The Guild Quarter used to be a great center of power within the city; however, King Claudia in a move which marks her short life as King of New Elenna, limited the power of the Noble Guilds greatly by cutting most requirements for membership including mandatory membership fees. Guilds now teach, advise and support it’s members instead of the other way around.
The Merchant Guild retains much power due to the cooperation and democratic workings of it’s members as well as support from the Temple of Ffloy. In fact, lately it is difficult to tell the organization from the temple.
