Coalesce Spells (Metamagic)

Prerequisites: One other metamagic feat or five ranks in Spellcraft

Special: Must enter into Contract of Coalescence with Ffloy

Ffloy, the god of commerce, knows the value of all things. All things can be traded, bartered, or bought, even magic. For Ffloy, it is possible to bargain with the value of magic much like money, changing between denominations of coins. By entering into a bargain with Ffloy, you can use this small part of his power for yourself.

Benefit: This feat lets you prepare or spontaneously cast a spell using two spell slots that are one level lower than the one you would usually use to cast or prep the spell. For example, you can prep or cast Fireball, a 3rd level spell, using two 2nd level spell slots. You can prep or cast Quickened Magic Missile, a 5th level spell, using two 4th level slots. The spell you prep or cast must be on your list of spells known (for spontaneous casters) or can cast (for casters who prep spells). Coalesced spells can only use metamagic feats you possess. If you coalesce two 0 level spells to cast a first level spell, you cannot thereafter use those cantrips until you normally regain spells. Note that the spells you coalesce must both be granted by the same class, and the resulting spell must come from that same class as well; you cannot coalesce a druid and a wizard spell to make a cleric spell, for example.

In order to use this feat, you must enter into a Contract of Coalescence with Ffloy, which you must attain from a Cleric of Ffloy, who will bargain with his god for you. The cost of the contract will be to lend Ffloy a portion of your power permanently. This requires you to sacrifice one spell slot of the highest level you possess. The level of this slot increases as you progress in spellcasting levels.

This feat was created by Dai and approved by the PTB in October 2012.
