Geography: Plateau City: Outcast Quarter
This quarter is home to the strange and bizarre. It is not unusual nowadays to see a Two-headed troll walking the streets with a Barghest commenting on the weather and the taste of the wonderful wine to be found on Hob Run.
The outstanding feature in this district is ruins of the War Cathedral of Domi. Once a grand place of worship and protection, now it lays open to the elements. This, however, does not mean that it is empty. Within the ruins, huge areas lie cleaned and open to the sky. Clerics, monks, and paladins are trained here learning the inner personally meanings of courage at the School of Defense. Even though the ruins do not contain a temple, this location is probably the most attended on Godsday for worship and encouragement.
Behind and to the east of the War Cathedral is perhaps the most beautiful location within the city: The Endless Falls. Falling 15,000 feet to the southern wine valley below, very little other than mist ever makes it to the bottom. It is magicked so that people falling over the falls are teleported back to the beginning of the river some half a mile east of town. Those needing a thrill can throw oneself off of the falls in a barrel only to appear back at the start of the river. The Barrel Races are one of Plateau City’s favorite events.
Just north of the Endless Falls is Moonlight Island. A shrine to Caeroldra is situated there. Many couples in love charter a raft to the island at night and declare their passion for each other. Spurned lovers may throw themselves off the falls.
Lasher Castle is also in this quarter. Filled with undead, it is another of the official “dungeons” of the city.
