WoldianGames site Searches
How to search the whole WoldianGames site for a key word or phrase
Okay! Let's say you want to search for descriptions of Gold Dragon Castle.
Well, it's a toughie, because "Gold Dragon Castle" may not get us what we want. We may have to use something more unique, like, say, "Flabersham" -- the Gold's butler.
Well, go to Google.com. Click on Advanced Search.
Type "Flabersham" into the "with ALL of the words" search box.
Type "woldiangames.com" into the "return results from the site or domain" search box.
Cross your fingers and press the "Google Search" button.
Bzzzt! Oh well. Only two crappy results. Going to each one and searching for "Flabersham" turns up nothing useful.
So try again! Let's give "Gold Dragon Castle" a try (with the quotes). Huh! 70 results. Well, there *might* be something useful there. Personally, I don't feel like searching through all that.
It works best when looking for obscure NPCs. Searching on Barbazu revealed that the pit fiend the Windhorn Hamleteers once faced was none other than General Barbazu, leader of the dark forces against the Storm Dragons at the battle of Edenmoor. You learn something new every day!
Search the entire archive of a game for a key word
To get the whole archive of a game on to one page go to that game's archives, and open the first volume of that archive. For the Gold Dragons, Volume 1: Ravenloft Remembered, generates the URL http://www.woldiangames.com//archives/index.html?game=gdragons&start=954838093&end=954888093
You then delete the end of the URL, in this case, '&end=954888093'. The page then reloads, this time as http://www.woldiangames.com//archives/index.html?game=gdragons&start=954838093
After you wait a few moments (or a few minutes on a dial-up line), you have the whole archive for that game. You can then search for key words.
Search the Woldipedia for a keyword
A bit easier this. Type the word into the Search box on the Woldipedia, and hey presto, there's your list of matches.
