High Woldian Morphology

Morphology refers to the way in which words are shaped. As we saw in the introduction, passages of High Woldian are written from top to bottom in columns. Sentences are divided by the full stop symbol, also the symbol for End. In this mode the size of the symbol is reduced. We will see examples of this in the following pages.

Sentences are made up of words, which remain seperate from one another. By combining words we either get new meanings or a possesive case; 'of' something. For example

Means Music and speech
Means Song (literally the music of speech)

In sentences the use of the diminshed Man symbol as personal pronoun is common. When combined with the various Action symbols we are able to conjugate the verb To Go. Note how the action symbols combine with the personal pronouns in a slightly different way to most other High Woldian symbols, attatching to the 'foot' of the pronoun.. We can add other symbols than Go of course, and so conjugate different verbs.

I Go
You walk (feminine) He replies We are not going into You give (plural) They are in
