GARGUL

(God of the Underworld)

Priests’ Version

Realms of Responsibility

This god collects all the souls and spirits of the dead and makes sure that they arrive at the proper plane of resting and do not roam The Wold at will. He tracks down spirits that roam the Prime Material of The Wold without proper reasons. Gargul is totally dedicated to the elimination of undead from The Wold.

Duties of the Eye

Guidance.

Vigilance against any being which is unnaturally keeping Death at bay. The key word here is unnaturally, meaning in defiance of the gods. Wizards using potions of longevity are okay, until they reach a natural age of three hundred or so, at which time these priests become their enemies. Healers who cure injury and disease are accepted, unless they stumble onto some technique or magic that allows them to imbue immortality. This does not conflict with priests who can resurrect or reincarnate, because if the gods didn’t want them to be able to, they wouldn’t have given them the ability to do this.

Missions: Eyes spend most of their lives in ongoing missions against patriarchs of Alemi, and revenge against those who have harmed Eyes and their interests.

Strictures

Eyes must be celibate, but do not have to be chaste.

Must give 10% to the church.

Ethos

Take your revenge on those who harm you or yours, demand respect from all. The Afterlife is better than this one. Life is too serious to joke about.
