Kurgan was a drow living in the area prior to The Crying Woods becoming The Crying Woods.
He lived through the drow/lizard folk wars, losing his brother, sister, father and mother in the conflict. As a result, he harbors a deep hatred toward lizard folk.
Driven slightly insane by the loss of his family, Kurgan chose to blame the outcome of the war on the sudden manifestation of The Crying Wood. He has spent a millenium researching the reasons for the Crying Wood, and has discovered the story of Karkasan and his fate.
