Dread Lords are a creation of the Dread. Using a lengthy process of torture and embalming. The warriors soul is slowly stripped by whipping, burning, cutting and forcing the recipient to suffer immeasurable amounts of pain, while wishes and miracles are cast, forcing that persons life force into their soon to be phylactery. Once their spirit resides in a gem of no less then five thousand gold pieces in value, their corpse is preserved through a powerful embalming process that is filled with rituals of dark magic.
When the corpse regains it's consciousness, it has the same powers and skills it had at the time of it's passing. It will need to be adapted to the undead and lich template.
The Dread usually pulls these powerful warriors from the dark lands of Izen or the bowls of any major city. They seek out powerful warriors that are nearing the ends of their natural life and with questions, they test the spirit of the person, before offering them eternal life.
