This is a partial module written for Ice Vein by DanK and Justin

Taking what Justin stared and running with it a bit. here is the front part. What do you think? basically gonna have a 4 encounter modules here clearing out the wood, befreinding a dryad and gaining a piece or two of knowledge for later about the undead Fey and home ward bound they go.

Initial Comment: The Sne Kjempe concept is abomidable snowman based, nomadic types small family clan. Not your standard ogre’s with forts and all that, much more animalistic. They would not be harvesting wood for themselves. That said I think we should/can/will parlay this adventure into a group or being pulling the Sne Kjempe together. Build off the DFR a bit. The group does not need to find the greater casue just yet. This could be a nice simple intro to combat and such for the Players. Most seem inexperienced in DnD 3.5 combat and general rules.

[Jerry: I need a Sne Kjempe paragraph added to the Ice Vein starter-legend and then the new document loaded online. I need a Monster writeup of the Sne Kjempe put in your game bible. Send the updated Ice Vein legend to me to file away as well please and I want to file away the Sne Kjempe monster listing as well please. The reason I’m asking for this is that it seems that the Sne Kjempe are becoming a staple creature in Ice Vein to be used often. So all future DMs of this game or DMs that bring their game to Ice Vein will need this information.]

General Note 2: I want to expand the Ice Vein feel, to a land of supernatural. Ghosts, spirits and all that, really tie the world of the supernatural to the Cold of Ice Vein. The natural elements are fine at keeping the common folk from the tundra, but one simple 1st level spell and bing, no sweat. Therefore I feel it is imperative to add this element. Monsters and creatures all require the building of an ecosystem. In the open barren nothing survives the cold of the Ice Vein, this is problematic and undead solves it nicely. Spirits ghosts and such also were heavy in the first module and are more prelevant in cultures near the artic and antartic regions. More night time probably accounts for that.

[Jerry: Sounds great. Survival skills here would be very important. I suggest doing some subdividing of survival and require separate feats for them. Profession: Cooking to make travel food. Profession: hide making to be able to make hides into clothing, shelter, bandages, etc. That sort of thing. Get the players to develop these for ya. Be sure to add all this to your game bible and send to a webmaster for uploading to the DM area.]

Changes Made During Play:

Synopsis: To help the rebuilding of Icepeak Village the group has left for the last known Sne Kjempe attack. Two hunters were savagely attacked and killed much to close for the liking of the elders. The group needs to determine why the Sne Kjempe are pushing into the Ice Peak hunting grounds to the West. The crags used to be the outskirts, but no longer, The giants are pushing further in towards the village. Several Sne Kjempe clans have been brought together, along with several goblin warrens. This is a strictly building adventure. The group is not going to find out what exactly was bringing the giants together. What they will do is inflict enough casualties that the Sne Kjempe retreat further into the tundra and southern mountains. The Sne Kjempe are not harvesting wood but are looking for something. This wood has a dryad guardian and her tree is connected to the Ishgaran Tree and the Undead Fey has need/use for the deep wood core. The Kjempe and goblins are looking for it.

[Jerry: I have not heard of thid dryad guardian or the Ishgaran Tree or the Undead Fey. I’m assuming that all this was done during the DFR. Better write it up in detail now and add it to your module.]

Side thoughts for DM: When Ebyron’s avatar came to Ice Vein it awoke another ancient being. That of an Undead Fey. This creature had built the temple the crossover took place in and the mummy was one of it’s servants. The undead Fey has been at war with Celsiun (A power here in the Ice Vein) for eons. It lost and was fell into a deep sleep like death. The great machine of Marteus that was buried under Ice Vein and the cause of the many spirits to be attracted here prevented the Undead Fey from being completely destroyed as Celsiun thought he had The awakening of Ebyron also stirred it back to ‘life’ and it’s hunger is unyielding to drain the life force of all sentient life. It thrives on fear and horror (to tie to the new Realm of Koshe Marr later) and thus likes the noble races best.

[Jerry: Again, need all NPCs and important NPCs written up in the module.]

[Think I would like to use a less imposing creature. A wood nymph animates a tree and pretends to be a treant. A treant could wipe the floor with the goblins and ogres after all. But the nymph is young, maybe her mother was killed confronting the Sne Kjempe, and she is scared alone and unsure of what to do. The good hearted party is her chance to reclaim her mothers forest, now hers. In the future she would make a great ally and in the Ice Vein allies are few and far between. She can say ‘how powerful her mother was and she does not understand the Sne Kjempe at all. They are dangerous yes, but hardly wood harvesters or the type of animal to cooperate with anything, let alone goblins and worgs. She believes her mother went to scare them off and something dreadful happened. Her mother is gone that she knows, but she still does not believe the Sne Kjempe did it, her mother was simply too powerful for them. Unfortunately in the here and now, she is far from her mothers level. Her forest is surely doomed’…insert crying I also think it would be better for this to take place in Subline 1. she could help against the 4 ogres, a damn tough fight having seen two almost kill the whole party. She could animate a tree. 1 should do it]

[Jerry: Sounds good.]

Thoughts? or jerry you just want it when I'm done?

[Jerry: Yep, what I need is the module for this done in our formal fashion in scenes with summary before and the NPCs, treasure, xp, etc. in the closing section. Let me know if you need a template to write the module on. This is overdue so I need it ASAP please. I’m waiting on about 3 of you so I can be done with modules and move on to doing the revamp of the seals.]
