This quarter is just east of Dragon Quarter and Adventurer’s Square. It is one step down from that area financially. The Red Dragons have their castle here as do the Green Dragons, who occupy the Black Dragon fort, won from them in a duel which also banished the Black Dragons from Plateau City for 10 years, according to the Green Dragons who participated in the Level 3 Oathbonding.

The only place worth visiting in Shanty Town is the Shrine of St. Cormak. Although this shrine is dedicated to Alemi, those who contribute to the shrine are considered lucky and blessed in their next venture.

On the river side of the quarter, which is the southeastern end, stands the triple domed Temple of Gargul. Temple Square surrounds this temple, where all sorts of religious paraphernalia can be bought. The area boasts religious items for Gargul and the Gods of Wold, but godly trinkets for just about any existing God or Power can be found. In the alleys off of this square, information about rogue gods may be obtained if one is careful.

Finally, both of the cities’ taxi services are headquartered in this district. Rod’s Reliable Transportation is situated exactly between the two dragon castles. Cheaper, yet more scenic are the taxi barges of Leipa Landlubber. Her service follows the Endless River and uses it as a mode of transportation. If you travel to the river, you are usually within sight of a taxibarge. Simply call or wave it over and you have cheap safe transportation to anywhere within the city that touches the river. She also has private taxibarges available as well as early morning and late evening romantic tours including Moonlight Island and Endless Falls.

This is where the poor of the poor live. It used to be outside of the walls, but about 20 years ago the Shantyfolk found a savior in the name of a beserking Dwarf named Clangden, who gave money to the poor and orphans to ease his conscience for questionable deeds he committed while adventuring. His last act for the poor in Plateau City was to build a city wall around Shanty Town. The Council of Lords followed this act of mercy by officially recognizing Shanty Town as an official quarter of Plateau City, giving it’s occupants voting rights as well as the rights of citizens. Clangden left the city, after this grand gesture, to guard a main entrance into the Wold Below in eastern Culverwood.

The only place worth visiting in Shanty Town is the Shrine of St. Cormak. Although this shrine is dedicated to Alemi, those who contribute to the shrine are considered lucky and blessed in their next venture.
