

As Olana prepares the tea, K'nara contemplates the possible ways to sneak into the Emerald Kingdom. "Well...we could try disguising ourselves either as tourists--which will require some spending--or as imported talent to entertain tourists...which, as we all know, Parnoth brings into the area all the time to keep the tourists diverted from noticing the atrocious conditions of the natives. I think disguising ourselves as an acting troupe would work best, since it's unobtrusive enough to not have any guards try to 'escort us for our own safety,' nor for them to hassle us too much since they'll obviously be on the defensive against the disease and/or the diversion that Maredrew is referring to. I do believe that Fluet and I can help with the disguises, since he's a bard and I have...some small experience with living in disguise." The chestnut-haired warrior woman smiled reminiscently as the hunchbacked alter-ego of Modo came to mind.

Milo
Monday January 24th, 2000 12:24:28 PM

Milo thinks to himself, 'Why hasn't Parnoth sent someone indeed... who do you suppose Madame Colsum was working for?' Then a thought occurs to Milo, and making a concerted effort not to eye Maredrew suspiciously, he sits, allowing his tea to cool. Then, in a very offhand tone, "So good Maredrew... whats in the tea? I mean, what is it composed of? That could be useful information if perchance we run out." Milo holds off on drinking the tea, waiting to see what sort of effect it will have.

Olana looks at Ingrge like he's gone completely mad. "I am NOT changing into a goblin!" she exclaims, and downs her share of the tea as fast as she can. He was dead when i got there, so I didnt have a chance to ask him what was in it." then he turns to Figment. "No, I wont be going with you. I have some Tine bussiness with memebers of the Gold Dragons. As far as what you will be running into, Parnoth does have patrolls in the area, but they are more to prevent people leaving than entering. But there are roving bands of goblins and kobolds as stuff like that, victims of the disease, running about. Id be careful of them."

Seeing Maredrew drop the tea down the hatch dispels Milo's suspicions, and he proceeds to pour himself a pre-emptive glass of fruit juice, and arrange another pastry in front of himself just so. Then with out further ado, he plugs his nose with one hand, grabs the cup of tea in the other and drops it down the hatch. In an amazing display of dexterity, he no sooner pours the foul concoction down his throat than he drops the teacup and grabs the juice glass all in the same motion, chasing the tea down... all without releasing the grip on his own nose. With that he comes up... 'burp' "Excuse me." Smiles and grabs the pastry and stuffs it in his mouth. The whole display is impressive... even for a halfling.

Fluet finally decides to have some tea, since everyone else has. BUT FIRST, he closes his eyes, plugs his nose with one hand, and holds his breath. Then he takes a big gulp, forcing it down. Having accomplished that, he immediately has a pastry to get the taste away. "Did you have anything in mind K'nara, or was that just a tentative idea? Either way, it sounds fine with me." When Fluet starts to think about going back to Emerald Kingdom, he suddenly remembers his parents. He remembers how hard it was telling his parents that he was leaving to go adventure. He remembers how easy it was. Then he snaps back to reality. He looks around the inn at his new companions. They'd been through some rough stuff. He trusted each one with his life. But knowing all this made it even harder on Fluet. What if one of them was killed? What if something happened to all of them that is more gruesome than death? Suddenly he feels like a little child again. He has the horrible feeling that he's all alone. Silently he begins to cry. He doesn't know why. There is no one reason. The circumstances are just too unbearable..... After several minutes, the feeling passes. He wipes the tears from his face and tries to act like nothing is wrong.

Giving Fluet a warm hug, she whispers to him with a smile - "C'mon you, everything will be alright, I'm sure. And just think - we get to go back home again." Checking all her stuff, she attempts to get herself organised. "Okay..." she says to no one in particular. "So we need to see Franklin before we leave, and buy some horses? Though could you get me some grain for her, and perhaps a bundle of carrots. That would be most agreeable." Milo looks around at the group. "Hey buck up guys... at least we're getting the chance to do something about it. I've seen sickness where all you can do is stand by and pray. By the way... we're leaving today right?"

Franklin the Innkeeper
Wednesday January 26th, 2000 3:53:03 PM

A six-foot tall man with dark hair, and a vaguely aristocratic air, approaches the table. A teenaged boy has accompanied him, and is holding a wooden box. The man gives a slight, but gracious bow toward those seated around the tea set. "We are pleased that you have again graced The Red Wyrm Inn with your presence and patronage," he begins. "I am Franklin," he says, with a slight, formal, momentary nodding of the head, "the Innkeep here. A few weeks back, it grieves me to remind you, there was an unfortunate ... accident. One Xanthalos, a grey elf, and a mage, as it were, spent some time in your company, and was about, or so it seemed to eyewitnesses we interviewed following the incident, to join in with your ... group." He looks around, one eyebrow raised, allowing a moment for confirmation or otherwise. "I had pledged to you to fully investigate the cause of and culpability for his ... demise." The listener will note Franklin's habit of brief pauses in the midst of his speech, as if looking for the proper word. "As you may be aware, some remodeling occurs here from time to time. The beam which arched downward from the scaffolding struck the unfortunate ... Xanthalos full in the face. I, too, was brushed by the beam, and nearly joined the departed in a freefall down the open shaft of the Maw. But, blessed be the gods, I was, this time, spared." Franklin looks around at those seated at the table. "Do you wish to learn of results of our investigation?" He bends slightly at the waist, attending upon the party's response with an expectant air.

K'nara shrugged at Shadrach's question, then chugged her tea. Without batting an eyelash (OOC: she made her constitution check), she fixes a steely gaze upon Franklin and nods her head. "Seeing as how you went through the trouble to investigate this accident and all, I'm most curious to hear what you've been able to discover." As Franklin tells all, however, K'nara pours a glass of water, drinks it, and then does likewise with the fruit juice. After the innkeeper's business is finished, she addresses the others of her group: "Well, then...anybody here know how to drive a wagon..?"

Please continue.".

Franklin the Innkeeper
Friday January 28th, 2000 12:48:56 AM

Looking at Shadrach, Franklin replies, "Yes, it appears to have been." He acknowledges K'nara's words with a nod. At Figment's compliment, he says, "Thank you, most kind." Then he gets to the point. "Our foreman, Dalkin, master carpenter, had instructed an apprentice in the placement and configuration of a portion of the scaffolding. Satisfied with the work the lad was doing, Dalkin went to inspect another area. Unfortunately, the apprentice allowed himself to be distracted by the goings-on here in the Inn, and reversed the loops in a series of crucial knots. Another worker, seeing what appeared to be a steady plank, put his weight upon it. It gave way, and he caught himself, but the board swung down ... and that proved the death of Xanthalos." He sighs. "We have gathered his possessions, and placed them in this box." Franklin nods at the boy, whose lip trembles.

He moves to place his hand on the boy's shoulder. "No, I did not teach well. The fault is mine." He instructs the boy, "Adnan, show them what is in the box."

Adnan opens the box
Friday January 28th, 2000 12:51:01 AM

Franklin has pulled up a nearby chair. The boy sets the plain but well-crafted box thereon. He lifts the clasp, then the lid. Inside: A book with rich leather cover lies within. A folded pair of robes, in two shades of maroon. A belt with various pouches, large and small. And a celtic-like knot made of a lock of long, silver hair rests on blue velvet. A necklace, with symbols of many of the gods of Wold. An urn lies at the back, sealed at the top with wax. Carved into the urn is the name "Xanthalos D'Shainin".

K'nara's sharp hazel eyes take in the master and his apprentice as they explain and show the contents of the box. After a beat, the woman warrior places a hand on the boy's shoulder. "Aye, a terrible mistake to make, boy, but one you won't make ever again, I wager..?" Her tone is surprisingly compassionate. "I speak as one who knows the weight of an unintended error with dire consequences--" K'nara cuts herself off, smiling at Adnan with a twist of her lips. "You'll remember this one, boy, and be all the better a craftsman for it, I'll warrant." The human bladesinger throws a jaundiced eye upon the ex-elf's belongings in the box, snorting upon the unsolicited yet ever-so-accurate comment by the bystander. "Ah...um...well...I guess we can try to locate Xanthalos' next-of-kin while we're out buying mounts. Thank you, Franklin...Dalkin...Adnan." The female fighter acknowledges each of them with a nod of her cauled head as she accepts the box.

If his family feels they need compensation, I'm sure they will contact you. We, will not require anything.". With that, the mage stands and exits with the rest of the Talons. "Franklin, I'm sure we will return to your well run inn when we stay in Plateau City.".

Ingrge
Friday January 28th, 2000 12:15:03 PM

Listening to Franklin and the others comment about Xanth, Ingrge can not help but think that this is all some sort of joke. There is the slightest hint of a smile tugging at his lips and after K'narra's comment a mumbled "did us all a favor that boy did, ought to pay him for it," is just audilbe. At Figments comment, Ingrge snorts and looking at the forman and his apprentice says I wouldn't overly worry about his family causing any problems over his death. I wioll make sure should we be able to find them that they understand that the fault lay with him and not you all. And actually was more merciful than the one he was bound for should his comments have comtinued.

"Try not to worry," she says, "accidents do happen." She gives the departing Maredrew a gracious bow. "Be assured, we will do everything we can to get this tea to those who need it," she says solemnly. Then, she prepares to accompany the others on their latest adventure.

Take it." If there seems any reluctance on the part of the party to take the coin-filled bag, Dalkin will say, "I think my coworkers might take offense if you refused this." The bag is filled with 63 gp, and a silver ring worth perhaps 10gp. Not much for adventurers, perhaps, but a considerable sum for laborers.

Adnan shakes his head vigorously in the negative when K'nara suggests he is not likely to repeat his mistake. He looks down at his shoes when Figment commends him his courage in confessing his fault. The boy's face is a combination of sad and relieved as Olana tries to reassure him. When Ingrge remarks they should pay the boy for doing them a favor, Adnan's ears turn red. When Milo places a gold coin in his pocket, he takes it out, and hands it back. "N-n-no, sir, I c-can not t-t-take anyth-th-thing for s-s-uch."

Franklin the Innkeeper
Sunday January 30th, 2000 5:29:19 AM

The innkeeper says to the group, "Well, thank you for your understanding, and kind words. I'm sure the boy will be fine. Success to you on your ventures. Each of you is welcome at any time." He hands K'nara a scroll case. "As a token of our appreciation." Inside will be found a dozen signed & stamped certificates for "One night, with all amenities, in one of the Red Wyrm Inn's deluxe suites." He takes Dalkin and Adnan to the back of the Inn.

K'nara
Monday January 31st, 2000 10:33:13 AM

The human bladesinger pauses only briefly when Dalkin explains about the bag and its importance to his employees and fellow craftsmen. K'nara nods in acknowledgement as she accepts the bag. "Our gratitude, sir, to you and yours for your scrupulous attention to your sense of responsibility. Go with a clear conscience and our wishes for a long, lucrative and henceforth unmarred careers." She thanks Franklin, too, as she accepts the Red Wyrm Inn certificates.

makes sure and get the box of Xanth's things. After they leave, he muses to Ingrge "Perhaps our brief encounter will yield new magic. Maybe worth the pain. We'll see... So! Who needs to go with me to procure a mount?".

Shadrach
Monday January 31st, 2000 11:47:21 AM

Shad kept silent, wondering how the dead elf's relatives would take his death. If Xanthalos had been someone more like, say, K'Nara, the group would've been more demanding, asking for a monument, perhaps, demanding satisfaction with her killer.

Flueterflam
Monday January 31st, 2000 4:15:59 PM

During the majority of the conversation, Flueterflam has kept to himself. Being the optimist that he is, Fluet feels pretty much his old self again. In fact he feels almost better than he did just a few days ago. In response to Figment, "Actually I could ride with someone else, I'm not that great at riding horses. Plus, I can keep someone company." Fluet smiles and glances at his female companions, looking for a possible invitation.

Olana
Monday January 31st, 2000 4:50:39 PM

As they leave, Olana says to K'Nara, "You know they're all jolly nice in that Inn, aren't they." She skips along toward Drahdi's, chatty as anything and getting quite excited now at the prospect of a new adventure. "Figment? Do you know a lot about horses? I'm looking for a pony that's fairly light on it's feet, but not too feisty." On hearing Fluet's request, she grins. "Let's see what they've got. If they only have larger animals, then you can sit up with me if you like."

Drahdi's House(DM Sam)

following the instructions on the scroll, the group easily finds Drahdi's home. Its a 2 story building, with a stable around the back. when the look in the stable, everyone sees two wagons loaded up with 8 barrells each. there are 4 draft horses in the stables, waiting to be hitched up to the wagons. there is enough room on each wagon for 2 people to ride up front on

carefully examines the horses for quality. He also examines the wagons for construction, durability, and quality. "Yes, Olana, I'm quite well-versed in riding, breeding, and handling horses. It's something my family does. I would suggest you ride alone - or we at least have the ability for everyone to have their own seat. Looks like Milo and I have mounts, 4 can ride in the wagons - I would suggest, Fluet, you make your place on one of them - that leaves a need for only one more mount. I will be glad to help you choose a worthy mount, Olana, if that person would be you.".

K'nara
Tuesday February 1st, 2000 2:20:34 PM

"I, too, have a mount, Figment," K'nara says, looking speculatively at the wagons, "Though, if I needs must, I daresay that I could tie Poki in back of one of the wagons and drive it."

Ingrge
Tuesday February 1st, 2000 6:52:46 PM

Looking at the wagons and draft horses, Ingrge turns to Fiment and Knara and states, I think we should each have a riding horse in addition to the draft horses and maybe two spares riding horses if possible. Three of us should ride horses, one on point the other two floating at the flanks and rear. Two, obviously must drive the wagons, and I think either two mages or bow users should ride in the wagons as well. the extra six horses can follow tied to the wagons. This will allow us more flexibility and also allow for fresh mounts to be rotated in an out. Of course this all depends on if we each saved enough cash to purchase these mounts.

Shadrach
Tuesday February 1st, 2000 11:28:13 PM

"That's an awful lot of horses," Shad walked up to one of the drafts and looked way up at it doubtfully. "Could we ride these things if we need to ditch the wagon? I'm not much of a rider, I gotta admit. Might need a ladder to get on top of these things."

Figment
Wednesday February 2nd, 2000 10:19:33 AM

"A mount for each person would be reasonable. Of course, the more animals we bring, the more trouble it will be to feed them and protect them. I would prefer to ride myself as opposed to being on the wagon - if that's OK. I'm proficient at casting from that position - or dismounting to cast when necessary."

Milo
Wednesday February 2nd, 2000 10:51:30 AM

Looking up and around at the rest of the group, "It really makes no difference to me whether I ride my Pony Rose, or drive one of the wagons. In fact, now that I think of it, I'd just as soon leave Rose out of this whole messy disease business. So count me in on driving one of the wagons." The halfling vaults himself up into the driver's seat of the nearest wagon, setting his pack at his side.

Flueterflam
Wednesday February 2nd, 2000 5:22:24 PM

"I'll ride with the wagon. I'm a bow user, plus I'm not good at riding horses. Of course, I've been known, if the need arises, to learn quickly. I leave the decision up to you guys what happens." Fluet just waits for everyone else to make up their minds. Then he goes along with the decision.

K'nara
Wednesday February 2nd, 2000 7:23:00 PM

K'nara considered Ingrge's suggestion, but shook her head. "While we have more than enough money to buy the number of horses you suggest, Ingrge," she said, "I doubt we'd need to have to swap horses and stuff along the way--all of the horses we use will be taking the trip, thus they would all be under the same amount of strain or exhaustion. We are only going as fast as the draft horses pulling the wagons can go, anyway. We could buy replacements--if we REALLY needed to--along the way by trading in our mounts and making up for the shortage with some cash." The woman warrior looked to the wagons. "That's Milo and Fluet in one wagon, then...and, who--Shadrach and Olana in the other..?" She looked to the people she was naming for their reactions to the assignments. "That would leave Figment, Ingrge and myself as outriders--which means we should get Ingrge a horse." The tall human glanced around her group, gaging reactions and listening for any counters to her logic.

Horseing Around(dm sam)
Wednesday February 2nd, 2000 10:43:45 PM

after doing a quick survey of the wagon and the horses, Figment can tell that the horses are in good shape, and that the wagons are sturdy and well built. the draft horses seem to be a little restless, as if they have been pinned in the stables for a while. everyone else is gathered in a group discussing the finer points on buying horses

Figment

"So how about it, Ingrge? Would you like to quickly go pick up a mount?"

Shadrach
Thursday February 3rd, 2000 11:41:50 AM

"Sounds good to me. Didn't Maredrew say this thing is ready to go? I'll go check our supplies and see if we need anything else."

Olana
Thursday February 3rd, 2000 7:31:03 PM

"Well okay then," says the elf brightly. "I'll ride on one of the wagons, as K'Nara here suggested." Looking around, she adds, "I suppose there are enough horses here to do the job, and we need to be careful that we don't draw too much attention to ourselves I suppose." Puzzled, she then asks " How do wagon drivers behave, do you think? Will I have to curse a lot?"

Milo
Thursday February 3rd, 2000 7:37:01 PM

To K'nara in a slow, practiced drawl, "Sure thing boss.. me'n these here horses er friends already." Then turning away so as not to hit anyone, Milo snorts and spits on the ground. He turns back to the group with a grin, in his normal perkiness, "Something like that Olana." Then back to K'nara, "I've never been to the Emerald Kingdom before... I have a couple a weeks of dry rations... will that be enough... at least to get going?" Milo is genuinely concerned over the food.

Ingrge
Thursday February 3rd, 2000 10:48:53 PM

listening as plans are finalized, Ingrge shugs his shoulders when asked if he minds going on horseback, and says i will be glad to though I'm not the best judge of horseflesh. So if Figment doesnt mind coming with me perhaps we can find something that is suitable for my use.

Figment
Friday February 4th, 2000 10:46:29 AM

takes Ingrge to the stable where he keeps Jux and asks the owner for a suitable mount for Ingrge. He looks at the available stock and selects the one that is in the best shape and fits Ingrge the best. He then goes and get Jux and his riding gear ready to go. When complete he returns to the others at the house.

K'nara
Friday February 4th, 2000 1:26:48 PM

"Figment and Ingrge can go get a horse for Ingrge to ride," K'nara nodded as she spoke, "Fluet and myself can go get some extra food for the trip from that general store I saw just down the street and a block over. Everyone else can wait here for our return. Does anyone else need anything we can pick up while we're getting this stuff..?" The tall woman looked around at everyone in the group.
