Vorelle d20+10=28 d20+1=18 Friday February 29th, 2008 1:11:51 AM
Vorelle easily keeps her feet when the blast erupts [Reflex save 28]. She does what she can to help the others stay on their feet. [Strength check 18, if applicable].
Oni 51/79 HP 17 AC Friday February 29th, 2008 5:13:10 AM
The only thing on Oni's mind is too get his load to the ship. Looking around it shouldnt be far. When within reach he will drop the cargo and turn and fly back towards the ship, in case he needs to swwop down and get the others.
%hinking about it, they all should have jumped on his back at once. No guess not that would have been too much weight to fly. But he can get them now.
Vauhwyt d20+13=18 d8+1=9 Friday February 29th, 2008 5:48:25 AM
The liontaur laughs as the ship blows a gasket.
She holds tight to Darid, and in fact gives him an extra squeeze as she is towed. Grapple check 18 for 9 hp damage.
Theodore HP 33/33 AC 20 (mage armor, shield, stoneskin, dodge vs lizardman) d20+4=19 Friday February 29th, 2008 9:16:14 AM
Theodore is just about to begin the incantation to take the rest of them from the ship when the explosion shakes the boat. He slides a bit, but manages to catch and steady himself on the nimbler Vorelle. (Reflex 19)
Making sure both Vorelle and Berlon are still in contact, he begins to speak:
I want a door here, I want a door there To go from here to there through thinnest air
(Casts Dimension Door to take the three of them to their own ship.)
If Berlon failed to keep his feet, he goes after the stumbling gnome, "Keep a hold of me, Vorelle," he hollers.
Reaching the gnome, he bends over into contact and casts the spell.
Great Balls of Fire - DM Donna d20=18 Friday February 29th, 2008 11:11:28 AM
Oni tows Vauhwyt and her bundle of "joy" over towards the "rocks and water plants" that he knows is the illusion covering their own ship--this is confirmed when the "rocks and water plants" suddenly speaks in a hushed voice: "Here they come! Get ready to haul butt!"
Aboard the violently listing Crimson Skull, Theo, Vorelle and Berlon manage to maintain their balance. Theo casts his spell, and a doorway through which they can see the true deck of their own ship appears.
The halflings on the ship are all still looking at the pretty colors, although there are shouts and the sound of pounding feet from the fore of the ship, and the telltale billows of smoke (and scent of burning wood) coming from belowdecks now.

(OOC - I believe the spell just takes us to the location I want to go to, instantly. I don't think there's an actual "door", despite the spell's name. Just want to make sure in case something bad happens because we were onboard the sinking ship too long or bad guys used the "door" to come after us.Dimension Door)
Endgame - DM Donna Friday February 29th, 2008 11:08:15 PM
Theo's spell whisks away the last three members of the Dark Horse Guild just as the Crimson Skull begins to burn with with a vengeance. By the time the non-Fascinated crew members have an inkling of the problem, the ship is all but destroyed.
The party returns to their own ship, which is very hastily sailed away back to Dirt City, where Lian Kent contacts the enemy forces trying to attack the city. Thanks to the fact that they can prove that Darid Skull has been captured by the Dark Horse Guild, the enemy forces beat a hasty retreat, disappearing almost as fast as they'd come.
As a result, the Dark Horse Guild receives the highest honors Dirt City can accord them--the Golden Lockpicks to the City--presented by none other than the newest Prince of Thieves...Lian Kent, who hands over the award with the following words:
It's been an honor and a pleasure to be associated with you, members of the Dark Horse Guild. I'm personally touched and pleased to count myself as one small part of your history, and it is my sincerest wish that you know glory and honor from this day forward.
Selah, Dark Horse Guild...it's been an honor and a pleasure for this humble narrator as well.

Oni 51/79 HP 17 AC Saturday March 1st, 2008 2:56:56 AM
Oni disembarks the ship at Dirt City and thanks Tara and the crew for a job well done. After the ceremony with the new Prince Oni exits the room, and stands, pondering. Now what for the drowtaur. It seems the readoning for coming here had gotten all jumbeled up. He no longer had the fervent belief of what was.
As the other file out he looks at each, feeling a sense of familiarity, of family. Stronger yet was the pull of the wild. Although he had succeeded in the latest mission, he was afraid he could not stay. There was something else out there for him. Longevity would allow his path to cross with these adventures again, he prayed the Gods of fate it would be true.
Simply, Oni says his goodbyes. Oni promises to return to help them if they had need. For now, he needed to find out wh7y the mark of the drow was placed upon him. And so he departs Dirt City.
----All, thanks so much for your friendship, and patience with me. I wish you all well, and hope to cross your path in the future. DAVE
Vauhwyt and Mookie Monday March 3rd, 2008 6:58:31 AM
Vauhwyt basks in the glory of being a true hero -- for a couple days anyway. But her mood is dampened by a feeling of change. Berln occupied with his shop. Rose with her family. Dietrich with the community center. Olyn with the Temple, Oni with his roots. Only Theo and Vorelle have been truly steadfast. To Vauhwyt, at the top of this honor, it feels like this is the end of the Dark Horse Guild.
Liam's words have an air of finality as well.
Mookie pecks the top of his mistress's head. "Boss! Boss! Stop standing there like a cow! It's your turn to talk!"
"Oh! Oh! Oh, thank you, Mookie."
Vauhwyt steps forward, accepts her golden lockpicks, and takes a deep breath.
"Ever since I was a cub, I've wanted to be a hero, to take care of people who need help, and to teach bullies and villains a lesson. And now that my dream has come true, I see that a hero is nothing without the people who have helped her along the way. People like my fellow adventurers in the Dark Horse Guild. People like Father Clueth of the Temple and the Gladstone family. Like Jeraldh and leaders of the House of Wolves. Like Priscilla the Witch and Neezer the Merchant. Like Tara and the brave crew who helped us capture the Skull. And like Liam Kent, and even like Suran Corell, who treated us well before we brought him the Book that cursed him and drove him mad."
"I feel very grateful, to all the people of Dirt City. Thank you!"
==========
Later, after the ceremony, Vauhwyt feels a little lost. There's really only one thing she can think of to do. She gets together with Theo and Vorelle. "I'm going goblin hunting. Anyone want to come along?"
Theodore & Macaw Tuesday March 4th, 2008 9:42:21 AM
Theodore swells with pride at Kent's words. He grins foolishly, nodding to the others in his party.
When they are dismissed, he stands outside, breathing in the stifling air of the City as if it were a mountain breeze.
"The City is a thief," he says. His gaze meanders along the sewers and murals. "It has stolen my heart."
He blinks a few times. His eyes fill with moisture. "Friends. I can't correctly explain my admiration for each of you."
He gives each a hug. "We have given much to this city. But I've had a dream for many years to travel beyond our sewers and see the world. I think that I will go to Plateau City and study with the Star Mages' Guild for a while. I hope you will stay out of trouble and don't doubt that I will see you again someday."
Vauhwyt Tuesday March 4th, 2008 7:04:23 PM
::gives Theo and hug::
"Take care of yourself, you goof! We're going to miss you!"
Mookie is silent. First Piper and now Macaw. He is sad but does not know how to say so.
