Who is it?
Mother Veolos (The Swarm Queen) was a former Dark Lord of Koshe Marr, and a devoted servant of Marteus. She was often depicted as a towering figure covered in a writhing mass of insects, her form obscured by the constant movement of her swarm. Mother Veolos possessed formidable power and had a particular talent for tracking and hunting down any unwelcome visitors who dared to intrude upon the domain of Koshe Marr. The vast swarms of insects and other eerie creatures under her command extended far and wide, granting her an almost all-seeing presence.
However, when the mighty Kevintar, aided by the Iron Dragons, managed to break free from his captivity and engage Marteus in a climactic battle, Mother Veolos realized her vulnerability and that she was on the weaker side. The overwhelming strength displayed by Kevintar and the Iron Dragons was undeniable, and the once formidable Marteus was left severely weakened.
Sensing the shifting tides of power, Mother Veolos seized the opportunity to escape from Koshe Marr. With her own resourcefulness and cunning, she made her way to the Scab, a remote and desolate region in the Wold. It was there that she found refuge, far removed from Koshe Marr, and embraced her new role as a Power tied to the land.
The great mystery concerning Mother Veolos now is that no-one knows who worships her. It takes sentience to worship or patron a Power. It takes priests to spread the message of a power or god. But absolutely no-one openly worships Mother Veolos. Some say there is a place in the Twilight Valleys of Maab that worships her. Some talk about a hidden pocket realm within Carrion Valley where intelligent insects worship her. Some believe that she is still patroned by some in Koshe Marr. But while even worshipers of Mother Veolos may not be aware of each other, she is aware of all of them and connects with her worshipers the way the queen of an insect colony connects with her subjects.
Despite the lack of public worship, there are some who claim to have witnessed the power of Mother Veolos firsthand. Those few who dare to travel to Carrion Valley have reported strange occurrences, such as swarms of insects that act with unusual intelligence and purpose, or seemingly impossible feats of strength and coordination accomplished by small insectoid creatures. None of these rumors have been substantiated, and many dismiss them as mere superstition.
Regardless of what one believes, it is clear that Mother Veolos holds a certain power in the Scab.

Carrion Valley is the highest valley in The Scab. Warmed by all sorts of geothermal activity, it is the home of Mother Veolos, the Swarm Queen.
