Children of Chaos
North meets South in this third expansion game. Adventurers from New Elenna have discovered the lost Southern Continent and have discovered they are but children of the ever-changing power of Chaos. Follow their struggle to understand the Southern Continent's chaotic cycle and understand their powers before it is too late.

Volume 1: The Explorers 18th July 1999 This brave and hearty group of adventurers have by luck, fate, and the will of The Gods of Wold, sailed to the fabled Southern Continent.
Chapter 1: Strange Welcome 18th July 1999 Trace, Gniffle, Guardian, Alec, Lithasarin, Korvan, Neko, and Sir Thomas alight in Heranmar, where the townsfolk make them -- ah -- welcome.
Volume 3: The Hooked Journey 16th September 2000 The Northerners and their friends travel from DreMoria Forest to Hook City, on the trail of Hobgoblin raiders.
Chapter 1: The Elven Roads 16th September 2000 They cross the mountains along the magical Elven Roads, and Sly Foxx is bushwacked.
Chapter 2: The Dark Lands 16th October 2000 The party's roadside camp is ambushed by Sly's attackers. Our heroes fight in their nightclothes, in what the bearish Orc leader claims is a publicity stunt.
Chapter 3: Camping with Cultists 28th October 2000 Here our intrepid heroes rest for the night and meet some gypsies, travellers, and cultists. The night abounds with mystery and the party learns much about this new territory called The Gateway Downs.
Chapter 4: The Slavers 15th November 2000 The group rudely interrupts a mercantile transaction and becomes very briefly acquainted with a huge four-armed Orc.
Chapter 5: Rain, Rain, Go Away 2nd December 2000 Ilsidur questions a captive with some good old dwarven lovin'. The party receives a gift, and slogs through the famous Gateway weather.
Chapter 6: The Three Forks Inn 13th December 2000 Rest and relaxation on the last leg of the trip, and they learn a thing or two about their destination. Lok makes a friend whom he won't remember in the morning.
Chapter 1: Mud City Blues 20th December 2000 The party approaches the famed Hook City, but an innocent's death, a fugitive, and a mysterious illness delay them outside the city gates.
Chapter 2: Conflict of Interest 15th January 2001 Alyndar and Qwint leave on a mysterious errand, and the remaining companions finally enter the city. An unfamiliar package causes some strife.
Chapter 3: No Room at the Inn 30th January 2001 Fine dining at the Frosted Glass. The friends accept a new job and meet their fellow employees, Ael and Altemia, over dinner.
Chapter 4: Heavy Metal Warehouse 16th February 2001 The companions defend Madame Chloe's warehouse, when Bear makes another nighttime appearance.
Chapter 5: Too Much of a Good Thing 14th March 2001 Alyndar rejoins the companions just in time to enjoy Hook City's legal machine. The party prepares for battle and chooses a name.
Chapter 6: The Challenge 3rd April 2001 The newly christened Southern Lights meet the Champions Protector 452 in formal combat. Not surprisingly, the orcs don't play by the rules. The third of the Brothers of Shadow makes an appearance.
Chapter 7: Aftermath 2nd May 2001 Madame Chloe turns up dead, and the party is granted grievance against the orcs. They prepare for the next battle by scouting The Silky Swan Bath & Inn.
Chapter 8: Rightful Revenge 23rd May 2001 An impetuous thief and a well-planned assault rout the orcs' deadly ambush. Our heroes finally get satisfaction from Bear -- but the price is high.
Chapter 9: Victory, Bittersweet 21st June 2001 The Southern Lights have won the Challenge, so why aren't they happy? Uteva's death and Void's escape might have something to do with it. The party learns about the realities of raising the dead.
Chapter 3: The Search for Lost Brothers 7th January 2002 Alemi has issues an invitation to former clerics and paladins of Domi -- and Sir Thomas is recruited to deliver a few invitations.
Chapter 4: Fair in Love and War 21st January 2002 Love is in the air -- or at least, candies magically made by love cultists are falling from the air! It's all part of a celebration -- Caeroldra, the Power of Love, has decreed that all marriage bonds are loosed! Let Free Love Reign! But will everyone agree with that?
Chapter 5: Under Seige 5th February 2002 A time of changes has come to Threshold. The cult of Love has split into warring factions. Prophets and others speak of the End -- but the end of what? Common folk, adventurers, and even the great and powerful of Threshold feel under seige.
Volume 8: The Forces of the Night 14th March 2002 Now inside the Void, also known as the Vague Lands, also known as Kash-Marr, our adventurers discover dark forces are at work.
Chapter 1: Revelations 14th March 2002 In which secrets are exposed and horror revealed.
Chapter 2: Intruders at Alemi's House 20th March 2002 In response to omens and dreams, the group enters the former Temple of Alemi without invitation. But some thing has gotten there first!
Chapter 4: The Gathering Darkness 15th April 2002 Having encountered vile, unspeakable horror and desecration, surely emerging into daylight will be a relief -- or will it?
Volume 9: The Light of the Day 22nd April 2002 A challenge has been declared, and with it, war! Will our heroes understand how events flow in time? Will they take up the challenge or fumble their opportunities to save the Wold?
Chapter 2: Facing Desecration 28th May 2002 The party returns to the desecrated Temple of Alemi, there to face the utter evil of the machine of Marteus.
Volume 10: Return to the Wold 10th June 2002 The group has escaped from the Void, but at a grievous cost. Sly and Ilsidur are dead, and others are lost.
Chapter 1: The Arch 10th June 2002 In their escape from the Void, the Children of Chaos have created an Arch -- maybe a link between worlds?
Chapter 2: The Orb 19th June 2002 The Children of Chaos find a way to talk with Dragons.
Chapter 1: A Thoughtful Time 20th July 2002 Some OOC discussion of the new Wold and how the players (and their characters) will adapt.
Volume 13: Still Place for Heroes 13th August 2002 Now that the Year of Ascension is over, the Wold has emerged as a damaged place. Some, like Alemi's new sect of Fixers, are trying hard to put things back together. Other people, however, opportunists and scoundrels, are taking advantage of the chaos to plunder and rob. The Wold still needs heroes, as the Southern Lights discover.
Chapter 1: What has gone before 13th August 2002 Though all fades, momentous events have transpired, of which only shadows survive your waking memories.
Chapter 2: Scoundrels 13th August 2002 Our heroes meet a group of scoundrels, a fairly powerful gang, and confrontation ensues. The party kills one scoundrel and then lets the others go.
Chapter 3: Returning to Heranmar, Meeting an old Friend 28th August 2002 The Southern Lights make their way back to Heranmar, the place where Trace and Thomas first set foot on the Southern Continent. There they encounter Donk, and old friend, and learn that the scoundrels they set free had just pillaged the town!
Chapter 4: Fixing the Mistake 4th September 2002 Realizing they should not have let those scoundrels go, the Southern Lights race back to bring them to justice!
Chapter 5: News of Victory for Heranmar 2nd October 2002 The party has at last defeated the scoundrels! As they bring bodies, loot, and tidings back to Heranmar, they discover that the townsfolk there are not exactly gracious in victory.
Chapter 4: Dividing Loot and Body Parts 4th February 2003 The Southern Lights relax after defeating Tumult the Red Dragon. The maidens become the new crones by cutting off body parts and replacing them with the artifacts.
Chapter 3: Mudgrounds of Hook City 3rd October 2003 This is a construction site devoted to those participants in the Great Race. But it seems more like a circus or a festival going on. One stage with a band dominates the area, and several bards occasionally mount it to launch into a musical exploration that ranges from the good (elven poetry, halfling pipes), to the bad (dwarven drinking songs, twanging of raucous strings), to the ugly (that's when the fruit starts flying).
Large pavillions, tents, and ramshackle wooden structures are the norm in this area. The only permanent structures seem to be the well-entrenched inns that service all year, now stocked with interested patrons.
Volume 20: High And Low 21st May 2005 The Children of Chaos arrive in Floating City, an Ocean away from Home on the Southern Continent. Which of the Chaos artifacts is here? And how will they find it? How are these two Noble Houses involved? And what is their terrible secret?
Chapter 2: Stalking the Trash Level 8th September 2005 The Children of Chaos descend into Trash Level to hunt for Lord Tarleth and the Cat and Mouse Gang.
Chapter 3: Abandoned In A Foreign Land? 29th October 2005 The Children of Chaos have the Second of Five Artifacts, the Amulet of Seribond. But, the Chaos Bell has not come to claim them. Why are they still in Floating City? And how will they get back?
Volume 26: Secrets of the Plaktic Ocean 10th September 2007 Our Heroes have encountered a mystery in the ocean off the coast of Heranmar. Dangers and fabulous treasures await!
Chapter 1: The Clues 10th September 2007 Old stories of the fishermen, A talking dolphin, A strange woman... what do they have in common?
Chapter 4: The Morning After 11th December 2007 Where the Children of Chaos return to Heranmar, split treasure, pursue thier own agendas, and decide how to raise thier triton guide.
Volume 27: Mercenaries! 11th January 2008 Mailed Fist comes to town, and there is a lot of other movement of forces in the Gateway Downs.
Chapter 2: Scouts Out! 23rd January 2008 The Mailed Fist scouts are in the area and in trouble allready.
Chapter 3: Orcs and Giants 14th February 2008 The Children of Chaos have discovered a raiding party of orcs and giants have harrassed the area and are now threatening Heranmar itself!
Chapter 4: Aftermath 13th March 2008 most of the giants are defeated, but the survivors could still wreck havok if not dealt with. Question remains; battle or diplomatic dealing?
Volume 28: In Yonder Green Valley 11th June 2008 The Children of Chaos are embarking on an adventure to discover the source of the Elf/Dwarf tensions. Will they learn what they need at the Star Mages Guild in Hook City, or will they move ever further afield?
Chapter 1: Hook City 11th June 2008 Future DMs and Players. This Archive Scene is a great introduction to Heranmar and Hook City places and people that affect the Children of Chaos.

Chapter 2: To Battle Chaos 3rd January 2011 The heroes have penetrated the demonically held town and are a step away from confronting the powerful Marilith. But are they too late and chaos is already loose?
