  • Strange, Very strange indeed. An attack upon some animals on the outskirts of town brought us together and what we learned seemed to point to a dark fey having moved into the area. But now? A pair of drunken ogres staggering into the festival and a stolen short sword. Then, last night a ruckus with some shock lizards and shadowy figures, but nothing is taken and no real harm done. Other than the loss of some sleep. The humans are getting jumpy and that usually leads them to bad decisions. They are not the best at mulling it over and letting time be helpful. Hopefully Mole and I can keep some perspective to the longer term

  • Gremlins! And they seem to be everywhere. While coming back to town, Mortimer, Mole and I came upon a mob from town trying to burn Agatha at the stake as a witch. were it not for her cat which lead us to her, they very well might have succeeded. Gremlins were in the crowd, egging them on and Angus seems to have been the chief architect. We killed one and drove the other off. Angus had 'friends' hiding in the wood. He is not what he seems and I think he is taking advantage of the gremlin presence. My gut screams werewolves. It fits with the sheep killing and perhaps the farm hand. Mortimer was nearly killed by the gremlin, luckily Drack, Torry and Ash showed up. Ambushed by another group of gremlins themselves. Place is becoming over run. Next moves? I don't know, but I am very interested to see if Angus or anyone else in town has a relatively fresh wound.

  • We have tracked and routed the gremlins! Well, mostly at any rate. A few got away and there are some sort of water gremlins hiding in a small underground lake, but we are going to head back to the caves to take care of it. We found and returned Grog's sword and no one got killed. A good day's work overall. Drack has become blessed by Domi, part I think in thanks to Brother Maynerd, but I know it to be due in most part to the human's character. Did I mention I made some herb butter duck? The group seems to be coming together fairly well. Torry looks to be taking her love of dance to another level, that of combat. An interesting mix to watch unfold indeed. Mortimer is an amusing fellow, even for a human he feels a bit everywhere. His arcane family history would be interesting to map out some day. Wonder how it will manifest? Ash is a student of the art and a good one at that and I don't have a good finger on Manolo quite yet. He's quite and seems to like the background, but mostly he simply lacks confidence to step and do anything. He's young though, even for a human. Mole is mole. maybe he will come out of his shell in another 50 years or so. Looking forward to meeting that dwarf.

  • Our exploration of the surrounding area, to see if something was on the rise to unite the wild tribes as has happened in the past turned up nothing overly concerning. We met with a warrior, Robert by name, who travelled with us in the wilds. He accounted well for himself and a part of me is saddened that he was called to walk a different path. At an old homestead we discovered an altar erected for evil purpose. We were able to lay the haunts to rest and consecrate the area. Here we met a fellow gnome, Gnubert Glitterdust. Likely some relation to the Glitterfall clan at some point, but nothing overly recent. A good fellow of merit and wit, blessed by gods and most welcome in company. we are home now, Minerva's place, now ours, though we keep the name. I'm starving for some good food. Time to lose a day in the kitchen

  • Sea Devils! A ship attacked off our very shores and nearly all killed aboard her. With the assistance of some powerful magical items within the towns possession, we set up beneath the very waves to confront the threat. Though I must admit for myself, I had misgivings on it being the right course of action. I admit I was wrong, for we found another survivor and dealt the Sahauguin a serious blow. Most were killed and the rest fled. It will be a long time if ever, they recover to threaten our shores again. I do fear we aided in the cycle though

  • No sense of wonder or humor this lot. Alack and alas. We were pressed by travelling minstrels to tell our tale and, as one might guess, the minstrels wanted a name to put to the group who performed such deeds as ours. The Woldian Heroic Adventurers Protecting Society, Daring Rakes and Courageous Knights and Grand Nemesis of Monsters Everywhere. All fantastic, but no. None were to be The others could not see the joy and befuddlement such things would bring to our friends and enemies. The Call goes out for THWAPS! Surely would have been great. I was even willing to go with the Paladin, but i'm not sure Drack put the two together; Daring Rakes and Courageous Knights. GNOMES was indeed intended to be a joke. But we finally came to a consensus and I am quite proud to name myself with this group of friends, The Argentium

  • An ancient curse had come time again and struck while all of us were providing an education in the great outdoors to a group of children of Windhorn. Three sisters, hags all, haunt the woods every 100 years or so and take the children for sacrifice to where they themselves as children were taken so log ago. While The Argentium was able to keep safe and return our charges home, 2 other groups were far less fortunate. We were able to track the hags to the Frozen Chapel where we slew them all and rescued the abducted children. Unfortunately, the adults with them, were already dead. Gnubert and Drack sanctified the Frozen Chapel and the spirit of the mother of those original 3 sisters appeared and gave us good reason to believe we had ended the curse and laid all souls to rest. Returning to Windhorn with the children, now many without parents, we set them up with other willing families to take them in and started a fund to help support those families to do so. The gnomish way and in my opinion, far better than how the humans traditionally set up what they call orphanages where I have heard almost nothing but bad things. Tonight we meet with Mr Hiroshi, an odd sort of gentlemen, but a meal at Hearthfire Inn is always welcome.

  • An ancient magic item, Treasure Box of Svengaxi, lost to history has become our interest through 2 parties that have come to us with fairly different agendas. On one side Hiroshi Katsu a being of some sorts, possibly fey, who wishes to have the box to keep it safe from use and for simply having. The other, is a cloistered mystic order, that believe to be genie or at least partially so. They claim to the protectors of the box and wish it back so they may continue to do so, or perhaps they will wish to destroy it, as it was under their protection when it was last lost. After much soul searching, The Argentium has decided to continue with Hiroshi to find the box. My heart is troubled though, the box is now reported to house a djinni and by one account, this is akin to enslavement. Are other summoning items or even the shorter spells to do so the same? Are the wielders of magic here in the Wold nearly all guilty of slavery? It eats at me.

  • Gone. My dearest friend in Windhorne has departed. Drack, paladin of Domi. Gone too now is Torrynashkabbeth, sacred dancer. They shall be missed

-Loryn Glitterfall 2024/06/01

  • Vampires! We have tracked one of the last known locations of the Treasure Box of Svengaxi and this time it really is with vampires about. Ogre spawn vampires, but blood suckers still all the same. heir secreted coffins have been discovered and now it is time to put them to eternal rest.

NPCs

  • Tony - (Male Half-Orc Adept). He looks young and a little rough, brown haired and with off-white skin and brutish features. Orphan. Nosey as youngsters are and has a nose for trouble
  • Grog - (Male Half Orge Fighter) retired adventurer and owner of Grog's Tavern. Very old, possibly impossibly so. Owns a magical sword and defended the town against his ogre tribe, defeating the leader in single combat long ago.
  • Minerva is a human in her forties. Slightly plump and 5’ 10” tall, she poses a formidable figure, quite capable of keeping her boarders in line. but Her long, brown hair, streaked gray, is typically bound up in a bun. She is noted to be a competent cook, and it is not unusual for an occasional guest to join at her table. The boarding house used to be a single family dwelling built by her father two decades ago, having outlived his wife by ten years, but when he passed, having outlived his wife by ten years, he left the house to her. She soon converted it to the boarding house it currently is. She will be quite protective of anyone staying at her house. Minerva has moved to Edenmoor, the town council now owns the Boarding House
  • Heorstan Male human, mid-thirties and a bit gangly. He is married to Rena. Sort of the “mad-philosopher” (eccentric sage, really) of the community, Heorstan is full of half-baked ideas about which he gets very enthusiastic. Frequently they work, and there is no one in town he has not helped with some unexpected notion. However, they also often do not work, and have been known to fail spectacularly. There are several people in town who feel he is more of a menace than a benefit. They point to close calls where people escaped being hurt only by luck.
  • Daedra Blackhammer, female dwarf, town smith. All things dwarf of dwarf tradition rolled into one very pragmatic package
  • Theobald Swiftshine, male human. Husband to Phaedra. One of the three fulltime members of the Windguard and and well respected trapper and hunter.
  • Captain Phaedra Swiftshine,, female human. Captain of the Windguard, great granddaughter of Simon Bearclaw, one of the town founders and namesake of Bearclaw Keep.
  • Agatha,, Young single woman who has several felines living with her in her cottage. Generally suspected to be a witch. Patron to Torrynashkabbeth in teaching her the mystic arts and the way of the sacred monk. A blcak cat is her familiar which the Hearoes suspect may be more than it appears.
  • Sturm Hendricks, , male human. Farmer married to Maggie with 2 boys. A sturdy man, probably in his thirties, his skin brown and leathery from the sun.
  • Angus,, male human. Windhorne native with a superstitious streak. Quick to judge, quick to anger and action. generally fearful of what is common understanding cannot grasp. Was involved in leading a mob to attack and burn the witch Agatha. The heroes suspect he may be more than he seems. Lycanthrope perhaps.

Places

  • Bearclaw Keep - In the center of town. Built for defense, it is well maintained and large enough to temporarily house the residents of Windhorn during an emergency. Stocked with weapons, dry food, and first aid supplies, it serves as shelter in times of attack or calamity. In addition to providing for the general defense, it also functions as the seat of government housing offices for the Farmer’s Coop, the Mayor, other organizations such as the WLA, and the Windguard, the town watch.
  • Minerva's Boarding House - Owned officially by Windhorne where the PC's have free room and Board acting on the towns behalf as heroes
  • Sturm Hendricks Farm - a typical example of the outlying farms. The house, having a short foundation wall of limestone from the nearby coast topped with a timber frame in-filled with wattle and daub. The roof is of thatch. An outbuilding stands next to the house, the roofs of the two buildings nearly touching. This outbuilding sports a wide door, currently open and a window opening on each side. The openings have wooden panels on the outside that drop down to cover them. These panels are currently propped open with a board designed for that purpose. Noteworthy above the door and each window is a symbol of Wardd constructed of roughly twisted fiber. These are immediately recognizable as protective charms.
  • Old Homestead - Abandoned homestead about a day's travel into the wilds. Location where group consecrated a profane altar and statue as well as confiscated several evil magic items
  • Old Homestead Statue - High Woldian writing adorns this strange statue at the Old Homestead
