As each of you says his piece, with the exception of Jus, The Matron and her daughters nod and seem satisfied. As the last of The Three sits back down, the Matron stands again and in a most formal tone says, "Let all those who sit in this hall and all that we meet, know that, The Adventuring Group called, The Three are to be considered honored members of House Millithor." With an almost command-like waves the musicians back to the stage and says as she sits down, "Now let us hear of the deeds and trials of the last few days. With that said the musicians start playing a ballad that tells of the Millithor move and the parts that all the groups played. As you listen you hear songs of things you did and of things that you did not know about. Toward the end is a very heroic version of your battle with Lolth and her Priestess.
Several hours later, after the music ends, everyone starts breaking up into small groups. Some leave, others move off to other areas and others mostly female seem to be congrgating around you.

The warrior smiles and visits with those who engage him in conversation, feeling very comfortable all of a sudden as it is clear that his actions toward the Matron's daughter and other family in the doppleganger battle were forgiven completely.
He is suprised by the attention they receive from the drow females. Though tempted and curious, he decides that a conservative approach would be most appropriate and does not encourage any of them too much if they show interest in something more than conversation (Wis DC 16 - amazing).

The rest of the night goes fairly smoothly with converstions and flirting behavior being exchanged. eventually things start winding down and you are shown back to your room for sleep. you all somehow managed to not forget or lay down your little chests until you got back to your room. It is now approaching 2 AM.

Personally, I vote for Floating City so that we can see this house of ours, and maybe it will take Sturtevent a while to ask us to do something else if we're in a different city."

When an opportunity presents itself, the warrior asks one of the daughters or the Matron what is actually in the box so that they may know when it is needed and how to care for it.
When they go back to their rooms the warrior pulls out his sword before he sleeps. "You never answered me, my friend. Now that you've had some time to think about it, what do you think? Would you like more powers or do you want to remain as you are? I only want to help you get better if you want to. You've done a lot for me so I want to repay you in this way if you are willing.".

Onrad writes a quick note of thanks to the housekeepers and those responsible for the rooms, etc. and also mentions that they may be contacted at our home in the Floating City.
Then he puts one arm around Nonam and one around Jus and leads them out of the room humming a happy traveling tune.

"I lost my temper at one of Nonam's snide remarks and walloped him knocking him into the lake."
Onrad removes his backpack.
"Friend Nonam. I apologize for that day and my actions. I ::gulp:: am at your convenience."

Looking up they see that Hatchme, looking much more healthy than the day before, standing just outside the entry. Hatchme leads you to a smaller more intimat cave further into the cavern system and through an area where you see quite a few of the Matron's personal guards. Stopping at the beaded entrance of a cave, Hatchme indicates that you should enter. There is a long rectangular table set in the middle of the room. Along one side are seated six drow women of indeterminate age. all bear a striking resemblance to each other and the Matron. As you enter you are waved to the six seats on the opposite side where there are plates filled with food and several jugs of juices and Cha. As you sit, the young drow whom you assume to be the eldest daughter welcomes you and asks if you rested well. The breakfast is pleasant and in reality very comfortable. They ask about your immediate plans and nod as you explain about your plans for a vacation. Then as you finish the eldest daughter catches your attention and asks. As we are new to the above ground world and its politics, can any of you tell me what the matron might be facing when she visits the High Elven council this week. It seems she has been summoned to appear before them. the last statement is said with a very sardonic and almost sneering emphasis.

There are certain to be some on the Council who will refuse to accept any of your motives as pure. Perhaps a majority. Or course, elven politics are a mystery to us. I'm certain Jus can tell you more. He's from a notable elven family or some such. He doesn't talk about it though." Nonam looks toward Jus with an expression of interest.

At a loss for meaningful input on the intracies of elven politics - or any politics for that matter - the warrior simply offers one thought. "I would suspect that Strurtavent or one of his aids would be a good source of information as well. I'm also sure he has influence there. Since The High Lord Mayor helped you get to where you are I would think him very willing to use his knowledge and influence if needed - but I'm sure you've already considered that.".
The warrior confines his remarks to how much he is enjoying the meal and the company. He also once more apologizes to the daughter whom he killed if the opportunity presents itself.

Jus is uncomfortable when Nonam mentions his background, but smiles mischievously as this reminds him of "Teacup".
Addressing the Matron, Jus says, "I'm almost a hatchling compared to some of the council, so it is hard to guess their motives. They may be wanting to 'gauge their enemy', or request the Matron to appoint a council representative for the council [a slim, but possible, chance]. They may even wish to discuss the possibilities of... well... anyway...." [Jus actually blushes a little with this last sentence]
Jus hesitates a bit, considering whether he should say this, but decides honesty would be a good thing here. "I admit it is a bit... uncomfortable... thinking of Drow living among us," Jus says. "Us elves, that is," he adds with a glance to his friends. "I've seen enough to understand these feelings are based on how I've been raised, not the truth. I'm sure the council is wise enough to have already put aside prejudices like this."
Jus holds his hands up and shrugs his shoulders. "I wish I could help you more. Our city, my home, was not well connected with other Elvin communities. My brother", Jus says with a bit of a sneer, "was the politician, but he never cared what the council thought."

the daughters nod and listen and then thank you politely for what information you can provide. The rest of the breakfast is spent eating and making small talk. When it is obvious that all have finished, the table is cleared and the Daughters bid you luck and farewell.
Unless you are making magic to get to floating city you have a good walk ahead of you.
You get packed and outside and see that it is a wonderful day out, even if it is a bit dark in this part of the heavily treed forest.

"Well, we are currently in the Groves of Ellistrae, so we just need to go north for a few miles and we should hit The Saferoad that goes around the edge of the 2nd plateau. From there we go around the edge to the west until we're in Zidiac where we can go down to the 1st Plateau. From there it's north to Jessage and then to Beetlebug where we can catch a turtle barge to the city."
Onrad talks incessantly, nervous and anxious to be on our way.

As they say their goodbyes and rise to leave the warrior offers one last thought on the impending meeting - going back over the songs of the previous night and the recently completed mission. "I would think that the council will resond well to you seeing how your family just prevented a full scale invasion of the elven kingdoms from Banrae. That should count for something.". As they leave he mentions "If we hear of who it was who created our doubles we will be sure and contact you. And we would appreciate it if you would too.".
As they clear the cave the warrior bgins to look as anxious as Onrad. Turning to Nonam with a grin "So my good mage, are we walking or are we going to be at our new place for lunch? I think the Giggling Ghost would be a great place for a drink!".

Nonam pulls out his Rod of the Cat and says, "We walk and we get there by lunch. I've been wanting to try this Shadow Walk and the forest is just the right place for it. In a way it's safer than teleporting. There is no possibilty for error." Nonam rubs his leg absentmindedly. "However, we will walk through the Plane of Shadow. As long as you all follow me, you'll be fine, but if you get out of sight, you could get lost in the Shadows for a very long time. The method is slower, but teleporting into Floating City could be dangerous. There could be someone standing where we arrive. Whenever everyone is ready, well be on our way." Nonam activates the rod when everyone is ready to go.

Nonan activates his rod and you all start off on your trek to the Floating City. It is a very strange stroll and you just barely manage not to get distracted and lose track of Nonan. After several hours, Nonan stops and brings you back to the real world. You are just outside of the town of Beetlebug. You hop a turtle barge and soon you are at the gates of the Floating City.

As you enter the Fence level you pass the Temple of Wind on your left and Gareth veers left up Sailor's Fork, leading the way to the Giggling Ghost on the other side of town.
There are a lot of folk out and about as it is mid day, but you dont even as much as a get a strange look from anyone, which after the last few days is a relief. you rapidly cross town and down Robbers Run and across Grappling Hook and on to Dagger Point Way. Around tha final bend almost directly accross from where you entered is The Giggling Ghost.

A small elven tike comes rushing over asking Jus for his autograph on a dirty napkin.

But I'd rather drink here than in some of those stuffy places up there. The people are friendlier here.".
Gareth orders ale and food and sits down at the table he last sat in when they met Bof and his gang of roughies - assuming its still there in one piece after all the brawls.

"But still, I must talk with you good folk for a moment. Word is that you are up for dragon status for the Kingdom of New Elenna. The dragon consortium is not very popular here these days. The Black Dragons is largely responsible for that since they have their main castle here. They haven't stayed in their castle in Plateau City since their battle days with the Gold Dragons. The city here would banish them and throw down their castle if they dared....but they don't.
Also, since Claudia left, the Overlords here have had less and less good to say about Sturtavent. So tread lightly...and enjoy your vacation."...

Light freckles sprinkle her face which is slightly too round as if she might have halfling blood in her, which would be impossible. She looks over the raucous crowd and then a look of recognition crosses her face as she spots the party.
"Oh, there you are! I'm Theresa Rose and I'm to take you to The Manor Insipid. A house carriage waits without my lords! Oh, at your convenience, of course."
She remembers herself and bows.

"Daphne, my beautiful friend that never ceases to give me delightful shivers, would you be so kind as to tell me how much it would cost to buy first drinks for everyone here tonight?"
When Theresa announces herself, Jus laughes heartily. "'My Lords'! Onrad is this your doing... are you jesting with us again?"

Nonam raises his eye when he hears the name of the manor, and he wonders if the manor's resident knows what 'insipid' means. He says dryly, "I'm certain that the carriage is waiting without us since we're all in here. Before we rush to follow, who is the master of Insipid Manor?"

The warrior smiles at Happy. "You are, of course, correct. It HAS been too long. Overlord is the title, not mayor. Perhaps we can bring a little honor to the title Dragon status again? So do the Black Toads ever frequent this place? Somehow I didn't think we'd heard the last from these guys. We fought some of them here once, but we fought some of the 'Real' ones out in Cinnamon Valley not terribly long ago. The cowards retreated. But we fixed the problems they were causing for the people there with the help of Valdor the Dragonslayer. They had aligned themselves with some Fire Giants and a Red Dragon named Flare. They were dispatched...".
When the girl comes up and offers the carriage he rises after drinks are finished. "I think a carriage ride would be a grand way to go up top. Lead the way, my dear. (Cha check, DC 24!)"
As they leave he shakes Happy's hand nad says "We'll be back some time soon. But if you ever have need, please send for us. We'll come.".
The warrior leaves, finds the carriage, and gets in.

"Jus, after my playful, but snide remark, your offer to join in on the signing is most gracious." As the manuscript comes his way, Teko simply draws a picture of a teacup. He passes it on with a smile. He takes a last sip of tea. To the staff, he says, "Thank you so much for your hospitality. I will certainly return." And he heads for the carriage.

In answer to Nonam's question, she simply answers, "The people of the city sir. It is a historical landmark. However, you are, since the Overlord has deigned to let you occupy it for as long as you wish.
"It's quite a famous place. There was a fabulous set of murders that occured here in the first years. And some of the structure is dates back to the time of the Teucri. It's quite amazing!"
"I'll await the rest of you outside with the carriage."
She spins and exits.

Jus hands the paper over to the tike, more than a little chagrined that he and Teko were the only ones to sign it.
Since nobody told him how much it would cost to but first rounds tonight, Jus shrugs and resigns himself to the carriage ride uptown. He heads outside and finds himself a seat with a view where he can wave at everyone they pass (with frequent exclamations of "Isn't this cool!").

Stevalis tips his hat and offers to shake Gareth's might hand. He pretends excessive pain while shaking his hand and then laughs a hearty laugh.
"All Aboard! You too, Mr. Nonam sir. Like your hair sir. I'd heard it was...to be colorful. This way makes you look...mature sir."
He turns very red at this point and smirks his resignation to the fact that he's dug a hole he can't get out of.
He hops up on the carriage seat and pulls Onrad up with him. Then the carriage is off.
He takes it slow working his way toward the central ramp as befits aristocracy. Then he is appropriately rude as he picks up the speed on the ramp weaving and bobbing amongst the traffic.
Once on the top level, he turns points straight ahead. "That's it, my lords!"
The house is one of the grandest on the level, with the exception of Black Dragon Castle which thankfully is on the opposite side of the Arena and can't be seen from here. The grounds are immaculate and very extensive for the lack of space available on this level.
A small group of about 10 people gather in a rope line outside the front door for a tour.
He drives straight to the front door past the people. "We have arrived sir. The staff is assembled."
Inside you are introduced to:
* Castellan - Roderic Boldevius - (50 years old) - single, runs the house with a tight fist, extremely competent, a wee bit anal. Doles out the money for any purchases and oversees the household. He also keeps the books. * Seneschal - Stevalis Ranier - (24) (Married to the head of the kitchens), fun, loving, practical joker, knows his job very well. Also doubles as the carriage driver and Head of the outside staff. * Kitchen Matron - Adrianna Ranier - (22) (Married to Seneschal), very pretty and very hot tempered, has a natural and some might say and unnatural talent for food. She truly works magic with food stuffs. * House Servant - Theresa Rose - (16) A young and enthusiastic orphan trying to better herself. Cooks and cleans. * House Servant - Billy Marker - (18) A sometimes sullen young man, but a good worker and very honest. Cleans the house and works the grounds. * Stable boy - Bart - (10) Another orphan doing his best to survive and making his way in the world using his innate ability with animals. Also helps out with the grounds when needed.
You are informed that storage has been prepared for any furniture from your personal rooms that you wish to get rid of. You are given a tour of the house and allowed to pick your rooms. There is a common room off the dining room, which can also be adjusted to taste. All other room are to remain as they are, with this being a historical monument and all.
(To decorate, you'll need to go shopping...if you choose to do that. Everyone's room is 20' by 20'. Feel free to decorate as you wish and send it in. Or not. Up to you. Same with the common room. Shop and redesign this room as you see fit if anyone wants to. It is 50' by 100'. One 50' wall is currently a library with a triple stack and a rolling ladder. Deep Croakwood and MintCedar woods adorn the walls and floors.)
[This is the "break" you've been waiting for folks. I'm going to assume that you take 1 month off at this point. If anyone wants longer than that, email me and Kent. Until Kent gets back we can take the game in any direction you want. So if you want the group to do a certain thing while in town, email me or post it and see if the others will tag along. :) I'm talking about group things that would be quick here folks, not a side-adventure or anything. We'll start the next adventure just as soon as Kent is back, probably on Monday.]

Nonam gets to know the staff and after awhile he picks out a room. Once he tucks away some of his gear he finds his companions and announces, "I'm going to try my hand at making some magic items. I should be able to make a couple before we have to take off again. Any requests? I intend to make myself a wand, and I can do weapons and armor. It would be good to have scrolls, but perhaps Jus or Teko should scribe them so I can focus on the big items. And yes, Gareth, I'll have a look at your sword, but first I want to try items from scratch."

The warrior apologizes to Jus when he realizes he wanted him to sign for the lad. He signs the paper quickly before he heads out.
Upon arriving at the house, he checks out his room and decides to leave it as it is for a while. He visits with the staff and gets to know them all. After a restful time he says to the group. "Nonam, as I recall you and I are supposed to attend a service in the Temple of Caeldora for her gift of the golden apples we used just before we went into fight Matron Banrae. If you want I will attend that service so you can focus on your work - if you think I will suffice. I also need to spend some time in the Temple of Alemi in Plateu City - maybe a week or two. I also have some magic items acquired from the last adventure I need to get identified. Nonam, would you care to do that or would you prefer me to get outside help so you can focus on your magic? Also, would you loan me your teleportation ring for my trip? As much as I hate to, I could leave my sword with you to do your work when you're ready.".

The warrior also pulls out some other stuff and shows the group. "I got these off Matron Banrae after she died. I remember that beautiful dark elf in the crystal telling us about this stuff. Perhaps it has value to the party - or perhaps it would be better to sell it. But it definitely belongs to the party.". On the table he carefully lays a wand, 2 rings and a bag. "Doesn't one of these rings work on spiders? And one has a soul of some dwarf in it I think, the the wand, well, it poisons you, and the bag has spiders in it, right?".

Our heroes have rested, dined, renewed old friends, shopped, done research, for a month. Now they come back together, rested and ready for action.
It is breakfast and Adrianna and Thresa have put out a spread to send you off...to wherever you decide to go.
The morning is bright. The sun is shining. The Wold awaits!
Adrianna says, "What would you like on your pancakes?"

She turns to Nonam and says, "What flavor syrup? Blueberry, Strawberry, Glowberry, Elfberry, Maple, Treant-Orange?
She smiles at Gareth with a "same thing every day" look.
Onrad says, "Suicide Syrup please."
She sighs and rolls in a cart with about 30 steaming syrups on it. "Serve yourselves gentlepersons." She throws up her hands in mock frustration.
Suddenly there is a knock on the door!

(OOC each chest contains 3000 platinum, however you only know that if you took it out and counted it. And if you did that you find out that you can only put about 500 back in the chest.In fact you will find that if you take any of the coins out of the chest you find that it/they won't go back in.)
