Geography: Plateau City: Gold Quarter
This quarter is home to the Temple of Pantheon, as well as shops and taverns for the wealthy folk of the city. Goods and services in this district tend to be pricey. Theoretically, they are also of higher quality, but in truth a good part of the markup is simply the cachet of being from the Gold Quarter.
The district's two gladiator schools seem an odd anomaly, but they pre-date much of the quarter's grandeur. Indeed, when they were first established, the district's most noteworthy feature was its proximity to the Arena. Of the two, the Gladiator Castle is the more traditionally prestigious. It is known for its spartan approach and strict discipline. The House of Blood has a more "win-at-all-costs" mentality, which has grown more pronounced in recent years. Indeed, some whisper that House of Blood graduates are better suited to back alleys than the arena.
Perhaps fittingly, the Gold Quarter is also the home of the Club of Connoisseurs of Combat, a Wold-wide organization for martial combatants of all stripes.
For those who prefer more civilized contests, the Golden Hearth Club is a private debate society. Many of the city's barristers relax and hone their skills here.
The Blue Ale Tavern is an excellent place to settle down for some fine music and expensive wines.
Sparkle's Exchange offers a place to store and exchange wealth, a useful service for wealthy merchants and successful adventurers alike.
The Morning Star Apartments is an excellent place to rent a nice apartment for extended stays within the city. Rent is high, but the staff will provide most needed services.
