To Become a Dragon??????
The Invitation

DM Kent (Roderic)
Monday May 14th, 2001 10:36:25 PM

The Three have spent the last 30 days recovering and resting from their latest forays. After setting up home in the Floating City, The Three have fallen into a bit of a daily routine of study, contemplation and work out. Finally just as they sit down to breakfast there comes a knocking at their door.

Before any of the Three can make it to the door, it is opened by Castellan Boldevius. Those of you near the door can just make out what appears to be a uniformed man, although the uniform is very ragged and dirty.

"Yes? May I help you?"
(pause while listening to an answer)
"I'm sorry the Three are not currently available"
(some sort of comment
"We don't cotton to Plateau representatives much, particularly them as are sent by Dragons. Besides, it wouldn't make a difference if you were from Gargul himself. They are not available."
some sort of comment
"If it is that urgent, then I expect that they would have sent a more presentable messenger."

It is obvious that Roderic is losing patience with this visitor and is not about to let him in to see you.

Nonam
Tuesday May 15th, 2001 9:21:56 AM

Nonam half-heartedly listens to the conversation from the doorway and mutters to himself, "I'm not quite ready to do this again."

Tericus
Tuesday May 15th, 2001 9:29:47 AM

Tericus decides to let Roderic handle the situation

Gareth
Tuesday May 15th, 2001 12:53:32 PM

The warrior chuckles quietly at the apparent scene at the door. "Come now, Nonam, surely we should at LEAST hear what Sturtavent wants from us. But I would like to finish my breakfast before we do any business. Status and all... :)". The warrior continues to eat - slowly.

Teko
Tuesday May 15th, 2001 7:44:59 PM

Teko, with plate of pancakes in hand, stumbles to the floor. "It's the syrup! There's something in the syrup. It's going to incapacitate me until the end of the next adventure! Don't worry about me. I'll be safe until you get back. Ughghgh!" And he collapes to the floor, eyes closed, with a large triangle of pancake in his mouth. His chews blissfully, apparently unconscious.

Onrad
Tuesday May 15th, 2001 9:25:13 PM

"You all planned this didn't you? Huh? Fess up! You want me to go to the door so you can blame the whole next adventure on me! Well you either want to be an adventurer or not. If not, then you can choke on your pancakes!"

Onrad gets up and goes to the door. "Roderic, unless you personally want to start a war with the country that we all live within, and that surrounds us on all sides, perhaps we should hear the guy out, Hmm?"

Onrad steps out in front of Roderic and welcomes the man indoors with a flourish. "Sorry for the delay. Come on in. We're currently competing with our breakfast and it is winning."

Jus
Tuesday May 15th, 2001 10:53:48 PM

Jus steps over to Teko with a look of concern on his face. "Such a shame...", Jus says, "to have pancakes go to waste."

Jus tries to slip the plate of pancakes out of Teko's hand to start munching on them himself.

Nonam
Wednesday May 16th, 2001 10:18:55 AM

The wizard nudges Teko with the toe of his boot.

Teko
Wednesday May 16th, 2001 6:23:26 PM

Teko whispers sharply to Jus, "You leave that plate alone. I may be incapacitated, but I can still eat." As Nonam kicks him, he lets out a low "Grrr..."

DM Kent
Wednesday May 16th, 2001 6:40:36 PM

The courier scoots through the door and past Roderic, making sure that he doesn't touch him, and steps toward the table, looking slightly perplexed by Teko's antics.

Roderic shakes his head as Onrad lets the scruffy courier in and with a barely audible sniff as he sees Teku, goes back to his office. After being allowed in, the courier looks around at you all and then turns slightly to more face Onrad. Pulling his ragged blood-stained uniforn in to some semblance of order, he straitens and formally says. "I have a missive for the adventuring group known as the Three. Is this the said group that I am addressing?"

At your affirmative response the Courier reaches in to a pouch at his waist and removes a small, green, tinted, glass ball.

At the first touch, from a party member's hand, the glass ball starts vibrating, glowing and humming and then shatters into powder. Suddenly, in the area where the glass powder is falling, a figure appears. The figure is that of Lord Mohram of the Green Dragons.

As you realize this, Mohram begins to speak.

Greetings!
I hope this day finds you in good health. Though in all likelihood, from the reports we have heard, you have been quite busy as of late. Let me start by saying, congratulations on the completion of your premier task. We heard of your recent efforts surrounding the relocation efforts of our new neighbors. May your names flow across The Wold with respect and gratitude!

(In the background you hear a muffled voice say something like, "Yeah, just what we need right now. We have enough problems with the Elven Council as it is, and now this…")

(Mohram seems a bit vexed now having been interrupted by the above speaker and by the fact that you heard those comments)

Now, That having been said, your presence is required at Green Dragon Castle this day, at midday, for lunch and to learn of your next task.

May the Gods of Wold bless and keep you and yours! Selah!

Gareth
Wednesday May 16th, 2001 11:58:40 PM

The warrior shakes his head and says to nobody in particular. "So who are the Green Dragons and where is their castle? So far we have Gold, Red, Black, and now Green. How many groups are there anyway?". And then realizing the state of the courier adds "And why are you so beat up?".

Tericus
Thursday May 17th, 2001 7:59:47 AM

"Ive never heard of the Green Dragons either. Maybe they get sick alot and dont get out too often." then he notices the condition of the courier. "Do you need medical attention?" he asks him

Nonam
Thursday May 17th, 2001 10:11:31 AM

"I as well do not remember any Green Dragons. The Black and Gold are currently active. The White have been long missing. The Red were found dead by the Gold. There is no Green Dragon Castle in Plateau City or the Floating City. Unless these are some heroes that have been recently raised that we have somehow never heard of, then this is a poorly planned trick. In any case, unless one of you can figure out where Green Dragon Castle is in the next few minutes, I don't see how we can keep this appointment."

Nonam goes back to his breakfast.

Onrad
Thursday May 17th, 2001 10:37:39 AM

I heard of them. They disappeared like way before any of us except maybe Jus was born.

Onrad turns to the messenger. After he tells the tale of his journey and his injuries, Onrad asks him to fill us in a bit on the Green Dragons.

"We don't want to appear rude, but we honestly haven't heard of them, except in history books."

[OOC: This is one of those times when it's very hard to separate what Onrad knows and what I know.]

Teko
Thursday May 17th, 2001 7:52:39 PM

As things the courier comes in, Teko immediately rises, clears his throat, straightens his collar, sits down like a good boy, and listens. He looks as interested as anyone else in these Green Dragons, and waits for the courier's response.

Courier Alton
Friday May 18th, 2001 8:07:00 AM

At the question about his appearance, Alton shrugs and merely says, Its all part of the job. It seems representatives from plateau city aren't very popular here. I had a bit of difficulty below as I was trying to find you.

Now as for the Green dragons, I don't know much actually. But what I know I will tell you. They were one of the primary Dragon groups several years ago and they were on a mission in Myth Drannor and never returned. Never, that is until their bodies were brought back by the Gold Dragons. They were then resurrected and went into semi retirement. So I guess they should really be called the Green Wyrmms now. Currently they are residing in the vacant castle of the Black Dragons in Plateau City. There are currently 7 of the Green Dra..Wyrmms remaining. Three of the bodies were never found. Mohram is their elected leader, The others are named Themov, Belvinas, Gailussar, Sandorak, Aepo, and Beritram. And that is about all I can tell you. Other than they are part of the Dragon Consortium and often council and aid Lord Sturtevant.

Nonam
Friday May 18th, 2001 2:13:19 PM

Nonam listens and calmly asks, "Would that be Black Dragon Castle in Floating City where they are residing or Black Dragon Fort in Plateau City?"

Jus
Friday May 18th, 2001 2:18:59 PM

"Sounds intriging. This should give us a small break from the monotony we've had the past few days."

Guesturing to the table, Jus says, "Alton, I regret the city was not hospitable towards you. We would be amiss not to give you our thanks for delivering this message anyway. Please join us as we quickly finish breakfast and let us tend to you." Jus then calls one of the staff and requests new clothes for Alton -- in haste.

Tericus
Friday May 18th, 2001 5:15:54 PM

"Thanks for the information and the trouble." Tericus says as he hands Alton a small jar. "Rub this in your wounds, and they shall heal quickly."

Onrad
Sunday May 20th, 2001 7:23:27 PM

"I'm concerned group. We've never experienced this kind of friction between the two great cities? What's up? We might want to find out what is at the heart of this friction before we leave. What do you guys think?"

Onrad, looking directly in a scolding manner at the doorman, pulls out a chair for the courier letting him know he should keep his opinions to himself when at work.

Gareth
Monday May 21st, 2001 9:24:05 AM

As the warrior waits to hear the explaination he offers "You may recall that Lucky said there was trouble. We didn't stay long enough to find out. Perhaps we should go ask him for more info since we know we can trust him.".

Teko
Monday May 21st, 2001 6:18:17 PM

"Let's find out about the friction, but lets make it quick. We've got another adventure to find out about. And, even more importantly, a lunch to look forward to..."

DM Kent ( Frying Pan or Fire, That is the question?)
Monday May 21st, 2001 10:31:02 PM

Alton is slightly taken aback by your generous offer of breakfast healing and new clothes, and abashadly avails himself of all three. As he and you all finish eating he stands and turns to Onrad, Do you have a message for Lord Mohram and the rest of the green Dra...Wyrmms?

Tericus
Tuesday May 22nd, 2001 8:34:35 AM

"Yeah Onrad, do you want to tell them anything?"

Nonam
Tuesday May 22nd, 2001 8:52:42 AM

"I believe that Onrad wishes to tell them we shall be attending lunch. How can we refuse such an auspicious invitation? As far as this difficulty between the cities, it doesn't really seem so unusual does it? Floating City always chafed under the idea of being part of the New Elennian monarchy. Now that there is no king, the bonds have been severed, and they're drifting away quickly."

Gareth
Tuesday May 22nd, 2001 12:47:58 PM

The warrior shrugs and says "Sure, tell them we'll come to lunch. I see no reason why not as it appears they are in town.".

Teko
Tuesday May 22nd, 2001 6:19:26 PM

Teko grins. "Be sure to tell them a ferociously curious gnome will be visiting. Just so they can make any special preparations that might be necessary - nailing the cupboards shut and such."

Onrad
Tuesday May 22nd, 2001 9:38:37 PM

"Now I know how Gareth feels when everyone speakd for him," Onrad laughs out loud.

"Yes kind sir, we'll be there Gods willing, except that Tericus may be a bit wet. I may accidentely on purpose knock him in the lake."

Jus
Wednesday May 23rd, 2001 4:27:54 AM

With a sly grin, Jus quips, "If anyone asks us for a new party name, someone please cast a silence on Gareth!"

"I can imagine it now as we enter the dragon's castle," Jus begins, using his best 'town crier' voice, "Introducing the group formally known as 'The Three' and now known as 'The five and a half'."

Gareth
Wednesday May 23rd, 2001 11:53:05 AM

"Actually Jus, that is something we haven't talked about is it? If we make it to Dragon status, what do we call ourselves?".

DM Kent
Wednesday May 23rd, 2001 7:44:12 PM

As Alton turns with a nod and heads toward the door. He stops as if he remembered something and then turns back to you. I must have missed something, or maybe I wasn't clear, but it just struck me, The green Wyrmms aren't here in the Floating City, but in Plateau City. I was to ask if you needed aid getting there today or if you were able to manage it? If you need the aid, Mohram sent me with this and he pulls out and unfolds what appears to be a small tapestry and lays it on the floor. It is of the area around the Black dragon fort in Plateau city and the main gate on the tapestry is overly large. Mohram said that you should use the gate if you need to.

Nonam
Thursday May 24th, 2001 7:31:21 AM

"I think we can manage transporting ourselves." Then Nonam looks around at the group, "Everyone ready for another walk through the shadows?"

The wizard quickly smooths out his robe and then belts on his green sash. "When everyone is ready."

Tericus
Thursday May 24th, 2001 9:13:11 AM

"I guess im ready, though I wonder what they would do if we showed up late?"

Gareth
Thursday May 24th, 2001 11:50:41 AM

The warrior prepares to leave. "I would be inclined to take that tapestry with us - just in case it is needed some time in the near future. If you've no objections Alton?". If not he picks up the tapestry and tucks it away.

Jus  d20=11
Thursday May 24th, 2001 4:11:18 PM

Jus rolls his eyes when Gareth attempts to politely take the unneeded tapestry; Jus is tempted to tease Gareth that he shouldn't sell someone else's tapestry, but manages to keep his tongue (wisdom check).

"Any last minute things? We have until lunch," Jus says.

Answering Gareth's question about a dragon name, Jus says, "Does it have to be a color?" With a wink towards his diminuitive friend, Jus adds, "What about Tea Dragon?"

Teko
Thursday May 24th, 2001 9:53:32 PM

"I need to grab a couple of things. But I should be back well before lunch."

DM Kent  d100=82
Friday May 25th, 2001 11:19:43 PM

Alton smiles at you all and then says, Actually I was told that if you didn't use the tapestry, that I was to bring it back with me. After he gathers the tapestry back up, he lays it back down on the floor and holding one corner of if, steps on the large gate area of Black Dragon Fort. As he does so he fades from view and the tapesry is pulled in behind him. Moments later both Alton and the tapestry are gone.

Nonan gets prepared and has everyone ready to go by 10:00 A.M. and activates the staff. The travel this time seems even smoother than before and less troublesome. In what seems like no time at all for the distance you needed to travel, you arrive in the Hindquarter, on Cavalier way, right outside of Rod's Reliable Treansportation, facing Black dragon Fort.

Tericus
Sunday May 27th, 2001 9:41:15 AM

"Do we go in there?"

Gareth
Tuesday May 29th, 2001 9:30:51 AM

The warrior shrugs ands says guess this is it. I wouldn't imagine we would ever enter that place seeing how we've dealt with the Black Dragons in the past - twice now. Both times ended in a fight. Perhaps we should be prepared for conflict gentlemen. This makes me a bit uneasy to walk into an enemy's fortress on an invitation that appears to be from somebody else who have been out of pocket for years.".

Nonam (Played by DEH)
Tuesday May 29th, 2001 11:40:11 AM

The mage looks at the imposing structure and comments disdainfully to Gareth - as if he should know this... "I doubt the Black Dragons would return here for fear of making Sturtavent angry. And I especially think they wouldn't attack one of his pet groups under his nose. He'd hunt them down after that. I bet this is the real deal.". He walks with the others to the appointment.

(and of course Nonam would point out that they had dealings with the Black Blades rather than the Black Dragons - jkf)

Onrad
Tuesday May 29th, 2001 11:43:15 AM

"Agreed." Onrad loosens his peacebonded weapons and takes up his usual position at the party's back.

He nods at Gareth that he is ready and puts on his game face.

DM Kent
Tuesday May 29th, 2001 8:12:12 PM

The Black Dragon Fort looks pretty nice as you get closer. The grounds and buildings have been well maintained and there is a lighter feel for the place. You also notice that on either side of the open gate, are two carved green dragons in a reclining mode.

As you make your way through the gate you realize that Jus is not with you and you have no idea when or where you all were separated. At the door you see there is a green dragon door knocker with bright red eyes.

As you touch the door knocker you feel a warmth like unto a living beast but solid like a metal. each time you knock the eyes flash as well. Moments later the door is opened by a muscular, aging, bald, white-bearded, black-skinned, dwarf, who is missing his left eye.

"You'd be the Three, I reckon." "Come on in, The Boss is expectin you."

Gareth
Wednesday May 30th, 2001 11:15:38 AM

The warrior follows the old looking guy in - wondering if he should offer him the use of his ring of regeneration for his eye. He checks the place out as they walk, noticing everything about it he can.

Nonam
Wednesday May 30th, 2001 11:16:30 AM

Nonam follows the dark elf in. Taking note of the color of his skin. He looks for a Drow house insignia on his person.

(and of course Nonam realizes that it's a dark dwarf rather than an elf - jkf)

Tericus
Wednesday May 30th, 2001 11:27:11 AM

Tericus follows the others

Onrad
Wednesday May 30th, 2001 3:11:39 PM

::counts heads and looks at Gareth with a look of concern.::

He mouths the words, "Where's Jus?"

Onrad pretends to bend down and tie his shoe. He looks around.

"Nonam, is it possible to lose someone shadowwalking?"

DM
Wednesday May 30th, 2001 8:16:18 PM

Nonan sees no ensignia on the dwarf or anywhere else in the place except that of two entwined green dragons, which is empbossed on the dwarf's overcoat, over the fire place and in the center of the round table, in the room that the dwarf leads you to.

Around the room are several people seated and lounging around. The dwarf walks in to the room and looks at an extremely tall (7ft) brightly clothed human. The first thing one notices about him are the unbelievable parallel claw marks that run from above his right eye across his face to his left shoulder. You realize that this was the same man you saw in the message.

"Boss, our guests have arrived for lunch. How would you like them prepared?"

With a chuckle and a glint in his eye, Morham looks at you all for a moment and then says, Now Sandy, you might give these fine fellows the wrong idea. "What my friend and comrade means is what can we prepare for your drinking pleasure, before lunch. Also let me introduce the rest of my motley crew. You have met Sandorak (indicating the darkskinned dwarf).

Next he indicates a very slender and old looking elf seated in a large overstuffed chair. That is Themov. Themov is missing his right ear. He is wearing filthy, gray robes with dozens of pockets sewn on to them. Themov nods your way and says loudly. "GLAD TO SEE YOU MADE IT ALRIGHT."

The third person he introduces is a slightly portly and youthful Serebethian cleric whom is missing his left hand. There is a glint in his eye that leaves you to believe he is a friendly and perhaps even has playful sense of humor. That is Father Belvinas.

As he indicates Belvinas, a very nondescript, muscular human, wearing the latest style of clothing, in slate grey, steps up. I'm Gailussar, So, you are the newest upstarts huh?

Mohram looks over to the other side of the room and as you follow his eyes, you see some movement in the shadows and a slender, female, half elf steps forward. She is wearing what appears to be a number of layers of silk scarves, all in neutral colors. Good afternoon gentlemen, My name is Aepo, Did you have a pleasant jaunt through the land of shadow?

Over in front of the fireplace on the opposite side of the room you see what looks like a kindly looking, portly, grandfather type reclining on a cushioned couch, smoking on a pipe. As he stands and makes his way toward you he introduces himself. " And last and sometimes I really beleive least, is myself. I am called Beritram. The oldster of the crew. I was under the impression that there was six of you. Was I mistaken? As he gets closer you see he is wearing the worst matched set of clothing that you have ever seen.

Teko
Wednesday May 30th, 2001 9:10:13 PM

Looking very puzzled and greatly concerned, Teko says, "We are called The Three. There may be some less than conscious desire on our part to work our way back down to that number." He looks to Nonam and mouths, "What happened?" Looking back to Beritram, Teko continues, "I'm sorry if I seem perplexed. One of our members did in fact just go poof." He finally gets a good look at these oldsters. "Um, I'll go so far as to introduce myself. I'm Teko. Very pleased to meet you." At first, he awkwardly offers his hand in welcome, but finally settles on his characteristic bow.

Tericus
Thursday May 31st, 2001 7:14:06 AM

"Good to meet all of you." Tericus says a bit hesitantly. "Yes, one of us is missing, and im a bit concerned about him."

Nonam
Thursday May 31st, 2001 12:25:55 PM

"I have no explanation about Jus's disappearance. He has the ability to help himself out of shadow so I'm not too worried about him. But it is puzzling. He could have veered off and gone somewhere else and since he never called out I would guess it was on purpose. Oh well, I'll worry about it later. I'll have a red wine to drink.".

Gareth
Thursday May 31st, 2001 12:27:36 PM

Not knowing anything about magic the warrior accepts Nonam's words. "Other than this unusual event our trip was fine. I'll have an ale. So what brings you to invite us for lunch? It seems nobody has heard much from you guys for a long time. Why now?"

DM Kent
Friday June 1st, 2001 10:09:20 AM

Looking at Beritram, Teku notices that Bertitram's eyes are both milky white. As you mention your preference of liquid libation, it appears floating in the air in front of you.

Mohram turns to Gareth. Those are fair questions. Both of which will be answered. There will be plenty of time to chat, both during and after lunch. Why don't we adjourn to the table and eat. I know that any travel is hungry work but shadow walking can drain you in many ways.

Mohram leads you all, with the other Green Wyrms mixing in amongst you, to a very large dining room. In the middle of the table is situated a fruit display of exotic fruit plied underneath two palm trees made from hollowed out pineapples and assorted greenery. At each place are green plates that seems to been sliced from a large emerald. The water goblets as well seem to have been made from carved and hollowed out emeralds. Mohram Indicates that you should all sit and momnets later several servants show up at the table with large platters of food.

....

DM Kent
Friday June 1st, 2001 10:19:22 AM

As you all eat Mohram gives you a little background about themselves.

We had been active quite a while ago and had obtained Dragon status, without much difficulty. I guess we got complacent and expected things to continue to come easily. On a trip back to somewhere we had been before, we got careless and were permanently incapacitated. It was several years later that the Gold Dragons found us and returned us home. Since then we have been a quiet part of the Dragon consortium and sort of a local force for good.

Gareth
Saturday June 2nd, 2001 11:27:26 AM

The warrior eats heartily, enjoying all the unusual fruit and dinnerware thinking to himself that he could really get used to this sort of thing. "So why are you occupying the castle of the Black Dragons? Don't they have means to scry into this place? I'm assuming you've taken care of all that.".

Onrad
Sunday June 3rd, 2001 10:28:10 AM

Onrad stares strangely at Nonam for dismissing the disappearance of Jus so casually.

::He knows something::, Onrad thinks. ::And if he knows and is not worried, then all is ok.::

"I'm Onrad Pryderi. Pleased to meet you." Onrad sits at the table when offered a seat.

He whispers to Tericus, "I'm still full from breakfast. You?"

Tericus
Monday June 4th, 2001 9:39:13 AM

"Yes, I am." Tericus says quietly, a bit intimidated by the dragons

Nonam
Monday June 4th, 2001 11:13:00 AM

Nonam takes his place at the table and waits for the other foot to fall - knowing it will come soon enough.

Teko
Monday June 4th, 2001 6:29:38 PM

"Mohram, what do you do here in the city? Whatever you do, you seem do it quietly."

Mohram (DM Kent)
Monday June 4th, 2001 7:55:06 PM

Well, The black dragons are not welcome in the city any more as I am sure you are aware and now reside in the Floating city. As for their ability to scry here in their former residence, I believe that they would have quite a rude awakening should they try. I mean I suppose they might find some way, for no security system is failsafe, but we would know immediately if some one were to make the attempt. and shortly after we would know who they are.

As to what we do, here, in the city, I am not at liberty to say. I guess you could say we are under contract with the Mayor. And quietly is why we were hired.

Well as you seem to have finished eating why don't we adjourn to the library, where Beritram will give you a little back ground and history about The Cult Gods and the place where you may be going.

As he finishes speaking a shadow steps out of a dark corner and wafts over to Aepo. She turns to it as if listening and then turns back toward you as it dissipates. "Excuse me, but I have just been given a missive that concerns you." It is from a person that goes by the name of Jus. He says that you should not worry about him that his sister, Ladybug, needs him and that he will rejoin you if he is able."

Tericus
Tuesday June 5th, 2001 8:24:29 AM

hearing about the info on Jus, Tericus looks a bit relived. "Thats cool, I guess." he says to himself while he follows Morham into the library

Gareth
Tuesday June 5th, 2001 11:29:46 AM

The warrior walks into the library and takes a seat. "Just like Jus to make us worry - but not too much. Oh well, he'll return when he's ready I'm sure.".

Nonam
Tuesday June 5th, 2001 11:30:34 AM

The mage snorts at the news about Jus. "Told you. He enjoys doing things like that.".

Onrad
Tuesday June 5th, 2001 2:43:54 PM

Biting his tongue to keep from saying something negative in front of the Green Dragons, he simply nods and picks at his food, trying a little of everything on his plate, but concentrating on the vegetables so that he will be less full and ready for action.

Teko
Tuesday June 5th, 2001 8:35:23 PM

Teko nibbles a bit more food. "Ah, Jus. Well, quick exits are my specialty, though perhaps not that quick." He hurriedly finishes, ready for further briefing.

DM Kent
Wednesday June 6th, 2001 10:38:45 AM

As you leave the dining room Beritram leads you into a darkish room that looks very much like a cavern, that has been turned in to a library/study. What light there is seems to emanate from a dozen head sized, glowing, emeralds placed in the cieling and walls. Across the room from the door, stands a green dragon as tall Onrad, carved from what appears to be a single gigantic green emerald. there are twelve or thirteen seats scattered around the room, but all face the dragon. Beritram walks to a seat underneath the dragon and sits. "Please make yourselves comfortable. If you wish a drink just ask and one will arrive momentarily."

Waiting for everyone to take a seat and get comfortable, Beritram pours himself a glass of clear liquid from a pitcher that appared nex to his right side.

"All righty then. Where to begin?"

...

Beritram (The Tale)
Wednesday June 6th, 2001 10:43:54 AM

There is a place no longer part of the Wold, at least not as we know it, which is perhaps the penultimate place for adventure. There are literally 1000s of dragon-sized hoards just waiting for a group of bold and brave souls to plunder. However, as awesome a reward there is to be had so too is the danger, which such adventurers must face. Many dragon groups and prospective dragon groups have gone to Myth Drannor. Several have not returned and, of those who have returned, some were not alive when they did so. A wise bard once wrote about the place, "Welcome to the richest treasure chest in the multiverse! And welcome to your deaths."
Myth Drannor is OLD, so old that no living being knows its beginnings. When man first reached Myth Drannor, they called it "The Singing Towers" for all of the music made there. It was a city where man, dwarf, elf, gnome, and halfling, stood together working, creating, crafting and fighting shoulder to shoulder. It was also a city that welcomed the religions, gods and beliefs of all peoples. It was a place of knowledge, power and especially, magic.
However, after many centuries of peace and prosperity, things changed. No one exactly knows what occurred. In fact, Myth Drannor is so old that, not even the year of its fall is clearly remembered. For years, only the elves that dwelt in the woods nearby dared venture near the shattered city. Eventually, even the elves abandoned Myth Drannor and the surrounding woods leaving only a few small communities to guard the gates and report on the goings on in Myth Drannor.

Pausing for a moment to take a drink from his glass, he goes very silent and then in a very quiet and serious tone says, "Be very careful, for magic and spells sometimes do strange things in Myth Drannor. Your most trusted tool may become your biggest enemy, or your darkest secret your best ally. Also be wary, not all types of magic function there, but anything is possible within the mystic Mythal.

The warrior sits and listens - not really knowing what to say.

Nonam

"So why is it exactly do we need to go there? Surely you are not proposing a trip to this place just to see if we can come back alive?".

"Is there something there that interests you?" Tericus asks Beritran. "Is that why you want us to go there?"

As Beritram finishes speaking and you start asking your questions Mohram steps back in to the room and walking up to Beritram, places a hand on his shoulder and thanks him for his tale.

"Now Then let's see if I can answer your questions before I tell you the rest. Turning to Nonan, he chuckles slightly. It is not so much that you need to go there, but there is a need that someone go and you all have been chosen. Secondly, We of all people would not send anyone to Myth Drannor just to see if they could survive.

To Tericus he says, There is much of interest there, to many people, but that is not truely why you are going. And as I just mentioned WE would send no one to Myth Drannor if it were up to us.

Now before there are any more questions shall I tell you more?

...

Mohram, DM Kent (The Mission)
Thursday June 7th, 2001 11:21:46 AM

First let me say that, The Gods we know today are not the first Gods to have held sway in New Elenna and the Wold. In fact, there are people that work to restore a chastised, humbled, and still divine group of Gods to their true state.

The previous gods of the Wold were not all evil and monstrous, as current history would have people believe. They also were not as uncaring about the affairs of The Wold as historians portray them. Yes, they were distant, but they were so at the direction of The Jericho. They allowed their followers a greater degree of free will and did not constantly meddle in the affairs of men as The Newer Gods of the Wold are want to do. Perhaps they were too distant or perhaps they were growing too strong and maybe The Jericho felt threatened by them. In any case they were banished by Alemi, at the bequest of The Jericho. However, they were still worshipped and held power in Myth Drannor. Even up to today they have been secretly worshiped by small groups of Woldians in the form of a single deity known as Pantheon.

However, there have been several recent developments in the city that have become worrisome, both to the Green Dragons, to many of the other dragon groups and the Lord Mayor. There has been a sudden resurgence in the worship of certain Cult Gods. Many relics, figurines, and idols have been showing up in the city. While that alone doesn’t seem like much, several temples to these gods have suddenly appeared and are causing some havoc among the citizens. There have also been reports of citizens just vanishing and being snatched right off the streets.

The consortium has been planning on sending someone to investigate these temples and to find the source of these ancient idols and this resurgence of cult worship, but things came to a head last night.

A messenger, from the High Elven, Elder Council, arrived informing us that one of the sealed gates to Myth Drannor has been re-opened. He also told us that Woldians were entering where they were, not only not wanted but also, forbidden. We were told, these Woldians are removing magics and items previously unknown to the Wold, but most of all they have re-awakened "The Mythal."

The message was worded so, that it all but demanded that we send emissaries to investigate the problem, remove all Woldians from Myth Drannor, and reseal the gate. However, we were not told which temple or where in Myth Drannor this temple is. You will need to get some information from someone once you are in Myth Drannor.

Since you all are currently in between things, as it were, and in need of your last "Dragon" status task, we felt this would be a beneficial solution for all involved parties.

That is of course if you still wish to attain "Dragon status." If not, well, this meeting can end right here and we will each go on our own ways. Of course nothing of what was said here may be repeated to anyone.

Gareth
Thursday June 7th, 2001 11:30:52 AM

The warrior decides to let Nonam's terse attitude be for the moment and instead focuses on the issues at hand. "We will be pleased to help New Elenna fix this problem. Are you saying that the citizens who have entered Myth Drannor are oblivious to what they've done? If they took part in this ... gate opening, then that would suggest to me that whatever fate befalls them there is their own doing. We will remove innocents but I would be inclined to leave the others to their own fate - whatever that is.".

Gareth
Thursday June 7th, 2001 11:31:57 AM

After a bit of thought he adds "Do you have any information on how the High Elven Council has dealt with House Millithor? Just curious how they're making out.".

Nonam
Thursday June 7th, 2001 11:34:47 AM

"So we are supposed to go in, find out what this temple group is doing with this 'Mythal', deal with it, get all the New Elennians out, and reseal the gate to the city. Tell us about this Mythal?". The mage thumbs through his mind to see if he can come up with anything on that subject.".

Teko
Friday June 8th, 2001 1:37:36 PM

As Mohram mentions "dragon status", Teko furrows his brow, apparently annoyed, but says nothing about it. He only says, "Yes, please tell us what you know of Myth Drannor and the the Mythal."

Nonam (played by JKF again)
Sunday June 10th, 2001 9:47:04 AM

Nonam sits back and thinks for a moment before he continues his questions, "You said Woldians entered Myth Drannor. Does that mean Myth Drannor is not on the Wold? Also the Wold is a big place. Are these particular transgressors from New Elenna? If not, perhaps some other nation should be stopping them."

Onrad
Monday June 11th, 2001 8:26:37 AM

Onrad's right eyebrow goes up at Teko's reaction to the term "dragon status." He marks it down as one more thing to discuss before accepting this mission.

::Perhaps Teko is right,:: Onrad thinks. ::We may not be ready yet. Gareth is. Jus' heart is not in it. Otherwise he'd be here sickness or not. He's visit and then after a day his curiousity would drive him back.

Mohram (DM Kent)
Monday June 11th, 2001 7:36:52 PM

No, these "citizens" that have entered Myth Drannor, have done so knowingly and with purpose. And they are using a gate that was closed and sealed against such use. And as it was here in Plateau City, we were and are responsible for policing it. Needless to say, The Mayor has a little egg on his face, and is feeling the heat, having had to explain these transgressions to the elven council. It seems that these transgessors are and have made repeated trips in and back with quite a few cult icons and artifacts.

As for the council's dealings with the Matron, I only know that there are several on the council whom support having the Matron added to the council. There are several also whom do not support such a move.

There are several native groups still to be found living in and around Myth Drannor. There is also a small contingent of elves still living there as well.

There is very little truly known about Myth Drannor, let alone the Mythal. Beritram has made his mark by learning and collecting as much knowledge as anyone, and probably knows as much about Myth Drannor, as anyboby outside of the elves.

"Beritram, What else can you tell us about the Mythal and Myth Drannor?

;;;

Beritram
Monday June 11th, 2001 8:05:06 PM

Well, let's see. The Mythal. It is the certainly the most distinctive, powerful and dangerous feature of Myth Drannor. It is a webwork of living magic that envelops Myth Drannor both above and below ground. Mythals are made with any number of purposes. sometimes they may include some defensive barriers that keep certain types of beings out or prohibit certain spells or actions. In order to create a Mythal, you need at least nine wizards of at least 41st level. The spell that creates the Mythal is then cast simultaneously by the nine. As the Mythal began to form, its nine creators and any others participating would weave the mythal adding specific powers to it and determining its boundaries. Each creator secretly fashioned two properties for the Mythal and any other participants could openly add as many powers they desired. There is a lot of debate among my collegues about the true nature of mythals, but it is generally agreed that a mythal is a living thing, a huge magical webwork of force beams given life by its creators and sustained by the natural processes of its surroundings.

As to the properties of the Myth Drannor Mythal, not much is known. We found out the hard way that the mythal nulifies all psionics. Also there are areas of Myth Drannor that are completely "magic dead". And then there are also areas of highly intensified magic, turning toward Nonan, sort of a "wild magic" zone.
What other powers or properties it has, I do not know.

Tericus
Tuesday June 12th, 2001 9:49:57 AM

"Thats very interesting." Tericus says "Do we know what kind of opposition we may be facing, or is it all up in the air."

Nonam
Tuesday June 12th, 2001 10:07:54 AM

Nonam says in a dry voice, "So all you want us to do is go to this dangerous place, find an unknown temple to a cult god, find out how the mad cultists are getting there as well as why they're going there, force all the cultists to return to New Elenna, return home ourselves, AND seal up the gate. Sounds too easy. Are you sure we don't have to clip off a dragon's wings, kill a god, or unravel the Mythal?"

Onrad
Tuesday June 12th, 2001 10:13:36 AM

Onrad nods at Tericus' question agreeing with it.

"Yes, who, specifically are these people using the portal and where is it? Is there a specific thing or group of things that they are after?"

Gareth
Tuesday June 12th, 2001 12:14:30 PM

The warrior smirks at the impetuous mage. "Come now Nonam, I'm sure we can clip the dragon's wings on our way out if you really want to. So how do we get to this place?"

Teko
Tuesday June 12th, 2001 6:48:08 PM

"Hmm...'at least nine wizards of at least 41st level', you say? I'm ready for it." And never has Teko's voice dripped with such sarcasm. "Perhaps they were incompetent. Nonam, have you ever heard of an incompetent 41st level mage? I'm not sure which is more terrifying." And Teko just shakes his head.

Mohram (DM Kent)
Tuesday June 12th, 2001 9:31:16 PM

Mohram steps back in as the sarcasm starts dripping. OK, No one ever claimed that any of the tasks would be easy ones, or that you would all survive them. The Mayor thought that you were ready for this. If not well...Look, We had been to and returned from Myth Drannor prior to our debacle there. The Gold Dragons have been there and returned, once with us. Even the Black Dragons have been there and returned. But let me emphasize this, they all went to Myth Drannor before they became dragons.

As to whom is behind this, we don't entirely know but if you had been paying attention, you would know that the Pantheon cult is the back bone, spearing this drive, to bring other cult gods back to the Wold. The majority of the icons have been those of Pantheon and G'aalagos.

Beritram also mentioned that we know how and where these interlopers are entering. Now We will leave you all alone for a few moments to discuss what you need and to collect your thoughts and decide whether you are going to accept this task or not. We will try to answer a few questions when we return. Some of the questions we can not answer until or if you accept this task. Make yourselves at home and take the next fifteen minutes or so to have your discussion.
With that said, He and Beritram leave the room.

Nonam
Wednesday June 13th, 2001 8:23:01 AM

Nonam looks around at the group once the door is closed, "In principle, I am not opposed. I've long wanted to see Myth Drannor. It holds knowledge undreamed of here. However, without Jus we are too weak for this. I don't have any intention of dying. We need someone else. Preferably more than one someone else." Nonam looks over at Gareth and adds, "Maybe somebody that can find traps before stepping on them."

Tericus
Wednesday June 13th, 2001 9:34:08 AM

"I agree with you Noonan. I just cant see the four of us pulling this off."

Onrad
Wednesday June 13th, 2001 10:09:49 AM

The five of us. While on vacation I heard of a couple of guys working heroically in The Floating City to bring the separate thieves guilds together into a single organization that would have a non-evil slant to it. They were making progress with both the women's group and the men's group. As I understand it, they are about equal to us in adventuring experience. I could approach them. One is a thief: one who impressed me the fact that he was led with his morals rather than the lure of gold. The other I don't know as well: I believe he's a cleric. Want me to contact them? We could ask them to join us for this one adventure and then as it proceeds offer them a permanent place when and if the time is right.

What do you guys think?

Assuming that Jus returns to us that would give us 8. Does anyone else have a lead? We could ask the Greens if we could have a day or so to recruit some friends to go with us.

Hmm....

Gareth
Wednesday June 13th, 2001 10:40:21 AM

The warrior takes in his friends words. "I would hope we wouldn't be seeing any of those 41st level wizards, Teko. I never even knew a mage could become that powerful. I doubt those guys would care if we entered the place as long as we didn't mess with their stuff and kept our focus on these cultists. Onrad and Nonam are right. We need more firepower. I've been feeling that since the exit of Bishop. If you think these guys are good Onrad I'd say let's see if they're interested. And since as Tericus has said, we really don't know the kind of opposition we're facing we'd better be ready for the worst. So what'll it be guys, are we going or not? I vote yes but we need to be unanimous if we're to succeed.".

Teko
Wednesday June 13th, 2001 10:30:29 PM

"As we are, we are not ready. If we had others with us, maybe. I do not know."

Nonam
Thursday June 14th, 2001 8:52:51 AM

"Thieves? I don't know. Granted a thief could probably find traps. The word leaves a bad taste in the mouth though. We've never worked with criminals before. Even if they aren't evil, the guilds in Plateau City still rob people. It's not exactly a good thing to do."

Onrad
Thursday June 14th, 2001 10:42:07 AM

So do I contact him? Check on his friend?

The warrior says "So does that mean we're going or not?".

Teko
Thursday June 14th, 2001 8:17:25 PM

"Even if you decide to go, I truly think my path lies elsewhere." Teko gazes at his companions. "Truly, I owe you my life. And I would spend it again, on friends such as you. But I believe that I will settle down for a while in this or that city, tend to some long delayed researches, and see to my family. It is all bound up together in ways that I cannot explain now. Suffice it to say that my adventure may end as dangerously as yours. So, then, I have decided, but you have not. What will you do?"

Tericus
Friday June 15th, 2001 8:13:57 AM

"Your leaving too Teko?" Tericus says in a bit of amazement. going to the nearest chair, Tericus sits down and begins to run his hands through his hair

Nonam
Friday June 15th, 2001 10:11:52 AM

Nonam says in a snappish tone, "His class is a fighter? What does that mean? Nevermind. Ask him if you think he's worthy, and then I'll try to treat him better than you treated Kat."

Nonam turns with a serious look on his face when Teko says he won't go, "While I would like to accept, we can not take on this task. Too many from our core group... too many of our friends will not be there. Any replacements that we find may be quite capable, but this journey will require that we know how to work together. I can barely keep from roasting Gareth with a fireball sometimes, much less a bunch of newcomers that I haven't worked with before. I also fear that we may find ourselves with another Bishop or Saire who will join us and then disappear when things get rough. So if Teko chooses not to go, then I will not either."

Then the wizard focuses on Teko, "Can we not change your mind. If not, we will miss your companionship. Do let us know where you go, so that we can stay in touch. There is also always a place for you with us if you wish to return."

Gareth
Friday June 15th, 2001 12:20:10 PM

The warrior shakes his head in shock. "Will you not stay Teko? There are other things I would like to do as well, but I thought we agreed to come together to become Dragons? Is this not our commitment to each other? Are we going to break up and not do this? What has changed? We cannot take this on without our core group.".

Yes, I was determined to become a Dragon together with the rest of you. I no longer think it the best way for me to contribute to the general welfare of the Wold. Nonam, I will certainly keep in touch. And, in case you need further assistance in preparing for this journey, I will remain in the city until you begin your adventure - if you choose to go."

Nonam

Gareth
Monday June 18th, 2001 11:52:42 AM

"You are hard to replace, Teko. It is a thing called trust. I know I can trust you. I also know what you can and will do in battle. That only comes with time - something we don't seem to have a lot of right now. Is it this mission or is it more than that that?". The warrior waits for Teko's answer.

Wednesday June 20th, 2001 10:52:49 AM

"We will be sorry to see you go, but I can't say that I blame you. I've considered the same myself, but for now this is the place for me." Nonam looks back to Gareth, Onrad, and Tericus, "I don't want to short change Teko, but we will have to give them a decision quickly. I vote a strong no. New companions may be perfectly capable, but I think this situation will be too dangerous of a test. I doubt we will have any trouble finding other avenues for our talents. If we aren't Dragons next week, it won't be a big blow to my ego. Staying alive is a little more important to me at this point."

Gareth
Wednesday June 20th, 2001 11:48:16 AM

"True, but that big pile of gold sounds very tempting. Perhaps we should tell them they have to wait pending our 'restructuring'? If that's not good enough then we should decline. I'd hate to lose an opportunity we later find out we could have done. Let's see what Onrad turns up first. But we should be careful for sure.".

DM Kent  d20+6=12
Thursday June 21st, 2001 7:46:58 AM

During you conversations Nonan recalls something that was said during their meeting with the Gold dragons.

The Gold Dragons explain that there will be two tryout adventures, which they must complete successfully and they will be added to the Dragon Consortium. The adventures will not be announced ahead of time and must be accepted. If, over half of this current group changes through members moving on or through death, the Dragons reserve the right to consider the tryout a failure. If successful, "The Three" will become full-fledged dragons and knights of the realm, pledged to the Kingdom of New Elenna, the High Lord Mayor, and stand for goodness and the preservation of The Wold. With this responsibility comes international and otherworldly acclaim and infamy, a place in history, and unlimited opportunity. They will then choose any dragon type not currently in use by a Dragon or Wyrm Consortium Troupe that is an actual dragon type as their new name.

Earlier when the last servant came in, Onrad took him aside, had a brief conversation with him and gave him a sheet of paper. The next time he came in, he whispered something in Onrad's ear. With a nod Onrad gave him a few coins, turned to you all and says, "Well, The first of adventurers I mentioned, Dalelad Stinkyfeet, will be here shortly. He has some skills that we are missing and should complement our group. Rumor has it he is extremely skilled with his crossbow as well.

Gareth

"Stinkyfeet... Guess that means he gets to be at the back of the party.".:) The warrior broods over the loss of Teko and Jus. "Why couldn't they have told us a month ago before we were about to go into another adventure? At least we would have had some time to replace them.".

Nonam
Friday June 22nd, 2001 12:17:53 PM

Nonam relates the information that he remembers. Then he adds his own feelings on the matter, "We haven't quite lost over half our group from that point have we? There was Kibo, Jus, and Teko at that point. There are still the four of us. I think we should all meet these guys and see what they're like before we agree. If we can't wait a day or two before accepting, then I still say we should pass. There are plenty of ways to find gold, and perhaps we don't want the responsibility of being in the Dragon Consortium."

Gareth
Friday June 22nd, 2001 12:47:13 PM

"Well I'm sure we don't want it if they don't want us - or even question whether we should be considered. We would be under merciless scrutiny it would seem if that happened. I like your idea Nonam, let's see what have before we decide."

Monday June 25th, 2001 8:13:57 AM

Nonam gives the newcomer an indifferent stare and waits for him to volunteer information.

(Smiling at Tericus and Gareth) Well, there was an uncle of mine that used to have real bad foot odor, supposedly his feet killed a coup of chickens one day so from then on we became the Stinkyfeet clan. (after about 5 minutes the unmistakable odor of smelly feet starts filling the air)

No Tericus, I am of no relations of the Stinkyfeet clan from Osto.

You probably are wondering what brings me here. Well, my cousin, maybe you heard of her, Dahlia Fastfinger, well, she told me of this good group of adventurers that was looking for a new recruit, and I felt my services could better assist you instead of me sitting around doing nothing, so, here I am.

(ooc. proceed with this as you see fit and as needed. The multipost rule is still lifted, just remember to not answer for someone else.

Tericus
Tuesday June 26th, 2001 9:21:38 AM

Tericus pulls out a little bottle of perfume and dabbs a bit on his sleeve. Holding his sleeve to his face, he says, "I think that guy had some ogre blood in him anyway."

Nonam
Tuesday June 26th, 2001 10:25:32 AM

Nonam claps his hands to his nose and exclaims, "Tericus, I think I need healing!"

Dalelad
Tuesday June 26th, 2001 10:48:56 AM

Oh dear, not again. (fumbles through pouch, produces powder, and spreads it over his feet)

Onrad
Tuesday June 26th, 2001 12:50:09 PM

Onrad who has been fuming for a few minutes spins on Nonam in his full fury:

" 'Treat him better than I treated Kat?' I apologize not for how I treated Kat. She worshipped a Cult God! For Wardd's sake she was bad luck. She would sit for rounds at a time when the rest of us were being killed and comb her hair!"

He sits.

He stands.

"Ahh, welcome Daledad my old friend. I was just about to approach you to join us. Wardd is treating us well this day. So do you want to join us for an adventure and see how it goes? You would have the option to quit and we'd have the option to ask you to join us permanently after we get back...if we get back."

He sits.

He stands.

"So Gareth, now that Jus is gone, we no longer have the original 3. If we are to go on to try this mission, then I"m willing to keep the name for one adventure seeing that we'll either die or return to change our name anyway. If we are not, then...well I'll have to do some thinking. I have my heart set on being a dragon adventurer."

Dalelad
Tuesday June 26th, 2001 2:36:08 PM

Smiles at seeing his friend Onrad, goes over and pats him on his back. Then sits down to watch the fireworks.

DM Kent
Wednesday June 27th, 2001 9:18:28 AM

While you are talking, Themov steps in to the room. The one-eared, filthy mage seems to have a permanent sneer in place and a condecending attitude to match.
"SO, HAVE YOU COME TO ANY DECISIONS YET? AH I SEE YOU HAVE A NEWCOMER. TRYING TO ADD TO YOUR RANKS. GOOD IDEA. TAKE WHAT TIME YOU NEED. THERE'S PLENT OF TIME. BESIDES IT'S NOT LIKE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING ANYWAY. OH YES, IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN GET FOR YOU."

Tericus
Wednesday June 27th, 2001 9:41:23 AM

Tericus begins to laugh at Noonan's joke until Onrad tears him a new one. Then he says. "Isnt there suppost to be someone else we meet with?"

Gareth
Wednesday June 27th, 2001 10:51:52 AM

Gareth looks to Onrad and answers, "I don't know that we had that much to do with the original name, and why don't you and Nonam see if you can act like heroes for five minutes instead of spoiled children?"

The warrior turns and looks at the halfling, "So what is it that you expect to contribute to the group? And why do you want to be a part?"

Nonam
Wednesday June 27th, 2001 11:00:52 AM

The wizard pointedly ignores Onrad and offers a hand to Daledad, "I apologize for the joke. It was not the proper way to meet a possible new friend. The prospect of what we are planning makes me nervous, and I for one fear going to Myth Drannor unprepared. I would not trade membership in the Dragon Consortium for the death of any of my friends, new or old. As a friend of Onrad, I think you can journey with us as you choose, but the group going to Myth Drannor is a different matter. I believe that it is me you must convince. My choice won't be anything personal, but I won't go if the risk seems too great."

Dalelad
Wednesday June 27th, 2001 1:22:11 PM

Jumps up when Nonam offers his hand and shakes it enthusiastically.

Turns to Gareth and responds: What do I have to offer? Well, I have alot to offer, don't let my lack of size fool you. I can get into places easily where it would take you large ones a while to get in to. I can get that information you want but don't have any idea where to get or how to go about getting it. I can protect the casters and give support to our front line from a distance. AND I know the best places to eat and who has the best drinks in town. (whispers to Gareth: and if you need companionship, I can tell you where to look) <nudges Gareth> (breaks out in laughter)

As to Why? well, i'd be a fool not to want to become part of a group named after a Dragon, the recognition alone is worth the price. Plus, as I said before, I am tired of sitting on my ass doing nothing. The wanderlust is biting me bad and I need to go do something where my talents can be used to their fullest.
Plus, by the looks of things (looks around room) my abilities are MUCH needed.

**Then returns to his seat, sits back and gives his big toothy grin to everyone**

Thursday June 28th, 2001 9:31:47 AM

Themov looks around at you like you are all daft, shakes his head and walks back out.

Nonam
Thursday June 28th, 2001 10:37:44 AM

"Well, what you've said sounds like you'll be useful if we're hunting thieves in town, but we're heading off to Myth Drannor. Say we wind up fighting a two-headed fang dragon there, what contribution can you make in that situation?"

Gareth
Thursday June 28th, 2001 10:41:32 AM

Gareth frowns at Nonam, "We'd all have trouble in that situation, but the question is basically a good one." He turns back to Daledad, "Specifically, how will you help in a fight. What are your strengths and weapons? How well do you use them?"

Dalelad  d20+17=36 d20+17=23 d20+12=32 d20+17=19
Thursday June 28th, 2001 5:32:38 PM

Gets up off the chair, goes out of the room, comes back in with a Light Crossbow and a quiver of Bolts attached to his left leg. Motions everyone to follow him out into the yard and points to a tree 30 feet away.

Within 6 seconds the tree has 4 bolts sticking out of it.

Then Dalelad turns back to the group and replies: I didn't live this long without knowing how to take care of myself or those I fight with. As I said before, I am the person to take care of your casters during combat AND to provide support from a distance. As for that dragon you spoke of. My contribution would be to help all of us find a solution to NOT fight it. If we had to fight it, most likely I would die with the rest of you, but not without giving it a good scrap.

Turns to Nonam
Why would we be hunting thieves in a town, isn't that the town's militia job? And why does getting in and out of tight places or getting through locks and doors only mean it has to happen in a town? Myth Dranor or however you spell it is an ancient city, probably full of traps and locked doors. Are you <points to Nonam> qualified and confident enough right now with this group to get past those obstacles? Or would you feel better having someone like myself there to help clear the place out? Personally, I would want someone with my talents there not only to take care of my caster friends but someone alot better skilled at detecting traps and getting us through tight places.

Turns to the others:
I am sorry if I seemed to of gotten too emotional with my responses. I just know my job better than anyone, and am not over confident but confident enough to know that I have the skills to do whatever is needed wherever it is needed.

Tericus
Friday June 29th, 2001 8:44:57 AM

"Hes a good shot."

Nonam
Friday June 29th, 2001 10:56:57 AM

Nonam slips a wand out of his robe pocket, points it at the tree, and a fireball burns it to ash.
He stands silently a moment and says very calmly to Daledad, "You are correct, I do not feel qualified or confident enough with this group as it currently stands. Your skills are needed, but I don't believe they will be enough. Up until this point, I never believed that my life was at risk when we left on a quest. This time I do. I want to go to Myth Drannor more than any of you because of the knowledge held in that place. But I can go later. The only reason to go now is so that we can be dragons, and frankly I have little interest in a title."
Nonam glances over at Onrad, "What about your fear of responsibility and your desire to stand outside of political conflict? Becoming a dragon will make it worse."

Gareth
Friday June 29th, 2001 10:57:35 AM

"It wouldn't just be us. Someone else is supposed to be coming."

Onrad
Friday June 29th, 2001 11:03:02 AM

Onrad notices Themov's obvious opinion of The Three's abilities and smiles.

"Just a comment friends. History, which I was forced to study alot as a child, says that the Gold Dragons also lost several members between their 2nd and 3rd tryout adventure. So I think this is a natural part of the weeding process to achieve the next level. Some can handle the pressure and can maximize their combat and mental potential, others can't, don't want to, or find that the extra risk isn't worth it.

"I think those of us that are here now have gone through the first two of those items: the pressure and the maximizing of our potential in combat and mentally. It's that third item we now wrestle with. The risk. Can we do this and survive? Will the cost of survival be too high?"

He then sees Daledad shoot and then says, "There are arrows that do lots of special things like explode, burn, cast spells, deliver toxins, and even charm the enemy. Daledad do you have any experience with these kinds of things?"

He waits for the answer.

"And one other thing. There was a friend of yours that you would run with in The Float. Would he be a good selection for this group as well? Would he be interested? Can you contact him?"

Dalelad
Friday June 29th, 2001 6:25:16 PM

Listens to Nonam.
Man, you sure do have a sour disposition. No wonder there isn't a line of people around the corner wanting in your group. Maybe you should learn to relax a smidge before your innerds explode.

Yes Onrad, I do have experience with various types of special bolts. Both offensive and defensive AND there are bolts as you say that assist with groupmates, ie. cures, heals, buffs.

As for that person you speak of Onrad, I believe he too is looking for something to do, and like myself, no matter what anyone thinks (looks at Nonam), he is dependable.

Goes back inside and asks for a large glass of something cold to drink and some grapes if available.

Nonam
Monday July 2nd, 2001 9:06:38 AM

Nonam mutters something about no one else seeming to care about losing two friends in the past couple of hours.

Gareth (Played once again by DEH)
Monday July 2nd, 2001 1:06:09 PM

The warrior takes his seat back in the study. "Dalelad, please understand that we have just been hit hard with the loss of 2 of our close friends. This group is different perhaps than others you've been with. Some have come, some have gone - but never one of our original 3 members. We began our career together, and just now it seems we may losing one - with nothing but a note of explaination. Another has been a true ally, but came much later. He is also a hard one to see go. We do not "add" people to the group on a whim - or even in need - unless it is absolutely necessary. Well, for this adventure it is necessary. It has been our tradition that if someone joins and does their part, they are welcome to stay as long as they wish. Choose carefully any of your acquaintances you would recommend to us. And don't worry - my good friend Nonam treats everyone with equal distaste..." . :)

Onrad
Monday July 2nd, 2001 2:52:34 PM

"Gareth you are becoming a wise man.

"As for Jus, I feel he has long wrestled with his role in our group and may be in his own way trying to figure that out, even now. I feel he will return at some point.

"As for Teko, this may be cruel, but he never carried his weight either as a group member, or in combat. He would have been a liability in the places we would travel to in the future."

"I see Dalelad here as a nice addition. He gives us the added element of missile fire. If we keep him supplied with the special arrows he needs, he can even up the combat on any front from a distance. That also makes him a long distance healer which is invaluable.

His positive outlook on life can't but help us who have to listen to Nonam and I all the time."

[Onrad grins and then goes to put an arm around his froend Nonam.]

"Daledad, we've been a family the past 5 years. And whatever the worth, they were our brothers."

Sandorak
Monday July 2nd, 2001 5:49:45 PM

The black-skinned, one-eyed Dwarf steps back in as you all are still chatting. "Ummm, excuse me but I couldn't help overhearing and thought I might offer another view on your situation." He continues in, sits on a boulder at the green dragon's feet and pulls a tankard of ale out of the air."

"Now I can empathize with most all of ye here. I have lost members of my group, in fact ALL of them, and I was lucky enough to join up with the Greenies here. What you are going thru is a natural course, a type of Natural Selection, so to speak. those who can't handle the stress or just don't have the stuff it takes usually drop out. I think it is better for it to happen now than say, when you are in the middle of something."

"Anyway, I can't think of one dragon group, past or present that hasn't gone through exactly what you are currently. The Greenies did. I'm partial proof of that. I know for a fact, that the current Gold Dragons, were not always together. That is why the "rule" was put in place that, [i no more than half of a particular core group may leave the party./i]"

"If I recall correctly there was a group around the 2nd century, The Blue Dragons, I believe, that had all but one member of there group either die or leave to do other things. The one remaining member put together an entirly new group between their 2nd and 3rd adventure. Of course they had to start back over again but they did eventually gain Dragon Status."

"You all seem competant enough to me, and I think it shows good sense that you are taking time to find competant assistance before you make any decisions. I am sure that you will do what you find is right."

Draining his tankard Sandorak stands and heads back out of the room. "Well that was good. Good luck with your decision making."

Tericus
Tuesday July 3rd, 2001 7:25:23 AM

smiling at Sandorak, Tericus says "Im glad you find of "competant'. You seem to know an awful lot about dragon groups and how they work. Are you a member of another group?"

Onrad
Tuesday July 3rd, 2001 9:33:49 AM

Onrad simply sits and stares. Things are happening very fast.

He waves at Sandorak. ::Who is Sandorak?::

He opens his pack and takes a swig of "something" from a skin. He swallows carefully.

Nonam
Tuesday July 3rd, 2001 10:38:07 AM

Nonam looks at Tericus and Onrad, "Don't either of you remember the Green Dragon that opened the door for us when we arrived?"

Gareth
Tuesday July 3rd, 2001 12:30:26 PM

The warrior ponders their situation - best he can - and waits for the arrival of the other "recruit".

Waiting is Hard (DM Jerry)
Wednesday July 4th, 2001 11:17:25 AM

The party waits for the next arrival.

A spider, strangely green enters the room via a fireplace, hisses, looks around as if searching for a certain pray, then raises itself back up the fireplace.

Onrad
Wednesday July 4th, 2001 11:20:18 AM

"Ohhh.."

Onrad turns bright red.

Then suddenly as if he can't wait a second longer, he turns to Daledad and says, "Let's go outside and spar some. We need to learn each other's moves and strategies."

Without waiting for a response, he cartwheels out the door and down the hallway. Then he pokes his head back in.

With a halfling type grin on his face he says, "You other losers can come too."

He then quickly finds a side door outside.

Dalelad
Wednesday July 4th, 2001 2:15:17 PM

Dalelad plops out of his chair. Drains his glass, pops a grape or 3 in his mouth, then tumbles out the door after Onrad.

Tericus
Thursday July 5th, 2001 8:36:04 AM

"I guess they didn't want to meet whoever else is supposed to show up."

Nonam
Thursday July 5th, 2001 11:57:54 AM

Nonam keeps a wary eye on the fireplace and looks at Gareth and Tericus, "What do you two think? Am I being overly pessimistic? There is an old library in Myth Drannor. If I could find that, the trip would be worth a little extra risk."

Gareth
Thursday July 5th, 2001 12:06:03 PM

The warrior sits with his 2 friends. "I have noticed that many of these dragon groups are rich and have pretty much any magic they want. Maybe this would be a chance to begin to stockpile our own fortune. You were speaking the other day Nonam to some nobles about some business ventures - so I know you want more money. I don't think many of these dragon groups do that sort of thing - but they have lots of wealth and power anyway. Maybe this is where we begin that quest. Although, I'd have to say we're doing OK so far...".

More Waiting (DM Jerry)
Thursday July 5th, 2001 12:09:45 PM

A pretty young elven girl brings in drinks for the group and counts people realizing she has two extra drinks. Then she blushes and runs out.

Onrad
Thursday July 5th, 2001 12:10:07 PM

Onrad begins to limber up stretching and doing contortions...and yes perhaps showing off a bit.

"I have to be careful. The human body just wasn't made to do some of the things I try to make it do."

Dalelad
Thursday July 5th, 2001 1:01:12 PM

Faces Onrad, and begins stretching too. First he yawns, then he slowly rocks his head, side to side, then squats a few times. Then goes to a shade tree, and stretches out underneath it and closes his eyes as to take a nap in the cool shade.

Nonam
Friday July 6th, 2001 7:55:29 AM

Nonam nods at Gareth, "What you say makes sense, but it's not the money I'm interested in. I want to study magic and apply that knowledge. That's why I want a shop. People could come in and commission items that I would have to learn how to make. Adventuring for me is a similar thing. How do you best learn about drow? Go to Menzoberranzan. How do you best learn about dragons? Talk to a few. You can learn a great deal from books, but practical application has its own reward."

Tericus
Friday July 6th, 2001 9:47:46 AM

"Im interested in the library too." Tericus says "Not so much for the magic that might be there, but for the history contained in there. There is no telling what is contained in there. It is certainly a risk, but for me personaly its worth it."

Discussion and Waiting (DM Jerry)
Friday July 6th, 2001 11:45:10 AM

The waiting continues.

[I've talked to Lee-Anne and Todd in the last 24 hours. Both are hard at work on their characters. Wade said he was off today and he would get his done today. Just wanted you to know I'm pushing things. ;)]

Onrad
Friday July 6th, 2001 11:47:09 AM

Onrad grins at Daledad sleeping and plucks an apple from the tree. He carefully sets it on Daledad's head and begins to carefully back away... reaching for a dagger.

Gareth
Friday July 6th, 2001 2:42:18 PM

"I'm interested in gaining wealth to bolster my families position in their community. Although, I'd say we already helped them a great deal that way. But I also would like to become the best fighter in the land some day. I'm better than most, but there are many who could still take me out pretty quick. If we're going to be representing "the crown" than we'll be facing the best its enemies have to offer. I'm sure they are fearsome - I need to be more so.".

Gareth
Friday July 6th, 2001 2:43:02 PM

OOC: ROTFLMHO! I think I'm going to like Dalelad...

Sandorak (DM Jerry)
Monday July 9th, 2001 11:04:59 AM

Sandorak enters. I know you need a couple more heroes to round out your group.

"I don't know if you'd be interested or not, but there are a couple of interesting adventurers that have just arrived in Dragon Square and are looking around. They look to have earned their name if the way everyone is staying away from them is any sign. Besides, I think they owe you a debt for their lives. Shall I send for them and let them interview with you?"

He has a grin and a twinkle in his eye as if he's not telling you everything.

Onrad  xxxxxxxx
Monday July 9th, 2001 11:08:24 AM

Onrad shaking his head in laughter as Dalelad's antics wonders how far he'll let this situation continue.

He licks the side of the dagger's blade and let's it fly at the apple. (I"ll reveal the roll to hit next post just for the suspense.)

Gareth
Monday July 9th, 2001 12:29:59 PM

The warrior nods to the dark dwarf - never really seeing a dark dwarf before... "OK, lets give'em an invite. I don't want this to drag out any longer than it has to. Itchy sword arm and all that...".

Nonam
Monday July 9th, 2001 1:28:57 PM

Nonam waves his hand at Sandorak, "Send them our way, and I think that we're accepting your task."

Tericus
Tuesday July 10th, 2001 9:39:08 AM

"I hope this all works out."

Sandorak (DM Jerry)
Tuesday July 10th, 2001 2:09:39 PM

Very well then. If they are in the square I'll send them right over.

Onrad
Tuesday July 10th, 2001 2:10:44 PM

Onrad watches the dagger fly end over end as if in slow motion and watches to see what Dalelad will do. (Waiting on Dalelad's post.)

Nonam
Tuesday July 10th, 2001 2:59:47 PM

"Well I suppose that we should start off by finding out what we can about Myth Drannor. Care for a visit to the Plateau City library, Tericus?"

Gareth
Tuesday July 10th, 2001 3:20:48 PM

The warrior nods to Nonam. "I would like to see if we can secure any maps or descriptions of places near this gate we are to seal. Any treasure maps would be of interest as well. No reason to waste the opportunity... We also need to find out about how to seal the gate. I have no idea how to do that. Do you?".

Dalelad  d20+17=37
Tuesday July 10th, 2001 4:18:16 PM

When the dagger reaches mid arc, he rolls to the side of the tree, throwing the apple at the dagger, splitting the apple in two. then watches the dagger strike the spot in the tree just above where his head would of been. He walks over to the 2 apple pieces, picks then up, biting into one half and walking up and handing Onrad the other piece. Smiles, and the stands there watching the expression of the others.

Nonam
Wednesday July 11th, 2001 8:06:05 AM

Nonam glances out the window at Onrad and Daledad, "I think at the very least, this new fellow will be entertaining."

Two Applicants (DM Jerry)  d20+15=28
Wednesday July 11th, 2001 1:24:05 PM

There is a polite knock on the door.

A butler frowning and looking totally disgusted says in that rich folk type accent {british} opens the door a bit and says, "Your applicants are without. You may allow them enter at your convenience."

::snort::

Meanwhile Onrad's dagger does indeed strike true hitting the place where the apple was.

The butler goes out into the courtyard and gives Onrad and Dalelad the same message.

Onrad
Wednesday July 11th, 2001 1:26:31 PM

Onrad grins and accepts the apple with a somersault and a bow.

::crunch::

"Good. Not quite ripe though."

::crunch::

"Oh and I'm glad I wouldn't have impaled your noggin."

Onrad goes and pulls the dagger from the tree.

"I suppose we should head inside."

Onrad reenters the room grinning.

"More playmates?"

Gareth
Wednesday July 11th, 2001 2:43:43 PM

The warrior smiles at the butler and says "Thank you. Send them in if you would be so kind...".

Tericus
Thursday July 12th, 2001 7:08:47 AM

"Sure." Tericus says to Noonan. "I havent been there for a while."

Nonam
Thursday July 12th, 2001 10:07:34 AM

Nonam tells Tericus, "I suppose we should wait and meet these two newcomers."

Welcome! (DM Jerry)
Thursday July 12th, 2001 12:34:13 PM

The door opens. Standing in the doorway are two drow. One male, one female.

[This is the entrance for Lee-Anne and Todd's new characters. You two may post now.]

Gareth
Thursday July 12th, 2001 2:34:02 PM

The warrior stands up immediately and looks for their house insignia. "Hello. I am Gareth.". Nodding to the others he says "This is Nonam and Tericus. You may have seen Onrad and Dalelad outside. May I ask your names?".

Qualde
Friday July 13th, 2001 12:23:58 AM

The larger, more heavily armored of the pair steps into the room and slips sideways, putting the wall at her back. The twin symbols of Domi and Caeroldra gleam from her brow in silver and copper. She studies the assembled men for a moment with half-lidded eyes, a slow smile spreading across her exotic features. "The Three," she murmurs. "Very nice." Her voice is husky, almost sultry, and heavily accented by her native tongue.

"I am Qualde Breyt'tar." She gestures toward her companion. The silver signet ring on her hand bears the familiar insignia of House Breyt'tar. "Addinein, also of my House. We are told that you go to -- that you have task, from Elven Council. We go with you." Head tilted, Qualde waits for the reaction to her bald statement.

[DM: note that Breyt'tar is what we are not calling House Millithor. Refer to recent emails.]::comment to be removed::

Addinein
Friday July 13th, 2001 7:05:03 AM

At 4'8", and with a dancers slow and steady grace, Addinein enters the room. He takes up a position in front of Qualde. At her introduction, he nods his head towards those assembled in the room. A rapier and buckler are draped about his body, which is covered by padded armor. His exotic looks are almost to the point of being handsome?!

Nonam
Friday July 13th, 2001 7:38:05 AM

Nonam says in undercommon, "Welcome. It will be good to practice my language skills some." Then he switches back to common, "Though we didn't speak, I think that I remember seeing both of you when we visited your house a few weeks ago. I see no problem with your going with us to Myth Drannor, but what about after that? Do you think you wish to stay and become Dragons?"

Dalelad (by Jerry)
Friday July 13th, 2001 6:53:29 PM

Dalelad steps from around Onrad and hands on hips and legs spread apart, "breathes" at them.

"AAAAAAAUUUUUUUGH!"

Then realizing that this one went over like a lead balloon, he puts his serious face on and his "new person" smile and greets both of the drow.

"Hoody Hoo! Ebony folk! Pleased to meet ya. Yap. I'm Dalelad. The tall one behind me staring at the back of my head is Onrad."

Onrad
Friday July 13th, 2001 7:03:10 PM

"Onrad Pryderi at your service."

He bows.

"Now, we wait on Dalelad's friend. Come folks, there is food and drink here. Relax and let's get to know each other a bit.

"I'm semi-noble born, but popped away from home when things got too intense. I've been with these guys ever since. I am a warrior, but have developed my own fighting techniques based off of dexterity. So I tumble jump around and all that infuriating the traditional fighter into making mistakes.

"My usual position in combat is to protect the party's rear flank. When attack comes from the front, I aid where needed: keeping opponents off of our casters, and attacking weak links in the opponent's flanks so that we can hope for clean quick victories.

"Socially, I keep Gareth's ego going and prevent Nonam's arrogance from causing his head to pop. Oh, and Nonam does the same for me from time to time when I run off at the mouth too much.

"Oh! Ahh."

Onrad realizes that he was doing exactly that: running on at the mouth. He stops talking biting his lips.

The Butler (DM Jerry)
Friday July 13th, 2001 7:06:49 PM

The annoying butler comes back in and says, your final friend draws near and he brings friends. The constable guard are with him.

[This is Wade's entrance. This turn is due Mon morning if possible.]

Gareth (by JK)
Monday July 16th, 2001 8:44:06 AM

Gareth quickly greets the Drow but then gets an embarrased look, "The people in your house that I killed... I'm sorry about that. I hope it won't come between us. I feel responsible even if there was magic involved."

Nonam
Monday July 16th, 2001 8:44:47 AM

In a supremely self-assured tone the wizard says, "I am not arrogant."

Tericus (by sam)
Monday July 16th, 2001 9:21:30 AM

"You two are certainly impressive. How do you know each other?" Tericus asks the two newcomers. "And what god do you worship?"

Qualde
Monday July 16th, 2001 11:08:51 AM

Some tension in Qualde releases, and she steps further into the room. "Good," she husks, brushing past Nonam and Tericus. A faint, spicy perfume drifts after her. "Is Myth Drannor I want now. After --" She exchanges a look with Addinein. "Who can say? We know better when we work together. And not fear. Your killing of our mother is forgiven."

The drow unfastens her cloak and drapes it carelessly across an empty chair. She is tall for an elf, standing 5'2". A wild white topknot adds more inches to her height. She wears a steel breastplate hung with black leather strips over dark grey tunic and trousers. A morningstar is secured at her side.

"In battle, I fight." Qualde circles the table, studying the refreshments. "And call Domi's aid. Out of battle --" She glances from Onrad to Gareth with half-lidded eyes of washed-out green. "-- Desire leads me. Now, I desire food. What is good?"

Addinein
Monday July 16th, 2001 1:00:59 PM

Waiting until Qualde is done with her conversation. Addinein adds, "watch her back is what I am told to do. I insure luck is best served, where luck gained. Though she depends upon Domi, all benefit from Wardd." (ooc no time for more :( )

Onrad
Monday July 16th, 2001 7:15:10 PM

Onrad just grins.

"This is the most "interesting" new folk we've ever had. Things will not be so boring now."

He offers both of them his hand and spouts an...

"At your service..." to both.

"Say Hi Dalelad."

The Butler [DM Jerry}
Monday July 16th, 2001 7:16:52 PM

"Simply call out the name of the food you wish and it will appear at the table.

"In common."

He snorts and takes up his position outside the door.

Dalelad
Monday July 16th, 2001 7:50:55 PM

<looks up from his dinner table, foodstuff hanging from his mouth and splurts out, Hi Dalelad, spewing bits of food onto his plate and floor near him>

<nudges Onrad> Why did I just say hi to myself? and who let the riff raff in? <smiling widely at Qualde and Addinein>

Cantos
Monday July 16th, 2001 10:03:07 PM

Walking in Cantos looks at Dalelad sheepishly. "It happened again. Will you tell these kind gentlemen that I am a friend of yours so they will let me go? If that ruffian hadn't been so rough on the child I wouldn't have been forced to draw my sword!" Seeing the Drow, Cantos hisses loudly and places his back to the wall. "What are THEY doing here?" He tenses preparing for the worst.

Tericus
Tuesday July 17th, 2001 7:31:45 AM

"One day ill have to tell you all about my mistress, Teresalia, and the wonderful blessings she brings to my life." Tericus says in underdark common. "As for what you desire, just call out and a servent will bring you what you need."

(i think we should all describe what we look like. Tericus is 5'10", weighs about 170 lbs, has bright red hair and brown eyes. he wears a bright white robe, with chainmail underneath it. a mace rests on his belt on his left side, while he carries a steel shield in his right hand. a red cloak rests on his shoulders, and strapped across his body is a large bag, used for storing medical supplies.)

Onrad
Tuesday July 17th, 2001 11:07:50 AM

Onrad quickly puts himself between Cantos and the Drow. He realizes quickly that Cantos is an Elf.

"Woah there. We're all friends here. These are not your normal drow friend. Know the heart before you comdemn the person.

"Gareth can we have some of your famed charisma here please?"

The Butler (DM Jerry)
Tuesday July 17th, 2001 11:09:42 AM

The Butler, for once, stays inside the door grinning like a banshee. It is evident he is enjoying this conflict.

"Should I go get the constables again sirs?"

Dalelad
Tuesday July 17th, 2001 1:58:09 PM

Dalelad is a Halfling with smelly feet. Noone really ever wants to know more than that.

Qualde
Tuesday July 17th, 2001 3:39:53 PM

Not quite sure what to expect, Qualde had reached out to take Onrad's hand when the situation went sour. Leaving the others to reassure Cantos, she gives the elf a wide berth and stalks over to the butler, eyes narrowed in irritation. "Not for your joy, this." A note of threat leaks into her low voice, as she gets right into the man's space. "Servant. Leave us."

She waits for the man to retreat and closes the door in his face. Moving back from Cantos, she returns to the table and calls out, "Meat, cold, spiced." She sits beside Dalelad, trying to look unthreatening.

Addinein
Tuesday July 17th, 2001 8:00:02 PM

Looking to Dalelad Addinein is about to answer him when someone's timing is impeccable ;). Eyeing Cantos as he enters, Addinein comments, "not sure that is not rude to call the elf riff raff, but if you say so, then so say you, Dalelad."

As Cantos reacts to the Drow presence, you can see a slight twinkling of red at the edge of Addinein's black eyes, "One might be wise to learn to observe first, and talk later. Time for observing the threat that we might represent was long past, by the time it was noted."

As Qualde sits, Addinein keeps an eye on the newcomer (Cantos), and stands in back of Qualde.

Addinein
Tuesday July 17th, 2001 8:01:38 PM

"You can thank Wardd that we are here as friends."

Dalelad
Tuesday July 17th, 2001 8:43:50 PM

Butts into the conversation and says, "Any Drow who praises Domi without smirking and doesn't get struck down with a lightning bolt or is not instantly turned into a drider is ok in my book."

With that he returns to his seat beside Qualde, offers his hand in friendship to her saying, "So," thumbing at Cantos, "what's up his butt?"

Cantos
Tuesday July 17th, 2001 10:54:52 PM

Cantos does not immediatly respond to this casual banter about luck and friends..." these are Drow and from what I have seen and expirenced not to be trusted, I care not what promises they give only make sure they are followed by a oathbond quickly lest they 'forget'. With that he moves to the other side of the room to more closely observe the others. "By the way Dalelad sprinkle some of that dust you carry you feet smell worse than usual"

Gareth (by JK)
Wednesday July 18th, 2001 9:33:58 AM

The heavily muscled, heavily armed, and lightly armored man known as Gareth finally steps up and speaks, "Welcome Cantos. These drow are of House Breyt'tar. They worship our gods and wage war on the other drow houses. They are not like those you have met in the past. If you can not show them friendship, at least show them respect. Otherwise, I fear it would be impossible for you to join us."

Nonam
Wednesday July 18th, 2001 9:39:25 AM

Nonam's shaved head shines in the light as he stands in the room watching everyone interact. His fingers lightly grip his staff topped with flame red gem, and his black robes tied with a green sash hang loosely about his frail frame.
Once things seem at ease he finally speaks in a strong pleasant voice, "Welcome Cantos. Tell me why you wish to come with us to Myth Drannor. What is it you seek, and what to you offer to this motley band?"

Tericus
Wednesday July 18th, 2001 10:24:24 AM

not getting any responses, Tericus assumes that everyone just didnt understand what he said. smiling to himself, he folds his arms across his chest and keeps to himself for now

Onrad
Wednesday July 18th, 2001 11:35:18 AM

Onrad seeing Tericus go silent when no one wanted to hear about Teresalia flashes him a smile.

"You can sing to us of her while we travel Tericus."

He grins.

Onrad then looks up at the ceiling.

"Foot powder, heavily perfumed."

When it appears he hands it to Dalelad.

Then inspiration strikes.

"Head polish, glittered."

When it appears he hands the vial to Nonam.

Then he grows serious. "Yes, I too want to know the answer to Gareth's question. But perhaps we should go over why we are going to Myth Drannor as a group. There is a group that has opened a portal to MD in this area. We're going to find out what they are doing there, stop them, and close the portal. While we're there I hope to get rich. Nonam hopes to find an ancient library and lose himself in it. And Gareth hopes we find a dragon most likely."

The Butler (DM Jerry)
Wednesday July 18th, 2001 11:36:54 AM

"Well I never."

He turns to leave.

"I'll go get the green weenies. Looks like all have arrived."

Dalelad
Wednesday July 18th, 2001 1:12:50 PM

Accepts the foot powder and pours all of it over both his feet and sighs with pleasure.

Nothing like cool powder to soothe those aching feet of yours.

Leans back against his chair, holding his cool glass of wine in both hands and rests his eyes.

Qualde
Wednesday July 18th, 2001 3:57:39 PM

Qualde grips Dalelad's hand and answers his question, "Memory and tradition. Elves, Elven Council, cannot think of change." Turning to Cantos, she continues, "But we want change, make change."

Frustrated by her halting speech, the drow switches to Undercommon. The volume of her voice rises, though she doesn't appear angry. "Be sure that we want this portal sealed as much as any of you. We intend to prove ourselves to the Council, and to show that Drow can work with surfacers. We will do whatever we must to see this happen -- oaths if you insist.

"I don't expect instant trust, elf; trust is earned." Qualde stands and approaches Cantos. "I do ask that you be open to the possibility, as we are." She offers him her hand, mimicking Onrad and Dalelad but spicing the gesture with her own graceful allure. "Qualde, priestess of Domi and Caeroldra, of House Breyt'tar. And you?"

Cantos
Wednesday July 18th, 2001 9:32:49 PM

Cantos tenses and bows his head. "You speak true Gareth, I know that these Drow... would not be welcome unless they were friends -- but distrust does not go away easily." With that he give a crisp bow to Qualde, and takes her hand in his, brushing his lips across the back. "I will do my best to not let my emotions get the best of me. I am Cantos Proudsong, wandering bard." Cantos crosses to the table. "Wine spiced." He then finds the nearest empty chair and stretchs out comfortably in a chair, "Why the fabulous city of Myth Dranor? Well for the adventure of course. I have spent the last oh who knows how many years traveling across the wold looking for what the Gods only know. I wish to see more and more means traveling with friends." With that he looks over to the drow and quickly looks away. "As to what I can bring to the group? Well, many things. I can heal and cast offensive spells, in a pinch I can help out Dalelad in, well, opening those things that wish to remain closed." He smiles softly. "But my true calling is this," and he stands and begins a stirring song of triumph and victory. "I would like to join you on your journey -- but if no," he shrugs, "I will look elsewhere. I will understand."

The Greens Return (DM Jerry)
Thursday July 19th, 2001 8:28:05 AM

Morham smoking a fancy pipe carved to look like an elephant's head enters with Father Belvinas and Beritram. Beritram scowls at Cantos as if Cantos was sitting in his favorite chair. All three sit at the far end of the table.

Morham speaks.

"So have you made up your minds about this mission? Will you undertake this venture?"

Beritram coughs something that sounds like, "Babies."

Tericus
Thursday July 19th, 2001 9:44:56 AM

"Maybe later, Onrad." Tericus says. "I want to hear what else they have to say."

Nonam
Thursday July 19th, 2001 11:07:18 AM

Nonam sets his head polish on a table and then translates Qualde's undercommon so that the less educated can understand her.
When the Green Dragons arrive and ask their question, Nonam ignores the cough and answers, "I suppose that we will undertake this mission. I can't say that I approve of everyone's motives, but most seem pure enough. I accept."

Gareth
Thursday July 19th, 2001 11:08:33 AM

"It's our destiny to become Dragons and perhaps that of these newcomers as well. I'll accept this task."

Addinein
Thursday July 19th, 2001 11:27:07 AM

As Qualde rises to the occasion, Addinein moves with her. When she finishes with Cantos, Addinein offers his hand in the same fashion. "Addinein. House Breyt'tar."

"Apple, Fresh" As the apple appears, he grabs it and then he backs away and watches the proceedings.

Dalelad
Thursday July 19th, 2001 9:33:46 PM

You hear snores coming from Dalelad, but somehow his almost full cup of wine stays perfectly still.

Cantos
Thursday July 19th, 2001 9:44:17 PM

Cantos scowls then winks at Beritram. He then shakes Qualde's hand and nods his head. Cantos sips his wine awaiting the details and his acceptance or dismissal form the room.

ooc( Cantos is a elf with flowing dark hair and sparkling green eyes. He is dressed very well but has no noticable armor. He carries a well worn Longsword on his left side, and a bow peeks up behind his head. If standing and moving he carries a large backpack with a quiver of arrows on either side. At the moment he is wearing his traveling clothes, consisting of black breeches, boots, vest and cloak and a white shirt.)

Qualde
Friday July 20th, 2001 3:08:15 AM

With a slow, satisfied smile, Qualde nods. "Good: then we go." She returns to her brother's side and directs her question and asks, "Portal's location in Plateau City is known, or suspected?"

Onrad
Friday July 20th, 2001 11:39:48 AM

"Yes we will go. Give us the details."

He pokes Dalelad.

"Show some respect. We have a reputation we wish to keep."

Onrad gives him a sharp look.

"There is a time and a place for fun friend. Not now."

Morham (DM Jerry)
Friday July 20th, 2001 11:43:58 AM

"OK, Beritram. You two could show some respect. If these young ones return and are successful they will be colleagues!

"Now, once again for the new additions to The Three, please go over their mission." ...

Beritram (DM Jerry)
Friday July 20th, 2001 11:47:11 AM

Beritram shoots Morham a glare and then begins. Strangely it's as if he memorized the words he'd said before.

"I will tell you of Myth Drannor. Morham will tell you of your mission.

"There is a place no longer part of the Wold, at least not as we know it, which is perhaps the penultimate place for adventure. And welcome to your deaths.

"Myth Drannor is OLD, so old that no living being knows its beginnings.

"However, after many centuries of peace and prosperity, things changed. No one exactly knows what occurred. In fact, Myth Drannor is so old that, not even the year of its fall is clearly remembered. For years, only the elves that dwelt in the woods nearby dared venture near the shattered city. Eventually, even the elves abandoned Myth Drannor and the surrounding woods leaving only a few small communities to guard the gates and report on the goings on in Myth Drannor."

He ends his tale by telling you to be very careful, for magic and spells sometimes do strange things in Myth Drannor and that your most trusted tool may become your biggest enemy, or your darkest secret your best ally. He tells you that not all types of magic function there at all and that, "anything is possible within the mystic Mythal."

Morham (DM Jerry)
Friday July 20th, 2001 11:56:29 AM

"Thank you Beritram."

He takes a breath.

"Blue Wine."

It appears on the table. He sips.

"First let me say that, the Gods we know today are not the first Gods to have held sway in New Elenna and the Wold. In fact, there are some that work to restore a chastised, humbled, and still divine group of Gods to their true state.

"The previous gods of the Wold were not all evil and monstrous, as current history would have people believe. They also were not as uncaring about the affairs of The Wold as historians portray them. Yes, they were distant, but they were so at the direction of The Jericho. They allowed their followers a greater degree of free will and did not constantly meddle in the affairs of men as The Newer Gods of the Wold are wont to do.

"Perhaps they were too distant or perhaps they were growing too strong and maybe The Jericho felt threatened by them. In any case they were banished by Alemi, at the bequest of The Jericho. However, they were still worshipped and held power in Myth Drannor. Even up to today they have been secretly worshiped by small groups of Woldians in the form of a single deity known as Pantheon.

"However, there have been several recent developments in the city that have become worrisome, both to the Green Dragons and to the many of the other dragon groups. There has been a sudden resurgence in the worship of certain Cult Gods.

"Many relics, figurines, and idols have been showing up in the city. While that alone doesn’t seem like much, several temples to these gods have suddenly appeared and are causing some havoc among the citizens. There have also been reports of citizens just vanishing and being snatched right off the streets.

"The consortium has been planning on sending someone to investigate these temples and to find the source of these ancient idols and this resurgence of cult worship, but things came to a head last night.

"A messenger, from the High Elven Elder Council, arrived informing us that one of the sealed gates to Myth Drannor has been re-opened. He also told us that Woldians were entering where they were, not only not wanted but also, forbidden.

"We are told, these Woldians are removing magics and items previously unknown to the Wold, but most of all they have re-awakened "The Mythal."

"The message was worded so, that it all but demanded that we send emissaries to investigate the problem, remove all Woldians from Myth Drannor, and reseal the gate. Since you all are currently in between things, as it were, and in need of your last task, we felt this would be a beneficial solution for all involved parties.

"However, we were not told which temple or where in Myth Drannor this temple is. You will need to get some information from someone once you are in Myth Drannor."

He takes a puff on his pipe and a sip of the blue wine.

"Father will you give the specifics of the portal as we know them?"

Father Belvinas (DM Jerry)
Friday July 20th, 2001 12:07:09 PM

"Yes Morham."

He smiles warmly at you.

"Now children, the portal is in Nightmare Alley with the district of that same name. Be careful in there. It is dangerous at all times of the day. We wouldn't want you getting hurt before you leave, now would we?

"Once inside take 32 halfling paces straight ahead. There you should find a grate. Open it and climb down. Count the rings as you go. Avoid rings 4 and 11. They are trapped. At the bottom, you will find the portal.

"To activate the portal, have each person passing through place a hand in one of the prints on the arch. Once the shimmering, silvery surface is present, each one must speak the words "aniktos ke hereto se sas." Then you will have exactly thirty seconds to go through before it closes.

"Once through, you are to dismantle the gate so that it no longer functions.

"Sadly, you will have to find another way back. Out Portals are plentiful, but may not bring you straight home."

Morham (DM Jerry)
Friday July 20th, 2001 12:08:30 PM

"That's pretty much it. The rest is improvisation. Do you have any questions?"

Cantos
Friday July 20th, 2001 7:46:58 PM

Cantos sits up, then quickly settles back," WOW this is going to be... interesting. Have you any advice?"

Dalelad
Sunday July 22nd, 2001 12:42:13 AM

Sitting up, Dalelad listens to the tale, sipping his wine. When the tale is over Dalelad drains what's left, then orders a new glass of cold wine. He sniffs, frowns, takes the vial of scented foot powder and generously spreads it over both his feet. Then sitting there he waits for everyone else to ask their questions.

Tericus
Sunday July 22nd, 2001 5:19:47 AM

"Bernitran, do you know what magics won't work there? You said many Dragon groups have been there, so I'm assuming you have. Can you tell us a bit of your experiences there?"

Qualde
Sunday July 22nd, 2001 5:08:15 PM

Qualde hears out the Green Dragons' answers, then takes up her cloak and strides to the door. She hovers there, impatiently. "We go. Now."

Addinein
Monday July 23rd, 2001 5:13:27 AM

Seeing Qualde cross the room, Addinein turns to follow. He pauses, fingering his belt pouch, and looks to the rest of the group. A look of uncertaintity comes across his face.

Nonam
Monday July 23rd, 2001 10:54:17 AM

Nonam ignores Qualde and asks, "How much time do we have to prepare ourselves? Enough for a trip to the library? Or at least to memorize the proper spells?"

Gareth
Monday July 23rd, 2001 10:57:19 AM

Gareth watches Qualde move to the door and says, "Don't be too hasty. Plans must be made. I learned this the hard way. Also, you are not the leader of this group. You're going to have to get used to following rather than commanding pretty quickly."

Onrad
Monday July 23rd, 2001 3:44:34 PM

Onrad's questions and comments having already been voiced, he remains quiet.

Mohram (DM Jerry)
Monday July 23rd, 2001 3:54:49 PM

"As you may know, we died there. Remained dead for nearly 20 years until the Gold brought our bodies home. I wouldn't be surprised if there are dragons by the dozen there. And creatures worse, which we discovered. There are the Pha-rimm or something like that who are mages of extremely high level who pass around looking like whirlwinds or something. Never saw one.

"I know the gold faced 4 dragons there all in one trip once if you count that one of them had two heads. Monsters seem to feed off of each other there at an incredible rate. If you get in combat in that area, kill quickly and move on before a "larger fish" comes. And there is always a larger fish.

"Plan on getting in and out without resting if you can. Rest doesn't come easily and attempting to rest, instead of running for a portal, is what killed us.

"As far as magic goes, the mythal is unsteady or at least it was. Sometimes it creates non-magic zones where no magic works, or perhaps where just spells don't work. Other times, the magic in the air may be thick and cause spells to backfire or do 3 times the normal damage. It's all relative. And changing. And dangerous. The secrets of its construction and what types of things it is magicked to do have been lost with the passing of time.

"However, any lore in the multiverse can be found there. And treasure to rule a kingdom. And monsters galore to conquer. If you can get in, accomplish your purposes, and get out alive.

"We wish you the luck of Wardd, the courage of Domi, and the wisdom of Alemi.

"The sooner you leave the hotter the trail of the cultists will be, if such clues exist."

Beritrum (DM Jerry)
Monday July 23rd, 2001 3:58:20 PM

"To accept the mission you must leave before the sun rises tomorrow. Otherwise we must go ourselves."

Nonam
Monday July 23rd, 2001 5:37:17 PM

Nonam nods after Beritram speaks, "Before the sun rises... plenty of time for a few quick things."
Then he turns to Gareth, "I would suggest we arm ourselves for significant combat, and we need items or spells to substitute for sleep. Tericus and I don't have time for the library, but perhaps we could make quick visits to the Red Wyrms and Gold Dragons, if any are in town that is. They might not know much more than Mohram, but any extra knowledge might help."

Gareth
Monday July 23rd, 2001 5:41:48 PM

After listening to Nonam, Gareth addresses the group, "Nonam's plan sounds fair, but we must hurry. We should split into two group to make it fast. Nonam, Onrad, Daledad, and Cantos can try to meet the Red Wyrms. Tericus, Addinein, Qualde, and I can try Gold Dragon Castle. Then in an hour, we can meet in front of the Catacombs and make any purchases we might need."

Dalelad
Monday July 23rd, 2001 9:04:44 PM

"If items you need, I have an inside man in the Catacombs who can get us through a lot faster than the normal means. Give me a list of items needed, and some money, (I'm broke), and I'll get us the stuff by nightfall.

Cantos
Tuesday July 24th, 2001 12:20:43 AM

Cantos stands up, streches quickly and slides his pack on. He adjusts his bow and sword to their proper postions. " If we must hurry I am ready."

Tericus
Tuesday July 24th, 2001 9:16:56 AM

"Let us make haste, then. But don't forget, we'll need to rest a bit in order for us to stock up on spells we may need."

Addinein
Tuesday July 24th, 2001 9:18:59 AM

Seeing that there is some planning going on, Addinein timidly smiles.

Addinein nods his head in acknowledgement of his assigning.

As his sister gets told what to do, he goes back to standing on egg shells, and waits to see her reaction.

Qualde
Tuesday July 24th, 2001 9:35:23 AM

Qualde narrows reddening eyes at Gareth, but nods. While she waits for their group to gather for the trip to Gold Dragon Castle, she throws on her cloak and pulls the deep hood forward to protect her skin from the sun's harsh rays.

When Tericus joins them, she switches to undercommon to ask him, "Will humans want to -- sleep, before we go? If we wait until dawn to leave, I will meditate with specially prepared incense. It will allow me to cast the spells my gods grant to great effect. Would you join me? Either way, we should plan together which spells we will request."

Tericus
Wednesday July 25th, 2001 9:21:22 AM

"I'm not sure how much time we will have to rest, but yes, we will have time to meditate. I've never used incense before, but I'll be glad to join you." Tericus says back in undercommon, pleased to have the company. "What is your expertise in casting? I, myself, excel at the healing arts."

Nonam
Wednesday July 25th, 2001 10:35:23 AM

"You know how to get to Gold Dragon Castle, right? It's just off of Adventurer's Square, near Star Tower."

Jandar (DM Jerry)
Wednesday July 25th, 2001 12:48:05 PM

The Cleric of Domi and member of the Gold Dragons greets you at the door.

"Yes we've been there, but I haven't. Valdor always went and I always had duties. So I can't tell you much more than you know. I know most groups approach the place from the south for some strange reason. Maybe most of the portals are there, I don't know.

"Once inside, get in and do your business. Then get out. If you have to rest, do so away from the city. There are allies to be found, but they are rare and far between. They also don't trust or even like treasure hunters. So present yourselves as being there on behalf of the elven council to close some portals and that might help.

"Mordrid always got the feeling that the place existed out of time and in the past somehow. He said it seemed removed from all else. That's why it takes a portal to get there.

"Good luck."

Icobod (DM Jerry)
Wednesday July 25th, 2001 12:57:56 PM

"Hi! I'm Icobod, otherwise known as Fireball. I lead the Red Dragons. We're pretty much all over the place today and I got stuck holding the fort down.

"Myth Drannor huh? I fireballed my first dragon there! Cool place! Lots of dragons! I saw a flight of one there once. Seven of them in formation.

"Not all your problems will be from evil monsters. There are fairy and leprechauns and all that too. Fireballs don't work on them too well. All the ones I combined with Dispel Magic properties did ok.

"Never stay in a location where there has been a fight for long. Scavenger monsters will arrive soon after to look for food and loot. Keep battles moving so that additional monsters, we call them adds, won't aggr onto your bod. Finish your fights fast. If you can disengage always do so. Setting the monsters against each other and skipping the scene works well at times.

"Tell your mages to save spells for emergencies. Clerics too. Once you're out, you're out. Heal from scrolls and potions. Carry both. Scrolls burn and potions break. You must run and sneak at the same time. Avoid the monsters. If they come for you distract them and skidoot. Just because a dragon is there, doesn't mean you have to fight it.

"Try throwing some gp and gems into the street where monsters are fighting. That works sometimes for the stupid greedy ones.

"Here take 3 of my Green Fireball Scrolls. They do max damage and are cast at 18th level. Good luck."

Preparation [DM Jerry]
Wednesday July 25th, 2001 1:00:34 PM

And so our brave heroes prepare for their final dragonhood task after accepting the mission. Soon they will be off again fighting evil, in the form of cult activity, and seeking treasure to fund their ventures and knowledge to increase their chances of survival. We wish them well.

Dalelad
Wednesday July 25th, 2001 1:15:56 PM

Awaits for everyone outside of the Catacombs. itting on a bench, pouring foot powder on them. Bags packed and on the ground next to him, crossbow lovingly set beside him on the bench.

Cantos
Wednesday July 25th, 2001 1:32:54 PM

Cantos stretches out next to Dalelad, then realizes that his head is a little too near to Dalelad's feet. He turns around and awaits everyone else.

Gareth (Played again by DEH - thanks JK!)
Wednesday July 25th, 2001 2:42:25 PM

The warrior thanks Jandar for his words and leads his group over to The Catacombs. "Dalelad, I would much appreciate any inside help you can give to this place. Seems to me they make a bit too much money on magic items. Hopefully by the time we return from this mission we'll not have need to worry about it any more. But until then..."

As he gets used to having the two drow members with him, he says, "I am glad you came to us. We can use your help. I hope you will find this adventure with us to be rewarding. The fact that you were part of the relocation effort - and came through it successfully is all the proof I need of your ability and your mettle. I am confident that you would not have been sent unless you had the confidence of your family - a thing not easily accomplished."

Qualde
Wednesday July 25th, 2001 2:56:55 PM

"Mmm." The drow's smokey voice rolls out from the depths of her hood. "Our thanks, Jandar. Domi keep." She follows Tericus and Gareth over to the Catacombs, mulling over the spell problem and discussing it with the other priest. "I have little gold to contribute for purchases, though I have some useful scrolls that I hope we will not need."

Tericus
Thursday July 26th, 2001 6:20:28 AM

"I have some money Qualde. I had planned on buying some scrolls for emergencey healing and poisioning, but if you think you need something then you are welcome to borrow whatever you need."

Addinein
Thursday July 26th, 2001 6:58:59 AM

Addinein tilts his head towards Jandar. Following the others, he listens to the others make plans.
"I have some gold myself to help out"

Nonam
Thursday July 26th, 2001 10:49:52 AM

Nonam tucks the green fireball spells into one of his robe pockets, "Many thanks, Fireball."

When Nonam arrives arrives at the Catacombs, he starts trying to organize things again, "Before we go, I need to cast a contingency spell on myself. It would be helpful if we could rest long enough for me to memorize a new set of spells after that. I assume that the other casters feel the same way? It's still early in the day, we could rest now and head out before the sun comes up. Perhaps then we can avoid trouble in the Nightmare District. Anyone else have any thoughts on the matter."

The wizard doesn't really wait for an answer before he continues, "Now, how are we fixed for healing. I have five potions of Cure Serious and a few applications of ointment that will remove diseases. I also have a resurrection scroll should it come to that. I don't really think I need to buy anything, but I'm sure I'll think of something when some monster is eating my leg off."

Onrad
Thursday July 26th, 2001 4:27:09 PM

Onrad arrives at the catacombs.

"I'm loaded for bear now a to what I need for the trip. I"ll go ahead and book us a suite at the Adventurer's Repose. Head there after you shop. We'll get our studying done and early to bed. We should head out rested a couple of hours before dawn. Does that sound ok?"

Onrad heads to the inn and reserves a suite for the night. He asks for supper to be delivered to the room and for a hearty breakfast about 3 hours before dawn.

Then he selects a room in the suite and begins to stretch and prepare in earnest arranging his backpack and potions for maximum efficiency. Nothing gets moved around, but the exercise helps him prepare mentally.

Shopping and Resting (Dm Jerry)
Thursday July 26th, 2001 4:32:25 PM

Our heroes complete their shopping without incident. The afternoon sun blazes.

A few young mages across the street at the Star Tower, point and stare.

"Hey Ruffianof! That's The Three! Wow. I hear they are totally responsible for saving the Drow from extinction. They totally destroyed the #1 house a few weeks ago. Total extinction for that house. Total deliverance for the good house. Hey look! A couple of drow are with them! How cool!"

Ruffianof says, "I hate elves."

Qualde
Thursday July 26th, 2001 5:14:11 PM

Having no purchases to make, Qualde nods at Nonam. "I rest now, meditate tonight. Tericus -- I wake you for that?" Having no purchases to make, the priestess follows Onrad to the inn, where she quickly claims one of the suite's rooms. She falls into a restful trance until sunset.

Gareth
Thursday July 26th, 2001 6:00:40 PM

The warrior offers his list of existing items. "I have 2 potions of Cure Moderate Wounds, 21 potions of Cure Serious Wounds, 1 potion of Lesser Restoration, 1 potion of Neutralize Poison, 1 ring of Regeneration currently carried by Onrad - in case Nonam wants his leg back, and 1 Raise Dead scroll. I also carry several items owned collectively by the group: 5 Potions of Cure Serious Wounds and 6 Potions of Bull's Strength [+5 Str]. I would say I am ready...". He follows the other to the inn when he is sure the others who need to buy something have enough cash to cover everything.

There he eats heavily and sleeps.

Cantos
Thursday July 26th, 2001 8:21:22 PM

Cantos walks quilckly out of the Catacombs" Sorry I slipped out I had to buy a few things, just in case we need it I bought 15 potions of Cure Moderate Wounds I really dont feel like dying." This said he heads to the inn and eats a hearty dinner. After which he heads upstairs to repack his backpack and get a goodnights sleep

Nonam
Thursday July 26th, 2001 10:04:48 PM

Nonam casts Contingency coupled with a See Invisibility spell on himself. The spell will be triggered if any invisible creature (other than a party member) comes within 100 feet of Nonam.

After casting, he rests and memorizes spells on waking.

Dalelad
Friday July 27th, 2001 1:23:08 AM

Eats well, then goes upstairs to pack his bags as well. Making sure everything is well within reach. He checks, and double checks his items then scoots downstairs and heads to any temple of good and stays there a few hours praying. Then returns, and gets a few hours shut eye before departing.

Tericus
Friday July 27th, 2001 7:26:37 AM

"Sure thing, Qualde. Let me finish up here, then ill be at the inn." Tericus says then adds. "I dont have that many healing items, but my entire selection of spells can be used to heal wounds, plus I have my own ability as a healer." then Tericus heads into the Catacombs

Addinein
Friday July 27th, 2001 8:58:48 AM

DM Dave [addemdum by DM Jerry]
Friday July 27th, 2001 8:59:05 AM

[Hello All! I'll be picking up the reins come next Monday. At your earliest convenience, please forward a copy of your current character sheet (including supplies) to gordon_hill@mindspring.com Thanks and Good Day!]

[I'll take care of this. As I have been receiving sheets from at least one of you daily this week, I chose to wait until the weekend to send to avoid sending and resending and resending sheets to David and cluttering up his box. Any sheets to be sent in after this posting need to be sent to him as well as me for a transitional period of a few days. Then just to him once he's in the saddle.]

Rest before the Storm (DM Jerry)
Saturday July 28th, 2001 12:06:30 AM

Boy does it feel early.

Dalelad
Monday July 30th, 2001 1:52:58 AM

Dalelad finds Cantos and hands him a scroll: Keen Edge.

Here, in case you don't have this in your spell book. It would be wonderful if you could memorize it for me, then you could cast it on my bolts and i'd be better in combat.

Then wanders off to his room to sleep.
